I'm Rhonda. I'm a brand new gardener. I live just outside of Atlanta - zone 8ish I'd say based on the temps.
I challenged myself to start a vegetable garden this year. I've killed every houseplant I've ever had including a Bonsai, but I'm trying hard to grow some food for my family. My garden is in containers on my deck and I have a small raised bed on the side of my house.I'm growing 6 kinds of tomatoes, jalapeno and banana peppers and 2 kinds of cukes (burpless and pickling). I'm also growing lettuce. I've been harvesting it for over month. I'm not quite sure how long I'll continue to get lettuce. Temps are in the 90's now. I do have in a shaded area of the raised bed, so we'll see what happens. Thanks to Kim, I installed a drip irrigation system. I still have a few kinks to work out but it's been watering beautifully. I love it. I never would have thought to do it if it weren't for Kim.
I plan to build some tomato cages this weekend. I'm going to do it the way Kim did in her video. I purchased the cheap cages, but I can tell they won't last the season. I'm transfer those to the peppers.
I'd love some feedback on the cucumber leaves. Those yellow spots just started yesterday. I've been using Neem oil/soap/water for bugs, but it is time for another application. I also did an Epsom salt treatment a few days ago, so I'm not sure.
Thanks for watching my video and thanks Kim for allowing me to share it. I'm really proud of it. :)
