Not Forgotten: Chicago Street Memorials

02:16
Street-side memorials appear after violent losses—marking death spots. Memorials contain private meanings easily missed from an automobile passing at 35 mph. The public lacks direct access to much of this emotional depth. This exhibit, devoted to 2015 and 2016 memorials in Chicago neighborhoods, offers unusual access to these often visually arresting structures and their stories. Not Forgotten: Chicago Street Memorials communicates the grief and the love present in humble and transitory objects on the sidewalks of Chicago.
