Welcome to Guidance for Graduates. In this video, I will explain the different sources to search for funded PhD positions in Europe.
Slide-2 PhD in Europe. Why ?
In Europe, the Ph.D. students are paid with a decent salary. The salary is more than enough for a family to lead the decent life in Europe comfortably.
Moreover, in Scandinavia, Ph.D. students are considered as employees. The salary is around 2000 to 3000 after tax.
The duration of Ph.D. study period is around 3 to 4 years and this duration is counted to get permanent residence and also citizenship. Therefore, Ph.D. is always exciting and less stressful in Europe.
Many students are contacting Guidance for Graduates enquiring where they can find a funded Ph.D. position. In this video, I will give the different sources to find funded Ph.D. position in Europe.
Slide-3: Where can I find a Ph.D. or Researcher open positions?
In general, the open positions can be found at the respective University website. However, to search at each University is a tiresome and not easy job. Therefore, we attempted to provide the important sources of PhD or other job open positions across Europe,
These are some of the common sources.
1. University Positions
At the universitypositions.eu, the country-wise list of job openings across Europe can be found. Along with Ph.D., other academic open positions, and other jobs can also be found here.
2. Academic Positions
The other important source is academic positions. The list of the opening are categorized as country wise, and also research filed-wise, and even they are classified by institute wise.
3. EURAXESS job vacancies
The other source is Euraxess. Euraaxess is a unique pan-European initiative delivering information and support services to professional researchers. It is backed by the European Union and its Member States,

Denmark: Study in Denmark.dk website is an excellent source to find open Ph.D. positions in Denmark.

The following websites provides most of the information on Ph.D. open positions in Norway and Sweden.

Slide-6: How to search for a Ph.D. position in Finland?
Applicants can search for Ph.D. open positions by using two methods.
1. https://studyinfo.fi application page search function
2., or by visiting the universities’ websites.

At DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) website, you can find open Ph.D. positions in all fields and all over Germany.
