I Drank Only Water for 20 Days, See What Happened to My Body

07:45
What is water fasting? What are its benefits? Intermittent fasting is gaining huge popularity as a dietary option, but what actually happens to your body when you fast? When I first heard about water fasting, I thought, “No way am I doing this!” But after doing some research and finding out about the benefits of this process, I changed my mind. And now I'm going to tell you what I experienced during my 20-day water fast. The first 2 days were going to be the most difficult. And they were indeed! I felt incredibly hungry — almost as if I had missed several breakfasts, lunches, and dinners. My energy level dropped, and my mood left much to be desired. I was increasingly irritated, and my patience was wearing thin. TIMESTAMPS: The benefits of water fasting 0:43 Days 1–2 2:23 Days 3–7 3:19 Days 8–14 4:37 Days 15–20 5:31 #waterfasting #waterchallenge Music by Epidemic Sound https://www.epidemicsound.com/ SUMMARY: - When your body can't get access to carbohydrates (its favorite source of energy), it starts to use stored fats. As a result, you can lose about 1 lb of fat every day. This makes water fasting one of the most effective short-term weight loss methods. - Water fasting can also help if you have digestive problems like irritable bowel, diarrhea, gas, gastritis, constipation, or loss of appetite. - The first 2 days were going to be the most difficult. I felt incredibly hungry — almost as if I had missed several breakfasts, lunches, and dinners. - On the third day, the second stage of my water fasting began. By that time, the much-awaited process of ketosis had started. That's when your body gets down to burning the fat it has stored as it has no other sources of energy. - After the first week of feeding myself nothing but water, I experienced a kind of “fasting high.” I felt great, happy, and impressively energetic. But what pleased me the most was a particular clarity of mind. - When I got to the fifteenth day of my water fasting, I was incredibly proud of myself! I knew that very few people reach this stage. I also knew that this was a period when I had to be immensely attentive to my condition and visit a doctor if I felt that something had gone wrong. - Believe it or not, I felt at my best after my water fast. I lost some weight (though not as much as I’d expected). My vitals were impressive in a good way, and some health abnormalities were no longer a cause for concern. Why Are Mosquitoes Attracted To You?!

Mosquitoes are attracted to me and it's likely due to my genes. This video is sponsored by 23andMe https://23andme.com/veritasium Huge thanks to Prof. Immo Hansen and team: http://ve42.co/hansen References: Genome Wide Association Study for self-reported mosquito attractiveness: http://ve42.co/MossieGWAS The twin study showing correlated attractiveness is stronger for identical twins: http://ve42.co/MossieTwins Some things we know make mosquitoes more attracted to you: Exercising, higher metabolism, higher body temperature, more body odor, being pregnant, type O blood, infrequent bathing, lactic acid, ammonia, acetone. There are a number of folk remedies people believe protect them from mosquito bites like drinking alcohol, eating garlic, or taking vitamin B. These do not appear to provide any benefit in lab studies and in fact drinking alcohol is associated with increased mosquito activity because it causes blood vessels near the surface of the skin to dilate. And apparently some of your attractiveness to mosquitos is simply genetic. This may be mediated through your immune system, which is what a lot of the genes identified were associated with.

Fruits that are Safe for a Keto Diet

Click Here to Subscribe: http://Bit.ly/ThomasVid Website: http://ThomasDeLauer.com Get the Clothes I Wear at 25% Off - Use Code: TDSUMMER25 at http://www.Hylete.com Fruits that are Safe for a Keto Diet - Thomas DeLauer On a ketogenic diet, people still tend to think that fruit is going to operate a little bit differently within the body, meaning that they're okay to have some fruit because it's not a typical carbohydrate. The reason I wanted to do this video was to, A, help clear up some confusion surrounding fructose and glucose metabolism, but also to help give you an idea of some of the fruits that you can consume on a ketogenic diet even if it's just in moderation. You see, generally speaking, people tend to look at fruit a little bit different. Sometimes they put it in an entirely different box as far as carbohydrates are concerned. They think, because it's fruit or because it's natural, that it's not a real carbohydrate and that it won't affect them on a ketogenic level. However, it's actually quite the opposite. Fruit can affect ketosis significantly more because it hits closer to home as far as the liver is concerned. Hey, if you haven't already, make sure you hit that Subscribe button so you can get all of my videos and know whenever I'm posting a new vid. Also, make sure you hit that little bell icon so you can turn on notifications so you know whenever I go live, but also so that you never, ever miss an awesome video. All right, so when it comes down to ketosis, one of the cardinal things that we have to remember is that ketones are produced in the liver. Anything that is affecting the liver is going to have a dramatic impact on our ketone production, and fructose is metabolized predominantly within the liver. I'm going to explain all that in just a second. We have a couple of different carbohydrates that we usually consume. We have good old-fashioned glucose, and then we have fructose, which comes from fruit. You see, glucose is used by virtually every single cell in the body. Whether you're in ketosis or not, every cell has the capability of utilizing glucose. Now, on the other hand, fructose can only be metabolized in the liver. Fructose cannot be used by every cell in the body. Fructose can really only actively be processed and metabolized within the liver, so right then and there, it hits closer to home as far as ketosis is concerned. Whenever we consume regular carbohydrates that are not coming from fruit, the liver only has to take about 20% of the brunt of the load, but when we're consuming fruit, the liver has to take 100% of the brunt of the load. When it comes down to restoring what's called liver glycogen, the carbohydrates that are stored in the liver, it's a lot easier to store carbohydrates in the liver from fruit than it is from other carbohydrates. Now, when it comes down to producing ketones, we need the liver to be completely depleted of glycogen, or as close to it as possible, in order to produce the maximum amount of ketones. Now, keep in mind here, since glucose can be used by every cell in the body, when we consume glucose we have an ability to burn it up really fast, but since the body can't use fructose, whenever we consume fructose, it has a tendency to get turned into free fatty acids and triglycerides and, ultimately, fat significantly easier. Whenever we consume carbs, our body takes glucose, again, the simple sugars that come from regular carbohydrates, and it strings them together, and it strings them together into something known as glycogen, and then it stores them in a couple different places. It takes them and it stores them on the shelves within our muscles, within our skeletal muscle system, and then, some of it, it takes and it stores within our liver, but there's two distinct jobs. You see, the skeletal muscle tissue does something different with it's glycogen than the liver does. The job of the glycogen or the carbohydrates that are stored in the liver is simply to maintain blood sugar. We're trying to keep our blood glucose levels elevated enough so that we constantly have enough energy. Now, when it comes down to the muscle glycogen, those carbohydrates that are stored are used only whenever we're exerting energy for activity. For example, if you were to break into a sprint and you needed energy, you'd pull it from the muscle tissue, but if you just needed regular blood glucose levels to be elevated for traditional life, you'd pull it from the liver. What ends up happening is, once we burn through all the liver glycogen, all the carbs that are stored in the liver, our body has the ability to produce ketones.

💪 5 Proven Tips To Get Bigger, Harder, More Vascular Muscles

Proven formula for increasing your testosterone & building more muscle: 👉 http://drsam.co/yt/BuildMoreMuscle Or discover the only 4 ways to build muscle: 👉https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X6ZSOu2CinM Lower blood sugar, improve insulin sensitivity and lose fat: 👉http://drsam.co/yt/InsulinAndVeins =============================================== 💪 5 Proven Tips To Get Bigger, Harder, Vascular Looking Muscles =============================================== “This video was awesome, but I how can I get my muscles to look hard, full and vascular? I’m lean, but I always look “soft” and “flat”. Nothing “pops” like it does with the fitness and bodybuilder guys you see in the magazines, movies and online” Harder, Fuller, Vascular Muscles However, there are some “secrets” or proven tactics to getting harder, fuller, vascular/veiny looking muscles and I’ll reveal them today. Tip #1 - Leaner Is Better What’s important to note is that I’m 6’3”, but only weight 200 lbs. So I give the ILLUSION of “looking” bigger because I’m lean and under 10% body fat. So, that’s the first secret - you have to get lean. When you’re lean, you’ll have more muscle separation, you’ll have more veins and thus, your muscles will “pop” more because they’re not hiding under a layer of fat. Tip #2 - Hydrate Normally I’m fuller than these pictures and more vascular as the day progresses because I’ve had a lot more water, electrolytes, carbohydrates, food and minerals. These pictures were taken first thing in the morning, on an empty stomach with very little water, so I was “flat”, rather than being “full”. This is one problem with people who are always on a low-carb diet (ketogenic, paleo, intermittent fasting, etc.) . They look flat and depleted, even when they are lean. Carbs help fill out your muscles because they hold 3x their weight in water. When your muscles are hydrated, you’ll look fuller, bigger and harder.. And your blood volume will also be higher and thus, you’ll be more vascular too. HOWEVER, I put Himalayan or Celtic salt in my water and on my food. This keeps me hydrated and that’s the secret. My workouts are a lot better too. I’m stronger and I get better pumps. However, REAL salt does the opposite - it retains the water in your muscles, not under the skin. Tip #3 - Improve Insulin Sensitivity The problem with having carbs is NOT higher blood sugar, but poor insulin sensitivity. In fact, the more muscle you have and the lower your body fat, the better your insulin sensitivity, the MORE carbs you can eat, the easier it is to gain muscle and lose fat. More salt and water will also help improve insulin sensitivity, so keep doing that. Better sleep, has lots of benefits, including better insulin sensitivity as well. Tip #4 - Specific Workouts How you exercise, what you do, how often all can make a huge difference in how you look. First, you need to lift heavier weights to create a more dense, harder looking muscle. Do sets at 6-8 reps to hit your fast-twitch muscles, as well as higher 10-15 reps. Both are needed. Secondly, exercising too much, too often, too long causes stress hormones such as cortisol and aldosterone to go up, while also DECREASING insulin sensitivity and testosterone levels. The end result not only will you start to lose muscle and also gain fat, but your muscles will be depleted, flat and “stringy” looking. This gives that “skinny/fat” look, rather than “lean/hard” look. So I suggest lifting weights for about 45 min, no more than an hour, 3-4x weekly or every-other-day. Tip #5 - Improve Your Hormones Because my background as a doctor is in endocrinology - the study of hormones, this is an area I’m most passionate about. This is why steroids work so well, not only in building muscle and losing fat, but making you look harder, fuller and more vascular. However, simply optimizing your own hormones naturally, will go a long way in making improvements in how you look, feel and perform. This is how I do it because it’s so much safer, healthier, easier to maintain and you won’t have any of the negative side-effects (hair loss, zits, man-boobs, high cholesterol, blood pressure, etc.) This means higher “positive” hormones - such as Testosterone, GH, IGF, DHEA, etc., while minimizing “negative” hormones such as estrogen, prolactin, cortisol, DHT, etc. #muscle #weightlifting #vascularity ======================================== ======================================== Thank you for watching. Top 10 Alkaline Foods You Should Be Eating Everyday

08:50
Not many people are aware, but the human body functions the best at a pH level that is slightly on the alkaline side. pH levels can range from 0, or completely acidic, to 14, completely alkaline. Ideally, the body’s pH levels should sit around 7.35 to 7.45 in order to function properly. Unfortunately, the majority of people consume a highly processed diet that is high in sugar. This causes the body’s pH to become acidic. Therefore, most of the people walking around today have pH levels that are not stabilized and are acidic. Luckily, the pH in the human body can be restored. Today’s video will discuss ten powerful foods that are consumed on the alkaline diet and can improve one’s health. 1. Spinach Spinach is a powerful vegetable that has many health characteristics, including its alkaline effects. This is largely due to it’s high content of chlorophyll, which causes the spinach to be an alkalizing agent to the body and restore the pH level back to its ideal. 2. Lemons This may be surprising, as lemons are often seen as an acidic fruit. However, they are actually high in alkaline properties. This is because once the citric acid in lemons are metabolized, they provide an alkaline effect on the body. They help to cleanse and detox the body, using essential minerals like calcium and iron. 3. Kale Kale is another powerful green that should be added to a daily diet. It has the ability to stabilize the body’s pH levels, while providing detoxification and antioxidant properties. Kale contains Vitamin A, Vitamin K, Vitamin C, Magnesium, Calcium, Copper, Potassium, Iron, Protein, Phosphorus and Manganese. 4. Avocados Avocados are another one of those foods that are packed with essential vitamins and minerals that help to flush out harmful toxins from the body and help to restore the body’s pH level to its optimum level. By doing so, avocados help the cardiovascular system, the immune system, the circulatory system and the digestive system. 5. Wheatgrass Wheatgrass also helps to detoxify the body. In doing so, it also helps to protect the liver from harmful toxins. Since it contains essential vitamins and minerals, along with ridding the body of toxins that weigh it down, wheatgrass helps to boost energy, lose weight, stabilize blood sugar and fight cancerous cells. 6. Celery Celery is a healthful food that is not given the credit it is deserved. Celery is normally found on every diet’s menu. This is largely because celery is a diuretic, as it helps the body to get rid of any excess fluids. Celery can also neutralize the acid in the body and bring the pH level back to a slightly alkaline level. 7. Broccoli Broccoli is one of the most important foods to eat in order to maintain an alkalized pH levels. That is because broccoli contains phytochemicals that alkalize the body, reduce estrogen dominance and increase estrogen metabolism. Broccoli also contains antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties. 8. Cucumbers Cucumbers are another food that have a high water content and help to flush out harmful toxins from the body. They can help to restore the pH level of the body by neutralizing the acids. They also help to reduce any inflammation within the body. 9. Bell Peppers One highly underestimated food is the bell pepper. Not only can the bell pepper help to neutralize the acid in the body and raise the pH level to alkaline, but it can help to reduce anxiety, lower blood pressure, reduce inflammation, and fight cancer. 10. Garlic Like many contained in this list, garlic has so many healthy characteristics that go far beyond restoring the pH level in the body. Garlic helps to support the body’s overall health. It contains Vitamin B1, Vitamin B6, Vitamin C, Calcium, Copper, Selenium and Manganese. It acts as an antibacterial food, an antiviral food, an antioxidant food, and an anti-fungal food. Let us know, have you tried the alkaline diet? What has your experience been like? After watching this video, do you plan to try anything else? Let us know in our comment section. I Ate One Meal A Day For 30 Days (RESULTS)

I ate one meal a day for over 30 days so here are my results. Learn what to expect with an omad diet meal plan. Eating one meal a day is a form of intermittent fasting for weight loss. Learn what to eat for 1 meal a day to lose weight and belly fat fast. 🔥 FREE 6 Week Challenge: https://gravitychallenges.com/home65d4f?utm_source=ytube&utm_term=results Fat Loss Calculator: http://bit.ly/2OWgZ4a Timestamps: # The Proper Way To Set Up This Diet Plan 0:47 # 23/1 Fasting To Feeding Split 1:30 # Metabolism Slow Down Is A Myth 2:00 # Adaptive Thermogenesis 2:50 # Thermic Effect Of Food 3:36 # Eating Patterns & Metabolic Activity 6:10 # Gluconeogenesis 6:28 # It May Not Be Right for Everyone 8:13 What would happen if you only ate one meal a day for the next 30 days. Would you lose weight and more specifically would you lose body fat or would you lose muscle mass? Or maybe your body would go into starvation mode and cause you to gain weight rather than lose it due to a slower metabolism? Well that's exactly what we're going to drive into in today's video. I've been eating one meal a day not every day but almost everyday for about 2 years now. And it's worked really well for me, so today I'd like to let you guys know what results you can expect if you stick to only one meal day for the next 30 days. Even though I've had quite a bit of experience with the one meal a day diet myself I'm going to be sharing scientific studies and evidence that will help you see both the pros and the cons of this diet approach. First I want to go over the proper way to set up this diet plan for yourself because there's not an abundance of information out there on the one meal a day diet like there is on shorter fasting protocols like intermittent fasting. So a lot of people that try to stick to this diet plan mess it up from the very get go and turn it into more of a warrior diet. And the warrior diet is great, but that's not what we're going for here. You see the warrior diet is a different form of fasting where you fast for 20 hours of the day and you give yourself a four hour feeding window for eating. If you don't set limits to the amount of time you spend eating you easily can drag out your one single meal into a buffet that lasts for hours. So it's very important that you understand that one meal a day is also a 23/1 fasting to feeding split. Meaning you only give yourself a 1 hour feeding window usually during the same time every day and you have to spend the other 23 hours of the day fasting. If it isn't already obvious OMad or the one meal a day diet helps you create a calorie deficit without really thinking about restricting calories. When you're only eating once a day especially when you do it the right way and limit it to under an hour, you can only fit so much into your stomach before your full. So really we're limiting calories by decreasing meal frequency. Which immediately can be a red flag for those people that believe that your metabolism slows down when you decrease meal frequency. However, numerous studies have proven this to be a myth. One study called "meal frequency and energy balance" combined and examined research from a bunch of different studies on the topic of meal frequency. And the researchers found that a nibbling pattern of eating or eating more frequently didn't present any advantage as far as the metabolic rate was concerned. So your metabolism is not going to automatically slow down from eating only one meal a day for 30 days. If you have the same amount of calories in that one meal as you would in 6 meals then your metabolism should remain the same in both situations. So does that mean that the "starvation mode" that we've all been warned about is a big phony scam? Well turns out it's actually not, it's actually called adaptive thermogenesis and it's a very real response that your body has. In response to a decrease in energy intake your body will decrease energy expenditure in an effort to avoid starvation. However adaptive thermogenesis will occur based on the total amount of energy or calories coming in. As long as you don't fast for over 48 hours It doesn't matter if those calories all come in at once or throughout the day. In fact shorter fasts that last under 48 hours have been shown to increase your metabolism between roughly 4 to 14 percent Research: Meal frequency does not accelerate or slow your metabolism: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/9155494 Effects of meal frequency on weight loss and body composition (meta-analysis): https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/26024494 3 meals per day vs 6 meals a day does not effect weight loss: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19943985 Resting Metabolism Increase from Short term fasting: ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/10837292 Metabolic response to a 48 hour starvation: ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/2405717 One meal a day vs three meals per day for 6 months: ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2121099/ ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2645638/

20 Foods That'll Help You Lose Belly Fat

12:32
These are the top 20 foods you should eat to help lose belly fat. Not only do these meals help you lose weight fast, but they'll also help you build lean muscle mass. Some of these are my person favorites so I truly consider these some of the best diet foods for weight loss for both men & women. You can create your own meal plan with these. Enjoy! 🔥 FREE 6 Week Challenge: https://gravitychallenges.com/home65d4f?utm_source=ytube&utm_term=twenty Fat Loss Calculator: http://bit.ly/2O4XdU7 TIMESTAMPS: Avocado 0:42 Eggs 1:17 Berries 1:46 Apple Cider Vinegar 2:20 Tuna 3:14 Salmon 3:37 Green Tea 4:01 Green Leafy Veggies 4:29 Chicken Breast 5:01 Sweet Potatoes 5:30 Oatmeal 5:52 Beans 6:19 Brown Rice 6:59 Chili Pepper 7:22 Grapefruit 7:42 Soup 8:09 Protein Powder 8:34 Coffee 9:11 Asparagus 9:59 Peanut Butter 10:19 If you're seriously trying to lose belly fat then you already know that diet is one of the most important pieces of the puzzle. With a proper diet plan where you're eating the right foods in the right amounts you'll strip off layer after layer of body fat and say goodbye to that belly forever. However, if you're eating the wrong things you'll only be setting yourself back further and further. With an improper diet plan you'll have to get used to loosening your belt notch after notch because your belly fat will be there to stay. So to ensure that you aren't making any mistakes with the food you're selecting I want to go over the 20 best foods that you should be eating regularly to lose that belly fat for good. The first food I want to start with is the avocado. Unlike other fruits that are loaded with carbs, Avocados are full of healthy monounsaturated fats specifically oleic acid. They are also full of fiber which will help you feel full for longer. Another great thing about avocados that was discovered during a study from The Ohio State University at Columbus is that avocados help you absorb more cartenoids from fruits and vegetables, up to 15x more to be exact. So not only will avocados help you burn fat, but you'll also be strengthening your immune system and absorbing more cancer fighting cartenoids than ever. Next we have eggs. Eggs are great to incorporate into your diet plan because they’re high in protein, high in healthy fats and they can help you feel full for a very low amount of total calories. Eggs are also one of the most bioavailable sources of protein out there. Meaning that your body can very efficiently digest, absorb, and assimilate the protein found in eggs. Having a solid protein source like eggs in your diet will help you prevent muscle loss while you eat less calories to create enough of a deficit to burn fat. Lets move on to one of the best fruits you can eat while trying to lose belly fat...berries. Compared to most other fruits berries are very low in carbohydrates, while being full in vitamins and antioxidants. These antioxidants can help improve blood flow delivering more oxygen to your muscles and your cells in general. Ultimately this can hep improve your workouts while assisting with the fat loss process. The best low carb berries to eat are blackberries, raspberries, and strawberries. Blueberries are going to be a bit higher in carbs, so to keep calories low stick with the other 3. The next food isn't really a food, but instead its a drink that's been proven very effective at helping you fight that belly fat...apple cider vinegar. Apple cider vinegar has been shown to help people lose weight and waist circumference. These aren't they typical animal studies that you constantly see that don't necessarily guarantee the same results for people. Instead these are human studies. One of these studies was 12 weeks long and it demonstrated that obese individuals could lose anywhere from 2.6 to 3.7 pounds just by consuming 1 to 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar per day. It has also been shown to improve blood sugar spikes after meals, and it can help increase fullness after a meal. In fact one study showed that taking apple cider vinegar with a high carb meal could result in people eating 200 to 275 less calories for the day. Keep in mind, you want to make sure that you dilute only one to two tablespoons of the apple cider vinegar in water. Don't drink it straight up. Next I have another high protein food for you and that's tuna. Tuna is a very lean fish that's pretty much entirely made up of protein. This makes tuna a great option to increase protein intake without increasing calorie intake too much. The important thing is if you're buying canned tuna you want to make sure you get the tuna in water not oil. If you get it in oil then all the extra calories that you save from this low fat fish will be canceled out. Fish in general is a great option for when you're trying to burn fat

Multivitamin Research: Should You Be Taking Them? - Thomas DeLauer

07:43
Click Here to Subscribe: http://Bit.ly/ThomasVid Website: http://ThomasDeLauer.com Get the Clothes I Wear at 25% Off - Use Code: TDSUMMER25 at http://www.Hylete.com Multivitamin Research: Should You Be Taking Them?- Thomas DeLauer… I'm hoping that with this video I can save you some serious money and I know that sounds funny, but I'm talking about your multivitamins. I'm talking about potentially ditching your multivitamins, if you're not someone that actually needs it. This video came to light simply because a lot of people that have talked to and a lot of people that I've worked with, have had a very, very hard time letting go of their multivitamins. They take these multivitamins and they see them as their crutch. They see them as the end all be all and their link to healthy eating or the void fill from the nutrients that they're missing from their food. But the reality is there's a lot more to just popping a multivitamin and getting your vitamins and minerals in. So first off what I want to look at is the fact that 50% of Americans take a multivitamin. That is a lot, a lot of people that are misled. A lot of people are leading themselves to believe that they're getting all their vitamins and minerals and getting what they need from a simple pill. Also in reality, we have to look at how much money is being spent. We're talking like $11 billion dollars that people are spending on multivitamins. That's a lot of money. Okay, so let's talk about what is happening with a multivitamin and why it may not be the best thing for you. I'm not discounting it. I'm not saying that everyone should avoid taking a multivitamin. There are some subcategories of people that might want to take them, but I want to talk about some reality when it comes down to just popping that pill. First thing I want to look at is too many nutrients, okay? The simple thing is we have to look at this. If our bodies have the ability to take in all these minerals and all of these vitamins at once, don't you think there would be a food out there that truly encompasses all of them? You see, normally we have to eat different subcategories of foods to ultimately make up our nutrients. Now, if it was so easy as just popping a pill, I think that a lot more people would be really, truly healthy and if it was really possible to absorb all those vitamins and minerals at once, I think we'd have some foods that contain all those vitamins and minerals. We have to remember that we require specific enzymatic functions to truly synthesize and utilize different vitamins, minerals, and metals within the body. Each vitamin that we take in each mineral that we take in has a different process to actually being utilized and if we take them all in at once, we're not really allowing the body to do that efficiently. You're much better off knowing what is going to work for you and isolating specific vitamins and specific minerals for your type, for your bio individuality. So the thing we have to look at with multivitamins and we have this constant competition going on. Okay? We have constant competition of different minerals that sometimes need to be elevated and sometimes need to be lower, but we also have way too much of specific minerals. References: 1) Inc., G. How to Naturally Overcome Vitamin B12 Deficiency

07:33
For more on Vitamin B12 foods, you can check out my article: https://draxe.com/top-10-vitamin-b12-foods/ In this video, I’m going to talk about how to overcome Vitamin B12 deficiency and the health benefits of Vitamin B12. Surprisingly, about 40% of the population is deficient. Some of the big warning signs that you are Vitamin B12 deficient are if you struggle with low energy, fatigue, lack of focus, poor memory, poor cellular function, autoimmune disease, anemia, or thyroid condition. The biggest reason most people have Vitamin B12 deficiency is because they don’t have a healthy digestive system to digest this vitamin properly, also known as leaky gut. If you can’t absorb nutrients and vitamins properly, then you won’t be able to absorb the vitamins you need for optimal health. People who struggle with leaky gut or digestive issues, vegans or vegetarians, and people who don’t have enough probiotics in their diet all tend to have a Vitamin B12 deficiency. Some of the benefits of Vitamin B12 include red blood cell formation, which is vital to heart health, cellular function, and supporting the brain and nerve system. If you want to overcome Vitamin B12 deficiency, then you must follow these specific steps: 1. Consume more Vitamin B12-rich foods (liver, wild-caught fish, grass-fed lamb and beef, and raw dairy products) 2. Take a Probiotic (increases absorption) 3. Heal your gut (getting inflammatory foods out of your diet) 4. Supplementation (Vitamin B12, B complex, desiccated liver supplement) If you can follow these steps, you will notice improvements immediately and overcome your Vitamin B12 deficiency. *This content is strictly the opinion of Dr. Josh Axe, and is for informational and educational purposes only. Vitamin B1 (Thiamine)

13:24
In this video you'll discover the nootropic benefits of Vitamin B1 (Thiamine). Including why we use Thiamine as a nootropic, recommended dosage, side effects and clinical research. Vitamin B1 (Thiamine) is the first of the B-Complex vitamins identified. And designated B1 as a result. Thiamine increases levels of thiamine pyrophosphate (TPP). TPP is directly involved in the citric acid (KREB) cycle in the brain. This cycle breaks fatty acids, amino acids and monosaccharides from the food you eat into smaller molecules that produce adenosine triphosphate (ATP) energy for your mitochondria. It’s also needed for the synthesis of DNA and RNA. Thiamine is critical for increasing energy, focus, and preventing memory loss. And can ward off inflammation. Thiamine also contributes to the production of the enzyme PDH which is essential for making the neurotransmitter acetylcholine. And for the synthesis of myelin, which forms a sheath around axons. Ensuring neurons can conduct signals. Vitamin B1 is found in lentils, whole grains, pork, red meat, yeast, nuts, sunflower seeds, peas, milk, cauliflower and spinach. Vitamin B1 is water soluble and is stored in your body for only 14 days. If you don’t get enough B1 you’ll experience irritability, confusion and memory problems. A severe deficiency can manifest itself as beriberi, pain, heart problems, or even paralysis. Thiamine defiency is more common than you think. Even when your lab tests show thiamine and thiamine pyrophosphate within range. It's still possible you are dealing with “mild thiamine deficiency”. Many report thiamine supplementation boosts attention, energy, and motivation. A reduction in brain fog and increased mental clarity with less anxiety. Those dealing with fibromyalgia and nerve pain report a significant decrease in pain levels. Neurohackers supplementing with Thiamine or Sulbutiamine report it makes an effective mosquito repellent. The recommended dosage of Vitamin B1 (Thiamine) according to the American FDA is 1.2 mg per day. Pregnant and breastfeeding women is a whopping 1.4 mg per day. Many neurohackers would laugh at these recommendations. “Mild thiamine deficiency” affects a significant segment of the population in any country. Most clinical studies use thiamine doses from 300 up to 1800 mg per day. See the transcript of this video on NootropicsExpert.com for full dosage instructions to treat various health issues. Most Vitamin B1 (Thiamine) supplements available from online retailers and vitamin shops come as Thiamine hydrochloride (HCl). And come in 50 – 500 mg tablets. But regular thiamine is not very bioavailable and has problems crossing the blood-brain barrier. As a nootropic, a good alternative to Thiamine is Sulbutiamine for cognitive enhancement. This indepth Vitamin B1 (Thiamine) review covers: 00:24 Thiamine as a nootropic 01:55 Thiamine vs Sulbutiamine: What's the difference? 02:26 How does Thiamine work in the brain? 04:32 Thiamine benefits 05:53 How does Thiamine feel? 07:20 Thiamine clinical studies 08:14 Thiamine recommended dosage 09:51 Thiamine side effects 10:15 Type of Thiamine to buy For more on Vitamin B1 (Thiamine) including a full transcript of this video and links to clinical studies, go to: https://nootropicsexpert.com/vitamin-b1-thiamine/ For more on Sulbutiamine, check out the video on this channel. Vitamin B1 as a Mosquito Repellent

02:13
https://www.tngun.com/vitamin-b1-as-a-mosquito-repellent/ Vitamin B1 (Thiamine) is a water soluble vitamin that, when taken internally, creates an odor in sweat that mosquitoes dislike. The smell is not noticeable to humans. The theory is, taking more vitamin B1 than your body requires causes the excess to be excreted through your urine, skin, and sweat. Vitamin B1 produces a skin odor that female mosquitoes seem to find offensive. A 1960s era study indicated that taking vitamin B1 (thiamine) may be effective in discouraging mosquitoes from biting. However, a June 2005 review article published in the "Journal of the American Mosquito Control Association" reported that of the scientific studies performed testing B vitamins as repellents, none found them to have significant repellent ability against mosquitoes. In addition, the American Mosquito Control Association says that vitamin based repellents, in general, do not work. Also, Vitamin B1 tested as a skin patch and did not repel mosquitoes, according an February 2013 study report published in "Acta Tropica." It May Not Work for You, But it Can't Hurt to Try This vitamin is water-soluble. Even in high doses, there is no danger of toxicity. Therefore, it is a safe measure to try. Dr. Janet Starr Hull recommends taking one vitamin B1 tablet a day from April through October, and then adding 100 mg of B1 to a B100 Complex daily during the mosquito season to make you less attractive to mosquitoes. I take a B Vitamin supplement to help with my Diabetes anyway, so it was not a stretch to see if it worked. Other Things to Try You may also want to forgo bananas during mosquito season, as something about how they are metabolized appears attract mosquitoes. Research also suggests that regularly consuming garlic or garlic capsules may help protect against both mosquito and tick bites.

Take This Vitamin And You Will NEVER Get Another Bite From A Mosquito Again!

03:18
Ah, summertime. Longer days, sunny skies, sandy beaches, and mosquitoes. Lots and lots of mosquitoes. For some, this isn’t too huge of an offer, as mosquito repellent has been on the market considering that 1956. However, if you’re like me at all and you not just desire to stop smelling like the burnt remains of a chemical plant after using repellent, but likewise are scared of the unfavorable results of DEET in sprays and are more susceptible to obtaining bit (seriously though, mosquitoes seemed to like me and only me at parties), then taking Vitamin B1 might be your conserving grace. Vitamin B1 (also called thiamine) is an important vitamin your body requirements. It can be discovered in foods such as yeast, oatmeal, brown rice, asparagus, kale, liver and eggs and is essential in fighting stress and boosting resistance. As one of the water-soluble vitamins, any excess that your body does not use gets flushed out when you urinate, so there’s no requirement to fret about taking excessive. What’s amazing about the relationship in between Vitamin B1 and mosquitoes is it has the possible to change the method you smell to the little buggers. Those with enough Vitamin B1 in their systems have the tendency to smell “yeasty” to mosquitoes, making them unappealing to bite. It does not, however, alter the way you smell to other people, so do not stress over smelling like old bread around your good friends. The research study on this is still inconclusive, but because taking additional thiamin everyday has no negative results, it might be worth a shot. I have actually personally tried this remedy myself with amazing results and have seen the very same outcomes in others that I have suggested this to. Certain conditions can decrease thiamine in the body such as chronic alcohol addiction, Crohn’s disease, anorexia and stomach bypass, so individuals with these conditions may benefit health-wise from taking an additional supplement. Interested in providing it a shot? Take 100 mg of thiamin every day. Within 2 weeks, you should begin noticing a decrease in the amount of times you’re annoyingly smacking these bugs away from your body. If taking thiamine does not work for you, attempt this natural mosquito repellent recipe to assist you avoid needing to use chemical warfare on your body as a repellent. Natural Mosquito Repellent Ingredients: Tea tree oil Lavender oil Witch hazel Cooled boiled water Guidelines: Fill an 8oz. spray bottle halfway with boiled water (permit it to cool off initially!). Include 1/2 tsp of witch hazel. Include 15 drops of tea tree oil. Add 15 drops of lavender.

What Is Vitamin B1? | Vitamins

01:20
Watch more Vitamins & Supplements videos: http://www.howcast.com/videos/497560-What-Is-Vitamin-B1-Vitamins The recommended daily allowance for vitamin B1, also known as thiamine, is 1.2 milligrams a day. It's not only necessary for mental health it's also great for your hair, skin, muscle growth, appetite, and digestion. To my drinkers and partiers out there, you need to know that alcohol actually destroys vitamin B1. As little as one drink a day can cause a vitamin B1 deficiency. Some early symptoms of vitamin B1 deficiency include depression, mood shifts, and mental dysfunctions. Vitamin B1 deficiency is actually not uncommon today because we eat a diet filled with refined, processed foods. To avoid becoming deficient make sure you're including plenty of B1 vitamin enriched foods. These foods include whole grains, liver, grass fed organic meats, nuts, and seeds. If you're eating a healthy diet, but are experiencing some of the symptoms I mentioned, it would be a good idea to get a B1 complex supplement. That way you'll know for sure that you're getting enough of the B1 vitamin.
