A Japanese Method to Develop Creativity in Kids

09:17
Subscribe to Bright Side : https://goo.gl/rQTJZz For copyright matters please contact us at: welcome@brightside.me ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Japanese people are known for their intelligence, politeness, and wellness. Why is this nation so unique and different from the rest of the world? It seems we’ve found the answer – they have an incredibly cool education system and unique teaching methods! Watch till the end – there is a small but brilliant bonus for you. Let’s start with a unique Japanese method in the schools for developing creativity in kids. We believe that the whole world needs to adopt! It’s called “Nameless paints.” Japanese designers named Yusuke Imai and Ayami Moteki created an unusual set to teach kids colors and painting. This fantastic set won the 2012 Kokuyo Design Award. Let’s see how it works. “Nameless paints” includes ten tubes that don’t have color names such as “yellow,” “blue,” or “green.” Instead, there are only spots of a particular color or colors on each tube. As you can see, the spots are also different sizes. The designers’ aim is to change the way kids think and learn. They want children to understand what shade they will get if they mix certain colors. For instance, a child looks at the tube with two spots: pink and blue. He doesn’t know what color hides inside. He squeezes the tube and gets… purple color! So, as a result, the kid learns that the same amounts of pink and blue paints create purple. Here’s another example – a tube with a big blue spot and small pink one. It means if you mix a small amount of the pink color and a large amount of the blue color, you’ll get dark-blue color. Interesting, right? As you can see, each tube hides a particular color inside. Pink, yellow, blue, purple, red, dark green, dark blue, orange, light-green, and black. However, to get one of these shades, the child should think about which colors create it. As a result, they learn how to create new colors and how to mix them. It’s an easy and fun way to understand the color theory. Recent studies have shown that free thinking is an attribute that a person can acquire over time, and the schools play the most important part in developing creativity. Now, here’s the bonus – 10 brilliant features of the Japanese education system the whole world needs to adopt. The success of the Japanese culture is very simple: they put a lot of effort and time in the education system trying to make it not only useful but also fun. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Our Social Media: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/brightside/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/brightgram/ 5-Minute Crafts Youtube: https://www.goo.gl/8JVmuC  ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For more videos and articles visit: http://www.brightside.me/

To complete a job, it takes: Alice and Bob 2 hours, Alice and Charlie 3 hours, and Bob and Charlie 4 hours. How long will the job take if all 3 work together? Top 10 Grad School Interview Questions

05:36
GradSchoolHeaven.com founder and Harvard graduate Giulio Rocca discusses the 10 most common interview questions asked by graduate schools. Web: http://www.gradschoolheaven.com Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/gradschoolheaven Twitter: https://twitter.com/gradheaven Abridged Transcript: Today, I'll be talking to you about the 10 most common graduate school interview questions. Some schools, particularly when applying to doctoral programs, will invite candidates to an on-campus interview. These interviews are generally frightening to candidates because there's not much in the way of guidance as to what to expect. 1. The first is to tell me more about yourself. There’s a good chance you’ll be asked this question. The most important thing that you want to do is to have a synthesized answer, no more than one or two minutes, that showcases your personal, academic, and professional accomplishments in a nutshell. In other words, a kind of preview. Don’t go on a rant, and don’t go on a tangent! 2. Second, you may be asked: why are you interested in this field? Again, go back to your personal statement and think about what you wrote in that statement and try to expand on it. Perhaps you can go deeper into some of the reason that you discussed or introduce addition reasons that were not discussed in the personal statement. in either case, try to make a compelling case as to why this particular field is what you were born to do. 3. Third, why are you interested in our school? This is almost certainly going to be asked in the interview process. Think about specific elements of the program that set it apart -- the faculty, the facilities, the curriculum, student activities, job placement record, and other reasons -- and make a compelling argument once again. 4. Fourth, what are you going to research? This is particularly relevant if you’re applying to a doctoral program, but for master’s applicants too there’s often a master’s thesis and this is something that you can mention. In answering this question, you don’t necessarily have to have a definitve answer that you’re going to be held accountable to, as much as you want to demonstrate that you’ve conducted some preliminary thinking on the subject and that you're a serious candidate for such research. 5. Fifth, think about your strengths and weaknesses; your interviewer may very well ask you to talk about them. For strengths, pick ones that are relevant to academia, for example critical thinking, quantitative abilities, qualitative abilities, research capabilities, and so forth. And with respect to weaknesses, try to pick weakness that are really weakness turning into strengths; so, for example, if you’re a soft-spoken individual you might say that your weakness is that you’re occasionally soft-spoken but that you’ve taken steps to be more assertive. 6. Sixth, you’ll probably be asked, in so many words, why they should accept you. Have a bullet-proof answer for this question. Talk about your personal, academic, and professional achievements, discuss your long-range plans and how you plan to take full advantage of the university’s resources to make them come true. You want to convince them that they’re not going to be wasting an admissions spot with you. 7. Seventh, you may be asked to discuss your career goals. If you’re applying to a doctoral program, it’s usually appropriate to discuss the probability of teaching, and if you’re applying to a master’s program you can also discuss the possibility of extending your studies in a doctoral program or professional applications. 8. Eight, you may be asked where else you’re applying. This is a very difficult question to navigate. If you answer and provide full details about all the place that you’re applying to, you may dilute your application to the university in question. On the other hand, if you’re too secretive you may alienate your interviewer. A possible middle of the road approach is to indicate that you’ve applied to a number of other universities, without being too specific, but reiterate how important it is for you to be accepted to the one that you’re talking about today. Reiterate your desire and how much you’d love to have a position in the program. 9. Ninth, you may be asked to discuss what you’ve read recently. Ideally, you should be able to cite scholarly publications, whether it’s journal articles or books published by academics that demonstrate that you’re connected with the community. 10. Tenth, you may be asked if you have any questions for the interviewer. Think about these questions carefully; you can prepare them ahead of time so you’re not nervous. Try to ask questions that either delve more deeply into the interviewer’s background and research interests or that explore aspects of the program that are not obviously stated on the web site or the marketing materials of the university.

Why “C” Students Are More Successful Than “A” Students

11:07
How to be More Successful. We all try to get good grades to later get a well-paid job and succeed in life. Most people including our parents believe it is a direct toad to success. However, according to Robert Kiyosaki, author of Why ‘A’ Students Work for ‘C’ Students and ‘B’ Students Work for the Government, it’s actually the other way around. It’s “A” students that end up being employed by “C” students. We found 8 reasons why “C” students are often more successful in life. Now that’s some food for thought if you want to transform your own life or give good advice to your kids. TIMESTAMPS “C” students question the significance of the academic system. 1:30 They’re not afraid to fail or get bad grades. 2:37 “C” students are risk takers. 3:39 They’re not submissive followers. 4:45 “C” students have people skills. 5:34 They find simpler ways to get things done. 6:30 “C” students are dreamers. 7:16 They have their own definition of success. 7:53 Music: https://www.youtube.com/audiolibrary/music SUMMARY -“C” students are more interested in a straightforward approach and unfortunately for them, academia doesn’t offer that. They hack their way into the system by taking on odd jobs or learning outside of school. -While “A” students aim for perfection on their first try, “C” students aren’t afraid to fail, even several times! They embrace their shortcomings and learn from them. -“C” students, who received their fair share of “Fs” in their academic life, aren’t afraid to leap into the unknown. They take calculated risks to figure out what they really want in life. -“C” students tend to question everything. They’re not the “Yes” group; they’re more like the “Yes, but…” team. -Besides experimenting in the work force, “C” students also devote themselves to building networks that can benefit them in the long run when they enter the real world. -“C” students don’t wanna put much energy into accomplishing a task, they’d rather be investing their time and effort in pursuing their dream. -“C” students are more interested in thinking about what they wanna do in life rather than being stuck in the four walls of a classroom. -“C” students decide what they want done, and “A” students are good at taking and follow these instructions. 08 common Interview question and answers - Job Interview Skills

12:25
08 common Interview question and answers - Job Interview Skills 1. "Tell me a little about yourself." You should take this opportunity to show your communication skills by speaking clearly and concisely in an organized manner. Because there is no right or wrong answer for this question, it is important to appear friendly. 2. "What are your strengths?" This is a popular interview question. They want to know what you think of yourself. Although this is a general question, there is a wrong and right answer. The wrong answer is a generic answer saying you are organized and friendly. Although it will not hurt you during the interview, it will certainly not help you either. Answer this question based on the type of job you are applying for. 3. "What are your weaknesses?" For this answer, you should display a weakness that can be seen as a strength. There are many types of answers that will work. Some answers will be good answers for certain jobs, while the same answer will be a bad answer for a different job. Select an answer that will work for the position you are applying for. 4. "Where do you see yourself in five years?" This question primarily depends on where you are in your career. A person with 5 years of experience will have different goals than a person with no work experience. This question is asked to see how serious a candidate is about his or her career. Some people might not know their goals, and some people might have goals of becoming rich and retiring early. Those are incorrect answers for this question. The type of answer you want to give is an ambitious answer that shows you really love your career. A good interviewer will read between the lines and find out if a person is going to be a hard worker or just a mediocre one. Being descriptive and shooting for a big goal is something interviewers want to hear. 5. "What do you know about our company?" A typical job interview question, asked to find out how much company research you have conducted, is "What do you know about this company?" Prepare in advance, and in a word, research, so you can provide relevant and current information about your prospective employer to the interviewer. 6. "Are you good at dealing with change?" Dealing with change is common in the work place. A simple yes will not be sufficient to impress the interviewer. This is another type of question where everyone will have similar answers. Of course everyone is going to claim being excellent dealing with change. You got to communicate that you are really good at dealing with change. 7. "Do you work well under pressure?" In most cases, the best answer to this question is answering yes. Working well under pressure is a good trait to have. However, I think if you answer that you work the same with pressure and without pressure, the interviewer will be more impressed. However, you will need to explain in words why this is better. 8. "How do you make important decisions?" There are many ways to answer this question, and if you have a reasonable method of making decisions, it will probably be sufficient. One answer I thought of included not being afraid of asking your manager. You can follow up by saying even the best needs mentoring, and you always want to improve. So basically, this could work as an answer, but depending on the job, you might have a better shot with an answer like my example.

My Path from High School to Medical School | High School Transcript Reveal!

05:17
In this video, I talk about my journey from high school to medical school. I didn't talk too much about extracurricular activities I did or the number of AP classes I took during high school because I honestly don't think it matters all that much for med school. That said, I do think high school is a great time to explore and develop who you are as a person and pursue hobbies and interests that make you UNIQUE. Getting into a "good college" definitely has its merits but it won't necessarily help you get into medical school. From my experience, medical schools look for people who have a variety of interests and hobbies. Doing well in college is obviously very important but as admittance to medical schools becomes more and more competitive, schools are looking beyond the numbers (GPA & MCAT) and starting to assess each applicant as a whole. As you will see, I was not the best student in high school and I wanted to be as transparent about that as I possibly can. I want to encourage everyone to not give up on your dreams even if you're not going to a "good" college or have a certain GPA. I also want to stress the importance of setting specific goals and working towards them. For me, realizing I wanted to go to medical school made such a huge difference in how I performed in school. If you are already a good student in high school and have tons of extracurricular activities, keep up the good work! But don't forget to LIVE your life and find time to do the things you love doing. Find your passion IN and OUTside of school. ________________________________________________________ Check out the rest of the videos that are part of this series: What's in my med school backpack: https://youtu.be/bAh4MxPb0iA FAQ about how to get into medical school: https://youtu.be/2PehxHQLBM4 What's in my white coat: https://youtu.be/KROFnLSDc7Y How a typical medical school schedule looks like: https://youtu.be/da917hZV-wo Useful Apps I use in Medical School: https://youtu.be/S-e3uA-SdG0 Typical Weekly Schedule of a Med School Student: https://youtu.be/da917hZV-wo Study Tips for Medical School and College: https://youtu.be/MUGnNH9AEX0 A Typical Day in Medical School: https://youtu.be/RgftpK99w2I How to Prepare and Study for the MCAT: https://youtu.be/iK8FK3o5lA0 Study Schedule of a Medical School Student: https://youtu.be/H9XFLqJ0Xb8 First Year vs Second Year of Medical School: https://youtu.be/T4cT-jZHCzY Med School Essentials Giveaway!: https://youtu.be/Vmt9G5zUDxU Staying Motivated in Medical School: https://youtu.be/RL2UtHdNkSQ A Typical Weekend in Medical School: https://youtu.be/ad-3Jf40i-Y Favorite Note Taking Tools and Stationery: https://youtu.be/QkfRgPD6QBQ My Path from High School to Med School: https://youtu.be/-3RJs7aSSOQ Typical Day in Medical VLOG: https://youtu.be/pWnktL1LAv8 -------------------------------------------------------------- Also find and follow us on Instagram and Twitter at: https://twitter.com/thestrivetofit https://instagram.com/thestrivetofit Snapchat: TheStriveToFit Check out our entire video catalog: http://goo.gl/BnyBsW Mailing Address: Jamie L.
