What do you learn in pharmacy school?
What Do You Learn In Pharmacy School? http://pharmacyschool.us Having an understanding of what you learn in school can help students be better prepared. Pharmacy school builds on many layers of knowledge, so outlined below is a general breakdown of education required to earn a Doctorate in Pharmacy. Pharmacy School Years 1,2,3 • Year 1 In year one of pharmacy school, students typically learn about a variety of basic pharmacy topics. Students will learn all about how drug formulation impacts delivery in the body, metabolic processing systems of the body and how they help people to function on a day-to-day basis, and about biological systems. Students will also begin to learn about pharmacy practice and professionalism. • Year 2 In year two of pharmacy school, learning will continue for some topics started in year one, and new topics will begin to be introduced. New topics in year two can include literature analysis/ Drug information and pharmacy law. Students may also begin coursework in therapeutics, which is the use of medications to treat and manage medical conditions. • Year 3 In year three of pharmacy school students are building up to experiential rotations. Therapeutics classes continue, pharmacy practice and professionalism courses can be taught here, as well as special courses about management and pharmacoeconomics, which is the economic study of medications and their use. Pharmacy School Year 4 • Year four of pharmacy school is typically reserved for experiential rotations. Some schools have preliminary rotations students complete in between year two and three, but this is not consistent across all schools. • Pharmacy schools will have required rotations students must complete, and then students will have choices for elective rotations for areas of interest. When choosing rotations, students should try to select areas of interest, even for required rotations. Pharmacy schools try hard to have numerous options of interest for all of their students. What do you learn in pharmacy school can be different by each school you go to. Pharmacy courses generally begin with basic concepts and transition to application in the real world. 08 common Interview question and answers - Job Interview Skills
08 common Interview question and answers - Job Interview Skills 1. "Tell me a little about yourself." You should take this opportunity to show your communication skills by speaking clearly and concisely in an organized manner. Because there is no right or wrong answer for this question, it is important to appear friendly. 2. "What are your strengths?" This is a popular interview question. They want to know what you think of yourself. Although this is a general question, there is a wrong and right answer. The wrong answer is a generic answer saying you are organized and friendly. Although it will not hurt you during the interview, it will certainly not help you either. Answer this question based on the type of job you are applying for. 3. "What are your weaknesses?" For this answer, you should display a weakness that can be seen as a strength. There are many types of answers that will work. Some answers will be good answers for certain jobs, while the same answer will be a bad answer for a different job. Select an answer that will work for the position you are applying for. 4. "Where do you see yourself in five years?" This question primarily depends on where you are in your career. A person with 5 years of experience will have different goals than a person with no work experience. This question is asked to see how serious a candidate is about his or her career. Some people might not know their goals, and some people might have goals of becoming rich and retiring early. Those are incorrect answers for this question. The type of answer you want to give is an ambitious answer that shows you really love your career. A good interviewer will read between the lines and find out if a person is going to be a hard worker or just a mediocre one. Being descriptive and shooting for a big goal is something interviewers want to hear. 5. "What do you know about our company?" A typical job interview question, asked to find out how much company research you have conducted, is "What do you know about this company?" Prepare in advance, and in a word, research, so you can provide relevant and current information about your prospective employer to the interviewer. 6. "Are you good at dealing with change?" Dealing with change is common in the work place. A simple yes will not be sufficient to impress the interviewer. This is another type of question where everyone will have similar answers. Of course everyone is going to claim being excellent dealing with change. You got to communicate that you are really good at dealing with change. 7. "Do you work well under pressure?" In most cases, the best answer to this question is answering yes. Working well under pressure is a good trait to have. However, I think if you answer that you work the same with pressure and without pressure, the interviewer will be more impressed. However, you will need to explain in words why this is better. 8. "How do you make important decisions?" There are many ways to answer this question, and if you have a reasonable method of making decisions, it will probably be sufficient. One answer I thought of included not being afraid of asking your manager. You can follow up by saying even the best needs mentoring, and you always want to improve. So basically, this could work as an answer, but depending on the job, you might have a better shot with an answer like my example.

How to speak fluently during interviews? –Interview Tips,Communication Skills,Confidence Building
Have you ever thought that you don’t stand a chance of getting that job you desire if:  You sometimes get stuck for words when speaking in English;  Using the right English tenses during a conversation or  You don’t know how to sound professional during important events such as job interviews and meetings Don’t worry! Today we would be providing you some great tips in which you can clear your interview rounds at ease. Now, What to be done Before the Interview : • Review the oral rating scale so that you know what the examiner will be checking for. • Practice beforehand by having a friend or colleague interview you with questions found on our recommended websites or other resources. You may want to record this and have a native English speaker listen to it with you to identify ways that you could have answered more naturally. During the Interview: • Relax: You are not expected to be perfect - just to be fluent enough to function easily in an English speaking office. • Keep talking: Try to give more than a 3 word answer to each question. The examiner wants to hear you talk more than the interviewer. The examiner cannot easily give you a score if you only say 'yes' and 'no'. • Speak slowly, audibly and clearly. If you tend to speak fast when you're nervous, try to speak slower. You'll be understood better. If you usually have a soft voice, make an effort to speak louder. It's impossible for an examiner to give you a score if she/he can't hear you. • Feel free to take control of the conversation. Interviewers have been advised to avoid talking about politics or other sensitive topics - but have not been given exact questions to ask. Thus, the content is not as important as your appearing 'fluent' - and a fluent conversationalist sometimes changes the subject • Don't memorize - or give a lecture. Remember that this is meant to be a conversation, not a recording of you reading, saying something you memorized or giving a lecture to your interviewer. In my view, there are a few other things you can do to improve your verbal facility, which includes: • Practice reading a short passage or an article from your daily newspapers or magazines. Tape-record it, so that you will know where to make adjustments and corrections. You can even invite a good buddy to listen so as to give you candid feedback. • Randomly pick up a photo or picture, and proceed to articulate as much as you can, about what you see in it • Every time after you have finished watching a movie or reading a story book, do your best to articulate the key ideas and salient points to yourself. As usual, you can tape-record and/or get a friend to listen. • Read a lot. Newspapers, novels, your textbooks, watch youtube videos etc. If you don't understand a word then internet is your best friend .. search for it and hear how it is pronounced. • Think in English (or the language you want to learn) • Always participate in the extracurricular activities even if its for small part , this way you can talk to more people. • Go for seminars and watch the speaker body language and try to ape him..Slowly you will know your style what works for you. At last we would summarize as don't be too concerned about your stuttering. Just focus on your objective to practice speaking fluently, and proceed to speak naturally. Yes, it takes an iota of personal courage, but that's the process of natural learning. Also remember, fear is essentially a perceived notion, and always a transient event. It will pass. Medical School vs College Comparison
College versus Medical School! Use code 'EARLYBIRD' to get $25 off your purchase at http://medschoolinsiders.com. Vlog Channel: http://youtube.com/lifeofasurgeon In this video we compare college/university to medical school, going over: 1) Material 00:35 2) Grading 01:58 3) Schedule and Time 02:48 4) Class Exams and Tests 04:12 5) Standardized Tests (MCAT and Step) 05:13 6) Cost and Financing School 05:44 Medical school and university share many similarities but also many differences. Some of the differences may surprise you, such as the fact that medical school material may not be as difficult as your college courses! In terms of material, you must complete some prerequisite courses prior to applying to med school. However, other classes are highly dependent on your major. In medical school, everyone studies the same material. The pace is much faster than in college. That's why you often hear that learning in medical school is like drinking water from a fire hydrant. Being a competitive med school applicant requires straight A's and a top MCAT score. Because of this, college pre-med culture is often cut throat and stressful. Medical students are stressed out as well, but pass/fail grading helps reduce the pressure to outperform your peers. You will have less free time in medical school. You don't get to choose your class schedule. Exams do not follow the standard quarters and semesters with evenly spaced midterms and finals. The good news is that medical school has fewer concurrent classes and therefore fewer exams. The bad news is that each of these exams covers much more information. Also, you're unlikely to have multiple large exams on the same day or even same week in medical school. The MCAT is a challenging standardized test, but it pales in comparison to the beasts that are USMLE Step 1 and USMLE Step 2CK. In terms of costs, medical school is more expensive than university. I'll go over how to fund medical school and college, referring to scholarships, grants, and loans, in a future video! Medical School Personal Statement - Free Tips!
From a former UCLA medical school admissions committee member! Get editing at http://bit.ly/medschoolcoach1 from real experts who have been on admissions committees! And, for more about everything it takes to get into a top medical school, check out my eBook 10 Steps to Accepted at http://bit.ly/10-steps-to-accepted The personal statement should answer the following question: Use the space provided to explain why you want to go to medical school. The available space for your response is 5300 characters, or approximately one full page. Make sure you answer this question! We want to know what drives you to go to medical school. For more keys to the medical school essay, visit: http://www.medical-school-insider.com/medical-school-personal-statement.html. My recommendation is to make it about your journey from an initial interest in medicine to passion and commitment to medicine. You also want one particular theme to stand out through the medical school essay. This is your "MO." When we finish reading your essay, we should remember something particular about you. So, as you outline your essay, think about what your MO will be. Maybe it will be serving the underserved. Your first sentence is very important. Make it something catchy. You can try to involve multiple senses in that opening sentence. For example, "The smell of rotting garbage filled the street" involves the sense of smell and somewhat of sight as you begin thinking of what a street would look like that smelled like rotting garbage. I want to read more after I read that sentence, so it's a good "hook." Next, outline your medical school personal statement according to the important experiences you had that pointed you to medicine. Remember to relate each experience back to your MO so that comes back through the essay. Finally, finish with a summary of your experiences and a power statement that gives the committee something to remember you by. Here's the concluding paragraph from my medical school essay: Not only have I had the chance to be a mentor, I have had the chance to be mentored by inspiring physicians. I sat in the small whitewashed room with Dr. Petrie, waiting for our next patient. Dr. Petrie had flown us from Fullterton, California to Mexico at his own expense in his 4-seater yellow Bonanza aircraft. That was quite a ride. A man in cowboy boots and hat came into the small whitewashed room with his family, rolled up his plaid sleeve and showed us a large growth on his right bicep. Dr. Petrie asked a few questions about it and whether he wanted it removed. When the man said yes, Dr. Petrie replied with a smile, "So you don't want to look like a strong man anymore?" There was a sense of relief in the laughter of the man and his family. They knew that the person who would perform the surgery cared not just about the growth but about the man. I want to be that kind of doctor. The kind who shows he cares with a smile. The kind that takes the time not only to prescribe, but to educate. The kind dedicated to healing and helping. That's who I want to be. Some common pitfalls are sounding arrogant (which will sink you fast), not answering the question asked, and making it too much of a summary of what you've done and not enough about your passion. Writing the essay can be tricky, and you definitely want someone to look through it. We offer editing at MedSchoolCoach here: http://bit.ly/medschoolcoach1. We've all been on admissions committees so we know what schools are looking for. Other good resources are your premed office or the writing center at your college. Personal statement editing is a great idea, and editing of your AMCAS is maybe even more important.
