How Long is Pharmacy School?

02:34
How Long is Pharmacy School? READ MORE https://pharmacyschool.us/2016/07/30/how-long-is-pharmacy-school/ While the length of schooling for doctors, some nursing degrees, and other specialties can be daunting, rest assured that pharmacy school is not that long. Pharmacy school generally lasts about 4 years of professional study, with varying options for pre-professional study. What is pre-professional study? Pre-professional studies are courses you take or degrees you earn prior to going to pharmacy school. Some programs require very little while others require full four-year degrees. There are pros and cons for each option. For instance, time spent in pre-professional studies can better prepare students for pharmacy school, however it can make the total time spent in pharmacy school longer. Can I go to pharmacy school right after high school? How long is pharmacy school if I do this? Yes! Should you choose to enter pharmacy school directly after high school, keep in mind your first two years will still be spent doing “pre-pharmacy” coursework before you enter your professional courses. If you enter into pharmacy school directly after high school, it is typically still 6 years of schooling to earn your pharmacy degree. If I want to go to non-pharmacy University first Pharmacy professional programs are typically four years in length starting with 1-2 years of heavily didactic courses, progressing into more experiential learning, and a final year of practical rotations. Total time spent earning a Doctorate in Pharmacy degree, in this instance, could range then from 6 years all the way to 8 or 9 years depending on your education path. Training Beyond School s the profession of pharmacy continues to advance, post-graduate training offers opportunities for more education and experience, helping graduates practice at the top of their licensing. Post-graduate training includes a yearlong residency in almost every field of pharmacy. These experiences are considered to be equivalent to three years of on-the-job experience due to the level of intensity and workload of the programs. So, how long is pharmacy school? It is typically 4 years with many options before and after to extend that time. Key thoughts for students considering pharmacy school should be around the value of time spent learning prior to pharmacy school, and the value of post-graduate training. Pharmacist Job Outlook: Finding a Job after Pharmacy School

02:52
Pharmacist Job Outlook: Finding a Job After Pharmacy School. The Pharmacist Job Outlook has been miscommunicated, to say the least. When prospective pharmacy students search for descriptions of a pharmacist job, they often find outdated and misleading information. The Bad News The U.S. Bureau of Labor and Statistics reports pharmacist job loss over the next 10 years for a particular sector: retail, mail, and specialty pharmacies. The Good News While pharmacist jobs are decreasing in retail, mail, and specialty pharmacies jobs will be increasing in almost every other field of pharmacy, particularly those jobs which are more clinically advanced. The Opportunity for New Pharmacists Why is the pharmacist job outlook so great? Well, there are a few key things to highlight: • The practice of pharmacy is always changing Pharmacists are not doing the same things they did decades ago. “Pharmacist” no longer only means the person who mixes your drugs behind a counter. Now, to be a pharmacist can mean anything from mixing life-saving IV nutrition to electronic prescription checking. • Diverse Job Opportunities With jobs predicted to decline in one area of pharmacy, this message is essential. While it would be nearly impossible to list all of the potential pharmacist jobs, here are some areas of pharmacy you may not have heard of:  Academia (educator type of role)  Veterinary pharmacy  Nuclear pharmacy  Industry (clinical trials, prescriber education, drug sales)  Independent pharmacy  Consultant pharmacy  Managed care (healthplan or insurance company) • Location, location, location Location has a huge impact on the pharmacist job outlook. Larger metropolitan areas may have different job outlooks depending on the type of pharmacist position, but in general rural areas have fewer pharmacists to fill the current needs, not to mention growing needs. • People will always need medication The most important thing about the pharmacist job outlook is that people will always need medication. Even as medicine advances, medications are central to treatment and management of almost every disease or condition. In summary, the pharmacist job outlook is bright as pharmacists move forward in the advancement of the profession. No longer limited to one kind of practice, but asked to join other medical professionals in patient care. For more information, visit our website or follow the link in the description. What are the different types of pharmacists?

02:39
What are the different types of pharmacists? http://pharmacyschool.us There are many different types of pharmacists in the field of pharmacy. Some types of pharmacists are more well-known than others, largely due to the level of interaction with patients. Community Pharmacist Community pharmacists are some of the most widely recognized pharmacists and significantly contribute to pharmacists being among the most trusted healthcare professionals. These different types of pharmacists work in pharmacies that dispense prescription medications. You probably recognize them as the people in white lab coats working behind the counter at your local drug store. These pharmacists are responsible for ensuring prescriptions received from doctors are accurate and appropriate. Hospital Pharmacist Hospital pharmacists are pharmacists who work within a hospital setting. This can look very different depending on the type of hospital and magnitude of pharmacy program. Hospitals can have a mixture of pharmacy services where pharmacists spend part of their time on a hospital floor and part of it in the central pharmacy. Each area has different responsibilities and the way these responsibilities are fulfilled can vary widely. Ambulatory Care Pharmacist Ambulatory care pharmacists work in doctor’s offices alongside physicians and even in community pharmacy settings. These positions often require training after pharmacy school. These types of pharmacists have a lot of interaction with patients in both the clinic setting and the community pharmacy setting. Ambulatory Care Pharmacists working in a clinic can help reduce patient burden on providers while practicing at the top of their licensure to ensure great patient care. Managed Care Pharmacist These different types of pharmacists generally work for an insurance company or health plan. Managed care pharmacists are typically responsible for reviewing prior authorizations (PAs), which are a tool used by a health plan to manage the use of certain medications by those it insures. When reviewing PAs, pharmacists use criteria and clinical knowledge to determine if there is a better medication option or not. This brief primer looks at a few different types of pharmacists- but there are so many more niche options available. For more information, visit our website or follow the link in the description. How to Prepare for Pharmacy School: A Step by Step Guide

02:20
How to Prepare for Pharmacy School: A Step-by-Step Guide READ MORE: https://pharmacyschool.us/2016/09/03/how-to-prepare-for-pharmacy-school/ Students who know how to prepare for pharmacy school are more likely to be informed and prepared for the application and schooling process, ultimately leading to greater success after school. Get experience... early Experience can mean a few different things. Students can gain experience through shadowing opportunities, on the job training and community service, to name a few. When shadowing, try to shadow at least 3 different kinds of pharmacists to get an idea for the variations that exist in pharmacy practice. If pharmacy is a field you are still interested in after gaining first-hand experience, then consider the following: 1. Take courses most closely aligned with pharmacy courses This means math and science. Pharmacists are responsible for understanding complex processes within the body and calculating complex drug mathematics, so an aptitude in these two fields is very beneficial. That being said, pharmacy is so diverse that even people stronger suited to arts and literature types of material can still be successful. 2. Get involved This can mean many different things, but preferably something health sciences related. Many high schools and even Universities have “pre-med” clubs, which can include field trips to health care facilities, discussions about various jobs, or volunteer opportunities centered around medical care. 3. Do your homework Students preparing for pharmacy school should be looking at what coursework it takes to meet the requirements for pharmacy school, and be thinking about where to take the courses. There are many options including community college, State Universities, private Universities, and more. Most pharmacy schools require similar components of pre-requites ahead of pharmacy courses, which is about 2-3 years worth of schooling. In summary, following these three steps will help students wondering how to prepare for pharmacy school. Each step should be tailored to your interests and abilities, because above all else preparing for pharmacy school is about identifying and pursuing your passion. Law of attraction | How to use law of attraction | law of attraction method [WORKING 100%] Get Materials at this link: ►► https://tinyurl.com/yd2hm8t8 ◄◄ The good news is... There’s actually a way to literally hypnotize your brain to ONLY focus on what you really want. While also ERASING years of negative, limiting thinking almost instantly. Even better, you’re about to discover why this simple pair of headphones will become your most treasured possession Capable of helping you automatically turn that sub-atomic particle into the life of your dreams. When everything else, including the Law of Attraction, meditation and visualization have failed. If it sounds too good to be true, it’s not. Imagine, no more struggling, No more making decisions out of fear, No more feeling like you don’t belong here in this body, on this planet. Are you ready to HAVE everything you’ve ever dreamed and fantasized about, but never really BELIEVED you could achieve? Now, what if someone can reprogram your brain to automatically have UNLIMITED wealth, happiness, pleasure, love, freedom and confidence. Would you want it? Your brain is a super computer. Capable of “learning” new things… Without YOU, the person, ever having to “learn” anything. Because It’s not your “conscious mind” that’s manifesting what you are and have. It’s a part of your brain that most people will never directly access, no matter how much they “learn” in school, seminars or books. But there’s actually a way to easily and directly access this part of your brain, where you automatically create your reality… and instantly change it. My name is Eddie Sergey. I’m not a scientist, a medical doctor or a psychologist.I’m a 4th grade dropout. I didn’t go to high school. I didn’t go to college. I didn’t read books. I didn’t even homeschool or have a curriculum. I was a feral hippie kid. Often homeless, always poor, and completely on my own. I’ve spent years of my life not knowing where my next meal would come from… or if I could find a floor to sleep on, rather than sleeping in the wet, dark, Maui jungle. And whatever you’re feeling; whatever brought you here today, like financial struggles, autoimmune disease or a feeling of endless stress and fear in the pit of your stomach… I get it. And I know what it’s like to passionately, and desperately want to believe I CAN change my reality with my mind. But when it came down to daily life, I just didn’t trust it. I didn’t truly believe. Because I had been so powerless, for so long. Until this sound…Changed my life, forever. So please, read this page all the way through. I’m going to reveal the one thing I discovered. The one thing that transformed me From feral, homeless, hippie kid struggling to overcome my “brain cancer death sentence” struggling to eat, because we couldn’t even afford the dollar menu at Burger King struggling to feel safe… in such an unsafe-feeling world…Into self-made financially-abundant entrepreneur. Now, if you’re thinking “Okay Eddie, so how does a now 37-year-old man, who has ZERO conventional education, work for himself, and live financially independently?” Well, I’ll tell you my quick, full story in a minute and: How I used a simple pair of headphones to overcome my “poor” programming or mindset and achieved an incredible amount of wealth and abundance in my life. But first, it’s important to understand HOW I even discovered this, and why “learning” from books, tutors, masters and teachers never worked for me. In fact, “learning” became my enemy. And I’ve since discovered that “learning” is the worst thing you can ever do, if you want to deliberately and effortlessly change your life. Because it isn’t your “smarts” that creates or manifests anything in your life. In fact, your intelligence, or what “you think you know”, gets in the way of letting in, what you’re asking The Universe for. Here’s what I mean: How many times in the last 5 minutes did you intend for something better, like more money, only to immediately think about and talk about what you don’t want? Now, if you’re like most people, including me, It’s hard to take your attention away from the circumstances you don’t want. That’s because your subconscious CAN’T let you focus on what you want. Here’s what I mean: Your subconscious is programmed to FORCE your attention to “see” what “it” wants you to see. It’s like a super computer, and it’s being run by OLD software. What is Pre-Med? | How to Prepare For Medical School and What You Should Know

06:56
When entering into college many students plan on becoming medical doctors, but one thing that students are often confused about is "What is the best pre-med major?" Historically students have used Chemistry and Biology to satisfy their prerequisites for medical school, however, this is not a requirement. In fact, many schools have seen an increase in the number of Liberal Arts applicants. You will learn why just having strong academics is not enough to get into medical school and what factors make you a strong applicant. In this video, you will learn what it means to be pre-med, the classes you will be required to take, and the key steps you will need to follow in order to get into medical school. Medical admission boards are most interested in your grades, your extracurriculars, a high MCAT score, and how you conduct yourself in your interviews. Getting into medical school is very competitive and there is no perfect formula, but if you follow these steps you will start yourself in the right direction to get into the medical school of your dreams. *************************************************** ► For more information on math, science, and engineering majors, check us out at https://majorprep.com *************************************************** ► Patreon: https://patreon.com/majorprep ► PayPal: https://www.paypal.me/majorprep ► Facebook: https://facebook.com/majorprep

Critical Thinking - Improve Critical Thinking with this Simple Tip!

05:25
Critical Thinking -- http://www.noahhammond.com Today, we are going to be talking about critical thinking and how you can MASSIVELY improve your critical thinking with this one simple tip. The way I absolutely LOVE to structure and implement critical thinking in my life as a daily part of my existence is with something I call the "How to" board. It's VERY simple. The Power of A Simple Board! All I have is a white board on the wall that is designated as my "how to" board. Primarily, what's up there are "how to" questions that I do not yet know the answer to. Now, why is this SO helpful to your critical thinking? I was going through a Tony Robbins course where he brought up a really valid point. He said: "The quality of your thoughts is primarily what makes up the quality of your life". Particularly, he said that what our brain does is answer questions. So, if you give your brain poor quality questions to answer you will have a poor quality life. For example, if you ask your brain a question: "Why am I so fat?" Well, you are going to get answers that looks like: "You are lazy. You are dumb. You cannot help yourself from eating. You are a loser." Poor questions get you poor answers. But, if you take some of your awareness to CRITICALLY thinking more often, you are going to start to get some CRITICAL answers. These are generally the answers that move your life forward the FASTEST, the most powerfully, and the most progressively. Once the answers to these questions become known, you start to see a DRASTIC improvement in your life. It's very simple. If you feed your brain quality questions, you will get quality answers and you will live a quality life. This is exactly why critical thinking is SO important. This is exactly why the "how to" board has really impacted my life. Now, this is something I have only started doing about six weeks ago, but I can tell you that in only that short amount of time I have already filled up this huge white board three times with how-to questions that upon writing them, I didn't know the answers to. But over time, over the next couple of days, or maybe the next week, maybe even two weeks, simply by looking at that board for five minutes a day and allowing the answers to enter into my life, I have wiped out boards full of how-to questions that I did not know the answers to previously. One important little tip. I will tell you about how to use the how-to board is do not stress yourself trying to get the answers immediately. Do not write "How to (blank)?" and then "Hmmm...I got to know this!" It does not quite work like that. It's helpful that you bring your awareness to these things several times per day. It's going to help you CONSTANTLY have your sub-conscious mind and awareness working on these problems. I can't tell you how many times I have come up with an answer in the shower, during a workout, or while doing something COMPLETELY unrelated. That's the real power of the how-to board. Simply by looking at it a couple of minutes a day and keeping these things in your awareness, your subconscious faculties will be actively working and solving these problems. The main advice is don't try to force it and to allow it to come through. That is my tip for your increased critical thinking -- the how-to board. It is a super simple structure for putting daily critical thinking into your life and for improving your life through quality questions and quality answers. Let me know what are some of the how-to's that are going up on your how-to board! Leave me the comment below. As always, please like the video if you liked it. Subscribe to my channel. Med School: My Advice to High School and Premed students

07:07
Hey, I'm Student Doctor Thompson In this video I share some advice I have for High School and Premed students who wish to get into medical school. I skimmed over the "traditional" advice and went into what I think is much more important. I don't think you should forget about YOU. Medical school will be an option for just about anyone who wants it badly enough, so I'm not as concerned about you getting accepted, because I know if it is important enough it WILL happen, as I am concerned about the quality of life doctors will have in the future. It all starts with high school when we can really step back and make sure life isn't so serious that we loose track of what it is really all about and head for an unwavering path to premed, med school, residency, and a career that we aren't really even sure we want anymore. I talk about ruling out other options before starting medical school, hopefully to avoid having a mid-life crisis of sorts, or a mid-training crisis and hopefully to avoid leaving medicine all together. Anyways, it is clear that I'm not very good at writing, so I'll stop. Thank you for watching, please comment if you feel so inclined, and please subscribe to follow future videos from yours truly.
