Trump creates "space force" as new military arm

01:47
U.S. President Donald Trump on Monday said he was ordering the establishment of a sixth branch of the military to clear the way for American dominance of space. Colette Luke has more. (SOUNDBITE) PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP SAYING: "We're going to have the space force..." President Trump says he's ordered the Department of Defense to begin creating a space force as a 6th branch of the military…. (SOUNDBITE) PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP SAYING: "our destiny beyond the earth is not only a matter of national identity, but a matter of national security/ It is not enough to merely have an American presence in space. We must have American dominance in space" But that may not be so easy… The United States is a member of the Outer Space Treaty, which bars the stationing of weapons of mass destruction in space… And it mandates that the moon and other celestial bodies may only be used for peaceful purposes… (SOUNDBITE) PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP SAYING: "we are going to have the air force and we're going to have the space force.. Separate but equal. Trump is scaling up U.S. space exploration as a hedge against Russia and China who are also eager to be the superpowers of the outerworld… In December, Trump signed a directive enabling astronauts to return to the moon for the first time since 1972.. He also wants US astronauts to go to Mars…and is promoting American entrepreneurial efforts, along with NASA to lead the mission. Elon Musk's SpaceX company already has plans to launch an unmanned mission to the Red Planet in 2022. "I've always said that rich guys seem to like rockets so all those rich guys that are dying for our real estate to launch those rockets… we won't charge you too much, just go ahead, if you beat us to Mars, you'd be very happy and even more famous.. they do like rockets, they like those rockets…" Rockets that Trump says will form an important part of his strategy for US dominance in space. Putin puts a SHOW OF MILITARY POWER to show US Military who is boss

11:07
A great video of Russian military power in Russian military exercise. The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation (Russian: Вооружённые Си́лы Росси́йской Федера́ции, tr. Vooruzhonnije Síly Rossíyskoj Federátsii) are the military service of Russia, established after the dissolution of the Soviet Union. On 7 May 1992, Boris Yeltsin signed a presidential decree establishing the Russian Ministry of Defence and placing all Soviet Armed Forces troops on the territory of the Russian SFSR under Russian control.[5] The commander-in-chief of the armed forces is the president of Russia. Although the Russian armed forces were formed in 1992, the Russian military dates its roots back to the times of the Kievan Rus'. The armed forces are divided into: the three "branches of Armed Forces" (вида вооружённых сил): the Ground Force, Air Force, and the Navy the three "separate troop branches" (Отдельные рода войск): the Strategic Missile Troops, the Aerospace Defense Forces and the Airborne Troops the Rear of the Armed Forces, which has a separate status of its own There are additionally two further "separate troop branches" maintained by the Ministry of the Interior, the Border Force and the Internal Troops. These are not normally included as branches of the "Armed Forces" but are nonetheless used in armed conflicts. The number of troops is specified by decree of the President of Russia. On 1 January 2008, a number of 2,019,629 units, including military of 1,134,800 units, was set.[6] In 2010 the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) estimated that the Russian Armed Forces numbered about 1,040,000 active troops and in the region of 2,035,000 reserves (largely ex-conscripts).[7] As opposed to personnel specified by decree, actual personnel in the forces and paid was reported by the Audit Chamber of Russia as 766,000 in October 2013.[8] As of December 2013, the armed forces are at 82 percent of the required manpower.[9] According to SIPRI, Russia spent nearly $72 billion on arms in 2011. Russia is planning further increases in its military spending, with draft budgets showing a 53% rise in real terms up to 2014. However, SIPRI adds that many analysts are doubtful whether the industry will be able to deliver on such ambitious plans after decades of stagnation following the collapse of the Soviet Union.[10] Structure[edit] The Defence Ministry of the Russian Federation serves as the administrative body of the Armed Forces. Since Soviet times, the General Staff has acted as the main commanding and supervising body of the Russian armed forces: U.S. expert William Odom said in 1998, that 'the Soviet General Staff without the MoD is conceivable, but the MoD without the General Staff is not.'[22] However, currently the General Staff's role is being reduced to that of the Ministry's department of strategic planning, the Minister himself, currently Sergey Shoygu may now be gaining further executive authority over the troops.[citation needed] Other departments include the personnel directorate as well as the Rear Services, railway troops, Signal Troops and construction troops. The Chief of the General Staff is currently General of the Army Valery Gerasimov. The Russian military is divided into three services: the Russian Ground Forces, the Russian Navy, and the Russian Air Force. In addition there are three independent arms of service: Strategic Missile Troops, Russian Aerospace Defense Forces, and the Russian Airborne Troops. The Air Defence Troops, the former Soviet Air Defence Forces, have been subordinated into the Air Force since 1998. The Armed Forces as a whole are traditionally referred to as the Army (armiya), except in some cases, the Navy is specifically singled out. Since late 2010 the Ground Forces as well as the Air Forces and Navy are distributed among four military districts: Western Military District, Southern Military District, Central Military District, and the Eastern Military District which also constitute four Joint Strategic Commands — West, South, Central, and East. Previously from 1992 to 2010, the Ground Forces were divided into six military districts: Moscow, Leningrad, North Caucausian, Privolzhsk-Ural, Siberian and Far Eastern and Russia's four fleets and one flotilla were organizations on par with the Ground Forces' Military Districts. These six MDs were merged into the four new MDs, which now also incorporate the air forces and naval forces. There is one remaining Russian military base, the 102nd Military Base, in Armenia left of the former Transcaucasus Group of Forces. It likely reports to the Southern Military District. The Navy consists of four fleets and one flotilla: Northern Fleet (HQ at Severomorsk) subordinated to Joint Strategic Command West. Baltic Fleet (HQ at Kaliningrad in the exclave of Kaliningrad Oblast) subordinated to Joint Strategic Command West.

Do know how big China military is?

07:07
Members of a Chinese military honor guard. China possesses the largest standing army in the world, with around 2.3 million active personnel. Its ground forces alone total 1.7 million soldiers. With 2.3 million active troops, the People's Liberation Army (PLA) is the largest standing military force in the world, commanded by the Central Military Commission (CMC).The PLA consists of the People's Liberation Army Ground Force (PLAGF), the People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN), the People's Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF), and a strategic nuclear force, the Second Artillery Corps. According to the Chinese government, China's military expenditure in 2012 totalled US$100 billion, constituting the world's second-largest military budget. However, other nations, such as the United States, have claimed that China does not report its real level of military spending, which is allegedly much higher than the official budget. A 2007 report by the US Secretary of Defense noted that "China's actions in certain areas increasingly appear inconsistent with its declaratory policies". For its part, China claims it maintains an army purely for defensive purposes. As a recognized nuclear weapons state, China is considered both a major regional military power and a potential military superpower. As of August 2011, China's Second Artillery Corps is believed to maintain at least 195 nuclear missiles, including 75 ICBMs. Nonetheless, China is the only member of the UN Security Council to have relatively limited power projection capabilities. To offset this, it has developed numerous power projection assets -- its first aircraft carrier entered service in, and it maintains a substantial fleet of submarines, including several nuclear-powered attack and ballistic missile submarines.[243] China has furthermore established a network of foreign military relationships that has been compared to a string of pearls. China has made significant progress in modernizing its air force since the early 2000s, purchasing Russian fighter jets such as the Sukhoi Su-30, and also manufacturing its own modern fighters, most notably the Chengdu J-10 and the Shenyang J-11, J-15 and J-16. China is furthermore engaged in developing an indigenous stealth aircraft, the Chengdu J-20, and numerous combat drones. China has also updated its ground forces, replacing its aging Soviet-derived tank inventory with numerous variants of the modern Type 99 tank, and upgrading its battlefield C3I and C4I systems to enhance its network-centric warfare capabilities. In addition, China has developed or acquired numerous advanced missile systems, including anti-satellite missiles, cruise missiles and submarine-launched nuclear ICBMs. As a result of these breakthroughs, China has been perceived as attempting to match the United States in military technology, although some analysts note that the American military remains far more capable than the PLA.

Top 10 World War 2 Bombers [HD]

07:22
The Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress is a four-engine heavy bomber aircraft developed in the 1930s for the United States Army Air Corps (USAAC). Competing against Douglas and Martin for a contract to build 200 bombers, the Boeing entry outperformed both competitors and exceeded the Air Corps' expectations. Although Boeing lost the contract because the prototype crashed, the Air Corps was so impressed with Boeing's design that they ordered 13 more B-17s for further evaluation. From its introduction in 1938, the B-17 Flying Fortress evolved through numerous design advances. Two variants: the B17E & B17F were primarily employed by the United States Army Air Forces (USAAF) in the Daylight Precision strategic bombing campaign of World War II, against German industrial and military targets, in 1942. The United States Eighth Air Force, based at various airbases in the Southern counties of England, and the Fifteenth Air Force, based in Italy, complemented the RAF Bomber Command's night-time bombing campaign in the Combined Bomber Offensive to help secure air superiority over the cities, factories and battlefields of Western Europe in preparation for the invasion of France in 1944. The B-17 also participated to a lesser extent in the War in the Pacific, early in World War II, where it conducted raids against Japanese shipping and airfields. The Boeing B-29 Superfortress is a four-engine propeller-driven heavy bomber designed by Boeing that was flown primarily by the United States toward the end of World War II and during the Korean War. It was one of the largest aircraft to have seen service during World War II and a very advanced bomber for its time, with features such as a pressurized cabin, an electronic fire-control system, and a quartet of remote-controlled machine-gun turrets operated by the fire-control system in addition to its defensive tail gun installation. The name "Superfortress" was derived from that of its well-known predecessor, the B-17 Flying Fortress. Although designed as a high-altitude strategic bomber, and initially used in this role against the Empire of Japan, these attacks proved to be disappointing; as a result the B-29 became the primary aircraft used in the American firebombing campaign, and was used extensively in low-altitude night-time incendiary bombing missions. One of the B-29's final roles during World War II was carrying out the atomic bomb attacks on Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

A short introduction into Russian Military Deception - called Maskirovka. “Maskirovka is most simply defined as a set of processes designed to mislead, confuse, and interfere with accurate data collection regarding all areas of Soviet plans, objectives, and strengths or weaknesses.” (Smith, Charles L.: Soviet Maskirovka, in: Airpower Journal – Spring 1988) Military History Visualized provides a series of short narrative and visual presentations like documentaries based on academic literature or sometimes primary sources. The People's Liberation Army (PLA; simplified Chinese: 中国人民解放军; traditional Chinese: 中國人民解放軍; pinyin: Zhōngguó Rénmín Jiěfàngjūn) is the military arm of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the de facto armed forces of the People's Republic of China, consisting of land, sea, strategic missile and air forces. Initially called the Chinese Workers and Peasants Red Army, the PLA was established on August 1, 1927 which is celebrated annually as "PLA Day". The People's Liberation Army's insignia consists of a roundel with a red star bearing the Chinese characters for "Eight One", referring to August 1 (Chinese: 八一), the date of the 1927 Nanchang Uprising. The PLA is the world's largest military force, with a strength of approximately 2,250,000 personnel (about 0.18% of the country's population). The PLA comprises five main service branches, consisting of the PLA Ground Force, PLA Navy (PLAN), PLA Air Force (PLAAF), Second Artillery Corps (strategic missile force), and the PLA Reserve Force. Military service is compulsory, in theory, for all men who attain the age of 18; women may register for duty in the medical, veterinary, and other technical services at ages as young as 14. However, a draft in China has never been enforced due to large numbers of volunteers from China's huge population. Demobilized servicemen are carried in a ready reserve, which is reinforced by a standby reserve of veterans and by the militia. China (Listeni/ˈtʃaɪnə/; Chinese: 中国; pinyin: Zhōngguó), officially the People's Republic of China (PRC), is a sovereign state located in East Asia. It is the world's most populous country, with a population of over 1.35 billion. The PRC is a single-party state governed by the Communist Party, with its seat of government in the capital city of Beijing.[14] It exercises jurisdiction over 22 provinces, five autonomous regions, four direct-controlled municipalities (Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai, and Chongqing), and two mostly self-governing special administrative regions (Hong Kong and Macau).[15] The PRC also claims Taiwan -- which is controlled by the Republic of China (ROC), a separate political entity -- as its 23rd province, a claim controversial due to the complex political status of Taiwan and the unresolved Chinese Civil War.[16] The United States Armed Forces[N 1] are the military forces of the United States of America. They consist of the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, and Coast Guard.[6] The U.S. has a strong tradition of civilian control of the military. The President of the United States is the military's overall head, and helps form military policy with the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), a federal executive department, acting as the principal organ by which military policy is carried out. The DoD is headed by the Secretary of Defense, who is a civilian and Cabinet member. The Defense Secretary is second in the military's chain of command, just below the President, and serves as the principal assistant to the President in all DoD-related matters.[7] To coordinate military action with diplomacy, the President has an advisory National Security Council headed by a National Security Advisor. Both the President and Secretary of Defense are advised by a seven-member Joint Chiefs of Staff, which includes the head of each of the Defense Department's service branches as well as the chief of the National Guard Bureau. Leadership is provided by the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.[8] The Commandant of the Coast Guard is not a member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. The United States of America (USA or U.S.A.), commonly referred to as the United States (US or U.S.) or America, is a federal republic[10][11] consisting of 50 states and a federal district. The 48 contiguous states and the federal district of Washington, D.C. are in central North America between Canada and Mexico. The state of Alaska is the northwestern part of North America, west of Canada and east of Russia which is across the Bering Strait in Asia, and the state of Hawaii is an archipelago in the mid-North Pacific. The country also has five populated and nine unpopulated territories in the Pacific and the Caribbean. At 3.79 million square miles (9.83 million km2) in total and with around 315 million people, the United States is the third largest country by land area and population. It is one of the world's most ethnically diverse and multicultural nations, the product of large-scale immigration from many countries.[12] The geography and climate of the U.S. is also extremely diverse, with deserts, plains, forests, and mountains that are home to a wide variety of wildlife. War is an organised and often prolonged armed conflict that is carried out by states or non-state actors. It is characterised by extreme violence, social disruption, and economic destruction.[1][2]

World War III: The Launching of a Preemptive Nuclear War against Iran by Michel Chossudovsky --------------- http://globalresearch.ca/index.php?context=va&aid=28026 -------------- The launching of an outright war using nuclear warheads against Iran has been on the active drawing board of the Pentagon since 2005. If such a war were to be launched, the entire Middle East Central Asia region would flare up. Humanity would be precipitated into a World War III Scenario. World War III is not front-page news. The mainstream media has excluded in-depth analysis and debate on the implications of these war plans. The onslaught of World War III, were it to be carried out, would be casually described as a "no-fly zone", an operation under NATO's "Responsibility to Protect" (R2P) with minimal "collateral damage" or a "limited" punitive bombing against specific military targets, all of which purport to support "Global Security" as well as "democracy" and human rights in the targeted country. Public opinion is largely unaware of the grave implications of these war plans, which contemplate the use of nuclear weapons, ironically in retaliation to Iran's nonexistent nuclear weapons program. Moreover, 21st Century military technology is at an advanced stage of development combining an array of sophisticated weapons systems. We are at the crossroads of the most serious crisis in World history. The future of humanity is at stake. The present situation is one of advanced war planning by a formidable military force using nuclear warheads. The Pentagon's global military design is one of world conquest. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Towards a World War III Scenario? The Role of Israel in Triggering an Attack on Iran Part II The Military Road Map by Michel Chossudovsky ------------- http://www.globalresearch.ca/index.php?context=va&aid=20584 -------------- "Theater Iran Near Term" Code named by US military planners as TIRANNT, "Theater Iran Near Term", simulations of an attack on Iran were initiated in May 2003 "when modelers and intelligence specialists pulled together the data needed for theater-level (meaning large-scale) scenario analysis for Iran." ( (William Arkin, Washington Post, 16 April 2006). The scenarios identified several thousand targets inside Iran as part of a "Shock and Awe" Blitzkrieg: "The analysis, called TIRANNT, for "Theater Iran Near Term," was coupled with a mock scenario for a Marine Corps invasion and a simulation of the Iranian missile force. U.S. and British planners conducted a Caspian Sea war game around the same time. And Bush directed the U.S. Strategic Command to draw up a global strike war plan for an attack against Iranian weapons of mass destruction. All of this will ultimately feed into a new war plan for "major combat operations" against Iran that military sources confirm now [April 2006] exists in draft form. The Military Road Map: "First Iraq, then Iran" The decision to target Iran under TIRANNT was part of the broader process of military planning and sequencing of military operations. Already under the Clinton administration, US Central Command (USCENTCOM) had formulated "in war theater plans" to invade first Iraq and then Iran. Access to Middle East oil was the stated strategic objective: The Role of Israel There has been much debate regarding the role of Israel in initiating an attack against Iran. Israel is part of a military alliance. Tel Aviv is not a prime mover. It does not have a separate and distinct military agenda. Israel is integrated into the "war plan for major combat operations" against Iran formulated in 2006 by US Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM). In the context of large scale military operations, an uncoordinated unilateral military action by one coalition partner, namely Israel, is from a military and strategic point almost an impossibility. Israel is a de facto member of NATO. Any action by Israel would require a "green light" from Washington. An attack by Israel could, however, be used as "the trigger mechanism" which would unleash an all out war against Iran, as well retaliation by Iran directed against Israel.

Women's Army Corps (WAC): "It's Your War Too" 1944 US Army; World War II

The soundtrack was also processed with volume normalization, noise reduction, clipping reduction, and/or equalization (the resulting sound, though not perfect, is far less noisy than the original). http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Women's_Army_Corps The Women's Army Corps (WAC) was the women's branch of the United States Army. It was created as an auxiliary unit, the Women's Army Auxiliary Corps (WAAC) on 15 May 1942 by Public Law 554, and converted to full status as the WAC in 1943. Its first director was Oveta Culp Hobby, a prominent society woman in Texas. The WAAC organization was designed by numerous Army bureaus coordinated by Lt. Col. Gilman C. Mudgett, the first WAAC Pre-Planner. However, nearly all of his plans were discarded or greatly modified before going into operation because he expected a corps of only 11,000 women. The WAAC was modeled after comparable British units, especially the ATS, which caught the attention of Chief of Staff George C. Marshall. In 1942, the first contingent of 800 members of the Women's Army Auxiliary Corps began basic training at Fort Des Moines, Iowa. The women were fitted for uniforms, interviewed, assigned to companies and barracks and inoculated against disease during the first day. A physical training manual was published by the War Department in July 1943, aimed at bringing the women recruits to top physical standards. One section of the manual satirized a notional recruit named "Josephine Jerk" who does not participate wholeheartedly: "Josephine Jerk is a limp number in every outfit who dives into her daily dozen with the crisp vitality of a damp mop." The manual begins by naming the responsibility of the women: "Your Job: To Replace Men. Be Ready To Take Over." About 150,000 American women served in the WAAC and WAC during World War II. They were the first women other than nurses to serve with the Army. While conservative opinion in the leadership of the Army and public opinion generally was initially opposed to women serving in uniform, the shortage of men necessitated a new policy. While most women served stateside, some went to various places around the World, including Europe, North Africa and New Guinea. For example, WACs landed on Normandy Beach just a few weeks after the initial invasion. Many men ferociously opposed allowing women in uniform, warning their sisters and friends they would be seen as lesbians or prostitutes. They feared that if women became soldiers they would no longer serve in a masculine preserve and their masculinity would be devalued. Others feared being sent into combat units if women took over the safe jobs. General Douglas MacArthur called the WACs "my best soldiers", adding that they worked harder, complained less, and were better disciplined than men. Many generals wanted more of them and proposed to draft women but it was realized that this "would provoke considerable public outcry and Congressional opposition" and the War Department declined to take such a drastic step. Those 150,000 women that did serve released the equivalent of 7 divisions of men for combat. Gen. Dwight D. Eisenhower said that "their contributions in efficiency, skill, spirit, and determination are immeasurable". During the same time period, other branches of the U.S. military had similar women's units, including the Navy WAVES, the SPARS of the Coast Guard and the (civil) Women Airforce Service Pilots. The British Armed Forces also had similar units, including the Women's Auxiliary Air Force. The WAC as a branch was disbanded in 1978. Women serving as WACs at that time converted their branches to whatever Military Occupational Specialty they were working in. Since then, women in the U.S. Army have served in the same units as men, though they have only been allowed in or near combat situations since 1994 when Defense Secretary Les Aspin ordered the removal of "substantial risk of capture" from the list of grounds for excluding women from certain military units...

The ultimate objective of Camp Century was kept secret until 1997... Historical background: After 1945, the United States developed a geopolitical interest in Greenland. In 1946 the United States offered to buy Greenland from Denmark for $100,000,000, but Denmark refused to sell it. In 1950 Greenland was reintroduced into the sphere of military influence of the United States when Denmark agreed to allow the US to reestablish Thule Air Base, which was greatly expanded between 1951 and 1953 as part of a unified NATO defense strategy. In 1960, The United States Army launched a top-secret program code named Project Iceworm to build a network of mobile nuclear missile launch sites under the Greenland ice sheet. The ultimate objective of placing medium-range missiles under the ice - close enough to reach targets within the Soviet Union - was kept secret from the Danish government. To study the feasibility of working under the ice, a highly publicized "cover" project, known as Camp Century, was launched in 1960 as well. However, unsteady ice conditions within the ice sheet caused the Project Iceworm to be canceled in 1966. The Danish government did not become aware of the actual objective of Camp Century until 1997. Camp Century is now an arctic research center. Top Secret US Military Base in Greenland | City Under the Ice: Camp Century | Documentary | 1964

IRAN WILL CLOSE THE STRATEGIC STRAIT OF HORMUZ WORLD'S 40% OIL SUPPLY LINE.FLV

03:11
http://www.mehrnews.com/en/newsdetail.aspx?NewsID=1351062 ------------- 'Iran will not restrict itself to closing Hormuz Strait if threatened' Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Commander Mohammad Ali Jafari has said that Iran will not restrict itself to closing the Strait of Hormuz if the country is threatened. Closing the Strait of Hormuz is on Iran's agenda in special circumstances and in the event the country is threatened, Major General Jafari told the Mehr News Agency in an interview published on Monday. "Due to the strategic location of the Strait of Hormuz, the issue is always on our agenda. Besides, we have not restricted ourselves to this and have not stopped at this point," Jafari stated. He added, "Currently, we are seeking to utilize our defensive capabilities in open seas. And it means that if the enemy plans to pose a threat to the Islamic Republic of Iran from outside the Strait of Hormuz, (Iran) is capable of taking reciprocal action, and this strategy is currently on our agenda." Cyber Army fully prepared to address cyber threats Elsewhere in his remarks, Jafari stated that the Iranian Cyber Army is in full preparedness to counter any possible cyber threats against the Islamic Republic. If the enemy commits any act of cyber warfare against Iran, the country will take retaliatory measures, he said. The IRGC commander also stated, "(The nature of) the IRGC's mission in all spheres, including the military and cultural spheres, is defensive," and the IRGC will carry out defensive operations in cyber warfare as well. Enemies plotting to assassinate Iranian scientists Jafari also announced that the IRGC has obtained information about some new plots to assassinate Iranian scientists. It seems the plans that Iran's enemies had previously drawn up have failed, and they are now resorting to plots to physically eliminate the country's scientific figures and terrorist actions with the aim of undermining security in the Islamic Republic, he added. However, Iran's security and intelligence apparatus, in cooperation with officials in other government institutions, will be able to scuttle such plans through vigilance, Jafari stated.

Unannounced Military Talks Between US And China

01:33
Deputy chief of the General Staff of China's People's Liberation Army led a visit to the US this week. Lt. Gen Cai Yingting's trip was reportedly at the invite of the US military. The visit was kept low key, with neither the US nor Chinese authorities announcing it. Cai's visit began on Monday. It's the second by a senior Chinese army official to the US in about three months. The Chief of the PLA, Liang Guanglie, was in the US in May. Chief Editor of China Affairs magazine, Wu Fan, says that given the differences between the Chinese and US militaries, the two major powers need to engage in dialogue to prevent misunderstandings. [Wu Fan, China Affairs Magazine Chief Editor] "The ideology and thoughts behind the US and Chinese systems are different. Both are jostling for power. For the Communist Party's army and the US military to sit down for a dialogue, or discussion, it'll reduce understandings and avoid accidental conflicts." Cai came with several other PLA officers, including Chen Shoumin, the Deputy Head of the strategic planning department of the PLA General Staff Headquarters. Wu believes one of the purposes of the trip is to diffuse tension between China and US, following an escalation in territorial disputes between China and its neighbors over the South and East China seas. According to the US Department of Defense, the Chinese delegation will visit army bases in Texas, Missouri and Hawaii. The Chinese military leaders will also visit the Pentagon. UNITED KINGDOM vs RUSSIA WWIII (Military Power Comparison) | 2015

VSB defense: ➞ Website: http://www.vsbdefense.com/ ➞ Facebook https://www.facebook.com/pages/VSB-defense/1009042582444973?ref=hl -------------------------- Russian Armed Forces (Armed Forces of the Russian Federation Вооружённые Си́лы Росси́йской Федера́ции Vooruzhonnije Síly Rossíjskoj Federátsii) The number of troops is specified by decree of the President of Russia. On 1 January 2008, a number of 2,019,629 units, including military of 1,134,800 units, was set. In 2010 the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) estimated that the Russian Armed Forces numbered about 1,040,000 active troops and in the region of 2,035,000 reserves (largely ex-conscripts). As opposed to personnel specified by decree, actual personnel in the forces and paid was reported by the Audit Chamber of Russia as 766,000 in October 2013. As of December 2013, the armed forces are at 82 percent of the required manpower. According to SIPRI, Russia spent nearly $72 billion on arms in 2011. Russia is planning further increases in its military spending, with draft budgets showing a 53% rise in real terms up to 2014. However, SIPRI adds that many analysts are doubtful whether the industry will be able to deliver on such ambitious plans after decades of stagnation following the collapse of the Soviet Union. UNITED KINGDOM vs RUSSIA WWIII (Military Comparison) | 2015 British Military Power Demonstration The British Army is the United Kingdom's principal land warfare force. The English Army, founded in 1660, was succeeded in 1707 by the new British Army,[d] incorporating existing Scottish regiments. It was administered by the War Office from London, which was subsumed into the Ministry of Defence in 1964. The professional head of the British Army is the Chief of the General Staff. The full-time element of the British Army is referred to as the Regular Army and has been since the creation of the reservist Territorial Force in 1908. All members of the Army swear (or affirm) allegiance to the monarch as commander-in-chief. However, the Bill of Rights of 1689 requires Parliamentary consent for the Crown to maintain a standing army in peacetime. Parliament approves the continued existence of the Army by passing an Armed Forces Act at least once every five years. In contrast to the Royal Navy, Royal Marines and Royal Air Force, the British Army does not include Royal in its title because, after a historic struggle between Parliament and monarchy, the British Army has always been answerable to Parliament rather than the Monarch. Many of the Army's constituent regiments and corps have been granted the "Royal" prefix and have members of the Royal Family occupying senior honorary positions within some regiments. Throughout its history, the British Army has seen action in a number of major wars involving the world's great powers, including the Seven Years' War, the Napoleonic Wars, the Crimean War, the First World War and Second World War. Repeatedly emerging victorious from these decisive wars allowed Britain to influence world events with its policies and establish itself as one of the world's leading military and economic powers. Since the end of the Cold war, the British Army has been deployed to many conflict zones, often as part of an expeditionary force or a United Nations peacekeeping operation. Additionally, the British Army maintains five permanent overseas postings. Source: wikipedia Music: Hero_Theme

"Le CHANT DE L'OIGNON" and "La Victoire est a Nous" (Napoleon: Total War)

03:39
The Ulm Campaign consisted of a series of French and Bavarian military maneuvers and battles to outflank and capture an Austrian army in 1805 during the War of the Third Coalition. It took place in the vicinity of and inside the Swabian (then Bavarian) city of Ulm. The French Grande Armée, led by Napoleon Bonaparte, comprised 210,000 troops organized into seven corps, and hoped to knock out the Austrian army in the Danube before Russian reinforcements could arrive. Through rapid marching, Napoleon conducted a large wheeling maneuver that captured an Austrian army of 23,000 under General Mack on October 20 at Ulm, bringing the total number of Austrian prisoners in the campaign to 60,000. The campaign is generally regarded as a strategic masterpiece and was influential in the development of the Schlieffen Plan in the late 19th century

Desertions undermine Afghan army - 02 Dec 09

Subscribe to our channel http://bit.ly/AJSubscribe An exclusive Al Jazeera investigation has found that the number of existing security forces in Afghanistan has been greatly exaggerated with widespread desertions by members of the army and police. Senior officials in the Obama administration say US troops will start to return home from July of 2011. That is when Afghan forces are supposed to be ready to take over. But an investigation by Al Jazeera's James Bays shows that may not be feasible. At Al Jazeera English, we focus on people and events that affect people's lives. 🇺🇸 US military modernising nuclear weapons arsenal

02:26
The new Pentagon strategy ends the Obama-era push to reduce America's stockpile. Defense Secretary James Mattis says the US needs to 'see the world as it is', not as it wishes it to be. The US also wants to build a new kind of weapon which critics say could make nuclear war more likely. IF U.S. GOES TO WAR WITH RUSSIA, THESE COULD BE MOSCOW’S MOST POWERFUL WEAPONS

14:42
IF U.S. GOES TO WAR WITH RUSSIA, THESE COULD BE MOSCOW’S MOST POWERFUL WEAPONS President Donald Trump may have promised a new era for relations between the U.S. and Russia, but the world’s two leading military powers have found themselves again deeply embroiled in a 21st-century cold war complete with a new, more advanced arms race. The Soviet Union is no more, but Russian President Vladimir Putin has made revitalizing and revolutionizing his country’s massive military a priority of his leadership. Russia’s resurgence in international affairs has drawn extensive criticism from the West and, while a war between the U.S. and Russia remains highly unlikely, Putin’s recent victories in Syria showed his forces were potentially capable of outmaneuvering and outperforming a much more powerYou know and see better than anyone else that our armed forces have changed radically over the past two years, because our people have proved equal to the task, which is the most important thing, as well as because they have seen how our military equipment works, how command and logistics elements work, and how modern our Armed Forces have become,” Putin told personnel returning from Syria late last month. “The entire world has seen this as well, but the most important thing is that our people have seen it. This is very important, because people must feel protected; they must feel that their security is reliably guaranteed,” he added. Like the U.S., Russia possesses a nuclear triad composed of missiles stationed on land, air and sea, and Putin has set out to modernize all three legs of it. These updates include submarine-fired RSM-56 Bulava ballistic missiles and aerial variants of the 3M-54 Kalibr cruise missile to be launched by the recently released Tupolev Tu-160M2 strategic bomber, a new and highly improved version of the last bomber built by the Soviet Union. (Thumbnail : Foto Ilustration) How to Win a ‘Fifth-Generation’ War In recent years, military thinkers have been focused on "fourth-generation" warfare — that is, conflicts over ideas, waged by what author John Robb calls "ad-hoc warriors." Compare that to industrialized "third-generation" war fought by traditional armies over land and resources. The U.S. and its allies are already good at 3GW. And five years into the Iraq war, we are beginning to get pretty good at 4GW, too, especially in encouraging everyday Iraqis to reject hardliners’ visions of the world. But the next generation of war — the so-called "fifth-generation" — won’t feature armies or clear ideas. It will be what U.S. Army Major Shannon Beebe, the top intel officer for Africa, calls a "vortex of violence," a free-for-all of surprise destruction motivated more by frustration than by any coherent plans for the future. 5GW is what happens when the world’s disaffected direct their desperation at the most obvious symbol of everything they lack, taking advantage of the tactics and battlefields pioneered by more highly organized fourth-gen warriors. The symbol is the United States, the world’s sole super-power. And the fifth-gen fighters’ weapon of choice is political "stalemate," contends Marine Lt. Col. Stanton Coerr, in a new piece in Marine Corps Gazette. "5GW fighters will win by … point[ing] out the impotence of secular military might. … These fighters win by not losing, while we lose by not winning." The battlefield will be something strange — cyberspace, or the Cleveland water supply, or Wall Street’s banking systems, or YouTube. The mission will be instilling fear, and it will succeed. Islamic jihad espoused by Al Qaeda, Coerr writes. But that doesn’t mean that fifth-gen warriors necessarily are clearly ideological, with aspirations of setting up alternative political systems. They’re opportunists, intent only on destruction. But even seemingly pointless violence can have a perverse logic, for the sudden, irrational destruction undermines the idea that nations — and especially the most powerful nation, the U.S. — are viable in the modern world. So how do you beat a fifth-gen enemy? By not fighting, first of all. Beebe says ending the vortex of violence in Africa means alleviating "the conditions of human beings that create these insecurities across state borders." In other words, focus on economic development, humanitarian assistance and communication, with nary an M-16 or Abrams tank in sight

The original title of this video is: Army In Action -- Episode X -- The Cobra Strikes. The documentary is a part of "The Big Picture" series produced by the U.S. Army. About the Korean War: The Korean War (25 June 1950 -- 27 July 1953) was a war between the Republic of Korea (South Korea), supported by the United Nations, and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (North Korea), supported by the People's Republic of China. It was primarily the result of the political division of Korea by an agreement of the victorious Allies at the conclusion of the Pacific War at the end of World War II. The Korean Peninsula was ruled by the Empire of Japan from 1910 until the end of World War II. Following the surrender of the Empire of Japan in September 1945, American administrators divided the peninsula along the 38th parallel, with U.S. military forces occupying the southern half and Soviet military forces occupying the northern half. The failure to hold free elections throughout the Korean Peninsula in 1948 deepened the division between the two sides; the North established a communist government, while the South established a nominally democratic government. The 38th parallel increasingly became a political border between the two Korean states. Although reunification negotiations continued in the months preceding the war, tension intensified. Cross-border skirmishes and raids at the 38th Parallel persisted. The situation escalated into open warfare when North Korean forces invaded South Korea on 25 June 1950. In 1950, the Soviet Union boycotted the United Nations Security Council, in protest at representation of China by the Kuomintang/Republic of China government, which had taken refuge in Taiwan following defeat in the Chinese Civil War. In the absence of a dissenting voice from the Soviet Union, who could have vetoed it, the United States and other countries passed a Security Council resolution authorizing military intervention in Korea. The United States of America provided 88% of the 341,000 international soldiers which aided South Korean forces in repelling the invasion, with twenty other countries of the United Nations offering assistance. Suffering severe casualties within the first two months, the defenders were pushed back to a small area in the south of the Korean Peninsula, known as the Pusan perimeter. A rapid U.N. counter-offensive then drove the North Koreans past the 38th Parallel and almost to the Yalu River, when the People's Republic of China (PRC) entered the war on the side of North Korea. Chinese intervention forced the Southern-allied forces to retreat behind the 38th Parallel. While not directly committing forces to the conflict, the Soviet Union provided material aid to both the North Korean and Chinese armies. The fighting ended on 27 July 1953, when the armistice agreement was signed. The agreement restored the border between the Koreas near the 38th Parallel and created the Korean Demilitarized Zone, a 2.5-mile (4.0 km)-wide fortified buffer zone between the two Korean nations. Minor incidents continue to the present day. From a military science perspective, it combined strategies and tactics of World War I and World War II: it began with a mobile campaign of swift infantry attacks followed by air bombing raids, but became a static trench war by July 1951. In the United States of America, the war was initially described by President Harry S. Truman as a "police action" as it was conducted under the auspices of the United Nations. It has been referred to as "The Forgotten War" or "The Unknown War" because of the lack of public attention it received both during and after the war, and in relation to the global scale of World War II, which preceded it, and the subsequent angst of the Vietnam War, which succeeded it. In South Korea, the war is usually referred to as "625" or the 6--2--5 Upheaval (yook-i-o dongnan), reflecting the date of its commencement on 25 June. In North Korea, the war is officially referred to as the Fatherland Liberation War or alternatively the "Chosǒn War". In the People's Republic of China the war is officially called the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea, although the term "Chaoxian War" is also used in unofficial contexts. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Korean_War Army In Action -- Episode X -- The Cobra Strikes
