Testosterone is THE main anabolic hormone, but growth hormones also help forge muscle. If your anabolic hormone level is low throughout the day, you will build very little muscle. This is why the food you eat must raise the levels of these hormones. 3) Decrease catabolic hormone levels Cortisol is the queen of catabolic hormones. These hormones are responsible for turning muscle into energy (decreasing them while at it) and accumulating body fat. Your diet must avoid reaching high levels of these hormones, because otherwise, all your efforts will be in vain. Now, 9 simple tips to put these 3 objectives into practice: 1- Add the following foods to your diet in order to gain muscle and burn fat: fish, whole eggs, egg whites, oats, potatoes (not fried), yogurt, walnuts, almonds, peanuts, broccoli, olive oil and green tea. 2- Breakfast abundantly, as it is one of the 2 most important meals of the day. Make sure to include a good amount of proteins, as well as fat (animal and vegetable) and complex carbohydrates. 3- Your second most important meal of the day is the one you have 15-30 minutes after working out. At this moment, your body is in a critical state known for its high catabolic hormone level; which means you must consume simple carbohydrates (I strongly recommend honey) along with proteins (such as whey protein, one of the only supplements that actually work, or boiled egg whites). 4- Make sure that you consume both vegetable and animal fats throughout the day. One of my goals while in nursing school is to walk down at the graduation at 160 pounds or less. I am an ex-bariatric patient my highest weight was 325 odd pounds back in 2005. I had my surgery in November 2006 and I have had some ups and downs with childbirth and having more kids of course! I have a total of three girls it has not been easy, because not only can I cook (yes u will toot my horn cause its true 😉) but I am a complete foodie! literally there's nothing I don't eat! I love food and dream about food, think about food, food is life !!! However now with my middle child being diagnosed and my youngest child being diagnosed I feel that healthwise I need to be here and be strong for them; and what kind of redundancy is it to be a nurse and be overweight ? like that doesn't make sense right? So while I vlog about school I'm also going to vlog about weight loss so welcome along! my highest weight recently was 202 pounds I'm down to 199 pounds and I've done that in about four weeks which is not that great but as of this week I am going to be buckling down. If you take the bench press for example, you see that in order to execute a safe rep of this chest mass builder you need to have adequate stability of the shoulder blade. If your shoulder or scapula is unable to be stabilized throughout the press you not only will see a decrease in the amount of force that can be generated by your upper body but you will also likely get injured. Student unveils his dramatic transformation on TV weight loss programme after producers challenged him to lose 17 stone in NINE months James Dunn, 28, from Liverpool, was forced off the theme park ride The student feasted on late-night takeaway meals of pizza and kebabs Unhealthy diet saw his weight rocket to 32 stone by his mid-twenties Appeared on Channel 4's Make My Body Better with Davina McCall Producers encouraged him to shed the pounds over just nine months A student who was once so big he wasn't allowed on a ride at Alton Towers has shed 17 stone after getting a gastric band and hiring a personal trainer. James Dunn, from Liverpool, said 'ridiculous portions' of junk food and a lack of exercise saw his weight rocket to 32 stone by his mid-twenties. The 28-year-old says he knew it was time to change when he was unable to fit on the theme park ride and when he was unable to keep up with his 12-month-old niece. James, a student and primary school teaching assistant, has spent the past year changing his diet, undergoing weight loss surgery and following a gruelling exercise regime. Now his transformation has been filmed for Channel 4's Make My Body Better with Davina McCall. James said: 'A couple of years ago a group of us went to Alton Towers, we were having a good time and we went to get on the first ride. 'I sat down and the bar wouldn't fasten over me. A staff member tried but they couldn't do it so another had to come over to help. 'There ended up being two people trying to fasten it over me and they still couldn't do it so I had to get off in front of the crowd of people.' James, who is in his final year at Edge Hill University, said that his studies and part time jobs meant that he would often order a late night take-a-way up to four times a week. He recalled: 'It would always be late in the evening and they weren't normal portions. 'I'd sometimes order a pizza and a kebab and then have chips and a sugary drink. I might have ice-cream after it. It was always ridiculous portions. 'I've always known I had problems with weight, I was always bigger at school but I used humour. 'I thought, if I make the joke first then it doesn't matter but it was always something that I struggled with.' At his heaviest, James's size became such a problem that it affected simple tasks like visiting a local park with young relatives. James said: 'I've got two nieces and when one started walking we'd go out with them and I found that I couldn't keep up. 'I thought, if she's 12 or 18 months and I can't keep up then something isn't right - she's a toddler.' TV producers challenged James to lose 17 stone in nine months in order to be fit enough to compete in a professional horse race for the show. He was given gastric sleeve surgery to remove around three quarters of his stomach and was introduced to personal trainer Mark Grice. The Liverpool-based fitness specialist placed James on a strict training regime and helped him ditch the high fat diet. James has switched sugar and carbs for a high protein diet and now weighs 14 stone 4 lbs. James said: 'I don't want to inspire anyone to go out and get weight loss surgery but when you get to 32st sometimes there aren't many other options. 'The surgery might have bought me another 20 years, I could have been dead in 10. 'I tried every diet there is but I'd always done it in secret. 'If I wanted to give up there was no one to say 'you can do it' because I didn't tell anyone. 'It's doing it so publicly that has kept me going - I'm not just accountable to myself now. 'I'm accountable to my friends and family who spent years worrying about me, to my mum who thought I could die of a heart attack.' James said that shedding the pounds has changed his life dramatically and even his students have noticed.

Here are some more healthy weight loss life style tips Sleep, water, sugar sufficiency must be the daily focus. Sun + sport must be the weekly focus. Making the world a better place for humanity, the animals and the environment must be the life focus. One MUST get consistent early nights to ensure success on a healthy weight loss lifestyle. More early nights means a healthier and faster metabolism + you will have greater nerve energy for the next day as your organs get the rest they need to function healthfully. High carb low fat fruit based lifestyles work wonders for long term weight loss transformations. Ive NEVER seen a fat fruit or rice muncher EVER. People sneak in fat and wonder why they get fat. Im talking FAT FAT not skinny fat cos someone doesnt move their body and they wonder why they dont have a tight stomach.Weight loss transformation WILL happen when you do the right things. High carb, low fat, early nights, consistent hydration etc. Participate in your fav activities to build the toned body that you want. Do at LEAST 3 hours of light sweat inducing sport each week. Cycling, running, boxing, fast walking, wheel chairing etc. Its easy to lose weight but to build a toned body you MUST MOVE IT! :) AND eat enough carb calories so that the active adventure filled lifestyle is EASY to maintain!! So many people make the mistake of not eating enough carb calories DAILY!! Thats like wanting to be a big spender on 5$ a day! CHOW DOWN THE CARB CALORIES REGARDLESS OF YOUR WEIGHT!! My recommendations for anyone wanting to get fit + stay fit + gain muscle + burn fat is 10g of carbs per kg of bodyweight per day MINIMUM (even on days off) and 1g of carbs per kg of bodyweight per hour when you're out training. I personally drink enough water so Im pizz'n at least 10 times a day CLEAR and a few times a night. If my urine is yellow or straw, I just knock back a quart and Im good to go. Keep your salt intake low. Healthy whole food plant foods contain all the sodium we need without creating the excess weight gain from sodium retention that added salt can bring.
