I don't like to generalize, but Christians are usually pro-life. Some, however, take a more extreme step and claim that birth control pills are equivalent to abortion. This is incorrect, and Professor Stick will explain why. Oh. Apparently I can still somewhat access YouTube and Twitter while I"m gone. The Male Birth Control Pill Is Coming!
Besides condoms and vasectomies, there isn't much men can do to share the responsibility in birth control. But not for long! Now, researchers have developed a pill that can temporarily render a male mouse infertile. Is it too good to be true? Laci Green reports on the details and how soon this contraceptive pill could be available to men. Japanese/Nat After deliberating nine years over a drug that has been available in the West for decades, the Japanese government has decided to allow limited sale of the birth control pill. The Health Ministry's Central Pharmaceutical Affairs Council submitted its recommendation to the ministry, and formal approval will take place by the end of the month. The drug's approval comes just a few months after an uproar over the Japanese government's quick decision to allow the sale of the male impotence drug Viagra. Officials say the drug, which will require a doctor's prescription, is expected become available in Japan by autumn. Japan's Health Ministry committee finally gave its approval on Wednesday. The announcement was made at a news conference. SOUNDBITE: (Japanese) "Now that all conditions have been met, we can approve the pills. SUPER CAPTION: Toshiki Hirai, Director, Evaluation and Licensing Division, Pharmaceutical and Medical Safety Bureau, Japanese Health Ministry More than 300 million women worldwide have used the pill, which has long been available in nearly all industrialised and developing countries. Medical opinion is also generally in favour of the drug, with recent studies finding no long-term ill effects. In Japan, however, the pill has only been available for treatment of medical problems such as ovarian cancer. In dragging out its approval, Tokyo cited fears about the destruction of the nation's morals, the risk of side-effects and even environmental harm from the hormones. Women's groups counter that doctors aren't eager for a reduction in the number of abortions. Abortions are a lucrative business because national health insurance doesn't cover the procedure, so there's no cap on the fees doctors can charge. It's also commonplace, with one in five pregnancies ending in that procedure. On the outskirts of Tokyo, the Purple Crowd Temple cradles 17-thousand guardian deities wearing red aprons dedicated for babies which, for one reason or another, were not born. There is a widespread belief linked to Buddhism that the spirit of an aborted or miscarriaged foetus could cast a curse on the family in question. According the Buddhist faith, abortion is considered to be as sinful as murder, and there is a school of thought which sees contraceptive pills as going against nature. SOUNDBITE: (Japanese) "It is to be questioned whether one can control life with the use of birth control pills without careful consideration - for the sake of enjoying oneself." SUPER CAPTION: Masataka Shimizu, Vice Abott, Purple Crowd Temple Those who've been unable to bear children climb the steep hill to pray for the babies' spirits. For some, it's a painful thing. SOUNDBITE: (Japanese) "All these statues for the unborn babies symbolise our agony." SUPER CAPTION: Setsuko Teranishi In Japan, the initial application for approval of the pills was made in 1990. Dragging out approval for more than nine years, the government cited fears about the destruction of the nation's morals and even environmental harm from the hormones. But some doctors say government policy has not reflected public opinion. SOUNDBITE: (Japanese) "There are patients who feel not only regret but also anger when they find themselves in a situation where there is no choice but abortion. Then, they read my book on contraception and come back to me angry that approval for the pill has been delayed for so long." SUPER CAPTION: Tomoko Saotome, MD, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Aoyama Hospital The approval of the pill could help to lower the number of abortions. SOUNDBITE: (Japanese) "I might think of taking the pill once I confirm that is really okay, after somebody I know takes it." Birth Control Pills and Antioxidants- Dr. Jolene Brighten
Has your doctor told you that your hormonal contraceptive is depleting your antioxidants? My guess is probably not. Links Mentioned in This Video: Prenatal Plus https://drbrighten.com/product/prenatal-plus/ Birth Control Hormone Reset https://drbrighten.com/post-birth-control-hormone-reset/ I'm Dr. Jolene Brighten, and I'm the leading expert in post-birth control syndrome (PBCS), along with the long term side effects and consequences associated with hormonal contraceptives. Oh you didn't know that was a thing? Yeah, me either until PBCS hit me like freak'n truck that came out of nowhere. On my channel I'm sharing the info you need to know about your hormones, birth control and sex. Subscribe if this jives with you. Today, we're gonna talk some antioxidants because this is something that not a lot of gals get told by their doctor before they pop that pill, place that patch, insert that ring, or have that IUD placed. Let's have some real talks about antioxidants and why you should care about them . Antioxidants, these are things that bust free radicals like nobody's business. I like to think about them as being ninjas doing back flips and kicks, safeguarding your cells against free radicals. Now, there are two main antioxidants I want to speak to you about today. One is vitamin E and one is vitamin C and if you've got either one of these being depleted you're about to be in some really big trouble. Antioxidants are going to be what protects you from aging. hey also protect your brain, plus your ovaries, which is going to protect your fertility in the long run, and they're protecting us against aggravation of cells that can be caused by inflammation or environmental toxins. Vitamin E and vitamin C are two antioxidants that are well documented to be depleted by things like the birth control pill. In my medical practice I recommend that every woman be either on a multivitamin or a prenatal. https://drbrighten.com/product/prenatal-plus/ How do you know which one you should be on? Prenatals are not just for getting pregnant. In fact, they are nutrient loaded to support you and the growth of another organism, which means if you're taking a medication that is dumping your nutrients like crazy a prenatal is probably a better bet for you. Not to mention, if you are menstruating, so you're having a period every month, you're losing blood and that means you're losing iron. That's another reason to consider a prenatal as well. We often think about oranges for Vitamin C, but don't forget about strawberries and bell peppers, those are also excellent sources of vitamin C. Vitamin E, we're going to find that in nuts and other fats. Here's the deal, if you want to get off of these hormones you're going to need that vitamin E and that vitamin C, otherwise you're going to be in hormonal hell because without those nutrients our hormones do not work right. If you're looking for more support, I got you. THANKS FOR WATCHING! Give me a thumbs up and subscribe if you enjoyed the video :) But wait… there’s M O R E ↓ // // // // // // // // // // // // // // // // Let's talk birth control. Is birth control vegan? Which birth control methods are vegan? - abstinence - vegan. 100% effective. - Hormonal - pills, shot, ring, patch - pill may contain lactose (not vegan), and all seem to include at least one animal derivative, & tested on animals - 97% effective - There’s also the issue of studies that show environmental effects on aquatic animals that appear to be related to the release of synthetic hormones into the water system, theoretically because not all the hormones taken in contraceptives are absorbed by the body, and are then excreted in the urine where they make their way through the water filtration process and back into ground water. - condoms (+ female condoms) - if they contain latex, probably not vegan (most latex contains the milk protein casein), lambskin? also not vegan (made of sheep intestine) - 97% effective - vegan brands out there: Glyde + Sir Richard's - diaphragms - often latex (not vegan), silicone are vegan friendly - IUD - 99% - tested on animals, hormonal IUDs contain animal derivatives - also may not be able to use menstrual cups with them - morning after pill - tested on animals - outercourse - vegan - nearly 100% - sterilization for women - 1% failure rate - were at one point tested on animals, no testing for upkeep - vasectomy - essentially 100% effective (1 in 2,000) - were at one point tested on animals, no testing for upkeep - Fertility Awareness methods (FAMs) - 100% vegan - 97-99% effective THE BOOK EVERYONE SHOULD READ: http://www.powells.com/book/taking-charge-of-your-fertility-the-definitive-guide-to-natural-birth-control-pregnancy-achievement-reproductive-health-with-cdrom-9780060881900 Pearly: https://raxmedical.com/can/product/the-pearly-monitor/ Sources & Further Reading https://www.plannedparenthood.org/learn/birth-control http://www.theveganwoman.com/is-birth-control-vegan/ https://happyherbivore.com/2013/07/how-not-to-get-pregnant-vegan-birth-control/ http://www.glyde-condoms.com/index.php?language=en http://www.sirrichards.com/ http://www.thefrisky.com/2014-07-07/true-story-i-use-the-fertility-awareness-method/ // // // // // // // // // // // // // // // // GET INFORMED! Top 10 Bizarre Ways Pharmaceutical DRUGS Change the ENVIRONMENT
Pharmaceutical drugs are being prescribed more than ever to both humans and animals. In the United States, over 70 percent of adults use some form of prescription drug. It was only in the late ’90s that researchers realized these drugs could have a profound impact on the environment thanks to improper disposal or chemicals entering the water through our bodily waste. These drugs are incredibly helpful to humans, but they can have a devastating effect on the world’s ecosystem. →Subscribe for new videos every day! https://www.youtube.com/user/toptenznet?sub_confirmation=1 Help us translate our videos: https://www.youtube.com/timedtext_cs_queue?msg=10&tab=0 - Learn more why you might want to help: https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/6052538 Find more lists at: http://www.toptenz.net Entertaining and educational top 10 lists from TopTenzNet! 2012 - Condoms Protect the Environment (1080p)
A stop-motion puppeteer, a birth control educator, and a time-lapse artist decided to make a movie. The result was this animated PSA about how family planning leads to greater sustainability, less pollution, and healthier communities. Comprising 2,000+ still photos, it represents a labour of love by the Reproductive Health Interest Group (RHIG) at UCLA, which supports family planning as a commonsense way to positively impact our environment. We hope you enjoy. :-) TRANSCRIPT #FamilyPlanning protects #Environment RHIG @ UCLA presents Want a simple tip for a more sustainable future? How about reducing your environmental footprint through family planning? It makes a lot of sense if you think about it... because family planning gives you the power to plan the number of children... and the energy and resources your family consumes... which means having a positive impact on pollution and waste levels in your community. Here in California, volunteers work to make sure every population has the resources they need to plan their futures, for a safer, healthier California... because it's not just what you do for yourself. It's how you conserve your community's future too. Reproductive Health Interest Group "advocates for healthy communities through family planning and proud supporters of TeenSource's Condom Access Project" directed by: Echo Zen Reproductive Health Interest Group (RHIG)

Night Time Skin Care Routine :: cl2425 ::
::: You can read a more by opening this tab ::: Hi everyone, long time no video. This is a quick update on my skincare routine. As someone pointed out, 2009 was the last time I updated anything related to a full routine of doing my skin, so I thought I'd update you guys. A couple of things have changed since my last skincare video. - the frequency of washing the face. - Products I use - Other factors (mainly birth control pills) - Living environment Things that haven't changed much.. - My diet (although I do eat out more often than I did in New York) - My workout (on and off, but I manage to do some cardio here and there, pretty much the same as my NY days) - My sleeping cycle - Caffeine intake - When I shower (I shower daily, at night) I hope this video helps out anyone curious about what I do to my skin. Also, a lot of people have asked about my acne scars. I still have my acne scars, but I think mine fade away easily. I don't pop my pimples or irritate any break outs. I just leave them and even if I accidentally scratch them, I let them be and wait for time to heal the scars. As you can see through out the video my bare skin is actually red and spotty. The redness is a result of a lot of acne scars overlapping each other. I don't do anything extraordinary - I'm too lazy to do sheet masks, intensive treatments, anti-aging or whitening stuff (although I think I should be doing these religiously since my skin often looks dull and tired, LOL), so this video really is what I do everyday. In the near future I do plan to get my freckles and sun spots removed, but I don't think I'll mess around with the acne scars since they cover such a vast surface area. I'll update you guys when I get my sun spots / freckles removed! :) Also, I understand that there's always a heated debate of the pros and cons regarding birth control pills - I don't recommend BC pills for everyone, I'm only sharing what worked for me. Always consult your doctor before trying out birth control pills. It's definitely not for everyone. My mom, for instance, took birth control pills when she was young and she had major side effects and health problems (hence her opposition to my usage of the pills), so research and figure things out before jumping on the pills! How Can We Control Human Over Population?
With an estimated world population of 7 billion and rising, how do we stop over population from becoming out of control? The world we all live on is a big place, but we are very quickly over crowding it. Many people don't want to even acknowledge the problem that is growing around every one of you watching this video. But planet Earth, our home, in some places already has too many human inhabitants, and the world's population continues to increase. So what will happen when the world becomes over populated? Well no animal species can survive without enough food, water, shelter and certain other resources. And human beings are no different. Nature will reduce the population through famine and disease, among other things. However This kind of world already exists,in third world country's. So how do we stop this happening in our own countries. Imagine your towns or cities overflowing with people trying to survive, trying to eat and feed there family's. People would fight to get the resources they need, crime would rise and you streets would look like you were living in a movie scene. Human over population occurs when the number of people in a group exceeds the carrying capacity of the region that they occupy. This can be the result of an increase of births, a decline in mortality rates, an increase in immigration, or depletion of resources. The human population has been growing since the end of the Black Death in the 1400s, but the most significant increase has been in the last 50 years and is due to medical advancements. Currently in the year 2014 the worlds human population is estimated at over 7 billion. Scientists have estimated that the earths carrying capacity is between 4 billion and 16 billion. So with this estimate, over population has already occurred and some believe that at the rate it is increasing, by 2040 the population will be between 8 and 10.5 billion. The main concern with these increases is that the planet may not be able to sustain present or larger numbers of human inhabitants. We could see environmental problems such as rising levels of atmospheric carbon dioxide, global warming, and pollution. Increased demand for fresh water and food, leading to starvation and malnutrition. Over consumption of natural resources like fossil fuels, and a deterioration in living conditions. So how do we prevent human population becoming out of control? Well almost no current world leader is willing to acknowledge the problem, much less take the necessary steps to resolve it. The Chinese government did impose a limit to the amount of children one couple are a load to have, but people found various strategies to get around the restriction. In the past decade china has seen an increase in population of over 61 million people, but the 'One Child Policy' has prevented an estimated 250 million births in the same span of ten years. However with such an alarming rate of population growth in other country's around the world, it is an undeniable fact that the world's governments will be forced to act and start a program that will reduce the levels of humans. They may start by introducing education programs that teach people not to have so many kids Or maybe offer an incentive in some way. If this approach didn't work then they may go down the route china did and put a ban on more than one child per family. If this didn't work, then hysterectomies, castrations or some form of birth control may be enforced in some way. If you have to many kids in the governments eyes and become pregnant again they may Force you to have an abortion. Some new born children may be purposely made infertile for life. But if it every got so bad that the governments of the world had to do something seriously extreme, then maybe age restrictions would be there solution. These are just a few ideas and there are probably lots more that could be done before murdering people was an option. Maybe by the time our planet is massively over populated some sort of technical solution would be available. Like an extraterrestrial settlement some where in the solar system. But if you think, " no this won't happen, or this won't effect me" then you have only got to look at the number of starving people in the world to realise that this problem is real and if human population increase estimates are correct, then it may be happening a lot faster than you think. 10 Most Common Causes of Missed and Irregular Periods
10 Most Common Causes of Missed and Irregular Periods Missed a period? The first thing to consider is pregnancy. If that is ruled out, other possible causes might be related to the use of certain birth control pills or entering menopause. One of the side effects of a low-dose birth control pill is a light or nonexistent period. So, it may be time to consult your doctor about changing your birth control pills. Also, going through menopause can cause irregular periods before they end entirely. Aside from those three possibilities, there are several health problems as well as lifestyle and environmental factors that can impact your periods. If your periods have been regular but suddenly became irregular, take the issue seriously. The abnormal absence of a period is called amenorrhea. Irregular periods can be defined as: Metrorrhagia– when irregular bleeding occurs between your expected periods. Oligomenorrhea– when menses occur at intervals of greater than 35 days. Polymenorrhea– when menses occur at intervals of 21 days or less. causes of missed or irregular periods
