Using Furosemide, Mannitol, Fenoldopam to Treat Kidney Failure

01:14
You have to be careful with furosemide, explains Karol Mathews, DVM, DVSc, DACVECC, professor emeritus of clinical studies at Ontario Veterinary College at the University of Guelph. It is not the be-all, end-all treatment, she adds. Dr. Mathews also cautions against the use of the commonly prescribed mannitol, which she says has been shown to not be beneficial in treating kidney failure either. Lastly, Dr. Mathews says that although fenoldopam has been recommended in the past, the drug has also been shown to be of no benefit. The research is being done on healthy animals, she says, but when it is being used in a patient presenting with kidney failure there are no notable benefits. Spironolactone Tablets Usage, Side Effects, Dose, Packing | (Aldactone, Lasilactone, Aldactide)

03:14
Type of medicine Aldosterone antagonist diuretic, potassium-sparing diuretic Used for Fluid retention Heart failure Primary hyperaldosteronism Also called Aldactone®, Lasilactone® (spironolactone with furosemide), Aldactide® (spironolactone with hydroflumethiazide) Available as Tablets Spironolactone is used to treat fluid retention (oedema) caused by liver disease, kidney problems or heart failure. Oedema occurs when fluid leaks out of your blood vessels, causing swelling in the tissues of your lungs, feet or ankles. This makes you feel breathless or your legs feel puffy. Spironolactone prevents a build-up of fluid in your body by increasing the amount of urine your kidneys produce. It is also used to treat some other conditions which cause fluid retention, such as a disorder called primary hyperaldosteronism. Spironolactone is known as a potassium-sparing diuretic. Unlike some other diuretics, it does not cause your body to lose potassium. Diuretics are sometimes referred to as 'water tablets'. Spironolactone is often used alongside other diuretics. When it is used like this, it may be prescribed as a combination product, such as in Lasilactone® (spironolactone with furosemide) and Aldactide® (spironolactone with hydroflumethiazide). Combinations like these help to reduce the number of tablets you need to take each day. Before taking spironolactone Some medicines are not suitable for people with certain conditions, and sometimes a medicine may only be used if extra care is taken. For these reasons, before you start taking spironolactone it is important that your doctor or pharmacist knows: If you are pregnant, trying for a baby or breast-feeding. If you have kidney problems. If you have a problem with your adrenal glands, called Addison's disease. If you have a rare inherited blood disorder, called porphyria. If you are taking any other medicines. This includes any medicines you are taking which are available to buy without a prescription, as well as herbal and complementary medicines. If you have ever had an allergic reaction to a medicine. How to take spironolactone Before you start this treatment, read the manufacturer's printed information leaflet from inside your pack. The leaflet will give you more information about spironolactone and a full list of side-effects which you may experience from taking it. Take spironolactone exactly as your doctor has told you. The usual dose varies from 25 mg to 200 mg. Depending upon which dose is right for you, you may be asked to take several tablets a day but these are generally taken at the same time. Take the tablets with or just after a meal. Spironolactone is commonly prescribed just once daily and you can generally take the dose at a time to suit you. However, diuretics are best taken no later than mid-afternoon. This is because you will find you may need to go to the toilet a couple of times after taking them and this could disturb your sleep if you take it late in the day. If you have been prescribed more than one tablet of spironolactone a day and told to take them at different times, make sure you take your last tablet no later than 6 pm. If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is after 6 pm in the evening, skip the missed dose and continue as usual the next day. Do not take two doses at the same time to make up for a missed dose. Getting the most from your treatment If you are having an operation or dental treatment, tell the person carrying out the treatment which medicines you are taking. Can spironolactone cause problems? Along with their useful effects, most medicines can cause unwanted side-effects although not everyone experiences them. These usually improve as your body adjusts to the new medicine, but speak with your doctor or pharmacist if any of the following side-effects continue or become troublesome. Spironolactone side-effects What can I do if I experience this? Feeling sick or being sick (vomiting) Stick to simple meals - avoid rich or spicy foods Feeling tired, dizzy, or sleepy If this happens, do not drive and do not use tools or machines until you feel better Sexual problems, breast discomfort and enlargement, feeling confused, irregular periods, confusion, sweating, cramps, hair loss or unwanted hair growth, and skin rash If any of these become troublesome, speak with your doctor If you experience any other symptoms which you think may be due to this medicine, speak with your doctor or pharmacist.

Fluid accumulates in your abdomen Signs|symptoms an type|natural treatment of Ascites

05:12
Ascites is the accumulation of fluid (usually serous fluid which is a pale yellow and clear fluid) that accumulates in the abdominal (peritoneal) cavity. The abdominal cavity is located below the chest cavity, separated from it by the diaphragm. Ascitic fluid can have many sources such as liver disease, cancers, congestive heart failure, or kidney failure. When fluid builds up inside the abdomen, It is dangerous disease What are the types of ascites? Traditionally, ascites is divided into 2 types; transudative or exudative. This classification is based on the amount of protein found in the fluid. A more useful system has been developed based on the amount of albumin in the ascitic fluid compared to the serum albumin (albumin measured in the blood). This is called the Serum Ascites Albumin Gradient or SAAG. Signs and symptoms Mild ascites is hard to notice, but severe ascites leads to abdominal distension. Patients with ascites generally will complain of progressive abdominal heaviness and pressure as well as shortness of breath due to mechanical impingement on the diaphragm. symptoms may develop gradually or suddenly, depending on the cause. When only a small amount of fluid is present in the abdomen, ascites may be undetectable. Abdominal pain and bloating increase with the amount of fluid collected in the body. Ascites is detected on physical examination of the abdomen by visible bulging of the flanks in the reclining patient ("flank bulging"), "shifting dullness" (difference in percussion note in the flanks that shifts when the patient is turned on the side) or in massive ascites with a "fluid thrill" or "fluid wave" (tapping or pushing on one side will generate a wave-like effect through the fluid that can be felt in the opposite side of the abdomen). Other signs of ascites . include: Ankle or leg swelling (edema) Changes to the navel Decreased appetite Fatigue For instance, in portal hypertension (perhaps due to cirrhosis or fibrosis of the liver) patients may also complain of leg swelling, bruising or mental changes due to encephalopathy. Those with ascites due to cancer may complain of chronic fatigue or weight loss. Those with ascites due to heart failure may also complain of shortness of breath as well as wheezing and exercise intolerance Treatments Since ascites prevents the flushing of salt through your pee, the first step is to cut down on the salt you eat, by a lot. Your doctor also may prescribe “water pills,” also called diuretics, to help flush the extra fluid from your body. Two of the most common diuretics are: • Furosemide • Spironolactone  Reduce the amount of fluids consumed you throughout the day  If change in diet and prescription diuretics aren’t effective, or your symptoms are severe, your doctor may have to use paracentesis to remove large amounts of excess fluid through a needle inserted into your abdomen. This procedure must be combined with a low-salt, low-liquid diet, otherwise the fluid will simply come back. While use of theses thing In your daily diet for Ascites treatment • raw Garlic in your diet . • drink juice of Radish Leaves and Water. • use of Watermelon. Or Onions. • juice of Garlic. •. • use Bitter Gourd. • Chickpeas in your diet. Use chemotherapy for patients with certain types of cancer. This treatment is extremely rare. Prevention of ascites depends on the cause subscribe to my channel awareness and precautions video thank you

Poodle coughing non stop ~ Signs of congestive heart failure (CHF)

00:53
DEAR DOG PARENTS, IF YOUR DOG EXPERIENCES ANY OF THE SYMPTOMS, PLEASE DO NOT HESITATE TO PAY A VISIT TO THE VET CLINIC BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE!!! My dog is a 9-year-old & 5.5kg miniature poodle. She has experienced the following symptoms of CONGESTIVE HEART FAILURE few months back in May 2017 as shown in the video above such as: -Breathing difficulty (0:00 to 0:23) -Excessive coughing (0:24 to 0:53) -Swollen belly caused by water retention -Panting -Bluish grey gum -Almost collapsed due to poor oxygen flow -Sleeping difficulty That's when I brought her to the vet clinic immediately to realise that she's diagnosed with congestive heart failure. The medication that my dog has taken is as follows: -Furosemide -Enlapril -Vetmedin Initially, she was prescribed with only furosemide and enlapril. However, the vet has recommended to reduce the dosage of furosemide after some time as its function is to eliminate water and salt from the body so there's a risk of kidney problem in the long term. My dog didn't respond well as her condition was quite serious so the vet introduced Vetmedin and no more furosemide to be taken. She's been taking 2.5mg of Vetmedin per day for a few months time and she's doing really fine now. I hope she can live a long time healthily and happily :) Thank you for reading, again I would like to say: DEAR DOG PARENTS, IF YOUR DOG EXPERIENCES ANY OF THE SYMPTOMS, PLEASE DO NOT HESITATE TO PAY A VISIT TO THE VET CLINIC BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE!!!

What Drugs INCREASE Your Risk of Dementia (Updated List 2018)

08:58
We take medication expecting it to make us better, or make us feel better. The last thing we want is to take a medication for one thing, and have it make something much more important get worse. If you are taking any of the Anti-Cholinergics as a long-term medication, then that is exactly what might be happening. How to Reduce Swelling in Legs, Feet and Ankles Quickly Due to Fluid Retention and Edema

04:28
How to get rid of swollen legs feet and ankles fast naturally due to fluid retention and edema. Home remedies for swollen feet. Our body can eliminate the excess fluids on its own, through urine, or sweat. However, when its function is affected, the fluid starts accumulating in the tissues, and causes swelling. The swelling is most prominent in legs, feet, ankles, hands, and sometimes even in face. This is known as peripheral edema. There are two types of edema. pitting edema, and non-pitting edema. In pitting edema, an indentation is formed, when pressured is applied on the swollen area. This indentation will persist for sometime, even after the pressure is released. The causes for pitting edema are: Sitting for too long. Congestive heart failure. High intake of Sodium. Deficiency of Potassium and magnesium. Pregnancy. Medication side effects. Wearing tight socks, etc., In non-pitting edema, indentation is not formed when pressure is applied. Non-pitting edema is caused due to disorders in lymphatic system. Non-pitting edema is more serious, and difficult to treat, than pitting edema. Whatever might be the reasons for swelling and fluid retention, you must consult your doctor, immediately. However, there are some home remedies you could take, to reduce swelling in the body. 1. Drink water. Drinking less than the recommended amount of water, which is 6-8 glasses a day, can dehydrate your body, and is very dangerous to your health. In cases of dehydration, the body tries to rehydrate itself, by taking water from different tissues, which may lead to fluid retention and other serious health problems. 2. Reduce the intake of sodium. Sodium is present in almost any of the foods we eat every day, so it’s really hard to avoid. However, consuming too much of it can cause numerous health problems, including fluid retention. 3. Avoid processed foods. Processed foods are rich in sugar and sodium, which are among the main risk factors for fluid retention, and a variety of other diseases and conditions. You must avoid processed foods as much as possible. 4. Eat potassium, and magnesium rich foods. Potassium deficiency has been linked to fluid imbalance, as well as improperly functioning organs. Magnesium is very important for our health, and we need about 200 mg of it a day. In case of these deficiencies, the body will experience fluid retention. So make sure to eat nuts, seeds, whole grains, and avocado, in order to optimize the levels of the minerals in your body. 6. Eat Vitamin B6 rich food. Lack of this vitamin, is one of the main causes of fluid retention. Eat more tuna, pistachios, bananas, chicken, and sunflower seeds, in order to resolve the problem. 7. Exercise. In order to prevent fluid retention, exercise is key. Start being physically active today, in order to keep the levels of fluids in your body regulated, and keep everything functioning properly. Go for a walk, run, or swim, and aim for 30 minutes of exercise per day 3 times a week, or more, if you have the time. 8. Elevate your legs. While sleeping, or resting, elevate your legs with a pillow, to reduce the swelling in your ankles, and prevent accumulation of fluids in your joints. 9. Don't wear tight clothes. Wearing tight clothes can impair your circulation, and cause numerous problems. Also, don't wear socks which are too tight. If you follow these tips, you may steer clear of the condition and stay healthy. About HomeYog: HomeYog is here to help you live life to the fullest. Valsartan Heart Medication Tainted With Cancer-Causing Chemicals - Recalls & Lawsuits

07:36
Valsartan, a major heart medication, has been recalled because batches of the drugs had been contaminated with cancer-causing chemicals. Ring of Fire’s Mike Papantonio and Farron Cousins discuss this issue. Learn more at https://www.levinlaw.com/valsartan-lawsuit A major heart medication has been recalled because batches of the drugs had been contaminated with cancer-causing chemicals. Now, can't make that up. This, drug that people are ... This is an entire class of drugs. The problem is, we know exactly where the contamination is coming from. It's being contaminated with toxins from jet fuel. Take it from there. This is such an odd story here. Valsartan is this class. It's used in blood thinners and heart medications. It's manufactured or final manufactured, I guess you would call it. Part of the manufacturing process is done over in China. While they're doing that, somehow this chemical called NDMA, it has a very long scientific name, hard to pronounce. Horribly toxic, horribly carcinogen. Right, it is. This thing will absolutely give you liver cancer, this chemical does. In very small doses. What's interesting about the chemical, this is what everybody can't miss, is what we call a dose response. The dose response is very, very small. This is a critical point. Right, and so they go through this manufacturing process in China. It gets contaminated with this jet fuel NDMA, cancer-causing chemical, shipped not just here to the US, all over the world. That's any valsartan medication made by A-S Medication Solutions, which is also labeled as Solco Healthcare, Bryant Ranch PrePack, HJ Harkins Company, Northern Pharmaceuticals, and the biggest one is Teva Pharmaceutical Industries. They made a lot of this also labeled as Actavis and Major Pharmaceuticals. Any one of those that contains valsartan has been recalled for containing this cancer causing-chemical. Here's the problem though, here's where it really gets ugly. A company understands what's happened here. They understand that they've put millions of people at risk. And so a person that ... If you don't see this on this story for example, you probably won't even know about it because corporate media won't tell stories like this. The idea of being able to turn on the nightly news and have corporate media say, "Hey look, you might want to know the heart medicine you're taking, the blood pressure medicine that you're taking has been contaminated with a drug, with a chemical, a toxic chemical that is so toxic that the dose response that you get in very, very low doses can be projected and can develop cancerous problems in a time period that is actually faster than a normal progression of cancer." Because it goes to the liver and the liver is so susceptible to cancer. That's the unique thing about this. Sometimes you hear about a contaminant, you hear about a toxin that's a contaminant and it causes cancer and usually it's a very latent process. It takes a while for it to develop. Here, this NDMA works a little differently. It works right on the liver. The liver is very susceptible to the cancer in this toxin. If you know somebody taking any of the drugs, read the list again, I think it's important. Oh yeah, let me get that here. It's important to point out, these are heart medications and people unfortunately cannot just stop immediately taking them. They have to go visit their doctor and they need to do that. If you think you are on one of these medications, you need to do that immediately. Let's just post it. We'll post it on the show because I want everybody to see this. But, here's what's really important about it. Every time you hear a drug that's been a recall or it's got a problem; it's causing death, it's causing disease, the industry always comes out and says to the FDA, "You got to tell people that they can't just stop taking it suddenly as if there are no other kinds of alternatives."
