B12 is necessary for blood cells, energy metabolism, myelin and many other things. However, a low stomach acid can prevent the absorption of B12 so despite taking B12, nothing will work if your stomach acids are too weak. 5 Signs and Symptoms of Vitamin B12 Deficiency YOU NEED To Know

03:27
Follow us on Twitter: @foods4health1 Recipes4Health: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC2bZhXBHIb51n1fE3VWPmcQ/videos To learn more about the health benefits of food, visit: http://www.benefitsoffood.blogspot.com Vitamin B12 is an important vitamin for our overall health, and B12 deficiency may be more common then you think. In fact, it is thought to be one of the leading nutrient deficiencies around the world. Vitamin B12 has many benefits for our bodies and can improve heart health, mood, digestion and energy levels to name a few. You should discuss with your medical practitioner the correct dosage of daily vitamin B12 to make sure you are not deficient in this vitamin. There are some great food sources that are rich in vitamin B12, which include salmon, beef, tuna, herring, organic yogurt and Greek yogurt. Now, lets discuss some signs and symptoms of vitamin B12 deficiency that you should be aware of. 1. First, one of the most common vitamin B12 deficiency symptoms is constantly feeling tired or chronic fatigue, even after getting a good amount of sleep the previous night. Fatigue is often seen as one of the first signs of deficiency with this vitamin. This is because our body relies on vitamin B12 to create red blood cells in the body, which can then carry oxygen to the various organs. If we are not getting oxygen in our cells, you are much more likely to feel tired even with proper sleep. 2. Another sign and symptom of deficiency with this vitamin is poor memory or the inability to concentrate as well as you once did. Although there are a number of factors and other causes that could cause memory impairment, low vitamin B12 can lead to this unwanted symptom. As well, vitamin B12 may be able to help prevent memory loss and benefit cognitive function overall while lowering the risk of some neurodegenerative diseases. 3. Vitamin B12 deficiency may also negatively affect your mood and may even increase symptoms of depression and anxiety is some cases. Having low levels of vitamin B12 may cause these symptoms since B12 is involved in the synthesis of chemicals in the brain, such as dopamine and serotonin. It is these chemicals that are involved in the regulation of our moods. Research has also indicated that vitamin B12 benefits our nervous system, which can reduce mood disorders such as depression and anxiety. 4. Having low levels of vitamin B12 may also negatively affect your overall cardiovascular health. Good levels of vitamin B12 helps to reduce elevated levels of homocysteine, which is considered a major risk factor for heart disease. Homocysteine levels are influenced by levels of B vitamin in our blood, including vitamin B12. Vitamin B12 may also be able to help high cholesterol and blood pressure levels as well. 5. Lastly, vitamin B12 deficiency may also negatively affect the appearance of your skin and your overall skin health. Your skin may look more pale or yellow cast. This is due to the red blood cells in your body now being more fragile and easily broken, which can causes the release of bilirubin pigment. As well, vitamin B12 is essential for healthy skin since this vitamin plays an important role in cell production. For all of these signs and symptoms, you should always consult your medical practitioner for treatment. Thank you for watching the video! Please like, comment and share. This video focuses on the causes of vitamin B12, the main symptoms, as well as some tips on how to remedy this deficiency in a totally natural way. Since it increases energy in the evening and gives a boost of energy while doing cardio exercises, vitamin B12 is often referred to as the "energy" vitamin. In addition, it looks like an effective weight loss tool and has become all the rage in medical weight loss clinic. Its popularity goes to the size of clinics and health spas that offer discounts for vitamin B12 injections. Vitamin B12 is of utmost importance as it takes a vital role in many bodily functions. These include: - Good digestion. - Iron Absorption. - Fat and Carbohydrate Metabolism. - Nervous growth and training. - Healthy reproductive system in women. - Adrenal hormone secretion. - Circulation. - Formation of red blood cells. - Healthy nervous system. CAUSES OF DEFICIENCY OF VITAMIN B12. Vitamin B12 deficiency can be triggered by different factors, of which the following are the most common: - Antacids affect the assimilation of vitamin B12 because the body needs enough stomach acid to absorb it. - Nitrous oxide, also known as laughter gas, destroys vitamin B12 in the body - Drinking more than 4 cups of coffee a day leads to a 15 percent reduction in vitamin B12 levels. - Gastric bypass weight loss surgery changes digestive mechanisms, affecting the absorption of vitamin B12. - The H. pylori bacterium destroys the stomach cells that create the "intrinsic factor", which are necessary for the absorption of vitamin B12. SYMPTOMS OF DEFICIENCY OF VITAMIN B12. Optic Nerves / Vision Problems. In case you notice any changes in your vision, such as double or blurred vision, test your vitamin B12 levels, since deficiency in this vitamin often leads to vision problems. Anxiety. Since vitamin B12 stimulates the production of dopamine and serotonin, known as "happy" brain chemicals, anxiety is often a warning sign of low levels of vitamin B12. Changes in taste. The blows on the tongue are responsible for recognizing the taste of the food you eat. In case you notice changes in your taste and often get a 'blah' impression of food, it is very likely that you are deficient in vitamin B12. Yellow skin. When the body lacks vitamin B12, it loses its ability to produce strong cells. The degradation of red blood cells causes yellow skin and is a sure sign of vitamin B12 deficiency. Memory loss. Memory loss is often caused by vitamin B12 deficiency, especially in young people who are young to develop dementia. Inability to keep your eyes open. This is a result of lack of oxygen in the blood, which is caused directly by deficiency of the vitamin itself. Dizziness. Feeling dizzy is another sign of lack of oxygen in the blood. Numbness. Sensation of numbness and tingling is the result of nerve damage, which occurs due to vitamin B12 deficiency. RISK GROUPS READY TO B12 DEFICIENCY. - Vegans and vegetarians who do not eat animal products. - Diabetics on Metformin, since this drug affects the absorption of vitamin B12. - People 60 years or older who do not have enough stomach acid. - People diagnosed with autoimmune disorders, such as celiac or Crohn's disease.

Vitamin B12 Deficiency Signs, Symptoms, And Risk Factors

03:08
Vitamin B12 Deficiency Signs, Symptoms, And Risk Factors The symptoms of vitamin B12 deficiency are diverse, including both physical and mental symptoms. The physical symptoms include palpitations, incurable fatigue, loss of balance, numbness, tingling, pale skin, and sore and red tongue. The mental symptoms include memory loss, depression, or obsessive compulsive disorder. Vitamin B12 Is Essential For Your Nerves And Genes Vitamin B12 (cobalamin) is one of the 8 essential B vitamins. As it is water soluble, your body cannot store it; so, it needs to be constantly sourced through food. All B vitamins help produce energy in the body by converting carbohydrates from the food into fuel (glucose) and use fat and protein optimally Signs And Symptoms Of Vitamin B12 Deficiency As an adult, you need only 2.4 mcg vitamin B12 daily through your diet. For infants below 1 year, the daily requirement ranges from 0.4 to 0.5 mcg. Pregnant and lactating mothers require 2.6 and 2.8 mcg, respectively. The only source of vitamin B12 are foods, mostly from animal sources, and supplements. While vegetarians can get it from dairy products, they still risk not getting enough. However, vegans have a high risk of vitamin B12 deficiency if they do not eat B12-fortified foods and supplements. Deficiency occurs either when you don’t get enough of it through your diet or when your body cannot absorb it effectively. Poor absorption is caused by aging, low stomach acid, chronic digestive disorders like Crohn’s disease or celiac disease, stomach surgeries, and pernicious anemia. 1. Memory Loss, Depression, OCD, And Psychosis The first signs of vitamin B12 deficiency, which could take years to develop, have either to do with your nerves and mental health. The list includes depression, memory loss, psychosis, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and dementia. The reason behind this is that vitamin B12 helps build the protective myelin sheath around nerve cells. 2. Anemia, Fatigue, Shortness Of Breath There are certain blood-related signs that the deficiency could manifest in. But it is highly unlikely that you have hematological symptoms if you already have nervous and mental symptoms. The likelihood of it diminishes further with the severity of the neuropsychiatric symptoms. Anemia is a classic vitamin B12 deficiency symptom. Severe anemia could lead to breathing difficulty on exertion, fatigue, as well as symptoms related to congestive heart failure, such as ankle edema, breathing difficulty, frequent urination in the night, etc. 3. Nausea, Vomiting, Heartburn, And Bloating Some symptoms of the deficiency involve the digestive tract like nausea, vomiting, heartburn, abdominal bloating and gas, constipation or diarrhea, loss of appetite, and weight loss. An enlarged liver is another symptom. 4. Skin Lesions, Vitiligo, And Sore Tongue Any change in the cobalamin content in the body can show on the skin as vitiligo, dermatitis, hyperpigmentation, or acne. Skin lesions, especially the ones not responding to any other treatment, are most likely from cobalamin deficiency. Your hair and nail could change, too. Vitamin B12 Is Found Mostly In Animal Sources Since vitamin B12 cannot be produced in the body, it is essential to include food that supplies it in our diet. Plants don’t make it and the only living things that make vitamin B12 are certain bacteria present in the digestive tract of animals. 10 Signs of B12 Deficiency in Women

Like, Comment, Subscribe and invite all your friends to see our videos. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCUOF1_1_fY50PVN0TtItbDQ?sub_confirmation=1 10 Signs of B12 Deficiency in Women The following symptoms can indicate a B12 deficiency and should be brought to your doctor’s immediate attention… 1. Dizziness Frequent bouts of dizziness or vertigo can often be a signal that your B12 stores are low. For instance, you may experience a feeling of wobbles when you get up too fast from a sitting position. Most often, people will notice the onset of dizziness suddenly when either changing positions from sitting to standing or after a right after you have experienced a significant amount of physical activity. Those low in B12 may also feel dizzy when they walk up or down stairs, which can be quite dangerous. Chronic bouts of vertigo should be brought to your doctor’s attention so they can test you for B12 deficiency. 2. Pins and Needles It’s very common to experience pins and needles if you sit cross-legged for far too long. However, pins and needles (or the feeling of numbness) throughout the body when you haven’t compressed any part of your body, can indicate a B12 issue. Numbness or the feeling of electric shock waves can be the result of nerve damage in B12 deficient patients. Nerve issues in the body can be traced back to low oxygen levels, due to poor red blood cell production, which the B12 vitamin largely affects. The uncomfortable feeling of pins and needles could also be related to a number of other potential issues including reduced blood supply or dehydration. 3. Pale Complexion Sure, the idea of vampires may seem irrational. However, the concept that vampires are pale while suffering with a craving for blood sort of makes sense. After all, creatures of the night lack the vitamin B12. Those with B12 deficiency often cast a pale complexion due to a lack of red blood cells. And those lacking in red blood cells often become ghostly in hue because the release excess bilirubin, which zaps those rosy cheeks and leaves behind a pale, yellow visage. 4. Forgetfulness Sure, we all have “brain farts,” which is what I often refer to when I frantically look for my glasses even though their perched on top of my head. Let’s face it – we have all been there! However, chronic and uncharacteristic forgetfulness may indicate a deeper medical issue, particularly if you are noticing an increased trend of forgetfulness that you are beginning to become concerned about. Many patients suffering from B12 deficiency even jump to the conclusion that they have early onset dementia or Alzheimer’s, especially if you are in your senior years. The good news here is that a simple blood test from your doctor can diagnose B12 deficiency, and a supplemental regimen can have your sharp-memory back in focus in no time! 5. Unexplained Fatigue A night of good sleep followed by a day of yawns and dragging your feet can be common for many. However, if that fatigue is felt for days—even though you regularly get a good night’s sleep—your fatigue (combined with other already mentioned symptoms) may be the result of a B12 deficiency. Researchers from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics claim that those who feel zapped of energy even though they get plenty of zzzzzzzzs may be experiencing low B12 levels. This is due to lack of red blood cell production, which is one of B12s responsibilities. Lack of red blood cells means oxygen transport to your organs is lacking, which is what can cause extreme fatigue. 6. Vision Issues No, there isn’t something in your eye causing the spotting, blurred and double vision. In fact, low B12 stores over the long term can lead to vision changes and actually damage vision. Retinal damage can result if blood vessels in the eye become blocked. As a result you may experience light sensitivity, blurred or double vision, tracers or shadows, which all result from damage to the optic nerve. Luckily, B12 supplementation can restore full vision. 7. Muscle Weakness If you go from bench pressing 100-pounds to struggling with picking up your laundry, you may be suffering a lack of B12 vitamin. B12 is relied on for oxygenation of organs… and muscles. As a result of lack of vitamin B12 and insufficient oxygenation to muscles, sluggishness and uncharacteristic muscle weakness may result. Suddenly an individual who could carry 5 bags of groceries for 4 blocks will struggle if their purse or gym bag is too heavy. If you feel the onset of sudden weakness from time to time and aren’t suffering from a flu or cold, it is probably a good idea to speak to your doctor and to ask if your B12 levels could be a potential cause. 8. Therefore, if left untreated, vitamin B-12 deficiency can cause serious blood diseases and neurological issues. here are the most common 5 warning signs linked to vitamin B-12 deficiency. Never ignore these 5 signs of vitamin b12 deficiency. 1. Unexplained Fatigue. If you are feeling exhausted even if you have slept well, and you constantly lack energy, your body might lack this vitamin. The reason is the lack of red blood cell production, which is one of the functions of B12. In this case, the transport of oxygen to the organs is impeded and leads to fatigue. 2. Dizziness. B12 deficiency might cause dizziness and vertigo, as well as a feeling of wobbles when you get up too fast from a sitting position, and when you walk up or downstairs. 3. Forgetfulness. Low B12 levels might also make you forget things often. You might suspect it is early dementia, but chronic and uncharacteristic forgetfulness is a common symptom of this deficiency. Yet, you can boost your memory by taking supplements and raise the intake of B12. 4. Pins and Needles. The lack of B12 often causes pins and needles throughout the body, as the vitamin affects the production of red blood cells, and thus controls the levels of oxygen. Numbness or the feeling of electric shock waves might be caused by the nerve damage. 5. Muscle Weakness. In case the muscles do not get the sufficient oxygen amounts from red blood cells, they weaken, and become sluggish. But, what to do? You should consume more dairy, eggs, poultry and animal protein sources, and take supplements with B12. We strongly advise the intake of its form known as methylcobalamin, which is best better absorbed within your body. thank you for watching. please like, comment, subscribe and share with your friends and family.

5 Signs Of Vitamin Deficiency That Can be Seen On Your Face Instantly

03:09
Here are five signs of vitamin deficiencies that can be seen on your face: 1. Puffy Eyes. Do your eyes look extra puffy in the morning? Puffy eyes often indicate that you’re not getting enough sleep, but they can also be sign of low iodine levels in the body. Eat This: Cranberries, yogurt, kelp, potatoes, strawberries and navy beans. 2. Extremely Pale Skin. You might notice you’re looking a little pale in the dead of winter, but if your skin has become overly pale, it could be a sign that you’re lacking Vitamin B12. If your body isn’t getting enough B12, you’ll start to feel fatigued and your skin can suffer. Eat This: Salmon, red meat, fortified cereals, yogurt and Swiss cheese. 3. Dry Hair. Has your hair felt extra dry and brittle lately? Have you noticed a large amount of dandruff on your scalp? These could be signs that you’re lacking biotin or Vitamin B7. A biotin deficiency can be the result of using antibiotics. Eat This: Eggs, almonds, nuts, legumes and whole grains. 4. Pale Lips. Pale lips can be a sign that you’re lacking in iron. An iron deficiency can cause your immune system to become weak. If you’re getting sick often, it could be another sign that your body needs more iron. Eat This: Red meat, seafood, beans, dark green leafy vegetables, iron-fortified cereals and peas. 5. Bleeding Gums. If your gums have been bleeding lately, it could indicate a lack of Vitamin C in your body. Without Vitamin C, your immune system can weaken, causing muscle pain and problems with your teeth. Eat This: Oranges, red peppers, kale, Brussels sprouts, broccoli, strawberries and grapefruit.

Signs and Symptoms of Vitamin B12 Deficiency You Should Not Ignore

10:17
Descriptions of Signs of Vitamin B12 Deficiency: Why is vitamin B12 important and where can i get vitamin b12? Vitamin B12 is vital for the formation of red blood cells that carry oxygen around the body. It is also needed for the proper functioning and health of nerve tissue, as it is involved in producing the protective myelin sheath that covers the nerves and conducts nerve impulses. It works together with folate in the metabolism of cells, especially affecting DNA synthesis and fatty acid and amino acid metabolism. This particular B vitamin also helps our bodies absorb folic acid, which facilitates the release of energy. Since your body doesn’t make vitamin B12, it is important to get it from food sources (especially animal-based foods, fruits with vitamin b12) or supplements on a regular basis, vitamin b12 serum, b12 energy or vitamin b12 supplement. Always consult your doctor before starting any supplement regimen. Here are the top 5 signs of vitamin B12 deficiency. review : 01:02 Fatigue and Low Energy 02:05 Numbness and Tingling Sensations 03:08 Low Blood Pressure 04:06 Skin Lesions 05:11 Depression 1. Fatigue and Low Energy This vitamin plays a prominent role in energy metabolism, hence its deficiency has a direct impact on your energy and endurance levels. Vitamin B12 enhances your body’s ability to make DNA for new cells to provide energy. It is also needed to form healthy red blood cells that carry oxygen to the whole body. Without proper oxygen levels, you feel tired and lethargic. Plus, B12 is needed to turn the food you eat into energy to power your metabolism. Low metabolism prevents you from feeling your best and performing at your highest energy level. 2. Numbness and Tingling Sensations Vitamin B12 plays a key role in keeping your nervous system healthy. Thus, neurological signs like numbness or a tingling sensation in the hands and feet can indicate its deficiency. Vitamin B12 helps in the manufacturing of nerves and, moreover, it has a key role in helping oxygen reach different parts of the body. Poor oxygen supply is one of the main causes of numbness and tingling sensations. Its deficiency can also cause balance problems. 3. Low Blood Pressure Deficiencies of vitamin B12 and folic acid can cause anemia, which can lead to low blood pressure, also known as hypotension. Vitamin B12 helps your body produce red blood cells so that adequate oxygen reaches each and every part of your body, including the heart. A 2012 study published in the Texas Heart Institute Journal reports that vitamin B12 deficiency is well known among neurologists but is often overlooked by cardiologists when treating low blood pressure. If you suffer from low blood pressure, opt for a B12 test. Even moderate forms of low blood pressure can cause shortness of breath, dizziness, weakness, fainting and risk of injury from falls. 4. Skin Lesions Low vitamin B12 can also cause skin lesions and hair changes. A 2008 study published in Canadian Family Physicians reports that vitamin B12 deficiency is linked to skin lesions. Unexplained and non-resolving skin lesions can signal vitamin B12 deficiency, hence you need to visit your doctor as soon as possible. Along with skin lesions, its deficiency can cause hyperpigmentation of the skin, which leads to uneven skin color and dark patches on the skin. 5. Depression This particular B vitamin is also essential for mental health. Its role in forming red blood cells in turn helps support a healthy nervous system. Plus, it helps lower the level of homocysteine, a by product of protein metabolism. A high level of homocysteine in the body can lead to depression. This is why it is important to consider the possibility of B12 deficiency, especially among the elderly suffering from depression, according to a 2009 study published in the Journal of Clinical Psychiatry emphasis upon. In fact, a 2013 study published in the Open Neurology Journal shed light on the importance of vitamin B12 supplementation in the treatment of major depressive disorder. The study found that people with depression experienced significant improvement in symptoms when treated with vitamin B12 supplementation as well as antidepressants. www.DrHagmyer.com In this video Dr Hagmeyer explains the different kinds of B12 vitamins, the symptoms of B12 deficiency and the causes of B12 deficiency. The following are the most common symptoms for megaloblastic anemia. However, each individual may experience symptoms differently. Symptoms may include: Weak, Numbness or tingling in hands and feet, Difficulty walking, Nausea, Decreased appetite, Weight loss, Irritability, Lack of energy or tiring easily (fatigue), Diarrhea, smooth and tender tongue, Increased heart rate (tachycardia), The symptoms of megaloblastic anemia may resemble other blood conditions or health problems. Other types of megaloblastic anemia may be associated with type 1 diabetes, thyroid disease, and a family history of the disease. I'm also going to talk about how to overcome Vitamin B12 deficiency and the health benefits of Vitamin B12. Surprisingly, about 40% of the population is deficient. The biggest reason most people have Vitamin B12 deficiency is because they don’t have a healthy digestive system to digest this vitamin properly, also known as leaky gut. If you can’t absorb nutrients and vitamins properly, then you won’t be able to absorb the vitamins you need for optimal health. People who struggle with leaky gut or digestive issues, vegans or vegetarians, and people who don’t’ have enough probiotics in their diet all tend to have a Vitamin B12 deficiency. Some of the benefits of Vitamin B12 include red blood cell formation, which is vital to heart health, cellular function, and supporting the brain and nerve system. If you want to overcome Vitamin B12 deficiency, then you must identify the cause and then follow these specific steps: 1. Consume more Vitamin B12-rich foods (liver, wild caught fish, grass-fed lamb and beef) 2. Probiotic (increases absorption) 3. Heal your gut (getting inflammatory foods out of your diet 4. Supplementation (VitaminB12, B complex, desiccated liver supplement) 5.Get blood work and Tested for MTHFR and other possible causes. http://www.drhagmeyer.com/hashimotos-thyroid-disease/watch-out-for-vitamin-b12-deficiency-with-hashimoto/ http://www.drhagmeyer.com/natural-treatments/b12-deficiency-some-researchers-calling-it-a-silent-epidemic-with-serious-consequences/ http://www.drhagmeyer.com/natural-treatments/tests-to-understand-depression-and-anxiety-in-thyroid-disease-organic-acid-testing/

Never Ignore These Warning Signs Of Vitamin B12 Deficiency

Never Ignore These Warning Signs Of Vitamin B12 Deficiency The deficiency of vitamin B12, or hypocobalaminemia, refers to the reduced levels of this vitamin in the blood. It is manifested by many signs and symptoms, many of them related to the psychological and emotional health. This is due to the fact that this vitamin is a powerhouse, and is essential for the healthy function of the brain, the production of DNA, nerve and blood cells, and a healthy immune system. Vitamin B12 – What Causes B12 Deficiency & Good B12 Sources

07:04
What is vitamin B12, where do you get it and what depletes it? What are the best sources of vitamin B12? If you got a blood test and they told you your B12 was low, it doesn’t mean anything. Serum B12 levels do not reflect true B12 levels since most B12 in the body is stored in the liver and blood tests do not determine stored B12 levels.   http://www.MarkusNews.com B12 is stored in the body for years and years and the odds are that in that time, you will accumulate more B12. Vitamin B12 is basically bacteria poop. In the natural world, (the way we were designed to live), you would pull a carrot out of the ground, brush it off and eat it. There would be little bits of dirt and millions of microscopic organisms all over that carrot. B12! Do you actually think in the 5-7 years B12 stays in your body, you are not going to be exposed to some dirt and bacteria? Heck, even your own gut bacteria, (your probiotics) produce some B12. They say vegetarians and vegans need to supplement B12 because they don’t eat meat. That’s another joke. 90 percent of America is meat eaters and 60 percent of America is deficient in B12, … so how come half the meat eaters are low in B12? Well lets look at why meat eaters sometimes have more B12. It’s not rocket science. Meat is rotting flesh. There’s a lot of nasty bacteria in meat. The minute anything is killed- plant or animal, it starts to decay. Decaying meat requires more aggressive and dangerous bacteria than plants. If you lived in nature only eating plants, you’d be getting more than enough B12. There’s even some B12 in my green formula. Seaweed is a great source of B12. Those of you who get my Sea Moss, haha- what an experience when you open that bag huh? All dirty and smelly. What a nasty fishy smell. That’s what stuff is like when you take it fresh right out of the ocean. It’s FULL of B12. Even after washing and soaking it multiple times, there is still B12 stuck in the tiny pores. There’s B12 in nutritional yeast, even kale and farm produce that still has some dirt stuck in the cracks. Remember also, you have 5 pounds of beneficial bacteria in your gut which also produces some B12. You can feed them and make them stronger by eating more fiber- that's what they love to eat. Then there’s fermented and cultured foods- a GREAT source of B12. Every little bit adds up. And since it stays in your body for years, odds are you are getting enough B12. Now it’s possible that you may actually be low in B12. So the REAL question isn’t “where do I get B12”,…it should be “what’s robbing me of B12 and how can I stop it?” The answer to all of your health issues should not be “what do I take” but “what do I STOP doing that’s causing the problem in the first place”, otherwise you are simply trying to patch holes in a sinking ship. The first place to look is your stomach. B12 is acid dependent for absorption. Older people have B12 issues not because they don’t have enough B12 in their body, but because it can’t ABSORB properly because stomach acidity declines with age. Bread, bagels and other wheat products absorb stomach acid like a sponge. They also turn into simple sugars which feeds candida yeast and H Pylori which radically deplete stomach acid. Antacids, baking soda and alkaline water cancels out stomach acid. Most people have low stomach acid as a result from not knowing what and how to eat.  Almost everybody, even raw foodists are sugar addicts and they choose what to eat based on how it tastes, not what they really need, resulting in a body that doesn't work right. Ok, anyway, if you want B12 to absorb, you need strong stomach acid for for that you need to cut down on bread and sugar and start adding more bitter things to your diet. You can rebuild stomach acid by using more acids in your diet like apple cider vinegar, lemon etc, and also sea salt, B-complex vitamins and 50 mg zinc with meals, plus bitter greens like arugula, endives, watercress etc and also my liver formula.  Do NOT drink alkaline water! This speeds up the whole mess of weakening stomach acid, nutrient absorption, lower B12 etc. Another thing that lowers stomach acid is adrenal burnout, the biggest factors being stress and stimulants- coffee, energy drinks, sugar, stuff like that. You can strengthen your adrenals with adaptogenic herbs like licorice root, ashwagandha, schizandra berry, astragalus, jiaogulan, nettle leaf and alma berry. You can get your own or simply get my Adrenal kit where I put the herbs together for you. As B12 pills go, sublingual methylcobalamin is the kind you want, not cyanocobalamin. Sure you can pop a B12 pill. But listen to what I’m saying. Simply taking a pill is not going to necessarily make you any better if you don’t stop doing what’s causing the problem in the first place! Stop trying to hide symptoms and get rid of the cause. That’s the only real road to true health. Vegetarians do not need meat to get Vitamin B12 https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/27596424

Vitamin B12 Deficiency treatment With 5 Natural Food

10:21
Vitamin B12 deficiency treatment with 5 natural Food. While you cannot control hereditary and some environmental factors, you can still lower your risk of Vitamin B12 deficiency by making healthy diet and lifestyle choices. A well-planned diet can help prevent many lack of Vitamin B12. Here's a list of some of the best foods and herbs to eat if your goal is to prevent and cure Vitamin B12 deficiency. 01:02 Beef Liver. 02:05 Sardines. 03:09 Feta Cheese. 04:07 Wild-Caught Salmon. 05:06 Nutritional Yeast. 1 ounce of Beef liver = 20 micrograms (over 300 percent DV). The top benefit of eating liver is it’s very high B12 content. All it takes is one ounce of beef liver to get well over most people’s daily requirements for B12. Just always make sure to purchase beef liver of the highest quality. That means liver that’s organic from grass-fed and pasture-raised cows. Consuming beef liver can help prevent anemia because not only is it high in vitamin B12, but it’s also high in iron and and folate. These are three nutrients that can aid in a natural recovery from anemia. 3 ounces 0f Sardines = 6.6 micrograms (over 100 percent DV). Sardines are very high in vitamin B12, and they’re also impressively high in something else vital to human health: omega-3 fatty acids. Research has shown that the omega-3s contained in sardines nutrition can have all kinds of major health benefits, including boosting heart health, decreasing inflammation and helping asthma. 0.5 cup of Feta cheese = 1.25 micrograms (21 percent DV). Feta cheese is a great source of vitamin B12 and many other nutrients, such as riboflavin (vitamin B2) and calcium. Traditionally, feta cheese is made from sheep’s milk or a mix of sheep’s and goat’s milk. If you can find feta cheese made from raw sheep/goat’s milk the nutrition and health benefits are even better. Its high riboflavin content is excellent news for headache sufferers since studies have shown that riboflavin can significantly reduce the frequency of headaches, including migraines. 3 ounces of Wild-caught salmon = 2.6 micrograms (42 percent DV). Wild-caught salmon is one of the healthiest and most nutritious protein sources. Of course, you need to choose wild and not farmed to make the most of this fish when it comes to your health. Wild-caught salmon is packed with vitamin B12 as well as vitamin D, which is another common vitamin deficiency these days. Research has demonstrated that 800 to 5,000 IU of vitamin D per day can improve musculoskeletal health, naturally slow aging of the skeletal structure, and reduce the rate of fractures and falls in older adults who are over 65. 1 tablespoon of Nutritional yeast = 2.4 micrograms (40 percent DV). If you’re a vegetarian or vegan looking for a way to get more B12 in your diet, nutritional yeast is a great option. It’s typically fortified with B12 and other B vitamins. Nutritional yeast is also considered a complete protein since it contains at least nine of the 18 amino acids that the human body is unable to produce. Pain is your body signaling to you that something is wrong. Be Smart about Your Symptoms, Know When It’s Time to See a Doctor. Each of the symptoms listed here could, at first, result in an incorrect diagnosis. The more information you are able to provide, the sooner your doctor will know the best course of action. Lose up to 24 pounds in 6 weeks (free guide): https://www.focusfitness.net/ffyt-fat-crusher-plan This video will show you vitamin B12 deficiency symptoms most people ignore 1. Pins and needles Pins and needles (or the feeling of numbness) throughout the body when you haven’t compressed any part of your body, can indicate a B12 issue 2. Extreme fatigue Your body relies on vitamin B12 to make red blood cells, which carry oxygen to your organs. And without enough oxygen in your cells, you'll feel tired no matter how long you sleep 3. Breathlessness Shortness of breath during rest is an indicator that something’s not right. Just like heart palpitations, anemia can cause breathlessness due to a lack of oxygen in the blood 4. Pale skin Red blood cells are responsible for the rosy color in our cheeks. When red blood cell production decreases—as it does in anemic individuals—the skin becomes pale and colorless 5. Forgetfulness and confusion One of the more frightening symptoms of B12 deficiency is severe forgetfulness and confusion. This symptom most frequently occurs in older adults and can be misdiagnosed as dementia 6. Mood disorders B12 helps regulate the production of mood-controlling chemicals such as serotonin. When B12 levels are lowered, production of these chemicals are interrupted, which can result in certain mood disorders 7. Yellowish eyes A B12 deficiency can cause a breakdown in red blood cell production, which results in a buildup of bilirubin. Eyes become yellowish when bilirubin builds up in the blood stream 8. Changes in vision Low levels of B12 in the body can cause nerve damage, one of the more serious symptoms of B12 deficiency is blurry vision 9. Heart palpitations Feel a flutter in your chest? You could be experiencing heart palpitations due to decreased oxygen circulation 10. Anemia A B12 deficiency can cause anemia. Red blood cells carry oxygen all over the body. When the body doesn’t produce enough red blood cells, the available oxygen decreases as well vitamin b12 foods what is vitamin b12 b12 deficiency neurological symptoms vitamin b12 supplement vitamin b12 deficiency symptoms in me

How to Naturally Overcome Vitamin B12 Deficiency

07:33
For more on Vitamin B12 foods, you can check out my article: https://draxe.com/top-10-vitamin-b12-foods/ In this video, I’m going to talk about how to overcome Vitamin B12 deficiency and the health benefits of Vitamin B12. Surprisingly, about 40% of the population is deficient. Some of the big warning signs that you are Vitamin B12 deficient are if you struggle with low energy, fatigue, lack of focus, poor memory, poor cellular function, autoimmune disease, anemia, or thyroid condition. People who struggle with leaky gut or digestive issues, vegans or vegetarians, and people who don’t have enough probiotics in their diet all tend to have a Vitamin B12 deficiency. Some of the benefits of Vitamin B12 include red blood cell formation, which is vital to heart health, cellular function, and supporting the brain and nerve system. If you want to overcome Vitamin B12 deficiency, then you must follow these specific steps: 1. Consume more Vitamin B12-rich foods (liver, wild-caught fish, grass-fed lamb and beef, and raw dairy products) 2. Take a Probiotic (increases absorption) 3. Heal your gut (getting inflammatory foods out of your diet) 4. Supplementation (Vitamin B12, B complex, desiccated liver supplement) If you can follow these steps, you will notice improvements immediately and overcome your Vitamin B12 deficiency. *This content is strictly the opinion of Dr. Josh Axe, and is for informational and educational purposes only. Signs You're Not Getting Enough Vitamin B12 In Your Diet

02:51
Vitamin B12, also known as cobalamin, is an important water-soluble vitamin. It plays an essential role in the production of your red-blood-cells and DNA, as well as the proper functioning of your nervous system. Vitamin-B12 is naturally found in animal-foods, including meats, fish, poultry, eggs and dairy. However, it can also be found in products fortified with B12, such as some varieties of bread and plant-based milk. Unfortunately, B12 deficiency is common. You’re at risk of deficiency if you don’t get enough from your diet or aren’t able to absorb enough from the food you eat. Here are 5-signs and symptoms of a true vitamin B12 deficiency. 1.Pale or Jaundiced Skin People with a B12 deficiency often look pale or have a slight yellow tinge to the skin and whites of the eyes, a condition known as jaundice. This happens when a lack of B12 causes problems with your body's red blood cell production. These red blood cells are too large to pass-out of your bone-marrow and into your circulation. Therefore, you don’t have as many red-blood-cells circulating around your body, and your skin can appear pale in color. 2.Weakness and Fatigue Weakness and fatigue are common symptoms of vitamin B12 deficiency. They occur because your body doesn’t have enough vitamin B12 to make red blood cells, which transport oxygen throughout your body. As a result, you are unable to efficiently transport oxygen to your body’s cells, making you feel weak and tired. 3.Mood Changes People with B12 deficiency often report changes in mood. In fact, low levels of B12 have been linked to mood and brain disorders like depression and dementia. The “homocysteine hypothesis of depression” has been suggested as a potential explanation for this link. This theory suggests that high levels of homocysteine caused by low levels of B12 could cause damage to the brain tissue and interfere with signals to and from your brain, leading to mood changes. 4.Breathlessness and Dizziness If you become anemic due to a B12 deficiency, you may feel short of breath and a bit-dizzy, especially when you exert yourself. This is because your body lacks the red-blood-cells it needs to get enough oxygen to your body’s cells. However, these symptoms can have many causes, so if you notice that you are unusually breathless, you should speak to your doctor to investigate the cause. 5.Disturbed Vision One symptom of vitamin B12 deficiency is blurred or disturbed vision. This can occur when an untreated B12 deficiency results in nervous system damage to the optic nerve that leads to your eyes. The damage can disrupt the nervous signal that travels from your eye to your brain, impairing your vision. This condition is known as optic neuropathy. Although alarming, it is often reversible by supplementing with B12. If you’re at risk and have any of the symptoms above, speak to your doctor. For most people, a B12 deficiency should be easy to prevent simply by ensuring you are getting enough B12 in your diet.

Folate & B12 Deficiency, Megaloblastic Anemia Hypersegmented Macrocytic Methylmalonic

13:14
http://www.stomponstep1.com/folate-b12-deficiency-megaloblastic-anemia-hypersegmented/ Vitamin B9 (Folate/Folic Acid) is very important for 1 carbon chemical reactions (AKA methylation) during the creation of DNA. These functions are particularly important in tissues that undergo frequent cellular division (like hematopoietic cells) and during periods of rapid cellular division (such as infancy and pregnancy). Folate is found naturally in leafy vegetables and Folium is the Latin word for leaf. Today many grains are also fortified with Folate. With so many items having Folate added a deficiency from decreased intake of Folate is not very common. Usually a deficiency is caused by an increased demand for folate through pregnancy or hemolytic anemias such as Sickle Cell Disease. Folate deficiencies in pregnant women are linked with the occurrence of Neural Tube Defects in the fetus. A deficiency can also be caused by drugs that inhibit the pathways that Folate is involved in such as Trimethoprim (antibiotic) and Methotrexate (Chemotherapy). A Folate deficiency primarily causes anemia (decreased red blood cells). Anemias can present with a wide range of symptoms including weakness, fatigue, pale skin and shortness of breath. Folate Deficiency causes a specific type of Anemia called Macrocytic/Megaloblstic Anemia where the size (Mean Corpuscular Volume) of the red blood cells increased. This is because as the creation of DNA is inhibited the cell cycle in the hematopoietic cells is stalled. Cellular division is stopped but the cell continues to grow resulting in a smaller number of cells which are larger than normal cells. Patients with this type of anemia also often present with Hypersegmented Neutrophils on a blood smear, which is a neutrophil with 5 or more "segments" in the nucleus. You are also going to see an elevation of Homocysteine levels in Folate Deficiency. This is because B12 needs to receive a methyl group from Folate so it can pass it on to Homocysteine to create Methionine. Less Folate means B12 doesn't have a methyl group to pass on and Homocysteine builds up. Unlike B12 deficiencies, Folate deficiency does not result in a buildup of Methylmalonic Acid or neurological symptoms. Vitamin B12 (Cobalamin) is a vitamin, like Folate, that is important for 1 carbon chemical reactions. B12 is found in many animal products and Vegans are at the highest risk of deficiency. B12 taken in through the diet is bound to proteins. Stomach acid and digestive enzymes must first separate B12 from the proteins. If there is a deficiency of stomach acid due to disease or medication (like proton pump inhibitors or antacids) it can cause decreased absorption and B12 deficiency. Once it is no longer protein bound, B12 binds Intrinsic Factor which is released by the Parietal Cells in the stomach. Intrinsic Factor then chaperones the B12 to the terminal ileum where it is absorbed. Pernicious Anemia is the autoimmune destruction of parietal cells which leads to less Intrinsic Factor production. Less intrinsic factor means less B12 absorption and B12 deficiency. Damage to the terminal ileum, such as in Crohn's Disease, can also inhibit B12 absorption. Folate and B12 work closely together handing off methyl groups to each other. It is sort of like a game of hot potato. Folate doesn't "want" the methyl group so it passes it on to B12. B12 doesn't "want" it either so it passes it off to methionine. In effect, B12 helps recycle methyltetrahydrofolate back into tetrohydrofolate which can be used to create DNA. This means that a deficiency of B12 can cause a deficiency of Folate as less Folate is being recycled into its "active" form. Therefore, B12 deficiency present very similarly to Folate deficiency. You get Macrocytic/Megaloblastic Anemia with Hypersegmented Neutrophils and increased Homocysteine levels. If you mistakenly diagnose Folate Deficiency when it is really B12 Deficiency the patient will get better with Folate supplementation, but permanent neurological damage will be done overtime. Odd chain fatty acids are broken down to eventually give Methylmalonyl CoA. B12 is a cofactor in the process that converts methylmalonyl CoA into Succinyl CoA which can then be used in the TCA cycle to generate energy. If there is not enough B12 this reaction is slowed and Methylmalonic Acid builds up.
