Adverse Effects of Statins are Far Worse Than You Think

07:18
Whenever drug is criticised, big pharma comes to the rescue to salvage profits. What else would you expect when the reason big pharma exists is to make profits for their shareholders. Last year (2013) the British Medical Journal printed an article that criticized a previous article published in the same journal that suggested extending treatment with statins for people with a low risk for cardiovasculars disease. Needless to say, this caused a hullabaloo for those people who published the previous study, the Cholesterol Treatment Trialists' Collaboration, with the contention that their data that showed an 18-20% incidence of adverse drug reactions was incorrect. Of course, it depends on what you consider an ADE! Most of the data identifying the side effects comes from the website of the manufacturer of the drug in question. Do you think this information is likely to include the full extent of side effects when the goal is to sell drug to make profit? For example, we reported a study showing that 40% of people on statins had muscle fatigue, and in 10% it was severe. It is necessary to add up the percentages from each side effect to see the incidence of side effects. Have a look at this URL: http://www.doctorsaputo.com/a/statins-cause-fatigue

↓ 5 Important & Clinically Proven Reasons You Should NOT Take Statin Drugs

06:33
How my parents lowered their cholesterol by 30 pts in 30 days - no diets or drugs. An all natural alternative to statin drugs. ►►►http://drsam.co/yt/NoMoreStatin =============================== 5 Important & Clinically Proven Reasons You Should NOT Take Statin Drugs =============================== Statins are HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors. They work by blocking the enzyme (HMG-CoA reductase) in your liver, that is responsible for making cholesterol. Now, this is very important topic to me personally, because over 15+ years ago my parent’s were prescribed these toxic drugs and they had a ton of negative side-effects. Unfortunately back then, we didn’t have all the data we have now. The pharmaceutical companies did a great job of hiding them. Today I’m going to reveal the top 5, clinically proven reasons, why you should NOT take statin drugs and one of my favorite, natural alternatives that my own parents use. Reason #1 - They DON’T Work! Statin drugs DO lower your cholesterol levels, but don’t think they lower your risk of heart disease, heart attacks or strokes. Based on the statistics of “Relative Risk Reduction (RRR)”, statins reduce the risk for only 1% of the population - that’s it!8 Reason #2 - Increase Your Risk Major Disease, Including Cancer! Statins increase your risk for diabetes. And what’s interesting is that over 50% of people who have heart disease, have elevated glucose and blood sugar levels. So the irony is that the statin drugs will indirectly INCREASE your risk of heart disease by increasing your blood sugar levels. Statins also cause neurodegenerative diseases, such as memory loss, Alzheimer’s, Huntington’s and Parkinson’s. Statins also cause musculoskeletal disorders, leading to muscle pain and weakness (myalgia), muscle cramps and other muscular problems. Statins also cause cataracts, which is a clouding of your eye lens and is a main cause of low vision among the elderly. Finally, statin drugs are known to cause cancer. Reason #3 - Deplete Important Nutrients Statin drugs deplete two very important nutrients in your body. The first is Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10). CoQ10 is used for energy production by every cell in your body, and is therefore vital for good health, high energy levels, longevity, and general quality of life. What’s important to know is that your heart is the most energy-demanding organ in your body. By depleting CoQ10, your heart slowly becomes weaker and ages faster. In addition to CoQ10, statin drug also reduce Vitamin K2. This is important for you to know because Vitamin K2 protects your arteries from calcification. Without it, plaque levels worsen. Reason #4 - Liver Problems & Toxicity Of all the negative side-effects associated with statin drugs, the most common was “drug induced liver injury”… This accounts for a whopping 57% of all statin related “adverse drug reactions”, which included potentially severe and some cases, deadly consequences such as: Death from acute liver failure Liver transplantation Jaundice Liver problems are so bad with statin drugs that each year there are millions of people diagnosed “moderate to serious liver dysfunction”! Remember, your liver detoxifies and cleanses your entire body. Poor liver function greatly accelerates aging! Reason #5 - Natural Alternatives Exist You don’t need to take statin drugs because natural alternatives already exist. Nature already has the answers, NOT the pharmaceutical companies. I’m sure you already know this…. Drugs can be used SHORT-TERM, to quickly improve a health problem … TEMPORARILY. But positive, long-term benefits can only be seen and felt using natural means. This way, you have a proven, simple and convenient solution for your high cholesterol, while being so much safer than statin drugs. Side Effects of Taking Statins

03:36
About 20% of adults over 45 are taking a statin medication. But should they be...and are they all benefitting from it? We talked to an expert to find out, and we're bringing you the bottom line on what everybody should know about taking statin medications. Hi, I'm Pilar Gerasimo with a Bottom Line Expert report on some of the dangerous side effects associated with a class of cholesterol-lowering drugs known as statins. I'm here with Dr. Suzanne Steinbaum, the director of Women's Heart Health at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City. I've heard that statins have been described by some experts as the most dangerous drug on the market. I've heard also that about one in four adults over 45 are currently taking them. So it strikes me that there must be some either very underpublicized risks associated with statins...or we're just not getting the whole story. Every medication has a risk and a benefit. If the risks or side effects outweigh the benefits, that makes the drug dangerous. There have been a lot of people who do not need statins who have been given them, and that makes this drug dangerous for those people. What are some of the side effects associated with statins? One of the most common side effects is muscle aches or body aches, joint pain, oftentimes people feel them in their legs. Some other side effects are elevated liver tests, which could be a problem, but once the statins are stopped, usually those enzymes or liver tests come down. There could be kidney abnormalities if doses of statins are too high. Some people describe fog brain, really sort of this inability to think, and again, when the statin is stopped, these symptoms go away. But those are the most common things we see in people taking statins. What about the special risks for women taking statins? I've heard that particularly with healthy women, taking statins can increase their risk for diabetes. I'm glad you asked that question, because the headline said "Statins Lead to Diabetes in Women," but in that particular study, it looked at women who were at risk for diabetes in the first place. They were given statins, and over time, their diabetes developed. Healthy women shouldn't be taking statins in the first place, but if they are, they're not at risk for diabetes. Wasn't there also a recent study that showed there are actually more people being harmed by taking statins unnecessarily than people without preexisting conditions that were being saved by them? I mean, are millions of people just wasting their money and increasing their risk at the same time? There are many people taking statins who really don't need to be on them, but we know for sure that for people who have had a heart attack or heart disease or stents, statins are lifesaving. If you're at intermediate risk for heart disease and have risk factors—high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, smoking, family history, sedentary lifestyle, stress—and you fit into this category, then a statin should be considered. Short of that, it's not for you. The bottom line on statins—they're not right for everyone, particularly if you don't have more than one risk factor. And they can carry some pretty serious side effects. So to be on the safe side, it's best to check with your doctor and make sure that statins are right for you. Side Effects Of Cholesterol Medicine

03:10
Hi! I'm robo-Suzie and today I'll talk to you about Side Effects Of Cholesterol Medicine. Also don't forget to subscribe for more tips in the future! But back to our topic. Any prescription medication can have side effects. Most of these are not pleasant. The reasoning of why we put up with these side effects is that it is better to deal with them than the condition which the medication treats - in this case, elevated cholesterol levels. Such drugs work to lower cholesterol which, in turn, reduces the risk of cardiovascular disease. There are two popular classes of drugs used to treat high cholesterol. They are specifically aimed at lowering LDL cholesterol. One is the group known as statins and the others are bile acid sequestrants. The most well known of the latter group is Niacin (nicotinic acid) which comes in both prescription form and as a dietary supplement. Popular statin brands are Lipitor, Crestor, Zocor, and Pravachol. Both classes of cholesterol medicine can have troublesome side effects. Higher doses of statins may be associated with a greater risk of side effects such that side effects tend to be dose-related and may disappear after reducing the dosage or, if necessary, withdrawing the medication. However, even if side effects are experienced, cholesterol medication should not normally be discontinued without consulting a physician. But speak to your doctor immediately. Do not wait for your next visit. Side Effects Of Cholesetrol Lowering Drugs include: Constipation. Nausea. Loss of appetite. Pain in the upper right part of the stomach. Fever. Flu-like symptoms. Hoarseness. Extreme tiredness. Lack of energy. Rash, hives or itching. Muscle pain, tenderness, or weakness. Yellowing of the skin or eyes. Unusual bleeding or bruising. Difficulty breathing or swallowing. Swelling of the face, throat, tongue, lips, eyes, hands, feet, ankles or lower legs. Lowering Cholesterol Medication Should Not Be Taken In Isolation. In addition to taking a cholesterol-lowering medication, making certain changes in your daily lifestyle can also lower your cholesterol blood levels. Eating a diet low in saturated fat and cholesterol with little to no grains and sugars and exercising for 30 minutes on most, if not all days, will make a big difference. As will losing weight if you are overweight. Eliminating sugar and grains will inevitably cause beneficial side effects, such as normalizing your weight, increasing your energy and lowering your blood pressure and triglycerides. Lifestyle changes will work in the majority of cases of high cholesterol so why not try those first and give yourself the chance to avoid the cholesterol medicine side effects. Your physician will be able to advise you on this. That's it! Thank you. Please subscribe, comment and like this video if it was helpful! See you soon!

Statin Side Effects

04:37
http://heartfitclinic.com for free webinar. Statin Side Effects Cardiovascular disease is the number one cause of death and number one cause of hospitalization in developed countries. Statin drugs are a common drug of choice in the prevention (lower cholesterol) and treatment of heart disease. The research is quite compelling showing the benefits of statin therapy. However does everyone need a statin? Let me start off by saying I am a big fan of statin therapy early on in the diagnosed heart disease process if patients can handle it. There should be a goal to eventually wane off this medication with a heart healthy lifestyle. The latest research on statin drug side effects shows that high potency statins are linked to acute kidney injury. What is high potency? 1. 10 mg or more of rosuvastatin (Crestor) 2. 20 mg or more of atorvastatin (Lipitor) 3. 40 mg or more of simvastatin (Zocor) Other side effects of statin drug therapy include: 1. Muscle pain and damage (Check out our great post on coenzyme q10 statins) 2. Liver damage. 3. Digestive problems. 4. Increased blood sugar or type 2 diabetes. 5. Neurological side effects such as memory loss, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS, Lou Gehrig's disease) Talks are they should be in the water that we drink but really you can do a lot with nutrition. I just read that there was a grocery store chain that was providing free statins (atorvastatin) to its customers. This was obviously a marketing promotion to get new customers. Pfizer branded Lipitor (atorvastatin) but their patent expired in 2011. So now the blockbuster drug is on the generic market. Pfizer has now just announced it will not market the drug anymore (all about making the shareholders happy). At the end of the day statins are a drug and they can come with side effects. The risks of taking a statin with statin side effects should be outweighed of the benefits. Because statins have side effect caution should be used when prescribing these drugs. Patients should understand the side effects of statin drugs. If you are diagnosed with high cholesterol and have been prescribed a statin then a good discussion has to be had with your prescribing doctor as to the reasons why? Doctors are given a handful of minutes at times with patients and try to mask the problem with a drug. Having high cholesterol does not mean you have to take statin therapy. As mentioned there are side effects and patients should be given a chance to reduce their numbers through lifestyle intervention. Good exercise program, stress management practices and nutrition program with possibly some supplements. Try this lifestyle therapy for 3 to 6 months and most people will see a big difference without having to go on statin therapy. In the event no change has been made then your healthcare team can decide the next step. It is important to understand that cholesterol is not the reason people end up with heart disease. It is inflammation. So the goal is to lower the inflammatory response. The reason statins do a great job is that it lowers LDL cholesterol and it also lower inflammatory response. You can always read my post on the truth about how to lower cholesterol. To your heart health success, Diamond Fernandes

Do Statins Cause Side Effects? 4 Natural Ways to Lower Cholesterol Instead

06:18
How to lower your cholesterol so you can avoid needing statins. Many people complain of side effects from statins, despite claims they are safe. In this video I reveal the reason why statins may cause side effects and how to prevent them. Millions of people take statins daily to lower our cholesterol and to avoid the danger of a stroke or fatal heart attack. Their effectiveness at lowering cholesterol is proven. But many people believe they may cause unpleasant side effects. This includes muscle pain, weakness, fatigue, memory loss, low sex drive, depression and a higher risk of infections. However, according to a controversial study published on The Lancet website, these side effects are in people’s heads. While other research has suggested that the side effects may be an unintended consequence of how statins work. According to Dr. John Briffa, a practicing doctor, author and international speaker, “while statins may ‘save lives’ in the relative short-term by reducing the risk of, say, heart attacks, they may possibly cause some people to perish in the long term.” You should NEVER stop taking statins without consulting your doctor first. They may, in fact, be protecting you from a heart attack or stroke. But by following these steps may help to lower your cholesterol and potentially help you avoid needing statins at all: 1. Eliminate trans fats from your diet. Trans fats are found in fried foods and many everyday snacks, like cookies. They can be lethal at increasing bad LDL cholesterol and destroying good HDL cholesterol.(6) 2. Get 30 minutes of moderate exercise daily. This will help raise good HDL cholesterol and to help you get rid of dangerous belly fat. To help you stay motivated, why not join a walking or cycling group in your area to make your exercise more sociable and fun, as well as healthy. 3. Give up smoking If you can quit, within one year your risk of heart disease may be half that of a smoker. And within 15 years, your risk of heart disease may be like that of someone who never smoked. 4. Drink alcohol in moderation. We already know that regular heavy drinking can cause high blood pressure, heart failure and strokes. And recent studies suggest it may cause memory loss and dementia too.(8) Even if you don’t suffer from side effects, you need to know that statins have been found to block the production of THREE key nutrients in the gut, along with cholesterol. These are nutrients that feed our body and brain’s with energy, neutralize free radicals, improve heart health and repair cell damage. So when you deplete these nutrients in your body, it may have all sorts of unintended consequences. Thankfully, there is a way of naturally boosting the nutrients that are depleted by statins, to help avoid the risk of side effects and future health problems. On the Erudite Lifestyle website, we have an article that explains what these nutrients are, what they do in your body and a drug-free way of replenishing them safely, which can also lower your cholesterol. So if you are currently taking statins and have noticed any muscle pain, a lack of energy, poor memory, low sex drive or depression, then I recommend checking out our article to find out the possible reason why: http://eruditelifestyle.co.uk/real-reason-statins-may-cause-side-effects-help-avoid References 1. http://www.webmd.com/cholesterol-management/side-effects-of-statin-drugs 2. https://www.theguardian.com/society/2017/may/02/statin-side-effects-down-to-negative-expectations-not-the-drugs-nocebo 3.http://www.drbriffa.com/2013/05/30/statins-deplete-the-body-of-a-nutrient-that-is-vital-for-heart-function/ 4. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2017/03/18/south-american-tribe-found-have-healthiest-hearts-ever-studied/ 5. http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2011/07/22/one-in-four-americans-over-45-take-this-common-drug-that-causes-diabetes.aspx 6. http://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/high-blood-cholesterol/in-depth/trans-fat/art-20046114 7. http://www.who.int/tobacco/quitting/benefits/en/ 8. https://www.alzheimers.org.uk/info/20007/types_of_dementia/14/alcohol-related_brain_damage_including_korsakoffs_syndrome 9. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2017/03/18/south-american-tribe-found-have-healthiest-hearts-ever-studied/ 10. http://eruditelifestyle.co.uk/real-reason-statins-may-cause-side-effects-help-avoid Disclaimer - Supplements are not magic pills. What are the side effects of Cholesterol lowering medication? - Dr. Sreekanth Shetty

02:22
Cholesterol causes blockages in the heart arteries and brain arteries leading to stroke and heart attacks.Since Statins introduced as cholesterol lowering drugs ,they played major role in not only reducing cholesterol levels but also in reducing heart attacks and strokes. Some individuals may develop side effects with this drugs. If they are under weight and or they have chronic kidney disease and elderly people. Fortunately these side effects are very mild and reversible like fatigue and muscle aches.Slightly uncommon side effects are elevation of liver and muscle enzymes. And very rarely these can cause muscle break downs. These have tendency to induce diabetes. This would happen in people who already have tendency to get diabetes.
Statin Side Effects

Statin medication can have side effects. Some of these side effects can be less or more serious than others. Learn more about statin side effects in this video. Transcript Every medication comes with side effects and it's important to know what those side effects are. For the statin class of medications, there are a few you should know. The most common side effects of statins are muscle pain, or cramping, or weakness. Occasionally, these muscle symptoms can be more serious and can include damage to the muscle itself. Another side effect of statins is damage to the liver, and some patients may develop alterations or changes in their liver enzymes. In addition to the muscle and liver changes that can occur, statins can also cause some stomach upset, nausea, constipation, vomiting or diarrhea. Finally, the FDA has issued warnings on statins that, although rare, there is a risk of development of type II diabetes as well as a risk for memory changes and confusion. Overall, as a class, the side effects of statins is very low, but it's important to know what they are so you can recognize if you're having any of these side effects and speak to your doctor about them. If you do have these side effects on one type of statin, your doctor can usually safely switch you to another one, and try that one out before giving up on statin medicine class completely. An all natural alternative to statin drugs. ►►http://drsam.co/yt/NaturalAlternative My favorite, scientifically proven solution for quickly boosting your testosterone levels, increasing your sex drive and reversing erectile dysfunction, naturally. ►►http://drsam.co/yt/EDRemedy =============================== A few months ago I started taking a statin drug to lower my cholesterol. However, I’ve noticed I started having erectile problems. Things don’t seem to work as well. In fact, I’m just not in the “mood” or have the drive for sex like I used to. Do you think the statin drug is the cause? =============================== #erectiledysfunction Links for the refferences: 1. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4023379/ 2. http://www.webmd.com/erectile-dysfunction/news/20100416/statins_may_lower_testosterone_libido Hi Daniel. To answer your question - YES! In fact, it’s been clinically shown that statin cholesterol lowering drugs do in fact, cause erection problems and impotence.1 And this is because statin drugs lower cholesterol by blocking the enzyme (HMG-CoA reductase) in your liver, that is responsible for making cholesterol. Unfortunately, cholesterol is required to make your “sex hormones” in both men and women, such as testosterone, estrogens, etc. And these hormones, especially testosterone, is required for your sex drive, libido, erections and an orgasm. In fact, in addition to erectile problems, both men and women taking statin drugs, report having difficulty reaching an orgasm.2 Another common side-effect with statin drugs is depression. And let’s be honest, when you’re not feeling happy or excited, then you’re not feeling “sexual” and you just don’t care or have the DESIRE to have sex, right?... One thing I’d like to point out on the OPPOSITE side of this story and that’s having very high cholesterol can ALSO cause erectile dysfunction. This is because of plaque build-up in your arteries, leading to poor blood flow and circulation. So your goal is to have healthy cholesterol levels - not too high or low. You want to do it naturally, without the use of drugs such as statins. The truth is, 98% of people do NOT need statin drugs to lower cholesterol. I know this because I dealt with this problem back in 1998 with both my parents. You can easily do it naturally. A healthy diet, regular exercise program and more importantly, the specific use of clinically proven herbs can dramatically lower your cholesterol naturally, while ALSO improving your sex drive and libido. Statin Drugs Side Effects and CoQ10 (Ubiquinol)

Try Nutrusta Ubiquinol Ultra, a fat and water soluble CoQ10 with SIX times better absorption than regular QH. 👉https://www.nutrusta.com/products/ubiquinol-coq10 Subscribe for weekly videos: https://www.youtube.com/nutrusta?sub_confirmation=1 Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Ubiquinol-CoQ10-VESIsorb-Kaneka-100mg/dp/B00KB2XSG0/ Are you taking statins? Statin medications are one of the most commonly prescribed drugs. Used to lower high cholesterol levels, they can literally save your life. You may know statins by these names: Lipitor, Crestor, Zocor Statins work by inhibiting LDL production in the liver and promoting the removal of LDL cholesterol from the bloodstream. This prevents and helps reduce plaque buildup in your blood vessels. If you or someone you know takes a statin, then you’re probably well aware of the side effects associated with this medication. Nausea, diarrhea, joint and muscle pains are some of the more common complaints. Statin medications also increase the risk of hyperglycemia and type 2 diabetes across the board. In more severe cases, the medication can cause liver or kidney damage. In rare instances, statins can cause a life threatening condition called rhabdomyolysis. This is where your muscle cells collapse and release poison into the bloodstream. So, is there anything you can do to alleviate these side effects? Turns out, you can, and the solution is fairly simple: Coenzyme Q10 supplementation. Coenzyme Q10, or CoQ10 for short, is a naturally occurring enzyme found in every cell of your body. It helps keep your heart healthy, boosts mental clarity, and provides protection against free radicals, among other things. Low CoQ10 levels are also associated with memory loss and Alzheimer’s disease. CoQ10 levels naturally decrease as we age, contributing to the aches and pains we associate with growing older. However, Coq10 is insoluble in water, has limited solubility in lipids, and is a pretty large molecule. Because of its molecular structure, CoQ10 has notoriously poor absorption. When ingested as a supplement, as much as 60% of the dose will just bounce off the intestinal walls and end up in the toilet. THE NUTRUSTA SOLUTION Nutrusta Ubiquinol Ultra is a water-soluble formulation that combines the active, "body-ready" form of CoQ10 and the novel VESIsorb® micelle-based delivery system. VESIsorb® is proven to ensure 6 times better absorption and 3-fold increase in bioavailability for maximum and sustained therapeutic levels of CoQ10 that help reduce the side effects of statins. Muscle Pain from Statins – Common Questions Answered Part 1

03:48
If you have had side effects from statin medications, you are not alone. Although about 90% of people take statins with no problems, there are a lot of people who have had side effects because statins are so frequently prescribed. Far and away the most frequent side effect of statins is muscle pain. Typically, the pain is “all over” and not isolated to a specific body part. It can be challenging to determine if the muscle pain is caused by the statin as muscle aches are a common complaint for most of us, whether we are on a statin or not. If you are trying to decide if taking a statin would be right you, download my FREE guide “Should you Take a Statin?” https://toddhurstmd.lpages.co/shoulditakeastatin/ Subscribe button https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gc2ZiuPl8To JOIN – Our healthy community at www.toddhurstmd.com TALK TO ME: Facebook https://www.facebook.com/toddhurstmd/ Twitter https://twitter.com/drtoddhurst Pinterest https://www.pinterest.com/toddhurstmd/ Instagram https://www.instagram.com/toddhurstmd/ LinkedIn https://www.linkedin.com/in/r-todd-hurst-a832b417/ www.youtube.com/RToddHurstMD

Statins Mechanism Of Action *Animated*

03:47
STATINS ARE A GROUP OF MEDICATIONS THAT REDUCE CHOLESTEROL LEVELS, THEY WERE DISCOVERED BY AKIRA ENDO IN 1971 A JAPANESE BIOCHEMIST. THERE ARE SEVERAL STATINS IN THE MARKET CURRENTLY WHICH ARE EASY TO REMEMBER BECAUSE THEY ALL END WITH THE SUFFIX STATIN. CHOLESTEROL IS PRODUCED BY THE LIVER AND TRANSPORTED BY LIPOPROTEINS WHICH CONSIST OF TWO TYPES, LOW DENSITY LIPOPROTEIN LDL WHICH IS KNOWN AS THE BAD FAT, IT'S MAIN FUNCTION IS TO TRANSPORT CHOLESTEROL THROUGHOUT THE BODY, THE OTHER TYPE IS HIGH DENSITY LIPOPROTEIN ALSO KNOWN AS GOOD FAT, THIS TYPE OF LIPOPROTEIN REMOVES EXCESS CHOLESTEROL AND CARRIES IT BACK TO THE LIVER FOR DEGRADATION. HOW DOES IT WORK? STATINS WORK BY COMPETITIVELY INHIBIT HMG COENZYME A REDUCTASE THIS ENZYME CATALYZES THE REDUCTION OF HMG COENZYME TO MEVALONATE. WHICH IS THE RATE LIMITING STEP IN HEPATIC CHOLESTEROL BIOSYNTHESIS, INHIBITION OF THIS ENZYME DECREASES CHOLESTEROL SYNTHESIS LEADING TO AN UPREGULATION IN LDL RECEPTORS IN THE LIVER, THIS INCREASES LDL UPTAKE BY THE HEPATOCYTS DECREASING THE AMOUNT OF LDL CHOLESTEROL IN THE BLOOD. WHO SHOULD STATINS BE GIVEN FOR? ACCORDING TO THE AMERICAN COLLEGE OF CARDIOLOGY, STATINS ARE GIVEN AS A PREVENTION OF CARDIOVASCULAR DISEASE IN PATIENTS WITH LDL CHOLESTEROL MORE THAN 190 MG/DL. ON AVERAGE STATINS CAN LOWER BLOOD LDL BY 70 MG/DL WHICH TRANSLATES INTO AN ESTIMATED 60% DECREASE IN THE NUMBER OF CARDIAC EVENTS LIKE HEART ATTACKS OR SUDDEN CARDIAC DEATHS. CONTRAINDICATIONS OF STATINS, BEING DRUGS THAT ARE METABOLISED AND EXCRETED BY THE LIVER, STATINS ARE CONTRAINDICATED IN CASES OF CHRONIC LIVER DISEASE, OR ELEVATION OF SERUM TRANSAMINASES. STATINS ARE ALSO NOT GIVEN IN PREGNANCY OR LACTATION AS THEY IN CATEGORY X. LIFESTYLE MODIFICATION IS STRONGLY ADVISED TO PATIENTS ON STATINS THESE MODIFICATIONS INCLUDE, LESS CALORIC INTAKE, LOW ANIMAL FAT DIET, AND PHYSICAL EXCERCISE. MONITORING CREATINE KINASE IS IMPORTANT IN PATIENTS TAKING STATIN AS MYOPATHY IS ONE OF THE MOST COMMON AND DANGEROUS ADVERSE EFFECT OF THIS CLASS OF MEDICATIONS

💊 Natural & Clinically Proven Alternatives To Lipitor

08:44
Watch the natural alternative to lower your cholesterol by 30 pts in 30 days - no diets or drugs. 👉http://drsam.co/yt/Natural-Lipitor Or discover the most powerful fruit to lower high cholesterol: 👉https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TYFY4Vl19Fo =============================================== 💊 Natural & Clinically Proven Alternatives To Lipitor =============================================== #cholesterol #statins Before I reveal clinically proven, natural alternatives to Lipitor, a cholesterol lowering drug and why you MUST get off this or any statin drug, I’d like to share a true story. Dr. Duane Graveline (M.D., M.P.H) is a physician, a flight surgeon and former astronaut. One year NASA was doing a yearly physical on him. He passed all the tests (physical, cognitive, etc.). Yet, they noticed his cholesterol was in the “high” range and told him to take Lipitor (atorvastatin) - a cholesterol lowering statin drug. Six weeks later, he had severe memory problems, so bad that he had short term, global amnesia (TGA). Additionally, when NASA retested him, his cholesterol was lower and he passed that test … yet he failed the cognitive test and he wasn’t allowed to go to space. Dr. Graveline decided to get off Lipitor, despite the fact other physicians, doctors and pharmacists said it couldn’t be Lipitor causing these problems. A year later, when it was his next annual NASA physical, they again told him to take Lipitor, but this time at half the dosage. So, Dr. Graveline reluctantly followed their recommendation. This second time, the results were even worse - amnesia PLUS “retrograde loss of memory” going back to his high school years. Yes, his memory loss was even more severe. He again stopped taking Lipitor and wrote about this situation in a book called, “Lipitor Thief of Memory” which was written in 2005. Which also includes liver damage, high blood pressure, arthritis, elevated blood sugar levels, diabetes, hormonal imbalances, muscle loss and lowered sex drive and impotence, to name a few. Add to the fact that my dad’s mom (my grandmother) had Alzheimer’s, I didn’t want to risk it and got my dad off of Lipitor … against his doctor’s orders. Instead, I decided to research, natural, safe and healthy ingredients and alternatives for having healthy cholesterol levels. And that’s what I’m going to reveal today. Natural Alternatives So let’s get right to it, I’ll make this quick. First, your goal is NOT to have “low” cholesterol, you want HEALTHY cholesterol levels. Now, one of my favorite natural ingredients to help improve cholesterol levels is called, Red Yeast Rice, which is a common food in Asia. In fact, this is a natural statin. However, the “secret” to using Red Yeast Rice is you only want to use it in small doses. Plus, you must use the “extract” form, not the “root” or “powder” form which is worthless. And finally, you want to make sure that the “toxic” by-product, Citrinin is removed. Any other form either won’t work or you’ll need such a high dose that you’ll have statin side-effects - obviously, no where near as bad as Lipitor. Again, keep in mind that if you ONLY use Red Yeast Rice to improve your cholesterol levels, you’ll need to use a high dosage, which will eventually lead to some of the same, statin side-effects. THIS is the real secret to having healthy cholesterol levels, naturally - without drugs. Other Cholesterol Optimizing Herbs Other clinically proven, natural herbal extracts that promote healthy cholesterol levels and balanced lipid levels, which are: Artichoke Leaf Extract (15% Chlorogenic Acid, 5% Cynarin) Phytosterols Complex (40% extract from non-GMO pine tree extract) Garlic (Extract 5% alliin) Policosanol (from Sugar Cane - Saccharum species) Improve Your Thyroid Cleanse Your Liver Did you know that 80% of the cholesterol in your body is made by your liver, and NOT from the foods you eat? This is why many times, the change in your diet doesn’t make dramatic improvements in cholesterol levels. The irony is that ALL drugs, especially statins, cause liver damage and thus, will eventually increase your cholesterol levels and this is why you keep having to increase the dosage of these drugs. So make sure you try to eliminate anything that stresses your liver - this includes all drugs, including alcohol and caffeine. But, since this is almost impossible for most people, I suggest you take Milk Thistle (80% Extract) NAC (N-Acetyl L-Cysteine) - which also boost your immune system. R+ Alpha Lipoic Acid (r+ ALA) - which also helps lower your blood sugar. Reduce Homocysteine Levels ======================================== Subscribe to Dr.Sam Robbins's official Youtube channel http://drsam.co/yt/subscribe Like us on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/DrSamRobbins ========================================= Thanks DrSamRobbins

Yes and no is the answer. Statins deplete the body of magnesium, so if you replace that magnesium, then you won't have muscle fatigue issues. Sorry for the extra noise, need plug in a microphone.
