Did you know that you could almost be made of corn? Well…think about what you eat, and what you eat, eats. If you eat lots of corn fed beef, chicken, pork, some packaged foods, candy, or drink juices, soda and some other “healthy” alternatives to food, you might find traces of corn and corn products in your system, hence being made of corn!
This isn't a new thing or made up idea. In the documentary “King Corn”, Steve, Macko from the University of Virginia, did a little experiment called “Isotope analysis” on the hair of 2 young men whose diet consisted of foods such as: bread, cinnamon rolls, fries, meat and dairy products, and after running labs on the specimen, he concluded that the carbon in their bodies originates from corn! This is because, the food you eat, will eventually find its way into your hair. But what does that all mean and why is this such a bad thing?
It is not that corn is necessarily a bad thing, however it is what corn is used to be made in to, such as high fructose corn syrup, that is detrimental to your health. Another way that corn ends up in your food, is through the livestock that eat corn, such as beef, chicken and pork or the corn byproducts such as corn meal and the corn starch found in the cookie and pastry section.
Those 2 men whose hair was analyzed, decided to grow an acre of corn in Iowa, watching this video you will realize that the ground in which most corn grows on, uses ammonia fertilizer, which is mainly only used to yield a high produce - 4 times as much just to be exact.
Ammonia? Would you eat corn that has been grown in ammonia rich “soil”? You’ve got to realize food and what food should be must be grown in soil rich in living bacteria, so that the food you eat, has the most amount of nutrients for your health, growth and well being, otherwise you might as well eat shit and expect to be healthy!
Let’s discuss why you should give up corn:
GMO: In reality, about 86% of all corn in the U.S. are highly genetically modified to resist an herbicide, just so they can produce more food. Technically, corn is patterned as a pesticide. I honestly don’t know how to tell which corn is GMO or which isn’t, that’s why I avoid corn and corn products all in all. GMOs could increase your chance of chronic illness, but in the same token, corn products such as high fructose corn syrup have the ability to increase your chances of diabetes and obesity. Unfortunately we aren't really eating corn anymore, we are eating something that looks like corn! That’s the equivalent of dating robots and getting married to one. Not quiet the same thing, now is it!
Don’t eat something that’s sick: Now that we have learned about corn fed beef, you’re realizing that you're eating something that eats unhealthy! Cows are in the class of ruminants and are designed to digest grass, of course they will not die the day you introduce them to corn, however consuming corn will shorten their lives! The cattle industry uses corn, because it’s cheap, readily available at all times, and easy to fatten the cows up, so they look “juicy” to the consumer’s eyes. In reality, all the cows on a corn-based diet start to become unhealthy sooner or later, because this diet introduces them to a series of pathogens such as E. coli, due to a highly acidic environment within the intestinal tract. This is one reason giving up corn-fed meat is beneficial to your health, because when you eat something that’s sick, you'll become sick yourself, but even consuming grass-fed beef comes with its own health exposures, so it’s best to give up meat.
Can’t fully digest corn: Have you ever had corn and saw it ending up in your stool? Well one perfectly understandable explanation is that we are not chewing it well enough, but another explanation is that corn simply doesn't get digested by the stomach acid. This is partly due to the fibers found in cellulose which are primarily made of sugar molecules, and are chemically linked together, like that of starch. The only difference is that our stomach acid can break down starch (for most people), but can not do the same with Cellulose.
This is why I recommend a plant based diet like Veganism. By going vegan you will be healthier in a couple of different ways. When you stop eating meat, chicken and pork, you’re lowering your risk of chronic disease, because not only you're no longer consuming animal based products which has been proven to increase the chance of cancer, but you're also eating less corn! Now if you also stop consuming corn completely, you will have taken yet another step towards a healthier life, and this is why ALL our recipes are corn free and believe me 75+ corn free recipes are all delicious, nutritious and so easy to make.
