What Lotion Is Good To Use On Feet For A Person With Diabetes? Download Diabetes Management Book: http://bit.ly/2g0NDAH Hello, I'm Ty Mason from TheDiabetesCouncil.com, researcher, writer and I have type 2 diabetes. Today I'm going to answer the question, what foot lotion should I use. But before we get into that, make sure you download my free diabetes management book which also includes a diabetes grocery shopping guide (foods to eat and avoid). For a person with diabetes, taking care of your feet is of utmost importance. It is vital to make foot care a part of your daily routine. Bresta Miranda-Palma, MD, a professor with the Diabetes Research Institute at the University of Miami Medical School says, “About 85% of amputations can be prevented if the patient gets a wound treated in time.” You should check your feet daily and check for new cuts and scrapes. We have more on this in our video, “Foot Care and Diabetes” Part of foot care is making sure your feet are hydrated. Rough, dry skin can crack and cause major problems. A good moisturizing lotion can be as important as your prescription medication in keeping your diabetes in check. A quick note, when putting lotion on your feet, it is vitally important that you do NOT put lotion between your toes. This can cause can moisture that can lead to fungus growth. So what lotion should you use? I have tried many lotions or foot creams and I will give you what I feel are the best. But lotions and creams are like just about anything else, they work for some better than others. You need to choose the lotion that is best for you. I am just giving you my suggestions. Eucerin (http://amzn.to/2gSCpku) – Most any Eucerin product is good for the feet. They do make a “Foot Repair Cream” that is very good. Gold Bond (http://amzn.to/2gSCULD) – Now before you dismiss Gold Bond because of the scent of their powder, they have a new fresh scent for their lotions. Gold Bond makes a great product called Gold Bond Ultimate Foot. It contains 7 moisturizers and does a great job keeping your feet hydrated. O’Keeffe’s (http://amzn.to/2gRQqkg) – O’Keeffe’s makes an excellent product called “For Healthy Feet.” It uses a high concentration of glycerin to maintain healthy moisture. AmLactin (http://amzn.to/2hrLnWv) —Of all I have tried, this is the best for me. It has no odor, it doesn’t leave my feet greasy and really keeps my feet soft. I hope this answered your question what foot lotion should I use. Don’t forget to get your diabetes management book. Let me know if you have any other diabetes related questions.

SPORT vs DIET for slimming which is more effective

SPORT vs DIET for slimming which is more effective: http://youtu.be/8RXHZ8eQof8 What do you think? Don't forget to share & Subscribe. 00:00 Which is More Effective, Sports or Diet? 00:01 If long term slim body is what you are looking for, 00:02 then start restricting your calorie intake. 00:03 According to Donald Hensrud, MD, of the Mayo Clinic, 00:04 reducing calorie intake is more effective in combating obesity 00:05 than increasing the frequency of exercise. 00:06 The key to avoid obesity is burning more calories more than calories we consumed. 00:07 According to Hensrud, 3500 calories equals 1 pound (0.45 kg) of fat. 00:08 So, if you want to shed 1 pound per week, 00:09 that means you have to reduce 500 calories from the daily diet (500 calories x 7 days). 00:10 Even so, it does not mean that we should neglect sport at all, 00:11 because doing diet desperately without physical activity will not produce optimal results. 00:12 "With exercise, excess fat that can not be reduce from diet can be burned," said Hensrund. 00:13 In addition, regular exercise will also create a more stable body weight and fitter body. 00:14 Body work that we do will also nourish our heart, blood circulation, and improve our mood. 00:15 Recent studies also cite that more physical activities will suppress our appetite. 00:16 Research shows that people who exercise regularly will have a more stable weight. 00:17 Meanwhile those who rely on diet only, may indeed lose weight drastically, 00:18 however after stopping the diet, the body fat will be produced again. easy health tips 10 Foods to Lower Blood Sugar Level (Diabetes) Naturally https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2isLd40SCGQ Finally Revealed!!! New Mayo Clinic Approach Could Lead to Blood Test to Diagnose Alzheimer's in Earliest Stage

03:39
Blood offers promise as a way to detect Alzheimer's disease at its earliest onset, Mayo Clinic researchers say. They envision a test that would detect distinct metabolic signatures in blood plasma that are synonymous with the disease — years before patients begin showing cognitive decline. Their study was recently published online in the journal PLOS ONE. Researchers analyzed cerebrospinal fluid and plasma samples from 45 people in the Mayo Clinic Study on Aging and Mayo Clinic Alzheimer's Disease Center (15 with no cognitive decline, 15 with mild cognitive impairment and 15 with Alzheimer's disease). They detected significant changes in the cerebrospinal fluid and plasma in those with cognitive decline and Alzheimer's. Most important, changes in plasma accurately reflected changes in the cerebrospinal fluid, validating blood as a reliable source for the biomarker development.

Dietary Fats and Their Recommended Intake

04:43
Take our free online course on food & heath on Coursera: https://www.coursera.org/learn/food-and-health Transcript: For decades, the relationship between dietary fats and health was at the center of our attempts to understand the underlying cause of our obesity epidemic. Michael Pollan: The debates over nutrition that you will hear, should we worry about fats, should we worry about carbohydrates, is the problem lack of fiber? All these are attempts to understand what's the problem in the Western diet that is the culprit. Despite the important roles that fats play in our bodies, this entire category of macronutrient, was shunned for much of the 20th century. This led to an enormous increase in the availability of fat free and reduced fat foods, but despite this, obesity rates continued to rise. Today, rising awareness about the difference between what some people call “good fats” and “bad fats” have allowed this important part of our food supply to make a comeback, but once again, the pendulum threatens to swing too far in the opposite direction. Dietary fats can be divided into two families: the saturated and the unsaturated fats. Saturated fats get their name from the fact that their fatty acids are saturated with hydrogen molecules. This means that they can lie flat and pack together densely, so that saturated fats tend to be solids at room temperature. Animal fats like lard and butter are good examples. In contrast, the fatty acids that make up unsaturated fats are kinked in places where double bonds between the carbon atoms cause the chains to be less saturated with hydrogen. This also means that these fatty acids don’t pack together as tightly, leaving most unsaturated fats in the liquid state at room temperature. But unsaturated fats can be naturally occurring, like the fats found in olive oil, nuts and avocados… or they can be man-made, (or chemically manipulated) to become unsaturated. These are the fats found in some margarines and in the kinds of oils that are often used for repeated cooling and re-heating in deep frying machines – like the ones used in many fast food restaurants. The problem with chemically engineered unsaturated fats is that the chemical bonds between the carbon atoms are less stable, so they easily flip into a trans orientation rather than a cis orientation – and this is where we get the name trans fats. Trans fats are problematic for our health because they increase the amount of LDL cholesterol in the blood and by doing this, they promote the formation of arterial plaques. At the same time, trans fats reduce the amount of HDL, the protective form of cholesterol, in our blood and the result is a greatly increased risk of atherosclerosis and heart disease. While saturated fats have also been shown to contribute to increases in LDL cholesterol, they haven’t been shown to lower HDL cholesterol or to contribute to the development of arterial plaques as significantly as trans fats. Probably the most sensible food recommendation that results from the accumulated scientific studies of dietary fats is this: Enjoy reasonable amounts of foods that contain mostly naturally occurring unsaturated fats, like those found in olive oil, nuts and avocados. Avoid all foods containing trans fats, and limit your intake of foods, like red meats, that are high in saturated fats. Carbohydrates, Proteins, and Hidden Fats

10:40
http://www.healthtube.net46.net Recent TV news showed that various food brands are offering low carbohydrate foods due to public demand. That just shows how poorly informed the public can be. The Mayo Clinic (http://www.mayoclinic.com/) tells us that "Every day your body requires certain nutrients, such as carbohydrates, fats and protein, to function properly. Too much of one nutrient or not enough of another can influence your health." Encyclopedia Britannica (http://www.britannica.com) tells how carbohydrates can be classified, but they are all described as molecules of Carbon, Hydrogen, and Oxygen. "Carbohydrates are the most abundant molecules in all biology." Carbohydrates and oils are the means that plants store energy. Few plant fats are saturated. Fats are also compounds of Carbon, Hydrogen, and Oxygen, but in more complex structures than carbohydrates. The more structural bonds, the less liquid is the fat at room temperature. Such liquid fats are called oils. Hydrogenating oils creates more hydrogen bonds to make liquids into soft or hard fats. These trans-fats are bad for cardiovascular health. The "essential fatty acids" are the ones that the human body cannot create from other foods, such as proteins. Proteins have many structures, but are mostly composed of Carbon, Hydrogen, Oxygen plus Nitrogen. The essential amino acids are those proteins which the human body cannot create from other foods. Of course, foods also contain essential vitamins and minerals. Supplements of these can be beneficial, if not overdone. High / Low Carbohydrate / Protein diets really miss the target. Once minimal needs of each food type are met, the real issue is high or low calories compared to those used. If you eat more than your exercise can burn, you gain weight, and vice versa. Carbohydrates as sugars are fine as nature provides them, but not as refined and concentrated by humans. Like any source of calories, excess consumption leads to body fat. The details will vary, but a five pound bag of fresh fruit contains fewer calories than a typical candy bar. Supposed high protein diets are often filled with hidden fats. For example, consider ground beef. Center for Science in the Public Interest, with reports on-line at www.cspinet.org, tells us "USDA allows ground beef labels to make claims that would be illegal on other foods." "Ground beef accounts for 45 percent of the beef sold in the U.S. and it adds more fat -- and more artery- clogging saturated fat -- to the average American's diet than any other single food." "The USDA allows no more than 10 percent fat by weight in most foods that are labeled 'lean.' But the USDA allows ground beef that is up to 22.5 percent fat to be called 'lean.'" Of course, that fat is "saturated". In contrast, protein from plants, such as grains and legumes, has much less fat than ground beef and none of it is saturated. Tempeh, an Asian food made from whole soy beans with careful fermentation, has more protein than an equal amount (volume or weight) of ground beef, and also contains all the essential amino acids. So try this for healthy diet rules. Eat all the vegetables and fruits you can stand, but without sauces, dressings, added sugar, butter, margarine, or cheese. The same applies to grain foods, such as whole grain breads and pastas. Get at least some of your proteins from plant sources. Avoid all foods fried in fat or oil. I lost weight and one third of my blood cholesterol by reducing my beef and pork consumption, increasing my use of broiled and baked fish and chicken, and learning about soy foods that are now available in North America. Even Ph.D. scientists can mis-lead themselves with wishful thinking. A former colleague of mine was often heard to describe his high protein, low carb diet in terms of complex biochemical theories, yet he was always at least 100 pounds overweight. He also ate and drank about three times as much as I did at shared meals. Get Real! ** Diet with FACTS, not MYTHS. **

Introduction to Organic Sulfur

12:12
Learn more about Organic Sulfur and see our amazing reviews at http://happybodystore.com/msm-organic-sulfur-crystals-1-pack/ Does your body feel way older than it actually is? Are tasks that used to be simple becoming a challenge? You’re lacking energy, suffering from pain, and struggling to remember the last time you felt healthy. You’re beginning to watch so many of the people around you struggling with the same problems. The numbers support what you’re seeing: over the past 50 years diseases and debilitating conditions have skyrocketed faster than at any other time in human history. Cancer now affects 1 in every 3 Americans, 40% more than in 1960 and an amazing 300% more than in 1910. Arthritis and body pain disorders now affect 1 in every 5 Americans, double what it was just 30 years ago. It’s the same story for diabetes, heart disease, liver disease, and chronic pain issues. Even problems like allergies and baldness are skyrocketing! Looking at all the pain and suffering, it’s hard to believe it always used to be this way. Something must have changed, previous generations didn’t have to deal with chronic issues and diseases from age 35 and up. There is a reason for all of this. One critical nutrient that is almost entirely gone from the food we eat is a cornerstone of good health: Sulfur. Not the smelly yellow sulfur that is dug out of mines, but Organic Sulfur, also known as MSM or Methyl Sulfonal Methane. This type of sulfur makes up 25% of your body and is the key to the proper production of 146 different critical compounds. Muscles, joints, liver, heart, hair, and skin all need sulfur for their continued healthy operation. Sulfur is the base for all muscle proteins and amino acids, and without sulfur our muscles can’t repair themselves from everyday use. This causes chronic back, neck, and body pain. Sulfur also allows your body to create collagen: the base for joint and cartilage repair and regeneration. Sulfur is one of the only nutrients that can penetrate cell walls, rejuvenating you at the cellular level. It pumps oxygen into, and removes toxins and heavy metals out of, your cells. Sulfur is also known as the beauty mineral because thick lush hair and tight soft skin are dependent on it. Collagen (skin tightness) & keratin (hair) production need sulfur bonds. Nearly all of the Happy Body Store's clients report feeling healthier within weeks of trying Organic Sulfur. We're so confident in this product that we have a 100% Satisfaction Guarantee and completely free shipping. Try Organic Sulfur today and see what it can do for yourself!

Mild Cognitive Impairment - Ten Years Later

04:09
Ten years ago, Mayo Clinic investigators published a seminal paper on mild cognitive impairment (MCI). Since then, thousands of papers have appeared in the medical literature focusing on this early stage of cognitive disorders. According to Mayo Clinic scientists, understanding MCI plays a critical role in the efforts to identify the earliest markers of Alzheimers disease and develop therapies to stop or slow its progression. Recently, Mayo Clinic investigators authored a review paper in the Archives of Neurology summarizing both the progress that has been made in the field of MCI and the challenges that remain. Ronald Petersen, M.D., Ph.D., is a neurologist and director of the Mayo Clinic Alzheimers Disease Research Center.

What are these Dietary Fibers? Dietary Fiber refers to those parts of food, vegetable and grains that are resistant to digestive secretions of the stomach. These parts cannot be broken down in the digestive tract and are considered as "Un - available carbo - hydrates". Simply said, Fiber is the indigestible part of food. Dietary fibers are heterogeneous in nature and consist of several complex polysaccharides such as pectin, cellulose, hemi cellulose, gums, lignin, and mucilage and so on. Fiber is a tough complex carbo - hydrate. Its digestible parts provide some calories: the indigestible part absorbs water, making the stools bulky. This bulk helps intestine move feces easily along. This relieves constipation. There are two kinds of fiber; depending upon their solubility in water 1. The Soluble fiber that dissolves in liquid and becomes like gel in water. It is found in oat bran, oat meal, beans, peas, rice bran, barley, citrus fruits, straw berries and Apple pulp. This helps lower high cholesterol level. 2. The Insoluble fiber or 'roughage'. That does not dissolve in liquids. It is found in most grains, fruits and vegetables such as apple skin, cabbage, beetroot, carrots and cauliflower. Insoluble fiber helps digestive function. Dietary Fiber Benefits 1. Inclusion of dietary fibers in diet reduces the incidence of cancer. 2. Soluble fiber helps lower high cholesterol levels. It may decrease or stabilize high blood sugar levels and increase insulin levels. 3. Fiber absorbs water, making the feces bulky and easier to pass and thus relieves constipation. 4. Fiber rich foods are helpful in other intestinal disorders like Irritable bowel syndrome, diverticulitis and by reducing incidence of cancer of the colon. 5. Fiber foods give a sense of fullness after eating - food for obese people. 6. Insoluble fibers help digestive functions.

There's No Such Thing As An Unregulated Market

We all want the safety and dependable quality that “regulation” is supposed to provide. Government can provide it to some extent, but markets can do it better, if we let them. Mayo Collaborative Services v. Prometheus Laboratories, Inc.: Oral Argument - December 07, 2011

01:01:39
Facts: Prometheus Laboratories Inc. patented steps of testing for proper dosages of drug treatments used to treat gastrointestinal diseases like Crohn's disease, and sued the Mayo Clinic when it attempted to use its own, similar test. A federal judge invalidated the patents, holding that the patent couldn't cover the body's reaction to drugs. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, which specializes in patent issues, overturned the lower court order. Question: Can certain types of diagnostic medical tests can be patented? Conclusion: No. In a 9-0 decision, Justice Stephen J. Breyer wrote a unanimous opinion reversing the lower court and holding that the processes involved in this test are unpatentable laws of nature. The success of a patent application cannot rely on the art of the drafter. The "steps" Promethus added to their application are merely instructions to apply the laws of nature. Past Supreme Court decisions also support the concern that allowing patents on laws of nature would unnecessarily inhibit further discovery.
