What Lotion Is Good To Use On Feet For A Diabetic Person?

What Lotion Is Good To Use On Feet For A Person With Diabetes? Download Diabetes Management Book: http://bit.ly/2g0NDAH Hello, I'm Ty Mason from TheDiabetesCouncil.com, researcher, writer and I have type 2 diabetes. Today I'm going to answer the question, what foot lotion should I use. But before we get into that, make sure you download my free diabetes management book which also includes a diabetes grocery shopping guide (foods to eat and avoid). For a person with diabetes, taking care of your feet is of utmost importance. It is vital to make foot care a part of your daily routine. Bresta Miranda-Palma, MD, a professor with the Diabetes Research Institute at the University of Miami Medical School says, “About 85% of amputations can be prevented if the patient gets a wound treated in time.” You should check your feet daily and check for new cuts and scrapes. We have more on this in our video, “Foot Care and Diabetes” Part of foot care is making sure your feet are hydrated. Rough, dry skin can crack and cause major problems. A good moisturizing lotion can be as important as your prescription medication in keeping your diabetes in check. A quick note, when putting lotion on your feet, it is vitally important that you do NOT put lotion between your toes. This can cause can moisture that can lead to fungus growth. So what lotion should you use? I have tried many lotions or foot creams and I will give you what I feel are the best. But lotions and creams are like just about anything else, they work for some better than others. You need to choose the lotion that is best for you. I am just giving you my suggestions. Eucerin (http://amzn.to/2gSCpku) – Most any Eucerin product is good for the feet. They do make a “Foot Repair Cream” that is very good. Gold Bond (http://amzn.to/2gSCULD) – Now before you dismiss Gold Bond because of the scent of their powder, they have a new fresh scent for their lotions. Gold Bond makes a great product called Gold Bond Ultimate Foot. It contains 7 moisturizers and does a great job keeping your feet hydrated. O’Keeffe’s (http://amzn.to/2gRQqkg) – O’Keeffe’s makes an excellent product called “For Healthy Feet.” It uses a high concentration of glycerin to maintain healthy moisture. AmLactin (http://amzn.to/2hrLnWv) —Of all I have tried, this is the best for me. It has no odor, it doesn’t leave my feet greasy and really keeps my feet soft. I hope this answered your question what foot lotion should I use. Don’t forget to get your diabetes management book. Let me know if you have any other diabetes related questions.

Women Face Additional Stroke Risks

01:53
Every year in the U.S. more than three-quarters of a million people suffer a stroke. Jennifer Lin never thought she'd be one of them. "My stroke happened in 2006 around September -- I was 36 years old." A health professional herself, Lin failed to get her head around what was happening. "I felt a little tingling in my left hand and I went to work and I was like 'something is not right'". It took six hours to finally make it the hospital and get a diagnosis. Lin was a text-book case, only she didn't know it. "I had a past medical history of hypertension. I was taking birth control pills," Lin says. Sixty percent of all stroke-related deaths occur in women. While men and women share many of the same risk factors, others are gender-specific. So a new set of guidelines are being introduced that focus on females. "The recent guidelines that the American Heart Association put out, it's really targeting the younger women," says Dr. Wendy Bond, a neurologist on medical staff with Lee Memorial Health System. Dr. Bond is Lin's doctor. She's also worked with a handful of young, female stroke victims. Several of these newly released risk factors are dangerous when combined with high blood pressure. "They want you to make sure that you monitor your blood pressure before going on the birth control pill and to stop smoking," Dr. Bond says. Frequent migraines with auras and aspects of pregnancy round out the list. "Pregnancy is a big one especially your blood pressure during your pregnancy. And if your blood pressure goes up high enough and you spill protein into your urine you can get preeclampsia and that is a huge risk factor for stroke down the road". Jennifer lived to talk about it. She fears other women may be naive and miss the message. "Until a patient comes along like me, then they wake up," Lin says. Saturated and unsaturated fats: ये चक्कर क्या है? (Hindi 2018)

04:12
We consume various foods which are rich in saturated fats every day, without every realising if they are good or bad for our health. If we can take some care in choosing our foods wisely, we can avoid problems like obesity, diabetes, blood pressure, heart disease and stroke. Saturated fats and unsaturated fats are commonly found in foods we consume. Most studies suggest that both of these types are not the same. While one (Saturated) type of fat is harmful for our health, the other type may harm us but actually be beneficial for good health. Experts suggest that in our daily calory intake, the proportion of calories received from saturated fats should only be between 25-35 per cent. An important thing to consider is that we still need some amount of saturated fats in our food as completely ruling these out is not a guarantee for good health. So what is this riddle? We try to solve the mystery in this Hindi video. Saturated fats have no double bonds in their chemical structure. They are “saturated” with hydrogen atoms. Because of their chemical structure, they have a solid consistency at room temperature. Here are the sources in which saturated fats are mostly found: - Most animal meat including beef, poultry, pork - Some plant oils such as palm kernel or coconut oil - Most dairy products including cheese, butter, and milk - Packaged snacks including buscuits, chips, cookies, and pastries Please do like the video and subscribe our channel for more such useful videos.

New Mayo Clinic Approach Could Lead to Blood Test to Diagnose Alzheimer's in Earliest Stage

03:39
Blood offers promise as a way to detect Alzheimer's disease at its earliest onset, Mayo Clinic researchers say. They envision a test that would detect distinct metabolic signatures in blood plasma that are synonymous with the disease — years before patients begin showing cognitive decline. Their study was recently published online in the journal PLOS ONE. Researchers analyzed cerebrospinal fluid and plasma samples from 45 people in the Mayo Clinic Study on Aging and Mayo Clinic Alzheimer's Disease Center (15 with no cognitive decline, 15 with mild cognitive impairment and 15 with Alzheimer's disease). They detected significant changes in the cerebrospinal fluid and plasma in those with cognitive decline and Alzheimer's. Most important, changes in plasma accurately reflected changes in the cerebrospinal fluid, validating blood as a reliable source for the biomarker development.

Mild Cognitive Impairment - Ten Years Later

04:09
Ten years ago, Mayo Clinic investigators published a seminal paper on mild cognitive impairment (MCI). Since then, thousands of papers have appeared in the medical literature focusing on this early stage of cognitive disorders. According to Mayo Clinic scientists, understanding MCI plays a critical role in the efforts to identify the earliest markers of Alzheimers disease and develop therapies to stop or slow its progression. Recently, Mayo Clinic investigators authored a review paper in the Archives of Neurology summarizing both the progress that has been made in the field of MCI and the challenges that remain. CBD + Diabetes | Josh's Review of CBD Capsules & Hemp Heat CBD Lotion for Relief

02:58
Introducing our latest reviewer Josh Maillet, an audio engineer, producer, and creative director with diabetes. He is a juggler of jobs and creativity, but the pain from diabetes can sometimes get in the way of life and work. With over 20 years as a diabetic, the nerve pain started in his feet 8 years ago. After months of online research, Josh found Green Lotus Hemp with links to research articles, news, and legislation. He uses the Hemp Heat Lotion and the #CBD oil capsules; the Hemp Heat Lotion really penetrates into his feet as he is on his feet all day. Josh uses the CBD capsules before bed to relieve pain so he can get to sleep. #Diabetes can affect every aspect of your life. Can some relief with the help of Green Lotus Hemp! Learn more here: https://goo.gl/P9wTcW My name is Josh Maillet; I am an audio engineer, producer, and creative director. I've been a type 1 diabetic for a little over 20 years now. I was first diagnosed in 1998. Over the course of being a diabetic, I have gotten some nerve pain in my feet maybe 8 years ago. Because of that, I was prescribed a medicine called Gabapentin which is a nerve pain. Ever since that happened to me, I really wanted to find a more herbal and natural way of relieving my nerve pain. I did some research online, looked through hundreds and hundreds of pages and I found out about CBD oil. So i went to try and find it the nearest place I could find it, and my friend tagged me in a video, a Green Lotus Hemp video actually online. I looked at their website, they have tons and tons of information, more than any other CBD oil that I had researched before. I decided to order both the cap gels and the Hemp Heat cream. The Hemp Heat to deeply penetrate into my feet. It's great for a long day of work when I am on my feet, running around. I take the cap gels (capsules) before I go to bed; it helps me sleep through the pain. Being a Type 1 diabetic, it really affects every aspect of your life. I wake up I am a diabetic, I go to sleep I am a diabetic. I try to be more than that, going through life being more than a diabetic, persevering through everything life throws at me. Music has been the number one thing that has helped me. Diabetes might be a part of my life, but with music, it has given me purpose. The fact that I can get up, be on my feet, go in the studio, write a piano part, play a drums part or a guitar part and are able to make something special like that is what gives me purpose.

Unsaturated vs Saturated vs Trans Fats, Animation

Always seek the advice of a qualified healthcare provider with any questions you may have regarding a medical condition. Contrary to popular belief, not all fats cause heart diseases and are bad. In fact, most fats, in adequate amounts, are required for normal bodily functions, especially brain functions. There are also good fats that actually decrease the risks for cardiovascular diseases. A fat molecule is composed of a glycerol head and three fatty acid tails, each of which is a long hydrocarbon chain - a carbon skeleton bound to hydrogen atoms. When all the carbons are fully bound to hydrogens, the fatty acid is said to be saturated - all the bonds between carbon atoms are single, and the hydrocarbon chain has a straight shape. A fat molecule made entirely of saturated fatty acids is a saturated fat. Due to their straight tails, saturated fats are compact and solid at room temperature. On the other hand, when the hydrocarbon chain has fewer hydrogens, it is said to be unsaturated. Instead of binding to a maximum number of hydrogens, some carbon atoms bind to each other via a double bond. The presence of double bonds may bend the hydrocarbon chain, creating gaps between molecules, making them less compact. As a result, unsaturated fats are usually liquid at room temperature. A fat molecule that contains only one double bond is a monounsaturated fat, while one that has multiple double bonds is polyunsaturated. Dietary fats provide fatty acids for the synthesis of the cell membrane - a vital component of all animal cells. The gaps in unsaturated fatty acids provide membrane fluidity, facilitating membrane transport and cellular signaling. While both types of fats are needed for an optimal composition of the cell membrane, too much saturated fat, which is commonly the case in a typical American diet, would make the membrane rigid and hinder cellular responsiveness. Membrane fluidity is most important in the nervous system, where neuronal response requires extremely fast cellular communication. A certain ratio of unsaturated to saturated fatty acids is also required for the formation of myelin – the insulating material that wraps around axons of neurons and speeds up the conduction of electrical signals. The body is capable of synthesizing all the fatty acids it needs, with the exception of polyunsaturated fatty acids omega-3 and omega-6, which must be obtained from the diet. These are known as essential fatty acids. In general, unsaturated fats are healthier than saturated fats. Unsaturated fats decrease the risks for heart disease by reducing the amount of bad cholesterol, LDL, and increasing the good cholesterol, HDL; while saturated fats increase both good and bad cholesterol. But not all unsaturated fats are equal. In fact, a type of unsaturated fat, known as trans-fat, is the unhealthiest of all! A double bond can give rise to 2 possible configurations: cis and trans. Cis is when the 2 hydrogen atoms are on the same side of the bond, while trans is when they are on the opposite sides. A cis double bond bends the fatty acid molecule, while the somewhat more symmetric trans configuration does not. A trans-fat is therefore similar in structure to a saturated fat. More importantly, trans-fats rarely occur in nature so the body does not have the necessary enzymes to break them down. Diets rich in trans-fats increase the bad cholesterol LDL and reduce the good cholesterol HDL, having the most detrimental effect on blood vessels. Trans-fats are found mainly in partially hydrogenated oil products, such as margarine. Because unsaturated fats are less stable and spoil faster, food manufacturers add hydrogens to make them more saturated through a process known as partial hydrogenation. This process not only prolongs shelf-life of vegetable oils, but also turns them into solid, or semi-solid products, which are preferred by commercial bakers for their low cost and wide range of different textures. Unfortunately, partial hydrogenation also converts some of the cis double bonds into trans configuration, producing trans-fats.

10 minutes before Jacob Zuma’s son ' Vusi ' was killed by Lupus Pictures

03:41
10 minutes before Jacob Zuma’s son ' Vusi ' was killed by Lupus - Pictures. Jacob Zuma’s son 'Vusi Nhlanakipho Zuma' was killed by a disease called Lupus On Tuesday, a family spokesperson confirmed that Jacob Zuma’s son Vusi had passed away from an onset of Lupus, aged just 25. Vusi is the youngest of five children Zuma had with deceased wife, Kate Mantsho. The news of his death has saddened everyone within political circles. The EFF immediately offered their condolences to the Zuma family, in a touching display of solidarity with the divisive former leader and his family. Cyril Ramaphosa also shared his sympathies earlier this week. Lupus isn’t a common disease, so we are having a look at the essential facts of the matter. Here’s everything you should know about the condition: What is Lupus? According to Mayo Clinic, Lupus is a disease that affects the autoimmune system. The body turns against itself, as a patient’s immune system begins attacking its own muscle tissue and vital organs. It is not a hereditary disease, and victims will pick the condition up naturally. Lupus causes inflammation to joints as well as hampering essential brain and heart functions. What are the symptoms of Lupus? Fatigue. Fever. Joint pain, stiffness and swelling. A butterfly-shaped rash on the face that covers the cheeks and bridge of the nose or rashes elsewhere on the body. Skin lesions that appear or worsen with sun exposure (photosensitivity). Fingers and toes that turn white or blue when exposed to cold or stress. Shortness of breath. Chest pain. Dry eyes. Headaches, confusion and memory loss. If you have a few of these symptoms combined, it would be worth a visit to your doctor. It may not be Lupus itself, though – and that’s what makes the condition so hard to diagnose. Many of the ailments listed are all common in flu-like illnesses. There’s no particular pattern to its development, either: You could get numerous symptoms in a short space of time, or the occasional one here and there. It really is difficult to identify. What is the mortality rate of Lupus? Between 80 – 90% of people with Lupus are expected to make a full recovery. However, that still leaves a range of 10 – 20% of people who lose their lives to it. For context, around 1 000 cases of Listeriosis have been identified in South Africa since January 2017, with more than 200 people succumbing to the bacterial infection. The mortality rate is as good as on par with that of Lupus. How is Lupus treated? If a patient’s symptoms are “mild”, a prescription of anti-inflammatories can tackle the disease. However, more severe cases require doses of corticosteroids and even chemotherapy once it reaches an advanced stage. Regular visits to the doctor and avoiding exposure to the sun are also recommended courses of action for those who contract this illness. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ►Mugabe: https://goo.gl/7eknBE ►Mnangagwa: https://goo.gl/Fv731w ►Chamisa: https://goo.gl/HtGeBg ► Hot news: https://goo.gl/J7mUhU ► ANC: https://goo.gl/x9xRAu ► Scandal: https://goo.gl/YGe8cw ► Zimbawe updates: https://goo.gl/2MJUjp .......................................................................................... Dietary Fats and Their Recommended Intake

04:43
Take our free online course on food & heath on Coursera: https://www.coursera.org/learn/food-and-health Transcript: For decades, the relationship between dietary fats and health was at the center of our attempts to understand the underlying cause of our obesity epidemic. Michael Pollan: The debates over nutrition that you will hear, should we worry about fats, should we worry about carbohydrates, is the problem lack of fiber? All these are attempts to understand what's the problem in the Western diet that is the culprit. Despite the important roles that fats play in our bodies, this entire category of macronutrient, was shunned for much of the 20th century. This led to an enormous increase in the availability of fat free and reduced fat foods, but despite this, obesity rates continued to rise. Today, rising awareness about the difference between what some people call “good fats” and “bad fats” have allowed this important part of our food supply to make a comeback, but once again, the pendulum threatens to swing too far in the opposite direction. Dietary fats can be divided into two families: the saturated and the unsaturated fats. Saturated fats get their name from the fact that their fatty acids are saturated with hydrogen molecules. This means that they can lie flat and pack together densely, so that saturated fats tend to be solids at room temperature. Animal fats like lard and butter are good examples. In contrast, the fatty acids that make up unsaturated fats are kinked in places where double bonds between the carbon atoms cause the chains to be less saturated with hydrogen. This also means that these fatty acids don’t pack together as tightly, leaving most unsaturated fats in the liquid state at room temperature. But unsaturated fats can be naturally occurring, like the fats found in olive oil, nuts and avocados… or they can be man-made, (or chemically manipulated) to become unsaturated. These are the fats found in some margarines and in the kinds of oils that are often used for repeated cooling and re-heating in deep frying machines – like the ones used in many fast food restaurants. The problem with chemically engineered unsaturated fats is that the chemical bonds between the carbon atoms are less stable, so they easily flip into a trans orientation rather than a cis orientation – and this is where we get the name trans fats. Trans fats are problematic for our health because they increase the amount of LDL cholesterol in the blood and by doing this, they promote the formation of arterial plaques. At the same time, trans fats reduce the amount of HDL, the protective form of cholesterol, in our blood and the result is a greatly increased risk of atherosclerosis and heart disease. While saturated fats have also been shown to contribute to increases in LDL cholesterol, they haven’t been shown to lower HDL cholesterol or to contribute to the development of arterial plaques as significantly as trans fats. Probably the most sensible food recommendation that results from the accumulated scientific studies of dietary fats is this: Enjoy reasonable amounts of foods that contain mostly naturally occurring unsaturated fats, like those found in olive oil, nuts and avocados. Avoid all foods containing trans fats, and limit your intake of foods, like red meats, that are high in saturated fats. Filmed at the Emerging Science of Carbohydrate Restriction and Nutritional Ketosis, Scientific Sessions at The Ohio State University Learn more at https://blog.virtahealth.com/category/science-research/ An impressive body of scientific evidence over the last 15 years documents long term benefits of carbohydrate-restricted, especially ketogenic, diets. We now understand molecular mechanisms and why they work. Popular books and articles now challenge the advice ‘carbohydrates are good and fats are bad.’ Circa mid-19th century urinary ketones were identified in diabetics sealing their toxic label for the next 150 years. Despite work four decades ago showing ketones were highly functional metabolites, they are still misidentified as toxic byproducts of fat metabolism. The vilification of fat by regulatory and popular dogma perpetuates this myth. But the nutrition-metabolic landscape is improving dramatically. A growing number of researchers have contributed to what is now a critical mass of science that provides compelling clinical evidence that ketogenic diets uniquely benefit weight loss, pre-diabetes, and type-2 diabetes. In the last five years, basic scientists have discovered that b-hydroxybutyrate (BHB), the primary circulating ketone, is a potent signaling molecule that decreases inflammation and oxidative stress. BHB has been suggested to be a longevity metabolite, with strong support from recently published mouse studies showing decreased midlife mortality and extended longevity and healthspan. Although type-2 diabetes is often described as a chronic progressive disease, emerging evidence indicates that sustained nutritional ketosis can reverses the disease. There is growing interest in studying potential therapeutic effects of ketosis on cardiovascular diseases, cancer, and neurodegenerative diseases including Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s. There are even reasons certain athletes may benefit from nutritional ketosis and ketone supplements ─ debunking the long-standing dogma that high carbohydrate intake is required to perform optimally. With the support of the well-established Ohio State Food Innovation Center, this conference will bring together the top experts in these fields to share what has been achieved and what remains to be done to advance this exciting field of scientific discovery.

Donating Your Body to Science

02:16
Since the earliest days of medicine, the complex study of human anatomy has been an integral part of health science training and research. For more than 60 years, the UCSF Willed Body Program has overseen the donation of bodies for medical education and research. Andrew Corson, director of the UCSF Willed Body Program, talks about the program, which is the largest such program in the state, receiving approximately 400 donated bodies a year. Cadavers donated to UCSF are supplied to a number of programs including UCSF's School of Medicine, School of Dentistry and School of Pharmacy, as well as the orthopedics, ophthalmology, otolaryngology and physical therapy departments. Additionally, UCSF provides cadavers to other UC campuses and approximately 50 non-UC schools in Northern California, research groups and emergency medical education programs. Each entity must adhere to strict protocol guidelines, and each application is vetted by the UCSF Anatomical Material Review Committee.

Mom Accused of Hiding 14-Year-Old Daughter's Diabetes for 5 Years Until the Girl Died - News today

03:40
An Illinois mother has been accused in the death of her 14-year-old daughter after she allegedly denied the girl medical treatment for her diabetes for five years, PEOPLE confirms. Amber Hampshire, 39, turned herself into Alton police on Thursday and has been charged with involuntary manslaughter to a family member and child endangerment, according to police and a spokesperson for the Madison County State’s Attorney’s Office. Emily Hampshire died on Nov.at Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital in St. Louis after going into cardiac arrest, according to local TV station KTVI. The death came after Amber allegedly hid her daughter’s illness and refused to provide her with medical treatment. “If treated, it would be absolutely survivable. This death was completely senseless,” said Madison County State’s Attorney Tom Gibbons, KTVI reports. “Amber Hampshire had all of the information and all of the resources available to take care of this and instead chose to conceal it from even the closest family members.” Relatives told police and medical staff that Emily had been sick with nausea, vomiting and diarrhea for days before being found unresponsive that morning, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. She died of diabetic ketoacidosis, a complication from diabetes in which blood acids buildup when a person’s body does not produce enough insulin, according to the Mayo Clinic. Emily had been hospitalized in February for a previous complication and received medication and supplies to treat her illness, TV station KMOV reported. But the medicine was never used. Prosecutors allege that Amber went to great lengths to hide her daughter’s illness, according to KTVI. Along with relatives, Emily’s father was also kept in the dark. “There were so many supportive people around this family and around this young girl, who would’ve stepped up and helped,” said Gibbons, the state’s attorney, KTVI reports. “I have no words.” It is unclear why Amber allegedly hid Emily’s illness and refused to provide her with treatment, but Gibbons said religion did not appear to be a factor, according to the station. Amber has been released from jail after posting a portion of her $100,000 bail, Alton police tell PEOPLE. It is unclear whether she has an attorney who could comment on her behalf or has entered a plea. In the wake of Emily’s death, Amber mourned the loss in a Facebook post, according to the Post-Dispatch. “I miss her more than words can express,” she reportedly wrote, calling Emily an “angel” and “one of a kind” and sharing, “I was blessed to be her mommy.” Friends of the family set up a Facebook fundraiser after the teen’s death, writing in the description that Emily was “a shining star not only in her family’s life, but anyone she came in contact with.” “She was an outstanding student … an amazing dancer, cheerleader, and volleyball player. She competed in local beauty contest and talent shows,” the fundraiser description reads. “She had a

ACIDITY | Simple Natural Remedies for Symptoms of Heartburn & Acid Reflux | Dr Kiran Peddi

For More Videos : youtube.com/c/careandcure5 For Youtube Subscription: https://www.youtube.com/c/careandcure5?sub_confirmation=1 Gastric acid, gastric juice or stomach acid, is a digestive fluid, formed in the stomach and is composed of hydrochloric acid (HCl) .05–0.1 M (roughly 5,000–10,000 parts per million or 0.5–1%), potassium chloride (KCl) and sodium chloride (NaCl). The acid plays a key role in digestion of proteins, by activating digestive enzymes, and making ingested proteins unravel so that digestive enzymes break down the long chains of amino acids. Gastric acid is produced by cells in the lining of the stomach, which are coupled in feedback systems to increase acid production when needed. Other cells in the stomach produce bicarbonate, a base, to buffer the fluid, ensuring that it does not become too acidic. These cells also produce mucus, which forms a viscous physical barrier to prevent gastric acid from damaging the stomach. The pancreas further produces large amounts of bicarbonate and secretes bicarbonate through the pancreatic duct to the duodenum to completely neutralize any gastric acid that passes further down into the digestive tract. The main constituent of gastric acid is hydrochloric acid which is produced by parietal cells (also called oxyntic cells) in the gastric glands in the stomach. Its secretion is a complex and relatively energetically expensive process. Parietal cells contain an extensive secretory network (called canaliculi) from which the hydrochloric acid is secreted into the lumen of the stomach. The pH of gastric acid is 1.5 to 3.5in the human stomach lumen, the acidity being maintained by the proton pump H+/K+ ATPase. The parietal cell releases bicarbonate into the bloodstream in the process, which causes a temporary rise of pH in the blood, known as an alkaline tide. The highly acidic environment in the stomach lumen causes proteins from food to lose their characteristic folded structure (or denature). This exposes the protein's peptide bonds. The gastric chief cells of the stomach secrete enzymes for protein breakdown (inactive pepsinogen, and in infancy rennin). Hydrochloric acid activates pepsinogen into the enzyme pepsin, which then helps digestion by breaking the bonds linking amino acids, a process known as proteolysis. In addition, many microorganisms have their growth inhibited by such an acidic environment, which is helpful to prevent infection. Heartburn causes & symptoms and home remedies. Heartburn or acid reflux, is a common condition that affects many people. It occurs when acid, which normally resides in the stomach escapes back up into the oesophagus or as its commonly known the food pipe. Because the oesophagus is not as well protected as the stomach the acid can irritate the lining. Which can cause painful symptoms that can last for a few minutes or a few hours. Symptoms The symptoms of heartburn are generally described as a kind of tightening or burning sensation in the back of the throat and chest area (usually behind the breastbone). Some people also experience a bitter or acidic taste in the back of the throat and feeling of sickness. Few feelings are worse than the burning & uncomfortable sensation of heartburn Causes include Heartburn and indigestion can tend to have similar triggers. The Way You Eat The Types of Food You Eat The Types of Drinks You Drink Pregnancy Other known triggers include Stress. Some medicines, such as those for heart problems, asthma and high blood pressure. Being overweight. Wearing tight clothes which can put pressure on your stomach. Smoking can encourage acid production and cause the sphincter to relax. Lets look at natural remedies for curing heartburn 1 Eat a banana. Bananas, are alkaline-producing foods that are effective in balancing the pH level in the stomach. bananas can also help by coating the stomach lining and thus shielding it from painful gastric acid. Furthermore, bananas are rich in potassium, essential for absorbing food into the stomach, as well as fibre, which is important in eliminating harmful toxins. Include bananas in your everyday diet to prevent acid reflux and soothe heartburn when it happens. 2. Eat less. Instead of eating three big meals a day, try eating five to six small meals throughout the day. Smaller meals mean your body is less likely to produce lot sof acid which can aggravate your wind pipe. It will also give you the added benefit of losing some wait. Eating smaller meals will help to stabilize your blood sugar which means you are less likely to pick at surgary snacks. Drink plenty of water with your meals to help you’re your stomach breakdown your food down.
