9 Hormones That Lead to Weight Gain and Ways to Avoid It
How to Lose Weight without Workouts. You might think the only reason why you gain weight is overeating, but in fact it can also be the result of your hormones being all out of whack. Triggers like stress, age, genes, and poor lifestyle choices can cause a hormonal imbalance that leads to weight problems. To get the perfect body and keep it slim and slender, you have to follow our simple tips and keep 9 hormones under control. Thyroid hormones 0:45 The thyroid is a butterfly-shaped gland at the base of the neck. It produces the hormones T3, T4, and calcitonin, which are responsible for maintaining the body’s metabolism. If the thyroid doesn’t produce enough of these hormones, a condition called hypothyroidism, the result is often weight gain. To keep it under control, consume iodized salt (or seaweed if you’re on a low-salt diet). Avoid processed foods. Take vitamin D supplements. Consume foods rich in zinc like oysters and pumpkin seeds. Insulin 1:32 Overconsuming processed foods, unhealthy snacks, alcohol, or artificially sweetened drinks can cause the body to develop a resistance to insulin. This means that muscle cells won’t recognize glucose-bound insulin, so all that extra glucose remains in the bloodstream where it doesn’t belong. This causes a spike in blood sugar levels, leading to weight gain and Type 2 diabetes. To avoid it, consume lots of leafy greens and seasonal fruits and veggies. Eat foods full of omega-3 fatty acids. Drink at least a gallon of water every day. Exercise a minimum of 4 hours a week. Testosterone 3:45 Testosterone is often considered a strictly male hormone, but it’s produced in women too. It helps burn fat, strengthen the bones and muscles, and improve the libido. Age and high stress can cause a significant decrease in testosterone levels in women, leading to a loss of bone density and muscle mass. Work-out regularly and focus on muscle-building exercises. It helps boost testosterone levels. Avoid alcohol. Take protein supplements. Get enough fiber in your diet with the help of whole-grain foods, pumpkin seeds, and flaxseed. Leptin 6:39 Leptin is a hormone that keeps the body’s energy levels balanced by keeping hunger at bay. But when we eat food rich in sugar, the oversupply of fructose gets converted to fat that gets deposited in the liver, belly, and other regions of the body. It’s these very fat cells that secrete leptin. With high leptin levels, the brain stops receiving signals that the body doesn’t need to eat at a particular moment. Avoid sugary foods. Have no more than 3 servings of fruit per day. Consume dark green leafy veggies. Avoid processed food. Music: https://www.youtube.com/audiolibrary/music TIMESTAMPS Thyroid hormones 0:45 Insulin 1:32 Cortisol 2:39 Testosterone 3:45 Progesterone 4:40 Estrogen 5:33 Leptin 6:39 Ghrelin 7:42 Melatonin 8:12 To sum it up 9:05 SUMMARY -If the thyroid doesn’t produce enough of hormones T3, T4, and calcitonin, a condition called hypothyroidism, the result is often weight gain. -Insulin is basically responsible for maintaining glucose levels in the blood. Overconsuming processed foods, unhealthy snacks, alcohol, or artificially sweetened drinks can cause the body to develop a resistance to insulin. -The primary function of cortisol is to decrease stress levels by increasing blood sugar levels, among other things. Too much cortisol makes the body store more fat. -Age and high stress can cause a significant decrease in testosterone levels in women, leading to a loss of bone density and muscle mass. -Progesterone secretion can drop due to a variety of factors. This can result in weight gain and sagging skin. -When estrogen levels go up, the cells that produce insulin get stressed. This makes you resistant to insulin, which causes a rise in blood glucose levels and leads to weight gain. -When leptin levels go up, the brain stops receiving signals that the body doesn’t need to eat at a particular moment. -Ghrelin stimulates the appetite and increases fat deposition. -Melatonin is a hormone that regulates your natural sleep-wake cycle. If we don’t get proper sleep, this healing process gets disrupted, which causes stress and ultimately leads to inflammation-induced weight gain. -Getting enough sleep, keeping a nutritionally balanced diet, drinking plenty of water, getting at least some physical exercise, and avoiding or limiting stress will keep your hormones under control. 5 Hormones Responsible For Weight Gain In Women | Hormonal Imbalance In Women
5 Hormones Responsible For Weight Gain In Women | Hormonal Imbalance In Women Have you tried everything possible to lose weight but in vain? Why not get your hormones checked? Women are vulnerable to hormonal imbalance, food cravings and slow metabolism at all phases of their life. These may be related to pre-menstrual syndrome (PMS), pregnancy, menopause or day to day stress. In Today's video Remedies One will discuss 5 Hormones Responsible For Weight Gain In Women and in 2nd part i will discuss how to treat these Hormons . 1. Thyroid, The thyroid gland, which is present at the base of your neck produces three hormones—T3, T4, and calcitonin. These hormones regulate metabolism, sleep, heart rate, growth, brain development, etc. Sometimes the thyroid gland under-produces the thyroid hormone leading to hypothyroidism. Hypothyroidism is often associated with weight gain, depression, constipation, fatigue, high blood cholesterol, slow heart rate. 2. Insulin, Insulin is a hormone secreted by the pancreas, which helps to carry the glucose into the cells to be used as energy or to store them as fat. This helps maintain the glucose levels in the blood. Over consuming processed foods, alcohol, artificially sweetened drinks, and snacking on unhealthy foods (or even consuming too many fruits) can lead to insulin resistance. In this case, the muscle cells are not able to recognize glucose-bound insulin, and therefore glucose remains in the bloodstream causing a spike in blood sugar levels. This finally leads to weight gain and Type 2 diabetes. 3. Leptin, Under normal conditions, the hormone leptin signals that you are full and should stop eating. But due to overconsumption of foods that are high in sugar content such as candies, chocolates, fruits (that are modified to contain a lot more fructose), and processed foods, the oversupply of fructose is converted to fat that gets deposited in liver, belly and other regions of the body. Now, fat cells secrete leptin. As you keep consuming more fructose-containing foods, more fat gets accumulated, and more leptin is secreted. This, in turn, desensitizes the body to leptin and the brain stops receiving the signal to stop eating. This ultimately leads to weight gain. Menopause and Weight Gain Simplified
Menopause encourages weight gain, and it can start as early as your 30's. In this video, Dr. Becky explains how changes in your hormones encourage weight gain in your lower body when you’re in your thirties and forties. And, how those same hormones cause weight gain in the belly in your fifties and beyond. Hormones and Weight Gain Progesterone is a hormone that is primarily produced by your ovaries after ovulation. Estrogen is produced by your ovaries all month long, but can also be produced by your fat cells. You can enter early perimenopause in your 30’s. In this stage, it’s not unusual to skip ovulation a few times a year. The missed ovulation means there is less progesterone produced, which leads to a condition called estrogen dominance. A symptom of estrogen dominance is weight gain in the hips and thighs. Menopause and Belly Fat As you age, your period becomes increasingly irregular, and then stops when you reach menopause. At and beyond menopause, both estrogen and progesterone are low. Your body tries to get more estrogen from your fat cells by encouraging fat production. Metabolic shifts caused by the low estrogen levels, shift your fat storage from your lower body to your belly, resulting in the menopausal belly fat that is a problem for so many post-menopausal women. Do you want to fight back against menopausal belly fat? I explain how in this video: https://youtu.be/udieK3hsdm0 When you’re ready to start losing weight, watch my free video series that shares 4 Daily Habits that give your body no choice but to lose weight. http://www.drbeckyfitness.com/coaching

How to Fix Your Hormones and Lose Weight
I’ve discussed different reasons for weight-loss resistance in past blogs. Many obstacles have nothing to do with what you eat or how much you exercise. Instead, they involve things like nutritional imbalances, chronic inflammation, metabolic challenges, leaky gut, changes in your microbiome, environmental toxins and your genes.

Symptoms of Female Hormone Imbalance & Impact on Weight Loss
http://getleantoday.com - Dr. Raj Banerjee introduces a series of videos that show you step-by-step how to stop your suffering and literally hand your life back to you - no matter how hard you've tried before. Here are the tough but true facts: - North America is facing an epidemic of obesity and chronic diseases. - 50 percent of Americans will have some form of cancer in their lifetime. - One in six Americans is either pre-diabetic or diabetic. - 66 % of Americans are overweight. - Over ten million Americans are taking anti-depressants. - 50% of people over 85 will have Alzheimer’s Disease. - Someone dies of heart disease every 34 seconds. - One in six Americans suffers from an Anxiety Disorder. - For the first time, in the history of our species our life expectancy is going down. That means that our children will get sicker and die younger than their parents. Dr Raj is going to share with you how you can make it stop and how he can help you feel yourself again! What are the symptoms of Hormone Imbalance that Dr Raj can help with? Fat, fatigued, depressed, food dependency, compulsive overeating, chocolate craving, bread or carbohydrate cravings, low sex drive, cry easily, PMS, mood swings, hot flashes, night sweats, insomnia, irritability, sweet cravings, bloating, fluid retention, gas, weight gain without changes in diet even when you are exercising more, drinking alcohol or wine daily to relax cramping, irrational thoughts, anxiety, waking up at night around 2 to 4am, poor bladder control, osteoporosis, breast cancer, heart disease, infertility, irregular cycles, poor reactions to estrogen. The first 3 are the most common: Fat, fatigued and depressed. Here's the summary of hormone imbalances. Putting on weight that you can’t lose with all the typical strategies you have done in the past. Being tired all the time. Even though you are getting enough sleep, so you shouldn’t be tired. And having low mood, or depression. Those are the cardinal symptoms of adrenal exhaustion and female hormonal imbalances. He shares a case study of Sara, a big, beautiful, 40 some year old woman who charged into his office and demanded to know what Dr Raj can do to help her. Watch how he helped her figure out the cause of her hormone imbalance and safely and naturally led her to a healthy balance. Mary is another client case. She was on very heavy dosage of HRT, a synthetic hormone therapy, She had hot flashes and night sweats. And her symptom? She wanted to kill her husband, though she had a great marriage, and been married for 27 years, but couldn’t stand him. Dr Raj helped her make a transition from synthetic hormone to natural hormone over the course of 6 months. She now wants to get off the natural hormones because she feels in control. Her mood and energy is great, her sex drive is back, and she is happy with her husband again. She has made a transition in her life, from heavy dependency on a synthetic hormone to dependency on a safer, natural hormone to even thinking about stopping that. Its pretty simple once you do the detective work and find out what is actually causing your problem. and fix the underling cause and not just the symptoms. Dr Raj wants you to know ovarian hormones and female hormones do not spontaneously malfunction by themselves. They are responding to stress as a stress hormone called cortisol. Every molecule of cortisol that you produce comes from progesterone. When you under stress guess what happens? Your cortisol goes up and your progesterone drops. Dr Raj can test your cortisol and fix it. He can test your female hormones and fix your whole hormonal system at the same time and eliminate all your symptoms. This will help eliminate depression and fatigue, night sweats, hot flashes, mood swings and it will improve your metabolism so you will able to start losing weight effectively. Estrogen and testosterone are the main sex hormones in females and males, but there are many other hormones in our body which control its functions. In order to maintain your health at higher level, you should know how hormones work. For instance, there are hormones that control hunger and weight loss and they are called insulin, lepton and cortical. You can boost the hormones associated with controlling hunger and losing weight by developing certain habits. Many people relate insulin to diabetes which is due to it determining if the blood sugar is used for immediate energy or stored fat. What you consume and how you consume it directly affects the insulin levels. Great amount of insulin is produced due to the consumption of too many carbs, and as a result, the cells are not able to absorb it and the liver converts it to fat. If you want to control your insulin levels, you should eat small meals that include high fiber grains, vegetables and lean meats every 2-3 hours. On the other hand, you should avoid or even eliminate white pasta, highly processed foods, bread and white sugar. Cortical which is known as the stress hormone affects the blood sugar. It also regulates the metabolism, and controls salt and water balance. For instance, when you are under some kind of stress, the cortisol encourages the body to store fat around the vital organs. As a result, this process releases dangerous fatty acids into the blood and then raises both cholesterol and insulin levels. Make sure to take a walk during your lunch break, in order to control levels of cortiosol, but also cut down caffeine, eat slowly and sleep minimum 7 hours. Leptin is yet another hormone which is also known as the hunger hormone and it is directly linked to body fat and obesity. It is released from fat cells. It is very powerful since it can affect the time of your body that requires to feel satiated on the long term. In order to keep it under control, you will need to avoid the consumption of sugary and processed foods, be more physically active and get full night rest. How your meals should look like?. You should eat small meals every 2-3 hours and they should consist of healthy fats, veggies and lean proteins. Beside healthy meals, you should also sleep 7-9 hours per night and stay away from processed and sugary foods. Lead a healthy life by controlling your weight and hunger hormones.

10 Early Warning Signs Your Estrogen Levels Are Too High & How To Fix It
Nothing helps the body work like it should than when its hormones are perfectly balanced. The key to making sure that women’s bodies are hormonally balanced is making sure that their estrogen levels are where they need to be. Estrogen also plays an important role regulating the menstrual cycle. Bloating and a decreased sex drive are just two indicators of estrogen dominance—what takes place when your estrogen level gets and stays too high. Recognizing the signs and symptoms of too much estrogen can help you know to make sure your hormones stay regulated. Weight loss, high blood pressure, diabetes, and pregnancy are some of culprits of estrogen dominance. Let’s take a closer look at these and more. Here are 10 signs that you have estrogen dominance: 1. Weight Gain Putting on more than a few extra pounds can be an indication of too much estrogen. It causes bloating and makes it even harder to lose the weight. If you want to lose weight and keep it off, your estrogen can’t suffer rapid changes. 2. Heavy Menstruation When your estrogen levels rise, it can have the unwanted side effect of giving you a heavier period than normal. So, if that happens, you might want to consider having your estrogen level checked. 3. Decreased Sex Drive When you just don’t want intimacy with your significant other, it could mean a significantly increased amount of estrogen. High amounts of estrogen point to a lowered sex drive; however, you don’t want your estrogen to fall too low. It can also affect your desire for sex. 4. Irregular Period As we’ve already seen, your hormones and your period are closely related. When your estrogen fluctuates more than it should, the time between your period becomes unpredictable also. 5. Swollen Breasts When your hormone levels change, your breasts can become overly sensitive. So, when your breasts get tender to the touch, it might mean that you’ve got too much estrogen. 6. Changes in Mood Estrogen can affect your mental health. Too much of the female hormone has been attributed to panic and anxiety attacks as well as depression. 7. Frequent Headaches Have you recently experienced migraine headaches? Have you begun to get headaches more than normal? These issues could be cause by estrogen dominance. 8. Hair Loss When your body produces too much estrogen, your hair begins to thin. As it thins, it begins to fall out. Balancing your estrogen levels can take care of this irritating problem. 9. Insomnia When you’re having trouble sleeping, the cause could be too much estrogen. Our bodies know when there are problems and often times has problems adjusting. Sleep loss can be a reflection of that. 10. Cold Extremities Estrogen levels can affect circulation too. If your hormone levels are abnormal it could be the reason you're having a hard time keeping your hands and feet warm. Balance Your Hormone Levels with These 5 Foods 1. Rosemary Rosemary doesn’t just add flavor to your favorite recipes. It can also improve memory function, boost your metabolism, and contribute to a properly functioning thyroid. Best of all, rosemary is one of the foods responsible for producing estrogen. 2. Cruciferous Vegetables I3C, or indole-3-carbinol as this nutrient is properly known, is found in cruciferous vegetables like spinach, bok choy, kale, Brussels sprouts, and broccoli. These all have the important job of ridding the body of excess estrogen because the I3C converts into a substance that helps the liver flush the body when it has too much estrogen. 3. Flaxseed Another food that assists in getting rid of excess estrogen is flaxseed. The lignans and phytoestrogens present in these tiny seeds help regulate estrogen in the body by controlling how much of the hormone is able to bind to estrogen receptors. 4. Isoflavones Found in several herbs such as Trifolium pratense, Puerari montana, and Pueraria lobata, isoflavones have antioxidant properties that boost low estrogen levels. These herbs can be found in certain teas and are a great way to balance estrogen levels. 5. Activated Folic Acid You often hear about the importance of folic acid in women’s health. That’s because it’s present in the same leafy green vegetables that are high in I3C. It’s able to change estrogen into a form that actually lowers the risk of some forms of cancer. Weight Gain Reasons: 7 Hidden Reasons For Weight Gain Everyone Should Know;Reasons for Weight Gain Thanks For Watching This Video:Weight Gain Reasons: 7 Hidden Reasons For Weight Gain Everyone Should Know;Reasons for Weight Gain : https://youtu.be/X89V3XOwBPM Don't forget to Subscribe for updates: https://goo.gl/WqO5fo According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, more than one-third of adults in the United States are obese. If you aren’t actively taking control of your health by exercising and eating a balanced diet full of whole foods, weight gain can and probably will creep up on you at some point or another. In addition to diet and exercise, many other habits you keep can have an impact on weight gain. Here are seven scientific reasons why you gain weight: 1. You Work The Night Shift Your body is programmed to eat during the day and sleep at night. Working the night shift can lead to weight gain because it breaks down the body’s natural physiological cycle. The result becomes a decrease in total daily energy expenditure. In other words, you end up burning less calories. 2. You Aren’t Sleeping Enough Research has shown that lack of sleep causes weight gain. Sleep plays a key role in energy metabolism. When you don’t get enough sleep, you end up eating more. Your body searches for food in order to create more energy to maintain your waking hours. 3. You Are Experiencing Environmental Pollution Certain environmental pollutants have been shown to increase the risk of obesity. Exposure to these pollutants can cause a build up of contaminants in fatty tissue. These contaminants reach the body through foods that are high in fat, including meat and fatty fish. 4. You Watch Too Much T.V. Research has shown that spending more than two hours a day sitting in front of the television increases the risk of obesity by 23%. Falling asleep with the television on can also increase your risk of obesity. Studies show that exposure to artificial light during sleep reduces melatonin levels. Melatonin is a hormone that protects the body from metabolic disorders that cause obesity and diabetes. 5. You Have Anxiety Stress, depression and anxiety can all lead to weight gain. People who suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder are more prone to obesity than those who do not suffer from the condition. When you reduce our levels of stress and anxiety, you can also reduce your chances of obesity. 6. You Eat “Low-fat” Foods Research has shown that low-fat isn’t the way to go when it comes to maintaining a healthy weight. Studies have concluded that eating high-fat dairy is linked to a lower risk of developing obesity. 7. You Eat In Restaurants That Play Classical Music One study found that people consume more food and coffee in restaurants where classical music is playing in the background. It might sound odd, but avoiding such restaurants might help reduce your chances of weight gain! Hormonal Imbalance in Women - Chronic Fatigue, Stress and Weight Gain
Hormonal Imbalance in Women - Chronic Fatigue, Stress and Weight Gain: http://mariahdolan.com/adrenal-fatigue/. If you're gaining weight, fatigued all the time, can't focus, are stressed/anxious/irritable or depressed, have ruthless PMS symptoms wreaking hormone havoc and you have no idea why because you're doing all the right things, you need to watch this video. Secondly, if you've been shuffled around from doctor to doctor telling you there's nothing wrong with you and you're normal, you need to watch this video. You may have adrenal fatigue if you allow stress to go unchecked. Today I'm getting personal. So personal, that I'm sharing all my private lab tests with you. So what do my lab tests have to do with you and how can you benefit from this information? #1. Because I'm the perfect example of somebody who was doing all the right things, and still got sick. VIDEO TRANSCRIPT Over the past year, I've been struggling with some health issues that I didn't want to tell you about, primarily because I'm a physical therapist, personal trainer and a health coach. How can I possibly have any health issues? I'm supposed to be the model of optimum health, right? But here's the deal. I'm human too. Just because I have a fancy health education doesn't make me immune to disease. So I decided that if I withhold my personal health struggles from you, what a disservice that is. What if right now, you're experiencing the same symptoms that I have? I want you to be able to use me as an example of what to do, and what NOT to do, so that you don't have to struggle like I did. One year ago, I started getting tired, like reeeeeeeallly tired. My alarm clock would go off, and I would just lay there and think, "oh my gosh, I will cut off my right arm for 20 more minutes of sleep!" The problem was, this incredible sense of fatigue I had, never went away, even if I got enough sleep. So that was warning sign #1. Eventually, I'd roll out of bed, drag my sluggish body downstairs to workout before my kids woke up. I'd complete my workout, and literally feel like I did nothing. Seriously, not a drop of sweat on my body, not even that glow that you get like when you just worked out. So that was warning sign #2. Warning sign #3: I started gaining weight. Now this was the most frustrating symptom of all, because I was doing all the right things. I was eating clean, I was working out, yet I was storing fat around my midsection and couldn't help it. Warning sign #4 I had constant PMS symptoms. (Again, another fun one.) I had breast tenderness and swelling, bloating, water retention, irritability, and the strongest high-fat high-carb cravings I've ever had. The best way I can describe it is always feeling like you're just about to get your period. That's how I felt...all. the. time. Warning sign #5 I started spotting between periods. Then my periods started getting closer together, then every 2 weeks, to where I eventually never stopped bleeding. And this went on for 2 months. So you can imagine this was the symptom that finally did me in. It was a physical symptom that I couldn't make an excuse for. So I went to my doctor like most people would where she ran some blood tests, and there was nothing wrong with me. Then I went to my gynecologist about the prolonged bleeding, she ordered a vaginal ultrasound and yep, nothing wrong with me. She prescribed birth control pills, 20 mcg of estrogen per day, to get me back on track. And I'll tell you, something just didn't sit right with me that we were throwing something at my symptoms without knowing why. Plus birth control pills aren't recommended for women over the age of 35. And yep, I'm over 35! So here I was, feeling like crap, with nothing wrong with me. So, I started doing all the wrong things like eating sugar and drinking caffeine because I was desperately trying to borrow energy to get through my day. Of course this only caused more weight gain and made my energy problems worse. That's when I finally decided to find a naturopathic doctor who I hoped would listen, and run some unconventional tests to figure out why I was feeling so crummy. My BioIdentical Hormone 30 lb Weight Gain Story & How I Lost 6 pounds in 2 weeks
http://jenspringer.com My BioIdentical Hormone Weight Gain & How I Lost 6 pounds in 2 weeks. Got a story to tell you! Grab a pen, pad, and something to drink especially if you are a woman that cannot lose A POUND OF WEIGHT! If you are concerned you're gaining weight for no reason, this is an important video for weight gain and weight loss due to hormones. Few years we were exposed to mold. It affected me with my hormones. Neurological problems, panic attacks, anxiety, feeling crazy, thyroid out the window and severe hormone problems. Adrenals out the window too, adrenal fatigue. With a lot of research and my own practitioner experience with a MS in Nutrition, BS Environmental Science, and AS in Massage Therapy. I knew there were something going on, one doesn't lose weight and feel crazy for no reason. One of my physicians gave me a mega dose of bioidentical progesterone at 200 mg / day. I gained a pound a week! All progesterone turned into estrogen and weight gain was so bad I gained 30 pounds of fat. Weight gain not due eating. I eat vegetables, proteins, complex carbohydrates that are all low glycemic. The weight gain was NOT due to diet. No sugar, no sugar drinks. The scale every week was going up a pound. I surrendered myself to the 30 pounds because I was sleeping better, not feeling as crazy, and stopped tremoring. 6 months went by and I found a different physician. He explained to me that ALL of the progesterone was turning into estrogen. Estrogen affects blood sugar by increasing insulin and also lowers thyroid function. Sugar increases in the blood and FAT STORES in the belly. It was tough!!! The dose of progesterone was lowered and was paired with chrysin. My progesterone and testosterone was low and estrogen was high. I stopped gaining weight immediately after the lower dose w/ progesterone and chrysin. Every few months I tried to lose weight and I'd feel crazy due to hormones releasing during weight loss. Sleep problems, anxiety, and feeling crazy. Then I started estrogen detoxification for 1.5 years SLOWLY every day, EVERY DAY and being mindful about diet no eating anything possibly estrogenic. No soy or pomegranates. No ginger, cinnamon, turmeric for me either. Lots of spice can act estrogenic affect too. I would keep detoxing then I would try to lose the bioidentical hormone weight gain and I would feel crazy again. The weight I gained for no logical reason! It took 2 years of detoxing estrogen before I could lose any weight. I would test the waters. January 1st 2018 I said ENOUGH of the weight. I remembered when I easily maintained weight and I did that. Breakfast NOON Lunch 4 pm Dinner 8 pm Snack 12 am (because of hypoglycemia) No snacking in between meals. No drinks with calories. Body will use the fuel from previous meals and will help balance leptin levels. This intermittant fasting thing started working really well and SLASHED calories to 1100-1200 a day. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 1100 to 1200 calories on the 12-4-4-4 meal times with low glycemic (55 and under) foods. Friday, Saturday, Sunday normal calories and still low glycemic foods. Sometimes I do 12-4-4-4 and sometimes I snack. Not super ridgid. My BioIdentical Hormone Weight Gain & How I Lost 6 pounds in 2 weeks 1. Intermittent fasting 2. Calorie slashing 3. Glycemic Index under 55 Log all foods in the glycemic index to watch the GI and calories. Daily glycemic average is between 35-45. Very important to keep insulin levels low to lose weight. These are a few things you can try, we are all different. More videos on how to detox extrogen and low glycemic but this can get you started. You are not alone if you have gained weight on bioidentical hormones, progesterone can become estrogen so easily. ⚖️ 6 Habits That’ll Quickly Make You Fat & Cause Weight Gain
Discover The Big “Weight Loss Scam” - Why 93% of Diet & Exercise Programs Fail. Plus, how you can quickly and naturally turn ON your “fat burning genes”: 👉 http://drsam.co/yt/SeeTheScam Or you can watch this video: http://drsam.co/yt/EatAnythingDiet ======================================= ⚖️ 6 Habits That’ll Quickly Make You Fat & Cause Weight Gain ======================================= There are lots of things you can do to lose weight. However, if you keep doing the WRONG things that make you fat, it makes the whole process so much harder. You don’t want to “sabotage” your weight loss efforts, by unknowingly making the following 6, daily habits that’ll quickly make you fat. So let’s save you time and effort, help speed up the weight loss process and more importantly, keep the fat off long-term! 1 - Eating While Distracted Eating while watching TV is probably the #1 cause of eating excessive calories. In fact, research by The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition revealed that distractions results in a person eating 50 percent more calories. Let's face it, when you're eating and watching TV or on your laptop or something else distracting, you're not pay attention to what you're eating. You're focused on the show, so you just keep eating, snacking and drinking. You're not "mindful"... So watch TV without any snacks or foods, unless it's vegetables with NO dressing. 2 - Eating Too Quickly Most of us are in a rush and we're not chewing your foods properly. This causes stomach problems, gas, bloat, acid reflux and weight gain. And one of the reasons you gain weight is because 20 minutes of eating, typically signals your brain that you're full. When you eat slowly, you'll eat LESS food during that time…. Because your brain shuts off your appetite. 3 - Drinking Your Calories Drinking your calories is a big problem because it only takes a couple of minutes to have juice, soda, a "shake" or any other liquid that's loaded with lots of calories. Eating real food causes a "thermogenic" effects, thus increasing your body temperature and metabolism. Also, "drinks" are typically loaded with lots of sugars, which spike up your insulin levels and increase belly fat. 4 - Not Moving Enough Your body is made to move. Yet, most people just sit all day -- you're sitting at work, in your car, behind the computer, while eating and so forth. You need to exercise or "move" daily. Simply taking a brisk, 20-30 minute walk daily will increase your metabolism because it improves your hormones and reduces cravings. 5 - Not Eating Often Enough Most people skip breakfast, which isn't a good idea. But the bigger problem is that most people skip lots of meals and then when they do sit down to finally eat, they are so hungry that they'll eat anything and make poor eating decisions. By eating more often, you'll have more energy, better blood sugar levels and less cravings and hunger. Also, the more often you eat, the faster your metabolism because your body has to "turn on" to digest all the food. Thus, eat smaller meals, more often. This can be 3 regular meals like breakfast, lunch and dinner. Plus 2 smaller "snack" meals. You can eat the same calories, but spread it over 5 smaller meals and you'll lose fat and feel better too. 6 - Not Drinking Enough Water Most people don't drink enough water and thus, are walking around dehydrated. To make it worse, most people are loaded on caffeine products -- coffee, "energy drinks", tea and so forth. When you're dehydrated, your more tired and fatigued. This causes you to move less and burn less calories. Drinking water, especially cold water, causes a thermogenic effect, similar to eating more meals. Drinking water, especially before a meal, also reduces hunger pains and cravings. It also prevents you from drinking OTHER "caloric" liquids. ======================================== Thank you for watching. Please feel free to comment, like or share with your friends. Can unexplained weight gain be due to hormonal imbalance? - Dr. Anantharaman Ramakrishnan
Most patients who have some sort of weight gain which is unexplained, there is usually no underling hormonal disorder even after evaluation as many of these small problems that are there like weight gain which are there due to change in mood, depression or anxiety, poor sleep, overeating and drinking, all these things contribute to weight gain. So typically they are not due to hormonal disorders. So hormonal disorder associated wright gain tends to have some other characteristic like high blood pressure, diabetes and certain other markers are there and typically these patients are identified by a clinical examination. So if you feel that you are putting on weight, you could visit an endocrinologist which can clinically assess you and find out if the weight gain is too much and then and hormonal cause is the reason for this but it requires clinical acumen rather than lab tests.

Stress, hormones and weight gain connection
Stress, hormones and weight gain connection. There is an important connection between stress, hormones and weight gain, which manifests itself in many forms. Besides eating the wrong kinds of food and lack of exercise, being permanently stressed will disrupt our hormone balance. Our bodies produce many different hormones to keep it in balance. However, physical stress is as important to address as emotional stress. When for example we take in a stimulant such as coffee or a cigarette (physical stressors), or react stressfully to a situation (emotional stress), the body produces the cortisol hormone in the adrenal glands which are located on top of the kidneys. Cortisol is often called the “stress hormone” due to the fact that it is being released in situations when we are under any sort of pressure or in a flight or fight mode. High cortisol levels contribute, among other symptoms to weight gain. In women, cortisol competes for receptor sites with an important female hormone, progesterone. So the net effect of being permanently in a stressed or stimulated state is less active progesterone. Since cortisol also increases the production of estrogen, prolonged stress can contribute to estrogen dominance. A situation where estrogen is the dominant hormone because there is not enough progesterone to complement it, may result in a variety of symptoms, including weight gain. Stress also upsets the balance of the male hormone, testosterone, which is made in the adrenal glands in men as well as women. In women, excess testosterone production can lead, among other symptoms to subsequent weight gain. On the other hand, research shows that in men, low testosterone levels will make them gain weight . Hormone imbalances brought on by the wrong kind of diet, unhealthy lifestyle and exposure to hormone-disrupting chemicals, can lead to either an androgen (masculinising hormone) dominance or estrogen dominance. Excessive androgen levels are linked to fat gain in upper body and waist, while excessive estrogen levels are associated with lower body fat gain. Thus, apple-shaped people are more likely to be androgen dominant while pear-shaped people are more likely to be estrogen dominant. Either way, too much stress, sugar and stimulants are most definitely going to contribute to unwanted weight gain. Women Hormones and Weight Gain After 40 Have you experienced unexplained weight gain in your 40s? Have you been eating all the correct nourishments and practicing different times each week, yet at the same time can't shake that additional weight? It might be because of your hormones. Balance your Hormones and Lose up to 15 pounds in just 3 weeks! During perimenopause (the transition period into menopause), our estrogen and progesterone levels diminish, and eventually will become obsolete during menopause down the road. This hormonal change should bit by bit occur after some time, however for a few, that isn't generally the case. Water Retention and PCOS
Water retention is a big deal with PCOS and hormone imbalance. It can make us feel fat, bloated, thick and unhealthy. Maybe you’ve gained 5 pounds in one day, your waist is much less defined, your rings no longer fit, and your shoes feel tighter. If you’re struggling with fluid retention you should know you’re not alone. Hi, I'm Robin Nielsen, the Chief Wellness Officer here at Insulite Health. I’m so glad you’re here. We’ve found that water retention, also known as edema or fluid retention is a very hot topic for women with PCOS and hormone imbalance, so we want you to understand what is happening and show you how you have all the power to reduce fluid retention in your body. And it can happen at any age. I can tell when I’m retaining water. Rings that were loose I can’t even put on my fingers. My face looks a little puffier and my shoes are tight. That’s because the extremities are the first to retain fluids due to less circulation in those areas…. When I was younger this happened for me all the time, and it’s a main reason I gained weight so easily. But as I learned why this happens and how to avoid it, I rarely retain water any more. You might have “cankels” – swollen ankles - where it’s hard to see the bones in your ankles. My mother and great grandmother had this symptom – and it’s so important to address because it’s a serious indication that something’s not right. Some other symptoms of fluid retention are: aching in the affected areas, feeling stiff in the joints, rapid weight gain over days or weeks, unexplained weight fluctuations, when you press the skin it may hold an indent for a few seconds. Fluid retention, bloating, and water retention are three terms for the same condition – excess fluids accumulating in your body’s cavities. Women with PCOS often report this troubling symptom and as we age it can become more and more of a problem. Imbalanced hormones, especially estrogen, might be affecting your body’s normalizing mechanisms, or it could be a side effect of birth control pills, which is one of the more common PCOS drugs. There can be many causes of fluid retention: insulin resistance, hot weather, standing for long periods of time, hormone fluctuations – particularly estrogen, the birth control pill, nutrient deficiencies, elevate cortisol (stress), chronic venous insufficiency where the weakened valves in the veins of the legs fail to efficiently return blood to the heart and certain medications. Insulin tells your kidneys to hang on to sodium and water which in turn causes fluid retention. So it’s critical to implement the PCOS 5-Element System to reduce fluid retention: 1) the right nutrients, it’s been found that many nutrients like magnesium, chromium, vanadium, carnitine, the B vitamins and more help to improve insulin sensitivity, reduce stress and support blood vessels better, 2) the right food – a diet high in refined, processed carbohydrates causes an spike in water retention, but a well-balanced whole food diet reduces insulin and it’s aging effects, 3) movement – using the right types of movement to improve insulin sensitivity and to balance hormones, 4) understand cravings so you’re not tempted to indulge in foods and toxic behaviors that don’t support you, 5) get some support! The Real Hormone That Causes Age-Related Weight Gain
Scientists have discovered a possible connection between the body fat of menopausal women and some men and a hormone known as FSH, or follicle-stimulating hormone. Dr. Mone Zaidi, a professor of medicine at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in Manhattan, was investigating whether the hormone could affect bone density. And while it does have a stark effect, the hormone may be one of the most powerful dials on the biological systems that control how these women’s bodies store fat and burn calories. https://www.geek.com/science/what-really-causes-weight-gain-as-we-agenew-hormone-implicated-in-age-related-weight-gain-1711080/?source http://www.wochit.com This video was produced by YT Wochit News using http://wochit.com

Estrogen and Cortisol: 2 Hormones That Affect Belly Fat: Thomas DeLauer
Be Sure to Subscribe for Up to 5x Videos Per Week!! http://www.ThomasDeLauer.com Estrogen and Cortisol: 2 Hormones That Affect Belly Fat: Thomas DeLauer Estrogen Estrogen is known as the “female” hormone and testosterone is known as the “male” hormone. Although they’re identified with a specific gender, both hormones are found in women and men. Women have more estrogen and men have more testosterone It's also the hormone that can be the most troublesome in the fat department At normal levels, estrogen actually helps keep you lean by increasing the production of insulin, a hormone that manages blood sugar. When estrogen gets thrown off, though, it turns you into a weight-gain machine. Xenoestrogens are fat-soluble and non-biodegradable in nature. Unfortunately, accumulating estrogen is not hard. We are constantly exposed to estrogen-like compounds since the major sources of these Xenoestrogens are pesticides, detergents, petroleum products, plastic products, cosmetics, etc. (1) Fat Gain The "thickening" of women's bodies and the "softening" of men's bodies are often related to excess estrogen. When in excess, estrogen promotes the growth of estrogen sensitive tissues, leading to an increased size of adipose (fat) tissues in the waist, belly and other estrogen sensitive fat tissues In men, fat accumulation is typically in the belly and chest; for women, in the belly, lower butt, upper thighs and sometimes in the back of the arms. In some cases, excess estrogen causes feminization of men's bodies with conditions such as genecomastia. Estrogen sensitive fat tissues are also called "stubborn fat" due to their high resistance to fat burning. Generally, not even diet or exercise can help remove this estrogen sensitive tenacious fat. Excess estrogen works in a vicious cycle. Estrogen promotes fat gain, and the enlarged fat tissue produces more estrogen within its cells, which then promotes more fat gain, and so on. Cortisol Back in the bad old hunter-gatherer days, the human species got a lot of use out of the hormone cortisol. That's the stress hormone activated during the fight-or-flight response, causing our blood pressure to rise and heart rate to increase. But in the modern world, there's little need to either fight or flee. Yet the cortisol release remains functional in the species, only now it's activated in response to the stressors of modern society (e.g., bad traffic, malfunctioning machinery, domestic discord) rather than natural perils or challenges to survival. Fat Gain Repeated elevation of cortisol can lead to weight gain in 3 ways: 1) One way is via visceral fat storage. Cortisol can mobilize triglycerides from storage and relocate them to visceral fat cells (those under the muscle, deep in the abdomen). Cortisol also aids adipocytes’ development into mature fat cells. The biochemical process at the cellular level has to do with enzyme control (11-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase), which converts cortisone to cortisol in adipose tissue. Solutions Vitamin C Vitamin C is probably the best and most cost-effective supplement that you can take to balance high cortisol levels naturally. Multiple studies have found out that vitamin C supplementation after exercise rapidly clears cortisol and that when vitamin C is administered before a stressful situation it blunts the stress induced rise in cortisol. Ashwagandha Ashwagandgha (Withania Somnifera) is an Indian herb commonly referred to as “adaptogen” because it is a compound that helps the body adapt to stress related stimuli References 1) Estrogen Dominance, - Women Living Naturally. Are You Overtraining? | The Effects of Overtraining on Hormones- Thomas DeLauer
Are You Overtraining? | The Effects of Overtraining on Hormones- Thomas DeLauer: Balancing Workouts, Diet, Career, and Family is all a balancing act, and that's why I specialize in it at http://www.thomasdelauer.com So you found the inner fire inside of yourself and it is go time - time to eat healthy and workout hard! But you have heard that it is good to start slowly and work your way up. It may surprise you that this is not only for the purpose of not injuring your body. Working out is one of the quickest ways to affect your hormone production. Working out is a stress on your body. When you have healthy amounts of stress your body has time to heal and recover, leaving it stronger than it was before. When you do not give yourself that time to recover from stress, this can lead to a whole bunch of issues. We all know that too much stress is a bad thing; chronic stress has been linked to headaches, overeating and obesity, restlessness, illness, and digestive problems. Our body’s stress response is similar when we exercise as when we experience a life stress, such as traffic or losing a job. Signals are sent that queue the release of stress hormones, such as cortisol and adrenaline, into our blood from our adrenal glands. Elevated cortisol levels can signal that your body is undergoing chronic stress, which could be caused by life situations or by over exertion during workouts. One study from the Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research found that cortisol levels in saliva were higher for those who underwent long duration, high intensity exercise (over 59 minutes of high intensity cardio.) Studies have also found that a similar increase in cortisol is experienced during heavy weight training workouts. Another study looked at cortisol levels in those performing the same workout under two conditions: no additional emotional stress and additional emotional stress. Those that were exposed to emotional stress at the same time as working out had higher cortisol levels. This signifies the importance of both our wellbeing and our workout load on our hormone levels. Alright, so we see that high intensity exercise can lead to raised cortisol levels. How does this impact us? Overtraining Syndrome: If you work out too hard and do not allow adequate recovery time, you may suffer from OTS. Symptoms include: -Problems sleeping -Disrupted mood and behavior -Fatigue -Hindered athletic performance -Sexual dysfunction - reduced sexual desire, even infertility -Bone loss -Weakened immune system -Difficulty losing weight -Amenorrhea (absence of menstrual bleeding) -Physical injuries What causes these symptoms? One of the large factors is an imbalance in your hormones. Hormones: Chronically high cortisol levels can lead to your body being in a catabolic state, where your body is not breaking down fat but rather muscle for fuel. It can also lead to a weakened immune system. If you have one hormone that is out of whack, it is likely to impact your other hormones. Chronically elevated cortisol levels lead to a decrease in the level of testosterone, estrogen and progesterone. These are the sex hormones, and are very important to our daily wellbeing. These changes reflect a change in the balance of catabolic hormones and anabolic hormones. This danger is particularly of concern for women. When your sex hormones are imbalanced you can experience amenorrhea, when your body enters a state where it no longer is able to menstruate. Eventually the adrenal glands go into a state of exhaustion, known as adrenal fatigue, where hormone production overall is slowed. In this state your body is not as capable of dealing with stress. At this state even your cortisol levels are low, leading to many of the down feelings associated. Tips: If you think you may be experiencing OTS, it may be time to take a step back and do what is best for your body. Give yourself time to recover. If you are experiencing high stress at home or work, do a more relaxing exercise, such as yoga. This can help to reduce your cortisol rather than raise it, which will happen if you run hard for a long time or lift heavy weights. References: 1. Dr. Hoban - Hormonal Imbalance and Weight Gain
In order to lose weight you need to address the imbalances in your body. Hormonal imbalance is only one reason for weight gain. When the adrenal glands are out of balance, you will most likely gain weight throughout the whole body. In this case, exercise is not beneficial until the adrenal glands are really balanced. We need rest and sleep, this is a very important part of life. #DrHoban #HolisticHealth

Beat Menopause Belly Fat by Starving Your Fat Cells (Not Yourself)
You can beat menopausal belly fat. Watch as Dr. Becky shares the foods to eat and avoid to starve your fat cells (not yourself). Click Here for Dr. Becky's Weight Loss Coaching Program http://www.drbeckyfitness.com/coaching When you reach menopause your body wants more fat because fat is a source of estrogen. You don’t want those extra pounds, so in this video I’ll show you how to keep belly fat under control by starving your fat cells, without starving yourself. Menopause changes two things: 1. It change where fat is stored on your body (i.e. more gets deposited in your midsection and less in your lower body). 2. It changes where estrogen is produced. The ovaries no longer make estrogen, but your fat cells do, so higher body fat% is not frowned upon by your post-menopausal body. Cortisol is another hormone that is not automatically thought about with menopause, but it contributes to belly fat. Think of cortisol as the stress hormone, physical or emotional stress, even a lack of sleep causes an increased release of cortisol. Bottom Line: you have to work with your body during and after menopause to get it to do what you want. The trick is to starve your fat cells without starving yourself. In this video I show you how with the right food choices and time-restricted eating. How to Lose Weight While Taking Antidepressants?
Losing weight is difficult as it is but it is even bigger challenge when you are taking antidepressants. Discover why Dr. Sam Robbins, health expert, recommends Lean Optimizer™, as one of the solutions for weight loss while taking Antidepressants. http://drsam.co/yt/WhileTakingAntidepressants-LO ************************** How to Lose Weight While Taking Antidepressants? ********************** Losing weight is never fun and for most of us, it is not easy especially as we get older. Losing weight is difficult as it is but it is even bigger challenge when you are taking antidepressants. Moreover, the reason is due to your change in hormones. Over the years, I have discovered TWO main reasons for the weight gain from use of antidepressants: The first is the most commonly prescribe antidepressants, SSRIs - such as Prozac, Lexapro, Paxil, Zoloft - they work by increasing serotonin, which helps regulate your appetite. So typically, antidepressant users start eating more because their appetite has increased which is the initial and primary cause of weight gain. Secondly, there is another phenomenon that I have noticed over the years: With people who swear they are not eating more and yet, they still gain weight. After doing lots of different blood work I have noticed a change in metabolic markers: One of them being lowered thyroid production as well as a change adrenal function such as higher cortisol levels (stress hormone) and lower adrenal production. Both are leading to slower metabolism and faster weight gain. As you can see, hormones really do control everything, throw in aging and now things get a bit more challenging. In this video, I am going to give you proven solutions that will help reduce your appetite and maximize your fat loss. So, do not worry – it is not your fault. There is hope! And I have got the solution and you CAN do it! In this video, I will show you how to decrease the inches in those stubborn areas like your belly, arms, hips and legs of the ladies without losing muscles. Supplements – the right kind will turn on your “fat burning genes”, which means faster fat loss with less effort. WHAT IS YOUR BEST & SAFEST SOLUTION?
