Sadly, I have some crappy genetics and gaining muscle and losing fat has always been an uphill battle for me. But I’ve never given up and in the process, I’ve learned everything there is to gaining muscle and losing fat, naturally. This also probably explains why I became an anti-aging, endocrinology doctor - which is the study of hormones. And I’ve coached professional and Olympic athletes, including lots of bodybuilders. So today, I’m here to pass on all of my wisdom, so you can learn from my mistakes. I’ve simplified the entire process of gaining muscle to 4 simple and clinically proven “ingredients”. 4 Primary Ingredients For Building Muscle Ingredient #1 - HORMONES Before anything can be said and done, you must have the right hormones for building muscle. They need to be optimized. We all have different genetics and please don’t compare yourself to someone else who might have great genetics and then think there’s something wrong with you. Just as someone who is a genius and has a high IQ, some people are just born with lots of muscle cells and the perfect hormones for building muscle and losing fat. If you don’t optimize your hormones, anything else you do will NOT work and it’ll be a waste of effort, time and money. In fact, the right hormonal environment will make you grow muscle without doing anything - no exercise, diets or supplements. And, this is exactly what happens when you hit puberty and all of a sudden you start getting muscular, leaner, more aggressive, hornier, etc. It’s ALL about the hormones. But let’s move on to the second most important ingredient and that’s EXERCISE Ingredient #2 - EXERCISE In order for muscle to grow, it FIRST needs to be “stimulated” and that requires exercise. The correct form of exercise ALSO produces important hormones and growth factors, that will build muscle. And in order to do this, you need to lift weights. Now, this can be with dumbbells, barbells, cables, machines or your own bodyweight. It doesn’t matter. Okay, now that you’ve stimulated the muscle, have produced the right hormones, it’s time to FEED your muscles. Ingredient #2 - DIET If you don’t feed your muscles, the workouts will cause you to LOSE muscle. In fact, this is what happened to me when I first started. I thought I’d lift weights to make my muscles grow and then eat less food to lose fat. But all I did was get smaller and weaker. I was like anorexic. However, you don’t need that much extra food. Increase your calories by about 250-500 daily and see how you look and feel after a month. If you’re not getting fat, then good. If you are, lower the calories a little. This has to do with YOUR body, so listen to it, pay attention. As far as WHAT to eat. Okay… this is where all the confusion comes. Simple, easy and effective. Ingredient #4 - REST Now that you’ve stimulate and fed the muscle, you need to REST it. Just like a baby, you need your rest to grow. As far as sleep, get as much as you need. 9 Hormones That Lead to Weight Gain and Ways to Avoid It

How to Lose Weight without Workouts. You might think the only reason why you gain weight is overeating, but in fact it can also be the result of your hormones being all out of whack. Triggers like stress, age, genes, and poor lifestyle choices can cause a hormonal imbalance that leads to weight problems. To get the perfect body and keep it slim and slender, you have to follow our simple tips and keep 9 hormones under control. Thyroid hormones 0:45 The thyroid is a butterfly-shaped gland at the base of the neck. It produces the hormones T3, T4, and calcitonin, which are responsible for maintaining the body’s metabolism. If the thyroid doesn’t produce enough of these hormones, a condition called hypothyroidism, the result is often weight gain. To keep it under control, consume iodized salt (or seaweed if you’re on a low-salt diet). Avoid processed foods. Take vitamin D supplements. Consume foods rich in zinc like oysters and pumpkin seeds. Insulin 1:32 Overconsuming processed foods, unhealthy snacks, alcohol, or artificially sweetened drinks can cause the body to develop a resistance to insulin. This means that muscle cells won’t recognize glucose-bound insulin, so all that extra glucose remains in the bloodstream where it doesn’t belong. This causes a spike in blood sugar levels, leading to weight gain and Type 2 diabetes. To avoid it, consume lots of leafy greens and seasonal fruits and veggies. Eat foods full of omega-3 fatty acids. Drink at least a gallon of water every day. Exercise a minimum of 4 hours a week. Testosterone 3:45 Testosterone is often considered a strictly male hormone, but it’s produced in women too. It helps burn fat, strengthen the bones and muscles, and improve the libido. Age and high stress can cause a significant decrease in testosterone levels in women, leading to a loss of bone density and muscle mass. Work-out regularly and focus on muscle-building exercises. It helps boost testosterone levels. Avoid alcohol. Take protein supplements. Get enough fiber in your diet with the help of whole-grain foods, pumpkin seeds, and flaxseed. Leptin 6:39 Leptin is a hormone that keeps the body’s energy levels balanced by keeping hunger at bay. But when we eat food rich in sugar, the oversupply of fructose gets converted to fat that gets deposited in the liver, belly, and other regions of the body. It’s these very fat cells that secrete leptin. With high leptin levels, the brain stops receiving signals that the body doesn’t need to eat at a particular moment. Avoid sugary foods. Have no more than 3 servings of fruit per day. Consume dark green leafy veggies. Avoid processed food. Overconsuming processed foods, unhealthy snacks, alcohol, or artificially sweetened drinks can cause the body to develop a resistance to insulin. -The primary function of cortisol is to decrease stress levels by increasing blood sugar levels, among other things. Too much cortisol makes the body store more fat. -Age and high stress can cause a significant decrease in testosterone levels in women, leading to a loss of bone density and muscle mass. -Progesterone secretion can drop due to a variety of factors. This can result in weight gain and sagging skin. -When estrogen levels go up, the cells that produce insulin get stressed. This makes you resistant to insulin, which causes a rise in blood glucose levels and leads to weight gain. -When leptin levels go up, the brain stops receiving signals that the body doesn’t need to eat at a particular moment. -Ghrelin stimulates the appetite and increases fat deposition. -Melatonin is a hormone that regulates your natural sleep-wake cycle. If we don’t get proper sleep, this healing process gets disrupted, which causes stress and ultimately leads to inflammation-induced weight gain. -Getting enough sleep, keeping a nutritionally balanced diet, drinking plenty of water, getting at least some physical exercise, and avoiding or limiting stress will keep your hormones under control. Although they’re identified with a specific gender, both hormones are found in women and men. Women have more estrogen and men have more testosterone It's also the hormone that can be the most troublesome in the fat department At normal levels, estrogen actually helps keep you lean by increasing the production of insulin, a hormone that manages blood sugar. When estrogen gets thrown off, though, it turns you into a weight-gain machine. Xenoestrogens are fat-soluble and non-biodegradable in nature. Unfortunately, accumulating estrogen is not hard. We are constantly exposed to estrogen-like compounds since the major sources of these Xenoestrogens are pesticides, detergents, petroleum products, plastic products, cosmetics, etc. (1) Fat Gain The "thickening" of women's bodies and the "softening" of men's bodies are often related to excess estrogen. When in excess, estrogen promotes the growth of estrogen sensitive tissues, leading to an increased size of adipose (fat) tissues in the waist, belly and other estrogen sensitive fat tissues In men, fat accumulation is typically in the belly and chest; for women, in the belly, lower butt, upper thighs and sometimes in the back of the arms. In some cases, excess estrogen causes feminization of men's bodies with conditions such as genecomastia. Estrogen sensitive fat tissues are also called "stubborn fat" due to their high resistance to fat burning. Generally, not even diet or exercise can help remove this estrogen sensitive tenacious fat. Excess estrogen works in a vicious cycle. Estrogen promotes fat gain, and the enlarged fat tissue produces more estrogen within its cells, which then promotes more fat gain, and so on. Cortisol Back in the bad old hunter-gatherer days, the human species got a lot of use out of the hormone cortisol. That's the stress hormone activated during the fight-or-flight response, causing our blood pressure to rise and heart rate to increase. But in the modern world, there's little need to either fight or flee. Yet the cortisol release remains functional in the species, only now it's activated in response to the stressors of modern society (e.g., bad traffic, malfunctioning machinery, domestic discord) rather than natural perils or challenges to survival. Most Supplements Don’t Work First, most of these supplements don’t work anyway. AlphaViril works because it’s clinically proven and the focus isn’t “only” on increasing testosterone. The older we get, the more sensitive we become to side-effects. You Can’t Build Muscle Over 35 Without TRT!

For those who are not sure what that is, TRT is testosterone replacement therapy. Some would have you believe that seeing any kind of progress after a certain age is dependent on you resorting to synthetic means and shortcuts. That is simply not true. In this video, I’m going to tell you the real problem with making statements like this. Honestly, they have no impact on me personally, even when those statements expand into accusations that I achieve my look by using the same things. I can tell you that as a one hundred percent natural lifter my entire life, there is nothing more encouraging and rewarding than someone believing you use drugs to look the way you do. It is mind blowing actually, especially considering that fact that I used to train at home exclusively or pick odd hours to train at a gym so that I would not have to run into too many people since I already felt self conscious about my body and my strength. No, the real harm in these kind of statements, especially those made with such conviction, is that they do two incredibly bad things. First, they lower the bar on what is possible. Are you kidding me? No gains after the age of 35? Really? I bet you can think of 5 guys right away that look better after the age of 40 than they did in their 20’s and they have resorted to nothing but hard work, a commitment to training and most importantly, eating well. The second big thing is this “loser” and “quitter” mentality serves to discourage those on the fence from starting to dedicate themselves from improving their level of fitness. Think about it. If you are not committed to training and you are online looking for videos on how to get started and you run across that comment, you’re going to possibly be defeated before you even begin. You may think, it’s not in the cards for me either. He’s right. There is no hope for me since I’m not going to be able to take things like TRT so I can’t look good. What happens is this. The quitter, angry about his inability to commit (and refusing to look himself in the mirror and admit that his efforts have been anything but truly committed and stellar) wishes to drag others into his misery and disappointment. Nobody likes to fail alone. Always remember that. If they can find a way to discourage or disparage the achievements of others it somehow makes them feel better about themselves and their inability to achieve. I have to say, in almost every one of these instances, if I were to actually watch a workout performed by this type of individual it would not be anywhere near the level of effort needed to make change. If I were to analyze their nutrition for even a single day, it wouldn’t take me more than 4 seconds to identify exactly why they don’t have the level of body fat they are desiring. Unfortunately, you won’t get this information. The person who leaves these type of comments hides behind their own insecurities and never shares the real truth about why they have failed. But this is not you. You watch this channel because you want the best, most scientific, no nonsense advice on how to train like an athlete, eat like an athlete and look like an athlete 365 days a year without resorting to dangerous drugs or gimmicks. Her weight became better distributed. She found that if she wasn’t eating enough food, she wasn’t healing or gaining muscle or strength. It was then that she discovered that she was an under eater. When she began to increase her intake, she gained muscle. She also became more resilient and was thriving. 08:32 The Glute Journey: Dr. Moore saw a lot of patients with lumbar-pelvic pain in women. With her research into glutes, she realized that every one of them had atrophied glutes. When a patient lays on the table on their stomach, their sacrum should be in the middle and their glutes should rise like two mounds. The glutes of elderly people do not rise, and Dr. Moore was seeing this in many of her younger patients. Dr. Moore’s own lower back pain became lessened with glute work. She started with glute bridges and body weight squats. She tells everyone to hire a good trainer. 10:31 Hormones and Weights: A study of men with a body weight squat with a free weight barbell, compared to a leg press machine showed that over the release of testosterone and human growth hormone was more than 80% higher with the barbell. You can tweak your hormones by how you exercise. The compound movements, like the full squat puts a neural load on the whole system. 12:39 The Mindset of Weight Training: Cardio makes you better at cardio and you only receive the benefits while you are doing it. When you lift weights, you get after burn. 14:25 Hormones and Cardio: Dr. Moore sees gnarly changes in labs with runners. They tend to burn out their adrenals and then the rest of their hormones. She sees a number of runners and cyclists with diabetes. It comes down to skinny fat. You look thin, but metabolically you show up as pre-diabetic skinny fat. Being a thin diabetic is more dangerous than being a heavy diabetic. About 20% of our population is normal weight and metabolically obese. A study showed that type 2 diabetes starts with insulin resistant skeletal muscle in the leg tissue. Eighty percent of insulin latches to muscle tissue. The fastest way to get out of insulin resistance is to build muscle. The first thing your body does with the buildup of muscle is burn up the fat in your liver. 17:17 More Benefits of Strength Training: Dr. Moore began to see her thyroid antibody levels go down. Her testosterone and estrogen levels come up. Her blood sugar regulated better. It takes about 90 days of strength training for metabolic changes on labs and weight redistribution to come about. If we improve our diets at the same time, it happens more quickly. 19:01 Cardio vs Strength Training: Studies have shown that you need to do chronic cardio for 50 minutes a day 7 days a week and you may see 2 to 3 pounds of weight loss a month. Even that benefit drops off after a short time as your body adjusts to the exertion. Weight training is superior for reducing the prevalence of heart disease and diabetes. 21:41 Protecting Our Energy: We need to guard our energy, our thyroid, our adrenals and our hormones. Every food we eat and activity we do should be in support of these. Across the board, giving ourselves micro doses of the hormetic effect makes us stronger and harder to kill. 25:04 Abs vs Glutes: Dr. Moore asked her male friends which they preferred on a woman and they didn’t care about a 6 pack and a flat rear end. She sees many of her female patients who achieve the 6 pack abs, end up with trashed their hormones. Our abs are where we keep our estrogen. Her patients who have had a tummy tuck come in a few months later with trashed hormones. Our fat is an endocrine organ. 26:29 Your Glutes: Your spine comes down into your sacrum. If you focus on your gluteal strength, much of your body is worked in the process. You get the most benefit from posterior chain exercises, compound body movements, like deadlifts and squats. 29:15 Having a Little Fat is Protective: Dr. Moore experienced and often sees when people become very lean, their hormones tank. We feel better emotionally when we have a healthy bulk from lifting weights. 32:15 Fat is Burned in Mitochondria in Skeletal Muscles: The more muscle you have, the more fat you burn.

The answer is: It depends Let's have a look at what Human Growth Hormone actually is and how it can be used for its regenerative properties. What Is Human Growth Hormone? Human Growth Hormone, or HGH is a hormone that is secreted from the pituitary gland (located at the base of your brain,near the front). Growth hormone synthesis, production and regulation occurs in the hypothalamus-pituitary axis. This is an anabolic hormone; in other words it ‘promotes growth’. While this includes skeletal muscle, it’s certainly not limited to it. It’s worth noting that it is not androgenic, as opposed to testosterone, meaning it doesn’t promote male sex characteristics such as facial hair and deeper voice. The most prominent effect of this hormone is that it promotes bone growth and is the primary hormone responsible for growing to an adult size. In children, it’s largely responsible for determining height, and is modulated by several mechanisms. Secretion peaks during puberty, where the most bone growth occurs, and then declines with age (like most hormones). Along with bone growth, it promotes bone mineralization and calcium retention. Other functions include: Skeletal muscle proteins synthesis, specifically sarcomere hypertrophy Increase in lean body mass Fat breakdown (lipolysis) Protein synthesis elsewhere (not just muscle) Decrease cellular uptake of glucose Increased glucose synthesis (gluconeogenesis) Release of insulin-like growth factor 1 (will discuss separately) Growth of other organs Pancreas regulation Immune system stimulation Promotes thyroid activity
