It is proved that binaural beats can stimulate pituary gland (dr Hanns Uwe Pfaff in 2014 has created a big publication about influence on HPA. He mostly focused on cortisol regulation. This guy and some other researches show us too (you may find a lot more even on ncbi site etc.), that even placebo group may have some effects while using "fake", so like awkwardly done binaural beats, 3/4 worse effects than non-placebo group, but still (placebo can be also powerful eh). Binaural beats have influence as well on glial cells, so it is possible to produce hormones (also steroid hormones) in a few ways, by using it regulary. Also they have strong influence on our mind states (there are hauntingly published studies about it). Our mind states may have decisive influence on our sport results/achievments (sport psychology branch) as it is well known too (esp. if you train regulary its obvious). Here I answer questions that are posted in the comments section in my videos. Today’s question is from a previous video I made entitled, “Why Increasing Testosterone Can Be BAD For You, Unless You Do THIS!”. I’ll give you the link to watch the original video in a minute. So question that was posted is: “how can I increase my DHT for more muscle gains and beard growth?” Just a quick summary, DHT stands for DiHydroTestosterone. It’s produced from testosterone, through an enzyme called 5-Alpha Reductase. So the more 5a-Reductase enzyme you have, the more of your testosterone gets converted to DHT - which is also a male androgen. Both men and women have it, but men have it in higher amounts. However, DHT does NOT produce very much muscle size at all. The primary androgen/male hormone on skeletal muscle is testosterone, not DHT… And this is because DHT gets quickly deactivated at the muscle receptor by another enzyme called 3aHSD (3alpha-hydroxysteroid reductase)1-3 So, increasing your DHT will do nothing for increasing muscle size. It will increase strength because it stimulates your Central Nervous System (CNS) and also increases aggression. It will also make your muscles “harder” because it lowers estrogen levels.1-3 However, what DHT will do is increase body hair growth -- including facial hair and beard. But keep in mind that it will also accelerate hair loss if that’s part of your genetics. But if you still want to increase your DHT, you’ll need to ultimately increase your testosterone because the more testosterone you have, the more there is to “convert” to DHT. The rest is controlled by your genetics. Also, aging increases your 5a-reductase enzyme and thus, the older you get the higher your DHT levels. But unfortunately, the lower your testosterone. It can get a little complex, but I have great video about this topic that I want you to watch. You’ll discover IF you have low-testosterone and how you can increase it naturally. This is your anti-aging fountain of youth hormone that can help you live longer, look younger, and burn more belly fat. Now, if you're watching this, you're not familiar with me, I'm a 45-year-old stubborn fat expert. I'm a grandpa to three beautiful grandkids. I've been in the health and fitness industry over 20 years. I've taken a couple of my products to the online Top 10 bestseller list in the Clickbank marketplace. And over the last five years, I've helped over 100,000 people across the globe. So let's talk about growth hormone and how you can naturally increase growth hormone, just by manipulating a few things with your exercise and diet. The first one is to make sure that you're low in belly fat. So losing weight is probably the number one way to increase growth hormone, because research shows that the more belly fat, the more body fat or the more visceral fat that you have, the less likely you are to have optimal growth hormone levels. And conversely, people who are leaner, have higher growth hormone levels. So those belly fat first. The second one is intermittent fasting, which is very trendy in today's day and age. It's not for everybody. I believe the best protocol to follow is to fast for 12 to 16 hours four or five days of the week. So if your last meal was at 8 PM at night, the next day, you would break your fast between 8 AM noon. Now, if you are a male, you're going to get more benefits by waiting as close to noon as you can. If you're a female, you want to keep the window 12 to 14 hours, because your hormones are a lot different than men. And fasting over 14 hours could potentially be detrimental to your hormones. The other method to use with intermittent fasting is just called the cheat fast. So one day a week-- and it works best after a cheat day-- is to fast for 18 to 24 hours afterwards. You just consume water, tea, and coffee with no calories in it. And by doing this, studies have shown that your growth hormone will increase significantly. In fact, I was looking at a chart here. There's a study that showed that somebody who actually fasted for three days-- so a three day fast-- increased growth hormone levels by 300%. And after one week of fasting-- which I would obviously never recommend-- levels had increased by a massive 1,250%. So again, going back to the basics, 12 to 16 hours four or five days of the week is the easiest one to use, and the most healthy. And then a cheat fast for one time a week where you do 18 to 24 hours, can also be very effective. The next one is reduce sugar intake. Pretty obvious, but excessive sugar kills your growth hormone levels. The next one after that is don't eat directly before bed. When you eat directly before bed, it's not necessarily going to make you fat. But it does spike insulin. Insulin is your storage hormone. It's the antagonist to growth hormone. So when insulin levels are elevated, growth hormone levels are lower. Conversely, when you keep insulin stable or low for long periods of time, you'll see growth hormone levels rise. So by eating about two hours before bed, you allow insulin to stabilize after your last meal, allowing you to not only release more melatonin while you sleep, but to release more growth hormone. Speaking of melatonin, the next tip to increase your GH is to get seven to eight hours of sleep per night. People who sleep six hours or less, it only takes a couple of weeks before their cortisol levels skyrocket. Remember, when cortisol is elevated like that, it's going to be almost impossible for your body to produce adequate growth hormone levels. And the last and final method is to use high intensity exercise. And there's specific movement patterns that are done for specific durations at specific intensity levels that you can use to release up to 700% more growth hormone in only 12 minutes. Although they’re identified with a specific gender, both hormones are found in women and men. Women have more estrogen and men have more testosterone It's also the hormone that can be the most troublesome in the fat department At normal levels, estrogen actually helps keep you lean by increasing the production of insulin, a hormone that manages blood sugar. When estrogen gets thrown off, though, it turns you into a weight-gain machine. Xenoestrogens are fat-soluble and non-biodegradable in nature. Unfortunately, accumulating estrogen is not hard. We are constantly exposed to estrogen-like compounds since the major sources of these Xenoestrogens are pesticides, detergents, petroleum products, plastic products, cosmetics, etc. (1) Fat Gain The "thickening" of women's bodies and the "softening" of men's bodies are often related to excess estrogen. When in excess, estrogen promotes the growth of estrogen sensitive tissues, leading to an increased size of adipose (fat) tissues in the waist, belly and other estrogen sensitive fat tissues In men, fat accumulation is typically in the belly and chest; for women, in the belly, lower butt, upper thighs and sometimes in the back of the arms. In some cases, excess estrogen causes feminization of men's bodies with conditions such as genecomastia. Estrogen sensitive fat tissues are also called "stubborn fat" due to their high resistance to fat burning. Generally, not even diet or exercise can help remove this estrogen sensitive tenacious fat. Excess estrogen works in a vicious cycle. Estrogen promotes fat gain, and the enlarged fat tissue produces more estrogen within its cells, which then promotes more fat gain, and so on. Cortisol Back in the bad old hunter-gatherer days, the human species got a lot of use out of the hormone cortisol. That's the stress hormone activated during the fight-or-flight response, causing our blood pressure to rise and heart rate to increase. But in the modern world, there's little need to either fight or flee. Yet the cortisol release remains functional in the species, only now it's activated in response to the stressors of modern society (e.g., bad traffic, malfunctioning machinery, domestic discord) rather than natural perils or challenges to survival. Fat Gain Repeated elevation of cortisol can lead to weight gain in 3 ways: 1) One way is via visceral fat storage. Cortisol can mobilize triglycerides from storage and relocate them to visceral fat cells (those under the muscle, deep in the abdomen). Cortisol also aids adipocytes’ development into mature fat cells. The biochemical process at the cellular level has to do with enzyme control (11-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase), which converts cortisone to cortisol in adipose tissue. Split-style training has been a staple of the bodybuilding community for years. With splits, you can lift more volume per individual muscle groups, but you sacrifice frequency. Whole-body training involves less volume per body part per workout, but each muscle group gets worked more frequently. Frequency, as it turns out, is the way to go. Here are four reasons why I think you should switch to whole-body training. 1. Greater Fat Loss Research shows whole-body training can improve fat loss over typical split-style training. In one study, individuals who performed whole-body workouts three times per week lost more body fat than those who were following a typical split-style training program.[1] Whole-body training appears to influence fat loss through gene activation—my area of study while at Yale School of Medicine. Gene activation is critical for determining training outcomes, be it muscle growth or fat loss. Whole-body training instigates gene activity to keep metabolic processes revved up in every single muscle, an effect that lasts all day long. Your body essentially burns more fat and carbs for fuel throughout the day with whole-body training. 2. Greater Muscle Mass In the same study, the whole-body training group gained slightly more muscle mass than the split training group. One possible reason: Whole-body subjects showed improved testosterone-to-cortisol ratios. The higher your testosterone is and the lower your cortisol is, the more anabolic you are. Activating this ideal anabolic ratio through frequent whole-body training maximizes potential muscle-protein synthesis, leading to greater muscle growth. 3. Greater Strength When researchers split the subjects into groups of stronger individuals—those who could squat heavier—and weaker individuals, they found the stronger individuals in the whole-body training program had greater strength gains than the stronger individuals assigned to split-style training. This suggests advanced lifters may experience even greater benefits from using a whole-body training programs than their novice counterparts. This represents a sea change among exercise scientists, who used to recommend beginners use whole-body training because it allows more frequency for training the motor system and nervous system—the main changes a newbie sees in the first few weeks of training. Now it appears the greater frequency of whole-body training may be of greater benefit to experienced lifters seeking to improve their strength gains. 4. Greater Overall Health By activating genes in every muscle fiber every single day, whole-body training keeps metabolic processes firing, which plays a role in helping to prevent the onset of various metabolic diseases. But do you know what’s the cause of these two hormonal imbalances?... It’s the increase in FEMALE hormones, primarily estrogens and more specifically, estradiol. Sadly, as estrogen levels rise, so do the other female hormones such as prolactin and even progesterone in some cases. So why is this so bad and why does it happen? WHY Is Estrogen Bad? Well, as estrogen and female hormones go up, it signals your HPTA system (Hypothalamic Pituitary Testicular Axis), to produce LESS testosterone. A man’s body doesn’t like high estrogen… that’s more for women. Because of this, it has its own, internal “estrogen inhibitor” and that’s DHT - the HAIR LOSS hormone! I’m sure you’ve heard some guys being referred to as “short, fat… bald and hairy”, right? Well, the “short and fat” is from higher estrogen. The “bald and hairy” is from higher DHT. Yes, genetics plays a big role here, but our environment can make things much worse and speed up the negatives. WHY Does It Go Up? So why does estrogen go up? Well, there are lots of reasons… Unfortunately, due to modern society, there are lots of environmental, “external” reasons… Such as the foods we eat, plastics, chemicals found in everyday stuff, electronic devices and so forth. The good news is a lot of you can control, but unfortunately there’s just so many things that are out of our control or it’s just not convenient - like staying away from electronic devices. That’s not doable for most of us. Then there are “internal” reasons. Typically, as men age there is an increase in the “aromatase” enzyme, which converts testosterone to estrogen. Which explains why a man’s testosterone starts to drop in his mid 20’s and really falls in his 40’s and beyond. So, aging is a cause... Additionally, the higher your body fat, the higher your estrogen levels because your fat cells produce their own estrogen independently. And this turns into a negative cycle because the fatter you are, the more estrogen you produce… And the more estrogen you produce, the fatter you become! How Can You Lower Estrogen? It secretes chemicals called cytokines, which cause inflammation and increase diseases such as heart and diabetes,... and cancers such as colon, pancreas and so forth.1 So you MUST decrease and erase that belly fat - if not for health reasons, for vanity. And because this is such an important topic - I’m going to be turning this into a 4-part video series. This way, the information will be short, to the point and you can implement the solutions immediately, so you can start getting positive results quickly. And since belly fat tends to be more of a male problem, this first part will deal with the male hormone responsible for belly fat. Ironically, it’s the same problem for women … but it affects women later in life in their 30’s and especially once they start menopause.2-3 And the male hormone I’m speaking of is Testosterone. Remember that both men and women have testosterone, as well as estrogen and all the hormones. The only difference is the amount and ratios of these “sex” hormones. For example, men produce a lot more “male” hormones such as testosterone than women. While women produce a lot more “female” hormones such as estrogen, progesterone and prolactin. And for men, the primary cause of belly fat is lower testosterone… as well as, higher estrogen.3-5 Ironically, the higher your estrogen, the less testosterone your body produces.3-5 And you know what?... Fat cells is one the primary “estrogen” producers in the body.6 So the higher your belly fat, the higher your estrogen and the lower your testosterone. All of this means a negative cycle of more belly fat and worse hormonal imbalance… leading to even more belly fat, muscle loss, lower libido, depression and fatigue. And what’s worse is that aging causes a natural decrease in testosterone in both men and women, but especially in men and it starts in his mid 20’s.3-5 By age 40, his producing 40% LESS testosterone and other “male” hormones.7 On the flip side, he’s also producing MORE female hormones. Again, it’s a horrible cycle. So if you’re wondering why you can’t lose the belly fat … or you’re losing muscle … or you have lowered libido - it’s NOT your fault. It’s a hormonal imbalance.
