Arm POSITION Matters In Taking Blood Pressure

08:16
https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2004/01/040108075421.htm The above link explains the testing done by the University Of San Diego School Of Medicine to determine that placing the arm in the perpendicular position from the body is the proper position for taking a blood pressure reading. The proper method for taking a blood pressure reading is to sit in a comfortable chair with your back resting against the back of the chair. Place both feet on the floor. Do not cross your legs. Relax for about 3 to 5 minutes before taking the blood pressure reading. Place the cuff about 1/2 inch above the bend in the elbow which is called the antecubital space. The tubing should be at the lower end of the cuff and it should be in direct alignment with the bend in the elbow. Make sure the cuff size is the proper size for the arm of the person. There are small, medium, and large cuff sizes. Most doctors want to see your blood pressure for systolic at 120 or below. They consider anything between 120 and 140 to be pre-hytension. Anything over 140 is considered hypertension or high blood pressure. The diastolic pressure or the bottom number is considered to be within normal limits if it is below 80. Anywhere around 50 to 80. If the bottom number or the diastolic pressure is 90 or above, then that would be considered hypertensive. Placing the arm in the perpendicular position to your torso gives you a more accurate reading according to the research by the Medical School at San Diego State University. From this research one should not place their arm in a parallel position, or dangle their arm downwards. The arm should also be placed on a table at the height or the same level as the heart.

The Doctor is Wrong!! How to take your Blood Pressure accurately

03:42
The Doctor is Wrong!! How to take your Blood Pressure. Blood pressure measurement is not adequately performed at the doctors office. You are taken in by the nurse to a room. You are being asked questions and your blood pressure is being taken by the one size fits all BP cuff all at the same time. And that my friends is your blood pressure that the doctor would use to decide about your future health. But this is so far from ideal. The proper standard method is that the patient is to be seated in chair for 5 min with legs supported and arms supported, with short sleeves which are lose and not tight. Not having smoked recently and no Talking! Then Have to ensure that the cuff fits correctly not too lose and not too tight; 2 readings are taken i2 min apart and then you take an average and that should be your blood pressure. How to improve your health with the right sleeping position - right and wrong sleeping posture

How to improve your health with the right sleeping position - the 5 most common sleeping positions and meaning for your health. Suffering from hair loss? Check https://endhairloss.eu Do you know what is the best sleeping position? Other important videos from our channel: -- Hair Loss and Diet: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vuxnvk96Igg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cCLw0D4_2DU -- Castor oil and Hair Loss: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=huX0Dn3RZJE https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IMNOnqUm_Jc -- Onion and Hair Loss: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BvcF4pPGrUI https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wtPvhIocZxs -- Biotin and Hair Loss: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lop9cLiNzVw Did you know that our nightly sleeping posture can make an impact on our health and how we feel. Some of the sleeping postures may be bad. If so, new sleeping patterns should be considered. Among the following, what is your preferred position? 1. The Fetal Position This is one of the most common sleeping posture, and around 40% of people claim that they find it most comfortable. The bad news is that this position is unfortunately the unhealthiest. It causes backaches and does harm to joints. Experts warn that it can affect also your neck and shoulders. During the night they should be aligned. If you cannot avoid sleeping in the fetus position, doctors recommend you should put a pillow between the knees. In such way you’ll alleviate stress on your joints. 2. On Your Back Those who prefer to sleep on their back have a tendency to snore at night, BUT on the other side this posture is the most beneficial of all. It is particularly good if you have back problems, and it will also resolve neck issues. We sometimes speculate why we feel pain in the back on neck without even realizing that the main reason could be our sleeping position. Sleep on your back if you want to look younger for longer. This position causes fewer fine lines and wrinkles, because there is no pressing on your face. Moreover, this posture allows you to keep the breasts supported, which prevents sagging. 3. Left Side The left side position not only does it reduce acid reflux, but it can also prevent neck and back pains. There’s a disadvantage, though – it is not the best posture for the breasts. The breasts are not supported, which leads to sagging. Since the left side posture stimulates blood circulation to the uterus, it is great for pregnant women. 4. Right Side The right side posture may cause heartburn. On the other hand, this position is similar to the last one – they both are good for people suffering from back or neck issues. Unfortunately, also this position causes sagging breasts and wrinkles. 5. On Your Stomach Many doctors agree on the fact that there is nothing as bad as sleeping on your stomach. This position causes different health problems and should be absolutely avoided. If this is your preferred posture, do not be surprised if you find out that something is wrong with your back. Sleeping in this way, during the night you put too much pressure on your joints and muscles. Consequently, you may feel numbness and pain. Sleeping on your stomach, you keep your neck in a rotated position for too long. If this is done regularly, then you will have bad blood circulation and problems in breathing. The only good thing about sleeping on your belly is that you are unlikely to snore at night and disturb whoever is sleeping by your side. In conclusion, we know that, regardless of health benefits, people sleep in the position they find comfiest. If you can, try to correct your posture, now that you know the pro and the cons of each position. If you realize you need to change something in your posture, it will probably be challenging in the beginning, to sleep in a position that is not the one you are used to. However, over time, you will become more comfortable. Hope this video was useful for you to find out for yourself what is the best sleep posture. Subscribe to our channel for more videos like this!

♥ What’s The Best Sleep Position For Better Blood Flow and Circulation

02:38
How to quickly improve your blood flow and circulation in 30 days or less, naturally! ►♥ http://drsam.co/yt/BetterBloodFlow ======================================= What’s The Best Sleep Position For Better Blood Flow & Circulation? ======================================= Most people when they get into bed, they don’t give much thought about their sleep position. They pick whatever they’re most comfortable with. Besides, most people toss and turn throughout the night, so however you may start, usually won’t be the same as when you wake up. For me, I almost always sleep on my back. Sleeping on my stomach hurts my lower back and neck. Sleeping on my sides hurts my shoulders. So, I have no choice. But if you’re concerned about improving your blood flow and circulation, especially to your heart, then the best position to sleep on is your LEFT side. This is because when your heart pumps blood out to your body, it gets circulated and then flows back to your right side of your heart. But if you sleep on your right side, the pressure of your body smashes up against the blood vessels and makes it more difficult to get the blood back to your heart. Basically, it’s more work for your heart. If you’re older, or have a weak heart or plaque buildup your arteries, then this really puts a lot more pressure and stress and could result in a heart attack or stroke while sleeping. This is also why pregnant women are told to sleep on their left side. The baby is taking up room and is pushing the mom’s organs upward, so there is less space. The mother’s heart is already working harder during the pregnancy. So sleeping on the right side, where there is already less space and extra pressure from the organs being smashed together because of the baby, could hinder blood flow to the mom’s heart, as well as the baby’s. And if you’re going to sleep on your side, you may consider using a body pillow for extra support and comfort. Your Blood Pressure According To Your Age

03:58
Your Blood Pressure According To Your Age Please SUBSCRIBE : http://bit.ly/2e9Su11 It is extremely important to regulate the blood pressure, as it can be a real life threat, and damage various vital body functions. In the case of older people, if left untreated, high blood pressure may cause various severe consequences. However, a study conducted on more than 2, 000 seniors, and published in the Archives of Internal Medicine, found some interesting facts. Blood pressure affects the function of the kidneys, arteries, and the entire body. If not regulated on time, it causes great damage to the arteries, and the other body organs, leading to heart attack, kidney failure, heart failure, and numerous other health problems. This is the reason why numerous doctors decide to treat hypertension with an aggressive approach in order to lower high blood pressure. Yet, we will dedicate our time today on recommending how t control blood pressure, as the methods should not be the same in the fifth and the eighth decade of life, for example, as it would be adequate. In general, health providers tend to chart the changes in blood pressure and start following their results since they are 20. The AHA (American Heart Association) asks youngsters to regularly screen their blood pressure at their healthcare visit. This happens once in a few years and applies to people whose blood pressure is less than 120/80 mm Hg. Yet, blood pressure rises with heart beats and falls down between the beats. It is also affected by stress, sleep, posture, and physical activity. Yet, despite all these changes, the blood pressure should be lower than 120/80 mm Hg (which is less than 120 systolic and less than 80 diastolic). Sadly, 1 in 3 American adults suffers from high blood pressure. In this case, doctors read the blood pressure over time, or may advise a monitoring at home, before they diagnose high blood pressure. This is due to the fact that it does not mean that you have a high blood pressure just because you have a single high reading. Yet, if it is the case, and your readings remain to show values of 140/90 mm Hg or above (systolic 140 or above OR diastolic 90 or above) over time, you will be advised to start treating the issue, and almost all therapies include lifestyle changes, prescription drugs, and diets. To be sure your results are correct, if the systolic value is 180 mm Hg or higher and your diastolic value is 110 mm Hg or higher when monitoring, you should repeat the procedure after several minutes. If the second results are the same, you should seek medical help. Finally, even if your blood pressure is normal, regarding its importance for your overall heath, you should control it and maintain its normal values, in order to support your heart health. This may include healthy lifestyle habits and dietary changes. ================================= blood pressure, high blood pressure, blood pressure chart, normal blood pressure, hypertension, low blood pressure, high blood pressure symptoms, how to lower blood pressure, blood pressure range, blood pressure monitor, what is normal blood pressure, what is high blood pressure, high blood pressure diet, blood pressure medication, causes of high blood pressure, high blood pressure chart, symptoms of high blood pressure, normal blood pressure range, low blood pressure symptoms Please SUBSCRIBE : http://bit.ly/2e9Su11

10 Yoga Asanas That Will Help Lower High Blood Pressure

06:21
High blood pressure or hypertension is a serious condition identified by increased pressure in the arteries, the vessels that carry blood from the heart to the rest of the body. This pressure can damage the heart, lungs, liver, and kidneys. Here are 10 best yoga asanas that will help lower high blood pressure. Baddha Konasana - Butterfly Pose Badhakonasana is also popularly known as the Butterfly Pose because of the movement of the legs during the posture, giving the appearance of a butterfly flapping its wings. Targeting primarily the legs, it is the perfect antidote to relax and stretch the muscles of the legs. This yoga pose will relax your body, mind and soul that will comfort your tired feet. Adho Mukha Svanasana - Downward Facing Dog Adho Mukha Svanasana posture replicates a dog bending forward, hence the name downward facing dog pose. This asana can be practiced by any beginner too and with all its benefits, one should include it as a part of daily yoga practice. It is a standing pose and mild inversion that builds strength while stretching the whole body. Uttanasana - Intense Forward Bending Pose The name Uttanasana (Uth-thA-nA-suh-nuh), known as the Standing Forward bend Pose, is derived from the Sanskrit words Ut (meaning intense), Tan (meaning stretch), and Asana (meaning posture). The end pose leaves in such a position that your head is in a lower stratum than your heart. This enables a gush of blood to the head, revamping the blood cells, leaving you with a sense of novelty. Setu Bandhasana - Bridge Pose In sanskrit ‘Bridge’ means ‘Setu’, ‘Bandha’ means ‘Lock’ and ‘Asana’ means ‘Pose’. The poses look like the shape of the bridge, so this pose is called as bridge pose. This rejuvenating backbend will open your chest up and keep your spine flexible. Setu Bandhasana will also help to prepare you for more intense backbends. Basically this pose is effective in relaxing the body and reducing stress. Sukhasana - Easy Pose Sukhasana, Easy Pose is an asana practised in yoga. Sukh means Pleasure and asana means pose; pronounced As – soo-kah-sah-nah. This pose is best-suited for meditation for both beginners and advanced practitioners. Sukhasana comes from the Sanskrit word Sukham that means easy, pleasure, comfort, and pleasure. People of all ages can do this asana. Paschimottanasana - Forward Bend Pose Paschimottanasana or the Seated Forward Bend pose is a ‘forward bend asana. Paschimottanasana is also known as the Intense Dorsal Stretch pose as it engages the dorsal muscles of the back. “Paschima” means your “back” and “Uttana” means “stretching“. This asana covers the stretching of the whole body from head to heels so it is called as Paschimottanasna. Ardha Matsyendrasana - Sitting Half Spinal Twist Ardha Matsyendrasana usually appears as a seated spinal twist with many variations, and is one of the twelve basic asanas in many systems of Hatha Yoga. This is one of the few poses in the Basic Session that rotates the spine. Most bend the spinal column either backward or forward, but to become truly flexible it must be twisted laterally as well. The movement also tones the spinal nerves and ligaments, and improves the digestion. Halasana - Plow Pose Hala means Plow and Asana means Pose. So it is also named as plow pose. Halasana rejuvenate the inner parts of your body and make it healthy again. This pose gives flexibility to spine as well as strengthens the back muscles. Halasana is one of advanced yoga pose, simple to practice and contains lots of benefits. If you practice halasana regularly then you completely avoid lifestyle diseases like diabetes, obesity, constipation, stomach disorders, blood pressure and menstrual disorders. Janusirsasana - One legged Forward Bend Janu Sirsasana or the Head to Knee Pose is an excellent asana to increase flexibility of the hamstring muscles, back, thighs, hip joints, arms and the shoulders. Janu Sirsasana also soothes the mind and calms the heart. Janu Sirsasana should ideally be performed when the stomach is empty. It is a great stretching exercise for the whole body. The Janu Sirsasana is a part of the primary series of Ashtanga Yoga. It is a seated asana, and it gets it name from the fact that the head touches the knee in the full expression of this pose. This asana is also called the Head-to-Knee Pose. Balasana - Child's Pose This asana gets its name from the Sanskrit words 'bala' that means child and 'asana' that means pose. What Cause Low Blood Pressure

08:49
What Cause Low Blood Pressure Hypotension is low blood pressure. Your blood pushes against your arteries with each heartbeat. And the pushing of the blood against the artery walls is called blood pressure. Low blood pressure is good in most cases. But low blood pressure can sometimes make you feel tired or dizzy. In those cases, hypotension can be a sign of an underlying condition that should be treated. Blood pressure is measured when your heart beats, and in the periods of rest between heartbeats. The measurement of your blood pumping through your arteries when the ventricles of the heart squeeze is called systolic pressure or systole. The measurement for the periods of rest is called diastolic pressure, or diastole. Systole supplies your body with blood, and diastole supplies your heart with blood by filling the coronary arteries. Blood pressure is written with the systolic number above the diastolic number. Hypotension in adults is defined as blood pressure of 90/60 or lower. What causes hypotension? Everyone’s blood pressure drops at one time or another. And it often doesn’t cause any noticeable symptoms. Certain conditions can cause prolonged periods of hypotension that can become dangerous if left untreated. These conditions include: pregnancy, due to an increase in demand for blood from both mother and the growing fetus large amounts of blood loss through injury impaired circulation caused by heart attacks or faulty heart valves weakness and a state of shock that sometimes accompanies dehydration anaphylactic shock, a severe form of allergic reaction infections of the bloodstream endocrine disorders such as diabetes, adrenal insufficiency, and thyroid disease Medications might also cause a drop in blood pressure. Beta-blockers and nitroglycerin, used to treat heart disease, are common culprits. Diuretics, tricyclic antidepressants, and erectile dysfunction drugs can also cause hypotension. Some people have low blood pressure for unknown reasons. This form of hypotension, called chronic asymptomatic hypotension, isn’t usually harmful. Types of hypotension Hypotension is divided into several different classifications according to when your blood pressure drops. Orthostatic Orthostatic hypotension is the drop in blood pressure that occurs when you transition from sitting or lying down to standing. It is common in people of all ages. As the body adjusts to the position change there may be a brief period of dizziness. This is what some people refer to as “seeing stars” when they get up. Postprandial Postprandial hypotension is a drop in blood pressure that occurs right after eating. It is a type of orthostatic hypotension. Older adults, especially those with Parkinson’s disease, are more likely to develop postprandial hypotension. Neurally mediated Neurally mediated hypotension happens after you stand for a long time. Children experience this form of hypotension more often than adults. Emotionally upsetting events can also cause this drop in blood pressure. Severe Severe hypotension is related to shock. Shock occurs when your organs do not get the blood and oxygen they need to function properly. Severe hypotension can be life-threatening if not treated promptly. Hypotension symptoms People with hypotension may experience unpleasant symptoms when their blood pressure drops below 90/60. Symptoms of hypotension can include: fatigue lightheadedness dizziness nausea clammy skin depression loss of consciousness blurry vision Symptoms can range in severity. Some people may be slightly uncomfortable, while others may feel quite ill. Treatment for hypotension Your treatment will depend on the underlying cause of your hypotension. Treatment could include medications for heart disease, diabetes, or infection. Drink plenty of water to avoid hypotension due to dehydration, especially if you are vomiting or have diarrhea. Staying hydrated can also help treat and prevent the symptoms of neurally mediated hypotension. If you suffer from low blood pressure when standing for long periods, be sure to take a break to sit down. And try to reduce your stress levels to avoid emotional trauma. Treat orthostatic hypotension with slow, gradual movements. Instead of standing up quickly, work your way into a sitting or standing position using small movements. You can also avoid orthostatic hypotension by not crossing your legs when you sit. Shock-induced hypotension is the most serious form of the condition. Severe hypotension must be treated immediately. Emergency personnel will give you fluids and possibly blood products to increase your blood pressure and stabilize your vital signs. How Blood Pressure Works Animation - Understanding Blood Pressure Measurement Monitor Readings Video

01:44
Normal blood pressure is important for proper blood flow to the body’s organs and tissues. The force of the blood on the walls of the arteries is called blood pressure. Blood pressure is measured both as the heart contracts, which is called systole, and as it relaxes, which is called diastole. Normal blood pressure is considered to be a systolic blood pressure of 115 millimeters of mercury a diastolic pressure of 70 millimeters of mercury (stated as "115 over 70"). If an individual were to have a consistent blood pressure reading of 140 over 90, he would be evaluated for having high blood pressure. If left untreated, high blood pressure can damage important organs, such as the brain and kidneys, as well as lead to a stroke. High blood pressure is a common disease in which blood flows through blood vessels (arteries) at higher than normal pressures. Measuring Blood Pressure Blood pressure is the force of blood pushing against the walls of the arteries as the heart pumps blood. High blood pressure, sometimes called hypertension, happens when this force is too high. Health care workers check blood pressure readings the same way for children, teens, and adults. They use a gauge, stethoscope or electronic sensor, and a blood pressure cuff. With this equipment, they measure: Systolic Pressure: blood pressure when the heart beats while pumping blood Diastolic Pressure: blood pressure when the heart is at rest between beats Health care workers write blood pressure numbers with the systolic number above the diastolic number. For example: 118/76 mmHg People read "118 over 76" millimeters of mercury. Normal Blood Pressure: Normal blood pressure for adults is defined as a systolic pressure below 120 mmHg and a diastolic pressure below 80 mmHg. It is normal for blood pressures to change when you sleep, wake up, or are excited or nervous. When you are active, it is normal for your blood pressure to increase. However, once the activity stops, your blood pressure returns to your normal baseline range. Blood pressure normally rises with age and body size. Newborn babies often have very low blood pressure numbers that are considered normal for babies, while older teens have numbers similar to adults. Abnormal Blood Pressure Abnormal increases in blood pressure are defined as having blood pressures higher than 120/80 mmHg. The following table outlines and defines high blood pressure severity levels. The ranges in the table are blood pressure guides for adults who do not have any short-term serious illnesses. People with diabetes or chronic kidney disease should keep their blood pressure below 130/80 mmHg. Although blood pressure increases seen in prehypertension are less than those used to diagnose high blood pressure, prehypertension can progress to high blood pressure and should be taken seriously. Over time, consistently high blood pressure weakens and damages your blood vessels, which can lead to complications. Types of High Blood Pressure There are two main types of high blood pressure: primary and secondary high blood pressure. Primary High Blood Pressure Primary, or essential, high blood pressure is the most common type of high blood pressure. This type of high blood pressure tends to develop over years as a person ages. Secondary High Blood Pressure Secondary high blood pressure is caused by another medical condition or use of certain medicines. This type usually resolves after the cause is treated or removed. Blood pressure (BP) is the pressure exerted by circulating blood upon the walls of blood vessels. When used without further specification, "blood pressure" usually refers to the arterial pressure in the systemic circulation. It is usually measured at a person's upper arm. Blood pressure is usually expressed in terms of the systolic (maximum) pressure over diastolic (minimum) pressure and is measured in millimeters of mercury (mm Hg). It is one of the vital signs along with respiratory rate, heart rate, oxygen saturation, and body temperature. Normal resting blood pressure in an adult is approximately 120/80 mm Hg. Blood pressure varies depending on situation, activity, and disease states. It is regulated by the nervous and endocrine systems. Blood pressure that is low due to a disease state is called hypotension, and pressure that is consistently high is hypertension. Both have many causes which can range from mild to severe. Both may be of sudden onset or of long duration. Long term hypertension is a risk factor for many diseases, including kidney failure, heart disease, and stroke. Long term hypertension is more common than long term hypotension in Western countries. Long term hypertension often goes undetected because of infrequent monitoring and the absence of symptoms. Physiology: During each heartbeat, blood pressure varies between a maximum (systolic) and a minimum (diastolic) pressure. Q. What blood pressure should I have? What is normal blood pressure?

Key Signs and Symptoms of Low Blood Pressure

08:12
Key Signs and Symptoms of Low Blood Pressure People frequently talk about high blood pressure, as it can lead to heart attacks, strokes and kidney failure. But low blood pressure, also known as hypotension, can also cause damage to your body. While a blood pressure reading of 140/90 mm Hg or above is considered high, a reading of less than 90/60 mm Hg is considered low. Everyone’s blood pressure drops at one time or another and doesn’t cause any noticeable symptoms. For instance, the transition from sitting or lying down to standing can cause a drop in blood pressure. Some people may experience low blood pressure right after eating or from prolonged standing. However, certain conditions can cause prolonged periods of hypotension that can be bad for your health. Such conditions include pregnancy, significant blood loss due to an injury, poor circulation caused by a heart condition, weakness that accompanies dehydration, dieting to lose weight, anaphylactic shock, infections of the bloodstream and endocrine disorders, such as diabetes, adrenal insufficiency and thyroid disease. Certain medications like beta-blockers, diuretics, tricyclic antidepressants and erectile dysfunction drugs can also cause hypotension. A deficiency of the essential vitamins B12 and folic acid can cause anemia, which in turn can lead to low blood pressure. Having persistent low blood pressure is not good. If the blood pressure gets severely low, your body will not receive enough oxygen to carry out its normal functions. A decreased oxygen level can lead to impaired functioning of the heart and brain as well as cause difficulty breathing. In certain cases, people with low blood pressure can lose consciousness or go into shock (when the organs shut down). This makes it more important to be aware of the signs and symptoms of low blood pressure, so that timely treatment can be provided. Here are the key signs and symptoms of low blood pressure. 1. Dizziness or Light-Headedness. One of the key symptoms of low blood pressure is dizziness and light-headedness. Low blood pressure causes poor blood flow to the brain. This reduces the oxygen supply to the brain and makes you feel dizzy and light-headed. This is often associated with a sudden position change, such as standing too quickly after waking up in the morning. If your blood pressure is severely low, dizziness can cause fainting, too. 2. Fatigue. Low blood pressure can affect your energy level and cause fatigue. The flow of blood plays a key role in the production of energy, as it provides the body with oxygen and necessary nutrients. The mitochondria within the cells need nutrients for energy production. When there is a disruption in the blood flow due to a drop in blood pressure, it disrupts the energy creation process, which in turn causes fatigue and tiredness. Even sleep disruptions caused by this change in blood volume can add to your fatigue. Having super low energy is never a good sign, so see your doctor. 3. Rapid Heart Rate. If you experience a rapid heart rate or palpitation, it may be due to a drop in your blood pressure level. Poor blood flow to the heart causes it to contract irregularly. If the heart is not getting filled with the right amount of blood, it compensates by beating faster. It can also cause your pulse and breathing to speed up. You may even notice frequent changes in body temperature. When it comes to your heart, any abnormal change should be checked by your doctor. 4. Cold, Clammy Skin. Having cold, clammy and pale skin (not due to strenuous physical activity) could be another sign of low blood pressure, especially when accompanied by rapid heartbeat and shallow breathing. This happens when there is not enough blood circulating in your body due to a drop in blood pressure.
