♥ What’s The Best Sleep Position For Better Blood Flow and Circulation

02:38
How to quickly improve your blood flow and circulation in 30 days or less, naturally! ►♥ http://drsam.co/yt/BetterBloodFlow ======================================= What’s The Best Sleep Position For Better Blood Flow & Circulation? ======================================= Most people when they get into bed, they don’t give much thought about their sleep position. They pick whatever they’re most comfortable with. Besides, most people toss and turn throughout the night, so however you may start, usually won’t be the same as when you wake up. For me, I almost always sleep on my back. Sleeping on my stomach hurts my lower back and neck. Sleeping on my sides hurts my shoulders. So, I have no choice. But if you’re concerned about improving your blood flow and circulation, especially to your heart, then the best position to sleep on is your LEFT side. This is because when your heart pumps blood out to your body, it gets circulated and then flows back to your right side of your heart. But if you sleep on your right side, the pressure of your body smashes up against the blood vessels and makes it more difficult to get the blood back to your heart. Basically, it’s more work for your heart. If you’re older, or have a weak heart or plaque buildup your arteries, then this really puts a lot more pressure and stress and could result in a heart attack or stroke while sleeping. This is also why pregnant women are told to sleep on their left side. The baby is taking up room and is pushing the mom’s organs upward, so there is less space. The mother’s heart is already working harder during the pregnancy. So sleeping on the right side, where there is already less space and extra pressure from the organs being smashed together because of the baby, could hinder blood flow to the mom’s heart, as well as the baby’s. And if you’re going to sleep on your side, you may consider using a body pillow for extra support and comfort. How To Take A Blood Pressure Reading

01:59
How To Take A Blood Pressure Reading Most people have an idea of what a good blood pressure reading is. They know that 90/60 is low, and that 150/90 is high. A blood pressure range of 110-130 systolic and 65-75 diastolic generally is considered normal, although "normal" may vary from one individual to another. If you've been told by your doctor that your blood pressure isn't "normal," then it becomes very important to track your blood pressure often to make sure it stays in a healthy range. You can now take a blood pressure reading for free in many supermarkets and drug stores, but these readings will be of little value if they're not done properly. Home blood pressure monitors may require even more caution, depending on the quality of the monitor you've bought. No matter what kind of blood pressure monitor you choose, be sure to read the directions carefully. Additionally, it's generally recommended that you lie down or sit up so that your arm is roughly at the same level as your heart. You should fit the cuff around your arm approximately one inch above the elbow. The cuff should fit snugly, but not so tight that it cuts off circulation. But be sure it's not so loose that you get an inaccurate reading. Record the reading by writing down both the time and the date, along with which arm was used for the test. If you're using a manual blood pressure cuff--that is, one you have to inflate yourself--it will be critical to follow the manufacturer's directions. It's usually best to have someone else take the reading for you in this circumstance. Of course, you should also have a reading done by a medical professional as often as possible to make sure you're getting consistent results.

Your Blood Pressure According To Your Age

03:58
Your Blood Pressure According To Your Age Please SUBSCRIBE : http://bit.ly/2e9Su11 It is extremely important to regulate the blood pressure, as it can be a real life threat, and damage various vital body functions. In the case of older people, if left untreated, high blood pressure may cause various severe consequences. However, a study conducted on more than 2, 000 seniors, and published in the Archives of Internal Medicine, found some interesting facts. Blood pressure affects the function of the kidneys, arteries, and the entire body. If not regulated on time, it causes great damage to the arteries, and the other body organs, leading to heart attack, kidney failure, heart failure, and numerous other health problems. This is the reason why numerous doctors decide to treat hypertension with an aggressive approach in order to lower high blood pressure. Yet, we will dedicate our time today on recommending how t control blood pressure, as the methods should not be the same in the fifth and the eighth decade of life, for example, as it would be adequate. In general, health providers tend to chart the changes in blood pressure and start following their results since they are 20. The AHA (American Heart Association) asks youngsters to regularly screen their blood pressure at their healthcare visit. This happens once in a few years and applies to people whose blood pressure is less than 120/80 mm Hg. Yet, blood pressure rises with heart beats and falls down between the beats. It is also affected by stress, sleep, posture, and physical activity. Yet, despite all these changes, the blood pressure should be lower than 120/80 mm Hg (which is less than 120 systolic and less than 80 diastolic). Sadly, 1 in 3 American adults suffers from high blood pressure. In this case, doctors read the blood pressure over time, or may advise a monitoring at home, before they diagnose high blood pressure. This is due to the fact that it does not mean that you have a high blood pressure just because you have a single high reading. Yet, if it is the case, and your readings remain to show values of 140/90 mm Hg or above (systolic 140 or above OR diastolic 90 or above) over time, you will be advised to start treating the issue, and almost all therapies include lifestyle changes, prescription drugs, and diets. To be sure your results are correct, if the systolic value is 180 mm Hg or higher and your diastolic value is 110 mm Hg or higher when monitoring, you should repeat the procedure after several minutes. If the second results are the same, you should seek medical help. Finally, even if your blood pressure is normal, regarding its importance for your overall heath, you should control it and maintain its normal values, in order to support your heart health. This may include healthy lifestyle habits and dietary changes. ================================= blood pressure, high blood pressure, blood pressure chart, normal blood pressure, hypertension, low blood pressure, high blood pressure symptoms, how to lower blood pressure, blood pressure range, blood pressure monitor, what is normal blood pressure, what is high blood pressure, high blood pressure diet, blood pressure medication, causes of high blood pressure, high blood pressure chart, symptoms of high blood pressure, normal blood pressure range, low blood pressure symptoms Please SUBSCRIBE : http://bit.ly/2e9Su11

How Blood Pressure Works Animation - Understanding Blood Pressure Measurement Monitor Readings Video

01:44
Normal blood pressure is important for proper blood flow to the body’s organs and tissues. The force of the blood on the walls of the arteries is called blood pressure. Blood pressure is measured both as the heart contracts, which is called systole, and as it relaxes, which is called diastole. Normal blood pressure is considered to be a systolic blood pressure of 115 millimeters of mercury a diastolic pressure of 70 millimeters of mercury (stated as "115 over 70"). If an individual were to have a consistent blood pressure reading of 140 over 90, he would be evaluated for having high blood pressure. If left untreated, high blood pressure can damage important organs, such as the brain and kidneys, as well as lead to a stroke. High blood pressure is a common disease in which blood flows through blood vessels (arteries) at higher than normal pressures. Measuring Blood Pressure Blood pressure is the force of blood pushing against the walls of the arteries as the heart pumps blood. High blood pressure, sometimes called hypertension, happens when this force is too high. Health care workers check blood pressure readings the same way for children, teens, and adults. They use a gauge, stethoscope or electronic sensor, and a blood pressure cuff. With this equipment, they measure: Systolic Pressure: blood pressure when the heart beats while pumping blood Diastolic Pressure: blood pressure when the heart is at rest between beats Health care workers write blood pressure numbers with the systolic number above the diastolic number. For example: 118/76 mmHg People read "118 over 76" millimeters of mercury. Normal Blood Pressure: Normal blood pressure for adults is defined as a systolic pressure below 120 mmHg and a diastolic pressure below 80 mmHg. It is normal for blood pressures to change when you sleep, wake up, or are excited or nervous. When you are active, it is normal for your blood pressure to increase. However, once the activity stops, your blood pressure returns to your normal baseline range. Blood pressure normally rises with age and body size. Newborn babies often have very low blood pressure numbers that are considered normal for babies, while older teens have numbers similar to adults. Abnormal Blood Pressure Abnormal increases in blood pressure are defined as having blood pressures higher than 120/80 mmHg. The following table outlines and defines high blood pressure severity levels. The ranges in the table are blood pressure guides for adults who do not have any short-term serious illnesses. People with diabetes or chronic kidney disease should keep their blood pressure below 130/80 mmHg. Although blood pressure increases seen in prehypertension are less than those used to diagnose high blood pressure, prehypertension can progress to high blood pressure and should be taken seriously. Over time, consistently high blood pressure weakens and damages your blood vessels, which can lead to complications. Types of High Blood Pressure There are two main types of high blood pressure: primary and secondary high blood pressure. Primary High Blood Pressure Primary, or essential, high blood pressure is the most common type of high blood pressure. This type of high blood pressure tends to develop over years as a person ages. Secondary High Blood Pressure Secondary high blood pressure is caused by another medical condition or use of certain medicines. This type usually resolves after the cause is treated or removed. Blood pressure (BP) is the pressure exerted by circulating blood upon the walls of blood vessels. When used without further specification, "blood pressure" usually refers to the arterial pressure in the systemic circulation. It is usually measured at a person's upper arm. Blood pressure is usually expressed in terms of the systolic (maximum) pressure over diastolic (minimum) pressure and is measured in millimeters of mercury (mm Hg). It is one of the vital signs along with respiratory rate, heart rate, oxygen saturation, and body temperature. Normal resting blood pressure in an adult is approximately 120/80 mm Hg. Blood pressure varies depending on situation, activity, and disease states. It is regulated by the nervous and endocrine systems. Blood pressure that is low due to a disease state is called hypotension, and pressure that is consistently high is hypertension. Both have many causes which can range from mild to severe. Both may be of sudden onset or of long duration. Long term hypertension is a risk factor for many diseases, including kidney failure, heart disease, and stroke. Long term hypertension is more common than long term hypotension in Western countries. Long term hypertension often goes undetected because of infrequent monitoring and the absence of symptoms. Physiology: During each heartbeat, blood pressure varies between a maximum (systolic) and a minimum (diastolic) pressure. Q. What blood pressure should I have? What is normal blood pressure?

Baroreflex Regulation of Blood Pressure, Animation.

Baroreflex is a rapid negative feedback loop in which an elevated blood pressure causes heart rate and blood pressure to decrease. Reversely, a decrease in blood pressure leads to an increased heart rate, returning blood pressure to normal levels. The reflex starts with specialized neurons called baroreceptors. These are stretch receptors located in the wall of the aortic arch and carotid sinus. Increased blood pressure stretches the wall of the aorta and carotid arteries causing baroreceptors to fire action potentials at a higher than normal rate. These increased activities are sent via the vagus and glossopharyngeal nerves to the nucleus of the tractus solitarius – the NTS - in the brainstem. In response to increased baroreceptor impulses, the NTS activates the parasympathetic system – the PSNS - and inhibits the sympathetic system – the SNS. As the PSNS and SNS have opposing effects on blood pressures, PSNS activation and SNS inhibition work together in the same direction to maximize blood pressure reduction. Parasympathetic stimulation decreases heart rate by releasing acetylcholine which acts on the pacemaker cells of the SA node. Inhibition of the sympathetic division decreases heart rate, stroke volume and at the same time causes vasodilation of blood vessels. Together, these events rapidly bring DOWN blood pressure levels back to normal. When a person has a sudden drop in blood pressure, for example when standing up, the decreased blood pressure is sensed by baroreceptors as a decrease in tension. Baroreceptors fire at a lower than normal rate and the information is again transmitted to the NTS. The NTS reacts by inhibiting parasympathetic and activating sympathetic activities. The sympathetic system releases norepinephrine which acts on the SA node to increase heart rate; on cardiac myocytes to increase stroke volume and on smooth muscle cells of blood vessels to cause vasoconstriction. Together, these events rapidly bring UP blood pressure levels back to normal. Baroreflex is a short-term response to sudden changes of blood pressure resulted from everyday activities and emotional states. If hypertension or hypotension persists for a long period of time, the baroreceptors will reset to the “new normal” levels. In hypertensive patients for example, baroreflex mechanism is adjusted to a higher “normal” pressure and therefore MAINTAINS hypertension rather than suppresses it. How to improve your health with the right sleeping position - right and wrong sleeping posture

How to improve your health with the right sleeping position - the 5 most common sleeping positions and meaning for your health. Suffering from hair loss? Check https://endhairloss.eu Do you know what is the best sleeping position? Some of the sleeping postures may be bad. If so, new sleeping patterns should be considered. Among the following, what is your preferred position? 1. The Fetal Position This is one of the most common sleeping posture, and around 40% of people claim that they find it most comfortable. The bad news is that this position is unfortunately the unhealthiest. It causes backaches and does harm to joints. Experts warn that it can affect also your neck and shoulders. During the night they should be aligned. If you cannot avoid sleeping in the fetus position, doctors recommend you should put a pillow between the knees. In such way you’ll alleviate stress on your joints. 2. On Your Back Those who prefer to sleep on their back have a tendency to snore at night, BUT on the other side this posture is the most beneficial of all. It is particularly good if you have back problems, and it will also resolve neck issues. We sometimes speculate why we feel pain in the back on neck without even realizing that the main reason could be our sleeping position. Sleep on your back if you want to look younger for longer. This position causes fewer fine lines and wrinkles, because there is no pressing on your face. Moreover, this posture allows you to keep the breasts supported, which prevents sagging. 3. Left Side The left side position not only does it reduce acid reflux, but it can also prevent neck and back pains. There’s a disadvantage, though – it is not the best posture for the breasts. The breasts are not supported, which leads to sagging. Since the left side posture stimulates blood circulation to the uterus, it is great for pregnant women. 4. Right Side The right side posture may cause heartburn. On the other hand, this position is similar to the last one – they both are good for people suffering from back or neck issues. Unfortunately, also this position causes sagging breasts and wrinkles. 5. On Your Stomach Many doctors agree on the fact that there is nothing as bad as sleeping on your stomach. This position causes different health problems and should be absolutely avoided. If this is your preferred posture, do not be surprised if you find out that something is wrong with your back. Sleeping in this way, during the night you put too much pressure on your joints and muscles. Consequently, you may feel numbness and pain. Sleeping on your stomach, you keep your neck in a rotated position for too long. If this is done regularly, then you will have bad blood circulation and problems in breathing. The only good thing about sleeping on your belly is that you are unlikely to snore at night and disturb whoever is sleeping by your side. In conclusion, we know that, regardless of health benefits, people sleep in the position they find comfiest. If you can, try to correct your posture, now that you know the pro and the cons of each position. If you realize you need to change something in your posture, it will probably be challenging in the beginning, to sleep in a position that is not the one you are used to. However, over time, you will become more comfortable. Hope this video was useful for you to find out for yourself what is the best sleep posture. Subscribe to our channel for more videos like this!

High and Low Blood Pressure Symptoms and Precautions in Hindi

14:19
Dizziness While Exercising – All About Postural Blood Pressure

05:17
https://www.drlam.com/blog/dizziness-while-exercising-all-about-postural-blood-pressure/22264/ This is Dr. Lam from DrLam.com and the Adrenal Fatigue Center. Today we’re going to talk about a common problem that some people experience when they’re doing, for example, exercises that the head is not in the right position, leading to dizziness. Now, dizziness can be due to a variety of factors. Most commonly, when it is related to postural change, we call it postural blood pressure problems. Now, the body’s blood pressure is regulated in many ways through an automatic mechanism. When the body’s head is below a certain level, in order to get more blood to the brain, the body’s blood vessels automatically constrict and that is intended to bring more blood to the brain so you don’t faint. Now, when this mechanism is defective or not functioning well, then problems can arise. For example, you can feel dizzy. You can feel the room spinning. You can feel even nauseated. You can have headaches and in severe cases, you can faint. The first thing you have to do if you have this type of experience is to get yourself back to a situation where your head is level or above your heart so that your body has the ability to regain its composure. The medical workup including cardiac as well as neurological workup will include checking out your heart, making sure that your carotid blood vessels are okay, there’s no blockage. Make sure your heart is not having any arrhythmias that are causing the heart rate to be dysregulated during these situations. Make sure that your ears and your nose are okay so that you don’t have any postural changes that can affect your balance. Metabolically, you’re going to make sure that your sugar is not low beyond a certain point. If everything checks out, then chances are you’ll be told that this is posture related. There’s really not much you can do if that’s the case, if everything works out. In the case of adrenal fatigue, we do see some postural changes and oftentimes, this can be improved with increasing the vascular volume such as with more fluids as well as more salt. Regulating and normalizing blood pressure often can also be beneficial and helpful. As far as exercise, you have to moderate yourself. Oftentimes, when the body is in a state of adrenal fatigue, the fight or flight response can be activated and when this happens, dizziness can occur as well. There are many, many reasons and you want to make sure that there’s no conventional medical reasons that you cannot check out. If everything turns out to be normal, do look into adrenal fatigue because it is very common. The good news is that, oftentimes, these are spontaneously healing signs. As your body gets stronger, if it is indeed related to adrenal issues, then oftentimes it gets better by itself. Taking medications can have its place if the situation is severe and you don’t want to be in a fainting situation, which can be dangerous to yourself and others. Regulating blood pressure, etc. can be considered with conventional medication. The problem with this is that if you overregulate, you can be a little more dizzy and a little more calm and sometimes walk around like a zombie because you can be sedated in order to avoid these problems. At the same time, if you don’t look at the underlying problem and resolve it, then these masking medications can actually be detrimental and negative to your overall health over time because your problem underneath is really not resolved. If it’s a matter of simple insufficient salt or adrenal weakness, then there are simple ways you can do, from lifestyle, nutrition, and supplementation that can help with the adrenals and then the postural blood pressure changes can resolve. These are the first steps you should take. However, especially if you are older and you have a previous history of heart disease, then you need to see a doctor first and make sure there’s nothing else going on. In recent years, doctors have increasingly focused on the lifesaving benefits of lowering your systolic blood pressure. (That’s the top number. The bottom number, diastolic blood pressure, tends to fall naturally after age 55.) A landmark 2015 study showed that volunteers who lowered their systolic pressure to 120 mm Hg had a 25 percent lower risk of heart attack and a 43 percent lower risk of death from cardiovas¬cular causes compared with those whose systolic pressure was 140. Losing weight, eating less sodium, exercising more, and quitting smoking are among the best non-¬medicinal ways to reduce your systolic blood pressure substantially and for the long term. Your doctor might also prescribe medication. But if you need extra help reaching your goal, these lesser-known tricks can shave off a few points in the doctor’s office and beyond. In some cases, the effects will be temporary but will eliminate artificial inflation, making your readings more medically trustworthy. Next time a nurse tells you to hop up on the exam table so he or she can take your blood pressure, don’t. “When you’re sitting with your feet dangling, you’re almost between sitting and standing. This can affect your reading because your blood pressure is different when you’re standing versus lying down,” says Nieca Goldberg, MD, medical director of the Joan H. Tisch Center for Women’s Health at New York University Langone Medical Center. Instead, sit in a chair with your back flat against the chair back and your feet flat on the floor (no leg crossing allowed!). If your arm is too high or too low during your reading, your heart might have to pump harder to keep blood flowing, which can raise your blood pressure. “Your arm should be positioned at heart level and flat on a table or supported by the person taking your pressure,” says Dr. Goldberg. In a study of more than 21,000 adults in Japan (some with normal and some with high blood pressure), patients who took six deep breaths in 30 seconds while waiting to see a doctor saw a more than three-point drop in their systolic blood pressure compared with patients who rested for 30 seconds without deep breathing. Getting in the habit of a daily deep-breathing session can extend these effects. Other studies have found that patients who routinely practice slow breathing, some using an FDA-¬approved device called Desperate to guide them, had consistently lower blood pressure over an eight- or nine-week period. A very small 2014 study demonstrated that healthy adults who performed just 15 minutes of simple hand-grip exercises three times a week for ten weeks reduced their systolic pressure by almost ten points. You can find inexpensive hand grippers online or at your local sporting goods store. Diet plan to manage high BP - Ms. Sushma Jaiswal

03:38
Blood pressure or hypertension is a silent killer and it can go unnoticed if you don’t check it regularly and it can be dangerous. So diet recommendation would be to lower down your salt, sodium, alcohol, caffeine and to increase potassium, calcium, and magnesium. So the recommendation would be having whole cereals and legumes, fibre rich food which reduces weight to some extent. Having lean meat, low fat curd and meat products and having more fruits and vegetables including sprouts some dry fruits because some of the dry fruits are rich in vitamin E and others are rich in omega 3 fatty acids like walnuts and flax seeds. You have to do exercise as well. People who are having high BP should restrict their salt like 1 gram to 1.5 grams a day. Foods which are high in sodium or salt content or some of the commercial foods like pizzas, salty biscuits, cheese, pickles and chips etc. So if you restrict all of them it would be very much helpful because adding cheese and pickles to healthy food also will make sodium high. If you are taking alcohol on a regular basis then it affects the absorption of some medications effectively. Caffeine increases your blood pressure. So you have to restrict to only one cup a day or completely give up. Follow all these diet restrictions and be healthy. Having BP cervical yoga postures will help. There are few yoga postures which help in relieving the neck pain. There are few yoga poses which help in reducing the weight like kapalbhati. They would help in relieving the symptoms of high BP also. There are different therapies for anxiety. By treating the deficiencies and having a very healthy diet will help in all three conditions. So nutrition can be used as alternative therapy for all these conditions by dealing with the deficiencies. So you follow a very healthy diet and stay healthy.

High blood pressure, also known as hypertension, one of the most important contributors to heart disease and stroke. According to WHO- "Hyper-pressure contributes to nearly 9.4 million deaths due to heart disease and stroke every year and, together, these two diseases are the number one cause of death worldwide". And, hyper-tension also increases the risk of kidney failure, blindness and several other conditions. According to a new study presented at the "28th Annual Scientific Meeting", have shown that " yoga can lead to significant reductions in blood pressure, especially when used in addition with other lifestyle modifications". A high-sodium diet increases blood pressure in many people. In fact, the less sodium you eat, the better blood pressure control you might have. To lower the sodium in your diet, try these suggestions: 1. Use a food diary to keep track of the salt in the foods you eat. 2. Aim for less than 2,300 milligrams (about 1 teaspoon of salt) each day. Ask your doctor if you should go lower, to 1,500 milligrams. 3. Read the nutritional facts label on every food package. 4. Select foods that have 5% or less of the "Daily Value" of sodium. 5. Avoid foods that have 20% or more Daily Value of sodium. 6. Avoid canned foods, processed foods, lunch meats, and fast foods. 7. Use salt-free seasonings. BLOOD PRESSURE | LOW BLOOD PRESSURE SYMPTOMS AND TREATMENT IN URDU/HINDI

06:37
BLOOD PRESSURE | LOW BLOOD PRESSURE SYMPTOMS AND TREATMENT IN URDU/HINDI Low Blood Pressure When person’s Systolic pressure falls below normal then blood pressure also falls and when blood pressure falls below normal, less blood circulates to the vital organs of the body like heart, lungs and liver. This is referred as low blood pressure. The heart, which pumps blood into arteries, generates blood pressure; but less blood is supplied to the heart when a person is suffering from Low Blood Pressure leading to less amount of blood supply to all the parts of the body. When less blood is supplied to the important parts of the body kidney, lungs and brain they will not function normally and they might be temporarily or permanently damaged. The good news for people suffering from Low Blood pressure is that they tend to live longer than the people suffering from high or even normal blood pressure. Low Blood Pressure Symptoms: Most of the people with lower blood pressure don’t have any sudden symptoms. Some of the symptoms that can be taken into account are as follow: Patient feels lazy and weak. Light headache and temporary blindness Panic attacks Sudden change in heart beats and finding hard to breath Feeling lightheaded, dizzy, or even faint as less oxygen and nutrients and oxygen is supplied to brain as a result it stops responding. Suddenly standing up while sitting or lying. A sudden shock and this is also a most threatening symptom. Shock occurs because persistently low blood pressure causes organs to fail rapidly. Low Blood Pressure Causes: There are many causes of low blood pressure some of them are listed below. When sugar levels of a diabetes patient rises then blood pressure falls down to a critical point. Dehydration is the major cause of low blood pressure. Patients suffering from diseases like diarrhea and vomiting are likely to suffer from Low Blood Pressure as a lot of water is lost in diarrhea and vomiting. Bleeding also drops down the blood pressure level of the body. Weak heart muscle cause heart to pump the blood with less pressure thus it results in low blood pressure. A slow heart rate can also decrease the amount of the blood pumped by the heart. Excessive usage of alcohol also drops down the blood pressure of the body. Low Blood Pressure Cures: The best way to cure the Low Blood Pressure is to find the root cause of low blood pressure. It is always useful to consult the doctor but here we will mention little measure that can be taken into account. Drink as much water as possible because if low blood pressure is caused be dehydration then its only cure is to drink a lot water to pull the body back to the normal water level. Salt can also be used but don’t use it excessively because it can also increase the blood pressure. Eating food full of vitamins and proteins is also helpful. निम्न रक्तचाप Low Blood Pressure Health Benefits Hindi by Radhika Jain | Health Tips

05:02
Home Remedies to Low Blood Pressure निम्न रक्तचाप Radhika Jain Health Benefits of Blood Pressure Hindi by Radhika Jain Low blood pressure, also known as hypotension, is where blood pressure in your arteries is abnormally low. Naturally low blood pressure is unlikely to cause any symptoms and is normally nothing to worry about. But if your blood pressure drops too low, it can restrict the amount of blood flowing to your brain and other vital organs, which can cause unsteadiness, dizziness or fainting. See your GP if you experience any symptoms of low blood pressure and are concerned. All adults should have their blood pressure checked at least every five years. If you haven't had yours measured or don't know what your reading is, ask your GP to check it. Read more about the symptoms of low blood pressure. What is low blood pressure? The heart pumps a constant supply of blood around the body through arteries, veins and capillaries. Blood pressure is a measure of the force of the blood on the walls of the arteries as the blood flows through them. It's measured in millimetres of mercury (mmHg) and recorded as two measurements: systolic pressure – the pressure when your heart beats and squeezes blood into your arteries diastolic pressure – the pressure when your heart rests between beats For example, if your systolic blood pressure is 120mmHg and your diastolic blood pressure is 80mmHg, your blood pressure is 120 over 80, which is commonly written as 120/80. Normal blood pressure is between 90/60 and 140/90. If you have a reading of 140/90 or more, you have high blood pressure (hypertension). This puts you at greater risk of developing serious health conditions, such as heart attack or stroke. People with a blood pressure reading under 90/60 are usually regarded as having low blood pressure. Read more about diagnosing low blood pressure. Why do I have low blood pressure? You can have low blood pressure for many reasons, including the time of day, your age, the temperature, any medication you may be on, an injury, and some illnesses. Read more about the causes of low blood pressure. Treatment and self-help Naturally low blood pressure doesn't usually need to be treated unless it's causing symptoms such as dizziness or recurrent falls. If it's causing symptoms, your GP will look at what the cause might be in case it can be treated. There are also various things you can do to help limit symptoms of low blood pressure, including: standing up gradually and avoiding standing for long periods of time ensuring you are well hydrated wearing support stockings adding more salt to your diet eating smaller meals more often Watch the Video & Subscribe us for more health tips Click here to Subscribe our channel: https://goo.gl/EmbBFx Enjoy & stay connected with us!!
