Whether for the garden, for the apartment or simply as a creative craft project for the children, crafting with bottle caps certainly makes fun.
The little pieces of metal that close the bottles of refreshing beverages or beer are not part of the garbage, because many creative craftworks can be conjured. But what can you do with bottle caps? In fact, the ideas are particularly numerous. On the one hand, an interesting decoration can be made from bottle caps for both the home and the garden. On the other hand you can make really useful things for the household itself or spice existing furniture and accessories. Moreover, this material is perfect for beautiful children's clothing. In the following we would like to present some of the best ideas for crafting with crown caps. Let yourself be inspired!
Unusual garden decoration with crown caps
If you are looking for fancy garden decoration ideas for spring and summer, then you can use crown corks and make a creative decoration yourself. Windmills are particularly popular for the garden area, because they sound easy with the wind. Since crown caps are also made from sheet metal, playful wind games can be designed. For this project, a noodle sieve is required as a base, as well as several bending rings for the attachment of the individual bottle caps. A great design can be achieved with the same color, as with colored crown corks.
In addition to the windmill, you can also make your own little garden crockery with the small bottle caps and decorate the flower beds with a pretty decoration. The easiest way to make these beautiful flowers is to make them. Each flower consists of a total of seven crown corks, which are first painted and then glued together with hot glue. Finally, the finished flowers are attached to a wooden stick and put into the ground.
With a proper technique and a little creativity, you can create more complicated flowers than gardening tools with crown corks. For a nice effect the beer capsules are bent with a pliers and bent to interesting petals. For each garden plug you will need fifteen crown corks and a screw cap on which they are glued. To shape the flower first glue a round crown cork in the center of the lid with a strong glue. Then a total of twelve beer coasters are bent and glued around the middle one. The flower is then attached to the wooden stick and with the remaining two bottle caps are the leaves tinkered.
Creative magnets with bottle caps
A practical upcycling idea for the old bottle caps would be to turn them into pretty magnets. So, some magnets are no longer superfluous for the refrigerator and are always used when you want to make a note for the shopping list. The DIY magnets you can decorate as you like and even use as a small homemade gift. For this project, you will need bottle caps, colors or decoration, as well as small magnetic plates and super-glues.
You can make a crown-cork magnet in two ways. Either the magnet is glued to the bottom, or to the top of the crown cork. The decision depends on which side you can best decorate. Of course, you can also leave the beer-lid magnets just as you like the top. If not, you can either paint the top side or glue the bottom with a small piece of paper.
Here we would like to present a simple idea with instructions for ladybug magnets. This kit project is particularly popular with children and the resulting magnets are perfect for the magnetic wall in the children's room. All you need for the project are:
• Bottle corks
• Red spray paint
• Black nail polish or permanent marker
• Wobbly eyes
• hot glue
• Small round magnets
First spray the top of the beer cover with red spray paint and let it dry. Depending on the color and ornamentation of the crown cork you need several layers of the spray paint. The resulting color should be full and completely cover all the inscriptions and logos. Then the ladybug pattern is painted with black nail polish or marker on the dry crown corks. In the following, fix the wobbly eyes at the appropriate location. Finally, turn the crown caps, glue the magnets to the underside and allow them to dry. The Ladybugs are ready!
