Xanthelasma may be an early warning sign that cholesterol has started to build up in your blood vessels. Over time, it can form hard, sticky gunk called plaque in your arteries. This buildup is called atherosclerosis, and it can lead to heart disease, heart attack, or stroke. The growths may also be linked to other heart disease risks, like: FOLLOW US ON FACEBOOK www.facebook.com/tabkhat twitter www.twitter.com/miamolosiva source: http://www.webmd.com/eye-health/xanthelasma http://mrhealthyplanet.com

Natural Remedies to Shrink Cholesterol Deposits Around the Eyes! Natural Remedies Cholesterol deposit spots around the eyes are also known as xanthelasma, they are bumps of fat that develop underneath the skin usually in the inner corner of the upper eyelid. The main cause of xanthelasma is high kevels of LDL cholesterol in the body. Other causes include liver diseases, genetic factors and diabetes. People that are aged 40-60 years old, have cirrhosis, diabetics or have high cholesterol levels are at a higher risk of developing this problem than others. This problem doesn’t cause itchiness or irritation, but it could cause some vision problems if the bump has grown large enough. Because the affected area is usually near the eyes. Surgery is not the best treatment plan, the scar surgeries leave behind could be as annoying as the appearance of the fat sac itself. Laser treatment is another option but it still carried the risk of scarring. Here are some natural ways to get rid of cholesterol deposited around the eyes. 1- Garlic. Garlic when used externally or ingested can help flatten the fat bumps or even get rid of them completely. Garlic is a natural popular remedy to reduce cholesterol levels when taken raw regularly. A study published in the National Institute of Integrative Medicine 2013 suggest that garlic extract is a safe natural alternative to pharmaceutical cholesterol-lowering and high blood pressure lowering medications. Make sure to take at least two raw garlic cloves Daily with water. To apply topically, crush one clove of garlic into a paste and apply it to the affected area for 10 to 15 minutes at least twice a week. 2- Castor Oil. Castor oil is another effective remedy to shrink or minimize the appearance of xanthelasma, it contains recinoleic acid that showed efficiency in flattening the cholesterol bumps. However castor oil is more effective in the case of small bumps that newly appeared. You can apply a cotton ball soaked in cold-pressed pure castor oil on your affected eyelid for over night or at least 15 minutes twice a week. Or keep rubbing your affected lid with circular motion massage with castor oil frequent times a day. 3- Apple Cider Vinegar. If the cause for the cholesterol deposit bumps around your eyes is high cholesterol levels in your blood then apple cider vinegar is your best remedy. It helps to reduce LDL cholesterol levels by liquefying it and aiding the liver eliminating the cholesterol out of the body. Soak a cotton ball in apple cider vinegar and keep it in place using a tap or bandage for two hours then rinse with warm water. If your skin is sensitive, dilute the apple cider vinegar before applying it to your skin. 4- Banana Peels. To Remove the fat bumps around your eyes in a natural and safe way. Banana peels are effective and free of side effects. The antioxidants and enzymes in banana peels help to dissolve the cholesterol deposited under the skin as well as promote the cell repairment process in the skin. Cut a small price of banana peel the size of the fat deposits and place its inside part over the pumb, secure it with a tap or bandage overnight and in the morning rinse it with warm water. Removing Xanthelasma on the Upper and Lower Eyelids

08:27
This patient has Xanthelasma Palpebrarum (Xanthelasma, for short). It is the most common type of xanthoma, occurs on the upper and/or lower eyelids, and are described as soft, chamois colored or yellowish orange bumps. They tend to increase in number, can get larger over time, and are permanent unless they are surgically removed as you see here. It can be seen in people with high cholesterol levels, so when someone has such growths, we usually make sure that their cholesterol levels are normal and under control. Here I do what is called a "pinch excision". Eyelid skin is the thinnest skin on the entire body, and after local anesthesia, as long as there is some laxity in the skin, the areas to be removed can be grasped and lifted up with forceps and clipped off with very sharp scissors, as you see here. Then the edges are closed with suture. In fact, sometimes the areas are not sutured closed, but allowed to "heal secondarily" and the cosmetic result is often excellent. Unfortunately, complete removal of the lesions does not guarantee that a person won't develop new ones in the future. In this case, this lovely patient of mine has had removal of xanthomas by me in the past, quite a few years ago. She has had news ones come up, and returned for another removal session, and was so nice to allow me to record the surgery! Thank you for watching!! Cholesterol Deposits On Eyelids & Around Eyes- Xanthelasma

If you're looking for a simple, yet clinically proven way of quickly, safely and naturally lower your cholesterol, click the link below: ►►http://drsam.co/yt/LowerYourCholesterolNow =============================================== I’ve got these yellowish patches around my eyelids (see attached). My doctor said it’s something called Xanthelasma. I looked online and it’s basically “cholesterol deposits”, correct?... What’s the cause and how can I fix it because they look really ugly!!! =============================================== The correct medical term is called “Xanthelasma” and it’s basically cholesterol under your skin. And I’m familiar with this topic because my aunt’s husband used to get them and in a minute I’ll share with you how he permanently fixed it. The good news is that Xanthelasma aren’t physically harmful, but yeah… they don’t look “good” either. However, it’s typically a sign that you’re at a higher risk for heart disease, a heart attack or stroke. Why & Who And this is because people who get these “cholesterol deposits”, typically have high levels of cholesterol and an imbalance your lipid levels. These bad cholesterols cause blockage in some oil glands underneath the skin and results in hard little “pimples” (Xanthelasma), which cannot be squeezed. Additionally, elevated liver enzymes or liver disease, cause an increase in cholesterol leading to Xanthelasma. How To Fix & Treat It Unfortunately, these cholesterol deposits usually won’t go away on their own and typically will GROW over time. One way to fix it is to go to your doctor and have them removed with topical medicine, laser or surgery. Unfortunately, they can cause side-effects such as scars and skin color changes. However, this doesn’t prevent FUTURE growth or regrowth, especially due to your genetics and having high cholesterol levels. I mention this because as stated earlier, my aunt’s husband used to have Xanthelasma and even though we improved his diet, it didn’t fix this problem initially. And taking cholesterol lowering drugs actually made things even worse due to the liver stress and toxicity. What Did Work So, here’s how we finally got rid of the Xanthelasma. Before doing anything medical, I wanted to FIRST see if we can decrease the size of these cholesterol deposits. This way, there will be less potential for scarring. I made sure his diet was healthier. I removed all alcohol because of the liver stress and reduced any processed foods and sugars. He was already walking 2-3x weekly, but I had him increase it to daily walks I increased his water intake, which basically meant going from only 1-2 glasses to 4-6 cups daily. I had him take high dosages of specific herbs and vitamins to lower his cholesterol and bad lipids. While also cleansing and detoxing his liver. After 6 months, the size of these deposits were about ½ the size, which was great. But, they never got smaller. He then went to his dermatologist and used laser to remove what was left. Since they were smaller, there was no scarring. And because of his cleaner diet and continued use of supplements, his cholesterol is lower and has remained in a healthy range. Another important benefit is that his liver is healthier as well. And the best part is that these cholesterol deposits have NEVER come back and it’s been over 6 years. Excision of upper and lower xanthelasma

02:36
Although the books always say that lipids and cholesterol should be checked in patients with xanthelasmas, I think that I have yet to detect anyone who has markedly abnormal levels. Incorporating the upper lid excision into a blepharoplasty gives a nice result. There are some xanthogranulomatous diseases (e.g. Erdheim-Chester) that are associated with xanthelasmas, and I always keep that in mind in any patient with a xanthelasma. Usually the lesions associated with xanthogranulomatous disease look a little different than the typical xanthelasma. How To Get Rid of Milia at Home - Safe, Easy & Scar Free

02:43
You know those little white spots some people get around their eyes? It is a rash called milia that’s normally mistaken for zits or black heads. These little cysts are small and have a white or yellow coloring. As opposed to zits and blackheads, milia is hard and cannot be squeezed, due to the keratin inside them. It’s very common in newborn babies, but it can affect people of all ages. Normally these cysts are concentrated around the eyes, on the eyelids and cheeks, but they can appear anywhere on your body. The problem is that this rash could affect a person’s self-esteem, because these small cysts aren’t pleasant to look at. Some people pay to have complicated and very expensive surgeries to remove them. In this video we’ll talk about some completely natural recipes that will help remove and prevent these cysts from appearing on your face. 1. Honey Because it’s full of nutrients that are beneficial to our skin, honey is a great alternative. It helps hydrate and nourish your skin, as well as clearing up the rash. All you have to do is put some on the affected area several times a day. 2. Tea tree essential oil This ingredient contains natural properties that can help to deep clean your skin. Apply the tea tree oil on the affected area, every night, before you go to bed. The next day, wash the area as normal. Tea tree oil should always be diluted with a carrier oil like coconut oil (1:1 ratio). Before the application, do a skin patch test especially if you have sensitive skin. 3. Warm towels Place a warm towel, several times a day, on the white bumps around your eyes. The bumps will slowly disappear. 4. Cornstarch and apple cider vinegar Make a paste with these two ingredients and let it sit on the affected area for 30 minutes. Once you’ve done that, wash the area with soap and water. The rash will disappear within a few days. 5. Sugar, Olive oil, and lemon This is probably one of the best recipes to get rid of milia. Juice one lemon, and mix it with 2 tablespoons of sugar and a little bit of olive oil. Once this is done, apply the natural remedy for 15 to 20 minutes, then rinse it off. This treatment should be done once a day and always at night. On the next day you should avoid exposure to the sun. How to Get Rid of Cholesterol Deposits Around Your Eyes Cholesterol spots or deposits that you can notice around your eyes are bumps of fat that develop underneath your skin, usually in the inner canthus of the upper eyelid. They are also known as xanthelasma. While one of the main causes of xanthelasma is a high level of low-density lipoproteins (LDL or ‘bad’ cholesterol) in the body, it can also be due to genetic factors, diabetes, liver disease and other conditions. People who have high cholesterol, cirrhosis or diabetes are at a higher risk of developing this problem. It’s also more common among people who are between 40 and 60 years old. This problem does not cause pain or itching, but it may impede vision if the bump grows large enough. Plus, it can be a signal of future coronary artery disease. A 2013 study published in BioMed Research International reports that a good number of cases of xanthelasma palpebrarum are combined with smoking, central obesity, hypertension, diabetes and dyslipidemia, which are the major risk factors for coronary artery disease. As the affected area is normally very close to the eyes, surgery is not a recommended treatment. Plus, surgery can lead to scarring, which can be as upsetting as the appearance of the bump itself. Laser treatment is another possibility, but also carries the risk of scarring. It is important to find out the cause of your xanthelasma and plan the treatment accordingly. For instance, if the cause is high cholesterol in the blood, you need to take steps to reduce your cholesterol level. In the meantime, these home remedies can help minimize the appearance of or even remove the bumps. Here are the top 10 ways to get rid of cholesterol deposits around your eyes.

How To Remove All Milia Permanently In 2 Weeks! Remove Whiteheads Under Eyes At Home

02:56
Milia seeds are small white-coloured fat granule growing on the skin, particularly in area surrounding the eyes. They look like white sesame seeds! They are not pleasant looking. Here, I share with you a way to remove. One effective way to remove milia seeds is by using glycerin. By rubbing glycerin on the milia seeds can dissolve the oil around the milia seeds and bring about the removal of milia seeds. Milia seeds can be removed in 1 – 2 weeks while bigger ones need 1- 2 months to clear. After washing face every night, rub some glycerin on the milia seeds. Use index finger to slowly and gently massage. Do it consistently everyday and you can see the milia seeds gradually shrink. After a short time they dry up. Now you can remove them by gentle rubbing. A few cautions to remember regarding the use of glycerin: Glycerin needs to dilute: Do not apply too concentrated glycerin directly on the skin, because highly concentrated glycerin can irritate the skin and dehydrate it excessively. Therefore before using high concentration glycerin need to dilute it with clean water. Glycerin dosage: Correct use of glycerin can remove milia seeds on your face but improper use can lead to more milia seeds cropping up. Remember not to apply too much at one time. Excessive amount applied on the skin can block the pores and lead to more milia seeds to appear, especially for people with oily skin. SLIDE 12 Need to observe hygiene: Keeping the skin clean is highly important in order to succeed. Need to clean the dirt and oil from the face immediately after they appear and do it daily to keep the skin clean at all time. This will prevent the milia seeds from reappearing. Glycerin is to be used at night Glycerin must not be used during day time. This is because it is light-sensitive. During day time it will react with the sunlight and cause the skin to become dark in the applied area. This is no such worry if it is used at night. Need to know air humidity. Glycerin has powerful water-absorption ability. If the environment is very dry, glycerin can dehydrate the skin causing skin-dryness. In countries with dry climate, particularly during winter season, glycerin is not recommended. Choose gel based eye cream which can be easily absorbed by the skin, which will not stimulate granules to grow. Milia seeds are often caused by overly rich creams Reduce or abstain from the use of eye-shadow powder, glitters or other similar powder-based cosmetic products. Home remedies for cholesterol deposits around the eyes Do you have yellowish grains around the eyes, especially near the upper eyelids of the inner corners of your eyes? That is a condition known in the field of medicine as xanthelasma. The lumps may appear as if they are filled with pus or any other type of yellow dirt, but they are actually cholesterol deposits. Xantelasma is not something that could endanger your health, but it can surely ruin your appearance. However, it is important to keep in mind that the presence of these embarrassing lumps usually indicates high levels of LDL (low density lipoprotein) or bad cholesterol within you. There are also cases where it is caused by genetic factors, problems with the liver, diabetes and a handful of other medical conditions. The good news is that xanthelasma is a cosmetic problem that can be treated surgically. A procedure that involves the use of lasers is also an option. However, both solutions to those unsightly growths around your eyes may have certain risks, such as scars. In addition, the cost of these procedures may not fit the average pocket. Fortunately, there are many home remedies that have proven to be effective for many people suffering from xanthelasma. Before you review them, it is a good idea to opt for a low cholesterol diet to help reduce your body's cholesterol levels. This has worked for many of those with xanthelasma. So, without further ado, there are some tips to get rid of those unattractive cholesterol deposits: Garlic One of the most popular and undoubtedly effective home remedies for xanthelasma is garlic. Just peel a clove of spicy grass. Cut it in half and begin to rub gently on pimple-like growths. You may feel a slight burning sensation, but that is normal. Repeat for a few days. Onions Like garlic, onions are very good at making those blister-like growths disappear. Chop half an onion and squeeze the juice with a piece of cheesecloth. Sprinkle some salt on the juice and let it sit for a few hours. Before hitting the sack, apply the juice on the trouble spots. Wash yourself in the morning. Banana peel Leaving small pieces of banana peel in the growths during the night produces impressive results after a few days. Simply cut small squares of banana peel. With the fleshy parts down, secure them in place with small strips of tape or bandage. Delete the next day. Beaver oil Another effective home remedy for xanthelasma is castor oil. However, many say it works better in the potholes that have just formed. As soon as you notice some yellowish formations around the eyes, look for a bottle of castor oil. Use a cotton swab to paint the product in those horrible formations. Apple cider vinegar No list of home remedies for various beauty problems would seem complete without the apple cider vinegar in it. Dip very small cotton balls in apple cider vinegar. Squeeze the excess and secure them over the yellow bumps with small strips of adhesive tape or bandage. After a couple of hours, remove it and rinse it. Eat foods that lower cholesterol As mentioned above, it is a good idea to switch to a diet that is not high in cholesterol to help reduce your body's cholesterol levels, which can help the xanthelasma go away on its own. Be sure to include many foods that lower cholesterol in the diet. Most of them are full of fiber that helps eliminate cholesterol in food. Many of these foods also contain vitamin C, antioxidants and healthy fats that effectively reduce bad cholesterol. These are some good examples of foods that lower cholesterol: Oats Leafy greens like spinach Vegetables Avocados Citric fruits Fatty fish like salmon Olive oil Red wine Green Tea

How to get rid of skin tags from upper eyelids or eye region?-Dr. Nischal K

01:22
Skin tags on over eyelids are no different form skin tags in other parts of the face or in other parts of the neck to in the underarms. So these are small growth of the skin. So what we do is we apply a numbing cream, leave it for an hours’ time so that the skin becomes completely numb and we remove this using a radiofrequency. This is what we call it as radiofrequency abalation. Since this is a superficial procedure, there is not harm to the eyeball or to the lens which is placed inside the eyeball. For example after post cataract operations, sometimes people have an intraocular lens. So there is no harm when we do radiofrequency ablation to any of these things. So it is a very simple office based procedure where the waiting time is more because the skin takes some time to become numb, but procedure hardy takes around 10 to 15 minutes. After we remove the lesion, there is a small tiny wound and that heals within 5 to 7 days very nicely without a mark.

Though they are common in newborns, they can appear on people of all ages. Milia forms when keratin gets trapped beneath the surface of the skin, creating a cyst. Keratin is a fibrous protein, and it is the main structural component in skin, hair and nails. Don’t google image search ‘keratin cyst’. Its super gross. Milium, the singular of Milia is formed at the base of a hair follicle or sweat gland. There are several different categories of Milia. Neonatal milia affects around half of newborn babies, and is believed to be caused by their underdeveloped sweat glands. Milia in children disappear within a couple of weeks and don’t require treatment. Primary milia is found on both children and adults around the eyelids, cheeks, forehead and may last several weeks or even months. Secondary milia develops anywhere on the body where the skin has been damaged or injured in some way. It can also be caused by the long-term use of steroid creams. Milia en plaque is a very rare form of milia that occurs on skin plaque, which is a raised, inflamed patch of skin. Milia en plaque is particularly common in middle-aged women, but the cause of it is not completely clear. Multiple eruptive milia occurs in patches of milia that appear over several weeks to months. They mostly develop on the face, upper arms and upper torso. In most cases, your dermatologist can identify milia by just looking at it, if not, your doctor may need to perform a skin biopsy. Treatment isnt really necessary because milia is harmless, but it isnt exactly the cutest thing ever, and you do have the option of getting it removed. If you want to get milia removed, talk to your doctor or dermatologist. Common treatments include piercing the milium, then using a comedone extractor to remove the contents, topical creams, laser treatment, dermabrasion, and chemical peels. But there are other methods if you want to avoid doctors and needles. Try using an exfoliating treatment like the Banish Pumpkin Enzyme Masque, which contains alpha hydroxy acids that slough away dead skin cells, and also healing properties like vitamin a, vitamin c, and beta carotene. But if youre not a fan of pumpkin, don’t worry, theres still hope. The Banish Glycolic and Rose Masque also contains alpha hydroxyl acid in the form of glycolic acid, which is the safest AHA to use on your skin. Of all the AHA’s, glycolic acid has the smallest molecules, allowing it to penetrate deeper into your skin to exfoliate your pores super effectively. Due to its antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties, aloe vera may help minimize the appearance of milia. Just massage aloe vera gel into the milia, or use the Banish Aloe Vera Oil for some extra moisturization. TO BANISH ACNE SCARS (Best acne scars product out there! How I removed my Milia At Home Easily | Hard white bumps under eyes

05:23
ilia, also called milk spots, are little white or yellowish bumps that commonly appear around and under the eyes. They can also appear on the nose, cheeks, forehead and chest. Basically, milia are keratin-filled cysts that are considered unsightly but harmless. They are quite common in newborn babies (often disappear within a few weeks), but can affect people of all ages. In adults, the condition may persist for months, even years. The problem occurs when the skin cannot remove dead skin cells, thereby causing clogged pores. It can be caused by factors like use of heavy, pore-clogging skin care products, sun damage, blistering injuries, and long-term use of steroid creams. Though milia cysts are generally neither itchy nor painful, they tend to mar your beauty. Some simple, natural home remedies can help you get rid of them. Here are the top 10 home remedies for milia. 1. Facial Sauna A facial sauna is useful in treating milia and unclogging pores as it helps loosen and remove dead skin cells and debris. Soak a clean towel in hot water and wring out the excess water. Place the towel on your face for a few minutes and then remove it. Repeat a couple of times. Do this daily for about a week or a little more. Alternatively, you can steam your face for 10 to 15 minutes daily until the condition clears. You can apply apple cider vinegar or castor oil after this steam treatment. 2. Honey Honey helps treat milia due to its antioxidant and humectant properties (retains moisture and avoids dryness). It also can be combined with other ingredients to make a facial scrub to exfoliate your skin and reduce milia. Simply spread honey, preferably raw honey, on your face. Leave it on for 15 minutes and then rinse it off. Do this daily until you see improvement. Alternatively, mix two tablespoons of honey and one tablespoon of jojoba oil. Apply it on your face and wash it off after 15 to 20 minutes. Repeat daily or three or four times a week until you see improvement. You can also add one tablespoon of granulated sugar and three tablespoons of oatmeal to the above mixture to make a facial scrub. Use it to gently scrub your skin for several minutes and then rinse it off. Repeat once or twice a week, until the bumps are gone. 3. Sandalwood and Rose Water A combination of sandalwood and rose water helps get rid of excess oil and removes dead skin cells, thereby reducing milia as well. Mix two tablespoons of sandalwood powder with sufficient rose water to make a smooth paste. Spread this paste evenly on your skin and leave it on for about 15 minutes. Wash it off with cool water and then pat dry your face. Do this daily for a few weeks. 4. Pomegranate Peel Powder Using roasted pomegranate peel powder is another popular home remedy for milia due to its antioxidant and exfoliating properties. Being rich in vitamin C, it is also good for your skin. It will also help soothe acne and pimples. Roast some pomegranate peels until they become dark brown and brittle, and then crush them into a powder. Add a little lemon juice or rose water to two tablespoons of the powder to make a paste. Gently rub it on your face. Leave it on for 15 to 20 minutes before rinsing it off. Follow this remedy a few times a week until the bumps disappear. 5. Castor Oil Castor oil has natural healing and antibacterial properties and also helps control oil production, thereby curing a number of skin problems including acne and milia. Simply apply one-half teaspoon of castor oil on your face and leave it on until it is completely absorbed in the skin. Do this daily for several months. You can also use a mixture of equal parts of castor oil and olive oil in the same way. Alternatively, you can apply a paste of one teaspoon of castor oil and enough baking soda on the affected area. Leave it on for a few hours and then wash it off. Repeat daily for about two weeks. 6. Sugar Scrub Using a simple sugar scrub can prove highly beneficial in getting rid of milia as it exfoliates the skin. Furthermore, this recipe includes lemon juice and olive oil that make your skin softer and brighter. Squeeze out the juice from one-quarter to one-half piece of lemon and mix it with two tablespoons of granulated sugar and one teaspoon of olive oil. Gently scrub this mixture onto your skin for a few minutes. Leave it on for 20 minutes and then rinse it off. Do this twice a week for a few months. Extracting a Milia on the Edge of the Eye

04:04
This young woman had a single milium at her left inner canthus of her eye. She had tried to pinch and squeeze it out numerous times, but this is nearly impossible, since milia are superficial cysts just under the skin surface. Although the skin in this area is very thin, it is also very mobile so it is particularly difficult to squeeze a cyst out even if you nick the surface beforehand. This is why I often use very sharp, serrated tissue scissors to remove milia in this location. This instrument can grab tissue that is thin and mobile much easier than a sharp blade, and a comedone extractor can't be used because I can't put pressure on the eye in this area. This area should heal up very well, and no scar should remain after this milium removal Thank you so much for watching! Home Remedies That Help You Get Rid Of Cholesterol Deposits Around The Eyes

Home Remedies That Help You Get Rid Of Cholesterol Deposits Around The Eyes. ★Subscribe for latest updates☛ https://goo.gl/iv1ZQo If you have yellowish pimples around your eyes, especially near the upper eyelids of the inner corners of your peepers, that’s a condition known as xanthelasma (cholesterol deposits). The bumps may appear like they’re filled with pus or any other yellow-colored gunk, but actually, those are deposits of cholesterol. Xanthelasma is not something that can endanger your health, but it can ruin your appearance. However, it’s important to note that the presence of those embarrassing bumps usually indicates high levels of LDL (low-density lipoprotein) or bad cholesterol. Sometimes they can indicate problems with the liver, diabetes and a handful of other medical conditions. The good news is that xanthelasma is a cosmetic issue and it can be dealt with surgically. A procedure involving the use of the laser is also an option. However, both solutions to those unsightly growths around your eyes may come with certain risks, such as scarring. Do you want to know how to get rid of Xanthelasma? Let us help you by explaining the best treatment for Xanthelasma Plaques around your eyes. Xanthelasma and xanthoma may be temporary or permanent. This is directly linked to the duration of the xanthelasma in question. The longer it is present the more likely it is that calcium will deposit in the plaques and make it permanent. Temporary, soft plaques can easily be reduced by simple measures. However, permanent measures require more vigilant treatment. Here we describe the possible ways in which you can treat and remove Xanthelasma Palpebrarum and xanthoma plaques effectively. • Diet restriction, the most important factor to control is diet. You need to cut down on all the saturated fats you are ingesting as it is the prime culprit. Try and shift towards the protein and fruits and vegetables. Consume unsaturated fats and that too in limited quantities. Also, including fiber in our diet helps a lot. Fiber binds to fats and cholesterol in the gut and prevents its absorption. Furthermore, it even stimulates the gut to secrete excess cholesterol which it binds, efficiently removing a lot of cholesterol from your system. All these modifications will help you achieve lower levels of lipid in the blood which can potentially remove the xanthelasma from your eyes in cases that have temporary plaques. Also, it has significant effects on the permanent plaques and can decrease their size if not remove them completely. • Medical treatment, there are a number of drugs in the market that interfere with the cholesterol cycle, increase its excretion or limit its absorption. All of these effects result in decreased levels of lipid in the blood. A common class of drug used for this purpose is the statins. These drugs help lower blood lipid levels by decreasing the production of endogenous cholesterol. They are HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor, which is an enzyme involved in the synthesis of cholesterol. Once the cholesterol production is lowered and the diet is controlled, the lipid level of blood comes down to normal. This results in the decrease in the size of the xanthelasma plaque and can even cure the skin condition for good. • Xanthel, Xanthelasma removal cream, in this procedure, the cream is applied to the Xanthelasma. Usually, only one application is needed. Xanthel has been used in these procedures with great effect, which works to destroy the internal layer of skin housing the Xanthelasma. It precipitates and coagulates the proteins in the area, degenerating them. It is one of the most effective methods of Xanthelasma removal.
