Visit Italy - The DON'Ts of Visiting Italy

10:42
GRAB A WOLTERS WORLD SHIRT http://www.woltersworld.com/shop What You Shouldn't Do When You Are in Italy Visiting Italy is an amazing experience whether you are seeing the Roman ruins throughout the country in places like Rome or Naples, but for all the amazing things you should do in Italy (visit Venice, Florence, Rome, Ravenna, Amalfi Coast, eat until you explode) there are things you DON'T DO when you come to Italy & Here are our 12 things NOT TO DO in Italy when you are traveling Italy. Filmed in Vicenza, Italy Copyright Mark Wolters 2016 The Don'ts of Italy 1. Don't expect to get discount prices on fancy Italian luxury brands. 2. Don't eat near tourist sights. You will be ripped off and not get as good of Italian food as you would away from the tourist sights. 3. Don't Tip. They already charge you for service. 4. You Don't have to scream louder to get people to understand you. 5. Don't worry about overdressing, the Italians will always look better than you. 6. Don't just visit Rome and Venice, there is so much more to Italy. 7. Don't share your pizza and make sure you do eat it with your fork and knife. 8. Don't use the fast trains for short distances, they are not worth the significantly higher prices. 9. Don't expect to see spaghetti and meatballs on the menu TOGETHER. They will be there separately, but not together. 10. Don't expect a big breakfast in Italy. Just coffee and a cookie. 11. Don't overpack. You will be limited on space when traveling in Italy so pack accordingly. 12. Don't expect to be served food in a restaurant between 3pm and 7pm. 10 Things That Will SHOCK You About Visiting Italy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZGhlkXw10Z0 10 Things That Will SHOCK You About Visiting The USA https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=89aEoIjzupk 10 Things That Will SHOCK You About Germany https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tyHi2FESIVo USA Today & 10Best's #1 Independent Travel Videographer 2014 FlipKey by TripAdvisor Top 10 Travel Bloggers 2014 Grab Wolters World Merchandise & Travel Gear at http://www.woltersworld.com/shop Our Gear: Sony Alpha 6000: Our favorite camera for vlogging. Nice Vacation Travel Guide | Expedia

03:24
When you plan a trip to Nice, France, you’re in good company: This city has been a tourist destination since at least the 18th century. The European aristocracy often spent their winters in the pleasant climate, with a sunset walk on the shoreline being the highlight of each day. You can walk in their footsteps—literally—with a stroll down the Promenade des Anglais, which roughly translates to Walkway of the English. On a tour of Nice, you’ll enjoy the mixture of French and Italian culture that permeates the city’s architecture, public art, and yes, the food. Bon appetit! The residents of Nice love the outdoors, and you will, too, as you explore the Place Massena—the city’s main square, where you can enjoy a snack at a café or do some shopping in its many boutiques. Any Nice sightseeing requires exploration of one of the many open-air markets, where you can pick up fresh produce, local artwork, and French pastries that will leave you wondering why you waited so long to visit. Cap a perfect day in Nice with a dip in the ocean and a walk along the seashore, watching the sun disappear into the sea. What are you going to eat while in Nice? How to find cheap or free campsites in Europe - Plan a Motorhome Road Trip Pt 2 - Wild camping

21:43
How do you find cheap or free campsites in Europe? This is How to Plan a Motorhome Road Trip Part 2. (Part 1 can be found here: https://youtu.be/Oxke9g_04kA ) If you want to know how to find wild camping, cheap overnight stays or beautiful places around Europe to stop, this video is for you. More info can be found on our website http://wandering-bird.com. If you've watched Part 1 of How to Plan a Motorhome Road Trip, you'll know how to get to Europe, but how do you know where to stay? How do you find these incredible cheap or even free camping spots?? When we began our 2017 Europe Motorhome Tour we didn't know where to start- RV Living was completely new to us! But we got on that ferry to Europe and we had an amazing time while learning very fast how everything works and what works for us! We're heading off to Europe again in a few weeks and we wanted to answer some of your questions about how to start a plan for a motorhome trip, how we travel from the UK to Europe, how to decide where to go, how we navigate and where we stay. We completely understand that to people who have never done it before, going to a foreign country can be incredibly daunting, especially if you have a motorhome, RV, van, caravan or other large vehicle to worry about. We've tried to answer as many questions as possible but if you have any more, please just ask below. We hope that it might inspire some of you to get in your own vans and go have some adventures!! Let us know if it does. Sites mentioned in this video are: Searchforsites.co.uk campercontact.com Park4night.com ALL ARE FREE TO SIGN UP & USE. I am not affiliated to them in any way. _________________________________________________________________ In 2017, our family travelled Europe in a motorhome. When we returned, we decided we liked it so much we wanted to do it again! So we traded in the van for a bigger model, quit (one of) our jobs and in 2018 we're heading off to explore Europe again- proper RV living! We're starting with Germany and then moving on to Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland and many more. We hope you can follow our journey! _________________________________________________________________ FOLLOW OUR ADVENTURES: BLOG: https://wandering-bird.com INSTAGRAM: https://instagram.com/wanderingbird.a... Here is the link http://www.touristhelpline.com/i-travelled-europe-in-10000/ Based on the experience of that trip, I am going to share some information which may be very helpful for everyone who is planning to do a Europe trip, especially for the first timers. The inputs are broadly based on these topics - 1. Which are the best countries in Europe for a budget traveller? (After watching this video and other ones coming up in this series, I am sure you will know that travelling in Europe is no more a costly affair) 2. Which are the cheapest flights from India to Europe? (I have shared some tricks which will help you to get cheap flight tickets to Europe) 3. Italian Food - AMAZING ROMAN FOOD and Attractions in Rome, Italy!

29:20
Join me on this incredible Italian food tour in Rome! ►Subscribe to my videos: http://bit.ly/MarkWiensSubscribe ►Watch the full series playlist: https://goo.gl/179qoF ►Camera gear I use: https://goo.gl/68UlWd Day 14 on our Round The World Trip for Food: Rome, Italy - On our very first day in Rome, we set off early in the morning to see some of the most famous attractions in Rome, including the Colosseum and the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill. After doing some more sightseeing and having lunch, we had an amazing Roman food at a restaurant in Rome called Trattoria Dal Cavalier Gino. 00:37 Breakfast at the hotel - To begin the day of sightseeing in Rome, we had breakfast at the hotel, and did the final planning of the day. 2:12 Colosseum - One of the most important and well recognized attractions in Rome is the Colosseum and we arrived pretty early to get in, and I also had pre-purchased my tickets online to attempt to beat the crowds and not have to waste time waiting in line. It worked well, and as soon as the Colosseum opened, we went through security and got in. It was an amazing sight to see, especially because it was so quiet when we arrived. 3:51 Roman Forum and Palatine Hill - Locate in the same area as the Colosseum is the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill, and so that’s where we went next. Again, seeing the ancient ruins of Rome was truly spectacular. 5:48 Trattoria Luzzi - I wasn’t quite sure where to eat lunch, and located right around these famous attractions in Rome, there are a lot of expensive, and probably not so good restaurants. We decided to go check out a restaurant called Trattoria Luzzi, just down the road from the Colosseum on the opposite side of the road. I ordered Trippa Alla Romana, a Roman tripe dish and also a pasta of Amatriciana. Overall, the food was good, and it was a friendly little restaurant and the location was good. Total price - 21 EUR ($23.47). 10:31 Basilica di San Giovanni in Laterano - After lunch we headed to Basilica di San Giovanni in Laterano, a huge basilica in Rome. Right across the plaza is Scala Sancta, a small chapel with a 28 step staircase where Jesus is believed to have ascended. 13:25 Gelateria Valentino - I don’t know of anyone that goes to Rome without eating some gelato, and right around the Trevi fountain area of Rome, you’ll find a lot of gelato spots. We tried Gelateria Valentino. Gelato - 3 EUR ($3.35) 14:50 Trevi Fountain - Another one of the most iconic attractions in Rome is the Trevi fountain. We didn’t spend too much time there, but it is pretty cool to see in person. 16:25 Amazing Italian Roman food at Trattoria Dal Cavalier Gino Restaurant - For dinner, my wife and I met up with Valentina and Antonio. After walking through the amazing narrow lanes of Rome, we navigated our way to Trattoria Dal Cavalier Gino Restaurant, where they had made a reservation for dinner. The restaurant is exactly what you want in a classic Roman Italian food restaurant, a family style restaurant that offers an abundance of Roman dishes. We first started with some types of Roman pasta including cacio e pepe, and carbonara, all of which were incredible - the best pastas I’ve ever had. Then we moved on the an amazing assortment of main Italian food dishes, including veal, lamb, and so many other amazing dishes. It was an Italian food meal like I’ve never had before. Most of the dishes were Roman food style. Thank you Valentina and Antonio for the amazing dinner! Day 14 in Rome was an amazing day of visiting some of the most famous attractions in Rome and eating some incredibly delicious Italian food! Disclaimer and Thank You: Thank you to Star Alliance and their Round The World tickets (http://www.staralliance.com/en/round-the-world) for sponsoring my business class flights. Thank you to Rome Marriott Grand Hotel Flora for sponsoring my stay in Rome. I personally paid for all food and attractions in this video, and I decided what to do and where to eat. Well, welcome to Italy! This week we're exploring the fashion capital of Europe. We're here in Milan. But of course there is more to do in Milan than just go shopping. So we're going to be showing you 20 attractions around town. We made time for major attractions like Il Duomo, Sforza Castle, and Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, but we also veered away from the crowds in search of street art and interesting neighborhoods. This being Italy, we also tried to prioritize meals, sampling everything from pizza to risotto, and cappuccinos to aperitivos. The following travel guide will highlight 20 things to do when you visit Milan, Italy 1) Milan Catherdral (Il Duomo - Duomo di Milano - Domm de Milan) 2) Il Duomo Terrace 3) Italian Breakfast - Cappuccino and sweet Italian pastries 4) Sforza Castle - Castello Sforzesco 5) The Galleria - Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II 6) Risotto alla Milanese - Milan style risotto 7) Street Art around Porta Ticinese 8) Colonne di San Lorenzo - Columns of San Lorenzo Roman Ruins 9) Boat tour down the canal (linea traghetti gaggiano milano) 10) Dine along the canal in Milan's Navigli District 11) Aperitivo drinks and buffet - Apéritifs and digestifs 12) Shopping in Milan down Via Torino 13) Visiting Chinatown for some Chinese food 14) Ride a bicycle in Milan like a local 15) Pizza al taglio (pizza al trancio) Italian pizza by the slice 16) Basilica of Sant'Eustorgio containing relics of the 3 Magi 17) Duomo Museum covering the cathedrals history in-depth 18) New City Views with a hop-on-hop-off bus pass 19) Museum of Natural History - Museo Civico di Storia Naturale di Milano 20) Night views of Milan nearby Il Duomo http://nomadicsamuel.com/photo-essays/20-things-milan-blogville Our trip to Milan, Lombardy was part of the Blogville project where we stayed in a local apartment and experienced all of the best cultural activities, museums, restaurants, arts and entertainment the city has to offer. This city guide is our best attempt to create a mix of best attractions and off-the-beaten-path activities that you won't necessarily find in a typical Milan tourism brochure. 20 Things to do in Milan Italy Travel Guide Video Transcript: Our first stop was Il Duomo, which is the most recognized attraction in the city. The cathedral took nearly six centuries to complete. So we've sat down at a little cafe and we're going to have our first Italian breakfast with cappuccino and sweet pastries. Something that surprised us about Milan is that there is a castle right in the middle of the city. Sforza Castle was built in the 15th century by the Duke of Milan, and it then underwent several restorations and expansions in the following centuries. Today it houses several of the city's most prized art possessions, including frescoes by Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo's very last sculpture. For some upscale designer shopping, Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II is the place to be. So we just found a local little restaurant and we're going to be trying a traditional dish that is very popular in this city and in the Lombardy region. We are going to have Risotto alla Milanese. The Colonne di San Lorenzo are the remains of Roman ruins that date back to the 2nd century. They are believed to have been part of a bath house. Another fun activity to try in Milan is a boat tour of the canals. The city's canals are attributed to Leonardo Da Vinci, who in 1482 was called over by the Duke of Milan to help renovate the city’s canal system. Milan's Navigli District is one of the liveliest parts of town especially when the sun goes down for dining al fresco. So we've gone out for our first Italian Aperitivo. Which is kind of like a pre-dinner drinking tradition. Basically, you get yourself a cocktail for about 10 Euros and that gives you access to this massive buffet. And that's all for our visit to Milan. We hope this video will give you some cool ideas of sights and attractions to check out. This is part of our Travel in Italy series showcasing Italian culture, Italian arts, Italian foods & Italian cuisine. Monaco travel guide

12:43
http://tourvideos.com/ The world's most deluxe country. Passing through Eze sur Mer, but were not stopping because we are heading to Monaco, the world's second-smallest country, after the Vatican, less than a square mile in size. It's been a sovereign nation since 1861 when it gained independence from France, and it's a full member of the United Nations -- small, but filled with beautiful contrast, one of the world's most deluxe places. The Tourist Information office in the train station is a great place to stop and pick up some brochures and you can get a free city map here and you'll find they are very helpful. And yet despite this diminutive size, there is contrast in Monaco: You've got the Old Town and you've got the new ultra-modern town...you've got the waterfront and you've got the hillside...there are beautiful flowers and gardens and historic sites. This program will focus on the two main areas for the visitor: The old town and Monte Carlo with the casino and elegant shopping area. Monaco is more than twice as densely populated as the second most crowded country, which is Singapore. That's with a population density in Monaco of about 47,000 people per square mile, compared to Singapore with about 20,000 people per square mile. Now this is really crowded compared to other European countries. For example, the UK has got about 700 people per square mile, Italy 500 people per square mile. So we are talking about a very crowded and packed in place, this Monaco, and yet they manage it amazingly well. Perhaps this is a model for the other big cities of the world, showing how to grow and how to plan your city. Several cities in the world have got twice the population density of Monaco, including Dacca, the most crowded city in the world, the capital of Bangladesh, Manila and Mumbai. Other cities that are more crowded include in India, Delhi and Calcutta, also Hong Kong, and Paris is more densely populated; Bogotá, Karachi, Cairo, Hong Kong, Singapore, Mumbai, Manila and even Paris. And yet Monaco does a very good job of organizing the people who live here into beautiful buildings and lovely neighborhood, so they're doing a great job in handling that population. The might even be considered a model for the rest of the urbanizing areas of the world. Monaco gained its independence back and 1489, and had a protectorate with Spain for about 100 years and, and then with France, and then with Sardinia up until 1860. Monaco became independent from France in 1861. And today it's a sovereign nation represented in the United Nations. It's surrounded by France and there is a military arrangement where it's defended by France. Monaco is quite active on the international scene with consulates in 72 different countries, and within Monaco, there are 65 countries that have embassies, along with 75 nations with consular offices, so this is by no means a small, isolated place. It's very much part of Europe. The economy will surprise you. You might think that all of the revenues are gained from the gambling casino and related gambling ventures, but actually gambling represents only 3% of the nation's revenue of the nation's revenue, the GDP. The present casino was first inaugurated in 1863 and gradually grew an expanded ever since. It's an elaborate structure with the principal façade fronting the town in the south façade overlooking the sea. The earliest portion was rebuilt in 1878 by Charles Garnier, the architect of the grand opera house in Paris. Of course gambling was very important back in the 19th century when it was just getting started. The first casino was opened in 1856. The principal entrance of the casino is between two towers with domes of colored tiles, and flanked by statues of the Seine and the Mediterranean. The south façade has three arcades with Venetian mosaics and two slender towers, and niches at the side with statues representing music and dance. To arrive on the terraces of Monte Carlo at twilight on a springtime or autumn evening is one of the great episodes in one's life.

Italy’s Verona, Padova, and Ravenna

Assisi and Italian Country Charm

Rick Steves' Europe Travel Guide | Check your local public television station for this Rick Steves’ Europe episode or watch it on https://www.ricksteves.com/watch-read-listen/video/tv-show In the Italian countryside, we'll connect with rustic, traditional culture: enjoying an agriturismo (farmhouse inn), seeing how prosciutto and pecorino cheese are made, and hiking to the bottom of deep and ancient wine cellars. We'll end in Assisi — the hometown of St. Francis — which retains its spiritual aura to this day. Like pilgrims, we'll explore its stony center before trekking to its awe-inspiring basilica, built on the tomb of the beloved saint. Paris to Milan by TGV train - video guide

06:44
Tickets from Paris to Milan or Turin start at just €29 - for information or to buy tickets online see https://www.seat61.com/Paris-to-Milan-by-TGV-train.htm A beginner's guide to travel from Paris to Turin or Milan by high-speed TGV train, showing the train interior & exterior, the scenery and the food on board. Three daily French TGVs link Paris Gare de Lyon with Turin and Milan, from €29 one-way booked direct with French Railways. The video shows the 14:41 from Paris arriving Turin 20:13, Milan Porta Garibaldi at 21:50, with an easy connection from London St Pancras by Eurostar. The video was taken in June, and there was still snow on the highest peaks - the weather wasn't great on this occasion, overcast with brooding clouds, the route looks far better in proper summer sun or winter snow! Fans of BBC Top Gear may recognise a shot or two in this video - I supplied a few clips to the Beeb for their Wembley to Milan TGV-versus-Mustang 'race' first shown in February 2013.

This week we are exploring the city of love, city of lights and city of art. This video will be showing you the top 50 things to do while you visit Paris. So we're wrapping things up here. What would be your one tip for visiting Paris? Well, I have recently spent a whole ten days here in summer. I would say that if you really want to visit the art galleries, the museums and all of the main attractions you should probably avoid summer and like either come in the spring or the fall or even winter. Because the lines are insane and sometimes you have to wait like an hour and a half or two hours. So how about you? What are your final thoughts on Paris? So my finals thoughts is obviously Paris is one of the top cities in the world in terms of attractions. There is going to be garbage, there is going to be lines, there is going to be some areas that are a bit of an eyesore. But there is also a lot of beauty and there is also a lot to do here. And that concludes our guide of the top 50 things to do and see in Paris. We hope you enjoyed watching, and let us know if there are other places you would add to this list. This is part of our Travel in France series showcasing French culture, French arts, French foods & French cuisine. Music in this video courtesy of Audio Network

European Road Trip - Cheap Car Challenge (ep.5 - France, Monaco, Italy)

European Road Trip - Cheap Car Challenge (ep.5 - France, Monaco, Italy) http://www.larsdyrendahl.com My friend had an old Toyota standing on his property. He was planning on taking it to the scrap yard to get rid of it when I told him he shouldn't. I told him it's and old Toyota Corolla and that they are very rigid. It will probably run for another 250 000 kilometers without any attention. Instantly regretting that I just said he told me to prove it. So I did. European Road Trip - Cheap Car Challenge. One of the best weeks ever. Starting off in some amazing, beautiful gorges in southern France before driving down to the Mediterranean and Monaco. In Monaco we go computing. I live carspotting. Then on into Italy, where I was inches away from running out of gas on the Autostrada. Continued to Tuscany and Lucca. A cool city. Hanged out for two days, then went to Maranello and the Ferrari factory before visiting the Pagani factory to end it all at the Lamborghini factory. How sick is that. The grand finale for this week was working at Fiera Cavalli in Verona. Big horse competitions. Florence Vacation Travel Guide | Expedia

03:51
https://www.expedia.com/Florence.d179893.Destination-Travel-Guides Florence, Italy, is a bustling Mediterranean city loaded with delicious Italian food and thousands of years of recorded history. Florence began 59 B.C., when Julius Caesar’s former soldiers settled along the Arno River. The city, initially called Florentia, grew up around these settlements. Today, the old Roman parts of the city are long gone, but the Piazza della Repubblica features a towering monument—the Column of Abundance—where the ancient Roman main streets met. Explore some additional history at the Centro Storico, the historic center of the city. This area features a number of medieval buildings, like the breathtaking Florence Cathedral. Centro Storico is also where you can meet Il Porcellino, a bronze boar statue that is something of a mascot for Florence. Put a coin in his mouth for good luck—it can’t hurt, right? Continue your Florence tour by taking in some of the world’s most stunning religious art, much of it created under the Medici family in the 15th and 16th centuries. You’ll find statues in parks and fountains, as well as outside and inside buildings. Stop by the Uffizi Gallery, which spans a full city block, and view paintings by great artists such as Sandro Botticelli. You’ll also want to visit the Gallery of The Academy to see some of Michelangelo’s seminal work. On the south side of the Arno River is Palazzo Pitti, one of the Medici family’s residences during the Renaissance. It’s now a large set of galleries, where you can view some of the Medici heirlooms and some of their prized artwork, including pieces by Raphael and Correggio. What will you do in Florence?
