How to Build a Cyclone Separator From a Stock Dust Collector

10:47
I took a 2hp harbor freight dust collector and added a piece of sheet metal bent into a funnel and added a barrel to the bottom of it to create a diy cyclone dust separator. The unit functions very well. DIY Dust collector - Simple to make & Under $20

10:46
( Skip ahead to 3:55 for the build) We show you how to make a very simple but highly effective dust collection system for your shop. These systems save the filter and motor on your shopvac. No need to buy expensive cyclonic dust collection systems, this works as good or better. Check out our blog here: http://www.countrylivingexperience.com/blog/ Our Homestead tool store can be found here: http://www.countrylivingexperience.com/homestead-store/ Parts List: 2 - 5 gallon buckets 24" of 3/8" clear rubber tubing 24" of 2" pvc pipe 4 bolts 2 or 3 small clamps silicone sealer 1 - pvc neck down from 2" to 1 1/2" Thank you and as always, have a great day!
Finishing up the dust collector build

06:28
A lot of details left to sort out. http://woodgears.ca/dust_collector/finish_up.html Plans available here: http://woodgears.ca/dust_collector/plans Everybody keeps warning me that the light bulb would melt the bucket. It's an LED bulb. It doesn't get hot. A regular bulb wouldn't last very long because of the vibrations (and the bucket has plenty of cooling on the inside, so it wouldn't melt regardless)

Making a Shopvac & Cyclone Cart - 185

http://jayscustomcreations.com/?p=8268 Subscribe for new videos every week. For most of us there is always a constant battle to reduce wasted shop floor space. To me that's one piece of motivation for getting this project done. I've got a 12 gallon shopvac hooked up to a cyclone dust separator and moving them around the shop together is a pain in the butt. That's motivating factor #2. I've also got a bunch of hoses and accessories taking up floor space in a separate box on the shop floor. More motivation. ---------- Subscribe to my VLOG channel: http://www.youtube.com/jccshorts Here's how you can show your support: Shirts - http://www.jayscustomcreations.com/shop Contribute with the donate button on the bottom of my website - http://www.jayscustomcreations.com/ Social links: Twitter https://twitter.com/JayBates86 Facebook http://www.facebook.com/jayscustomcreations Instagram= http://www.instagram.com/jaybates86 ----------

How to make a DIY Cyclone Dust Collector / Complete tutorial

08:47
DIY Cyclone Dust Collector cart, designed for woodworkers with small workshops. FAST and EASY clean out and a LED system so you can easily see when the bucket is full. 😏 What i like about cyclone collector system is that you never lose suction, and 97% of dust/debris goes in the bucket so you don't have to clean the shopvac filter every time you empty the bucket. I designed mine with 2 clamps so it's fast and easy to empty the bucket. Also, i added a led light system so you can easily see when the bucket is full. I designed my cart vertically, it take less space in my small woodshop. I tried to build this dust collector with materials i had on hand at the lowest possible cost. I had to buy the plastic cyclone dust collector, and with my low budget i opted for the china version. You can choose the original Oneida here : https://www.oneida-air.com/ or the china knockoff on Ebay/Ali ( I do not want to start the debate between the original version and the knockoff version, you choose the one you prefer. 😉 ). Materials used : - Plywood 5/8 ( i used leftovers ) Complete wood parts dimensions here : https://www.pinterest.com/pin/451134087664859740/ You can download sketch up model in my instructable : https://www.instructables.com/id/DIY-Cyclone-Dust-Collector - Cyclone dust collector oneida-air.com ( or china, you choose ;) ) - 5 Gallon bucket ( 18.92L ) - Piano hinge ( Hardware store ) - 2 small toggle clamp ( Ebay or Ali ) - 4 casters ( i choosed 2 fixed and 2 swivels ) - Spray paint ( i had black and chrome paint leftovers ) Central Vacuum System ( Hardware Store for theses parts ) : - 2" vacuum pipe - 2" 90° Sweep Elbow (2x) - 2" 90° Short Elbow (1x) - 2" pipe clamp (3x) - 2" Coupling - Joint Cement - 2" rubber coupling with clamps Thanks for watching, please like and share if you like this project. Build this Sawdust Collection System

30:30
This is the TKW's last word on dust collection. What you're about to see here will amaze you perhaps even stupefy you or maybe even leave you dumbfounded. Indeed, My Spiffy ShopVac (tm) is something you lonely dust collection souls have been searching for. You don't need any fancy tools, extensive piping or sections of flexible hoses sticking out from everywhere like Medusa. In fact, for about $6.78 you can make my DC system and live happily ever after. If you run into a situation where the barrel collapses from the vacuum pressure then the wall is too thin. You can combat this occurrence by adding wood strips to the outside of the barrel, screwing them from inside the barrel into the strips on the outside. Please, no applause, just send money. Nothing ever sits idle within the confines of the Twisted Knot Woodshop. If you don't care to leave a comment then send an email to woodwork@twistedknotwoodshop.com

Setting Up a Cyclone Dust Collector Upgrade: Single Stage Dust Collector to 2 Stage Collector

10:49
This week I am upgrading my cyclone single stage dust collector to a 2 stage collector by using a cyclone type canister add-on that will help collect most of the dust before it even gets to the original dust collector and hopefully, helping to reduce the amount of dust but more so making it easier and safer to get the collected dust out of the woodworking workshop by using the plastic barrels. ****************** Tool Review Playlist: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLgn5pIkLhZC7bI8qwgJFRuGNr_dRHV0qh Woodworking Tool Tips Playlist: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLgn5pIkLhZC6UNY7oGCqqalh2WTG0Ywge ****************** ** Read Full Article on Cyclone Dust Collection system - http://goo.gl/IhJTqO **** Subscribe here - https://www.youtube.com/user/knecht105 ** Like me at Facebook: https://goo.gl/DLgvoa ** Visit the website: http://www.woodworkweb.com ** Follow on Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/colinknecht ** Follow on Twitter: https://twitter.com/woodworkweb ** Connect with me on Google+: http://goo.gl/7fotJq

In this weeks video I am setting up a two stage dust collection system using a cheap barrel and some pvc stuff. I got sick of having to empty the dust collection bag, man these things are a apin in a dark spot. I bought this barrel a couple of years ago and thought it was about time to put it to good use, as preparetion for the kitchen make-over. It's a real easy project and works great. I would like to thank all my subscribers. Thank you all for the support, it really keeps me motivated to continue and improve. How To Make a Cyclone Dust Collector for Your Shop Vacuum

RiDGID VT1720 Universal Hose Kit http://amzn.to/2hx0agZ Shop-Vac 9650610 3.0-Peak HP Wet/Dry Vacuum, 6-Gallon http://amzn.to/2xIJMDQ Ridgid R4513 15 Amp 10 in. Heavy-Duty Portable Table Saw http://amzn.to/2yFr663 ============================== In this video I will show you how to make your own cyclone dust collector for your shop vacuum. This will be installed in between your vacuum and tool. All debris & dust will be sucked into the dust collector and not go into the vacuum cleaner. It will keep your shop vacuum cleaner filter element clean and not clog it. ======================= NOTE ABOUT THE PIPE DIAMETER: For this project, the middle PVC pipe installed in the dust collector lid is 1.25". The PVC pipe installed on the side into the bucket is 1.5". These sizes are what I found to work for my setup between tools/shop vac/hose. Your setup may have different pipe sizes. There are many different pipe diameter sizes found between different brands and tools. For example, many vacuum attachments such as brushes, hand sanders have a diameter of 1.25". Table saw may have pipe diameter 1 7/8". Some shop vac has 2.5" pipe. You will need to figure out what are all the pipe sizes you have, and then get the proper PVC pipe to get everything integrated. If you can't find the right PVC pipe, then you can also use some expansion rubber hose and clamps to hold pieces together. ======================= Dial2Fast website: http://www.dial2fast.com Support Us On Patreon: http://www.patreon.com/dial2fast

DIY Dust Collector/Separator home made in less than 20 minutes with a bucket and spare vacuum parts

07:03
Here is a video on a cyclone dust collector/separator that I built in 20 minutes using a 5 gallon bucket with a lid and some spare wet-dry vac parts and hose that I had laying around my garage. I attach this to my wet-dry vac and then attach it to my tools for dust collection. It is a very simple design and it only took my 20 minutes to build and it is very effective collecting almost all the dust in the bucket letting very little make it into my wet-dry vac. I had all the parts laying around my garage but if you were to go out and buy the parts to make it then it should be under $20, you can see the parts needed in the video and easily get an idea how it works, it is very simple. I hope this video helps, I know I saw a lot of videos where people were just making overly complicated dust collectors that didn't work much better than this simple one. Since I only have a small shop and just use my wet-dry vac for my dust collection I quickly noticed how bad all the dust and shavings were for my vac and came up with this simple system which has been saving my wet-dry vac from excessive motor wear and tear and from the filter getting destroyed. If your just using a wet-dry vac for your dust collection in your shop then I would definitely make one of these collector/separators, it is very quick and easy to make and it is cheap to make, as I said in my case I just had the parts to make this laying around my garage and even if you have to buy the parts your still only going to pay a fraction of what something like a dust deputy would cost you. I forgot to mention in the video that I ran some self tapping screws thru the side of the bucket into the side extension piece in addition to the hot glue to help hold it in place.

Cheap and Easy DIY Dust Separator

08:41
How to make a quick and easy two-stage dust collection system with a trash can, a shop vac, and cheap PVC fittings. See the full article at: https://daileywoodworks.com/2018/03/24/diy-dust-separator/ This is not a cyclone separator and I'm not aiming for 100% efficiency. I just got tired of my filter bags in my shop vacs getting clogged up after a couple of days. I used what I had and $20 of PVC fittings and made what is about an 80% effective separator. Considering filter bags are about $5 each this quickly pays for itself. I plan on refining this design to make it more effective. Visit my website: https://daileywoodworks.com

Easy cyclone separator

I had a need for a cyclone separator for my CNC because it keeps plugging the filter in my shop vac. I didn't want to spend a bunch time building one so I though I would put one together as simple as I could and checks its efficiency. I think it turned out pretty good for a total of 20 minute work time to build it. https://instagram.com/shop_built/ https://www.facebook.com/pages/Shop-built/713921978645450?ref=aymt_homepage_panel https://twitter.com/nods221 www.shopbuilt.org

Simple, Cheap Blast Gates *Free Plans!*

11:14
Sometimes motivation behind building something as opposed to buying has to do with availability. Sometimes it has to do with cost. Sometimes it has to do with quality. In this case it has to do with all three. I set out to build blast gates with scrap material I had laying around. Mainly I did this because I didn't want to have to order blast gates and deal with the shipping, and the cheap ones seemed a little....flimsy? There are high quality ones out there, but why pay for them when I can make my own? I figured I could come up with a design that I could crank out a bunch of parts for and then assemble as needed, so that is just what I did. Enjoy! Plans now available here for FREE! How to Make a 2 Stage Dust Collector | The Easy Way!

12:06
In this video I show you the steps on how to convert almost any single stage dust collector into a two stage dust collector. This is by far the easiest way to convert your single stage dust collector because it is super effective and doesn't require a super fancy setup. I started out by picking up a 32 gallon trash can at my local hardware store. It's important to note that the trash can must be very durable otherwise it could cave in upon the startup of your impeller. From there I cut a two holes in the top of the lid and glued on 2- 4" PVC pipe couplers on the top side and 2- 4" PVC pipe elbows on the bottom side. This will create a cyclone within the trashcan and it will separate the heavier chips from the super tiny chips of sawdust. After connecting my hose from the trash can to the dust collector, I was all set! If you enjoyed this project, please give me a big thumbs up, share the video and most importantly, smash that subscriber button! 2 Stage Harbor Freight Dust Collector

14:17
Follow the link below to find the Super Dust Deputy http://goo.gl/HMYWfs Filter I used from Wynn Enviromental. 62N220NANO1G Fittings: From Shop duct to SDD DRL001205 http://goo.gl/FDTAAA From SDD to HF blower unit DRL060500 In this video I convert my harbor freight dust collector into a two stage system by adding an Oneida Super Dust Deputy Cyclone in front of the blower. I reconfigured the entire system to be a bit more compact and sturdy while I was at it. I also added a cartridge filter to increase the system airflow and so far it seems to have helped a ton! This Sucks! Building The Shop Vac Cabinet For Local Dust collection

10:29
This is a simple cabinet built on the fly using recycled plywood to house the shop vac I want to use to collect the dust from my spindle sander. Having it up above the sander like this is a tradeoff of convenience vs efficient use of space in my smaller shop. Depending on usage, I should only have to empty the vac and clean the filter every few months. 024 Dust Collector Chip Separator

06:29
Whether it's called a pre-sorter, 2nd stage, cyclone separator, or chip collector, they all do the same thing; filter out larger pieces of debris before going into your dust collector's bag and extending the life of the filter. In this episode, I install one on a Delta 50-760. The early steps could be applied to any dust collector with only final fit specific to the Delta.
