In this video, I’m going to show you how to fix workout related wrist pain by going over the best ways to address joint and muscle causes as well as things you can do on specific exercises. To start, I think it is beneficial to try and pinpoint where in your wrist you are feeling pain. For example if you feel wrist soreness on the back side of your wrist in the area of the carpal bones, then you are likely dealing with an impingement or joint immobility issue rather than a muscular one. Here you would want to incorporate the joint mobilization for your wrist to help restore normal extension. This simple wrist mobilization is one that you can do yourself with no equipment at all. Simply squeeze your wrist with your thumb and forefinger and distract that carpal bones just enough to clear the end of the radius. From here, glide the wrist radially and move your wrist into extension by pushing the hand palm down into a bench. You should not experience pain when you do this. Do it for a few reps and then retest your range of motion and you should notice that it has improved significantly. If on the other hand your discomfort is more on the underside of your forearm and tends to run up and down the forearm when your wrist is bent backwards, then this is more indicative of a muscle tightness. Here you don’t only want to just stretch the muscles of the forearm by bending your wrist back and keeping your fingers straight but you want to manipulate the tissues themselves with some myofascial release. You can do this by pressing your forearm into a solid surface (like a squat rack upright) and then flossing the muscles through the compressed area by moving the wrist around in circles as well as back and forth into flexion and extension. Do this until you feel the pain subside in your forearms. The next step once you have addressed the type of pain that you feel in your wrists when working out is to identify the specific exercises that you get soreness in when you lift. The most common ones that I covered in this video are the bench press, pushups, bicep curls and the front and back squats. Each one of them demands a little something different than the others and therefore must be addressed individually. Through some fine tuned careful changes in the position of the grip or the placement of the bar in your hands, you will see that you are able to correct the pain that you are feeling without diminishing the effectiveness of the exercises. They are connected with ligaments, tendons, and cartilage to each other and the surrounding muscles. The knee joint is the largest in the human body. It handles a tremendous amount of stress as it allows lower body mobility while supporting the upper body. Over time, the cartilage at the end of the bones that form the joint can deteriorate. In addition, there are fluid sacs in the knee capsule to keep the joint lubricated. These bursae can become irritated or inflamed if injured, resulting in bursitis. There are many potential causes for knee joint pain: Osteoarthritis – a chronic condition that occurs when the cartilage between bones breaks down Rheumatoid arthritis – an autoimmune disease that affects joints, causing swelling Bursitis – inflammation of fluid sacs either in front or directly behind the kneecap Immuno-inflammatory conditions Injury/over-use Infection Tendonitis – inflammation of tendons Gout – a form of arthritis in which uric acid accumulates and crystals of it settle in a joint Fortunately for our knees, there are natural remedies to reduce inflammation and ease the pain. The following recipe is a knee joint pain relieving rub. It contains effective anti-inflammatories and analgesics. Let’s look at what’s in it. 1. Cayenne. Cayenne has been used by Native Americans for millennia for pain relief. Capsaicin is a phytochemical in this spicy pepper that relieves pain through a variety of mechanisms. First, capsaicin blocks chemical pain transmitter “substance P” from reaching the brain. Second, when applied topically, it penetrates the skin to defunctionalize fibers that respond to pain stimuli. Through the skin, capsaicin stops nerves fibers from feeling pain and transmitting it. The capsaicin in cayenne is also effective for inflammatory skin conditions like psoriasis and eczema. Cayenne works to relieve inflammation when taken internally as well. 2. Apple Cider Vinegar. Supremely beneficial for human health in a wide range of applications, ACV is a potent anti-inflammatory that can relieve joint stiffness. The acetic acid in ACV penetrates the skin and can help to break up acid crystals that can form in the joint. Acetic acid has also been found to provide effective relief for tendonitis and other joint inflammation. (2) Additionally, unfiltered ACV contains bone-supporting minerals calcium, magnesium, potassium, and phosphorus. 3. Olive Oil. Anti-inflammatory and emollient, olive oil is a wonderful carrier oil. 4. Ginger. A potent anti-inflammatory, the phytochemical gingerol inhibits excessive immune response that results in inflammation. A 2014 study of the daily topical application of ginger on joints of people with osteoarthritis (OA) resulted in pain relief within a week and continued for the 24-week duration of the study. Natural Rub Recipe for Bone, Knee and Joint Pain You can apply this paste on any joint to reduce inflammation and relieve pain. You may want to experiment with the recipe and mix half the amount of ACV with the olive oil; sometimes the rub can be quite strong and the olive oil will lessen heat and make the paste easier to apply. The irony is, a lot of times what we feel is rooted in the lower back is actually caused by muscles not in the back at all. In this video, I’m going to show you how the glute medius could be the real cause of your back pain and a quick exercise you can do to relieve your discomfort instantly. Once gone, I’m also going to show you a few additional exercises you can do to make sure your low back pain never returns. The gluteus medius is sandwiched between the glute maximus and minimus and lies in and around the hip area. The role of the muscle is to abduct your hip or lift your leg out to the side in either standing or side lying and to keep your pelvis level whenever you take a step. Prolonged sitting during the day as well as an unequal weight distribution when standing are two of the most common reasons for this muscle to get weak and imbalanced. You can quickly test to see if you have the makings of a weak glute medius by standing with your feet shoulder width apart and lifting one foot off the ground. First take note whether or not your opposite hip drops significantly. If it does, this would indicate a glute weakness on that side. You would repeat with the opposite foot as well. When you do this you would also want to see if you had to dramatically shift your weight to one side just to lift that foot off the ground. If you do, this would indicate that you have an unequal weight distribution when standing and it would be especially troublesome when squatting. To fix this quickly, you will want to lay down on the ground with your affected side on top. If your right lower back was bothering you then you would want to lie on your left hip. From here, take your thumb and place it on the area most sore. You should feel that this is going to happen just to the outside of the bony prominence of your pelvis. From here, push to hold back the trigger point and start flossing your leg down and in front of you and then back and up. Your hip should be extended and then lifted into abduction towards the ceiling (being sure to point the toes down to keep the glute medius in focus). Do this about 10 times until you feel the tension in the muscle release. Now, you can burn out the spasm in the trigger point by getting into the fully contracted position of the glute medius muscle and holding as long as you can. Generally, because this muscle is often very weak, this may not be any longer than 30 seconds to a minute. Once you cannot hold it any more you will stand up and you should notice an immediate relief of the pain on that side. This is the quick but not permanent fix for this problem. Since the underlying cause is weakness in the gluteus medius muscle you will want to back this up with some exercises for your low back that you can do a few times a week. I show you three options for this. The first is the hip bump against the wall. The second is called the sack swinger, and can be done with a dog leash if you don’t have a formal dip belt. The last is actually doing the same movement that you did for the treatment, but this time as a strengthening exercise for your low back. Whatever you do, just be sure you are consistent. You will also see that as you relieve the tension in this muscle that your squat performance improves as well. Your depth should be increased and any low back pain that you felt by doing the exercise should be gone since you will now be able to do them with equal force through each leg. So, it's going to be on this outer lateral aspect of the foot. You can see there's kind of a protrusion here. This is the base of the fifth metatarsal. You can easily find that. That's one of your markers. Your other marker is this heel bone. This is a calcaneus. You're going to want to find the top. That's your other marker. So, between here and here is this kind of little triangle area. Around here is housed the reflexes to the hips and a little bit to the knees. If you start to move above you'll start to go into the arm reflexes and other reflexes. We're going to be really concentrated in here. We're also going to do some work from out here. There are some sciatic and hip reflexes that also course through here. For this place between here and here I'm going to use thumb walking. With thumb walking, again, you're just doing this walking and bending this joint here. You're going to come down here, you're going to get up a little bit, and then come back down. You're not going to pop out. You're going to go in with continued pressure. You're just going to go in again. And in again. There we go. We could also do a little bit of that press and slide which Dr. Manzanares does. You press in, then you kind of slide into that area. Press, and then slide into the area. When you work this outer area you'll also use thumb walking, but you'll come across out through here. So, you're supporting the foot with this hand. I'll lift it up so you can see it a little bit better. It's going to be all through here. So, you start here, and you just come down, and it can be really intense as well especially for women. So interact with your person and if they let you know that it's too deep just ease up a little bit. Come down through here, and come back, and then meet that point through here. You could even just do a point pressure. You’d just press in. And you'll feel it. You might feel a little bit of a change in the tissue texture in that area which I feel here. You'll want to give that a little bit more pressure. When you let go just ease up. Of course, you'll want to do both sides. If for some reason someone is experiencing hip pain you don't want to necessarily just do the side that they're experiencing it on. You want to do both. Just because the pain might be on the right side, for instance, doesn't necessarily mean that it's not coming from the other side. In addition, you could add a little bit of lower back reflexes and lymphatic groin around here with your finger walking technique. Also the heel of the foot you can thumb walk. I like to thumb walk side, and it'll also give attention to that area. It's kind of doing the hips, the knees, the whole pelvic region, and then you can also do a little bit of the lower back through here with your thumb walking just so that you're giving attention to the whole area. That's thumb walking, finger walking, and reflexology for the hip and knee area.

We draw a line between the ulnar styloid and radial styloid, then we use your length of the index finger to draw a vertical line. Next, we also need to draw two lines beside the middle line. Therefore, those three lines are our focusing spots. Secondly, the tool we using is our thumb and the knuckle. Finally, the way to massage the spots is to use our thumb to give up and down and circle massage. If the patient doesn’t feel much pain when you massage at the point then you have to use your knuckle to massage. And same method, to give up and down massage. Remember, same as what I said in last video, when the patient feel the pain during the massage that’s mean you are in the right spot. And don’t push to hard, the key is to communicate and massage for the patient in the same time. Turmeric, its rhizome stem, is used as a traditional medicine to cure various ailments like arthritis and inflammation. Here, we have discussed how you can use turmeric along with other ingredients to cure the condition of arthritis. Turmeric contains anti-inflammatory, anti-arthritic, free radical removal and antioxidant properties that help in treating arthritis. Turmeric also contains curcumin that is effective in treating arthritis and its associated pain. It also helps in treating the swelling and tenderness of the joints. Turmeric also helps in blocking certain cytokines and enzymes that result in inflammation and also works as a painkiller that raises the mobility in the joints and decreases the stiffness. So, here's a gist on how to use turmeric for arthritis treatment. Continue watching to know more. 1. Turmeric And Milk : Mix one spoon of turmeric with one cup of warm milk. Drink this milk in the evening before going to sleep to get a sound sleep. Also, make sure to consume turmeric regularly to reduce the joint pain and inflammation caused by arthritis. This is also confirmed in the study 'Turmeric Extracts Containing Curcuminoids Prevent Experimental Rheumatoid Arthritis'. 2. Turmeric And Water : Add one spoon of turmeric into water. Mix it thoroughly and boil it for 15 minutes. This will help create 12% of curcumin mixture. You need to drink this solution within four hours. Else the curcumin will gradually reduce to 6% in about 6 hours. 3. Turmeric And Ginger : Ginger has anti-inflammatory properties that help remove the inflammatory chemicals from the painful joints. Take half a spoon of turmeric powder and powdered ginger root. Brew them in boiling water for about 20 to 30 minutes. Drink this tea to get relief from arthritis. 4. Turmeric Powder And Coconut Oil : Mix one spoon of turmeric powder with a sufficient amount of coconut oil. Make a paste and apply it on the affected area. Leave it on for a few hours and rub it off after it dries. Repeat this to get relief from arthritis pain completely. 5. Turmeric Powder, Powdered Lime And Saltpeter (Potassium Nitrate) : Take one spoon of turmeric powder, a little powdered lime and saltpeter. Mix them well to make a paste. Apply this on the painful area and cover it with a cheese cloth. Repeat this frequently to get relief from arthritis and its symptoms. 6. Turmeric Paste : Mix ¼th cup of turmeric powder in ½ a cup of water. Simmer it over medium heat and stir until it becomes a paste. Allow it to cool down and store it in the refrigerator. Apply on the affected area and wash off with plain water. Hence, you can adopt this method to treat arthritis using turmeric. 7. Turmeric, Coconut Oil And Egg Yolk : Beat the egg yolks and melt the coconut oil. Add coconut oil into the mixture along with some turmeric powder. Use a hand blender and emulsify this mixture. Consume this mixture once or twice a day to get relief from arthritis completely. 8. Turmeric, Lemon Grass, Coconut Oil And Cayenne Pepper : Mix 5 spoons of cayenne pepper with 5 spoons of turmeric powder. Add dry organic lemon grass to it and coconut oil to it. Mix all these in an oven pan and preheat it at 150 degrees C for 3-5 hours. Strain these herbs by using a cheesecloth into a glass jar and close the lid tightly. Apply this mixture on the skin to get a good relief from arthritis pain. 9. Turmeric, Fenugreek Powder And Dried Ginger Root : Ginger contains anti-inflammatory phytonutrients called gingerols that help with fighting inflammation and arthritis. Mix one spoon each of turmeric powder, fenugreek powder and dried ginger powder. Mix all these thoroughly along with warm water. Consume this solution twice in a day to get relief. 10. Turmeric And Dimethyl Sulphate Solution : Add two spoons of turmeric powder to 1-2 spoons of dimethyl sulphate. Mix them well to make a paste and rub it over the painful joints. Wrap it with a plastic wrap and cover it with a heating pad for about 25 to 30 minutes. 11. Turmeric And Lemon Juice : Take two spoons of turmeric powder with one spoon of lemon juice. Mix them well and add it to boiling water to make a paste. Apply the paste on the affected area and leave it for a few minutes. Wash it with water and repeat this until it heals. We spend a lot of time at keyboards, on handheld devices and using a mouse. This limited range of motion from typing, driving and computer work in our hands, arms and shoulder girdle leads to issues such as carpal tunnel syndrome, arthritis, frozen shoulder, tendonitis, and tennis elbow, muscle and joint pain. Today I am going to show you how to do a delicious hand massage to stimulate the acupuncture and meridian points that run through your hands and the tips of your fingers. These acupuncture and meridian points related to all the various organs and systems of your body, so not only are you creating ease in your hands and wrists but you are also creating harmony and ease in your whole body.
