How Allergies Work Animation - Why Allergic Reactions Occur Video - Symptoms Sneezing Treatment

02:27
Allergies: Allergens like pollen are nothing more than foreign plant antigens. The stimulus for sneezing gets triggered when allergens first enter the nasal tissue. Pollen allergens encounter the plasma cells in the nose, which respond by producing antibodies. These antibodies attach to mast cells, which are white blood cells containing the chemical histamine. As more antibodies are produced, they cause the mast cells to release histamine. Histamine then produces allergy symptoms. A stuffy and runny nose, sneezing and watery eyes help to remove the invading pollen. Medications called antihistamines may be used to help alleviate severe allergy symptoms. Allergies often bring to mind sneezing, a runny nose or watery eyes. While these are symptoms of some types of allergic disease, it’s important to understand that an allergic reaction is actually a result of a chain reaction that begins in your genes and is expressed by your immune system. What is happening inside your body when you have an allergic reaction? The Immune System Your immune system controls how your body defends itself. For instance, if you have an allergy to pollen, your immune system identifies pollen as an invader or allergen. Your immune system overreacts by producing antibodies called Immunoglobulin E (IgE). These antibodies travel to cells that release chemicals, causing an allergic reaction. This reaction usually causes symptoms in the nose, lungs, throat, sinuses, ears, lining of the stomach or on the skin. Each type of IgE has specific "radar" for each type of allergen. That's why some people are only allergic to cat dander (they only have the IgE antibodies specific to cat dander); while others have allergic reactions to multiple allergens because they have many more types of IgE antibodies. An allergy is a reaction by your immune system to something that does not bother most other people. People who have allergies often are sensitive to more than one thing. Substances that often cause reactions are Pollen Dust mites Mold spores Pet dander Food Insect stings Medicines Normally, your immune system fights germs. It is your body's defense system. In most allergic reactions, however, it is responding to a false alarm. Genes and the environment probably both play a role. Allergies can cause a variety of symptoms such as a runny nose, sneezing, itching, rashes, swelling, or asthma. Allergies can range from minor to severe. Anaphylaxis is a severe reaction that can be life-threatening. Doctors use skin and blood tests to diagnose allergies. Treatments include medicines, allergy shots, and avoiding the substances that cause the reactions. Allergies An allergy is an immune response or reaction to substances that are usually not harmful. Causes Allergies are very common. Both genes and environment play a role. If both your parents have allergies, there is a good chance that you have them, too. The immune system normally protects the body against harmful substances, such as bacteria and viruses. It also reacts to foreign substances called allergens. These are usually harmless and in most people do not cause a problem. Allergic reactions In a person with allergies, the immune response is oversensitive. When it recognizes an allergen, the immune system launches a response. Chemicals such as histamines are released. These chemicals cause allergy symptoms. Allergic reaction can be provoked by skin contact with poison plants, chemicals and animal scratches, as well as by insect stings. Ingesting or inhaling substances like pollen, animal dander, molds and mildew, dust, nuts and shellfish, may also cause allergic reaction. Medications such as penicillin and other antibiotics are also to be taken with care, to assure an allergic reflex is not triggered. The immune system normally responds to harmful substances such as bacteria, viruses and toxins by producing symptoms such as runny nose and congestion, post-nasal drip and sore throat, and itchy ears and eyes. An allergic reaction can produce the same symptoms in response to substances that are generally harmless, like dust, dander or pollen. The sensitized immune system produces antibodies to these allergens, which cause chemicals called histamines to be released into the bloodstream, causing itching, swelling of affected tissues, mucus production, hives, rashes, and other symptoms. Symptoms vary in severity from person to person.

What are the common skin allergies? - Dr. Sachith Abraham

01:41
The common skin allergies, I divide them into 2 categories, one is drug induced allergies and the other is environmentally related or pollen related, dust related or dust mite related allergies. Dust mite related allergies, the common symptom on the skin is atopic eczema or airborne contact dermatitis. In these are the common allergies which the people see and this comes usually in 2 seasons, once in summer and once in winter these can cause severe itching reactions or eczematous reaction. These are environmental allergens that can cause the allergies. The other common cause for allergies from environmental factors are allergy to certain metals or dyes or pollen or chemicals or certain creams which contain some chemicals called as parabens. These cause external allergic reactions. Drug allergies are another manifest sometimes as fixed drug eruption or drug induced maculopapular rash or sometimes the more serious Steven’s Johnson’s syndrome or the most common toxic epidermal necrolysis. So these are the common skin allergies.

Eczema rash | 8 Root Causes Of Eczema Doctors Never Treat - skin rashes

04:06
Eczema rash | 8 Root Causes Of Eczema Doctors Never Treat - skin rashes. Eczema includes medical conditions in which the skin is inflamed and irritated. The skin disorders cause symptoms like inflammation, dryness, redness, and scaling. Eczema is more common in babies and small children, and only 2-4% of all adults develop eczema at some point in their life. The outer layer of the skin becomes inflamed and damaged, which creates perfect conditions for irritation and sensitivity. Health experts have recognized acute and chronic symptoms: Inflamed skin, Itchiness, Blisters, Peeling, flaking skin, Cuts and cracks caused by dryness, Changes in skin color and texture, Burning caused by irritation, Main causes of eczema: Eczema is usually treated with creams and ointments, but the problem lies deep in the system. The treatment of eczema should start from the core of the problem. Treating the symptoms won’t do the trick, as they will soon come back, and you’ll have to start all over again. We give you some of the most common root causes of eczema: 1. Genes: Your genes carry information, and if you are predisposed to develop eczema, there’s no way to stop it. Mutated genes affect the production of filaggrin, a protein that protects the corneal skin layer. 2. Low sebum production: The skin dries due to insufficient production of natural oils. Genetic factors or poor immunity affect the production of serum. 3. Weak immune system: Low immune system can’t fight inflammation or ward of yeast and bacteria. Medication, autoimmune disorders, untreated infections, nutrient deficiencies, and weak intestinal function can affect the role of your immune system. 4. Allergies: Allergies trigger the release of antibodies and affect the immune response. Some foods, chemical exposure, harsh toxins, perfumes and soaps cause allergies. 5. Toxicity: Smoking and pollution leave traces of toxins in the body, and overtime these buildups manifest on the skin. Excessive use of antibiotics has a devastating effect on the immune system, and lead to toxicity. 6. Climate: People who live in cold countries or developed countries are more prone to eczema, due to dry and cold weather. Pollution and unhealthy dietary habits can also lead to the development of severe skin disorders. 7. Formula: Breastfeeding protects the baby from allergies, unlike formula-fed babies who are more prone to eczema. 8. Vaccines: Scientists are working on specific testing that would determine whether vaccines cause eczema. It may be just a coincidence, but the number of eczema sufferers has multiplied after the use of vaccines increased. This requires further research, and scientists will soon confirm the link between vaccines and eczema. Tips on how to treat eczema: Scratching can additionally worsen your problem, so try not to do it. Don’t peel dried skin either, as this may cause open sores and bacterial infections. Carefully pick your food. The same applies to skin care products and cleaning products, because some of the ingredients may cause allergies. Eat more foods packed with anti-inflammatory foods to strengthen your immune system. Use homemade eczema creams based on natural ingredients. Different Types of Rashes

04:38
Different Types of Rashes. What Causes Rashes?. Rashes are one of the most common reasons that parents of small children visit the doctor. In most cases rashes do not indicate a dangerous condition, but in some cases they do. If a child is in good general health and has no other symptoms, you can simply observe the rash for a few days. Many types of rashes will disappear without treatment. If the rash is accompanied by high fever, breathing difficulties, vomiting, or reduced general health (when the child is not acting right), take your child to see a doctor, as it is often difficult to describe rashes over the telephone. One type of rash can have different causes, so let the doctor note what the rash looks like, how widespread it is, how many and how big the marks are, how long the rash has been present, and whether it is itchy. Rashes Caused By Allergies: Hives. The most common allergic rash is hives, an extremely itchy rash that consists of raised large welts on the surface of the body, often circular with a pale center. Hives can result from an allergic reaction to medicines, foods, viral infections, or insect stings and bites. The rash moves around the body and usually lasts for three to four days before disappearing. Localized hives usually indicates direct skin contact with a substance that the person isn't able to tolerate, such as plants, pollen, or foods. Localized Infections With Rashes: Infected Wounds. An infected wound occurs when a minor wound from a skin irritation, scratch, cut, or bite becomes infected by bacteria on the surface of the skin, on the mucous membranes, or from external sources. The wound becomes red and moist, pus and yellowish scabs appear, and the surrounding skin becomes swollen and tender because of inflammation. A child's lymphatic nodes may become swollen in the surrounding area and a fever may develop. If the child scratches the wound, bacteria may spread on the skin and give rise to more sores. Impetigo. Impetigo can occur on any part of the body that has a wound or break in the skin. A rash usually results from a scratch, bite, or minor irritation that has become infected with streptococcus or staphylococcus bacteria. The wound becomes red and moist, with pus and eventually yellowish scabs. If a child scratches the wound, the bacteria may spread on the skin and cause more sores that develop over the course of a few days and last four to six days before drying up and forming scabs. It is usually treated with topical or oral antibiotics. Impetigo Symptoms and Treatment: Cellulitis. Cellulitis is a localized skin infection caused by streptococcus bacteria. The skin becomes swollen, hot, and red in one area that is clearly delineated from healthy skin. Often, there is no obvious entry point in the skin for the bacteria. Sometimes it can be accompanied by fever and a reduced general condition. Cellulitis should be evaluated and treated promptly, as the infection may spread rapidly. Cellulitis Treatment and Symptoms: Fungal Rash. Fungal rashes are skin infections caused by two specific types of fungi: tinea and candida. Tinea infections, also known as ringworm, are oval or ring-shaped lesions with normal-looking skin in the middle and an itchy, scaly, and slightly raised edge around it. The rash can be found on the scalp, face, body, or nails. Candida infections may occur in babies as oral thrush, as a white coating on the tongue or mouth mucosa or as a shiny, red rash in the diaper region (infected diaper rash). Candida infections may occur in children of any age. They are usually located in the folds of moist skin, such as under a baby's chin or the cracked skin between toes, accompanied by itching and sometimes nail discoloration (athlete's foot). Allergic Rhinitis Symptoms | Seasonal Allergy Symptoms [2018]

I'm going to give you an extensive overview of allergic rhinitis symptoms and seasonal allergy symptoms in this video. Do spring flowers and bright blue skies give you a runny nose and itching eyes? Subscribe so you’ll never miss my latest videos. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCBve_ppCNE67fs3MsIocitg?sub_confirmation=1 Be sure to follow me on: Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/dr.frita/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Dr.Frita Twitter: https://twitter.com/DrFrita Ah yes. We complain all through the bitter cold winter, and we can't wait to get to the warm spring. But for many people, April showers bring May flowers and seasonal allergy symptoms or allergic rhinitis. What is allergic rhinitis? Rhinitis is the inflammation of the nasal passages or upper airways. It causes symptoms such as a runny nose, stuffy nose, itchy throat, and it can lead to the melodious spring sounds. Allergic rhinitis can occur at any age, but it most commonly presents in children and in young adults. You are at increased risk for allergic rhinitis if you have a family member with seasonal allergies or if you have asthma or eczema. If you have allergic rhinitis, you are not alone, because over 20 million Americans also have allergic rhinitis. The actress and singer, Scarlett Johansson, who has starred in multiple Marvel movies, including The Avengers, Iron Man 2, Captain America, well, she also suffers from seasonal allergies, and the actor, Orlando Bloom, also has allergic rhinitis. You know him, of course. You've seen him in the Lord of the Rings and the Pirates of the Caribbean. What causes allergic rhinitis? Allergic rhinitis is caused by small airborne particles that trigger the immune system. These particles are called allergens. This is what happens in your body. You walk outside. You inhale the nice spring air. As you inhale it, you notice your car that you just got washed yesterday is now covered with that bright yellow-green pollen. As you have inhaled spring's nature, you have also inhaled some particles of pollen, a tiny airborne particle. This pollen, or an allergen, now triggers your immune system. It triggers an inflammation in your nasal passages by releasing immune cells, such as mast cells and basophils. These cells stimulate the release of histamines which cause the inflammation in your nasal passages. Once you have this inflammation, it then causes you to have nasal congestion or stuffiness. It can cause a runny nose. It can cause an itching in the back of your throat or in your ears. It can also cause postnasal drip, which is the sensation that mucus is just dripping from the back of your nose to the back of your throat. These are those symptoms of allergic rhinitis. As your immune system continues to be triggered, these symptoms can spread from just your nasal passages on into your lower airways or your lungs. You can then get inflammation in your lungs which can cause shortness of breath or wheezing. You can also get symptoms in your eyes from your immune system. Red eyes, itching eyes, running eyes. All of these things happen with allergic rhinitis which is triggered by allergens. What are some other allergens that trigger allergic rhinitis? We mentioned pollen, but also there's ragweed, mold, grass, trees, dust mites, pet dander or the hair from those lovable, adorable pets of yours, like cats and dogs. Also, beautiful spring flowers can be allergens that trigger allergic rhinitis. You can imagine that a beautiful green golf course has many of the allergens I just mentioned, which is why it's quite interesting that Tiger Woods has been reported to have seasonal allergies. Allergic rhinitis treatment or seasonal allergies remedies? Allergic Rhinitis can usually be diagnosed with a good history and physical from your physician, but if you are a person who has difficult to treat symptoms, you may require certain blood tests or allergy testing or skin testing. How do you treat allergic rhinitis? Well, since allergic rhinitis is caused by allergens which trigger your immune system, the best Allergic Rhinitis treatment is simply to avoid the allergens. This video discusses allergic rhinitis symptoms, allergic rhinitis treatment or seasonal allergy symptoms.

Home Remedies for Hives | Allergic reaction hives 2015 Also, hives can occur when you get too hot while spending time outside on a summer day, are exposed to ice cold water, or as a result of stress. Moreover, many cases of hives are idiopathic, meaning that there is no known cause for the condition. Home Remedies for Hives | Allergic reaction hives 2015 Hives rashes usually have clearly defined edges, appear in varying shapes and sizes, and can be very itchy. They may appear within minutes of exposure to a trigger, or you can have a delayed reaction of more than two hours. Home Remedies for Hives | Allergic reaction hives 2015 While hives can be uncomfortable, they are usually harmless and will disappear within a few hours or days. However, you can always explore your kitchen and garden for some simple natural remedies to get relief from the symptoms. Home Remedies for Hives | Allergic reaction hives 2015 1. Cold Compress Most skin allergy specialists suggest cold compresses as the best topical natural remedy for hives. Cold temperature helps shrink the blood vessels and block further release of histamine. This in turn alleviates swelling, inflammation and itching. Home Remedies for Hives | Allergic reaction hives 2015 Wrap some ice cubes in a cloth. Place it over the affected skin for 10 minutes at a time, three or four times a day. You can also take a cool bath or shower as needed to calm skin inflamed by hives. Note: Never put ice directly on the skin. Home Remedies for Hives | Allergic reaction hives 2015 2. Baking Soda Baking soda is another popular remedy for hives. Its anti-inflammatory properties help reduce inflammation as well as itching. Home Remedies for Hives | Allergic reaction hives 2015 Add one-half to one cup of baking soda to a bathtub filled with warm water. Mix it in well and then soak in this water for 20 to 30 minutes. Alternatively, put two tablespoons of baking soda in a small bowl. Add enough water to make a thick paste. Spread the paste on the affected area. Leave it on for 10 minutes before rinsing it off with warm water. You can use either of these remedies once daily or as needed. Apple Cider Vinegar Apple cider vinegar is another good remedy for hives. Its antihistamine properties will help relieve inflammation quickly and regulate the body’s immune system response. It also plays a key role in restoring your overall skin health. Home Remedies for Hives | Allergic reaction hives 2015 Add two cups of apple cider vinegar to a bathtub filled with warm water. Soak in it for 15 to 20 minutes once daily. Alternatively, dilute apple cider vinegar with an equal amount of water and use it to wash the affected skin two or three times a day. You can also mix one to two teaspoons of apple cider vinegar in a glass of water. Add a little lemon juice and honey to improve the taste. Drink this three times daily. What Causes Seasonal Allergies?

Allergies have been the prime cause of round about 60 million persons getting sick with numerous diseases every season including myself! If you are trying to pick between Zyrtec, Allegra and Claritin for treating your allergic conditions, you may as well reach a conclusion that a study or poll could provide you with some kind of plausible answers. However, the problem with polls is that they aren't often based on scientific facts or findings. All medications work well, but each of them affect differently to different people. Infant Allergies | Baby Care Basics | Parents

01:31
Watch as Parents Magazine explains these baby care basics! Seasonal allergies may not kick in until your baby is around 1 year old, but more common allergies may be at play. Here are three clues that could mean your little one is suffering from baby allergies. Constant sneezing or sniffling and clear mucus without being accompanied by a fever are all telltale symptoms of allergies. Red and itchy eyes or skin could mean he has some eye or skin allergies. Sometimes these baby allergies target the eyes and skin before affecting the nose and lungs. The final sign to look out for is a family history of allergies. Parents who have allergies are more likely to pass them on to their babies, but their triggers may be different than yours or your spouse's. Closing windows on high pollen days and dusting and vacuuming regularly can reduce the amount of allergens in your home. If an air purifier with a hepa filter doesn't seem to be doing the trick, a trusted doctor can help you find the best treatment options based on your unique baby's needs! Detox for Eczema pt.2

CAUSES: Atopic dermatitis is due to a skin reaction (similar to an allergy) in the skin. The reaction leads to ongoing swelling and redness. People with atopic dermititis may be more sensitive because their skin lacks certain proteins. Atopic dermatitis is most common in infants. It may start as early as age 2 to 6 months. Many people outgrow it by early adulthood. People with atopic dermatitis often have asthma or seasonal allergies. There is often a family history of allergies such as asthma, hay fever, or eczema. People with atopic dermatitis often test positive to allergy skin tests. However, atopic dermatitis is not caused by allergies. The following can make atopic dermatitis symptoms worse: Allergies to pollen, mold, dust mites, or animals Cold and dry air in the winter Colds or the flu Contact with irritants and chemicals Contact with rough materials, such as wool Dry skin Emotional stress Drying out of the skin from taking too many baths or showers and swimming too often Getting too hot or too cold, as well as sudden changes of temperature Perfumes or dyes added to skin lotions or soaps SYMPTOMS: Skin changes may include: Blisters with oozing and crusting Dry skin all over the body or areas of bumpy skin on the back of the arms and front of the thighs Ear discharge or bleeding Raw areas of the skin from scratching Skin coloring changes, such as more or less color than the normal skin tone Skin redness or inflammation around the blisters Thickened or leather-like areas (called lichenification), which can occur after long-term irritation and scratching The type and location of the rash can depend on the age of the patient: In children younger than age 2, skin lesions begin on the face, scalp, hands, and feet. The rash is often itchy and bubble, ooze, or form crusts. In older children and adults, the rash is more often seen on the inside of the knees and elbow. It can also appear on the neck, hands, and feet. Rashes may occur anywhere on the body during a bad outbreak. Intense itching is common. Itching may start even before the rash appears. Atopic dermatitis is often called the "itch that rashes" because the itching starts, and then the skin rash follows as a result of scratching. How to Tell Your Dog Has Allergies

01:33
Dog Allergy Symptoms - as part of the series on dogs and pets by GeoBeats. Hello, my name is Dr. Carolyn Quagliata. I am the owner and founder of City Pet Doctor. I am here to talk about the most common allergies in dogs. The first is food allergies. Food allergies in dogs manifest as vomiting, diarrhea and lack of appetite. Dogs are actually allergic to the protein source in the food, so usually it is a specific type of meat whether it be chicken, beef, fish, venison, rabbit: the list goes on. The second is seasonal allergies also known as atopy. These dogs present as having very itchy skin, red skin. A lot of times they will lose their hair and they also get secondary infections. Usually it is a result of certain types of pollen that accumulate in the air at that time. The third is flea allergies. The name speaks for itself but these allergies present very similar to the seasonal allergies or atopy. The important thing to keep in mind is that an allergic dog can have a combination of all the types of allergies that I listed. For example, they can be food allergic and also have atopy. So the important thing is that if your dog is experiencing any chronic symptoms whether it be vomiting, diarrhea, itchy skin or red skin make sure you talk to your Vet and so that your dog can get treated and be much more comfortable.

How to Deal with Itchy Winter Skin

Here's how. Step 1: Switch to baths Switch to baths; showers strip more of your skin's natural oils. Don't make them too hot or too long; both can dry out skin. Step 2: Use bath oil and mild soap Pour bath oil into your tub, and wash with a mild, non-deodorant, fragrance-free soap. Tip You can also use a bath treatment that contains oatmeal. Step 3: Moisturize Moisturize as soon as you step out of the bath, after gently patting your body with a towel. Reapply during the day – especially before going into the blustery outdoors – and before you go to bed at night. Tip Choose moisturizer that contains glycerin, hyaluronic acid, or feverfew. Step 4: Wear soft clothes Avoid clothing and bedding made from wool, synthetic materials, and wool blends. Layer clothes to avoid overheating and sweating, which make dry skin worse. Step 5: Turn down the thermostat Reduce the drying effects of central heating by lowering the thermostat to between 68 and 72 degrees Fahrenheit. Put on a sweater if that's too chilly for you. Step 6: Humidify Add moisture to indoor air with a humidifier. Or make a homemade one by putting a heatproof bowl filled with on top of a radiator or near a heating vent. Step 7: See a doctor See a doctor if you itch all over your body, it's so bad that you can't sleep, or your skin is broken from scratching so much; these are all signs that you may have a more serious medical condition. Did You Know? Skin is 30 percent less supple in winter thanks to cold air and the drying effects of indoor heating.

IgE blood test for allergy explain in Hindi

04:25
1-what is Ige test 2-Ige test results interpretation 3-allergy test name 4-What does a high IgE level mean? 5-What does IgE mean on a blood test? Immunoglobulin E (IgE) is an antibody that is produced by the body’s immune system in response to a perceived threat. It is one of five classes of immunoglobulins (A, G, M, D, and E) and is normally present in the blood in very small amounts. This test measures the amount of IgE in the blood. An increased total IgE level indicates that it is likely that a person has one or more allergies. Allergen-specific IgE levels will increase after an exposure and then decline over time, thus affecting the total IgE level. If a person is allergic to a seasonal substance, such as pollen, then both the specific IgE and total IgE would be expected to increase during the time of year when the allergen is present. If someone has one or more food allergies, then the total IgE level would mirror exposures to these foods. If someone is allergic to something that they are constantly around, such as mold in a house or cat dander, then the total IgE level may be persistently increased. An elevated level of total IgE indicates an allergic process is likely present, but it will not indicate what a person is allergic to. In general, the greater the number of things a person is allergic to, the higher the total IgE level may be. An IgE elevation can also indicate the presence of a parasitic infection but cannot be used to determine the type of infection. vit b12 test-https://youtu.be/SpxLAeoJ8HU Uric acid test-https://youtu.be/0e5anNu1LFY Hba1c test-https://youtu.be/R2A61IfNXRw Lipid profile-https://youtu.be/Cdh7as8Uluk thyriod profile-https://youtu.be/1bXoZOrm5oI LFT test-https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xxmfq...
