Pseudobulbar Affect (Pathological Laughter)

02:54
My buddy, Scott, as he gets overcome by a fit of unprovoked and uncontrollable laughter. Fortunately this episode occurred in the relatively private confines of my vehicle, but other times can be less appropriate (out for lunch, during meetings, sex, etc.). This rare, often painful symptom of multiple sclerosis is also known commonly as pathological laughter, or in medical terminology, as Pseudobulbar Affect.

WHAT ARE ANXIETY DISORDERS? - Mental health psychology about stress, fear & treatment by Kati Morton

12:28
Anxiety disorders are the most common mental illnesses, affecting 19 million children and adults in the U.S., reports the Anxiety Disorders Association of America (ADAA). ADAA also reports that the ailment consumes almost a third of the total $148 billion total mental health bill for the nation. That's not surprising, given people with anxiety disorder are three to five times more likely to go to the doctor, and six times more likely than non-sufferers to be hospitalized for psychiatric ailments. Although anxiety disorder describes a group of illnesses such as generalized anxiety disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, panic disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, and phobias, there are some symptoms that characterize the illness as a whole. According to the American Psychiatric Association, when people suffering from anxiety disorders talk about their condition, they often include these descriptions: Unrealistic or excessive worry Exaggerated startled reactions Sleep disturbances Jitteriness Fatigue Dry mouth Lump in throat Trembling Sweating Racing or pounding heart In the workplace, these symptoms could translate into difficulty working with colleagues and clients, trouble concentrating, preoccupation over the fear instead of focusing on work, and turning down assignments because of fear of failure, flying, going in to the elevator, or public speaking. For people who think they might have anxiety disorder, Jeffrey P. Kahn, MD, a clinical psychiatrist and author of Mental Health and Productivity in the Workplace, recommends the following first steps of action: Talk about the problem with someone you feel comfortable with. Also ask that person what he or she notices about you. Take a break from your worry by playing sports, listening to music, praying, or meditating. Join a self-help group. If talking about the problem or relaxation techniques don't work, seek professional consultation. Anxiety disorder is an umbrella term that covers several different forms of a type of common psychiatric disorder characterized by excessive rumination, worrying, uneasiness, apprehension and fear about future uncertainties either based on real or imagined events, which may affect both physical and psychological health. There are numerous psychiatric and medical syndromes which may mimic the symptoms of an anxiety disorder such as hyperthyroidism which may be misdiagnosed as generalized anxiety disorder. Individuals diagnosed with an anxiety disorder may be classified in one of two categories; based on whether they experience continuous or episodic symptoms. Current psychiatric diagnostic criteria recognize a wide variety of anxiety disorders. Recent surveys have found that as many as 18% of Americans and 14% of Europeans may be affected by one or more of them. The term anxiety covers four aspects of experiences an individual may have: mental apprehension, physical tension, physical symptoms and dissociative anxiety.Anxiety disorder is divided into generalized anxiety disorder, phobic disorder, and panic disorder; each has its own characteristics and symptoms and they require different treatment (Gelder et al. 2005). The emotions present in anxiety disorders range from simple nervousness to bouts of terror (Barker 2003). Standardized screening clinical questionnaires such as the Taylor Manifest Anxiety Scale or the Zung Self-Rating Anxiety Scale can be used to detect anxiety symptoms, and suggest the need for a formal diagnostic assessment of anxiety disorder. Contamination OCD - Ella loses control at school..

05:59
Ella's been making good progress with controlling her OCD. It hasn't been easy being in high school with this illness - but it's just about to get even harder when the most popular girl accidentally gets involved. Thanks for watching our video! In case anyone wants to see the script, it's right here for you: SCRIPT Most people at my school look forward to lunchtime, but it's the scariest time of day for me. Luckily, we manage to avoid the rush. My best friend, Sophie, and I sit at a small table near the edge of the food hall. I watch as more students flood in and start queueing up to get their lunch. Some of them are messing around, pushing each other and laughing. Even Jennifer, the most popular girl in school who actually hates me, is in the queue just giggling and flirting with all the boys. I've started bringing my lunch from home instead. "Ella?" Sophie breaks my train of thought. "I asked you how the maths paper went…" That morning we were given a practice maths test. The pressure is on for our real exams which are taking place in a few months. "Could have been better, I'm so behind." "Ah don't worry! There's still time to catch up. You're doing great being back here!" Sophie tries to reassure me. She's right. I have been doing much better recently, this time last year I couldn't have made it into school at all. I notice Jennifer and her friends sit down at a table close to ours. I shift in my seat. Those girls make me feel so uncomfortable; they just think I'm a weirdo. They start talking loudly about the maths paper and we can't help but overhear. "I should have done well! I was going totally crazy in there, seriously OCD, checking everything." Jennifer's sharp voice rings in my ears, she's laughing. I feel frozen, stuck to my chair. Sophie's concerned eyes meet mine. "It's okay!" I lie, speaking quietly so that only Sophie will hear. "I just need to get out of here for a minute." I hurry out of the hall. All of a sudden everything seems so overwhelming, there are too many people talking and eating. I silently pray that the bathroom is empty. Fortunately, there's no one else around. I stare at myself in the mirror, I'm trembling. I have contamination OCD. Feelings from last year come rushing back; I'm terrified of getting ill. I wring my hands, they must be dirty already. Mentally I start listing everything that I've touched throughout the morning, so many germs. I've probably also touched my hair, clothes, maybe even my face. By now, I'm dirty all over - contaminated. I pull a paper towel from the dispenser, and discard it. Maybe somebody touched that one. I take another, and use it to turn on the tap. I start washing my hands, scrubbing quite hard. I feel sick which only scares me more, even though logically I know that nausea is a daily side effect of my medication. I try to breath. What am I doing? It's so frustrating. This all started when I was around 11 or 12. Nothing traumatic happened; the doctors eventually said that my OCD was triggered by puberty, a chemical imbalance in my brain. At first it wasn't a big deal, people just thought I was odd. I liked things to be a certain way. I started showering before and after school, but I was still functioning fairly normally. Around my 14th birthday it started getting worse. I would spend hours washing myself. My mum caught me about to take bleach into the shower, that’s when we went to the doctor. But I am better now, I'm coping. I don't know why Jennifer's words are throwing me off like this. People say that kind of thing all the time - it's just a silly phrase. I spend a few more moments composing myself and finally turn off the tap. No paper towel. I better go and find Sophie, she's probably worried. I walk out of the bathroom and turn back towards the food hall. Suddenly, someone bumps into me, trying to grab me to avoid falling. Horror courses through me. A girl is touching me, pulling at my clothes. I scream and stumble backwards, recoiling. The girl falls to her knees. I stare open-mouthed, mortified. It's Jennifer. "Oh my god, I'm so sorry" I stammer. But, I'm already retreating back into the bathroom. I start desperately ripping off my jumper. Jennifer follows me, her face threatening. My jumper has fallen to the floor and I'm frantically washing my hands again. Jennifer stares at me as though I've completely lost my mind. Oh god, maybe I have. "What the hell is wrong with you? I'm not diseased or anything you freak." Her voice is hard and cruel. Tears are sliding down my face. I want to explain that I can’t help it; it's like a reflex for me to avoid human contact. But, I can't. "I'm sorry" I sob again.

5 Tips for dealing with TOXIC PEOPLE - Mental Health with Kati Morton

06:44
How do we deal with toxic people in our lives? I offer up 5 tips on how to better manage those relationships that leave us feeling worse rather than better. 1. Set boundaries! I know that this is can be really hard to do and many of you have told me that you feel mean or bad for doing this. Trust me, you will feel so much better once you have set up some limits as to when you will talk to them and how long you will be around them. 2. Asserting ourselves and telling them what we need. This doesn't mean we are being rude or mean, it just means we are clearly communicating what we need to them in hopes that they will hear you and change the way they interact with us. 3. Use your support system! Those people who love us and support us and make us feel better... yeah them! Spend time with them so that you can recharge your batteries and take care of yourself. 4. Model the behavior that you want to see from the toxic person. This may mean talking about what's going on with you and then acknowledging that you have been talking for awhile and it's time to hear about what's going on with them. You could even go as far as explaining that you prefer it when your conversations are not just one sided. 5. Lastly, cutting them off. I know this can sound harsh, but if you have tried the other things and they have not worked to correct it, it may be best to just cut them off. I can honestly say that as I have gotten older, I find less and less time for those emotional vampires. I prefer to be around people who build me up, not tear me down, and so cutting them off completely may be the healthiest thing you can do. I hope you found this information helpful. I know how hard it can be to have toxic people in our lives, especially if they are a parent or long term friend. I know doing some of these things is hard, but please take the time to try them out. It may be awkward in the moment, but trust me, you will feel better later on! xox WEBSITE http://www.katimorton.com TWITTER http://www.twitter.com/katimorton FACEBOOK http://www.facebook.com/katimorton1 TUMBLR http://www.katimorton.tumblr.com PINTEREST http://www.pinterest.com/katimorton1 HELP! Bipolar Disorder and Friendships

09:54
Friendships can be difficult to maintain when someone is struggling with bipolar disorder or any mental health condition. For one thing, we tend to isolate ourselves. Then there’s the feelings of shame, embarrassment and fear of judgment that come along when thinking about disclosing your mental illness to friends and loved ones. I’ve experienced losing friends once they knew I had bipolar depression and I know others who have too. (Bipolar as Love Thief - http://ow.ly/TbrG306mBGN ) In this video on bipolar disorder and friendships, I talk with one of my closest friends, Courtney. We were best friends in high school. After my bipolar breakdown, I left for college. Two years later, I entered a mental hospital and was diagnosed with bipolar 2. (My Mental Hospital Experience video - https://youtu.be/bOfy2ry5ZT4 ) I had completely abandoned her. How could I face my friend and say, “I’ve been in a psychiatric hospital.”? I kept a low profile for a year and then, out of the blue, reconnected with Courtney. We have been best friends ever since. Oh! But I didn't come forward about my hospitalization or diagnosis of bipolar until years after we reconnected. I thought I was helping her, and all my friends, by keeping quiet. However, as I have learned after opening this conversation, I was actually hurting them. When I would go through a depressive episode, I would withdraw from Courtney. This made her feel like an inadequate friend and left her questioning our friendship on-and-off for years. Over the last two years, I have opened up to my friends about my bipolar disorder diagnosis and allowed them to speak freely on the subject. Courtney, just like the majority of society, had a different idea of what a mental health condition, such as bipolar, looked like. After I came forward, Courtney’s perspective on mental health began to change. Over time, I have learned a lot about friendship. I realized that I did not take the time to acknowledge or explain what had happened to me, prior to and after my bipolar breakdown. This was selfish of me. I was consumed by my own pain and didn’t think of the pain I was causing others. My friendships, like the one I have with Courtney, have opened my eyes to a different perspective on mental health. Courtney has learned to not let my depressive episodes or hypomania affect her. My friends may not fully understand my mental health condition and I have accepted this. True friends embrace each other's differences and support one another no matter the circumstances. Has your bipolar disorder caused you to ignore friends or cause difficulty in maintaining relationships. I hope you’ll comment. It’s an important subject to talk about. Can I recover from depression without seeing someone? Website/YouTube Wednesday! #KatiFAQ

10:08
Help make subtitles http://www.amara.org/en/videos/YNXTKwb1YFJ8/info/ 1. Kati, what do you think about two people with mental illnesses dating one another? I suffer from bpd and major depression and my partner has ptsd and sometimes it seems like the symptoms of our disorders trigger each other, but we also know how to understand and take care of each other during more depressive episodes. Also, he’s in therapy and on meds and I’m not anymore and my symptoms have been relapsing. When two people with mental illness are in a relationship how do they both navigate and dissect their negative voices and distorted thinking from what’s really going on? I don’t want to be a martyr or self sabotage or push him away because I really love him, but I’m afraid of being a hinder to his recovery too. Could our relationship be healthy and safe even if at the moment I’m not? Help… 2. #katifaq hi kati I’ve somehow managed to get back in touch with a friend I went to school with. Now I haven’t got any friends and we picked up really well. She although could see my self esteem is low! Asked me why. I tried to say something but I panicked and said I can’t talk about this and changed the subject. What do I do? She has known me since I was 12. Too long, how to repair a friendship please. 3. #katiFAQ Is it possible to get out of a depression without seeing a therapist or using meds? i've seen your video about signs of depression (& other similar videos) & i match all of the signs, it has been going on for a year & it keeps getting worse , and there's no cause for this depression ( no traumatic event or abuse or something like that). Ps: i don't have the courage to come forward & see a therapist & i don't want to be treated with meds. Please help Journal Topic: Thanks Rachel I recently purchased the book “This I Believe.” It is made up of essays from people of all walks of life answering the essay prompt “This i believe.” I thought it could be interesting to talk about. I feel like when one is struggling with any form of mental illness it is so had to remember who we are or what we stand for. But try to answer this question. There are no wrong answers and it can be as simple or complicated as you want. Here is mine: “I believe in truth. I believe that love can have the power to transcend. To breakthrough the walls you believe are built for protection, but that only lead to war within your thoughts. I believe that someday, someone out there will make me believe that their love can surpass my uncertainty, my vulnerability, my scars. The 5 Signs Your Child Needs Speech Therapy

09:10
Today I sit down with my friend Catherine as she helps us understand the 5 signs that your child may need speech therapy. The 5 signs are: 1. Lack of social interaction. This doesn't mean that they don't have any friends. This means that they struggle to make eye contact and engage with others. 2. Very limited words and sounds. They should be trying out different words and babbles. 3. People other than you cannot understand what your child is saying. It is common for you to understand them more easily, but as they begin interacting with other children and adults they should be able to make out what they are trying to say. This red flag is when there is no way someone else can understand them. 4.By 2 years old, they haven't started to combine words. Such as "momma come" or "I go". Very simple word combinations. 5. Child struggles to make or imitate sounds. Usually this has to do with hard sounds (ones that you cannot see someone make, or are made in the throat). I know that is can be so incredibly difficult as a parent to accept or admit that something is not perfect with your child, but know that the sooner we get them help, the better! Many children struggle with speech when they are young, but if we get them the proper help, those issues will go away. I hope that some of these red flags helped you to better understand what to look for so that you can get your child the help that he or she needs. xox ⬇️ LINKS BELOW ⬇️ __ ▶️ FIND KATI ◀️ OFFICIAL SITE ➡️ http://www.katimorton.com TWITTER ➡️ http://www.twitter.com/katimorton FACEBOOK ➡️ http://www.facebook.com/katimorton1 TUMBLR ➡️ http://www.katimorton.tumblr.com PINTEREST ➡️ http://www.pinterest.com/katimorton1 __ ▶️ HELP! ◀️ SUBTITLE VIDEOS ➡️ http://goo.gl/OZOQXi ➡️ WE NEED YOUR HELP! Conversation on Trauma & Spirituality

01:17:14
A panel with with Scott Kiloby, Richard Miller and Russ Hudson; facilitated by Julie Yau. A profound and intrinsic relationship exists between trauma and spirituality that can foster emotional maturity and psychospiritual growth. The survival response embedded within trauma has the potential to catalyze authentic spiritual transformation. Similarly, as our essential wholeness is rediscovered on a spiritual path, trauma can be met with greater compassion and an appreciation of the interconnectedness to self, nature, and the cosmos. Spiritual realizations can allow us fearlessly to touch into the death-like void that is often at the root of trauma. When early trauma, dissociation, and/or intergenerational trauma has occurred, however, the spiritual path can be an unconscious means of avoiding the resolution of trauma and full embodiment. The panel members will discuss their views and insights on the seeming two paths and the significance of recognizing the importance of uniting them for our overall well being, increased consciousness, and spiritual unfolding.

What is TRAUMA THERAPY? Psychology & mental health treatment with Kati Morton licensed therapist

13:57
What is trauma therapy? What is resilience and more importantly, what is the goal of trauma therapy? Today I talk with trauma specialist Dr. Alexa Altman about all things trauma therapy and wellness. We decided to start by defining trauma. Trauma is when we are bumped out of our resilient zone, meaning that we do not have the tools to calm ourselves back down and keep moving forward. Instead we may go into fight, flight or freeze in order to get through it. Our fight and flight responses are what mobilizes us to protect ourselves. It helps in the moment, but if that response continues for a long time and we don't get any reprieve from it, that would be when we would diagnose PTSD or C-PTSD. If we are unable to run away or fight back we may go into a freeze response. Alexa explains this as dissociation or feeling like we are cut off from all that is going on. Just like fight or flight, this helps us survive what is going on because the other 2 options are not available. The whole goal of trauma therapy is to practice bringing ourself out of fight ,flight or freeze and back into the resilient zone. The more we do that the better we get at it and the larger our resilient zone gets. Then we are able to handle more and more life stressors without getting thrown off or bumped out of our resilient zone. I hope this was helpful, and as always please share! Alexa and I filmed many more videos that will come out each Monday this month! My hope is that her expertise helps you better understand trauma and how we can work to overcome it. xox My video on EMDR: https://youtu.be/HhaWIVK6ERI MERCH! https://store.dftba.com/collections/kati-morton PATREON https://www.patreon.com/katimorton WEBSITE http://www.katimorton.com TWITTER http://www.twitter.com/katimorton FACEBOOK http://www.facebook.com/katimorton1 TUMBLR http://www.katimorton.tumblr.com PINTEREST http://www.pinterest.com/katimorton1 HELP! Prince Harry says his body felt like a 'washing machine' as he describes phobia

05:02
My panic attacks left my heart thumping: Prince Harry says his body felt like a 'washing machine' as he describes phobia he suffered after the death of his mother. Prince Harry has described in detail the panic attacks he suffered because of the death of his late mother, saying his body felt like a 'washing machine'. In an interview to publicise the forthcoming Invictus Games, a Paralympic-style event he devised for injured service personnel, the Queen's grandson said he would become ill 'every single time' he found himself in a room full of people. Speaking to Forces TV, he said: 'When you can get your own head and self back on the right path, the amount of people you can help is unbelievable, because you can tell the signs in people. You can see it in their eyes. You can see it in them, their reactions. 'In my case, suit and tie, every single time I was in any room with loads of people, which is quite often, I was just pouring with sweat, like heart beating – boom, boom, boom, boom - and literally just like a washing machine. 'I was like, 'Oh my God, get me out of here now. Oh, hang on, I can't get out of here, I have got to just hide it.' Earlier this year the fifth in line to the throne admitted for the first time that he had sought professional help for his mental health issues at the age of 28 after what he described as 'two years of total chaos'. It was during this period he first began to suffer panic attacks during royal engagements and was feeling 'on the verge of punching someone'. Since conquering his own demons, the Prince has turned his focus to publicly helping others battling mental health illness, along with his brother and sister-in-law. Speaking to his friend, Dave Henson, a double amputee and former Invictus competitor who went on to win bronze at the Rio Paralympics, the prince said: 'You go through all that stuff and then you met other lads who are on a similar journey or the similarities are there. 'You help yourself so you can help others. That is hugely powerful. 'So many people are, you know, like slightly mental. Awesome! We are, we are all mental and we have all got to deal with our stuff. 'Rather than running around at 50 per cent capacity, imagine if we could run around at 100 per cent capacity. Imagine what we could achieve.' Harry, 32, also reveals in the interview how fighting in Afghanistan was the 'trigger' that finally forced him to deal with his mother's death, which happened 20 years ago this August. The prince, who was 12 at the time, went on to graduate from Sandhurst and undertook two frontline tours of Afghanistan, finally leaving the forces after ten years. He said: 'Once I plucked my head out of the sand post-Afghan - yes, it had a huge life-changing moment for me as well. Source: http://www.dailymail.co.uk

Brain Damage by Pink Floyd

03:58
From Wikipedia: Roger Waters has stated that the insanity-themed lyrics are based on former Floyd frontman Syd Barrett's mental instability, with the line "I'll see you on the dark side of the moon" indicating that Waters felt that he related to Barrett in terms of mental idiosyncrasies. The line "And if the band you're in starts playing different tunes..." is referential to Syd Barrett's behaviour towards the end of his tenure with the band; because of his mental problems, there were more than a few occasions where Barrett would play a different song than the rest of the band in the middle of a performance. The song features a rather famous opening line, "The lunatic is on the grass...", whereby Waters is referring to areas of turf which display signs saying "Please keep off the grass" with the exaggerated implication that the disobeying of such signs might be an indication of insanity. The tongue in cheek nature of the lyrics is further emphasized by Waters' assertion in the 2003 documentary "Classic Albums: The Making of The Dark Side of the Moon" that not letting people on such beautiful grass was the real insanity. The line, "Got to keep the loonies on the path" supports this, suggesting the social rule that people must not walk off the path and step onto the grass, but conform to the standards of normal 'sane' society. Incidentally, Waters has said that the particular patch of grass he had in mind when writing was to the rear of Kings College, Cambridge. The German literary scholar and media theorist Friedrich Kittler attaches great relevance to the song, referring to its lyrics as well as to its technological arrangement. For him, the three verses stage the (sound) technological evolution from mono to stereo, culminating in total, "maddening" surround sound. Lyrics: The lunatic is on the grass. The lunatic is on the grass. Remembering games and daisy chains and laughs. Got to keep the loonies on the path. The lunatic is in the hall. The lunatics are in my hall. The paper holds their folded faces to the floor And every day the paper boy brings more. And if the dam breaks open many years too soon And if there is no room upon the hill And if your head explodes with dark forebodings too I'll see you on the dark side of the moon. The lunatic is in my head. The lunatic is in my head You raise the blade, you make the change You re-arrange me 'til I'm sane. You lock the door And throw away the key There's someone in my head but it's not me. And if the cloud bursts, thunder in your ear You shout and no one seems to hear. And if the band you're in starts playing different tunes I'll see you on the dark side of the moon.

SELF ESTEEM :: 6 Actions You Can Take Every Day to Build Your Self Confidence

04:18
6 Actions You Can Take Every Day to Build Your Self Confidence. Check Out My Channel (https://goo.gl/MQA6z9) ............................... 6 Actions You Can Take Every Day to Build Your Self-Confidence. Even the greatest leaders lack self-confidence at certain times. Self-confidence is not a static quality; rather, it’s a mindset that takes the effort to maintain when the going gets rough. It must be learned, practiced and mastered just like any other skill. But once you master it, you will be changed for the better. Here are six effective ways to promote your own self-confidence. 1. Act the part. Your body language can instantly demonstrate self-assuredness, or it can scream insecurity. Present yourself in a way that says you are ready to master or take command of any situation. If you look confident and act the part you aspire to reach, you’ll not only feel in control, people will have much more confidence in you as well. 2. Dress the part. When you look better, you feel better. If you choose clothing and accessories that fit you well, suit your industry and lifestyle, and make you feel good, this will automatically increase your self-esteem. Look like the part you want to play, or in other words, suit up for success. Don’t be afraid to let your personality shine in your accessories. Bold jewelry or a colorful tie can be a focal point and a good conversation starter. 3. Speak assertively. The next time you listen to your favorite speaker, be mindful of the way he or she delivers a speech. A great speaker speaks confidently, in a steady, rhythmic tone. Instead of the “ums” and “ahs” that interrupt the flow, they use pauses to emphasize ideas. Adopt an assertive, but not aggressive, way of speaking that indicates your self-confidence. You will feel your self-esteem begin to rise. To be taken seriously, avoid high-pitched, nervous chatter or twittering giggles in your speech. People will listen to you more attentively when they see the leader radiate from within you. 4. Think and act positively. Positive energy leads to positive outcomes, so set your mind to the can-do side of any situation, avoiding the negative self-talk that can make you feel less confident. Smile, laugh and surround yourself with happy, positive people. You’ll feel better and the people with whom you work will enjoy your company. Keep a gratitude journal to remind yourself of the high points of your day and your accomplishments. You will develop more peace and confidence when you are in a grateful state of mind. 5. Take action. There’s more to being confident than just how you look. You must act the part. Walk up to a stranger at a networking event, or accept a project you’d normally reject. Practice being self-confident and soon it will become second nature. Inaction breeds doubt and fear, while action breeds confidence and courage. As an exercise, jot down your strengths and weaknesses. Most people will tell you to work on your weaknesses, but use what you've got and capitalize on your strengths instead. 00:07
It was horrible. My legs are still numb. I heard Moment sobbing in my head. I wiped away my tears and breathed. The last time I had gotten whipped was when I pulled Ryan's swimming pants off when I was thirteen. FLASHBACK Ryan:talking to a girl Liam"pulls his swimming pants down Everybody laughs and points Ryan:pulls up his swimming pants and sits on a tanning chair and pulls Liam over his lap. He janks Liam's swimming shorts down so he is bare Liam:No man! I was joking! Sorry! places his hands on his bottom Ryan:smacks it away I don't care! Your in trouble. Lena hand me that swimming hair brush. Liam:No! He cries out Lena:hands him the swimming hair brush and he takes it Ryan:fixes himself so Liam is over his knees and his butts in the air Liam:Please! Don't in front of everybody! Ryan:You pulled MY swimming pants down IN FRONT of everybody! Now since your 13 I'm giving your 13 smacks. Liam:[low voice and sniffs] Please. Ryan:No. Sorry. SMACK SMACK SMACK SMACK Liam-screams- Ah! Stop! Everybody watches Ryan: SMACK SMACK SMACK SMACK SMACK SMACK SMACK SMACK SMACK Liam:-goes limp and is screaming and crying- Ryan:Shh I am finished. -puts the hairbrush on the ground and pulls Liam's swimming shorts up and rubs his back- Liam:-stops crying a bit sniffs- I-I-I'm so-sorry. Ryan:Its okay. Don't do it again. Liam:Yes-yes-yes sir. Ryan:Good boy. END OF FLASHBACK I shivered at the memory. I heard someone's feet coming down the stairs. "Thinking about the pool party when you where 13?" I heard Ryan ask. I burred my head in my arms and nodded. "I'm sorry man. I lost my cool." I mumbled. "Whatever." "I know your mad at me." "Huh you think?" "But watch the attitude," He sighed. "You didn't mean it." I peeked at him. "You where whipping Moment." "Because I saw her cutting and she slapped me." "Oh,," I whispered. "Then you pulled me outside of the bathroom and slapped me." "I'm I'm I'm sorry." I said still crying a little. "It's okay. But don't EVER slap me." "Okay." "Okay what?" I looked at him. "Dude. I'm nineteen." "I know. I though you learned your manners." I rolled my eyes. "Whatever." "I wore a belt for a reson." I jumped up. "I'm gonna check on Moment." I ran into the bedroom. Moment was limp on the bed and sobbing. "Moment?" "Go atay!" She screamed. I closed the door and climbed into bed. "Its me." "Wheres Wryan?" She asked sitting. "On the stairs." "I swared." "I know baby girl. You don't have to be." I showed her my red and troubing thighs and behind. She gasps. "Wats wappened?" "Ryan belted me." "Wran's mwean." "No baby girl. He did what was best for the BOTH of us.""Why dwid you get a spwanking?" "I slapped him. Kind of like how YOU slapped him. Let me see your arms." "No." "Moment Rose. Now." "Otay." She slowly gave me her arms. Her arms where covered with cuts. "Why did you do this?" "Bewus I'm swuped." "Hunny if you where stupid you wouldn't of known how to cut yourself or do self harm." "If I catch you cutting or doing ANY self harm I'm gonna spank you again." "Ohtay I wound't." I smiled. "Promise?" She giggled. "Pwomise." "Good. Now come on. I want you to say your sorry to Ryan." "No." I opened the door. "Moment Rose." "No." "Do I need to spank you again?" "No." She nodded and came to my side and held my hand. We went to the stairs where Ryan stood up. "Moment. I'm sorry." "No I'm sworry." "Good girl." I said. "Come here baby." Moment made her way to Ryan who wrapped his arms around her. "I did it becouse I love you." I butted in. "But you did it out of anger." "Excuse me?" Ryan let go of Moment. I got scared for a moment. "Well yeah. I mean I was bleeding. You did it out of anger." "Hunny why don't you go find a puzzle of watch Barney or something." Moment went to her bedroom and played. "Are you getting an attitude with me?" I got more scared. "No-no. II'm jjust telling yo-you." "Yeah but your telling me with an attitude." "No. I'm just saying" "Come here." He said harshly. "Wh why?" I said nervously. He came down a couple stairs. "I said Come Here." I looked around. "Well.." "Liam Micheal Dorm. Now." I went to him. "I have made a decision." "What's that?" "I am moving in with you." I step back. "What?!" "Let me finish." "Okay fine but your NOT moving in." "I told you I'm wearing a belt for a reason." "Wait what?" Ryan in five secs pulled his leather belt from the loops and swung me across his lap. "Your nineteen so nineteen smacks." "What the fuck man!" "Okay ten more for cursing." I kicked at him. My legs where already numb. CRACK CRACK CRACK CRACK CRACK. Tears filled my eyes. Frankly I didn't care if me, Liam was getting belted by his older brother, Ryan who's twenty three and crying. Tears streams down my face as five more come raining down my backside. "Ouch!" I scream. CRACK CRACK CRACK. My legs went stinking numb as three more come raining down. "Ow Ow!" I was bawling my eyes out when he finished. "Shh little bro. I'm done." He put his belt on a step below us.

Stephanie does a YouTube collaboration on the Mommy Scenario TAG! She talks about the different scenarios of having a child with Autism Spectrum Disorder (also known as PDD or PDD-NOS), ADHD, Bipolar Disorder, and Intellectual Disability (previously known as mental retardation). Parenting a special needs child (or any children) can be challenging. Watch to see what she does in each situation. SUBSCRIBE HERE ------- http://www.youtube.com/channel/UCQU1zvNELO2AatGXMRQ2bSw?sub_confirmation=1 Mommy Scenario TAG Questions: 1. Your kid is refusing to eat dinner, do you stand your ground and demand they eat what you made? Or make something else? 2. Your child has a meltdown at the store, nothing is working to calm them. Do you leave and come back another time, or grit your teeth and finish shopping? 3. Your children get too many toys for their birthday or Christmas, do you make some returns or save them for a rainy day? 4. Your kid is protesting sleep, do you give in at 3 am, get them up and turn on a movie? Or continue to rock them, nurse, etc to try to get them back to sleep? 5. You have an appointment and no babysitter, do you bring them with you or reschedule? 6. You have 20 minutes until unexpected company arrives. Do you rush to clean up your messy house, or just figure, "hey, it's okay. I've got kids!" 7. You're running late and only have time to do your hair or makeup, which do you choose? 8. You're at the park and another child pushes yours, do you intervene and correct them, or go find the child's parent? Hating Myself.

07:42
A not-so-quick chat on hating myself and how that's caused my lack of uploads in recent times. Sounds like a fun video, I know. #sarcasm I'd imagine a lot of people are going to be like "ooh what an attention seeking video," but like idec so shush. Kevin's channel: www.youtube.com/nubkeks Forgot to mention, I recorded this because I'd seen Jack Howard's video, "Confident and Insecure." This one. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KSEU2dNFojw --- If this is your first time on my channel, hiya! I'm Jessica. I like to make videos about mental health, dating, relationships, the YouTube community and Tinder (mostly). I have social anxiety and am currently taking medication for it (so you can trust that I'm legit when I say I've anxiety — a doctor is repeatedly confirming it for me by giving me drugs :P ). I like to talk about my experiences mostly just because I don't leave the house to see friends a lot, so I end up talking to myself. I might as well record what I'm saying and make some use out of my conversations! You can see why I'd like Tinder, right? I get to talk to cute guys while in my sweats, sitting all comfy on the couch. I've some issues when it comes to my self-worth and my weight and all of that stuff, so sometimes I put up videos about that when it becomes too stressful and I just need to tell someone (anyone) about it. My camera is easier to tell, even if it means I do eventually end up telling actually people through that process (the actual people being you — well done on making it this far by the way). Sometimes my videos will go more political, as I am very invested in the Repeal the 8th campaign, equality and the general political landscape (lol okay, I mean like, I follow Gerry Adams on Twitter). Sorry if that's not your thing, but they are rare. I'm hoping to do more videos on feminism soon too, and yes, I am a feminist. Slam poetry about all of the aforementioned topics* will be coming when I'm confident enough in my ability to write slam poems, and I don't feel like a fraudulent fool when I speak loudly and confidently in the way that slam poetry is generally presented. *I meant anxiety and mental health, feminism, relationships, Tinder and dating and probably other topics in case you weren't actually paying attention. Anyway, subscribe if I've piqued your interest. Don't if I haven't, but know that if you leave now, I'll never love you (which you may be grateful for - idk). F.A.Q. ------ Where are you from? North Dublin, Ireland, Europe. What do you shoot on? A Canon 600D, usually with an 18-55mm lens. I have a 50mm lens too, but that's only for my pretentious artsy videos. Do you use any lights? Yup! I use two 52k soft boxes. Do you REALLY have anxiety/self-worth issues? You seem very confident/outgoing/chatty/happy? *rolls eyes* Yes, I do. I swear on my rabbit Harvey-Brady's life. You can't see inside my head, so please trust me on it. I do have anxiety. My Depression & Anxiety Disorders

15:16
This is hard to talk about. I filmed this about a month ago but struggled to actually post it. I was worried it wasn’t “good enough” because I giggled, kept saying “um,” & rambled. Also, I filmed it vertically on accident. “Dangit Shannon! Get it together!!” I told myself. Then, I realized “hey, this is me, the day after an episode of multiple panic attacks.” My mind still wasn’t quite in my “normal” state after all those stress hormones coursing through my brain & body the previous day. So, here I am; raw & unedited. If you deal with a mental illness currently or have dealt with a mental illness in the past, I want to hear from you. Please share your own story online via YouTube, Twitter, Facebook live/Facebook post, blog posts, podcast, Instagram, Tumblr (is Tumblr still a thing?), MySpace, Xanga (Are those 2 still a thing)? Do I seem old for asking if those are still a thing? Use any form of social media you are comfortable with; just remember to tag your story with #StigmaSmasher so those looking for support &/or different perspectives can find you easily. I hope to complete a basic website with a support forum soon. When you share your story online, please contact me on one of my socials below. I will share it everywhere I can. If you watched all of that AND read all of this—dang you’re patient!!! Thank you so much for giving me your time.
