Diabetes is often called the silent killer because of its easy-to-miss symptoms. It initially presents with few symptoms, which can be easily overlooked. Research says that one out of three people who have it don’t even know about it. While others are unaware that they have diabetes in its early or even middle phases. If you've been feeling off, talk to your doctor about getting a simple blood test that can diagnose the disease. And pay attention to these subtle diabetes signs and symptoms. 1. Frequent urination (polyuria): The kidneys start working harder to get rid of the excess glucose from the blood. So if you notice that you have to urinate more often, this could be a warning sign. 2. Excessive thirst (polydipsia): This symptom links with the previous one. As you lose more fluids, the body will try to replenish them, hence the constant need to drink. 3. Increased hunger (polyphagia): Due to extreme highs and lows in blood sugar levels, the body develops a sudden urge to eat. The cells don’t get enough glucose, so you crave it. 4. Dry mouth: You experience a lack of moisture in the mouth, which can be both unpleasant and dangerous. Gum diseases are a known complication of diabetes. 5. Unexplained weight loss or weight gain: As insulin can’t get glucose into the cells, the body reacts as if it would be starving and starts using proteins from the muscles. On the other hand, increased consumption of sugary foods can lead to weight gain. 6. Fatigue: Excessive tiredness can develop when body constantly compensates for the lack of glucose in the cells. It is not uncommon to also feel irritable and in a bad mood. 7. Vision problems: High blood sugar also affects the eyes. It changes the shape of the lens and eyes. As a result, your vision becomes blurry. If sugar levels stay high for a long period of time, this can cause permanent damage and can even lead to eyesight loss. 8. Headaches – A headache can develop due to elevated blood sugar levels and is considered an early sign of hyperglycemia (high blood glucose). 9. Skin changes: Velvety dark skin, known as achantosis nigricans, can appear on the neck, groin and armpit. You can also observe other unusual skin changes and itchiness, especially around the vaginal or groin area. 10. Infections, cuts and bruises that do not heal:This classic sign of diabetes is a consequence of blood vessel damage. Excessive amounts of sugar harm the veins and arteries, so they become less able to transport blood to where it is needed to repair and heal the damage. 11. Yeast infections: Since bacteria and fungi thrive in a sugary environment, infections can become more common. 12. Numbness and tingling in hands and feet: This symptom is a result of nerve damage – neuropathy – that is connected with diabetes. Tingling and numbness can be accompanied by burning pain and swelling. 13. Sexual dysfunction: Diabetes also damages blood vessels and nerves in the sex organs, which can lead to different sexual problems. With the right diet, exercise regimen and, if necessary, medications, diabetes can be kept under control, and the person can continue to live a fulfilling life.

Insulin: • Insulin is produced by beta cells of the pancreas. • Insulin regulates the metabolism of carbohydrates, fats, and protein. • It promotes absorption of glucose from the blood into fat, liver and skeletal muscle cells which converted into glycogen. Type: 1) Type 1 diabetes : • In type 1 diabetes beta cells are destroyed by an autoimmune reaction. • It is characterized by abnormally high blood glucose concentration. 2) Type 2 diabetes : • Type 2 diabetes characterized by high rates of glucagon secretion into the blood which is unresponsive to the concentration of glucose into the blood glucose. • In this diabetes, insulin is secreted into the blood in response to blood glucose. 3) Gestational diabetes : • It means some mothers start developing high blood sugar level during pregnancy mainly in 24 and 28 weeks. Symptoms of diabetes: 1) Increased urination : • Increased urination is also called polyuria which is a major symptom of diabetes. • In diabetes, blood sugar level is high. So, kidneys work overtime to filter and absorb excess sugar. • Excess sugar is excreted through urine and this triggers to frequent urination. • Diabetic patient experience disturb sleep due to polyuria. 2) Excessive thrust : • It is also called polydipsia. • Excessive thrust accompanied by excessive dryness of mouth. • In diabetes, kidney loses the ability to pull out glucose from the water. Hence osmotic pressure creates which causes thrust. • It is a pressure that builds up between a liquid with a high concentration of solute and a liquid with low concentration. 3) Weight loss : • In diabetic patient insulin hormone is not getting glucose into cells which body cells used as energy. • Body starts burning of fat and muscle cell as a source of fuel which causes weight loss. 4) Hunger : • Increases appetite is called polyphagia. • When we eat food, the body converts it into a fuel source. • In a diabetic person, glucose from blood cannot enter into the body cells due to lack of insulin or insulin resistance. • Lack of energy body craves for food. 5) Fatigue : • High blood sugar level makes our blood sluggish and sticky which makes circulation slow. Hence, body cells cannot get oxygen and nutrient they need. • High blood glucose inflamed blood vessel which causes fatigue. • Insulin resistance keeps glucose out of body cells. 6) Vision : • High blood sugar causes swelling of the lens inside the eye. • Long-term uncontrolled diabetes causes damage to small blood vessels of the eye which leads to blurred vision. • In diabetes, fluid seeping into the lens of the eye and causes swelling of the lens. • This condition changes the shape of the lens and alters its ability to focus which causes blurred vision. 7) Skin problem : • People with diabetes have skin problems like itching, fungal infection and bacterial infection. • In diabetes, blood flow becomes poor. So skin becomes dry and starts itching. 8) Wound healing : • High blood sugar level stiffens arteries and causes narrowing of blood vessels. • Narrow blood vessels provide less blood flow and oxygen to wound. • In diabetes, there is nerve damage. Whether honey is a good alternative to diabetes patients, then it is also not that much better. According to medical experts, natural items such as fruits or honey and sugar-made items have similar sweets. If you want to enjoy honey in alternative for sugar, you can use it. But it is important to measure the daily amounts of carbohydrates you are consuming in a day. The amount should be very low, for example, you can add half tea teaspoon honey to your tea or make a part of a diet. Today I'm going to answer the question, is okra good for diabetes. Now I don’t know if you can tell from my voice or not, but I am from the south. So when this question popped up I felt pretty confident. Okra is a staple in much of the south. Some of you are wondering what an okra is, so I will try to explain it. The main reason okra is probably more popular in the south than in the north is that it grows easier in warmer climates. It is in the same plant family as cotton and hibiscus. When you hear someone talk about okra, they are normally talking about the edible seed pods of the okra plant. Much peapods or bean pods. In some countries they call okra “ladies fingers” and I can see why, they look somewhat like some ladies fingers who are green and wrinkly. It is also known as “gumbo” and “okro” but don’t ask me why. Okra can be prepared in many ways. My grandma used to boil it. This made for a very slick, slimy, soup like concoction. It was pretty tasty but if you ate too much of it you couldn’t keep your socks up. Not really. Okra can be fried, seasoned with a little salt or as I like it best, add a little Old Bay to it. It can be baked into breads or used in vegetable soup. A very popular way to eat okra is to grill it. OK, let’s talk about whether or not it’s good for diabetes. Okra is one of the most nutritious vegetables in the world. They are very low cal. Only 30 calories in a 100 grams Okra contains a very healthy amount of vitamins A,B complex and C. They are rich in anti-oxidants such as beta-carotene, xanthin and lutein. It is one of the vegetables with highest levels of these anti-oxidants. Okra is a great source of dietary fiber. And we all like that dietary fiber because it promotes better glycemic control and improves insulin sensitivity. Plus it makes us feel fuller, longer and keeps us regular. Okra is also an amazing source for important minerals such as iron, calcium, manganese and magnesium. In the south, people use okra for many medicinal purposes. They make okra water, use the peel and even grind up the seeds to make okra powder. Okra water is said to help with diabetes, blood disorders, headaches, all kinds of different ailments. Cut the pods in thin slices, put them in a glass of water overnight in the refrigerator and drink the water for breakfast. Okra peels and okra powder have actually been studied and shown to be a rather potent supplement for many of the nutrients found within the pod. So, YES, okra is good for diabetes. The last one is Vata, which is kind of air responsible for every movement in our body. Just to give you an example, prana is responsible for governing our breathing. When prana dies, our breathing stops. When vata is normal in our body, we are active, flexible and alert. Both decrease blood supply to your feet. • Don't soak your feet. • Don't use antiseptic solutions (such as iodine or salicylic acid) or over-the-counter treatments for corns or calluses. • Don't use any tape or sticky products, such as corn plasters, on your feet. They can rip your skin. • Trim your toenails straight across. Avoid cutting the corners. Use a nail file or emery board. I live in the UK and I have Morgellons. Morgellons, is neither a disease or a syndrome. I believe it’s man made germ warfare, Nanotechnology. I believe I contracted this Lymes based infection on a holiday to Mexico in October 2014. I got so many insect bites times due to it being the start of the rainy season and the day I was leaving Mexico I come down with a 24 hour fever. Not long after returning to the UK I started complaining about a parasite infection, I knew there was something wrong with my skin and that’s when my nightmare with this condition began. I didn’t think a parasite infection from a tropical country would be that far fetched, I had watched Monsters Inside Me on TV but unfortunately for me, all the doctors and consultants I’ve ever seen must have missed it. They just dismissed me as delusional and told my GP surgery to keep an eye on me as “people like me” could self harm. They suggested I attend a mental health assessment, which I attended and passed. I attended different hospitals, private and NHS and every single doctor and consultant I’ve ever seen has tried to say I’m mad. I believe this is part of the process that has been agreed by somebody to ensure Morgellons and Lymes is not diagnosed in the UK. In the end I had to give up with the UK health service diagnosing me. I posted a thread on a Patient forum, detailing my very crazy symptoms in their entirety, stating that I wasn’t mad and did anyone know what I may have caught. It didn’t take long for somebody to suggest Morgellons, in fact a lovely lady who is still a friend now, and has Morgellons herself told me in no uncertain terms I had Morgellons. She could see my symptoms were where her symptoms were many years before. I believe she’s had Morgellons for about 15 years or more now. I didn’t think I did, I had never heard of it and hadn’t seen Fibers. I then decided I had to rule it out and purchased my first USB microscope. Nothing has changed since October 2014, I still cant get treatment for Morgellons and nobody is monitoring my condition. The specialist Morgellons unit at The Royal London Hospital turned out to be another mental health assessment. Morgellons is being treated as Delusional Parasitosis. I refuse to take pills designed to control Schizophrenia for my skin infestation. There is no such thing as crawling sensations, the lymes aspect of this condition does have known pathogens so we do feel movement on the skin. I have photographed and filmed some pretty strange creatures, as well as fibers, structures, mold slime and an orb??! We are in a no win situation, if you have no photographs or videos its because you are delusional and if you do, you are neurotic and obsessive. I have looked into how these psychiatrists assess Morgellons to understand what I’m dealing with. The consensus is, Morgellons is a form of Delusional Parasitosis, most tested test positive to drugs, we fabricate evidence and that we are harder to treat than those with normal DP because we refuse to accept we are mad… no shit Sherlock. In short we are raving loonies, off our heads on drugs setting up photoshoots with noodles in our spare time lol. The only way I’m going to get diagnosed is if I get tests carried out abroad. I am very thankful for the people I’ve met through this condition, other Morgellons sufferers who have become friends and we do all look out for each other. I really don’t know how I would have got through it without their help and support. I probably would have cracked up. You do need help to try to put things into perspective. Everybody with this condition is suffering their own personal hell. I will continue to post the progression of my infection in the hope that one day I’ll find somebody who can help me cure it.

And the reason I’ve been so knowledgeable about it mainly through indirect reasons -- primarily because of my involvement with professional and Olympic athletes. Over the decades, I discovered that when people ate certain Lectin rich foods - they looked and felt worse. Slowly they lost muscle, gained fat, felt tired, had more aches and pains and even their brain and cognition suffered as well. Except, 25+ years ago, I and most experts, didn’t know the specific reason was due to Lectins back then. What Are Lectins A lectin is a type of protein (susceptible to various diseases, bacteria, and viruses) that forces carbs (sugars, starches, and fibers) to clump together and attach to certain cells in your body when you eat them. They’re found in lots of different foods, seeds, grains and the skin of certain vegetables and fruits. It’s actually a “defense” mechanism of the plant or vegetable. If you eat it, you’ll get sick and you won’t eat that food again. Also, not all lectins are toxic. And not all people are lectin “intolerant” as I stated already. Why Lectins Are Bad For You On the surface, lectins can cause pain and physical discomfort such as Gas Diarrhea Bloating Leaky gut Lectins are also called “sticky proteins” because they like to gab on to sialic acid - a type of sugar found in your brain, gut and nervous system. Lectins, which are also sometimes called “sticky proteins”, get in the way of communication between cells. When that happens, the body’s response is usually inflammation or some other type of reaction to toxicity, like nausea, diarrhea, or vomiting. (1) Additionally, lectins can cause you to gain weight. This is the frustrating part for most people because the foods we think are “healthy” for us, also happen to be high in lectins and if you are intolerant, then you’ll have all of the side-effects, INCLUDING WEIGHT GAIN! Foods High In Lectins So here are some of the typical foods that are high in lectins 3-5: Grains -- wheat, quinoa, wheat germ, rice, oats Nightshades -- tomatoes, eggplant, potatoes, goji berries, peppers (unless you peel the skins and deseed them) Soy Peanuts Beans -- lima, red kidney, split peas, lentils (unless you pressure cook them) Various Seeds Dairy Foods With No Lectins Of course, there are lots of foods you eat, such as ● Pasture-raised, grass fed meats and eggs ● Wild-caught, low mercury seafood (Salmon, anchovies, haddock, sardines and trout) ● Fermented veggies, like kimchi and sauerkraut ● Fruits (especially berries) ● Dark, leafy vegetables (celery, kale, spinach, romaine lettuce) ● Pressure-cooked legumes ● Good fats (olive oil, avocados, coconut, flaxseed, macadamia) You goal should be to try and avoid the Lectin foods and eat the non-lectin foods, “most” of the time. I’m not here to tell you to NEVER eat this or that you “always” have to eat that food. What’s REALLY Important To Understand Now, there’s one thing to all of this and that comes down to your genetics and hormones. Key Signs and Symptoms of Low Blood Pressure People frequently talk about high blood pressure, as it can lead to heart attacks, strokes and kidney failure. But low blood pressure, also known as hypotension, can also cause damage to your body. While a blood pressure reading of 140/90 mm Hg or above is considered high, a reading of less than 90/60 mm Hg is considered low. Everyone’s blood pressure drops at one time or another and doesn’t cause any noticeable symptoms. For instance, the transition from sitting or lying down to standing can cause a drop in blood pressure. Some people may experience low blood pressure right after eating or from prolonged standing. However, certain conditions can cause prolonged periods of hypotension that can be bad for your health. Such conditions include pregnancy, significant blood loss due to an injury, poor circulation caused by a heart condition, weakness that accompanies dehydration, dieting to lose weight, anaphylactic shock, infections of the bloodstream and endocrine disorders, such as diabetes, adrenal insufficiency and thyroid disease. Certain medications like beta-blockers, diuretics, tricyclic antidepressants and erectile dysfunction drugs can also cause hypotension. A deficiency of the essential vitamins B12 and folic acid can cause anemia, which in turn can lead to low blood pressure. Having persistent low blood pressure is not good. If the blood pressure gets severely low, your body will not receive enough oxygen to carry out its normal functions. A decreased oxygen level can lead to impaired functioning of the heart and brain as well as cause difficulty breathing. In certain cases, people with low blood pressure can lose consciousness or go into shock (when the organs shut down). This makes it more important to be aware of the signs and symptoms of low blood pressure, so that timely treatment can be provided. Here are the key signs and symptoms of low blood pressure. 1. Dizziness or Light-Headedness. One of the key symptoms of low blood pressure is dizziness and light-headedness. Low blood pressure causes poor blood flow to the brain. This reduces the oxygen supply to the brain and makes you feel dizzy and light-headed. This is often associated with a sudden position change, such as standing too quickly after waking up in the morning. If your blood pressure is severely low, dizziness can cause fainting, too. 2. Fatigue. Low blood pressure can affect your energy level and cause fatigue. The flow of blood plays a key role in the production of energy, as it provides the body with oxygen and necessary nutrients. The mitochondria within the cells need nutrients for energy production. When there is a disruption in the blood flow due to a drop in blood pressure, it disrupts the energy creation process, which in turn causes fatigue and tiredness. Even sleep disruptions caused by this change in blood volume can add to your fatigue. Having super low energy is never a good sign, so see your doctor. 3. Rapid Heart Rate. If you experience a rapid heart rate or palpitation, it may be due to a drop in your blood pressure level. Poor blood flow to the heart causes it to contract irregularly. If the heart is not getting filled with the right amount of blood, it compensates by beating faster. It can also cause your pulse and breathing to speed up. You may even notice frequent changes in body temperature. When it comes to your heart, any abnormal change should be checked by your doctor. 4. Cold, Clammy Skin. Having cold, clammy and pale skin (not due to strenuous physical activity) could be another sign of low blood pressure, especially when accompanied by rapid heartbeat and shallow breathing. This happens when there is not enough blood circulating in your body due to a drop in blood pressure. Frequent yellowish discharge, burning sensation and whitish discoloration of the skin or the prepuce indirectly indicates it is balanitis or preputial skin infection. Yellowish discharge means ther is infection inside the urethra leading to pus discharge which is yellowish in colour. Whenever there is a discharge, trauma to the mucosal layer, indirectly causing a wound and urine over the wound causes burning sensation. When you say there is a urethral discharge, pain in the tip of the penis that means the meatus has also got an ulcer or a wound and then the skin over it causes a balanitis. It is called as balanoposthitis when it is completely heals by contracture. That means when the wound that is there, it heals by contracture, leading to more of phymosis and whitish discharge which is causing damage to the skin. So these patients has to be treated for the infection first and if the skin is tight then circumcision has to be done and a lot of hygiene has to be maintained, this usually occurs in older age group of people. So control of infection, hygiene and plenty of fluids will avoid you from these circumstances and when, balanitis, is there, we have to think if the patient is diabetic. An immunocompromsed patient should also be thought about.

My answer is that it really depends on you. I will show you the pros and cons of rice and go over what I believe is the healthiest rice today. There is a debate today about if you should consume rice or not: ⁃ The paleo diet community says to stay grain-free and therefore that rice is not healthy ⁃ Chinese medicine followers and vegans think rice can be an incredible superfood I believe there is validity to both but it depends on the person and the preparation of the rice. Rice to stay away from: Refined White Rice (This is not jasmine or basmati rice but the sticky white rice from fast food or Chinese restaurants.) Rice Cons: • Fiber, minerals and vitamins have been removed. • Study shows that people are twice as likely to develop diabetes as opposed to those eating whole grain brown rice. • Contains phytic acid (enzyme inhibitor) which keeps you from absorbing and digesting vitamins and minerals. • Contains proteins that are difficult to digest Rice Pros: • Whole grain brown rice is high in B3 which is good for heart health. • Whole grain brown rice is high in selenium which supports the thyroid and kidneys. • Certain types of rice contain GABA, a neurotransmitter that can support the brain and help reduce anxiety as well as support metabolism. So ... is rice healthy? Is brown rice healthy? It depends on how it is prepared. I believe if rice is soaked and sprouted, it unlocks the vitamins and minerals versus most rices that aren’t sprouted. I personally consume an organic rice from the company, True Roots. It is a germinated brown rice (soaked and sprouted) which kills off phytic acid and is easier to digest. In Chinese medicine, look up “qi” or “chi.” They believe that short grain brown rice increase your body’s “qi” which is your body’s life source and energy. It is considered to be one of the #1 healing foods. I suggest my patients make a “congee” with chicken bone broth, brown rice and vegetables such as carrots and celery. Find Out What You're Eating That Is High In Sugar: http://www.adamlucero.com/sugar/ It’s becoming well-known that sugar is considered “bad” but what exactly does it do to us that makes it so bad? Well, the first downside that occurs is through your hormones. Sugar will jam your hormone receptors which makes us insensitive to the hormone insulin. Once you become insulin resistant, your blood sugar levels rise which might lead to diabetes, weight gain, and sexual dysfunction. Sugar also clogs nutrient channels which weakens our bones and muscle and negatively affects our neural communication which results in a more poor mood and impaired memory which can lead to dementia. Next, it stiffens your collagen causing arthritis and wrinkling. Then it will interfere with the creation of more collagen which is vital for having healthy skin. So how does sugar cause all this damage? Well, you know how sugar feels sticky? It’s because once it is dissolved in water, it reacts with proteins on the surface of your skin to form chemical bonds. The process in which sugar does all of this is called glycation. Glycation in the simplest form is pretty much just sugar sticking to things. Most of those bonds it forms are short-term and easily broken but with enough heat or time, those temporary bonds become permanent due to the oxidative reactions. The products of these oxidation reactions are called advanced glycation end products or AGEs for short. And these ages make you age extremely fast. You actually see this process when you toast bread. The oxidation reactions generate ages in the proteins and sugars in wheat which change the bread from soft and pale to hard and brown. This is because the proteins and sugars form cross-links that stiffen the bread. Well, that same process happens inside your body but your cells and tissues will be hardening instead. The thing is when you have normal blood sugar levels, white blood cells will clean up the mess so having occasional sugar won’t cause this much damage. Another thing that happens when your tissues harden is that your arteries will essentially turn into impervious walls which prevent nutrients from exiting the bloodstream. Eventually, the lipoproteins which carry these nutrients will clog up your arteries as they can’t get out of the bloodstream. But I think the worst thing sugar does is damage our brain cells. Each brain cell has thousands of dendrites which reach out to other dendrites on other brain cells to exchange chemicals which allow us to remember, think, and experience emotions. Obviously the more dendrites, the better off you are. Something that greatly effects how many den dendrites we have is our hormones. The brain always has a constant load of hormones but if you take away the hormones, the nerve cell branches die. However, glycation or ages reduce hormone sensitivity which will cause you to lose more dendrites and one of the early steps of Alzheimer's involves the loss of these branches.
