9 Signs You Have An Unhealthy Gut

04:37
If we are serious about maintaining a healthy body and mind, we would be wise to pay attention to the health of our gut. Our gastrointestinal tract is an architectural wonder. Good bacteria flourishes within the twists and turns of the colon, and is tasked with many functions. Some are responsible for giving a boost to our immune system, convert food into energy, eliminate waste and toxins. So our gut is under a lot of pressure to perform well. But when bad bacteria storms in, a gut imbalance will occur. Suddenly hormones are off balance, which can leave us vulnerable to a wide range of health issues. Most of us don’t know there’s a fight between good and evil bacteria until a state of war has been declared in our rumbling intestinal tract. In fact, a gut imbalance has been linked to hormonal imbalances, autoimmune diseases and more. In today’s video we’ll examine 9 warning signs that can alert us of a battle brewing. 1. Lack of Energy Sleepless nights are one sign. If digestion is having trouble, your metabolism will be slowed down. Therefore, the chemical breakdown of food for energy production isn’t going as planned. Bad gut bacteria can rob your body from the nutrients it needs. And some toxins that should be eliminated are scampering into other areas of your body and they are up to no good. 2. Digestive Issues Some signals are obvious: bloating, gas, diarrhea are a few warning signs. Your good gut bacteria are struggling mightily to break down food. Some gas is normal, but excessive gas that causes bloating and burping are signaling there’s trouble below. Acid reflux, IBS, and colitis are other problems that are a direct result of an invasion of bad bacteria. 3. Complexion Problems Once those bad bacteria are wreaking havoc, gut inflammations can trigger inflammations elsewhere – especially on the face. If you notice a flair up of acne, rosacea, eczema or psoriasis, it may be time to neutralize your gut. 4. Vitamin and Mineral Deficiencies To squeeze every precious nutrient and mineral from food, the gut needs to be functioning properly. Your cells depend upon them for growth, energy and repair. 5. Autoimmune Diseases A malfunctioning gut has been significantly linked to autoimmune diseases which include lupus, rheumatoid arthritis and Crohn’s disease. 6. Onset of Diabetes An unhealthy gut can also trigger the onset of Type 2 diabetes. Patients with this disease have high levels of bad bacteria in their gut. 7. Mood Issues Anytime bad bacteria are in control, you can be sure toxins will be produced. And they can disrupt the normal production of the happy hormone – serotonin – and other neurotransmitters that can elevate your mood. Instead, you are bombarded with mood swings, stress, anxiety and depression. 8. Difficulty Sleeping Deep within your gut are warehouses that stash and regulate serotonin. Without this hormone to induce and regulate sleep, you will experience a restless night of tossing and turning. 9. Stubborn Weight Those who are obese or carrying around too much weight have a different ratio of intestinal bacteria from those who maintain a healthy weight. A body that’s not properly digesting and absorbing fat will find some place to store it. Tips to build and maintain a healthy gut: Eat less sugar, which contributes to the growth of bad gut bacteria; Chew food slowly, thoroughly; Stay hydrated; Undergo a gentle detoxification monthly to eliminate toxins; Consume more probiotic foods (or supplements) to restore the balance of gut bacteria; Disclaimer: The materials and the information contained on Natural Cures channel are provided for general and educational purposes only and do not constitute any legal, medical or other professional advice on any subject matter. 11 Signs Your Body Needs More Magnesium

03:49
Magnesium is a mineral found in many types of foods, it plays an essential role in human DNA production, repair and in maintaining healthy bones, nerves and muscles. Though it is readily available, most Americans do not meet their need for magnesium through their diet. you should consider getting your magnesium level checked if you suffer the following 11 symptoms. 1. Low energy. Magnesium is involved in at least 300 different chemical reactions in our body, and a lot have to do with energy production. A sign of low magnesium can be low energy. 2.Insomnia. If you're having a hard time falling or staying asleep, it may be due to low levels of magnesium, particularly if you are experiencing a lot of stress. Stress hormones increase blood pressure and heart rate, this is partly accomplished by depleting the body of its magnesium If there isn't enough magnesium available for the body to replenish itself, sleeping becomes a problem. 3.Constipation. Bowel movements often slow down without enough magnesium in the body. note that magnesium is the main ingredient in many over-the-counter laxatives. 4.Frequent headaches. Magnesium deficiency lowers serotonin levels, causes blood vessels to constrict and affects neurotransmitter function, all related to headaches -- especially migraines. 50% of migraine sufferers have a magnesium deficiency. 5.Twitching or cramping. Because magnesium plays an important role in muscle relaxation, insufficient intake can result in unintended muscle movement. Without magnesium, our muscles would be in a constant state of contraction 6.Low bone density. Magnesium plays a major role in bone formation, and the majority of the body's magnesium is stored in the bones. People with higher intakes of magnesium have a higher bone mineral density. 7.High blood pressure. Magnesium is very important in maintaining a healthy blood pressure, a deficiency can definitely cause pressure to be too high. Eating foods high in magnesium and other minerals can help prevent high blood pressure in people with prehypertension. 8.Type 2 diabetes. Breaking down blood sugars is another of magnesium's jobs in the human body. People with higher amounts of magnesium in their diets tend to have a lower risk of developing diabetes. Research is ongoing to determine whether magnesium therapy can be used in diabetes treatment. 9.Irregular heartbeat. With low magnesium levels, the heart can have trouble staying in its regular rhythm. doctors will often prescribe magnesium supplements for patients who complain of an irregular heartbeat. 10.Increased sensitivity to noise. Not having enough magnesium curtails its role in stabilizing the nervous system, This often results in hyperflexia, an enhanced startle reflex. And 11. Depression and anxiety. Low levels of magnesium in the brain can affect neurological functions that result in all sorts of problems. Studies have shown that some phobias -- such as agoraphobia -- have developed as a result of low magnesium levels.  Please Subscribe! ▶ https://goo.gl/ksfh7M NOTE: The materials and the information contained on Natural ways channel are provided for general and educational purposes only and do not constitute any legal, medical or other professional advice on any subject matter. 8 Health Benefits of Okra Water for Diabetes, Weight Loss, Skin & Hair

05:53
Health benefits of Okra Water Okra is a flowering plant also known as ladies fingers and is highly prized because of its seed pods. Okra is also a favorite to add in a vegetable dish, and many people around the world include okra in their dishes. Because of it’s unique taste and texture is tends not to be popular with children Okra has a wide range of health benefits, but most of the health benefits are due to the minerals, vitamins, and organic compounds found in this vegetables. Okra has high nutritional value because it is rich in vitamin A, B, C, E, and K, as well as calcium, magnesium, potassium, iron, and zinc. Furthermore, okra contains a high level of fiber. One of the best ways to consume all the nutrients of okra is to soak it with clean water overnight and in the morning eat the okra and drink the water at the same time, with this simple remedy you will naturally boost your overall health and you will earn these amazing health benefits Diabetes many people with diabetes have reported decreasing blood sugar levels after soaking cut-up okra pieces in water overnight and then drinking the juice in the morning, while in Turkey roasted okra seeds have been used as a traditional diabetes medicine for generations. What's behind this effect? The superior insoluble fibre contained in okra is believed to help stabilise blood glucose by slowing the rate at which sugar is absorbed from the intestinal tract. Weight loss okra is packed with dietary fibre, which keeps you satiated and makes you feel full for longer time. okra also falls in the category of low – calorie veggies and contains no saturated fats. This makes bhindi a perfect addition to the diet of a weight watcher. Include okra in your diet and add flavours to your meal while maintaining a low-calorie count, which helps manage weight. Digestive Health Perhaps the best part of adding okra to your diet is the significant increase it can have on your total fiber intake. Mucilaginous fiber like you find in okra can help move food through your digestive tract by adding bulk. This means that bowel movements are more regular and there is a reduction in gastrointestinal issues such as bloating, cramping, constipation, and excess gas. Oddly, it also helps prevent diarrhea, because it adds bulk to watery stools. Finally, fiber can help to clear out excess cholesterol in the body. Kidney stone and function If you eat okra There might be a slightly increased risk of kidney stones if your body makes stones of the calcium oxalate type. ... Like many vegetables, though, okra is high in oxalates. On the other hand, a Chinese study showed that eating okra improved kidney function in people (not rats this time) with diabetes. So the jury is still out on this… Immune System The various antioxidant components of okra make it very beneficial to fight off free radicals, but the high vitamin C content also means that the general immune system is boosted. Vitamin C can stimulate the immune system to create more white blood cells, which can combat the other foreign pathogens and materials in the body that can compromise the immune system. Hair Okra is rich in all sorts of healthy things that can make your hair happy. Rich in vitamins A, C, and K, as well as minerals like magnesium and folate. According to goodhairdiaries.com, “The protein and oil contained in the seeds of okra serves as the source of first-rate vegetable protein. It is enriched with amino acids on the likes of tryptophan, cystine and other sulfur amino acids.” All of these nutrients work together to create a hair cure-all that covers a range of concerns. It is usually used as a hair gel since it offers great definition to curls and can offer lasting hold without crunchiness. Blood Pressure and Heart Health Okra is a good source of both vitamins and minerals, including potassium, which is an essential aspect of human health. Potassium is necessary to maintain proper fluid balance in the body because it balances sodium. Furthermore, potassium helps to relax the blood vessels and arteries, which therefore reduces blood pressure and lessens the strain on the cardiovascular system. This means that clotting and atherosclerosis will be greatly reduced. Eye Booster Okra contains a very high content of vitamin A, as well as antioxidant components like beta carotenes, xanthein, and lutein. Antioxidants are powerful compounds that destroy or neutralize free radicals, which are the dangerous byproducts of cellular metabolism. Free radicals are responsible for the degradation of the cells in the body, including those responsible for vision. With high levels of okra in your diet, you will have more protection for your sight, including macular degeneration and cataracts Skin Health Vitamin A antioxidants are also able to protect skin health, by promoting quicker healing, reducing the appearance of scars and acne, and eliminating wrinkles. This is because the antioxidants are able to neutral

9 Home Remedies for Natural Colon Cleansing

05:16
The colon is a very important organ in the digestive system. Its job is to take the water, salt, vitamins, and nutrients out of food that cannot be digested, break down food that was not digested in the small intestine, and remove solid waste from the body. Before starting any colon cleansing treatment, ask your doctor for instructions, especially if you are taking any medications or suffering from any health condition. 1. Water The best thing you can do for colon cleansing is drink a lot of water. It is important to drink at least 10 to 12 glasses of water a day. This will help your body flush out the harmful toxins and waste in a natural way. Drinking a lot of water will also help the natural peristaltic action, helping the food move through the digestive system. Also, water is important to keep your body well hydrated. Together with water you can drink fresh fruit and vegetable juices. 2. Apple Juice Another great thing for colon cleansing is fresh apple juice. If you drink apple juice all the time, it can help bowel movements, break down toxins, and boost the health of the liver and the digestive system. 3. Lemon Juice Lemons are good for the digestive system because they have antioxidant properties and are full of vitamin C. For this reason, lemon juice is great for colon cleansing. Mix the juice of one lemon, a pinch of sea salt, and a little honey in a glass of lukewarm water. Drink this mixture in the morning on an empty stomach. This will give you more energy, better bowel movement, and better skin condition. 4. Raw Vegetable Juice For colon cleansing, it is important to keep away from processed and cooked foods for one or two days. Instead of eating solid foods, drink fresh vegetable juice a few times a day. Green vegetables are good because they have chlorophyll, which helps force toxins out of the body. They also have vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and enzymes which will keep your body healthy, and give you energy. You can also drink herbal teas. 5. Fiber-rich Foods Eating foods that are full of fiber will also help cleanse the colon of bad toxins. Fiber will keep the stool soft and help bowel movement, which helps the body force out waste products. Foods that are full of fiber will also get rid of any kind of intestinal problem. You can add a lot of fiber to your diet by eating fresh fruits like raspberries, pears, and apples, and fresh vegetables like artichokes, peas, and broccoli. There is also a lot of fiber in cereals, whole grains, nuts, beans and seeds. 6. Yogurt Eating fresh yogurt all the time is a good way to keep the colon healthy. Because yogurt is a probiotic food, it can bring good bacteria into the gut and help digestion. It can also fight inflammatory bowel disease. This is especially true of yogurts that have live and active cultures. 7. Flaxseed Because flaxseed is full of omega- 3 fatty acids, antioxidants, and natural fibers, adding it to your diet is a great way to cleanse your colon. Flaxseed will take in the water and then swell in the colon, and help force out toxins and mucus as the waste passes through. It can also block cancer, heart disease, and diabetes. 8. Aloe Vera Aloe vera is known for killing toxins and acts as a laxative. This makes it a great colon cleanser. Aloe vera gel can also treat other health problems, like headaches, skin infection, diarrhea, gastric pain, and constipation. Add the juice of one lemon to fresh aloe vera gel and put the mixture in the blender to make a few ounces of smooth juice. Drink it a few times a day for a few days. 9. Ginger Ginger is a common ingredient that can lessen bloating, help the colon work properly, and keep it free from waste and bad toxins. It helps digestion by making the digestive juices flow. You can use ginger in any form, such as grated, as a juice, or as cut up pieces for colon cleansing. But is all fiber created equal? There is soluble fiber, like oatmeal, and insoluble fiber, like the cellulose in veggies. In classic western form, we are told that if you want to lose weight, lower cholesterol, or reduce the risk of diabetes, eat more soluble fiber, such as "heart-healthy" Cheerios. On the other hand, if you are constipated, feeling toxic, overeating, or at risk of colon cancer, we are told to eat more insoluble fiber in the form of vegetable roughage to boost intestinal bulk. While everyone agrees that both are necessary, and that each plays a unique role in maintaining optimal health, we are being told to emphasize one fiber over another based on symptoms, rather than the indisputable logic of nature. Join me as I help you simplify and clarify your fiber needs, and set a nutritional course based on nature's intelligence. ________________________________________________________________________ Let's Review There are two types of fiber: soluble and insoluble. Neither of them is digestible by humans and, thus, they offer no real nutritional value. However, both kinds of fiber perform certain functions in the intestinal tract that makes them absolutely necessary for optimal health. Soluble Fiber Soluble fiber is soluble in water. It becomes slimy and lubricating in the gut when it mixes with water in the digestive system. Think of psyllium or Metamucil. Food Sources Soluble fiber is found in oat bran, barley, nuts, seeds, beans, lentils, peas and some fruits and veggies. Function • Binds with fatty acids and bile in the gut, which are generally attached to bad cholesterol and toxins earmarked for the toilet. • Becomes gel-like in the gut and slows the absorptions of fats and sugars into the blood stream. Benefits • Lowers total cholesterol and LDL or bad cholesterol, thereby reducing the risk of heart disease. • Regulates or slows the blood sugar release from the gut for people with diabetes. Risks • Too much soluble fiber can dehydrate the gut. Have you ever added water to psyllium in a glass? Being a soluble fiber, it will attract water and expand quickly in the glass. If too much soluble fiber is taken, it may pull water away from the gut wall, drying it out. • The expansive effect of soluble fiber can also overly distend the gut. This could cause chronic constipation, a distended bowel, and sluggish absorption of certain nutrients such as sugars and fats into the blood stream. Insoluble Fiber Insoluble fiber does not mix with water and generally moves through the gut intact, acting as bulk and scrubbing the intestinal wall. Think of vegetable roughage. Food Sources Insoluble fiber is found in wheat bran, fruits, veggies, and whole grains. Function • Insoluble fiber tends to speed up the passage of food through the stomach and intestines, adding needed bulk to the stool. • It is also in charge of maintaining the proper pH of the gut, which regulates the balance of good bacteria in the gut. Benefits • Promotes regular bowel movement and prevents constipation • Removes toxic waste through the colon in less time. • Scrubs the villi of the intestines. • Helps prevent colon cancer by keeping an optimal pH in the intestines to prevent microbes from producing cancerous and toxic substances. Risks • Too much insoluble fiber can irritate the gut as excess roughage can inflame a sensitive digestive system. A Symbiotic Relationship While most nutritionists give soluble fibers most of the credit for cardiovascular support, blood sugar regulation and lowering cholesterol, much of these benefits would not exist without the aid of insoluble fibers. Insoluble fibers in the form of cellulose escort the toxins into the toilet. If only soluble fibers existed, toxins might be bound to soluble fibers in the gut with no way out, lingering in the gut and eventually being re-absorbed back into the bloodstream and liver. Experts at the National Academy of Sciences are recommending that these two terms, "soluble" and "insoluble," be phased out with regard to fiber, as their benefits are so intertwined that their exact roles in the gut are still unclear. Natural Herbs For Diabetes - Top 5 Natural Herbs For Diabetes

04:19
These top 5 natural herbs for diabetes have shown some promise in lowering blood sugar, boosting insulin sensitivity, reducing high blood pressure and cholesterol, and more. 1. Gymnema Sylvestre This plant’s Hindi name translates as “sugar destroyer,” and the plant is said to reduce the ability to detect sweetness. It’s regarded as one of the most powerful herbs for blood-sugar control. It may work by boosting the activity of enzymes that help cells use glucose or by stimulating the production of insulin. Though it hasn’t been studied extensively, it’s not known to cause serious side effects. 2. Bitter Melon The aptly named bitter melon is thought to help cells use glucose more effectively and block sugar absorption in the intestine. When Philippine researchers had men and women take bitter melon in capsule form for three months, they had slight, but consistently, lower blood sugar than those taking a placebo. Gastrointestinal problems are possible side effects. 3. Prickly Pear Cactus The ripe fruit of this cactus has been shown in some small studies to lower blood sugarlevels. You may be able to find the fruit in your grocery store, but if not, look for it as a juice or powder at health food stores. Researchers speculate that the fruit may possibly lower blood sugar because it contains components that work similarly to insulin. The fruit is also high in fiber. 4. Bilberry This relative of the blueberry contains powerful antioxidants in its fruit and leaves. These antioxidants, called anthocyanidins, seem to help prevent damage to tiny blood vessels that can result in nerve pain and retinopathy (damage to the eye’s retina). Animal studies have also suggested that bilberry may lower blood sugar. 5. Ginseng Known for its immune-boosting and disease-fighting benefits, this Chinese herb has several positive diabetes studies behind it. Researchers have found that ginseng slows carbohydrate absorption; increases cells’ ability to use glucose; and increases insulin secretion from the pancreas. A team from the University of Toronto has repeatedly demonstrated that ginseng capsules lower blood glucose 15 to 20 percent compared to placebo pills.

How To Control Blood Sugar Levels With a Boiled Egg

02:22
The blood sugar levels in your body rise after every time you eat something, especially if you are a Type 2 diabetic or insulin resistant. It is not easy to learn how to get your blood sugar levels under control. It can take a newly diagnosed patient several months to figure out what they can and cannot eat. While figuring this out, a patient with Type 2 diabetes will likely have some spikes in their sugar levels. Having high blood sugar is important to take seriously, as it can cause some serious health issues. If you have high blood sugar for too long, it can cause you to be more at risk for heart disease, stroke, kidney disease, vision issues and nervous system problems. Luckily, there are many foods that you can consume which will help you to control your blood sugar levels naturally, without medication. One such remedy only contains three ingredients to keep your blood sugar stabilized. You will need: - Apple Cider Vinegar. - Water. - Hard-boiled egg. Hard-boiled eggs are a great snack if you have diabetes because it is so high in protein. The protein in the egg helps you to feel full without causing your blood sugar to rise quickly. Protein slows down your digestive system and your body s absorption of glucose. This is extremely beneficial to people with diabetes. Apple cider vinegar makes your body more sensitive to insulin and helps your body from raising your blood sugar quickly. This is especially true after eating food that is high in starch. There was one study done in particular that showed positive results with Type 2 diabetics when they took apple cider vinegar before eating a meal high in glucose. How to do it: - Boil an egg in the afternoon, and peel it. - Pierce the egg a 2-3 times using a toothpick. - Put the egg in a mason jar and pour just enough vinegar over it so that it is completely covered. - Close the jar and let it soak overnight in your refrigerator. - The next morning, drink a glass of warm water and eat your egg. - Repeat this every day. Soon, you will notice that your blood sugar levels have improved and are more stabilized. If you like the video, give it a thumbs up and share it with your friends! The American Diabetic Association estimates that 80% of the 15 million individuals who suffer from Type 2 diabetes are significantly overweight and that the obesity contributes greatly to the development of the disease. It is no secret that a slow, intentional weight loss will decrease the risk of health problems and diabetes is included in that list. This weight loss will also reduce the need for insulin, improve cardiovascular health and improve lipid profiles. By achieving these goals you also reduce your risk factors for developing stroke, heart attack, retinal damage and kidney failure. (1) However, losing weight and keeping it off is as much of a challenge for those who have diabetes as it is for those who don't. If it were not a challenge then the thousands of weight loss programs that are currently making billions of dollars every year would be out of business. The weight loss industry has become a multibillion dollar industry due to the difficulty that people find in removing excess baggage. As a diabetic it is important that you engage the help of other professionals to help you lose weight that you require in order to decrease your need for external insulin and medication. Losing weight as a diabetic is accomplished the same way that weight loss is achieved under any other circumstance. Weight gain or weight loss is simply a mathematical equation of how many calories are eaten versus how many are spent. In other words, if an individual burns off 1500 calories per day but eats 2000 calories per day they will gain weight. If the reverse is true they will lose weight. Each pound of body weight is equal to 3500 calories. If there is a negative caloric intake of 500 calories per day and individual should be able to lose 1 pound of body weight each week. While weight loss of 1 pound a week is a realistic goal, too many times we want our results to happen today. When an individual decides to lose weight they often want to lose 10 pounds this week. If you really lost 10 pounds in one week you would have to have a negative calorie intake of 35,000 calories! This is not possible. To achieve this it would require that metabolism was increased through some external chemical response, such as chemotherapy or cancer, and you had stopped eating altogether. The goal of any weight loss program is to achieve a gradual loss that can be maintained. This results in a healthy body and mind and can also result in the elimination of medication required to control Type 2 diabetes. (2) On the quest to lose weight individuals who suffer from diabetes will find that exercise is their friend. The American diabetes Association recommends that individuals engaged in exercise for two reasons. In the first place, exercise reduces the body's need for insulin while still controlling blood glucose levels. In the second place, it increases metabolism and enables an individual to lose weight with greater ease. (3) Another product that diabetics have at their disposal for weight loss is the drug, Byetta. This medication and was originally designed to assist in the control type 2 diabetes but was found to have a side effect of weight loss. It was approved by the FDA for treatment as an injectable medication. It is not insulin but improves the control of blood glucose by mimicking the action of another hormone and helps the body to use insulin most effectively. (4) Studies have also found that individuals who use Byetta have experienced weight loss. The theory is that the drugs slows the movement of food from the stomach through the intestines which helps individuals to feel full or longer and results in an individual who eats less. At this point the drug is approved only for those who have diabetes and not as a weight-loss drug. While individuals who have diabetes may find it useful to use Byetta it should not be the only factor used to achieve weight loss. Weight control is incredibly important in the long term management of diabetes and in the prevention of long-term health complications... Don't Ignore These Early Symptoms of Diabetes. Diabetes mellitus, commonly known as diabetes, is a metabolic disease characterized by high levels of sugar (glucose) in the blood. As of 2014, about 387 million people worldwide suffered from diabetes and they must get type 2 diabetes treatment. Diabetes occurs when the pancreas is either not producing enough insulin or the cells are not able to respond properly to the insulin produced. Diabetes is often called a silent killer because of its easy-to-miss symptoms. Most often, people do not even know that they have diabetes as early symptoms sometimes seem harmless after all they get diabetes mellitus type 2. Here are the top 6 early warning signs of diabetes you should not ignore and you shoul know early about managing type 2 diabetes. review : 01:02 Frequent and/or Excessive Urination. 02:05 Feeling More Thirsty. 03:08 Hunger Pangs. 04:06 Slow Wound Healing. 05:11 Recurring Infections. 06:05 Unexplained Weight Loss. Dr. Berg's Probiotic: https://shop.drberg.com/supplements/friendly-bacteria-probiotic Take Dr. Berg's Advanced Evaluation Quiz: http://bit.ly/EvalQuiz Your report will then be sent via email analyzing 104 potential symptoms, giving you a much deeper insight into the cause-effect relationship of your body issues. It's free and very enlightening. Dr. Berg talks about the digestive system. The stomach should be extremely acid (ph between 1-3), which should release pepsin a powerful protein enzyme, absorb minerals and kills microbes. If the stomach is not acid enough, you can have acid reflux and indigestion. STOMACH support: Add acidifiers like apple cider vinegar and betaine hydrochloride. Then you have the gallbladder, which releases bile. Bile helps break down fat and fat soluble vitamins (vitamin A, D, E and K). GALLBLADDER: add purified bile salts to prevent bloating. Then you have the pancreas, which makes enzymes. PANCREAS: Take enzymes. Then you have the small intestines. This is where 90 percent of digestion takes place. I recommend taking effective microbes. SMALL INTESTINES: https://www.amazon.com/EM-1-Daily-Pro... Then comes the large bowel, which is where most of your microbes live to re-absorb water and minerals. The enteric nervous system is a part of the digestive system. This controls the pumping motion. There are more nerves in your gut than your spinal cord. There is feedback back to the brain and can effect your mood. These microbes make B-vitamins and live off fiber and then make butyrate, which feeds the colon cells. I recommend getting this from vegetables. 85% of your lymphatic system is located in the small intestines and act to create immunity. To support leaky gut, I recommend: Colostrum: https://www.amazon.com/Colostrum-LD-P... Effective Microbes: https://www.amazon.com/EM-1-Daily-Pro... Stephen Cunnane - Can Ketones Slow Down Alzheimer’s?

56:45
This lecture is part of the IHMC Evening Lecture series. https://www.ihmc.us/life/evening_lectures/ A diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease (AD) strikes fear into everyone. But can AD be slowed down; can we do something to delay when it starts and how hard it strikes? There is growing evidence that a conscientious prevention approach can help one resist AD. The prevention approach to AD is the same as for what are called the ‘chronic Western diseases’ – hypertension, type 2 diabetes and obesity. The hormone insulin appears to play a key role in AD. Insulin tends to be less effective at controlling blood sugar (glucose) in older people, especially if they are sedentary. This in turn decreases the amount of fuel getting to the brain making it harder for brain cells to talk to each other so memories gradually slip away. Our research shows that it is difficult to increase glucose supply to the brain once it has declined in older people, even with exercise. Ketones are the brain’s back-up fuel and the brain of someone with AD can use ketones as well as the brain of a young adult. Moderate exercise helps get more ketones into the brain. Some older people may not be able to exercise but one can make a ketone drink made from medium chain triglyceride (MCT) in one’s kitchen. We are in the middle of a trial with an MCT drink in people at high risk of AD. The early results show a significant benefit for memory. There will be no miracle cures for AD but a prevention approach may delay and/or slow it down. A major focus of Dr. Cunnane’s research over the past 30 years has been to develop a better understanding of the role of omega-3 fatty acids and ketones in human brain development and function. His team uses PET and MR imaging to study the impact of aging on brain structure and fuel metabolism. This information is applied to the development of keto-neurotherapeutic strategies for reducing the risk and progression of aging-associated cognitive decline and Alzheimer’s disease. He has published over 300 peer-reviewed research papers and five books. Two of his books highlight the concept that the key role of ketones for normal human brain development was of importance to overcoming the nutritional, metabolic and structural constraints on human brain evolution: Survival of the Fattest: The Key to Human Brain Evolution (World Scientific 2005), and Human Brain Evolution: Influence of Fresh and Coastal Food Resources (Wiley, 2010). Dr. Cunnane was elected to the French National Academy of Medicine in 2009. In Oct 2017, he received the Chevreul Medal from the French Society for the Study of Lipids for outstanding contributions in the area of omega-3 fatty acid metabolism and the role of ketones in optimal brain function during aging.

Diabetes and Okra - a case study by Jogindra Kohli 8 14 2015

05:20
I was discouraged by everyone including my wife who is a physician regarding this recipe. The reason was the argument that it is so simple then why it is not used by anyone and how come the Diabetes drug industry is flourishing world wide. Even on internet at one place it showed it is not proven as there is no control study. I think we have become so used to the system that we are afraid to try even simple things unless someone advises us and charges us a lot of money for the advice. So I decided to take matter in my own hand and started to try it. It worked so well for me that I feel others should try it and spread the word so it can help everyone. I have been using it for two weeks and are already seeing the effect as I measure my blood sugar many times a day. I stopped my insulin but I am taking other medicines prescribed by the doctor but will gradually wean them out or reduce them as it is warranted. I did find a writeup supporting Okra with details, but it is so easy to try with no side effect that one should try oneself. here is the write up I found that goes in details of how it works. Okra is fast gaining a reputation as a so-called 'superfood' for people with or at risk of diabetes or cancer. Commonly referred to as ladyfingers, or by its biological names Abelmoschus esculentus and Hibiscus esculentus, okra is known to have a positive effect on blood sugar control, among many other health benefits. What is okra? Okra is a tall-growing vegetable that traces its origin from ancient Ethiopia (Abyssinia) through to Eastern Mediterranean, India, the Americas and the Caribbean. Parts of the plant (immature okra pods) are widely used vegetables in tropical countries and are typically used for making soups, stews or as a fried/boiled vegetable. These tender pods are very low in calories, providing just 30 calories per 100 g, and contain no saturated fats or cholesterol. They are also rich in nutrients, completely non-toxic, and have no adverse side effects. How can it help treat diabetes? Evidence of okra having anti-diabetic properties has increased in recent years, with multiple Vitro (laboratory) and Vivo (animal) studies confirming okra as a potent blood glucose-lowering (or anti-diabetic) food. In one study, published 2011 in the Journal of Pharmacy & BioAllied Sciences, researchers in India found that diabetic mice fed dried and ground okra peels and seeds experienced a reduction in their blood glucose levels, while others showed a gradual decrease in blood glucose following regular feeding of okra extract for about ten days. Outside of scientific research, many people with diabetes have reported decreasing blood sugar levels after soaking cut-up okra pieces in water overnight and then drinking the juice in the morning, while in Turkey roasted okra seeds have been used as a traditional diabetes medicine for generations. What's behind this effect? The superior insoluble fibre contained in okra is believed to help stabilise blood glucose by slowing the rate at which sugar is absorbed from the intestinal tract. Other health benefits Because okra is a rich source of dietary fibre, important vitamins and minerals, and powerful antioxidants, the vegetable is known to be beneficial for health in a number of ways. These include: • Preventing and improving constipation • Lowering cholesterol • Reducing the risk of some forms of cancer, especially colorectal cancer • Improving energy levels and improving symptoms of depression • Helping to treat sore throat, irritable bowel, ulcers and lung inflammation

Signs And Symptoms of Colon Cancer You Should Not Ignore

10:11
Descriptions of Warning Signs of Colon Cancer You Shouldn’t Ignore: According to the American Cancer Society, 1 in 20 people are at a risk of developing colorectal cancer during their lifetime must get colon cancer clinical trials.. The exact cause of colorectal or bowel cancer is not known. However, it is believed to develop when healthy cells become abnormal and start growing in number and accumulate in the lining of the colon, forming polyps. Left untreated, polyps may become cancerous. As it can be difficult to treat colon cancer after it spreads to nearby areas, it is important to know what the early symptoms are. This can help you seek early treatment and give you a better chance in recovery at all you must do colon cancer treatment options and know early about what is treatment for colon cancer. Here are the top 5 sign and symptoms of colorectal cancer. 1. Constipation 01:02 Constipation is an important sign of cancer in the colon. A 2011 study published in the Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention highlights the link between constipation and colorectal cancer risk. An earlier 2004 study published in the European Journal of Cancer supported the hypothesis that constipation or laxative use increases the risk of colon cancer. A tumor present at the far end of the colon can make it very difficult to eliminate waste products, thereby causing constipation. If you persistently have fewer bowel movements per week, without any prior problem of constipation, consult your doctor to find out the exact cause. 2. Diarrhea 01:59 If you suffer from diarrhea for more than a couple of weeks, it may be an early symptom of colon cancer. When a tumor partially obstructs the bowel, it can cause alternating constipation and diarrhea due to leakage of liquid stool. You may also experience frequent gas, abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting. Plus, a tumor may irritate or narrow the lining of the intestine. It is important to consult your doctor when you have diarrhea that lasts more than a few days, as it can lead to dehydration, drain your body of nutrients and signal other serious problems, such as cancer. 3. Blood in Stools 02:35 Most often, blood in the stool is due to piles (hemorrhoids), where the veins in the back passage become fragile and cause a little bleeding during a bowel movement. This type of bleeding is generally red. However, if you notice dark red or black blood in your stool, it can be a sign of cancer, such as bowel, rectal or colon cancer. It can also be due to a stomach ulcer. Whether bleeding is due to piles, a stomach ulcer or cancer, it’s important to get it checked by a doctor. Proper diagnosis is essential for appropriate treatment. 4. Constant Feeling of a Bowel Movement 03:25 If you have a constant feeling of urgently needing to have a bowel movement or to strain but no stool is passed, it is not a good sign. This feeling can occur even after having a bowel movement. Changes in your pattern of bowel movements can be a sign of colon cancer. It can occur when a tumor blocks the bowel and prevents you from completely emptying your bowels. If you persistently have the sensation of incomplete evacuation after a bowel movement, discuss the problem with your doctor. 5. Narrow Stools 04:16 Thin, narrow stools are also a warning of possible colon cancer. A tumor present in the left side of the colon obstructs the passageway and often leads to narrow stools. Do not delay discussing any change in your stools with your doctor. Diverticulitis and anal cancer can also cause narrowing of the stools. Music: Royalty Free Music from Bensound

Is Ketosis Safe? Ketoacidosis vs Ketosis: Low Carb Science: Thomas DeLauer

06:49
Subscribe for 3x Videos Per Week! http://www.ThomasDeLauer.com Is Ketosis Safe? Ketoacidosis vs Ketosis: Low Carb Science: Thomas DeLauer Ketosis is a state in which the body starts burning fat for energy due to lack of new glucose in the diet. Carbohydrates provide the body with glucose. The pancreas secretes a hormone called insulin that works with the glucose in the bloodstream to provide energy to the body's organs and cells. When the glucose supply is exhausted, it begins to break down stored fat to meet its energy needs for normal functioning. The accumulation of ketone molecules in the blood makes it extremely acidic. This irritates the kidneys, which flush out ketones through urine. Ketosis gets its name from the ketones that are produced in the process of breaking down the fat. In a healthy person, the amount of fat that is burned and ketones that are produced is tightly controlled, causing no harmful side effects. Ketosis, or nutritional/dietary ketosis, is commonly seen in those participating in low-carb diets (as well as prolonged periods of fasting or starvation) and can be quite helpful in losing weight, as fat is burned in the entire process to gain energy As ketosis is usually a diet-induced process, it isn’t harmful However, ketoacidosis, which is seen in people suffering from a lack of insulin, is a life-threatening condition. (1) Ketoacidosis Ketoacidosis, also known as diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA), is a life-threatening condition in which your body doesn’t make enough insulin. This can cause you to have dangerously high levels of ketones and blood sugar. Think of DKA as a dangerous state of ketosis It is a condition afflicting mainly type 1 diabetes patients who suffer from hyperglycemia as a result of lack of insulin. Inadequate insulin levels result in the failure of the body to utilize blood glucose as a fuel source; rather, to compensate the decreased energy levels, the body starts breaking down fat, resulting in ketones. Without insulin to control the amount of ketones produced during this process, an excessive amount is produced When excessive amount ketones build up in the blood, it seriously alters the normal chemistry of the blood and interferes with the functions of multiple organs. They make the blood acidic, which causes vomiting and abdominal pain. If the acid level of the blood becomes extreme, ketoacidosis can cause falling blood pressure, coma and death. Ketoacidosis is always accompanied by dehydration, which is caused by high levels of glucose in the blood. Glucose builds up in the blood if there is not enough insulin to move glucose into your cells (1,2) The Difference Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA) is a very dangerous state where an individual with uncontrolled diabetes is effectively starving due to lack of insulin. Insulin brings glucose into our cells and without it the body switches to ketones. Our brain can function off either glucose or fat and ketones. Ketones are a breakdown of fat and amino acids that can travel through the blood to various tissues to be utilized for fuel. You see, in normal individuals, or those with well-controlled diabetes, insulin acts to cancel the feedback loop and slow and stop the overproduction of ketones. Without this feedback loop, dangerous levels of ketones build up, acidifying the body. This would register on a Ketone Meter at levels of 20 mmol/l. The levels can build up to a state that is highly toxic. If someone is in this state, they are usually accompanied with excessive thirst and urination, hyperglycemia, pain, nausea, and deep, labored, gasping breathing. These individuals need to seek medical treatment (2) Who is at risk? DKA can occur very quickly and symptoms of DKA can develop over a period of a few hours, and treatment results in rapid recovery People with type 1 diabetes are at risk of diabetic ketoacidosis. If you have type 1 diabetes, ketoacidosis can occur because you have stopped taking your insulin injections or because your insulin dose is too low. It can be triggered by an infection or severe physical stress, such as an injury or surgery, because your body can need more insulin than usual during these stresses. Ketoacidosis rarely occurs in people with type 2 diabetes. In most people who have type 2 diabetes, blood insulin levels usually do not get low enough to signal the liver to make ketones. I’m noticing that I stay between 8-9 (kinda hard to tell which one precisely). I’m thinking 9 is too high but I know you say we have to keep it high to fight off diseases and such but I want to know how to gauge it a little more closely. 37:18 – G - I began my detox journey 3 years ago I removed all processed foods, meat, diary and began eating lots of fruit, green juices and vegan food. I made great progress although no my wife and I were trying for a baby and I have been told I have low sperm due to varicocele and that we will never get pregnant naturally. we have both started fruit on detox and 14 week protocol - is there anything else I can do? 44:23 – Paul - I have a question about eye health - Can you improve eye sight? I can see great close up (short sited) but when driving I prefer to wear glasses as I can read road sign directions a lot sooner and looking at things from a distance is just not clear at all, I'd love to correct this and not wear glasses. 51:43 – My eyes indicate that I’m highly toxic. How does this affect my vibration? Does ascension require clean eyes? Also, are you planning to ascend during this life cycle? 55:03 – Bryan – I found a hardened lymph on the back of my head, right side. Dry scaly flakes on my head since I can remember (always dealt with it), always have had sinus issues. Been on a raw diet mostly fruit for about 2 months now and am on your Heal All Tea. Any other recommendations? 59:19 – Kevin – I would like to know if you have testimony about hair regrowth of young male baldness pattern. 1:02:38 Gina - My body is in a such big imbalance and needs specific herbs protocol and diet in order to rejuvenate. Long story short. I was taking some antibiotics last year and in december I've took the strongest one, Clindamycin that ruined my gut flora and poisoned me with sulfur, although I had orange near the pupil before that, I developed candida overgrowth and bacteria imbalances. I can feel in my tummy that everything is messed up and I really need a detox. What I've done? I've switched from a plant based diet with starches, cooked foods and lost of porridge, fruits and veggies to a paleo diet in order to heal my intestines and stop the overgrowth of candida. 1:31:40 – Carlos - I suffer from ADD, depression, sudden drops in blood sugar when hungry, degeneration of the upper and middle spine, swelling of feet when I eat, baldness, grey hair, and vision problems. I feel I must deal with these issues now as I'm almost 33 yrs old, specially the ADD which has caused many interpersonal issues and extreme loneliness. My job, lifeguard in Disney World, requires me to be extremely focused at all times, how can I detox without being in lala land while working? 1:41:58 – Chris – I have had diabetes for 18 years. Oral medication kept my blood sugars under control for the first three years or so. The last 15 years I have been taking insulin. The last test I had to measure how much insulin my body was making showed that it was making a trivial amount (my doctor’s words, I never did get a more concrete answer), but that was several years ago.

Pycnogenol® for Diabetes

06:28

Learn about how it works! http://www.thomasdelauer.com How does whey protein affect insulin and fat loss? Isn't whey a protein, not a carb?? Effect of Whey Protein on Insulin Whey is one of the two main proteins in milk - the other is casein. Whey, like all proteins, is made up of amino acids, the building blocks of protein. When we consume protein, we then break down these amino acids and use them for muscle growth and tissue repair. Whey contains all three BCAAs along with all of the essential amino acids. Whey is highly insulinogenic - consuming whey leads to a sharp increase in insulin levels. This response does not have to do with blood sugar levels - when a food has a high glycemic index, consuming it will cause a large increase in blood sugar levels. In response to this, the body produces insulin to combat the high blood sugar and allow glucose to enter our cells for energy. This is not what is happening when we consume whey - insulin release is responding to amino acids, not glucose levels. Insulin binds to cells to allow them to take up energy, which can be glucose or amino acids from proteins. The amino acids in whey cause an insulin release. Whey also leads to the release of GIP and GLP-1, two gastrointestinal hormones that also raise insulin levels. This increase in insulin is actually a good thing! Whey is a fast acting protein, and the spike in insulin allows amino acids into the muscle cells to encourage repair, helping us to gain muscle and heal quickly. Consuming whey protein has actually been shown to lower blood glucose levels when consumed during or directly before a meal. A 2005 study in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition found that when whey was combined in a high-sugar meal, individuals with type-2 diabetes had a lower blood glucose level following the meal than if no whey was consumed. This is thought to be because the increased insulin aided the body in glucose digestion. Generally, the better the whey, the higher the insulin spike and thus the more effective at delivering building blocks into the cells for the purpose or repair and growth. Best to consume whey directly following exercise. It is quickly broken down and made available to muscle cells for repair post workout. Whey protein isolate contains 90% protein and thus has less lactose, fat and cholesterol than whey protein concentrate. To get the most out of your protein, go for the whey protein isolate. You will experience less bloating and get more of the benefits - lean, ripped muscles. Too much protein is dangerous, so be sure not to consume excess protein. Excess protein can lead to increased fat storage and calcium loss, which can lead to osteoporosis. References: 1. How To Lower Blood Sugar Immediately

05:00
You can find Sensolin here: https://www.truthnutra.com/sensolin-yt In the next 60 seconds I'm going to show how to lower blood sugar immediately and naturally increase insulin sensitivity. So first off, let's take a look at… What is insulin? Insulin is a hormone that's produced by the pancreas, that helps turn sugars from carbohydrates to energy. It also allows the body to store glucose for future use. The muscles and liver store the sugars as glycogen, which causes muscle cells to expand. Likewise, fat cells store the sugar as triglycerides and may expand as well. Now, what is insulin sensitivity, and insulin resistance. Insulin sensitivity is how receptive the body is to the insulin it produces. When the body is properly sensitive to insulin, it uses that insulin produced and effectively removes it from the bloodstream, making energy and storing glucose for later. A healthy body is sensitive to insulin, which means it needs to make less insulin to stay healthy. Better yet, being more insulin sensitive allows the body to utilize carbohydrates properly for more energy, building muscle, and will also help the body store less fat. What's even better, is that greater insulin sensitivity is going to lead to higher T levels in men. Now what are some signs that a person might have poor insulin sensitivity? Or have developed insulin resistance? Higher insulin levels can cause weight gain, higher insulin levels can cause aging, higher insulin levels can cause reduced T, higher insulin levels increases cravings for junk foods, and also leads to blood pressure issues. With all of this in mind, for anyone who feels as though they're one of those people who is constantly riding the blood sugar roller coaster, with blood sugar all over the place, depending on what you eat, when you eat, and you get hangry and get crazy when they don't have food, For everyone who needs help with blood sugar control and needs to increase their insulin sensitivity naturally, and for the good people out there who don't want to go take drugs to achieve this, I've got 3 natural compounds to use today to simply, and quickly increase insulin sensitivity naturally and get control over those cravings once again. Now the first thing is what's known as berberine. Now berberine is an alkaloid extract taken from various plants and it's been used in traditional chinese medicine for centuries. Some of the benefits of berberine include, anti-inflammatory and antidiabetic effects, improved intestinal health, improved cholesterol numbers, increased exercise performance, and decreased blood pressure. Now the recommended dosage for berberine is between 500-1500mg/day. It's also recommended to take this dosage split between 2-3 times throughout the day. Now next up, we have cinnamon ceylon oil. Cinnamon is commonly used as a spice but it's also known for its numerous biological effects on the body. The best type of cinnamon is ceylon because it has lower coumarin content. Cinnamon has a ton of benefits, including reducing the rate at which glucose enters the body, improved glucose usage in cells, lower fasting blood sugar, and improved cholesterol levels. Now the recommended dosage for daily cinnamon intake is between 1-6g per day. And the third compound, the third natural ingredient that you can consume on a daily basis is actually what's known as chromium. Chromium is an essential mineral that's consumed through your diet. It's found in plant products and grains. The benefits of chromium include, a regulation of glucose metabolism, improved insulin sensitivity, it is used to treat glucose intolerance in type 2 diabetes, leads to a great reduction in appetite, improved symptoms of depression, and a noticeable increase in libido with the right amount of chromium. Now the daily recommended dosage of chromium is between 800-1000 mcg. At this point, some of y'all are probably wondering: where do we get all these things? One option is to search around on Amazon and try to find them, but we did at Truth Nutra is that we put together a supplement known as Sensolin (hold up sensolin bottle). Sensolin is specifically designed with these three ingredients at the exact clinical dosages shown in human studies to actually work, to actually help regulate blood glucose and to help with insulin sensitivity. Now we put them all in here, it's a very simple supplement. And it actually works. Cannabis & Gut Health: Medical Marijuana Science

59:08
Laura Lagano, MS, RDN, CDN is an Integrative Clinical Nutritionist based in New Jersey. She has advanced training in functional medicine, which has her positioned her to become one of the first certified RDNs with the Institute of Functional Medicine. Boasting years of experience in food, nutrition + wellness communications, as well as in health curricula and continuing medical education development, Laura possesses a unique combination of science and communications savvy. Laura is co-founder of the http://holisticcannabisnetwork.com Holistic Cannabis Summit: http://holisticcannabissummit.com Key Takeaways: 07:06 Cannabis Stigma: The cannabis plant has been bred by farmers to be high in THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), the psychoactive component. The plant originally has a much lower THC content. It is a complex plant with many compounds and many cannabinoids that produce different effects. CBD (cannabidiol) modulates the THC effect. Consuming the plant with all of its compounds is beneficial. It does not need to be smoked. It can be as a tincture, as an oil, an alcohol base, in an edible, as a patch, or as a topical. 09:42 The Endocannabinoid System: This is a system of receptors throughout our bodies, called CB1 and CB2 receptors and others. They sit on the cells in our body within various systems. These receptors are in our brain, our gut, our immune system and other places. There are zero deaths from cannabis overdose because we do not have these receptors in our brainstem. You may react to an overdose in some other way, depending upon your genetics. 13:16 Cannabis Seizure Treatments: Cannabis has application for seizure disorders. The ratio of CBD to THC for people with seizures depends upon the person. It gives the patient the ability to titrate. Most of the time for the effects of cannabis, less is more. 17:36 Health Benefits of Daily Cannabis Consumption: The endocannabinoid system exists in all humans and animals all the way down to sea squirts. This can be upregulated by cannabinoids and other lifestyle behaviors like exercise, sex or for babies, breastfeeding. Cannabinoids are adaptogenic. 23:12 The Benefits of THC: There are different levels of THC from hemp to cannabis, from strain to strain and plant to plant. THC can modulate many effects in the body, including immune function. The THC component is important for treating seizures. 27:12 Influences upon Our Body’s Endocannabinoid System: Besides exercise, sex, and meditation, there may be other ways to influence it as well. However, we are unable to measure the endocannabinoid system. There is much research to be done. Most of the research has been done outside the US, particularly in Israel, where it is not federally illegal. 29:23 The Anti-Inflammatory and Immune Modulatory Effects: The federal government deems cannabis as a schedule one drug, meaning that it has not benefit. The federal government has a patent on cannabis as an antioxidant. Cannabis is an incredible anti-inflammatory and antioxidant. Cannabis helps to tighten the junctures in leaky gut and calms the digestive system. Cannabis is being used as an exit drug from addiction to alcohol, cocaine, opiates and amphetamines. 32:50 Cannabis and Mitochondria: There is research upon the use of cannabis and mitochondrial disorders. It is already being seen as effective with those of us with MS and ALS, mitochondrial disorders. 34:49 Contaminants: By consuming the cannabis plant, you receive the benefits of the entourage compounds. However, some states require that the plant not be smoked. Extractions could involve butane or CO2 and other things could be added. During one water extraction, researchers found high levels of alcohol and butane. This turned out to be residue from equipment cleaning. In addition, there are no guidelines for organic cannabis. 37:11 The Best Delivery Method: Laura thinks that all formats can be valuable. Most practitioners would recommend vaporizing, rather than smoking. Within 3 seconds to a minute after smoked cannabis hits your lungs, your blood levels will be in full cannabinoid effect. Most edibles, cannabis infused food, are sugar laden junk food. It will take from 45 minutes to 2 hours to reach effect. For edibles, go low and start slow. Oils work well for children with seizures. You need to make sure it is quality oil. 42:58 Better Strains: Sativa is the more calming strain and Inica is the more uplifting strain. The strain for seizure disorder would have a higher level of CBD and lower THC. The strain for ADHD might have a CBD derived from cannabis and very little THC. Durban Poison strain is popular for ADD. It has a higher THC content, so the dosage is very low.

5 Amazing Foods You Can Eat When You Have Gastroparesis

03:01
Gastroparesis, commonly known as delayed emptying of the stomach, usually affects people who have diabetes. Damage to the vagus nerve that regulates the movement of the stomach muscles is responsible for this condition. Poor stomach motility slows down emptying of the stomach and affects digestion. Feeling full after eating small amount of food, abdominal pain and bloating, loss of appetite, nausea and vomiting are common symptoms of gastroparesis. Dietary changes help in minimizing the symptoms of gastroparesis. High fiber diet, though considered essential for diabetics without gastroparesis for blood sugar management, is not recommended for gastroparesis patients. Instead they should eat foods that are easily digestible and can move through the stomach with ease. 1. Juice Juice is well tolerated by people with gastroparesis. Drink vegetable juice and juices of fruits such as apple, pineapple, prune, cranberry and grape. However, citrus juices should be avoided. Juices can easily pass through the stomach and help in meeting the body’s demand for vitamins and minerals. 2. Soup If you are suffering from severe nausea and vomiting, sip small amounts of bouillon-like soup broth throughout the day. Take about two ounces of the soup every 30 to 60 minutes. The soup helps in restoring the hydration and electrolyte balance of the body. 3. Milk And Dairy Low fat milk and dairy are usually well-tolerated by people with gastroparesis. Fat-free or low fat milk, cheese, yogurt, cottage cheese and buttermilk are good sources of protein. However, whole fat milk, cream, cream cheese and yogurt with fruits and nuts should be avoided. 4. Animal Protein People with gastroparesis can take ground meat, fish and eggs. Avoid the fatty portions of the meat. However, animal protein is more suitable for breakfast and lunch. Do not take more than two ounces of animal protein for dinner. This helps in improving the fasting blood sugar level in diabetics with gastroparesis. 5. Vegetables In case of mild gastroparesis, low-fiber vegetables can be added to the diet. Finely shredded raw carrot, peeled and deseeded cucumber, and well-cooked, soft and pureed carrots, cauliflower, beets, squash, sweet potato and peas can be eaten when the symptoms of gastroparesis are mild. Intermittent Fasting: Can It Slow Aging? Thomas DeLauer

Click Here to Subscribe: http://Bit.ly/ThomasVid Website: http://ThomasDeLauer.com Intermittent Fasting: Can It Slow Aging? Thomas DeLauer… Fasting & Mitochondria (Longevity & Lifespan) Research from Harvard Chan School of Public Health, published in the journal Cell Metabolism, found why fasting can lead to a longer, healthier life (4) Manipulating mitochondrial networks inside cells — either by dietary restriction or by genetic manipulation that mimics it - may increase lifespan and promote a healthy life. Mitochondria: These organelles are constantly changing in size and number by the processes of fission (breaking apart) or fusion (putting together)… Both processes are necessary for mitochondria to stay healthy. Too much fission and there is fragmentation; too much fusion is called mitochondrial hypertabulation. Fission & Fusion: Inside cells mitochondrial networks generally alternate between two states: fused and fragmented. The study found that restricted diets promote homeostasis in mitochondrial networks allowing for a healthy plasticity between these fused and fragmented states. Fission and fusion imbalances of mitochondria result in reduced function - defective mitochondrial dynamics have been implicated in cancer, cardiovascular disease, neurodegenerative diseases, diabetes and chronic kidney disease. Mitochondria, other than just being the powerhouse of the cell, also play an integral role in programmed cell death or apoptosis. When the body decides that a cell is no longer necessary, the cell does not simply die. When the cell is damaged or no longer necessary, it undergoes an orderly disposal of its cellular contents, which are reabsorbed and its components may be reused for other purposes. This process is called apoptosis and is a major mechanism for the precise regulation of cell numbers. It is also a major defense strategy for the removal of unwanted or potentially dangerous cells (cancer) So, if the process of apoptosis is impaired, then the result is too much growth. Study: The researchers in the study used nematode worms, which live just two weeks and thus enable the study of aging in real time in the lab. As mentioned, mitochondrial networks inside cells typically toggle between fused and fragmented states. The researchers found that restricting the worms’ diet, or mimicking dietary restriction (fasting) through genetic manipulation of an energy-sensing protein called AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK), maintained the mitochondrial networks in a fused or “youthful” state. In addition, they found that these youthful networks increased lifespan by communicating with organelles called peroxisomes to modulate fat metabolism. AMPK: The key to keeping mitochondria healthy is AMPK, a sort of reverse fuel gauge of the cell. When energy stores are low, AMPK goes up - AMPK is a phylogenetically ancient sensor triggered by high cellular energy demands. If energy demand is high and energy stores are low, then AMPK goes up and stimulates new mitochondrial growth. AMPK goes up with decreased nutrient sensing, which is tightly correlated to longevity. Simply put, increased AMPK (low cellular energy status) also acts through several intermediaries to increase mitochondria. Additional: Fasting also stimulates autophagy and mitophagy, the process of culling the old, dysfunctional mitochondria - fasting essentially gets rid of the old mitochondria and at the same time stimulates new growth. Researchers Concluded on the Study: Our work shows how crucial the plasticity of mitochondria networks is for the benefits of fasting - if we lock mitochondria in one state, we completely block the effects of fasting or dietary restriction on longevity. The study also found that fasting enhances mitochondrial coordination with peroxisomes, a type of organelle that can increase fatty acid oxidation, a fundamental fat metabolism process. In the study's experiments, the lifespan of the worm was increased by simply preserving mitochondrial network homeostasis through dietary intervention. These results help shed light on how fasting can increase longevity and promote healthy aging. References: 1) Harvard study uncovers why fasting can lead to a longer and healthier life. What Are Slow Calories? | The New Discovery!? for Weight Loss from Japan

02:33
What Are Slow Calories? | The New Discovery for Weight Loss from Japan As you may know, Japan has the lowest obesity rate among developed countries. How do we consistently rank so well while the rest of the developed world struggles with obesity? Well, part of the reason why we have a low obesity rate is because we eat foods with slow calories. So, what are slow calories? Recently, the newly established Association of Slow Calorie Research for Health has promoted the importance of “slow calories.” Slow calories refer to food that slows the digestion and absorption of carbohydrates in your intestines. In fact, quick digestion of food increases your risk for diabetes and weight gain. In the past, people believed that the faster you digested your food, the better. Yet, recent studies show that quick digestion and absorption of carbohydrates causes your insulin to spike, which can lead to weight gain. So, what foods have slow calories and what are some other tricks that we make foods slow calories? 1. Foods with Slow Calories Colored carbs, such as brown rice or brown bread, contain fiber which slows down digestion. When you have a choice, always opt for colored carbs. 2. 1) Vegetables 2) Protein 3) Carbs Eating order matters. When you eat carbs at the beginning of a meal, you cause your insulin to spike. Always eat your vegetables first, protein second, and carbs last. By doing so, your carbs are covered by vegetable fibers. Since they are coated in vegetable fibers, your body digests and absorbs your carbs slower. Now, I’m not saying you should finish all your vegetables before moving onto protein and carbs. You can just repeat this cycle as you eat. The most important thing is to eat some vegetables before eating other food. If there is soup, you should enjoy it a little bit before you eat your vegetables. 3. Chew More When you eat too fast, you tend to eat more because it takes time for your brain to recognize that you’re full. By chewing more, you can prevent overeating. In Japan, we are taught to chew 30 times per bite at school. It’s very hard to chew that many times (and I’ve never been able to do so), but at least try to chew more.

Is Chronic Stress Slowing Ketosis?

03:06
ADD YOUR SUCCESS STORY: https://www.drberg.com/add-client-success-story Take Dr. Berg's Free Keto Mini-Course: http://pxlme.me/-i717vtY or go here: https://www.drberg.com/how-to-do-ketosis Download Keto Essentials https://m.me/drericberg?ref=w2128577 In this video, I talked about another barrier that prevents people to get into ketosis called chronic stress. High levels of stress increase the hormone called cortisol and it is a type of hormone that makes the liver increase sugars even without consuming sugar. The high levels of sugar then leads to high levels of insulin and with high insulin you cannot get into ketosis and can make you gain more weight. He also talks about the different causes of stress. Cause of Stress: • Problem • Relationships • Sick Parent • Losses • Chronic Pain • Constant Worry Remedies: • Take vitamin B1- Nutritional yeast is a good source. • Long walks • More Sleep Hey guys, I wanted to talk about another barrier that prevents people from getting into ketosis and that topic is stress, mental stress. It could be physical stress too but with mental stress, you have the stress that you are not adding and exertion, exercise or movement to burn of that excess sugar because high levels of stress increase the hormone called cortisol. And cortisol is a type of hormone that has a lot to do with sugars. Even the name of it is called gluco, glucocorticoides. So cortisol increases sugar and it actually causes the liver to make sugar even when you are not consuming any sugar. And with the high levels of sugar, you have a high levels of insulin. So when the insulin is too high, you are not gonna get into ketosis and you are gonna actually gain weight. Even the condition right here in Frank Netter's book Encyclopedia of Endocrinology. High Levels of cortisol will cause you to get belly fat, it can even cause diabetes. Stress is the thing that activates that. let's say you have this chronic ongoing problem with something lets say you have a teenager that is in trouble with something, drugs or whatever it is and you are constantly worrying about it. You're in a bad relationship with, can't communicate. Boom! Increase stress. You have a sick parents you have to take care of, constantly you are stress about that. You have a loss that you are stock in, or you are in this situation where you have chronic pain that just won't heal from an accident or something. You have this condition of pain, constant stress, constant worry, even the constant pain where you have a lot of medications you can't seem to get off with. The problem is when you are in this stress mode, sometimes you get stuck with it and you can't get out. You are gonna have to figure out how are you going to get out of this stressful situation to actually reduce the cortisol because that's actually the thing that is going to solve everything. But in the meantime you are gonna take vitamin B1, nutritional yeast is a good source for that. This will greatly reduce stress and stress depletes you B1 so putting it back in there will give you a lot of relief. Walking is vital, I am talking about, not like 5 minutes, I am talking about an hour or two a day, very therapeutic. Not with the headphones on, just you walking with nature very therapeutic. More sleep, take naps. These will help. Dr. Eric Berg DC Bio: Dr. Berg, 52 years of age is a chiropractor who specializes in Healthy Ketosis & Intermittent Fasting. Dominic D'Agostino, Ph.D. on Modified Atkins Diet, Keto-Adaptation, Ketosis & More

01:49:53
This video features a conversation with Dr. Dom D'Agostino, an associate professor at the University of South Florida in Tampa and all around expert on ketosis. In this conversation, we discuss SO MUCH, including... • Dom's efforts at teasing out the differences between induced nutritional ketosis (through a low carbohydrate, high fat diet) and ketosis from the dietary introduction of exogenous ketones, like beta-hydroxybutyrate, especially in the context of therapeutic and performance enhancing effects. • His work on formulating ketone esters. • The differences in tolerability between MCT (medium chain triglycerides) powders versus liquids, as well as the amount of supplemental MCT a person would need to consume in order to achieve mild ketosis without carbohydrate restriction. • The differences between different types of ketogenic diets. • The modified atkins diet which has been demonstrated to have similar efficacy to the classical ketogenic diet in the treatment of drug-resistant epilepsy and how it may be a slightly more practical option for achieving therapeutic nutritional ketosis. • The importance of making the correct carbohydrate choices, even and maybe especially in the context of a ketogenic diet, with a diverse variety of raw vegetables being the most favorable. • What keto adaptation is and what it means, at a physiological level, to be keto adapted and how this is distinguished from short periods of ketosis we experience in our day-to-day lives. • Some of Dom's ideas around cycling various dietary strategies as a way of promoting metabolic flexibility. • How ketones, when used as a source of energy, may result in a net reduction in the number of damaging reactive byproducts known as reactive oxygen species than what may be produced by other forms of energy metabolism while also producing more ATP from, proportionately, the same amount of oxygen. ... If you would like more information, please, educate yourself on the effects of herbs and how they may interact with your medicine. Fenugreek is an herb I didnt mention(which is odd because I have it on hand...It an herb that is used to help control migraines and headaches.. However, the seeds have been shown to help diabetics, too. Some modern research has shown that not only will it lower your blood glucose, but also reduce insulin levels, total cholesterol, and triglycerides while helping the HDL. Medications That Treat Diabetes

01:50
http://vitality.all4utoday.info Medications That Treat Diabetes Currently, there are many different medications that treat diabetes. Most people who are diagnosed with Type II diabetes are given medication instead of insulin. In most cases, a combination of drugs are used. These drugs work with the body to increase insulin production and make it easier for the body to eliminate glucose. Sulfonylureas are one of the most popular drugs used to treat diabetes. There are several different types of this drug on the market, the most popular being Glucotrol. These drugs work by increasing the amount of insulin released from the pancreas. These drugs work well in lowering blood glucose levels but also run a risk of a person developing hypoglycemia. Hypoglycemia is when the blood sugar level is too low. Because of this potentially dangerous side effect, sulfonylureas are often given with other drugs, most notably Glucophage, or more commonly known as Metformin. This drug works well with Glucotrol as it reduces the amount of glucose in the liver while the Glucotrol increases the amount of insulin in the pancreas. Both medications must be taken prior to meals. Most people who are first diagnosed with Type II diabetes are given this combination of drugs which, when taken as directed, are effective at maintaining a healthy blood glucose level. Another drug that is showing promise in working well with Metformin is Prandin. Prandin also lowers blood glucose levels but at a slower rate than Metformin and has shown good results in studies. Like Glucotrol, Prandin increases the amount of insulin in the body and can also cause hypoglycemia. It is very important for a patient with diabetes to work with their physician to get the right dosage of each medication and never double a dosage or cut one in half. Prandin cannot be used in women who are pregnant or nursing children. Starlix is another drug that works similar to Prandin but does not require adjustments. The dosage remains constant and is also safe to use on those with kidney problems. Starlix is yet another promising drug being used to treat people with Type II Diabetes. While most medications that treat diabetes increase insulin developed in the pancreas and decrease the glucose in the liver, newer medications are being marketed that decrease the absorption of carbohydrates in the intestines. Precose did remarkably well in trial studies in breaking down the carbohydrates in the system, making it easier to eliminate. However, this medication has not done as well as the sulfonlureas, which are considered the best possible medications that treat diabetes at this time. However, for those who are allergic to sulfur, Precose is a good alternate. Other new medications that are concentrating on controlling the glycemic control in the system include Symlin and Byetta. While these drugs have proven to be show promise, more testing is needed before they can replace traditional therapies. A diagnosis of Type II diabetes may be frightening for an individual, but there are many different medications available that can keep this disease at bay. It is very important, however, for a patient to be totally complaint in order for these medications to work effectively. It may take increased dosages, lowered dosages or different combinations of medications in order to get the right balance that will help you maintain a healthy blood glucose level. This is why it is so important for an individual to carefully monitor their blood glucose level throughout the day and keep a record for the physician. By working with your physician and reporting symptoms and results of blood glucose monitoring, you can empower yourself to keep your diabetes in check and avoid any complications that are associated with this disease. http://vitality.all4utoday.info

Top Health Benefits of Kombucha

03:19
Subscribe to our free science-based videos: http://bit.ly/anvideos Kombucha is a fermented tea that has all sorts of powerful health benefits. Here are the top health benefits of kombucha. 1. Kombucha is a Rich Source of Probiotics Kombucha is made by adding specific strains of bacteria, yeast and sugar to black or green tea, and then allowing it to ferment for a week or more. During fermentation, the bacteria and yeast form a mushroom-like blob on the surface, which is why kombucha is also known as “mushroom tea”. This blob is actually a living symbiotic colony of bacteria and yeast, or a "SCOBY", and can be used to ferment new kombucha. The fermentation process produces vinegar and several other acidic compounds, trace levels of alcohol, gases that make it carbonated, as well as large amounts of probiotic bacteria. STUDIES: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/22127952, http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/23886977 Probiotics provide your gut with healthy bacteria, which can improve many aspects of health, including digestion, inflammation and even weight loss. For this reason, adding probiotic foods like kombucha to your diet can improve your health in many ways. 2. Kombucha Contains the Antioxidant Benefits of Green Tea Green tea contains many bioactive compounds, such as polyphenols, which function as powerful antioxidants in the body. This is what makes it one of the healthiest beverages on the planet. Kombucha made from green tea has many of the same chemical properties and therefore many of the same benefits. STUDIES: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/17557985, http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/23803878 Studies show that drinking green tea regularly can increase the amount of calories you burn, reduce belly fat, help with blood sugar control and may even reduce your risk of certain cancers . 3. Kombucha May Reduce Heart Disease Risk Heart disease is the world’s leading cause of death. Rat studies find that kombucha can greatly improve two markers of heart health, LDL and HDL cholesterol, in as little as 30 days. Tea (especially green tea) protects LDL cholesterol particles from oxidation, which is thought to contribute to heart disease. STUDY: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/18641205 In fact, green tea drinkers have up to a 31% lower risk of developing heart disease, a benefit that should also be seen from drinking kombucha. 4. Kombucha May Help Manage Type 2 Diabetes Type 2 diabetes affects over 300 million people worldwide. It's characterized by high blood sugar levels and insulin resistance. STUDY: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/22591682 A study in diabetic rats found that kombucha slowed down the digestion of carbs, which reduced blood sugar levels. It also improved liver and kidney function. Kombucha made from green tea is likely to be even more beneficial, as green tea itself has been shown to reduce blood sugar levels. STUDY: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/20008687 In fact, a review study of almost 300,000 individuals found that green tea drinkers had an 18% lower risk of becoming diabetic. So there you have it, Kombucha is a probiotic-rich tea with many health benefits. You can make it yourself at home but you have to be very careful to prepare it properly. The much safer option is to buy it in store.
