This Nobel Prize Diet Will Help You Slow Down Aging

09:45
If you’re looking for a full-proof simple diet backed by science, you’re gonna love this one. The best thing about this revolutionary amazing diet is that there are no restrictions and you can eat what you want and lose weight! All you have to do is change when you eat, not what you eat. When you eat whenever you want, including those late-night fridge raids we’re all guilty of, you mess up your circadian rhythm. You see, this is your body’s natural cycle, and it wasn’t designed for 24/7 food consumption. Dr. Panda’s team analyzed the eating habits of 156 adults. A mere 10% of them were eating within a 12-hour window, while over half enjoyed yummy stuff for at least 15 hours a day. The researchers offered 8 slightly overweight people to go from a 14-hour eating cycle down to a 10-hour window. As a result, they lost weight and felt way more energized after 4 months of enjoying their favorite meals but on a limited time gap. A smaller eating window helps you lose weight because the body burns more fat at night. Plus, both hunger and energy expenditure decrease. This was proven by a study in 2013 by the Department of Exercise Sciences at Brigham Young University. If you eat in the evening, it throws your biological clock out of whack: you become tired in the morning, since your cortisol levels are low. Your body doesn’t wake up till later in the day. In the evening, your cortisol level is high, so you get more energized and hungry even though your body needs to sleep. As a result, you have a higher risk of developing diabetes, obesity and depression. Music: https://www.youtube.com/audiolibrary/music?feature=blog Rondo Brothers- Valerie Plain Doug Maxwell - Psychedelicacy Doug Maxwell- Feeling Good Norma Rockwell - Shawl Paul TIMESTAMPS What is a “diet window”? 1:06 What happens if you reduce your eating window? 2:58 Why is the time you eat so important? 4:40 How to build your new eating schedule 6:37 How to fight the hunger 7:30 SUMMARY -A diet window is basically the time between your first and last meal of the day. When the diet window is narrower, the chances of developing diabetes, anemia, cancer, and obesity are lower. -In a 2017 study, participants with a decreased time frame for eating showed obvious weight-loss and better health. -The researchers found that different phases of the day are the best times for certain natural activities. But when we break the cycle and go against our biological clock, we increase the risk of developing obesity and diabetes. -To be more in-tune with your body’s natural cycle, you need to wake up at 6 or 7 a.m. or when it’s light outside, have breakfast 30-60 minutes after waking up. Shorten your diet window to 6-8 hours without changing how many calories you take in. -You can pull through the first rocky phase by eating fruits and vegetables. A week later, the body will get used to it, your appetite will be smaller, and you’ll start seeing all the amazing health benefits. 18 Tricks To Have A Great Poop Every Time - Saturday Strategy

http://fitlife.tv/18-tricks-to-have-a-great-poop-every-time-saturday-strategy/ 18 Tricks To Have A Great Poop Every Time - Saturday Strategy You’ve heard me talk about gut health and why it’s so important… But did you know that certain strains of probiotics can actually target the symptoms you’re dealing with on a daily basis? Like constipation and diarrhea. It’s true. A lot of people reach for laxatives when things aren’t ‘moving’ efficiently. The problem with this is that the digestive system can actually become reliant on these causing ‘lazy gut’ or a dependency. One of the main benefits that probiotics have over laxatives is that they don’t cause ‘lazy’ gut, nor do they lead to dehydration, which means you can take them on an ongoing basis. Ensuring we are populating the needs of all parts is important for all pieces to be able to work together. That’s what keeps you healthy and functioning. So what exactly does a healthy poop look like? Should your poop float or sink? How should it smell? What about color and shape? I’m going to tell you! Hidden Causes of Thyroid Disease-Blood Sugar-Thyroid

27:41
www.DrHagmeyer.com So here are 6 ways that blood sugar problems interfere with thyroid function. #1 Dysglcyemia stresses the adrenal glands which in turn stress the pituitary gland which is the master control center for all hormones. The pituitary glands makes TSH #2 Dysglycemia weakens and inflames the digestive tract- this can impact how Thyroid hormone is converted. That T4 to T3 conversion. (your Thyroids worst enemy) #3 Dysglycemia breaks down immune barriers of the gut- This can lead to Hashimotos disease. #4 Dysglcyemia induces hormone imbalances, detoxification and metabolism- this too can impair T4 to T3 conversion leading to Low T3 or Elevations in Thyroid Binding globulin. #5 Low blood sugar creates a fight or flight response this can cause problems with the Adrenals but can also cause an elevation in Reverse T3. #6- has more do to with the effects of low Thyroid- but low thyroid slows down the absorption of glucose, it also causes insulin to break down slower- both of these scenarios will keep blood sugar high and affect the pituitary gland. for more information about natural treatment options visit website: https://drhagmeyer.com/conditions/thyroid-treatments/ connect with us on facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Naperville-Thyroid-Doctor-178017625571193/?view_public_for=178017625571193

All It Takes Is One Boiled Egg to Control Sugar in The Blood

02:22
The blood sugar levels in your body rise after every time you eat something, especially if you are a Type 2 diabetic or insulin resistant. It is not easy to learn how to get your blood sugar levels under control. It can take a newly diagnosed patient several months to figure out what they can and cannot eat. While figuring this out, a patient with Type 2 diabetes will likely have some spikes in their sugar levels. Having high blood sugar is important to take seriously, as it can cause some serious health issues. If you have high blood sugar for too long, it can cause you to be more at risk for heart disease, stroke, kidney disease, vision issues and nervous system problems. Luckily, there are many foods that you can consume which will help you to control your blood sugar levels naturally, without medication. One such remedy only contains three ingredients to keep your blood sugar stabilized. You will need: - Apple Cider Vinegar. - Water. - Hard-boiled egg. Hard-boiled eggs are a great snack if you have diabetes because it is so high in protein. The protein in the egg helps you to feel full without causing your blood sugar to rise quickly. Protein slows down your digestive system and your body s absorption of glucose. This is extremely beneficial to people with diabetes. Apple cider vinegar makes your body more sensitive to insulin and helps your body from raising your blood sugar quickly. This is especially true after eating food that is high in starch. There was one study done in particular that showed positive results with Type 2 diabetics when they took apple cider vinegar before eating a meal high in glucose. How to do it: - Boil an egg in the afternoon, and peel it. - Pierce the egg a 2-3 times using a toothpick. - Put the egg in a mason jar and pour just enough vinegar over it so that it is completely covered. - Close the jar and let it soak overnight in your refrigerator. - The next morning, drink a glass of warm water and eat your egg. - Repeat this every day. Soon, you will notice that your blood sugar levels have improved and are more stabilized. If you like the video, give it a thumbs up and share it with your friends! 9 Home Remedies for Natural Colon Cleansing

05:16
The colon is a very important organ in the digestive system. Its job is to take the water, salt, vitamins, and nutrients out of food that cannot be digested, break down food that was not digested in the small intestine, and remove solid waste from the body. Before starting any colon cleansing treatment, ask your doctor for instructions, especially if you are taking any medications or suffering from any health condition. 1. Water The best thing you can do for colon cleansing is drink a lot of water. It is important to drink at least 10 to 12 glasses of water a day. This will help your body flush out the harmful toxins and waste in a natural way. Drinking a lot of water will also help the natural peristaltic action, helping the food move through the digestive system. Also, water is important to keep your body well hydrated. Together with water you can drink fresh fruit and vegetable juices. 2. Apple Juice Another great thing for colon cleansing is fresh apple juice. If you drink apple juice all the time, it can help bowel movements, break down toxins, and boost the health of the liver and the digestive system. 3. Lemon Juice Lemons are good for the digestive system because they have antioxidant properties and are full of vitamin C. For this reason, lemon juice is great for colon cleansing. Mix the juice of one lemon, a pinch of sea salt, and a little honey in a glass of lukewarm water. Drink this mixture in the morning on an empty stomach. This will give you more energy, better bowel movement, and better skin condition. 4. Raw Vegetable Juice For colon cleansing, it is important to keep away from processed and cooked foods for one or two days. Instead of eating solid foods, drink fresh vegetable juice a few times a day. Green vegetables are good because they have chlorophyll, which helps force toxins out of the body. They also have vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and enzymes which will keep your body healthy, and give you energy. You can also drink herbal teas. 5. Fiber-rich Foods Eating foods that are full of fiber will also help cleanse the colon of bad toxins. Fiber will keep the stool soft and help bowel movement, which helps the body force out waste products. Foods that are full of fiber will also get rid of any kind of intestinal problem. You can add a lot of fiber to your diet by eating fresh fruits like raspberries, pears, and apples, and fresh vegetables like artichokes, peas, and broccoli. There is also a lot of fiber in cereals, whole grains, nuts, beans and seeds. 6. Yogurt Eating fresh yogurt all the time is a good way to keep the colon healthy. Because yogurt is a probiotic food, it can bring good bacteria into the gut and help digestion. It can also fight inflammatory bowel disease. This is especially true of yogurts that have live and active cultures. 7. Flaxseed Because flaxseed is full of omega- 3 fatty acids, antioxidants, and natural fibers, adding it to your diet is a great way to cleanse your colon. Flaxseed will take in the water and then swell in the colon, and help force out toxins and mucus as the waste passes through. It can also block cancer, heart disease, and diabetes. 8. Aloe Vera Aloe vera is known for killing toxins and acts as a laxative. This makes it a great colon cleanser. Aloe vera gel can also treat other health problems, like headaches, skin infection, diarrhea, gastric pain, and constipation. Add the juice of one lemon to fresh aloe vera gel and put the mixture in the blender to make a few ounces of smooth juice. Drink it a few times a day for a few days. 9. Ginger Ginger is a common ingredient that can lessen bloating, help the colon work properly, and keep it free from waste and bad toxins. It helps digestion by making the digestive juices flow. You can use ginger in any form, such as grated, as a juice, or as cut up pieces for colon cleansing. Signs And Symptoms of Colon Cancer You Should Not Ignore

10:11
Descriptions of Warning Signs of Colon Cancer You Shouldn’t Ignore: According to the American Cancer Society, 1 in 20 people are at a risk of developing colorectal cancer during their lifetime must get colon cancer clinical trials.. The exact cause of colorectal or bowel cancer is not known. However, it is believed to develop when healthy cells become abnormal and start growing in number and accumulate in the lining of the colon, forming polyps. Left untreated, polyps may become cancerous. As it can be difficult to treat colon cancer after it spreads to nearby areas, it is important to know what the early symptoms are. This can help you seek early treatment and give you a better chance in recovery at all you must do colon cancer treatment options and know early about what is treatment for colon cancer. Here are the top 5 sign and symptoms of colorectal cancer. 1. Constipation 01:02 Constipation is an important sign of cancer in the colon. A 2011 study published in the Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention highlights the link between constipation and colorectal cancer risk. An earlier 2004 study published in the European Journal of Cancer supported the hypothesis that constipation or laxative use increases the risk of colon cancer. A tumor present at the far end of the colon can make it very difficult to eliminate waste products, thereby causing constipation. If you persistently have fewer bowel movements per week, without any prior problem of constipation, consult your doctor to find out the exact cause. 2. Diarrhea 01:59 If you suffer from diarrhea for more than a couple of weeks, it may be an early symptom of colon cancer. When a tumor partially obstructs the bowel, it can cause alternating constipation and diarrhea due to leakage of liquid stool. You may also experience frequent gas, abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting. Plus, a tumor may irritate or narrow the lining of the intestine. It is important to consult your doctor when you have diarrhea that lasts more than a few days, as it can lead to dehydration, drain your body of nutrients and signal other serious problems, such as cancer. 3. Blood in Stools 02:35 Most often, blood in the stool is due to piles (hemorrhoids), where the veins in the back passage become fragile and cause a little bleeding during a bowel movement. This type of bleeding is generally red. However, if you notice dark red or black blood in your stool, it can be a sign of cancer, such as bowel, rectal or colon cancer. It can also be due to a stomach ulcer. Whether bleeding is due to piles, a stomach ulcer or cancer, it’s important to get it checked by a doctor. Proper diagnosis is essential for appropriate treatment. 4. Constant Feeling of a Bowel Movement 03:25 If you have a constant feeling of urgently needing to have a bowel movement or to strain but no stool is passed, it is not a good sign. This feeling can occur even after having a bowel movement. Changes in your pattern of bowel movements can be a sign of colon cancer. It can occur when a tumor blocks the bowel and prevents you from completely emptying your bowels. If you persistently have the sensation of incomplete evacuation after a bowel movement, discuss the problem with your doctor. 5. Narrow Stools 04:16 Thin, narrow stools are also a warning of possible colon cancer. A tumor present in the left side of the colon obstructs the passageway and often leads to narrow stools. Do not delay discussing any change in your stools with your doctor. Diverticulitis and anal cancer can also cause narrowing of the stools. Music: Royalty Free Music from Bensound

→ 3 Things You Didn’t Know Can Cause Poor Blood Flow & Circulation

06:04
How I quickly improved my dad’s blood flow and circulation in only 30 days - NO drugs or diets! ►►http://drsam.co/yt/30DaysSolution ======================================= 3 Things You Didn’t Know Can Cause Poor Blood Flow & Circulation ======================================= So today I’m going to quickly discuss 3, little-known causes of poor blood flow and circulation. 1 -- Binge Drinking Studies have shown that drinking a glass of alcohol (distilled spirits, wine, or beer) a day can help the heart function better. It also helps maintain balance and the right proportions of fat in the blood and helps lower your chances of developing blood clots and blocked arteries. However, science also reveals that more than two drinks of alcohol a day can harm the heart. How?... Large amounts of alcohol can affect how the heart works. If the heart isn’t pumping blood throughout your body effectively, other organs may suffer from lack of oxygen or nutrients. If the person drinking has clogged blood vessels, the heart has to work even harder. Studies1 on middle-aged and older people resulted in linking binge drinking to a higher risk of cardiovascular diseases like stroke, sudden cardiac death, and heart attack. Binge drinking may also lead to hardening of your arteries, which further increases your risk of cardiovascular disease. Obviously, binge drinking should be avoided in order to have a healthy blood circulation. Typically, binge drinking happens in groups. So try to limit the time you spend with your friends who tend to be binge drinkers. 2 -- Sitting For Too Long, Especially With Bad Posture While a brief period of sitting here and there is natural, long periods of sitting day-in and day-out can seriously impact your health and shorten your life. Excessive sitting is bad for your back and is one of the causes of poor circulation. Unfortunately, most of us are sitting even more than ever because of computers. And with prolonged sitting, comes negative damages to your organs The Heart – In a sitting position, blood flow slows down and muscles don’t burn enough fat, which permits fatty acids to clog in the heart much faster. The Pancreas – The body’s ability to properly respond to insulin is badly affected by just one day of prolonged sitting. This leads the pancreas to produce more insulin, and this cause low energy, fat again and diabetes. Colon Cancer – Excessive sitting may increase your risk of colon, breast, and endometrial cancers. So, how can you avoid sitting for too long? Set an alarm on your computer, watch or phone and stand up every 30-60 minutes. Move around, stretch, grab a glass of water or do something physical. If possible, go outside for a quick 10 minute walk. Instead of sitting and talking on your cell phone, walk around. There are no cords, so you have no limits. 3 -- High Intake Of Salt A high intake of sodium is a more common cause of poor circulation. For clarity, I’m referring to regular table salt or salt found in most packaged foods. Not so much with more “natural” salts such as Himalayan or Celtic Sea Salt Sodium is a mineral and electrolyte that’s crucial for your body to function well. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention2, around 90% of sodium you get comes from salt. Sodium assists in controlling blood volume and blood pressure. However, your circulatory health may suffer if you get too much of it. A high sodium diet is linked to hypertension. According to the CDC, if sodium rises, blood pressure rises too. The Dietary Guidelines for Americans 2010 recommends you limit salt intake to less than 2,300 milligrams/day. You should not consume more than 1,500 milligrams daily if you’re over the age of 50, African-American, or have health conditions like high blood pressure, diabetes, or chronic kidney disease. Processed foods and restaurant foods are full of salt. Don’t eat these foods and you’ll be able to avoid the majority of your salt intake. You can also add in potassium rich foods or supplements, to counteract and balance the sodium intake. Eat the Right Fiber | John Douillard's LifeSpa

But is all fiber created equal? There is soluble fiber, like oatmeal, and insoluble fiber, like the cellulose in veggies. In classic western form, we are told that if you want to lose weight, lower cholesterol, or reduce the risk of diabetes, eat more soluble fiber, such as "heart-healthy" Cheerios. On the other hand, if you are constipated, feeling toxic, overeating, or at risk of colon cancer, we are told to eat more insoluble fiber in the form of vegetable roughage to boost intestinal bulk. While everyone agrees that both are necessary, and that each plays a unique role in maintaining optimal health, we are being told to emphasize one fiber over another based on symptoms, rather than the indisputable logic of nature. Join me as I help you simplify and clarify your fiber needs, and set a nutritional course based on nature's intelligence. ________________________________________________________________________ Let's Review There are two types of fiber: soluble and insoluble. Neither of them is digestible by humans and, thus, they offer no real nutritional value. However, both kinds of fiber perform certain functions in the intestinal tract that makes them absolutely necessary for optimal health. Soluble Fiber Soluble fiber is soluble in water. It becomes slimy and lubricating in the gut when it mixes with water in the digestive system. Think of psyllium or Metamucil. Food Sources Soluble fiber is found in oat bran, barley, nuts, seeds, beans, lentils, peas and some fruits and veggies. Function • Binds with fatty acids and bile in the gut, which are generally attached to bad cholesterol and toxins earmarked for the toilet. • Becomes gel-like in the gut and slows the absorptions of fats and sugars into the blood stream. Benefits • Lowers total cholesterol and LDL or bad cholesterol, thereby reducing the risk of heart disease. • Regulates or slows the blood sugar release from the gut for people with diabetes. Risks • Too much soluble fiber can dehydrate the gut. Have you ever added water to psyllium in a glass? Being a soluble fiber, it will attract water and expand quickly in the glass. If too much soluble fiber is taken, it may pull water away from the gut wall, drying it out. • The expansive effect of soluble fiber can also overly distend the gut. This could cause chronic constipation, a distended bowel, and sluggish absorption of certain nutrients such as sugars and fats into the blood stream. Insoluble Fiber Insoluble fiber does not mix with water and generally moves through the gut intact, acting as bulk and scrubbing the intestinal wall. Think of vegetable roughage. Food Sources Insoluble fiber is found in wheat bran, fruits, veggies, and whole grains. Function • Insoluble fiber tends to speed up the passage of food through the stomach and intestines, adding needed bulk to the stool. • It is also in charge of maintaining the proper pH of the gut, which regulates the balance of good bacteria in the gut. Benefits • Promotes regular bowel movement and prevents constipation • Removes toxic waste through the colon in less time. • Scrubs the villi of the intestines. • Helps prevent colon cancer by keeping an optimal pH in the intestines to prevent microbes from producing cancerous and toxic substances. Risks • Too much insoluble fiber can irritate the gut as excess roughage can inflame a sensitive digestive system. A Symbiotic Relationship While most nutritionists give soluble fibers most of the credit for cardiovascular support, blood sugar regulation and lowering cholesterol, much of these benefits would not exist without the aid of insoluble fibers. Insoluble fibers in the form of cellulose escort the toxins into the toilet. If only soluble fibers existed, toxins might be bound to soluble fibers in the gut with no way out, lingering in the gut and eventually being re-absorbed back into the bloodstream and liver. Experts at the National Academy of Sciences are recommending that these two terms, "soluble" and "insoluble," be phased out with regard to fiber, as their benefits are so intertwined that their exact roles in the gut are still unclear. Is Tequila Good For Diabetes

03:46
Can I Drink Tequila If I Have Diabetes? Download Diabetes Management Book: http://bit.ly/2g0NDAH Hello, I'm Ty Mason from TheDiabetesCouncil.com, researcher, writer and I have type 2 diabetes. Today I'm going to answer the question, is tequila good for diabetes. But before we get into that, make sure you download my free diabetes management book which also includes a diabetes grocery shopping guide (foods to eat and avoid) by clicking the link: http://bit.ly/2g0NDAH I know some of you are just wanting me to skip all the research stuff and get straight the answer of this question. But be patient, you need to understand why I am giving you the answer to this question. And let me say at the onset, before getting this question, all I really new about tequila was that is a hard alcoholic beverage and the name of a pretty cool song by The Champs Recently, a few articles popped up in newspapers and magazines stating that researchers have found that tequila helps lower blood glucose. They were pointing to a study by Dr. Mercedes G. López, a researcher at the Centro de Investigación y de Estudios Avanzados in Guanajuato, Mexico. The 2014 study discussed the effect of a natural sweetener from guava plant to aid in weight loss and reduce blood glucose levels. Known as agavins, the plant-based sweeteners slow the stomach from emptying, boosting insulin production. They’re also non-digestible, which means they act as a dietary fiber but can’t elevate a person’s blood sugar. “We have found that since agavins reduce glucose levels and increase GLP-1, they also increase the amount of insulin,” said López, Ph.D. GLP-1 (glucagon-like peptide-1) is a hormone that slows the stomach from emptying, thereby stimulating production of insulin. She added, “Agavins are not expensive and they have no known side effects, except for those few people who cannot tolerate them.” So why did I spend this time talking about the guava plant. Well, some of you probably know this, but tequila is made from the guava plant. The assumption that many made were that since agavins are so good for those with diabetes and tequila is made from the same plant, then tequila must be good for diabetes. Hold on though. López went on to explain that agavins are the only carbohydrates used to produce tequila. All ethanol in tequila comes from the fermentation of glucose and fructose generated after agave pines are cooked. But because the agavins are converted to ethanol, agavins are not found in the finished product. So tequila has none of the product found to lower blood glucose level or stimulate weight loss. So, is tequila good for diabetes? The answer is no. In fact, because the body treats alcohol like a drug, the liver spends so much of its time trying to break it down, it does a very poor job in helping to regulate low blood glucose. I am not saying those with diabetes can’t drink tequila or any other alcohol, I am just saying if you have read claims that tequila helps lower your blood sugar, those claims are absolutely false. I hope this answered your question is tequila good or bad for diabetes. Don’t forget to get your diabetes management book by clicking the link: http://bit.ly/2g0NDAH Let me know if you have any other diabetes related questions.

5 Amazing Foods You Can Eat When You Have Gastroparesis

03:01
Gastroparesis, commonly known as delayed emptying of the stomach, usually affects people who have diabetes. Damage to the vagus nerve that regulates the movement of the stomach muscles is responsible for this condition. Poor stomach motility slows down emptying of the stomach and affects digestion. Feeling full after eating small amount of food, abdominal pain and bloating, loss of appetite, nausea and vomiting are common symptoms of gastroparesis. Dietary changes help in minimizing the symptoms of gastroparesis. High fiber diet, though considered essential for diabetics without gastroparesis for blood sugar management, is not recommended for gastroparesis patients. Instead they should eat foods that are easily digestible and can move through the stomach with ease. 1. Juice Juice is well tolerated by people with gastroparesis. Drink vegetable juice and juices of fruits such as apple, pineapple, prune, cranberry and grape. However, citrus juices should be avoided. Juices can easily pass through the stomach and help in meeting the body’s demand for vitamins and minerals. 2. Soup If you are suffering from severe nausea and vomiting, sip small amounts of bouillon-like soup broth throughout the day. Take about two ounces of the soup every 30 to 60 minutes. The soup helps in restoring the hydration and electrolyte balance of the body. 3. Milk And Dairy Low fat milk and dairy are usually well-tolerated by people with gastroparesis. Fat-free or low fat milk, cheese, yogurt, cottage cheese and buttermilk are good sources of protein. However, whole fat milk, cream, cream cheese and yogurt with fruits and nuts should be avoided. 4. Animal Protein People with gastroparesis can take ground meat, fish and eggs. Avoid the fatty portions of the meat. However, animal protein is more suitable for breakfast and lunch. Do not take more than two ounces of animal protein for dinner. This helps in improving the fasting blood sugar level in diabetics with gastroparesis. 5. Vegetables In case of mild gastroparesis, low-fiber vegetables can be added to the diet. Finely shredded raw carrot, peeled and deseeded cucumber, and well-cooked, soft and pureed carrots, cauliflower, beets, squash, sweet potato and peas can be eaten when the symptoms of gastroparesis are mild. Diabetes drugs can help slow Alzheimer's, cancer

01:41
'멀티 플레이어' 당뇨약…"치매•암에도 효과" Nearly one in ten senior citizens in Korea suffers from Alzheimer's. Although there's no cure for the most common form of dementia, studies show that diabetes drugs can help. Park Se-young updates us on ways to effectively slow the progression of the condition. Diabetes is one of the most common diseases among Korean adults. Diabetes patients are more likely to suffer from Alzheimer's disease as they age due to the link between the two diseases and insulin. Like other cells in the body, neurons in the brain use glucose to fuel their activities. But if the lack of insulin hinders the metabolism of glucose in the brain, brain cells are destroyed and so are memories. Experts say diabetes drugs can alleviate such symptoms. "Diabetes drugs help prevent Alzheimer's disease by supplying the brain with enough energy and improving blood flow in the brain." Another study shows that diabetes drugs are effective against colorectal cancer and breast cancer. In addition to regulating blood sugar levels, insulin also promotes cell growth. But having too much insulin in the body causes uncontrolled growth of abnormal cells, a condition better known as cancer. Diabetes drugs can prevent or treat cancer by helping regulate insulin levels. Since the drugs have already been tested and commercialized, further developing them as cancer fighting agents is expected to save the industry both time and money... and could eventually also help save lives. 11 Signs Your Body Needs More Magnesium

03:49
Magnesium is a mineral found in many types of foods, it plays an essential role in human DNA production, repair and in maintaining healthy bones, nerves and muscles. Though it is readily available, most Americans do not meet their need for magnesium through their diet. you should consider getting your magnesium level checked if you suffer the following 11 symptoms. 1. Low energy. Magnesium is involved in at least 300 different chemical reactions in our body, and a lot have to do with energy production. A sign of low magnesium can be low energy. 2.Insomnia. If you're having a hard time falling or staying asleep, it may be due to low levels of magnesium, particularly if you are experiencing a lot of stress. Stress hormones increase blood pressure and heart rate, this is partly accomplished by depleting the body of its magnesium If there isn't enough magnesium available for the body to replenish itself, sleeping becomes a problem. 3.Constipation. Bowel movements often slow down without enough magnesium in the body. note that magnesium is the main ingredient in many over-the-counter laxatives. 4.Frequent headaches. Magnesium deficiency lowers serotonin levels, causes blood vessels to constrict and affects neurotransmitter function, all related to headaches -- especially migraines. 50% of migraine sufferers have a magnesium deficiency. 5.Twitching or cramping. Because magnesium plays an important role in muscle relaxation, insufficient intake can result in unintended muscle movement. Without magnesium, our muscles would be in a constant state of contraction 6.Low bone density. Magnesium plays a major role in bone formation, and the majority of the body's magnesium is stored in the bones. People with higher intakes of magnesium have a higher bone mineral density. 7.High blood pressure. Magnesium is very important in maintaining a healthy blood pressure, a deficiency can definitely cause pressure to be too high. Eating foods high in magnesium and other minerals can help prevent high blood pressure in people with prehypertension. 8.Type 2 diabetes. Breaking down blood sugars is another of magnesium's jobs in the human body. People with higher amounts of magnesium in their diets tend to have a lower risk of developing diabetes. Research is ongoing to determine whether magnesium therapy can be used in diabetes treatment. 9.Irregular heartbeat. With low magnesium levels, the heart can have trouble staying in its regular rhythm. doctors will often prescribe magnesium supplements for patients who complain of an irregular heartbeat. 10.Increased sensitivity to noise. Not having enough magnesium curtails its role in stabilizing the nervous system, This often results in hyperflexia, an enhanced startle reflex. And 11. Depression and anxiety. Low levels of magnesium in the brain can affect neurological functions that result in all sorts of problems. Studies have shown that some phobias -- such as agoraphobia -- have developed as a result of low magnesium levels.  Please Subscribe! ▶ https://goo.gl/ksfh7M NOTE: The materials and the information contained on Natural ways channel are provided for general and educational purposes only and do not constitute any legal, medical or other professional advice on any subject matter. 9 Signs You Have An Unhealthy Gut

04:37
If we are serious about maintaining a healthy body and mind, we would be wise to pay attention to the health of our gut. Our gastrointestinal tract is an architectural wonder. Good bacteria flourishes within the twists and turns of the colon, and is tasked with many functions. Some are responsible for giving a boost to our immune system, convert food into energy, eliminate waste and toxins. So our gut is under a lot of pressure to perform well. But when bad bacteria storms in, a gut imbalance will occur. Suddenly hormones are off balance, which can leave us vulnerable to a wide range of health issues. Most of us don’t know there’s a fight between good and evil bacteria until a state of war has been declared in our rumbling intestinal tract. In fact, a gut imbalance has been linked to hormonal imbalances, autoimmune diseases and more. In today’s video we’ll examine 9 warning signs that can alert us of a battle brewing. 1. Lack of Energy Sleepless nights are one sign. If digestion is having trouble, your metabolism will be slowed down. Therefore, the chemical breakdown of food for energy production isn’t going as planned. Bad gut bacteria can rob your body from the nutrients it needs. And some toxins that should be eliminated are scampering into other areas of your body and they are up to no good. 2. Digestive Issues Some signals are obvious: bloating, gas, diarrhea are a few warning signs. Your good gut bacteria are struggling mightily to break down food. Some gas is normal, but excessive gas that causes bloating and burping are signaling there’s trouble below. Acid reflux, IBS, and colitis are other problems that are a direct result of an invasion of bad bacteria. 3. Complexion Problems Once those bad bacteria are wreaking havoc, gut inflammations can trigger inflammations elsewhere – especially on the face. If you notice a flair up of acne, rosacea, eczema or psoriasis, it may be time to neutralize your gut. 4. Vitamin and Mineral Deficiencies To squeeze every precious nutrient and mineral from food, the gut needs to be functioning properly. Your cells depend upon them for growth, energy and repair. 5. Autoimmune Diseases A malfunctioning gut has been significantly linked to autoimmune diseases which include lupus, rheumatoid arthritis and Crohn’s disease. 6. Onset of Diabetes An unhealthy gut can also trigger the onset of Type 2 diabetes. Patients with this disease have high levels of bad bacteria in their gut. 7. Mood Issues Anytime bad bacteria are in control, you can be sure toxins will be produced. And they can disrupt the normal production of the happy hormone – serotonin – and other neurotransmitters that can elevate your mood. Instead, you are bombarded with mood swings, stress, anxiety and depression. 8. Difficulty Sleeping Deep within your gut are warehouses that stash and regulate serotonin. Without this hormone to induce and regulate sleep, you will experience a restless night of tossing and turning. 9. Stubborn Weight Those who are obese or carrying around too much weight have a different ratio of intestinal bacteria from those who maintain a healthy weight. A body that’s not properly digesting and absorbing fat will find some place to store it. Tips to build and maintain a healthy gut: Eat less sugar, which contributes to the growth of bad gut bacteria; Chew food slowly, thoroughly; Stay hydrated; Undergo a gentle detoxification monthly to eliminate toxins; Consume more probiotic foods (or supplements) to restore the balance of gut bacteria; Disclaimer: The materials and the information contained on Natural Cures channel are provided for general and educational purposes only and do not constitute any legal, medical or other professional advice on any subject matter. Blood Sugar & Insulin Balance (beyond diet) w/ Jody Stanislaw, ND

58:57
Dr. Jody discusses ways to overcome insulin resistance: http://drjodynd.com Jody’s TED Talk: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tic7X3ET4gE ====================================================== This episode is brought to you by: ➢ Health IQ, an insurance company that helps health conscious people like weightlifters, cyclist, keto dieters and vegetarians get lower rates on their life insurance. A hard workout/exercise can make you more insulin sensitive for up to 48 hours. 06:56 The average person with type 1 diabetes is on high dose insulin and eating as many carbs as they want. 07:16 Dr. Stanislaw uses Dexcom blood sugar monitor, which she feels is the most accurate sensor. 11:05 Rather than a subcutaneous insulin shot, Dr. Stanislaw injects intramuscularly. 13:09 Insulin is the pickup truck for glucose. 14:15 There are insulin receptors on muscle cells, liver cells and fat. The brain, like many other cells, does not need insulin in order to take on glucose. 14:42 Without insulin, blood glucose levels would become dangerously high. 15:31 Injected insulin is a slow response. 17:15 The more protein and fat you have with your meal, the slower your digestion. If your injected insulin hits and your food hasn't digested, you blood sugar tanks and you could pass out and die. 18:23 Dr. Stanislaw's general recommendation for her type 1 diabetes patients: Low carb and whole food. It takes you off the blood sugar rollercoaster. 18:36 No insulin means that blood sugar levels spike, causing massive damage throughout the body: 19:07 Diabetic ketoacidosis (not ketosis) can kill you. 20:59 You always need a certain level of insulin in your body. You can pass out and die if you have no insulin and you can pass out and die if you have too much insulin. 22:52 Exercise and insulin requirements: Exercise makes you more insulin sensitive. A fit person who exercises will need less insulin. 23:40 The glucose cell receptors are called GLUT4 (glucose transporter 4). Insulin carries glucose. It connects to a GLUT4 receptor on cell, which opens the cell and allows glucose in. When you exercise, the concentration of GLUT4 receptors is upregulated for 24 to 48 hours after, making you super insulin sensitive. During exercise, some of the GLUT4s don't need insulin and will take in glucose without insulin. 24:43 If you have more muscle mass in general, you have more GLUT4 all the time. Weight lifting increases insulin sensitivity. It is more effective at this than cardio. Muscles are glucose hungry. 25:45 Dr. Stanislaw makes sure that her insulin levels are low before she starts to exercise. You don't need to eat every time you exercise. Exercise makes the insulin more powerful and acts as though you just gave yourself a shot of insulin. 28:34 HIIT spikes adrenaline. Cortisol tells your liver, a major glycogen store, to break glycogen into glucose. Your bloodstream is then flooded with glucose. 33:01 To stay insulin sensitive, we should work out no less than every other day. 32:59 Fewer than 25 percent of America's 3 million type 1 diabetics have decent blood sugar levels. Seventy-five percent of Americans with type 1 diabetes is on high dose insulin and eating as many carbs as they want. 34:18 If you get sick, even before you start showing symptoms, your insulin sensitivity crashes. 36:27 Poor sleep causes inflammation and stress. 38:45 Yoga and meditation affects insulin. You must love yourself into healing. 40:12 The four pillars are the foundation for your wellbeing: mindset (emotional health, spirituality, connection, and love for yourself), sleep, exercise and food.

How to use it! Great for diabetics; slows down the sugar absorption. Psyllium Husk is a natural form of fiber of the psyllium plant that helps the digestive track and elimination of bile; an excellent inexpensive (cheep) source of fiber that takes no time to prepare; easy to use; just take it with a large amount of water and drink it fast so it can reach your stomach and not linger at the walls of your throat. This dietary fiber helps weight loss by curbing your appetite before consuming any food; so you eat less, while phyllium seed husks fill up your stomach triggering signals to your brain that you are full, although it does is not digested, but it pushes the bile though the large intestine and does not allow the absorption of sugar and fat into the blood through the intestinal walls. Learn how to stay healthy by using psyllium husk; Nazeli from BeautyHealthTravel Channel.

05:20
I was discouraged by everyone including my wife who is a physician regarding this recipe. The reason was the argument that it is so simple then why it is not used by anyone and how come the Diabetes drug industry is flourishing world wide. Even on internet at one place it showed it is not proven as there is no control study. I think we have become so used to the system that we are afraid to try even simple things unless someone advises us and charges us a lot of money for the advice. So I decided to take matter in my own hand and started to try it. It worked so well for me that I feel others should try it and spread the word so it can help everyone. I have been using it for two weeks and are already seeing the effect as I measure my blood sugar many times a day. I stopped my insulin but I am taking other medicines prescribed by the doctor but will gradually wean them out or reduce them as it is warranted. I did find a writeup supporting Okra with details, but it is so easy to try with no side effect that one should try oneself. here is the write up I found that goes in details of how it works. Okra is fast gaining a reputation as a so-called 'superfood' for people with or at risk of diabetes or cancer. Commonly referred to as ladyfingers, or by its biological names Abelmoschus esculentus and Hibiscus esculentus, okra is known to have a positive effect on blood sugar control, among many other health benefits. What is okra? Okra is a tall-growing vegetable that traces its origin from ancient Ethiopia (Abyssinia) through to Eastern Mediterranean, India, the Americas and the Caribbean. Parts of the plant (immature okra pods) are widely used vegetables in tropical countries and are typically used for making soups, stews or as a fried/boiled vegetable. These tender pods are very low in calories, providing just 30 calories per 100 g, and contain no saturated fats or cholesterol. They are also rich in nutrients, completely non-toxic, and have no adverse side effects. How can it help treat diabetes? Evidence of okra having anti-diabetic properties has increased in recent years, with multiple Vitro (laboratory) and Vivo (animal) studies confirming okra as a potent blood glucose-lowering (or anti-diabetic) food. In one study, published 2011 in the Journal of Pharmacy & BioAllied Sciences, researchers in India found that diabetic mice fed dried and ground okra peels and seeds experienced a reduction in their blood glucose levels, while others showed a gradual decrease in blood glucose following regular feeding of okra extract for about ten days. Outside of scientific research, many people with diabetes have reported decreasing blood sugar levels after soaking cut-up okra pieces in water overnight and then drinking the juice in the morning, while in Turkey roasted okra seeds have been used as a traditional diabetes medicine for generations. What's behind this effect? The superior insoluble fibre contained in okra is believed to help stabilise blood glucose by slowing the rate at which sugar is absorbed from the intestinal tract. Other health benefits Because okra is a rich source of dietary fibre, important vitamins and minerals, and powerful antioxidants, the vegetable is known to be beneficial for health in a number of ways. These include: • Preventing and improving constipation • Lowering cholesterol • Reducing the risk of some forms of cancer, especially colorectal cancer • Improving energy levels and improving symptoms of depression • Helping to treat sore throat, irritable bowel, ulcers and lung inflammation

Take Dr. Berg's Advanced Evaluation Quiz: http://bit.ly/EvalQuiz Dr. Berg talks about weight loss plateau. 1. Keep your carbs below 20 grams (esp. if you have a slow metabolism) 2. No snacking between meals - do intermittent fasting (don't eat when you are not hungry). If you have low blood sugars, add more fat at the meal. 3. Keep your vegetables on the high end. You will need the fiber for the gut and the nutrients 4. Hidden carbs - avoid alcohol and fruit are the most common. 5. Stress - go from long walks and change your environment. 6.Sleep - this can kill your metabolism. Adding another hour of sleep could be the difference between losing and not losing 7. Other health problems - if you have "other" health problems like thyroid, constipation, problems with your cycles (menstruation), and inflammation. 8. Supplements (add minerals and B-vitamins) 9. Is Chronic Stress Slowing Ketosis?

03:06
ADD YOUR SUCCESS STORY: https://www.drberg.com/add-client-success-story Take Dr. Berg's Free Keto Mini-Course: http://pxlme.me/-i717vtY or go here: https://www.drberg.com/how-to-do-ketosis Download Keto Essentials https://m.me/drericberg?ref=w2128577 In this video, I talked about another barrier that prevents people to get into ketosis called chronic stress. High levels of stress increase the hormone called cortisol and it is a type of hormone that makes the liver increase sugars even without consuming sugar. The high levels of sugar then leads to high levels of insulin and with high insulin you cannot get into ketosis and can make you gain more weight. He also talks about the different causes of stress. Cause of Stress: • Problem • Relationships • Sick Parent • Losses • Chronic Pain • Constant Worry Remedies: • Take vitamin B1- Nutritional yeast is a good source. • Long walks • More Sleep Hey guys, I wanted to talk about another barrier that prevents people from getting into ketosis and that topic is stress, mental stress. It could be physical stress too but with mental stress, you have the stress that you are not adding and exertion, exercise or movement to burn of that excess sugar because high levels of stress increase the hormone called cortisol. And cortisol is a type of hormone that has a lot to do with sugars. Even the name of it is called gluco, glucocorticoides. So cortisol increases sugar and it actually causes the liver to make sugar even when you are not consuming any sugar. And with the high levels of sugar, you have a high levels of insulin. So when the insulin is too high, you are not gonna get into ketosis and you are gonna actually gain weight. Even the condition right here in Frank Netter's book Encyclopedia of Endocrinology. High Levels of cortisol will cause you to get belly fat, it can even cause diabetes. Stress is the thing that activates that. let's say you have this chronic ongoing problem with something lets say you have a teenager that is in trouble with something, drugs or whatever it is and you are constantly worrying about it. You're in a bad relationship with, can't communicate. Boom! Increase stress. You have a sick parents you have to take care of, constantly you are stress about that. You have a loss that you are stock in, or you are in this situation where you have chronic pain that just won't heal from an accident or something. You have this condition of pain, constant stress, constant worry, even the constant pain where you have a lot of medications you can't seem to get off with. The problem is when you are in this stress mode, sometimes you get stuck with it and you can't get out. You are gonna have to figure out how are you going to get out of this stressful situation to actually reduce the cortisol because that's actually the thing that is going to solve everything. But in the meantime you are gonna take vitamin B1, nutritional yeast is a good source for that. This will greatly reduce stress and stress depletes you B1 so putting it back in there will give you a lot of relief. Walking is vital, I am talking about, not like 5 minutes, I am talking about an hour or two a day, very therapeutic. Not with the headphones on, just you walking with nature very therapeutic. More sleep, take naps. These will help. Dr. Eric Berg DC Bio: Dr. Berg, 52 years of age is a chiropractor who specializes in Healthy Ketosis & Intermittent Fasting. I made great progress although no my wife and I were trying for a baby and I have been told I have low sperm due to varicocele and that we will never get pregnant naturally. we have both started fruit on detox and 14 week protocol - is there anything else I can do? 44:23 – Paul - I have a question about eye health - Can you improve eye sight? I can see great close up (short sited) but when driving I prefer to wear glasses as I can read road sign directions a lot sooner and looking at things from a distance is just not clear at all, I'd love to correct this and not wear glasses. 51:43 – My eyes indicate that I’m highly toxic. I can feel in my tummy that everything is messed up and I really need a detox. What I've done? I've switched from a plant based diet with starches, cooked foods and lost of porridge, fruits and veggies to a paleo diet in order to heal my intestines and stop the overgrowth of candida. 1:31:40 – Carlos - I suffer from ADD, depression, sudden drops in blood sugar when hungry, degeneration of the upper and middle spine, swelling of feet when I eat, baldness, grey hair, and vision problems. I feel I must deal with these issues now as I'm almost 33 yrs old, specially the ADD which has caused many interpersonal issues and extreme loneliness. My job, lifeguard in Disney World, requires me to be extremely focused at all times, how can I detox without being in lala land while working? 1:41:58 – Chris – I have had diabetes for 18 years. Oral medication kept my blood sugars under control for the first three years or so. The last 15 years I have been taking insulin. The last test I had to measure how much insulin my body was making showed that it was making a trivial amount (my doctor’s words, I never did get a more concrete answer), but that was several years ago.

Eating SWEET POTATOES Good for DIABETICS? Can Sweet Potatoes Raise Diabetic Patients Glucose?

12:51
HOW/Are SWEET Potatoes GOOD for Diabetics? http://bit.ly/2zjSPM6 15 REASONS Why Sweet POTATOES Are Perfect for Diabetics. If you don't eat sweet potatoes very often, or only at holiday time when they're smothered in melted marshmallow goo and baked until they're unrecognizable, you're missing out on one of nature's truly perfect foods. They're low in calories http://bit.ly/2CxoCb2, high in fiber http://bit.ly/2BtqFhb, great for diabetics and people who are carbohydrate sensitive http://bit.ly/2kEuacD, and packed with vitamins and minerals. So good for you is the humble sweet potato that Nutrition Action Health Letter once rated it the number one healthiest vegetable. Because it's so delectable and versatile, the sweet potato is one of my favorite foods. It's too bad that many of us only eat sweet potatoes in dishes with a great deal of added sugar and fat. Not only are these preparations not very healthful, they often fail to show off the best qualities of this truly versatile vegetable. According to Janice Bohac, PhD, a research geneticist and sweet potato breeder at the USDA Agricultural Research Service's Vegetable Laboratory in Charleston, SC, sweet potatoes contain a high-quality protein, similar to that found in eggs, and are packed with nutrients, including high levels of carotenoids (especially beta-carotene), copper, vitamins C and E, and fiber. What's more, sweet potatoes are much lower on the glycemic index scale than white potatoes. That means that even carbohydrate-sensitive people and diabetics can include these good carbs in their diets. Dr. Bohac is discovering and developing new varieties of sweet potatoes that I hope will expand the limited choices now available to most of us. These range from very sweet, moist ones to drier, lighter-fleshed varieties that make excellent stand-ins for white potatoes."You can survive on sweet potatoes during periods of starvation," says Dr. Bohac. "They're a far more complete food than rice." Under a grant from the McKnight Foundation in Minnesota, Dr. Bohac is now working with researchers in Uganda to develop improved sweet potato varieties with more beta-carotene and resistance to devastating pests. Simply Delicious Recipes In general, bake moist, orange-fleshed varieties at about 400 degrees F for 40 to 50 minutes (prick first with a fork). They need no added sugar. Drier types can be microwaved for 5 to 10 minutes on high, depending on their size; prick with a fork before cooking. Or, cut them up, and pan-fry them in a little olive oil. Mashed sweets. You can roast or boil peeled sweet potatoes until they're tender, then mash them as you would white potatoes. Season with chopped garlic that you've sauteed quickly in a bit of olive oil. Roasted sweets. I peel and cube sweet potatoes, toss them in olive oil, salt, and pepper, spread them in a baking pan (don't crowd!), and roast them at 450 degrees F. Stir every 10 minutes until they're nicely browned. Bottom line: Eat sweet potatoes more often, and experiment with new ways of preparing them. sweet potato health benefits, how much sugar does a sweet potato have, sweet potato benefits, benefits of sweet potatoes, diabetic sweet potato recipes, best potatoes for diabetics, sweet potato diabetes cure, diabetes management, diabetic sweet potato casserole, diabetes cure, sweet potatoes for diabetics, diabetic diet, diabetes diet, sweet potatoes, type 2 diabetes, are sweet potatoes good for diabetics, health benefits of sweet potatoes, sweet potato, yams and diabetes, sweet potatoes for diabetics, diabetes, nutrition, health benefits, diabetic alternative., sweet potato benefits 😍😍😍😍😍 Like, Share and Subscribe Our Channel if you think these video is informative and helpful. Natural Herbs For Diabetes - Top 5 Natural Herbs For Diabetes

04:19
These top 5 natural herbs for diabetes have shown some promise in lowering blood sugar, boosting insulin sensitivity, reducing high blood pressure and cholesterol, and more. 1. Gymnema Sylvestre This plant’s Hindi name translates as “sugar destroyer,” and the plant is said to reduce the ability to detect sweetness. It’s regarded as one of the most powerful herbs for blood-sugar control. It may work by boosting the activity of enzymes that help cells use glucose or by stimulating the production of insulin. Though it hasn’t been studied extensively, it’s not known to cause serious side effects. 2. Bitter Melon The aptly named bitter melon is thought to help cells use glucose more effectively and block sugar absorption in the intestine. When Philippine researchers had men and women take bitter melon in capsule form for three months, they had slight, but consistently, lower blood sugar than those taking a placebo. Gastrointestinal problems are possible side effects. 3. Prickly Pear Cactus The ripe fruit of this cactus has been shown in some small studies to lower blood sugarlevels. You may be able to find the fruit in your grocery store, but if not, look for it as a juice or powder at health food stores. Researchers speculate that the fruit may possibly lower blood sugar because it contains components that work similarly to insulin. The fruit is also high in fiber. 4. Bilberry This relative of the blueberry contains powerful antioxidants in its fruit and leaves. These antioxidants, called anthocyanidins, seem to help prevent damage to tiny blood vessels that can result in nerve pain and retinopathy (damage to the eye’s retina). Animal studies have also suggested that bilberry may lower blood sugar. 5. Ginseng Known for its immune-boosting and disease-fighting benefits, this Chinese herb has several positive diabetes studies behind it. Researchers have found that ginseng slows carbohydrate absorption; increases cells’ ability to use glucose; and increases insulin secretion from the pancreas. A team from the University of Toronto has repeatedly demonstrated that ginseng capsules lower blood glucose 15 to 20 percent compared to placebo pills.

Stephen Cunnane - Can Ketones Slow Down Alzheimer’s?

56:45
This lecture is part of the IHMC Evening Lecture series. https://www.ihmc.us/life/evening_lectures/ A diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease (AD) strikes fear into everyone. But can AD be slowed down; can we do something to delay when it starts and how hard it strikes? There is growing evidence that a conscientious prevention approach can help one resist AD. The prevention approach to AD is the same as for what are called the ‘chronic Western diseases’ – hypertension, type 2 diabetes and obesity. The hormone insulin appears to play a key role in AD. Insulin tends to be less effective at controlling blood sugar (glucose) in older people, especially if they are sedentary. This in turn decreases the amount of fuel getting to the brain making it harder for brain cells to talk to each other so memories gradually slip away. Our research shows that it is difficult to increase glucose supply to the brain once it has declined in older people, even with exercise. Ketones are the brain’s back-up fuel and the brain of someone with AD can use ketones as well as the brain of a young adult. Moderate exercise helps get more ketones into the brain. Some older people may not be able to exercise but one can make a ketone drink made from medium chain triglyceride (MCT) in one’s kitchen. We are in the middle of a trial with an MCT drink in people at high risk of AD. The early results show a significant benefit for memory. There will be no miracle cures for AD but a prevention approach may delay and/or slow it down. A major focus of Dr. Cunnane’s research over the past 30 years has been to develop a better understanding of the role of omega-3 fatty acids and ketones in human brain development and function. His team uses PET and MR imaging to study the impact of aging on brain structure and fuel metabolism. This information is applied to the development of keto-neurotherapeutic strategies for reducing the risk and progression of aging-associated cognitive decline and Alzheimer’s disease. He has published over 300 peer-reviewed research papers and five books. Two of his books highlight the concept that the key role of ketones for normal human brain development was of importance to overcoming the nutritional, metabolic and structural constraints on human brain evolution: Survival of the Fattest: The Key to Human Brain Evolution (World Scientific 2005), and Human Brain Evolution: Influence of Fresh and Coastal Food Resources (Wiley, 2010). Dr. Cunnane was elected to the French National Academy of Medicine in 2009. In Oct 2017, he received the Chevreul Medal from the French Society for the Study of Lipids for outstanding contributions in the area of omega-3 fatty acid metabolism and the role of ketones in optimal brain function during aging.

How To Lower Blood Sugar Immediately

05:00
You can find Sensolin here: https://www.truthnutra.com/sensolin-yt In the next 60 seconds I'm going to show how to lower blood sugar immediately and naturally increase insulin sensitivity. So first off, let's take a look at… What is insulin? Insulin is a hormone that's produced by the pancreas, that helps turn sugars from carbohydrates to energy. It also allows the body to store glucose for future use. The muscles and liver store the sugars as glycogen, which causes muscle cells to expand. Likewise, fat cells store the sugar as triglycerides and may expand as well. Now, what is insulin sensitivity, and insulin resistance. Insulin sensitivity is how receptive the body is to the insulin it produces. When the body is properly sensitive to insulin, it uses that insulin produced and effectively removes it from the bloodstream, making energy and storing glucose for later. A healthy body is sensitive to insulin, which means it needs to make less insulin to stay healthy. Better yet, being more insulin sensitive allows the body to utilize carbohydrates properly for more energy, building muscle, and will also help the body store less fat. What's even better, is that greater insulin sensitivity is going to lead to higher T levels in men. Now what are some signs that a person might have poor insulin sensitivity? Or have developed insulin resistance? Higher insulin levels can cause weight gain, higher insulin levels can cause aging, higher insulin levels can cause reduced T, higher insulin levels increases cravings for junk foods, and also leads to blood pressure issues. With all of this in mind, for anyone who feels as though they're one of those people who is constantly riding the blood sugar roller coaster, with blood sugar all over the place, depending on what you eat, when you eat, and you get hangry and get crazy when they don't have food, For everyone who needs help with blood sugar control and needs to increase their insulin sensitivity naturally, and for the good people out there who don't want to go take drugs to achieve this, I've got 3 natural compounds to use today to simply, and quickly increase insulin sensitivity naturally and get control over those cravings once again. Now the first thing is what's known as berberine. Now berberine is an alkaloid extract taken from various plants and it's been used in traditional chinese medicine for centuries. Some of the benefits of berberine include, anti-inflammatory and antidiabetic effects, improved intestinal health, improved cholesterol numbers, increased exercise performance, and decreased blood pressure. Now the recommended dosage for berberine is between 500-1500mg/day. It's also recommended to take this dosage split between 2-3 times throughout the day. Now next up, we have cinnamon ceylon oil. Cinnamon is commonly used as a spice but it's also known for its numerous biological effects on the body. The best type of cinnamon is ceylon because it has lower coumarin content. Cinnamon has a ton of benefits, including reducing the rate at which glucose enters the body, improved glucose usage in cells, lower fasting blood sugar, and improved cholesterol levels. Now the recommended dosage for daily cinnamon intake is between 1-6g per day. And the third compound, the third natural ingredient that you can consume on a daily basis is actually what's known as chromium. Chromium is an essential mineral that's consumed through your diet. It's found in plant products and grains. The benefits of chromium include, a regulation of glucose metabolism, improved insulin sensitivity, it is used to treat glucose intolerance in type 2 diabetes, leads to a great reduction in appetite, improved symptoms of depression, and a noticeable increase in libido with the right amount of chromium. Now the daily recommended dosage of chromium is between 800-1000 mcg. At this point, some of y'all are probably wondering: where do we get all these things? One option is to search around on Amazon and try to find them, but we did at Truth Nutra is that we put together a supplement known as Sensolin (hold up sensolin bottle). Sensolin is specifically designed with these three ingredients at the exact clinical dosages shown in human studies to actually work, to actually help regulate blood glucose and to help with insulin sensitivity. Now we put them all in here, it's a very simple supplement. And it actually works. Eat 2 Tablespoons of Coconut Oil Daily for These Amazing Health Benefits!

04:29
Eat 2 Tablespoons of Coconut Oil Daily for These Amazing Health Benefits! The health benefits of coconut oil keep coming to light. From using it to prevent balding hair to using it as toothpaste and a facial scrub, the applications for coconut oil are never-ending. While it can work wonders as a beauty product, the benefits to eating just two tablespoons a day will have you running to the store to stock your cabinets with it, if you haven’t already! Here are five great reasons why coconut oil should be your new best friend: 1. Coconut Oil Can Help You Lose Weight While most people are in a caloric deficit state when trying to lose weight, the foods that they’re eating still matter, even if they stay within their calorie limit. Coconut oil is a great healthy fat option to aid in weight loss. Yes, coconut oil is a fat. But it’s a good fat. It consists almost entirely of medium-chain fatty acids that give your metabolism a boost. Coconut oil is also more thermogenic than many other foods, so eating it can increase energy expenditure and help you burn more calories. Maintaining healthy organs is key to losing weight right. Coconut oil helps to protect your liver, allowing your thyroid to function at a higher level. Whether you’re just kicking off you’re weight loss journey or you’re mid-way through it, you’ll want to incorporate coconut oil into your daily routine. 2. Coconut Oil is Pro-Health and Anti-Everything Bad! Coconut oil not only tops the list of anti-inflammatory foods. Its health benefits go much further: Anti-bacterial – stops harmful bacteria and infections dead in their tracks Anti-carcinogenic – boosts immunity and keeps cancer cells from spreading Anti-fungal – destroys fungus and yeast that lead to infections Anti-inflammatory – repairs tissue while suppressing inflammation Anti-microbial – fights infection and inactivates harmful microbes Anti-oxidant – protects against damage from free radicals Anti-retroviral/parasitic/protozoa/viral – rids the body of lice, and parasites such as tapeworms; kills infection in the gut, destroys viruses that cause influenza, herpes, measles, hepatitis and more Just two tablespoons a day of this superfood can help protect you from disease and infection, and keep your body healthy and happy! 3. Coconut Oil Stabilizes Blood Sugar and Insulin Levels Although it is a fat, coconut oil can indirectly help control blood sugar and insulin levels. It helps glucose enter your cells, slowing and reducing insulin levels in the blood. The healthy fat in coconut oil slows the digestive process to allow for a steady stream of energy from your food. Other vegetable oils such as soybean, corn and canola oils are made up of long-chain fatty acids which can actually decrease the cells’ ability to absorb blood sugar, and aggravate diabetes or insulin resistance. This is why doctors typically recommend a low-fat diet for diabetics. Coconut oil, consisting of medium-chain fatty acids, is the exception. 4. Coconut Oil Lowers Your Risk of Heart Disease Populations that consume coconut oil have been found to be some of the most heart-healthy. A study done on people in Papua New Guinea (who thrive on coconut oil and other coconut foods) found no signs of stroke or heart attack in the study’s participants, while a study done on Polynesians, who consume over 60% of their total calories from coconut, also showed participants to be in great health, with no evidence of heart disease. Unlike polyunsaturated fatty acid oils, coconut oil does not cause arterial damage. Instead, it helps to lower risk of heart disease and other heart problems. 5. Coconut Oil Kills Candida Fungus If you haven’t heard of Candida, you can read about it here. It’s a fungus that spreads throughout the blood stream and shows itself in many different forms, and it is estimated that one out of three Americans is affected by it. There are a variety of causes, from birth control or stress to a diet high in sugar. Candida can be the reason a person is unable to sleep, unable to lose weight or unable to reduce their stress level. Coconut oil helps to fight the rampid fungus and stop it before it spreads! https://youtu.be/bvDy9vU6SWQ

Anti-Type II Diabetes Rap - Nutritional Management for Preventing Type II Diabetes

04:52
Anti-Type II Diabetes Rap - Nutritional Management for Preventing Type II Diabetes. Course: KIN 130 - Human Nutrition Professor: Leah Esplen Simon Fraser University, British Columbia, Canada SONG ARTISTS Chris "Panchris" Velasco Vanessa "Intestinessa" Prescott Jennifer "Juojenum" Lai PUN ON WORDS Panchris, representing a pancreas Intestinessa, representing an intestine Juojenum, representing a duodenum This project is a rap song that uses modern-day slang language to educate high school students and young adults about what they should and should not consume in their diets in order to prevent the acquisition of Type II Diabetes. The rap song starts off with a statistic from the journal, Current Problems in Pediatric and Adolescent Health Care (2004), projecting that "one out of every three children born in the year 2000 onwards will go on to develop diabetes." This is done to get the attention of the young adults and to get them to continue listening to the song and to teach them that if they do not take action from a nutritional standpoint to prevent acquiring Type II Diabetes, they may be one of the 33% who acquires it. The song first informs the listener about an original research article by Melissa M. Kaczmarczyk from the Division of Nutritional Sciences, along with her colleagues Michael J. Miller and Gregory G. Freund from the University of Illinois (2012), showing that dietary fiber helps prevent Type II Diabetes by reducing the digestion and absorption speed of macronutrients; the digestive process is slowed down so that nutrients will remain. Dietary fiber also reduces the amount of time that cancer causing agents attempt to cause damage in the intestine; for example, hyperlipidemia, hypercholesterolemia, and hyperglycemia are all reduced through proper intake of dietary fiber. After informing the listener about how dietary fiber prevents Type II Diabetes, it recommends eating foods that are rich in dietary fiber, such as beans, lentis, peanutes, peace, whole wheat foods, avocado, and broccoli. Next, the song cites a research article from Diabetic Medicine (2012) to show that Vitamin D supplements stabilize blood pressure in the sunless seasons and would therefore be good for combatting Type II Diabetes. It then informs the listener that they should avoid high sugar intake to prevent acquiring Type II Diabetes, but complex carbohydrates such as more vegetables, minerals, fiber, and less refined grains are important for preventing them (Henrikson & Kolset, 2007). The song does bring to light an opposing viewpoint, showing that high-cocoa polyphenol-rich chocolate can improve HDL cholesterol to deal with Type II Diabetes (Mellor et al., 2010). The song points out that this is fine, as long as it is eaten in moderation as opposed to in excess. The song concludes with a summary of the recommendations for preventing Type II Diabetes: consume dietary fiber and Vitamin D regularly, eat less sugar, but adequate amounts of dark chocolate. TOP 11 Surprising Olive Oil Benefits - Superfoods You Need

11:53
11 Surprising Olive Oil Benefits The health benefits of olive oil include treatment of colon and breast cancer, diabetes, heart problems, arthritis, and high cholesterol. It also aids in weight loss, improves metabolism, digestion, and prevents aging. It is a staple ingredient for many culinary preparations and also serves a variety of medicinal purposes. It helps in lowering the bad cholesterol levels in our blood, as it is rich in monounsaturated fats. The extra virgin olive oil variety contains the highest level of antioxidant polyphenols and oleic acid. It is thus a healthier option compared to other vegetable oils. However, it also has lots of calories, so it should be used in moderate amounts for the best health results. The Food and Drug Administration recommends 2 tablespoons every day to reduce the risk of heart disease. What is Olive Oil? Olive oil, as we all know, is an essential fruit oil, which we get from the olive tree crop found mainly in the Mediterranean regions. It has been used by mankind for many centuries. It is utilized for cooking purposes, developing cosmetic products and soaps, for medicinal purposes, and as pharmaceutical supplements. It can also be used as fuel and for lighting lamps. Types of Olive Oil Various types of this oil include the following: Virgin Olive Oil: This variety is used for cooking with a lower acid content. Extra Virgin Olive Oil: This is a much better variety and is made by cold pressing the olive fruit. Pure Olive Oil: This type is a combination of refined and virgin oils. It contains a highly acidic content. Lampante Oil: It is used as a fuel and is not recommended for cooking purposes. Olive Oil Nutrition Facts Rich in antioxidants, vitamin K, and vitamin E, olive oil boasts a very good nutritional profile. It has mono-saturated fats like oleic acid and palmitoleic acid, which constitutes 10g of the total fatty acid count of 14g in this oil. Olive oil is also free of carbs and cholesterol, thereby reducing the risk of heart diseases. The calorie count of this oil is similar to canola oil or butter, at around 120 calories in 1 tbsp of olive oil. Health Benefits of Olive Oil Olive oil has numerous beneficial qualities. Some of them are as follows: Reduces Heart Problems The natural olive oil contains 70% monounsaturated fatty acid. As a result, it lowers cholesterol accumulation in the blood and reduces heart problems. Lowers Cholesterol Levels LDL cholesterol is the bad type of cholesterol, which increases the risk of heart attacks and pulmonary heart diseases. Extra virgin olive oil, which is rich in almost 40 antioxidant chemicals, helps reduce the oxidation effects of LDL cholesterol. It also helps increase the HDL cholesterol levels. Weight Loss Medical experts suggest that it is very difficult to gain weight from the mono-unsaturated fats present in olive oil. Research on Mediterranean olive oil has shown positive results with regards to using it for weight loss. Boosts Metabolism Olive oil boosts the metabolism, the growth of good bone structure, and brain development in children. It is an excellent source of vitamin E, which is very beneficial for older people. Prevents Inflammation Olive oil is rich in phenols that have anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties. As a result, its use helps inhibit the growth of pathogenic bacteria and relieve inflammation. Improves Digestion Olive oil is known to aid in the digestive process. It is used as a medicinal oil to clean the digestive tract and improve bowel movements. Delays Aging Rich in antioxidants, olive oil slows the natural aging process of the human body. Used in cosmetic products and natural herbal therapy, it does wonders for the skin by giving it a natural shine. Olive oil Prevents Gallstones Use of olive oil is also effective in preventing gallstones. Strengthens Cell Walls Olive oil contains polyphenols which help in building stronger cell walls. It also increases the elasticity of arterial walls, protecting you against various heart conditions. Reduces Risk of Cancer Olive oil is said to protect the human body against cancerous growth, especially bowel cancer. Medical research done at the Oxford University has shown positive signs that the acidic content of this oil can prevent the commencement of rectum and bowel cancer. Prevents Breast Cancer A recent research study suggests that hydroxytyrosol, a major component of olive oil may help prevent breast cancer in postmenopausal women. Lowers Hypertension A recent research study suggests that a Mediterranean diet comprising of food rich in unsaturated fats (found in olive oil and nuts), nitrite, and nitrate (found in leafy green vegetables) may help protect you from hypertension. There are several grades of olive oil, according to the flavor, aroma, acidic value, and color. Readers are advised to buy authentic oil with proper evaluation for cooking or medicinal purposes. See What Happens If You Eat oatmeal For Breakfast Everyday

Oats are among the healthiest grains on earth. They're a gluten-free whole grain and a great source of important vitamins, minerals, fiber and antioxidants. Studies show that oats and oatmeal have many health-benefits. These include weight-loss, lower blood-sugar levels and a reduced risk of heart disease. Here are 8 Things that happen to your body when you eat oatmeal everyday at breakfast. 1.Prevents cardiovascular disease The antioxidants present in oats are beneficial for heart disease and the dietary fibers help lower the bad cholesterol without affecting the good cholesterol. Oats also contain plant lignans, especially enterolactone, which protect against heart disease. Thus, oats help reduce your cholesterol levels and keep your heart healthy. It is a key food item that has proven to be good for the heart. 2.Reduces cancer risk Lignan, the same compound which helps prevent cardiovascular disease also "helps reduce chances of hormone-related cancers like breast, prostate and ovarian-cancer", according to the American Cancer Society. Therefore, eating oats is good for both men and women. 3.Supports weight loss Oats is a low-calorie food which slows digestion and makes you feel full longer. Thus, reducing your cravings and helping you shed a few pounds. Cholecystokinin, a hunger-fighting hormone, is increased with the oatmeal compound beta-glucan.  4.Reduces Colon Cancer A high-fiber diet can be beneficial when it comes to reducing the risk of colorectal cancer. Its soluble fiber and insoluble fiber can help speed up the passage of food and waste. Soluble fiber dissolves in water, which delays the emptying of your stomach, keeping you full for longer periods of time. Meanwhile, insoluble fiber has a laxative effect and adds bulk to the stool, which prevents constipation. This fiber attracts water and passes through the digestive tract easily, speeding the passage of food and waste. This is what promotes good colon-health. 5.Protects skin Oats have been used as a soothing agent to relieve itch and irritation while also providing an array of benefits for the skin. According to The American Academy of Dermatology, Oatmeal is able to normalize the skin’s ph. It also helps moisturize and soften the skin. 6.Oats Can Improve Blood Sugar Control Type-2 diabetes is a common disease, characterized by significantly elevated blood sugars. It usually results from decreased sensitivity to the hormone insulin. Oats may help lower blood sugar-levels, especially in people who are overweight or have type-2 diabetes. They may also improve insulin sensitivity. These effects are mainly attributed to beta-glucan's ability to form a thick gel that delays emptying of the stomach and absorption of glucose into the blood. 7.Prevents constipation Oats are a rich source of fiber, both soluble and insoluble, which helps in regulating bowel-movements and hence prevents constipation.  8.Rich source of magnesium  Oats are also a rich source of magnesium, which is key to enzyme function and energy production, and helps prevent heart attacks and strokes by relaxing blood-vessels, aiding the heart-muscle, and regulating blood-pressure. The high levels of magnesium nourish the body’s proper use of glucose and insulin-secretion.

What Are Slow Calories? | The New Discovery!? for Weight Loss from Japan

02:33
What Are Slow Calories? | The New Discovery for Weight Loss from Japan As you may know, Japan has the lowest obesity rate among developed countries. How do we consistently rank so well while the rest of the developed world struggles with obesity? Well, part of the reason why we have a low obesity rate is because we eat foods with slow calories. So, what are slow calories? Recently, the newly established Association of Slow Calorie Research for Health has promoted the importance of “slow calories.” Slow calories refer to food that slows the digestion and absorption of carbohydrates in your intestines. In fact, quick digestion of food increases your risk for diabetes and weight gain. In the past, people believed that the faster you digested your food, the better. Yet, recent studies show that quick digestion and absorption of carbohydrates causes your insulin to spike, which can lead to weight gain. So, what foods have slow calories and what are some other tricks that we make foods slow calories? 1. Foods with Slow Calories Colored carbs, such as brown rice or brown bread, contain fiber which slows down digestion. When you have a choice, always opt for colored carbs. 2. 1) Vegetables 2) Protein 3) Carbs Eating order matters. When you eat carbs at the beginning of a meal, you cause your insulin to spike. Always eat your vegetables first, protein second, and carbs last. By doing so, your carbs are covered by vegetable fibers. Since they are coated in vegetable fibers, your body digests and absorbs your carbs slower. Now, I’m not saying you should finish all your vegetables before moving onto protein and carbs. You can just repeat this cycle as you eat. The most important thing is to eat some vegetables before eating other food. If there is soup, you should enjoy it a little bit before you eat your vegetables. 3. Chew More When you eat too fast, you tend to eat more because it takes time for your brain to recognize that you’re full. By chewing more, you can prevent overeating. In Japan, we are taught to chew 30 times per bite at school. It’s very hard to chew that many times (and I’ve never been able to do so), but at least try to chew more.
