Upload Your Before & After Here: https://www.drberg.com/add-client-success-story Take Dr. Berg's Advanced Evaluation Quiz: http://bit.ly/EvalQuiz Your report will then be sent via email analyzing 104 potential symptoms, giving you a much deeper insight into the cause-effect relationship of your body issues. It's free and very enlightening. Dr. Berg explains what statins are and what the pros and cons are. Find out what the risks are of taking this medication and why it is prescribed in the first place. Among the risks of statins, it blocks the enzymes that produce cholesterol. Why is that important? It's because your body makes cholesterol naturally everyday for vital functioning of your body. Without it, your body will start to break down. It's one thing to lower your cholesterol in your diet so you have the normal levels of cholesterol, but it's completely different to make your body stop producing it altogether. Dr. Berg explains the natural way to lower your cholesterol and how to go about it the right way. (All proceeds Dr. Greger receives from the sales of his books, DVDs, and speaking engagements go to support the 501c3 nonprofit that runs NutritionFacts.org.) DESCRIPTION: Reducing cholesterol levels may inhibit breast cancer development, but the long-term use of cholesterol-lowering statin drugs is associated with more than double the risk of both types of breast cancer: invasive ductal carcinoma and invasive lobular carcinoma. If you missed the "prequel" video you might be confused about the role cholesterol plays in breast cancer risk. Watch Cholesterol Feeds Breast Cancer Cells (http://nutritionfacts.org/video/cholesterol-feeds-breast-cancer-cells). Though as drugs go, statins are remarkably safe, they can present rare but serious side effects in both men and women: Statin Muscle Toxicity (http://nutritionfacts.org/video/statin-muscle-toxicity/). How can we lower cholesterol without drugs? It's Purely a Question of Diet (http://nutritionfacts.org/video/heart-attacks-and-cholesterol-purely-a-question-of-diet/). We can lower our cholesterol by lowering our intake of three things: Trans Fat, Saturated Fat, and Cholesterol: Tolerable Upper Intake of Zero (http://nutritionfacts.org/video/trans-fat-saturated-fat-and-cholesterol-tolerable-upper-intake-of-zero/). Where are trans fats found? Trans Fat In Meat And Dairy (http://nutritionfacts.org/video/trans-fat-in-meat-and-dairy/). Where is cholesterol found? Predominantly eggs: Eggs and Cholesterol: Patently False and Misleading Claims (http://nutritionfacts.org/video/eggs-and-cholesterol-patently-false-and-misleading-claims/). ↓ 5 Important & Clinically Proven Reasons You Should NOT Take Statin Drugs

06:33
How my parents lowered their cholesterol by 30 pts in 30 days - no diets or drugs. An all natural alternative to statin drugs. ►►►http://drsam.co/yt/NoMoreStatin =============================== 5 Important & Clinically Proven Reasons You Should NOT Take Statin Drugs =============================== Statins are HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors. They work by blocking the enzyme (HMG-CoA reductase) in your liver, that is responsible for making cholesterol. Now, this is very important topic to me personally, because over 15+ years ago my parent’s were prescribed these toxic drugs and they had a ton of negative side-effects. Unfortunately back then, we didn’t have all the data we have now. The pharmaceutical companies did a great job of hiding them. Today I’m going to reveal the top 5, clinically proven reasons, why you should NOT take statin drugs and one of my favorite, natural alternatives that my own parents use. Reason #1 - They DON’T Work! Statin drugs DO lower your cholesterol levels, but don’t think they lower your risk of heart disease, heart attacks or strokes. Based on the statistics of “Relative Risk Reduction (RRR)”, statins reduce the risk for only 1% of the population - that’s it!8 Reason #2 - Increase Your Risk Major Disease, Including Cancer! Statins increase your risk for diabetes. And what’s interesting is that over 50% of people who have heart disease, have elevated glucose and blood sugar levels. So the irony is that the statin drugs will indirectly INCREASE your risk of heart disease by increasing your blood sugar levels. Statins also cause neurodegenerative diseases, such as memory loss, Alzheimer’s, Huntington’s and Parkinson’s. Statins also cause musculoskeletal disorders, leading to muscle pain and weakness (myalgia), muscle cramps and other muscular problems. Statins also cause cataracts, which is a clouding of your eye lens and is a main cause of low vision among the elderly. Finally, statin drugs are known to cause cancer. Reason #3 - Deplete Important Nutrients Statin drugs deplete two very important nutrients in your body. The first is Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10). CoQ10 is used for energy production by every cell in your body, and is therefore vital for good health, high energy levels, longevity, and general quality of life. What’s important to know is that your heart is the most energy-demanding organ in your body. By depleting CoQ10, your heart slowly becomes weaker and ages faster. In addition to CoQ10, statin drug also reduce Vitamin K2. This is important for you to know because Vitamin K2 protects your arteries from calcification. Without it, plaque levels worsen. Reason #4 - Liver Problems & Toxicity Of all the negative side-effects associated with statin drugs, the most common was “drug induced liver injury”… This accounts for a whopping 57% of all statin related “adverse drug reactions”, which included potentially severe and some cases, deadly consequences such as: Death from acute liver failure Liver transplantation Jaundice Liver problems are so bad with statin drugs that each year there are millions of people diagnosed “moderate to serious liver dysfunction”! Remember, your liver detoxifies and cleanses your entire body. Poor liver function greatly accelerates aging! Reason #5 - Natural Alternatives Exist You don’t need to take statin drugs because natural alternatives already exist. Nature already has the answers, NOT the pharmaceutical companies. I’m sure you already know this…. Drugs can be used SHORT-TERM, to quickly improve a health problem … TEMPORARILY. But positive, long-term benefits can only be seen and felt using natural means. This way, you have a proven, simple and convenient solution for your high cholesterol, while being so much safer than statin drugs. Hypolipidemic Agents

09:06
This is a brief overview of hypolipidemic agents, or drugs that alter the levels of lipids in the body. I created this presentation with Google Slides. Image were created or taken from Wikimedia Commons I created this video with the YouTube Video Editor. ADDITIONAL TAGS Hypolipidemic Agents Statins Bile Acid Sequestrants Niacin Fibrates Statins Inhibit the enzyme HMG-CoA reductase, which is the rate limiting step in cholesterol synthesis Decrease LDL, increase HDL, decrease TGs Proven to reduce risk of coronary artery disease Side effects: Liver toxicity (most metabolized by cytochrome P450), muscle toxicity (rhabdomyolysis) Contraindications: liver disease, CYP450 inhibitor drugs, pregnancy (birth defects) Lovastatin, Pravastatin, Simvastatin, Atorvastatin, Rosuvastatin Statins Bile Acid Sequestrants Niacin Fibrates Bile Acid Sequestrants Binds bile acid in the gut and prevents reuptake, thus promoting excretion of bile acid Cholesterol is typically converted to bile acid and secreted into the GI tract; 99% of this bile acid is then reabsorbed into the body Loss of 1% of bile acid is typically the only method of removing cholesterol from the body Bile acid sequestrants allow for more than 1% of bile acid to excreted from the body, forcing body to produce more bile acid from cholesterol Decrease LDL, increase HDL, no effect on TGs Side effects: GI distress (nausea, constipation, bloating → since it’s inhibiting fat absorption, resolved with fiber intake) Malabsorption of other drugs and fat-soluble vitamins (DEAK) Avoid use in people with familial dysbetalipoproteinemia with very high TG Colestipol (Colestid), Colesevelam (Welchol), Cholestyramine (Questran) Statins Bile Acid Sequestrants Niacin Fibrates Niacin Prevents release of free fatty acid into the bloodstream from adipocytes Increases HDL by decreasing hepatic excretion of a major protein in HDL (apoA-I) Increase HDL, decreases LDL, decreases TGs Side effects: skin flushing (resolved with aspirin), hyperuremia, hyperglycemia, GI distress (n/v and peptic ulcers), and hepatotoxicity Contraindications: patients with gout and liver disease (monitor liver enzymes) Niacin (Niaspan, Niacor) is also known as nicotinic acid or vitamin B3 Niacin has a number of other functions, and lack of niacin causes pellagra, degenerative disease causing skin lesions (shown) and mental disturbance Statins Bile Acid Sequestrants Niacin Fibrates Fibrates Activate a transcription factor (peroxisome proliferator-activated receptors (PPARs)) that increases lipoprotein lipase, which converts VLDL to LDL and therefore reduces VLDL and triglyceride levels PPARs are regulators that transport from cytoplasm to nucleus to bind regulatory regions of target genes Decrease TGs, decrease LDL, increase HDL Side effects: GI distress, skin rash, muscle toxicity (also worsened by statins, too), hypokalemia, arrhythmias Avoid use in patients with liver and renal disease Gemfibrozil Fenofibrate Statins Bile Acid Sequestrants Niacin Fibrates

Statin Nation (trailer)

01:41
Full movie: https://www.dietdoctor.com/watch-the-movie-that-exposes-the-cholesterol-cover-up Is high cholesterol the main cause of heart disease? Are cholesterol-lowering drugs miracle drugs, nearly free of side-effects, that the majority of the adult population needs to take every day? This movie exposes the exaggerations and the grossly misleading marketing of daily medications to people who don’t need them. That is, most people who take cholesterol-lowering drugs without having heart disease. That’s when the risk of bad side effects (that are silenced) usually outweighs the benefit. There’s another problem: total focus on cholesterol is profitable for the pharmaceutical industry, but it sucks energy from all other effective lifestyle changes to prevent heart disease. Real health is not to be found in a bottle of pills. The movie Statin Nation does a good job of providing information about the cholesterol cover-up. How To Lower Cholesterol Without Medication

Lower Your Cholesterol Without Medication: http://infousa1.com/lower-cholesterol-without-medication Visit The Webpage Now. This video provides info to answer the question How To Lower Cholesterol Without Medication? Choose The Link Options To Visit That Website Now. What is cholesterol? A very simple explanation is that cholesterol is a waxy, fat like, substance. It is predominately found within the bodies of humans and many animals. It is in our bloodstream and throughout our body's cells. We need cholesterol to help our brain, skin, and other organs grow and work the way they should. The liver makes cholesterol for the body. Plus, people also add excess cholesterol into their bodies through the foods that they choose to eat. Low-Density Lipoprotein (LDL) is considered the “bad” cholesterol because too much of it can turn into a thick, hard deposit called plague. It can clog arteries which can lead to many health problems including a heart attack or stroke. High-Density Lipoprotein (HDL) is considered “good” cholesterol because it actually helps to remove the LDL cholesterol. So the real objective is not just simply lowering cholesterol. It is to maintain a good level of HDL. While reducing the presence of the LDL in you blood system. And, just like many things with our health, diet plays a very important role. There are foods that can help you do this naturally without drugs. Here are 5 that you will see over and over again. Oatmeal: Switching up your breakfast to regularly having a bowl of plain oatmeal can lower LDL cholesterol. Whole oats have a substance that absorbs the LDL. Your body then excretes it. Blueberries: There has been research that suggests blueberries may actually turn down the liver's production of cholesterol in your body Salmon, Tuna Mackerel, Trout: Omega-3 has numerous health benefits to the brain, heart, joints, and more. But on the topic of cholesterol Omega-3 has been shown to significantly increase the HDL while simultaneously lowering LDL. Walnuts, Almonds, Pistachios: Walnuts are high in a type of acid that has been shown to reduce LDL plague build up. A study showed pistachios lowers total and LDL cholesterol and can reduce the risk of diabetes-related disease in the arteries. Another study showed the more almond that were eaten the lower LDL dropped. Black Beans: Beans are also considered a Super Food. And there are many other health beneficial beans. But black beans have the richest source of soluble fiber which is a proven LDL cholesterol lowering agent. Exercise: Yes... there's just no escaping it. When it comes to health, you have to move your body. Exercise has been proven to lower cholesterol. Do Statins Cause Side Effects? 4 Natural Ways to Lower Cholesterol Instead

06:18
How to lower your cholesterol so you can avoid needing statins. Many people complain of side effects from statins, despite claims they are safe. In this video I reveal the reason why statins may cause side effects and how to prevent them. Millions of people take statins daily to lower our cholesterol and to avoid the danger of a stroke or fatal heart attack. Their effectiveness at lowering cholesterol is proven. But many people believe they may cause unpleasant side effects. This includes muscle pain, weakness, fatigue, memory loss, low sex drive, depression and a higher risk of infections. However, according to a controversial study published on The Lancet website, these side effects are in people’s heads. While other research has suggested that the side effects may be an unintended consequence of how statins work. According to Dr. John Briffa, a practicing doctor, author and international speaker, “while statins may ‘save lives’ in the relative short-term by reducing the risk of, say, heart attacks, they may possibly cause some people to perish in the long term.” You should NEVER stop taking statins without consulting your doctor first. They may, in fact, be protecting you from a heart attack or stroke. But by following these steps may help to lower your cholesterol and potentially help you avoid needing statins at all: 1. Eliminate trans fats from your diet. Trans fats are found in fried foods and many everyday snacks, like cookies. They can be lethal at increasing bad LDL cholesterol and destroying good HDL cholesterol.(6) 2. Get 30 minutes of moderate exercise daily. This will help raise good HDL cholesterol and to help you get rid of dangerous belly fat. To help you stay motivated, why not join a walking or cycling group in your area to make your exercise more sociable and fun, as well as healthy. 3. Give up smoking If you can quit, within one year your risk of heart disease may be half that of a smoker. And within 15 years, your risk of heart disease may be like that of someone who never smoked. 4. Drink alcohol in moderation. We already know that regular heavy drinking can cause high blood pressure, heart failure and strokes. And recent studies suggest it may cause memory loss and dementia too.(8) Even if you don’t suffer from side effects, you need to know that statins have been found to block the production of THREE key nutrients in the gut, along with cholesterol. These are nutrients that feed our body and brain’s with energy, neutralize free radicals, improve heart health and repair cell damage. So when you deplete these nutrients in your body, it may have all sorts of unintended consequences. Thankfully, there is a way of naturally boosting the nutrients that are depleted by statins, to help avoid the risk of side effects and future health problems. On the Erudite Lifestyle website, we have an article that explains what these nutrients are, what they do in your body and a drug-free way of replenishing them safely, which can also lower your cholesterol. So if you are currently taking statins and have noticed any muscle pain, a lack of energy, poor memory, low sex drive or depression, then I recommend checking out our article to find out the possible reason why: http://eruditelifestyle.co.uk/real-reason-statins-may-cause-side-effects-help-avoid References 1. http://www.webmd.com/cholesterol-management/side-effects-of-statin-drugs 2. https://www.theguardian.com/society/2017/may/02/statin-side-effects-down-to-negative-expectations-not-the-drugs-nocebo 3.http://www.drbriffa.com/2013/05/30/statins-deplete-the-body-of-a-nutrient-that-is-vital-for-heart-function/ 4. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2017/03/18/south-american-tribe-found-have-healthiest-hearts-ever-studied/ 5. http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2011/07/22/one-in-four-americans-over-45-take-this-common-drug-that-causes-diabetes.aspx 6. http://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/high-blood-cholesterol/in-depth/trans-fat/art-20046114 7. http://www.who.int/tobacco/quitting/benefits/en/ 8. https://www.alzheimers.org.uk/info/20007/types_of_dementia/14/alcohol-related_brain_damage_including_korsakoffs_syndrome 9. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2017/03/18/south-american-tribe-found-have-healthiest-hearts-ever-studied/ 10. http://eruditelifestyle.co.uk/real-reason-statins-may-cause-side-effects-help-avoid Disclaimer - Supplements are not magic pills. How my parents lowered their cholesterol by 30 pts in 30 days - no diets or drugs: 👉 http://drsam.co/yt/Normal-Cholesterol Or you can see the most powerful fruit for lowering cholesterol: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TYFY4Vl19Fo ======================================= 🥛 NEVER Eat These 5 Foods If You Want To Lower High Cholesterol ======================================= Heart disease is the #1 killer in the world and has been for decades. Many people think that high cholesterol is the cause - but it’s not. It’s just ONE of many factors. Sadly, doctors immediately try to prescribe you cholesterol lowering statin drugs when there’s no need. High AND low cholesterol are both bad for your health. Cholesterol is needed for hormone production and every single cell in your body needs cholesterol - including brain cells. Unfortunately, many people eat what they think are “healthy foods”, but are actually not good for them and are causing high cholesterol levels. So today I’m going to reveal 5 foods you should avoid, especially if you want to have HEALTHY cholesterol levels: 1 - Baked Foods/Carbs Stay away from baked foods like muffins, cakes, breads, donuts, croissants, rolls, cookies, danishes, scones, pie, etc… As well as “packaged” foods such as chips, pretzels, crackers and similar items These are all bad because they contain hydrogenated and saturated fats, as well as dairy. Not to mention, they’re high in simple carbohydrates and sugars. The combination of fats and sugars in these foods increases cholesterol and plaque buildup even more, in addition to higher triglycerides, inflammation, high blood sugar and blood pressure. ALL of these combined is what causes heart disease. 2 - DAIRY I’m a firm believe that regardless of anything you read, you should stay away from dairy or at least limit it. This is because milk is for babies and cow milk is for baby cows. We are the only animals who continue to consume milk products after the initial “baby” stage. It’s NOT natural. Besides, 99% of dairy products are pasteurized, which kills any benefits milk could have. Not to mention, the toxins, hormones and drugs these animals are given are highly concentrated in the milk - which goes inside of YOU! These toxins stress your liver and cause an increase in cholesterol. Remember, 80% of your cholesterol is made IN YOUR LIVER. 3 - Animal Protein The saturated fats and “marble fat” found in meat, pork, poultry and shellfish is horrible for your health and cholesterol levels. I’ve noticed even grass-fed meat and free-range poultry can still cause high cholesterol in some of my patients, especially the “sensitive” ones. Limit your intake and focus more on vegetable proteins and fish - especially wild-caught salmon. http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/food-and-nutrition/NU00202 4 - Fast Foods It doesn’t matter if it’s a burger, tacos, french fries, pizza or anything else - they’re all high in carbohydrates, hydrogenated, saturated and omega 6 fats, using unhealthy and toxic proteins. It may be easy and good for your wallet because they’re cheap foods -- but it’s bad for your health and cholesterol levels and you’ll pay a higher price later in life. http://www.heart.org/HEARTORG/Conditions/Cholesterol/PreventionTreatmentofHighCholesterol/Cooking-for-Lower-Cholesterol_UCM_305630_Article.jsp#.WCd_XySlGFU 5 - Eggs Eggs can be good or bad. All the cholesterol and fat is located in the egg YOLK, which is why most “experts” say you should only consume egg whites. However, most of the nutrients, antioxidants and half the essential amino acids (protein) are also found in the yolk. The problem is when you COOK the yolk - such as hard-boiled, scrambled and fried eggs. The heat oxidizes the egg and damages the structure of the fat. However, the egg yolk can actually increase your “good” HDL cholesterol and this is done when you eat the yolk that’s still soft and runny. Raw eggs are great or soft boiled. Make sure it’s organic, pastured, free-range eggs. ======================================== Thank you for watching. Please feel free to comment, like or share with your friends. Statins Side Effects - Reverse Risks of Memory Loss with CoQ10!

02:35
http://www.nutrusta.co/ubiquinolultra Statin medication, widely prescribed for lowering cholesterol triggers sinister side effects - diabetes, liver, kidney damage, memory loss. The solution: take a high absorption CoQ10 supplement to alleviate statin health risks. Buy online👇👇👇 https://www.nutrusta.com/products/ubiquinol-coq10 https://www.amazon.com/Ubiquinol-CoQ10-VESIsorb-Kaneka-100mg/dp/B00KB2XSG0/ Are you taking statins? Statin medications are one of the most commonly prescribed drugs. Used to lower high cholesterol levels, they can literally save your life. You may know statins by these names: Lipitor, Crestor, Zocor Statins work by inhibiting LDL production in the liver and promoting the removal of LDL cholesterol from the bloodstream. This prevents and helps reduce plaque buildup in your blood vessels. If you or someone you know takes a statin, then you’re probably well aware of the side effects associated with this medication. Nausea, diarrhea, joint and muscle pains are some of the more common complaints. Statin medications also increase the risk of hyperglycemia and type 2 diabetes across the board. In more severe cases, the medication can cause liver or kidney damage. In rare instances, statins can cause a life threatening condition called rhabdomyolysis. This is where your muscle cells collapse and release poison into the bloodstream. So, is there anything you can do to alleviate these side effects? Turns out, you can, and the solution is fairly simple: Coenzyme Q10 supplementation. Coenzyme Q10, or CoQ10 for short, is a naturally occurring enzyme found in every cell of your body. It helps keep your heart healthy, boosts mental clarity, and provides protection against free radicals, among other things. Low CoQ10 levels are also associated with memory loss and Alzheimer’s disease. CoQ10 levels naturally decrease as we age, contributing to the aches and pains we associate with growing older. However, Coq10 is insoluble in water, has limited solubility in lipids, and is a pretty large molecule. Because of its molecular structure, CoQ10 has notoriously poor absorption. When ingested as a supplement, as much as 60% of the dose will just bounce off the intestinal walls and end up in the toilet. THE NUTRUSTA SOLUTION Nutrusta Ubiquinol Ultra is a water-soluble formulation that combines the active, "body-ready" form of CoQ10 and the novel VESIsorb® micelle-based delivery system. VESIsorb® is proven to ensure 6 times better absorption and 3-fold increase in bioavailability for maximum and sustained therapeutic levels of CoQ10 that help reduce the side effects of statins. Weighing the Benefits of Statins

http://www.dailyrx.com/statin-risks-elderly-patients-without-heart-disease-could-outweigh-benefits Cholesterol medication can be lifesaving for older patients, but that doesn't mean taking it is risk-free. A new study found that while statins may prevent heart attacks and other heart disease deaths, they can also result in adverse effects for elderly patients. The authors of this study used data from past research to estimate the effects of prescribing statins to all people aged 75 or older who don’t have heart disease.

Red Yeast Rice - Better than Statins? - FORD BREWER MD MPH

FORD BREWER MD MPH PrevMedHeartRisk.com To prevent disability, heart attack, stroke, dementia - visit my Youtube Channel at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCmoEsq6a6ePXxgZeA4CVrUw?view_as=subscriber Or the PrevMed web site at https://prevmedheartrisk.com/ Red Yeast Rice has been used for centuries in Chinese medicine. It has been shown to decrease cholesterol. It includes HMG CoA reductase materials. In fact, statins were originally developed from Monacolins, the fungus used to make Red Yeast Rice. The FDA declared Monacolin products as a drug and tried to stop sale of supplements containing it. This decision went to court and was overturned by the US Court of Appeals. They actually typically contain 10-20 mg of monacolins. Mevachor, made by Merck from Red Yeast Rice, contains 20-80 mg of monacolins. So you're taking the same thing, but usually at a lower dose. Side effects are the same: liver function problems, muscle breakdown ( sometimes at a lethal level known as rhabdomyolisis.) I prefer to use better statins at far lower doses. And I don't appreciate the patent formula product salesmen all of the web saying, "my product, XXX, is safer, more effective, and contains the exact right combination..... blah, blah, blah" About Dr. Brewer - Dr. Brewer started as an Emergency Doctor. After seeing too many patients coming in dead from early heart attacks, he went to Johns Hopkins to learn Preventive Medicine. He went on to run the post-graduate training program (residency) in Preventive Medicine at Hopkins. From there, he made a career of practicing and managing preventive medicine and primary care clinics. His later role in this area was Chief Medical Officer for Premise, which has over 500 primary care/ prevention clinics. He was also the Chief Medical Officer for MDLIVE, the second largest telemedicine company. More recently, he founded PrevMed, a heart attack, stroke, and diabetes prevention clinic. At PrevMed, we focus on heart attack, stroke, disability, cancer and Alzheimer's prevention. We find a lot of undiagnosed Type 2 diabetes. Treating unrecognized risk factors like diabetes allows reduction of risk. We provide state-of-the-art genetic testing, imaging, labs and telemedicine options. We serve patients who have already experienced an event as well as those have not developed a diagnosis or event. Today I discuss the six underlying causes of high cholesterol and how addressing those issues can often alleviate the need to take statins. Ph.D. Nutritionists Stephen Sinatra and Jonny Bowden Talk about Myths of Medicine and Cholesterol

Many myths surround what causes heart disease/heart-attacks, and here to break through some of them are Dr.'s Jonny Bowden and Stephen Sinatra. In this frank discussion about their book, "The Great Cholesterol Myth: Why Lowering Your Cholesterol Won't Prevent Heart Disease-and the Statin-Free Plan That Will," you will learn how many of the cholesterol lowering drugs do more harm and have not been proven to lower harmful cholesterol at all. This book combined with watching the presentation of Fat Head ([http://tinyurl.com/b2qnp9j] and other seminars by its author [http://www.fathead-movie.com/]) will fill in some blanks of missing or bad information in this debate.

Statin Side Effects

04:37
http://heartfitclinic.com for free webinar. Statin Side Effects Cardiovascular disease is the number one cause of death and number one cause of hospitalization in developed countries. Statin drugs are a common drug of choice in the prevention (lower cholesterol) and treatment of heart disease. The research is quite compelling showing the benefits of statin therapy. However does everyone need a statin? Let me start off by saying I am a big fan of statin therapy early on in the diagnosed heart disease process if patients can handle it. There should be a goal to eventually wane off this medication with a heart healthy lifestyle. The latest research on statin drug side effects shows that high potency statins are linked to acute kidney injury. What is high potency? 1. 10 mg or more of rosuvastatin (Crestor) 2. 20 mg or more of atorvastatin (Lipitor) 3. 40 mg or more of simvastatin (Zocor) Other side effects of statin drug therapy include: 1. Muscle pain and damage (Check out our great post on coenzyme q10 statins) 2. Liver damage. 3. Digestive problems. 4. Increased blood sugar or type 2 diabetes. 5. Neurological side effects such as memory loss, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS, Lou Gehrig's disease) Talks are they should be in the water that we drink but really you can do a lot with nutrition. I just read that there was a grocery store chain that was providing free statins (atorvastatin) to its customers. This was obviously a marketing promotion to get new customers. Pfizer branded Lipitor (atorvastatin) but their patent expired in 2011. So now the blockbuster drug is on the generic market. Pfizer has now just announced it will not market the drug anymore (all about making the shareholders happy). At the end of the day statins are a drug and they can come with side effects. The risks of taking a statin with statin side effects should be outweighed of the benefits. Because statins have side effect caution should be used when prescribing these drugs. Patients should understand the side effects of statin drugs. If you are diagnosed with high cholesterol and have been prescribed a statin then a good discussion has to be had with your prescribing doctor as to the reasons why? Doctors are given a handful of minutes at times with patients and try to mask the problem with a drug. Having high cholesterol does not mean you have to take statin therapy. As mentioned there are side effects and patients should be given a chance to reduce their numbers through lifestyle intervention. Good exercise program, stress management practices and nutrition program with possibly some supplements. Try this lifestyle therapy for 3 to 6 months and most people will see a big difference without having to go on statin therapy. In the event no change has been made then your healthcare team can decide the next step. It is important to understand that cholesterol is not the reason people end up with heart disease. It is inflammation. So the goal is to lower the inflammatory response. The reason statins do a great job is that it lowers LDL cholesterol and it also lower inflammatory response. You can always read my post on the truth about how to lower cholesterol. To your heart health success, Diamond Fernandes

Is Cholesterol Dangerous? Should You Take Statin Drugs?

06:17
Statins do decrease cholesterol, but they fail to decrease heart disease outcomes. Many scientists are finally admitting that statin drugs don't help us, yet there are still 25 million people on the darn drugs. Does that make any sense? Find out more in this video. 3 Ways to Lower Cholesterol: Better than Drugs

01:40
Half of all Americans need to lower cholesterol. Of these people, most should be on a “statin” drug to lower cholesterol according to the American Heart Association. This recommendation comes despite the fact that “statins,” may increase your risk of diabetes by 46%, may cause memory loss, may increase coronary artery calcification, and can damage your muscles. Cholesterol is just one of many risk factors for heart disease. Fortunately, there are better ways to lower cholesterol. In this article, I share the three best ways to lower cholesterol naturally. My Bad Cholesterol Gene I was not born with the low cholesterol gene. Even worse, I inherited one copy of the ApoE4 gene. Sadly, one in four Americans also have at least one copy of this ApoE4 gene as well. To read the entire article, visit: http://drjohnday.com/3-ways-lower-cholesterol-better-drugs/

Should I Take Statin Drugs For Elevated Cholesterol? Are There Side Effects?

03:09
http://www.naturalfoodsdiet.org/should-i-take-statin-drugs-for-elevated-cholesterol-are-there-side-effects/ Today I want to speak to the multitudes of people out there that have been put on statin drugs for elevated cholesterol. If you have been watching my videos, you know that the only groups that shown a clear mortality benefit in randomized clinical trials are men under 70 with documented coronary artery disease (had a heart attack) and for men that smoke that have an elevated CRP. But doctors in the USA put almost all patients with high cholesterol on these drugs, even though there is questionable mortality benefit. In the United Kingdom there is a proposal to put ALL men over 50 and women over 60 on statins. So what's the harm you ask? One harm is increased mortality that shows up in some studies; like cancer and suicides. There are also the common side effects of memory problems and muscle pain. Statins permanently damage heart muscle, Peter Langsjoen MD

01:34
Hi, this is Larry Hobbs @ FatNews.com. http://fatnews.com/ https://twitter.com/fatnews Statin-induced impairment in heart muscle function appears to be permanent “Statin-induced impairment in heart muscle function appears to be permanent, and even though patients may clinically benefit from discontinuation of the statin along with supplemental CoQ10, we believe that many years of statin drug therapy result in the gradual accumulation of mitochondrial DNA damage,” according to a 2015 review paper by Prof. Harumi Okuyama from Nagoya City University in Nagoya, Japan, Peter H. Langsjoen MD, a cardiologist from Texas, and others who reviewed more than 20 statin drug studies done after 2004. “A prolonged decrease in mitochondrial CoQ10 would diminish the ability to protect mitochondrial DNA from free radical damage.” Prof. Harumi Okuyama: ‘I cannot find any evidence to support people taking statins and patients who are on them should stop’ “We have collected a wealth of information on cholesterol and statins from many published papers and find overwhelming evidence that these drugs accelerate hardening of the arteries and can cause, or worsen, heart failure. “I cannot find any evidence to support people taking statins and patients who are on them should stop,” Prof. Harumi Okuyama from Nagoya City University in Nagoya, Japan, lead author of the 2015 review paper of statin trials, was quoted as saying in the UK newspaper The Daily Express. Peter Langsjoen, MD: ‘These drugs [statins] should never have been approved for use.’ “These drugs [statins] should never have been approved for use. “The long-term effects are devastating,” Peter Langsjoen, MD, a cardiologist from Texas and coauthor of this 2015 review paper, was quoted as saying in the UK newspaper The Daily Express. Dr. Malcolm Kendrick: ‘The harms [of statins] clearly outweigh any previously suggested benefits’ “This study demolishes the argument that these drugs should be prescribed to anyone, as the harms clearly outweigh any previously suggested benefits,” Dr. Malcolm Kendrick, author of The Great Cholesterol Con who has studied cardiovascular disease and statins for many years, was quoted as saying in the UK newspaper The Daily Express. Statin studies show NO benefit! Prof. Harumi Okuyama & Peter Langsjoen MD

Hi, this is Larry Hobbs @ FatNews.com. http://fatnews.com/ https://twitter.com/fatnews Statins provide no beneficial effect on coronary heart disease in trials since 2004-2005 “After 2004–2005 [when new penalties were put in place regarding clinical trials in the EU], all clinical trials, performed by scientists relatively free of conflict of interest with pharmaceutical industries, reported… no significant beneficial effects were observed [with the use of statins] for the prevention of CHD [coronary heart disease],” according to a 2015 review paper by Prof. Harumi Okuyama from Nagoya City University in Nagoya, Japan, Peter H. Langsjoen MD, a cardiologist from Texas, and others who reviewed more than 20 statin drug studies done after 2004. “Currently, the majority of scientists continue to claim that statins are effective in preventing CHD [coronary heart disease], but these claims are based on meta-analyses of reports, including those published before the EU regulation (mostly in 1990s) [which are unreliable].” Prof. Statins: How do they really work? Inflammation

03:42
Most doctors prescribe statins to lower LDL (or "bad" cholesterol). However, that's probably not how statins prevent heart attacks and strokes. It's more likely due to an impact on cardiovascular inflammation. What is cardiovascular inflammation? Inflammation is similar whether it's causing arthritis, skin disease or inflammatory bowel disease: inflammation is the body's attempt to correct a problem. The immune system sends antibodies and immune cells. Immune cells release enzymes to "digest" tissue that should be there. In the artery wall, that tissue is plaque. Inflamed plaque is unstable. It can leak into the bloodstream and cause life-threatening clot formation. Ford Brewer is a physician that started as an Emergency Doctor. AFter seeing too many patients coming in dead from early heart attacks, he went to Johns Hopkins to learn Preventive Medicine. He went on the run the post-graduate training program (residency) in Preventive Medicine at Hopkins. From there, he made a career of practicing and managing preventive medicine and primary care clinics. His late role in this are was Chief Medical Officer for Premise, which has over 500 primary care/ prevention clinics. He was also the Chief Medical Officer for MDLIVE, the second largest telemedicine company. Now he's running a small start-up, Prevmed. We provide face-to-face heart attack and stroke prevention in our home location of Nashville, TN as well as several other locations. We also provide preventive medicine by telemedicine technology to over 30 states. fbrewer@prevmedheartrisk.com info@prevmedheartrisk.com prevmedheartrisk.com -~-~~-~~~-~~-~- Please watch: "A new test for heart attack/stroke risk; PULS - the test we've been seeking? unstable plaque test? Lowering Cholesterol Naturally with Safe Supplements

06:14
http://pixvid.me/LoweringCholesterolGuide To get your FREE guide titled, How to Lower Cholesterol: An evidence-based Diet and Lifestyle Guide, click on the preceding link. Watch as Dr. Meschino discusses two natural supplements that are extremely effective for lowering your cholesterol. It is important to note that not all natural supplements are safe to use and some, which are claimed to be effective, are not. The best two cholesterol lowering supplements are gum guggal and artichoke leaf extract. Gum guggal is a product that comes from the Indian Mukul Myrrh tree. It lowers cholesterol as it helps clear excess cholesterol from the blood by flushing it out as bile. When used properly, it can lower triglyceride levels and cholesterol by 25-35%, as well as statins. Artichoke leaf extract work much in the same way by clearing more cholesterol from the blood and converting it to bile and flushing it out of the body. A great way to make use of these two natural supplements is to combine them and more information can be found by clicking on the link above.
