The main reason that people tend to have fat arms is loss of collagen, which happens over a period of time as a person grows older. Out of all the hormones, the growth hormone tends to be the single most critical factor that is responsible for lose arm fat. In adults, the growth hormone controls factors such as fat burning, tightening muscles, protein synthesis, energy. The major causes for flabby arms is lower levels of growth hormone and high cortisol levels. In the second part of this video, Dr. Berg talks about how to get rid of flabby arms. To lose arm fat and avoid loose skin one must lower cortisol levels and raise the growth hormone. Lower cortisol levels can be achieved by low intensity exercises (walking), sleeping, avoid stress, potassium foods, avoid sugar. Higher growth hormone can be achieved by high intensity exercises, sleeping, proteins, avoid sugar. Loose skin normally stems from a loss of collagen, which occurs when the adrenal glands become stress. This is common during and after menopause, primarily because the adrenal glands act as a back up gland for the ovaries. The buffer for cortisol is GH (Growth Hormone) and as GH drops, there is nothing left to counter the bad effects of cortisol. LOWER CORTISOL 1. Low intensity exercise 2. Increase sleep 3. Support adrenal gland 4. Avoid stress 5. Increase potassium 6. Increase B vitamins 7. Avoid sugar RAISE GROWTH HORMONE 1. High intensity exercise 2. Increase sleep 3. Increase some protein (not more than 6 ounces per meal) 4. Intermittent fasting - only 3 meals per day - no snacks 5. Decrease Cortisol and insulin 6. You Must Need to Tone Your Muscles By Doing Resistance Exercises Can Perform at Home, & Some Exercise Requires 1-2 kg Hand Weights (Dumbbells) or Heavier Weight if You Can. 1. Triceps Dips You will Need a Stable Chair to Perform this Exercise. 1. Place Your Hands Based on Shoulder-Width Apart on Chair, While Your Butt Should be infront of the Chair. 2. Your Legs Then Should Bent on the floor About At Hip Width Your Back Close to the Chair. 3. Then, Straighten Your Arms Out & Must Always Keep Your Elbows Slightly Bent. 4. Now, Slowly Bend Your Elbows & Lower Your Body Towards the Floor Till Your Arms About 90 Degree Angle Till You Feel Tension in Triceps 5. Lastly, Press Your Arms & Push Yourself Back Up To First Position. 6. Repeat This 10-15 Times. 2. Push-Ups 1. Place Your Hands on The Floor Under Your Shoulders. 2. Then Keep Your Elbows Close to Your Side & Lower Your Body. 3. Lastly Return To Starting Position. 4. Repeat 10-15 times. Knee Push-Ups 1. Tricep Kickbacks This Exercise Requires 1-2 kg of Weights. 1. Hold Your Weights & Get On the Floor While With Knees & Toes Touching the Floor. 2. Bend Your Upper Body Forward from Hips up & Then Bend Your Elbows at 90 Degree Angle. 3. Then Extend both Your Arms Backwards while your palms facing each other. 4. Tricep Extensions You Perform this Exercise Either by Standing or Lying on Floor & Will Required 1-2 kg of Weights. 1. Raise Your Arms Above Your Chest If You Lie on the Floor 2. Then Keep Your Elbows Slightly Bent & Not Locked 3. Now Bend Your Elbows at 90 degree So that the Weights Can Reach Floor 4. Elbows Should Be on Side of Your Head 5. Lift the Weight Back to Starting Position 6. Repeat this For 15 Times If you stand on the floor, You Should Stand With Knees Soft & Don’t Locked. 1. Straighten Your Arms While Your Elbows Close Next To Your Ears 2. Now Bend Your Elbows at 90 Degrees 3. Then Squeeze Your Triceps to Straighten Your Arms 4. Repeat this For 15 times. 5. Bent-Over Row 1. Place your Feet Follow by Shoulder-Width Apart 2. Bend Your Knees & Upper Body Forward From the Hips Up. 3. Keep your Spine Neutral & Don’t Bend Your Lower Back. 4. Your Hands Should be Straight Under Your Shoulders 5. Then, Bend Elbows Backward While Lifting Your Arms Towards Side of Your Chest 6. Slowly Lower Weights in Control Movement & Feel Tension at your Triceps. 7. Repeat This For 15 times. 6. One Arm Push-ups 1. Lie On Your Left Side With Your Knees Slightly Bent 2. Put Your Left Arm on Your Right Shoulder 3. Now, Press Your Right Palm into the Floor Till it is Straight To Lift Your Upper Body 4. Repeat This 10 Times & Then Change sides. Let’s get into it: Reason #1. You May Be Losing Inches and Not Pounds Right Now We expect scale weight loss to be perfectly linear and a steady progression all the way to our goals. Like we are happily skiing down a mountain all the way down to our perfect weight. Weight loss is not like that… Scale weight loss often looks more like Driving an ATV through Jurassic park. Lots of peaks, valleys, and a little bit of craziness around every turn… This is exactly why you need to weight AND measure yourself. Gaining muscle can also throw off the scale as it’s heavier than fat mass, but steady inches lost, especially in the abdominal area, is one the most reliable indicators of weight loss progress. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/10951540 The most important measurement you can track is your stomach, but also tracking progress on the arms, thighs, hips and butt is a great idea. Reason #2. The best proven ways to minimize cortisol levels is sleep more, meditate, and go on a daily 30-minute walks. Reason #6. Your Hormones Need a Break Have you been dieting for what seems like, forever?? Being in a calorie deficit technically means that you’re starving yourself. This process of losing weight can cause hormones like leptin and testosterone to drop. The prolonged drop on these hormones can make weight loss more difficult. The solution is to go on a diet break. Eat a little more food (yes even some bad things), get some more sleep, and take a break from the dieting obsessively for 3-7 days. Throw away the scale and just focus on how you feel. This will help these hormones normalize and should help things get back on track when you start dieting again. Reason #7. Deficiencies and System Malfunctions If you feel like you’ve truly done everything we just talked about and you’re still not losing any weight, it’s time to go get some blood work done. Think about getting blood work as taking a look under your cars hood. Oh before we get started make sure you hit the subscribe button to help my channel grow:) LaTosha is back to assist me with 4 different workouts to help you slim down your back. So That being said we are going to need a few items, A couple dumbbells, a barbell a kettle bell, maybe a mat and lastly a sturdy bench. (sound effects) How to: Barbell Row: -Start off holding a barbell with your feet shoulder width apart -With an underhand grip (palms forward) slightly bend your knees. -Bringing your chest down, keep your back straight until you are almost parallel to the ground -Keeping your head in a neutral position bring the bar to upper part of your chest and back down for a repetition Cross Dumbbell Snatch -Stand with feet a little more than hip width apart -Bending down towards opposite end leg, maintaining a strong back, bring dumbbell to floor -Extending your knees and hips, pull dumbbell to an upward position -Repeat this step for desired repetitions -If this is new to you, use light weight until you get stronger with this exercise Single Arm Dumbbell Row Using a flat bench, put your one hand and knee on the opposite ends of the bench. -Move your body until your torso is parallel to the bench -Keeping your shoulders squared, hold one dumbbell in your non stabilzing arm. -Squeezing your lats bring that arm up until it is parallel with your torso -Go back down and repeat for desired repetition Kettle bell Deadlift -Start off with feet shoulder width apart -With the kettle bell in hand lower your chest while maintaining an arched back -Simultaneously bend your knees to where they are not locked in place -Once your chest is parallel to the ground come back up to the start position and repeat Equipment Needed: -Kettle bell -Dumbbells -Matt -Bench -Barbell Workout: Use moderate weight Sets: 4 Reps: 20 Rest: 45 seconds Barbell Row Dumbbell Snatch Single Arm Dumbbell Row Kettle Bell Deadlift Now if you look in the description box there is a back workout ready for you to take to they gym! Why am I losing weight in my arms and legs but nowhere else?

You had a question about what could be going on if someone is losing weight everywhere but their stomach. And the first thing that I thought of is just that everyone's body stores fat differently. There are some people who just store it in their abdomen and not really anywhere else. There's other people who store it - you know, they've got some "junk in the trunk", but not other places, or they just have it evenly distributed across their limbs, their hips, their stomach. So this is largely due to genes. There's nothing you can do to change this if this is what's causing it. But of course there are other things to think about. Pregnancy is one. If you're stomach is getting bigger and the rest of you is not, that's a possibility. So if this might be the case in your situation, I recommend taking a home pregnancy test. There are medical conditions that cause a person's stomach to grow. They're not very common, but of course they do happen, and they're usually linked to certain underlying medical conditions. So if you're concerned, I recommend talking with your family practice doctor. That's a good place to start. They'll ask you more specific questions about your health history and about your concerns, perform a physical exam, and then decide if further investigation or treatment is necessary. Based on what they think is causing it, they'll be able to give you further advice.
