Causes of ed - Are The Meds You Take Harming Your Erections

05:31
Get it in: http://bit.ly/2sR8D41 Are The Meds You Take Harming Your Erections? There are a stunning variety of things that can cause or worsen erectile dysfunction (ED). Some are psychological. Others still though, are medicines your doctor may have prescribed to you in order to treat other health conditions you may have. . Read on, and if you see anything on this list that you’re currently taking, consult your doctor to see if there might be an alternative that might accomplish the same goal, but without the ED-related side-effects. Blood Pressure Medications This is the big one. If you have high blood pressure, which is quite common among people with CAD (Coronary Artery Disease), then you’re almost certainly on some kind of blood pressure medication. The problem with these medications is that they work perhaps a bit too well. As your blood pressure drops, it becomes correspondingly more difficult to get and maintain an erection. Antidepressants There are more than a dozen antidepressants that can cause or worsen erectile dysfunction. This can be a tricky issue to resolve, because depression itself can cause the condition, and the drugs they give you for it can make it worse. Talk to your doctor. There may be an alternative you can try, but the best bet would be to find a way to treat your depression that doesn’t call for a prescription. Of course, this is not always possible. In any case, don’t just stop taking your medication. Always seek the advice of a medical professional. Antihistamines Allergies are no fun. They can make life pure misery. Of course, an inability to have sex can also make your life pretty miserable, so again, this one is something of a two-edged sword. Fortunately, there are lots of pretty effective ways to mitigate, or even eliminate allergy symptoms, so this may be something you can cure naturally and slowly wean yourself off of your allergy medicine. Honey, from a local source near where you live, for instance, is a great way boost allergy immunity. Note that honey does carry some health risks for young children, so again, this is not a decision you want to make on your own and without a consultation from your doctor. Non-Steroidal, Anti-Inflammatory Drugs Pain killers like Naproxen and Indocin can often make ED worse. These drugs will seldom actually cause the condition, but if you’ve already got it, you’ll notice a big difference when taking them. Note that muscle relaxants like Flexeril and Norflex are also big contributors, but in these cases, they can actually cause erectile dysfunction in some men. Antiarrythmics If you take a drug called Disopyramide (also known as Norpace), it could make your ED worse, and can, in some cases, cause it. Histamine H2 Receptor Antagonists These are medicines like Tagamet, Axid, and Zantac. If you take any of these for stomach or digestive issues, they could worsen your ED. These medications will seldom actually cause the condition, however. Medications For the Treatment of Parkinson’s Disease Almost all of the major medications currently in use to treat Parkinson’s Disease, including Biperiden, Benztropine, Trihexyphenidyl, Procyclidine, Bromocriptine, Levodopa, and their generic equivalents can frequently cause erectile dysfunction. There are few alternatives here, so in these cases, you may be forced to take ED medications to help offset the effects of these drugs on your sexual performance but again, always check with your doctor before making any decisions about that. The pace of advancement in the medical industry is blinding, and there may be some new or emerging treatment options available. Prostate Cancer Medications If you take Flutamide, Eulexin, Leuprolide, or Lupron, you’re probably going to notice problems with your sexual performance. If you had ED before taking these, it will almost certainly worsen the condition. Note that this is also true of chemotherapy drugs like Busulfan, Myleran, Cyclophosphamide, and Cytoxan. These drugs are absolutely critical to your health, however, so it’s unlikely that you’ll have many options here, save for seeing if your doctor can recommend an ED medication in addition to these. As you can see, the sad reality is that there are numerous drugs for serious medical conditions that either contribute to the worsening of ED, or that can cause it outright. Herbal medicine | 12 things you need to know about Male Erectile. Dysfunction Erectile dysfunction | http://drtomobrien.ie/12-things-you-need-to-know-about-male-erectile-dysfunction-erectile-dysfunction/ Dr Tom O Brien PHD in Adult and Community Education and Master Herbalist, is based in Rialto, Dublin 8. In this video he talks about Erectile Dysfunction. In part two he will talk about the herbs he recommends for this condition. Erectile dysfunction is a common condition that affects many men. The technical definition for Erectile dysfunction is the inability to achieve or maintain an erection. An erection is a complex process that involves changes in the muscles, nerves and blood vessels in the penis. However, put simply, Erectile dysfunction happens because not enough blood can get into or stay in the penis long enough to maintain an erection. More than 50% of men over 40 will experience some degree of Erectile dysfunction at some stage in their lives. Erectile dysfunction does not occur in isolation and is usually the result of other physical and psychological factors So the root cause of Erectile dysfunction is usually not in the penis. Erectile dysfunction is usually part of a bigger story in our lives connected to being unhappy in other areas of life and work, being unmotivated or depressed, angry or disappointed with life or unhappy in a relationship Physical symptoms that can affect the development of Erectile dysfunction include; low blood sugar, diabetes, poor circulation, cardiovascular disease, low immune system strength and low adrenal force. There is an increasing body of evidence that smoking significantly increases the risk of erectile dysfunction. It has been found that almost two-thirds of impotent men smoke and that they smoke nearly twice as much as the smoking rate of the general male population. Alcohol works as a depressant that dulls impulses of the central nervous system including those that stimulate the penis. Chronic heavy drinking impairs the male body’s supply of testosterone and increases the amount of oestrogen. Frequent use of cannabis has been shown to decrease the levels of androgens a man can produce (Androgens are the main hormones in both men and women that determine the level of ones sex drive. Low androgens in men diminish interest in sex as well as adversely affect erection. Erectile dysfunction is also an unfortunate side effects of many drugs. High blood pressure medications can also affect our libido. The anti ulcer drug Tagamet also causes impotence in many male users. Consult with your pharmacist or doctor regarding substituting alternate medication without these effects. Diabetes is said to be the cause of nearly half of all male impotence, due to the stress of high blood sugar, which damages arteries and reduces circulation. So if you have Erectile dysfunction you should consider the following; Stop smoking if you smoke Talk to your pharmacist or doctor about the drugs your prescribed Limit your alcohol consumption Exercise and keep fit so as to your heart and arteries in good condition Eat a diet high in fruits, vegetables and whole grains. Deal with anxiety, depression and stress - through psychotherapy, meditation or yoga Talk to your partner or a friend about how you feel and remember your body’s central control organ of sexual response is the brain. We need to be first aroused by life itself, joy, happiness, imagination, creativity. Physical stimulation follows. In part two of this series on Erectile dysfunction I will cover powerful plant medicines that can be used to help increase your sexual energy and overall health. *** Say Hi *** Linkedin: https://www.linkedin.com/in/drtomobrien Instagram: https://instagram.com/drtomobrien/ Pinterest: https://www.pinterest.com/drtomobrien/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/Herbalrebel Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/drtomobrien Tumblr: http://drtomobrien.tumblr.com MY BLOG: www.drtomobrien.ie Email me: empoweringmedicine@gmail.com

Check Yourself - 5 Common Causes of Impotence - 5 Common Causes of Impotence What Is Impotence? Impotence is a condition that consistently affects a person’s ability to achieve or maintain an erection, or ability to achieve ejaculation. It’s a form of erectile dysfunction (ED). There can be several contributing factors for impotence. These include both emotional and physical disorders. According to The Merck Manual, an estimated 50 percent of men ages 40 to 70 experience some ED at one time or another. The risk of impotence increases with age. It’s also been noted that men with more education are less likely to experience impotence, probably because they have healthier lifestyles on average. Impotence often has a negative affect on sex life, and can cause additional stress, depression, and low self-esteem. Understanding the most common potential causes can help a person identify why they may be experiencing the condition. before we start discuss it, please subscribe my channel by clicking subscribe button.. and don't forget to click the bell, so you will be get notification when we update. here we go 1.Endocrine Diseases. The body’s endocrine system produces hormones that regulate metabolism, sexual function, reproduction, mood, and much more. Diabetes is an example of an endocrine disease that can cause a person to experience impotence. Diabetes affects the body’s ability to utilize the hormone insulin. One of the side effects associated with chronic diabetes is nerve damage. This affects penis sensations. Other complications associated with diabetes are impaired blood flow and hormone levels. Both of these factors can contribute to impotence. 2.Neurological and Nerve Disorders. Several neurologic conditions can increase the risk for impotence. Nerve conditions affect the brain’s ability to communicate with the reproductive system. This can prevent a person from achieving an erection. Neurological disorders associated with impotence include: Alzheimer’s disease Parkinson’s disease brain or spinal tumors multiple sclerosis stroke temporal lobe epilepsy People who have had prostate gland surgery can also experience nerve damage that causes impotence. Long distance bicycle riders can also experience temporary impotence. This is because repeated pressure on the buttocks and genitals can affect the function of the nerves. 3.Taking Medications. Taking certain medications can affect blood flow, which can lead to ED. A person should never stop taking a medicine without their doctor’s permission, even if it’s known to cause impotence. Examples of medications known to cause impotence include: alpha-adrenergic blockers, including tamsulosin (Flomax) beta-blockers, such as carvedilol (Coreg) and metoprolol (Lopressor) cancer chemotherapy medications, such as cimetidine (Tagamet) central nervous system depressants, such as alprazolam (Xanax), diazepam (Valium), and codeine (found in various brand name drugs) central nervous system stimulants, such as cocaine or amphetamines diuretics, such as furosemide (Lasix) and spironolactone (Aldactone) selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors or SSRIs (Prozac, Paxil) synthetic hormones, such as leuprolide (Eligard) 4.Cardiac-Related Conditions. Conditions that affect the heart and its ability to pump blood well can cause impotence. Without enough blood flow to the penis, a person can’t achieve an erection. Atherosclerosis, a condition that causes the blood vessels to become clogged, can cause impotence. High cholesterol and high blood pressure (hypertension) are also associated with increased risks for impotence. 5.Lifestyle Factors and Emotional Disorders. To achieve an erection, a person must first go through what’s known as an excitement phase. This phase can be an emotional response. If a person has an emotional disorder, this affects their ability to become sexually excited. Depression and anxiety are associated with increased risk for impotence. Depression is a feeling of sadness, loss of hope, or helplessness. Fatigue related to depression can also cause impotence. Performance anxiety can be another cause of impotence. If a person wasn’t able to achieve an erection in the past, he may fear he won’t be able to achieve an erection in the future. A person may also find he can’t achieve an erection with a certain partner. Someone with ED related to performance anxiety may be able to have full erections when masturbating or when sleeping, yet he isn’t able to maintain an erection during intercourse. Abuse of drugs like cocaine and amphetamines can also cause impotence. Alcohol abuse and alcoholism can affect a person’s ability to achieve or maintain an erection as well. See your doctor if you suspect that you may have a substance abuse problem. - Help us to be better - Subscribe this channel : - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCLxoodm3aztypble5nzetWw - Follow me on G+ https://plus.google.com/u/0/b/101670173470433692156/ - By Healthy Life
