These are the natural plants that provide amazing health benefits: Plants For Healing Blackberry To the Cherokee, the blackberry is the longest known remedy to an upset stomach, however this herb can be used for just about anything. Using a strong tea from the root of blackberry helps to reduce swelling of tissue and joints. A decoction from the roots, sweetened with honey or maple syrup, makes a great cough syrup. Even chewing on the leaves of blackberry can sooth bleeding gums. In this video, I'm showing you everything I ate on a day where I wanted to start fresh, nourish my body in a loving way with healthy, whole, simple, vegan foods and reset my system. This is not a miracle cure for weight loss, but eating this way helps me feel really good and full of energy. When I eat this way consistently my weight is never an issue and I have almost no cravings. Let me know in the comments :) Lunch Quinoa Sweet Potato Ground cumin Mixed lettuce + spinach, chopped cucumbers tomatoes red onion olives artichoke hearts sweet + hot peppers (these are from Trader Joe's) avocado lemon tahini salt + pepper Quick Vegan Lentil Soup 1 large carrot 1 large stalk of celery onion garlic clove turmeric cumin thyme rosemary cayenne pepper black pepper soy sauce ( I use like 2-3 tsp) water (about 3/4 of a cup) veggie broth (about 1 cup to 1.5 cups) optional: potatoes and brocoli. Steam potatoes for a few minutes until almost fork tender, then add broccoli. Drain water and return to pan with a tiny bit of coconut oil, salt, and pepper. Sauté until crispy on edges. I actually like doing this sportily because the potatoes get crispy and the broccoli flavor doesn't overpower the soup. I find that when I cook it all together, the whole soup tastes like broccoli. Try it this way if you have time. It can be done while the soup is cooking :) For the soup: Bring to a boil, reduce heat, cover, simmer for 20 minutes until lentils are soft and veggies are tender. Again, this isn't an exact recipe but I can make one for you if you're interested! MY DETOX RESULTS... Here's another grocery haul! This one focuses a bit on the items I picked up for my raw food cleanse/detox after being sick for like a week with strep + an upper respiratory cold. GAH! Anyway I forgot to mention my detox RESULTS so here they are: The short story is that I lost 9lbs of food waste. I know it was food waste and not necessarily fat because my clothes didn't fit any differently I just felt lighter and my stomach was flatter. I was tracking my weight loss on two different scales and they both revealed the same results, 9 lbs gone. I also obviously saw improvement in regularity which was part of the main reason I did this. The meds made me a bit constipated, sis. Let's just say this cleanse had me doing numbers like 4 times a day LOL. I was also forced to drink more water since I could only have that and fresh juice so I ended up consuming probably close to 4 gallons of water during the 5-day period. I feel great. It's like a reset for the digestive system and I think you'll get the best results if you do it periodically rather than nonstop. Just my opinion because there are definitely CONS to this lifestyle tbh but let's just say the flatulence alone is nearly unbearable. LOL Bye! In this video men's style, grooming, fitness and lifestyle expert, Aaron Marino of IAmAlphaM, AaronMarino, and Pete & Pedro is first taking you shopping at Costco and the grocery store. Chicken and fish (salmon, tilapia) are staples. He also picks up some quinoa which has a low hypoglycemic index. He gets apples, avocados, sweet potatoes, bagged salads, oatmeal, and egg whites at the grocery store. Once he gets home, he preps. Sunday is also the day he makes his Blue Apron which hes' been using since 2015. Lunch is around 3pm, consisting of a chicken or salmon salad (his 'power salad'). Then around 6pm, before the gym, he has protein bar or shake. Dinner is Blue Apron -or- chicken breast or fish, sweet potato or quinoa, and vegetable. At night, he always has low calorie ice cream. He doesn't measure anything, and this diet works for him. He refrains from red meat, and he uses S&P, fresh herbs, hot sauce, ketchup, sriracha, and red wine vinegar. Commit to yourself by preparing your meals. Seafood to Avoid: Due to toxins and sustainability, it is best to stay away from these types of seafood. (1) Shark: -Anything this high up on the food chain is going to be a red flag when it comes to toxins.Predators consume other fish and their toxins. The higher up on the food chain, the higher the levels of mercury and toxins in the fish. Adding to the health dangers is the unsustainable fishing practices. Sharks have long gestation periods, taking a long time to mature and have offspring. This makes overfishing or depleting their numbers easy to do. Most shark species are experiencing a large decline due to fishing, being caught as bycatch and for fins in Asia. (2) Tuna: A favorite among many sushi goers is unfortunately very high in mercury and horrible for sustainability. Some tuna is much better for you and the environment than others. If you do consume tuna, US yellowfin is the best option. Canned albacore tuna is high in mercury and should be avoided. Bluefin and imported albacore are the worst tuna options for health and sustainability - do your best to avoid these. Canned light tuna is better for you than canned white tuna when it comes to mercury, with about ⅓ the mercury content of canned white tuna. (3) Farmed Tilapia: Farmed tilapia in the US is often imported from China and Taiwan where the conditions and chemicals used are very troublesome. (4) Swordfish: All swordfish, being large hunters, are high in mercury. They are also fished very unsustainably, with large bycatch of sea turtles, sharks and seabirds. References 1.
