They are designated by Roman Numerals I through XIII. When a blood vessel is damaged, these clotting factors are switched on in a certain order (Blood Clotting Cascade) [link to coagulation page] and work to form a clot. Specifically, these 13 factors normally combine to a clot. If one factor is missing or present at low levels, this causes hemophilia and other blood clotting problems and a proper clot will not form. The two most common factor deficiencies are: factor 8 (or factor VIII) deficiency and factor 9 (or factor IX) deficiency. The most common, affecting 80% of the hemophilia population - those with hemophilia A - is factor VIII. When these blood clotting proteins aren't present is not easily stopped. This factor is so important to the treatment of hemophilia, that instead of saying they have "hemophilia A or B," most people say they are "Factor VIII" or "Factor IX" to identify their condition. Various substances are required for the proper functioning of the coagulation cascade: Calcium and phospholipid (a platelet membrane constituent) are required for the tenase and prothrombinase complexes to function. Calcium mediates the binding of the complexes via the terminal gamma-carboxy residues on FXa and FIXa to the phospholipid surfaces expressed by platelets, as well as procoagulant microparticles or microvesicles shed from them. Calcium is also required at other points in the coagulation cascade. Vitamin K is an essential factor to a hepatic gamma-glutamyl carboxylase that adds a carboxyl group to glutamic acid residues on factors II, VII, IX and X, as well as Protein S, Protein C and Protein Z. In adding the gamma-carboxyl group to glutamate residues on the immature clotting factors Vitamin K is itself oxidized. Another enzyme, Vitamin K epoxide reductase, (VKORC) reduces vitamin K back to its active form. Vitamin K epoxide reductase is pharmacologically important as a target of anticoagulant drugs warfarin and related coumarins such as acenocoumarol, phenprocoumon, and dicumarol. These drugs create a deficiency of reduced vitamin K by blocking VKORC, thereby inhibiting maturation of clotting factors. Vitamin K deficiency from other causes (e.g., in malabsorption) or impaired vitamin K metabolism in disease (e.g., in liver failure) lead to the formation of PIVKAs (proteins formed in vitamin K absence) which are partially or totally non-gamma carboxylated, affecting the coagulation factors' ability to bind to phospholipid. Tissue factor pathway (extrinsic)[edit] The main role of the tissue factor pathway is to generate a "thrombin burst", a process by which thrombin, the most important constituent of the coagulation cascade in terms of its feedback activation roles, is released very rapidly. FVIIa circulates in a higher amount than any other activated coagulation factor. The process includes the following steps:[7] Following damage to the blood vessel, FVII leaves the circulation and comes into contact with tissue factor (TF) expressed on tissue-factor-bearing cells (stromal fibroblasts and leukocytes), forming an activated complex (TF-FVIIa). TF-FVIIa activates FIX and FX. FVII is itself activated by thrombin, FXIa, FXII and FXa. The activation of FX (to form FXa) by TF-FVIIa is almost immediately inhibited by tissue factor pathway inhibitor (TFPI). FXa and its co-factor FVa form the prothrombinase complex, which activates prothrombin to thrombin. Thrombin then activates other components of the coagulation cascade, including FV and FVIII (which activates FXI, which, in turn, activates FIX), and activates and releases FVIII from being bound wATCH AGAIN https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R1wYycfGFjU SUBSCRIBE https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCOmrniWfKi-uCD6Oh6fqhgw -~-~~-~~~-~~-~- CHECK OUT NEWEST VIDEO: "Nucleic acids - DNA and RNA structure " https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0lZRAShqft0 -~-~~-~~~-~~-~-

Top 25 Fruits High In Vitamin K

03:14
Vitamin K is a name given to a collection of fat-soluble compounds including K1, K2, and K3. It makes proteins for healthy bones and normal blood clotting. Vitamin K is also an important factor in wound healing. K2 is found in dairy products and enters cell walls, bones, and tissues to help regulate function in areas apart from the liver. K1 is mainly found in green leafy vegetables and travels directly to the liver after absorption to assist in controlling blood clotting. Vitamin K foods are also high in fiber. Vitamin K is also used to reduce the risk of bleeding in liver disease, conditions where the human body doesn’t absorb enough vitamin K. Moreover, vitamin K helps the liver in the conversion and storage of glucose into glycogen. Fruits rich in vitamin K also help to lower cholesterol level. 💓 Best Supplements to Improve Blood Flow Naturally

08:18
How I quickly improved my dad’s blood flow in only 30 days (copy the same formula): 👉 http://drsam.co/yt/BloodFlow-Formula Or see the best sleeping position for better blood flow: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nZgO8yITTyM&index=16&list=PLkoAH5env5qVd3BMOH-jPUsmyuED97_1i ======================================= 💓 Best Supplements to Improve Blood Flow ======================================= They’re okay to short term to quickly improve blood flow should you run into a blood clot or something similar. However, it’s not a long-term solution by any means. Lifestyle improvements – Better diet, more exercise, stress management and losing weight are all very important – simply for a healthier life. And I’ve covered this topic in a previous video as well. Unfortunately, for many people – lifestyle improvements take a lot of effort, time and money. Sadly, most people just aren’t patient enough to wait for improvements. Additionally, the resulting improvement in circulation, isn’t very big. So people are left disappointed and frustrated. A Faster, Easier Solution And this is where supplements come in. The correct herbal extracts, vitamins and minerals, can dramatically improve your blood flow quickly and naturally, in a short amount of time … with the least amount of effort. And this is what we all want. And because of this, people are able to improve their blood flow and strengthen their blood vessels and KEEP it that way daily, month after month… year after year. So in doing the research for myself and my family, I discovered about a dozen natural ingredients that are clinically proven to improve blood flow: 4 Proven Herbs Let’s first start with the top 4 clinically proven herbal extracts. Ginger (Standardized Extract 15%) Ginger promotes an anti-inflammatory response. Fight against atherosclerosis, which is the hardening of the arteries. Inhibits abnormal platelet aggregation, which is a part of blood that can "clump" together and cause blood clotting. Increase contractile strength of the heart (strengthens the heart muscle) Nattokinase It fights Fibrin Buildup, which is an insoluble protein that impedes flow of blood (not what you want) Nattokinase is nature’s very own natural blood thinner known to support healthy blood pressure and improve circulation to every part of your body, so you can feel young and energized. Green Tea Extract (98% Polyphenols, 50% EGCG) Contains potent natural antioxidants catechins and flavonoids, which decrease plaque buildup in your arteries. Improves blood flow by increasing production of nitric oxide, promoting vasodilation. Improves both cholesterol and blood pressure levels. White Willow Extract (25% Salicin) Natural form of aspirin, but without the negative side-effects. Helps thin the blood Reduces inflammation Amino Acids In addition to herbs, we have 4 specific amino acids you should take. N-Acetyl L-Cysteine (NAC) This is a very important amino acid because it helps remove heavy metals and toxins, helps cleanse your kidneys and boosts your immune system. Even though NAC helps improve blood flow, the main reason I use it is because it helps cleanse your blood and decreases toxins. Having clean blood is just as important as good circulation. L-Carnitine Blend Carnitine is an amino acid that has many heart health benefits. However, a special blend of Acetyl L-Carnitine, Glycine Propionyl L-Carnitine (GPLC) and L-Carnitine Fumarate have been scientifically proven to increased blood flow to the brain Increased oxygenation of heart tissue Improve blood flow to vascular tissue Reduce hardening of the arteries (atherosclerosis) So the combination of these 3 forms of Carnitine can be magical in results. Vitamins & Minerals Let’s not forget our vitamins and minerals. The top 4 most important ones are: Magnesium blend Vitamin K2-7 Vitamin D3 Vitamin E ======================================== Thank you for watching. Here are some causes of blood clots and what you can do at home to prevent them

03:07
Blood clots are the body's natural way of stopping bleeding from a wound. Without the clotting ability, you could bleed out over something as simple as a scratch. Unfortunately, your body sometimes creates blood clots in the veins when you have been injured. These clots cannot escape the skin, but are deep within the tissues of the body. Often, these clots dissolve on their own and get absorbed, but sometimes, they will break off the walls of the veins and start flowing through the body. These can become dangerous. If you have been injured and are concerned about the possibility of developing blood clots, speak with your doctor and follow his advice. You can also be proactive at home and help your body keep from making clots by doing 7 simple things. 1. Walking. Taking a walk and taking one often, is what WebMD recommends. By getting up and getting moving, you cause the blood to flow, not allowing it collect on the vein walls. WebMD actually recommends taking five to six walks a day. 2. Virgin olive oil. Using virgin olive oil in your cooking not only replaces unhealthy fats, but it gives you a substance that everyday Health reports helps prevent blood clots from forming . 3. Less salt. No one wants to give up salt, but the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality recommends cutting back on this flavor enhancer if clots run in your family or if you are trying to prevent them. You can start by just slowly cutting back the amount until you've removed enough that you are on a "low-salt" diet. 4. Red grape juice. Who doesn't love to drink some red grape juice? everyday Health points out that the flavonoids found in deep red grapes help prevent blood clots from forming. Try drinking a glass of juice every day as a preventive measure. 5. Vitamin E. WebMD shares some interesting findings on a study on vitamin E. It appears to reduce the risk of blood clots forming when people are forced to remain inactive due to small spaces or physical inability to move. Before you jump on dosing yourself with vitamin E, you need to speak with your doctor. Too much of the vitamin can be dangerous. Trust your doctor to give you the right amount. 6. Elevation. If you are concerned about deep vein thrombosis, WebMD suggests elevating your legs. If you're already dealing with clots, this may help alleviate discomfort caused by them as well. 7. Turmeric. Many are recommending turmeric for preventing the formation of blood clots. According to Medical News Today, although turmeric shows great promise in preventing clotting in animals, none of the results have been able to be replicated in people. So far, this one is a bust. Your health is important. Taking measures to help your body heal is the wisest thing you can do for yourself and your family. Which Foods Can Increase Your Blood Flow & Circulation?

06:59
Do you know which foods, vitamins, minerals, and herbs can help you to increase your blood flow and circulation? Discover why Dr. Sam Robbins, natural health expert, recommends Blood Flow Optimizer™ like one of the solutions: ► http://drsam.co/yt/WhichFoods-BFO *********** Which Foods Can Increase Your Blood Flow & Circulation? ******************** In this video, we will discuss about foods that naturally increase blood flow, thin the blood and improve circulation. Poor circulation, due to fatty plaques and blood clots can slow healing and raise your risk of heart disease, heart attack or stroke. As the saying goes, “you are what you eat”. First thing that you need to do is to reduce or eliminate animal protein and fat, sugar intake and to eliminate all caffeine beverages because caffeine constricts your blood vessels and increases the stress hormone, cortisol. Then, you should focus on eating more natural whole grains, sweet potatoes, fruits, vegetables, legumes, fish and nuts. Also, you need to drink lots of purified water to increase your blood flow and volume. There are lots of foods that can slightly help increase blood flow, but the following 3 are by far the best and most effective. 1. Garlic 2. Fish 3. Cayenne Pepper If you want faster results, there are natural supplements and herbs that are super powerful and far more effective than foods in improving your blood flow. Certain vitamins and minerals are also very important. Blood Flow Optimizer™ is utilized by anyone who wants to improve their blood flow and circulation because you want a healthier heart and vascular system, in order to help avoid a heart attack or stroke. The reason for Blood Flow Optimizer™ success is because it’s a complete “All-In-One” proven solution that delivers results QUICKLY. Blood Flow Optimizer™ is the most comprehensive solution because it helps: - Decrease the plaque buildup and increase the openings in the vascular system – so you have better blood flow and circulation. - Strengthen the walls of the arteries and blood vessels, reducing the chance of a rupture or tear. - Inhibit future buildup of plaque and calcium, which can help prevent a heart attack or stroke. Blood Flow Optimizer™ is a complete, "all-in-one" formula without the negative side-effects of drugs, or the need for multiple supplements in order to achieve the same goal — a healthier heart and stronger vascular system. 10 Best Natural Blood Thinners - Complete Food List

04:53
Blood thinner medicines prevent blood clots from forming. Also, they keep existing blood clots from getting larger. Blood clots can stop the flow of blood to the lungs, heart, or brain which may lead to stroke or a heart attack. However, blood thinner medicines have some side effects such as - bleeding gums, nosebleeds, vaginal bleeding, heavier than normal menstrual, coughing up blood, brown or pink urine, vomiting blood, and black or red stools. Also, because these medicines work by interfering with the blood's ability to coagulate, you may also have trouble stopping the blood flow if you sustain even a minor injury. Luckily, there are a few natural blood thinners you can have in your diet to prevent blood clots, such as: #1 Turmeric - it comes from the Curcuma longa plant, that grows in India and other Southeast Asian countries. Curcumin, the main component of turmeric, has a variety of health benefits, including being a natural blood thinner. Moreover, turmeric is a natural anti-inflammatory, a natural immune modulator, and is increasingly being acknowledged as a potent cancer preventive and cancer fighter. #2 Bromelain, an enzyme found in pineapple, is a natural blood thinner, as it can help lower the excessive adhesiveness of blood platelets. In addition, it promotes a healthy complexion and hair, overall lower weight, and increased energy. #3 Garlic - it has a mild inhibitory effect on platelet aggregation (one of the first stages in blood clot formation), according to a 2001 study issued in "JAMA Internal Medicine." Some individuals also use garlic for the prevention of prostate cancer, lung cancer, stomach cancer, breast cancer, colon cancer, and rectal cancer. #4 Ginger - it is packed with salicylates, natural chemicals which help protect plants from disease and insect damage. Salicylates are also a major ingredient in aspirin and other pain-relieving medications. Foods containing salicylates are effective blood thinners since salicylates block vitamin K in the human body, hence, thinning the blood. #5 Ginkgo biloba, also known as gingko or ginkgo, has a compound called - Ginkgolide B which is known to reduce coagulation and increase blood flow to the brain and enhance memory. #6 Foods High In Vitamin E - vitamin E helps to prevent blood platelets from sticking together and causing clots. Vitamin E rich foods include - mustard greens, broccoli, blackberries, Swiss chard, almonds, sunflower seeds, spinach, collard greens, avocados, kale, kiwi, red bell peppers, mangoes, papaya, olives, apples, mamey sapote, and cranberries. #7 Foods High In Omega-3 Fatty Acids - omega-3 also decreases platelet aggregation, therefore, it acts as a natural blood thinner and lowers the chance of the formation of blood clots. The best source of omega-3 fatty acids is flax seeds. Other sources include - chia seeds, pinto beans, kale, red kidney beans, navy beans, pistachios, macadamia nuts, soybeans, mung beans, rice bran, walnuts, sesame seeds, and pecans. #8 Cayenne Pepper - it is a fast-acting natural blood thinner which in large quantities has the effect of a clot buster. Moreover, cayenne pepper has been used for heart attack recovery and relief from angina. It also helps increase the amount of heat the body produces, making it burn more calories for a few hours after consumption. #9 Cinnamon - it contains coumarin, a chemical which acts as a strong anticoagulant. Coumarin also has been used as both a food additive and as an ingredient in perfume due to its aromatic and sweet odor. #10 Tomatoes - they contain carotenoids, like - lycopene and lutein - which can protect the eye against light-induced damage. Also, lycopene inhibits platelet aggregation, thus, reducing the chance of blood clots. Tomatoes are also a good source of vitamin C, that can help combat the formation of free radicals. Notes - Staying hydrated can help thin your blood and sustain your cardiovascular system to function properly. It is recommended to drink half your body weight in ounces of water daily. For example, if you weigh 200 lbs., drink 100 ounces of water per day, which is 3 - 4 quarts a day or one gallon. Moderate daily physical exercise will also help thin the blood. Thank you. Watch: (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eLWz42-aWIM) How to Clear Blood Clots Naturally Lucky for us, nature has gifted us with more than a dozen clotting factors so that we don’t bleed ourselves to death. Certain conditions that predispose to a hypercoagulable blood cannot be changed, e.g. pregnancy, cancer, medicines like oral contraceptive pills, smoking, and genetic constitution, etc. However, the conditions that can be reversed or reduced considerably can be treated naturally by the methods below, all starting with Step 1. Changing Your Lifestyle -Stay active. Any activity which involves the action of skeletal muscles is very good to prevent blood clots. The energy spent on doing such activities for thirty minutes five to seven times a week equates to six hundred to twelve hundred calories spent per week. -Do specific exercises after long periods of immobility. -Do yoga. The yogic poses which stretch the calves, hip and hamstrings assist in healthy circulation of blood from the lower extremities to the heart. -Take a supplement. People who do not get enough dietary intake of Omega-3-fatty acids should consider taking a supplement. -Make sure you get adequate vitamins, too. Another cause which is a potential risk factor for the formation of clots is a high homocysteine level. -Keep the body hydrated. It always helps to take in lots of fluids. A dehydrated body is like an unlubricated body where the blood cells will be forced to stick to each other to form clots. -Pile on the omega-3s. Foods which are rich in omega-3 fatty acids have blood thinning properties as well as help in reducing the risk of forming blood clots. Vitamin K2 - Strongly Considered an Anti-Aging Vitamin - Reduces Varicose Veins-Promotes Bone Health

04:35
Age-related declines tend to be most felt in energy, cardiovascular, bone, and brain health. Vitamin K helps all four areas. We are just now starting to appreciate the wide metabolic effects of vitamin K2 on not just blood clotting, but bone health, cardiovascular health, cancer development, energy production, anti-aging & more. Vitamin K might be a forgotten vitamin, yet it is one of the most important nutrients you'll ever learn about. Vitamin K is a fat soluble vitamin that is necessary for blood clotting. It is also crucial to the proper functioning of the immune system. The vitamin has two forms: vitamin K1 which is found in green leafy vegetables such as spinach and vitamin K2 found predominantly in fermented foods such as natto. Vitamin K1 is used primarily to ensure proper blood clotting. Vitamin K2, on the other hand, helps with adequate calcium absorption. It is this specific mechanism that scientists say holds the key to supple skin. Vitamin K2 stops excess calcium from building up in the skin. This is how it prevents the formation of wrinkles and keeps the skin elastic. Clinical trials of the skin elasticity of Asian women found that Japanese women were less likely to have wrinkles due to the high natto (a traditional Japanese dish made from fermented soy beans) content in their diets. Even compared to fit, healthy, and active Asian women who ate a well-balanced diet, Japanese women still had better skin in terms of wrinkle amount and skin elasticity. Vitamin K2 helps to maintain the integrity of the tiny blood capillaries that feed the skin and it’s suspected that vitamin K2 plays a vital role in the health of all blood vessels, including those of the legs. Nutrition may determine how young you look. This is why vitamin K2 is strongly considered as an anti-aging vitamin. Vitamin K2 is found mainly in animal products and also in fermented products, like the Japanese natto, which is actually made from fermented soybeans. vitamin K2 is actually by-product of the bacteria that are produced as the soybeans begin to decompose and ferment. Sauerkraut is also another source that contains small amounts of Vitamin K2. If you feel that you are not obtaining enough vitamin K2 through your diet, then you can supplement vitamin K2 with a quality, vegan-friendly supplement. Other good sources of vitamin K2 are: cheese, egg yolk from pasture-raised hens, grass raised butter, chicken liver, chicken legs and thighs. You most likely have a vitamin K deficiency if you bruise and bleed easily. Other symptoms include: tooth decay, weak bones, heart problems, and poor gum health. You are not only what you eat, you look like what you eat, too. Start looking and feeling younger by adding Vitamin K2 to your diet. How to Avoid Blood Clots, a Stroke & Heart Attacks

Dr. Berg's New Book: https://shop.drberg.com/drbergs-new-body-type-guide Take Dr. Berg's Free Keto Mini-Course: http://pxlme.me/-i717vtY Dr. Berg talks about avoiding blood clots, a stroke and a heart attack. The body is constantly forming clots and dissolving clots. a clot is called a thrombus, which is composed of mostly fibrin (65%), 20% platelets, 10% RBCs, 1% WBC and only 4% cholesterol. A very small fraction of cholesterol makes a clot. If there is high levels of PAI-1 (Plasminogen activator inhibitor-1), you will have an increased risk of getting getting a blood clot. This compound is an inhibitor of enzymes that keep the clot dissolved. It's an enzyme inhibitor. Now the question is what triggers clot formation: 1. Glucose 2. Pre-insulin and insulin 3. Glucocorticoids (cortisol) 4. Excess Estrogen increases the risk of blood clots by 7x. VITAMINS!! |Their functions, and food sources| learn easily|.

02:01
Your body needs vitamins to operate at its optimal level. Two distinct kinds of vitamins exist: fat-soluble and water-soluble. Fat-soluble vitamins consist of vitamins A, E, D and K, while water-soluble vitamins include the B vitamins and vitamin C. All these vitamins perform particular jobs in your body and benefit your health in a multitude of ways. You can meet your daily vitamin requirements by eating a well-balanced diet. Vitamin A Vitamin A helps maintain good eyesight and support normal growth of cells. It plays a vital role in the development of the fetus and embryo. By maintaining adequate intakes of vitamin A, you can keep your teeth, bones, skin and mucus membranes in good health. Vitamin B Complex Vitamin B complex is comprised of eight vitamins, which include B-1, B-2, B-3, B-5, B-6, B-7, B-12 and folate, or B-9. These vitamins help your body produce the energy it needs to function better. The B vitamins assist your body in the formation of red blood cells, which supply oxygen to body tissues. Vitamin C vitamin C protects your body against the effects of free radicals, unstable molecules that damage your DNA and may enhance the aging process and the development of health issues such as arthritis, cancer and heart disease. Vitamin C is responsible for the growth and repair of body tissue. Vitamin D Evidence suggests that getting enough vitamin D may reduce your risk of certain cancers, particularly of the pancreas, breast, prostate, colon and skin, notes the University of Maryland Medical Center. Vitamin D and calcium work together to build and maintain strong bones. It provides protection from osteomalacia, the softening of bones in adults, and rickets. Good sources of vitamin D include fatty fish such as tuna, mackerel and salmon, fish liver oil and fortified foods. You can get a fairly respectable amount of vitamin D from exposure to sunlight. Vitamin E The antioxidant properties of vitamin E protect your body from free radical damage. Vitamin E helps boost your immune system, enabling it to battle bacterial and viral infections. It helps your body use vitamin K, the blood-clotting vitamin. This fat-soluble vitamin also contributes to the formation of red blood cells. Eating foods such as fortified breakfast cereals, seeds, vegetable oils, nuts and green leafy vegetables can help you get the recommended amounts of vitamin E. Vitamin K Your body stores vitamin K in the liver and fat tissue. Vitamin K plays an important role in helping blood clot properly. It also helps your body use calcium to build bone. Foods that provide generous amounts of vitamin K include dark green lettuce, cabbage, spinach, broccoli, asparagus, green tea, turnip greens, beef liver, green tea and kale. Hey guyzz!! Corn Silk Has Amazing Health Benefits, Kidney Stones, Blood Clotting, Cholesterol, Blood Sugar!

02:40
Corn silk is the hair-like strands found under the green outer covering of the corn. Many of us just discard it because we’re ignorant of the fact that it has numerous health benefits. This article highlights some of its wonderful benefits. PREVENTS KIDNEY STONES: Kidney stones are formed due to build up of small crystals in the kidney. It helps in the proper flow of urine, which averts the accumulation of crystals. Nonetheless, it can’t remove the stone that already exists in the kidney. ASSISTS IN BLOOD CLOTTING: It contains vitamin K that aids blood clotting. When you get hurt, the vitamin ensures that you don’t lose too much blood from your body by helping it to clot. CONTROLS BLOOD SUGAR: Numerous studies have confirmed that corn silk has the potential of controlling the blood sugar levels. Besides elevating insulin levels, it also helps in the repair of damaged pancreas cells, where insulin is produced. CONTROL CHOLESTEROL High cholesterol is associated with various heart diseases. Hence, you need to consume the outer corn silk to safe guard yourself from heart-related complications, as it controls the cholesterol levels in the body. DIURETIC PROPERTIES The diuretic properties of corn silk help to flush excessive fluids and toxins out of the body, hence averting the risk of Urinary tract infecting (UTI) and cardiovascular disease. How To Consume Corn Silk Add it in boiled water, make tea, serve hot or cold. To enhance the taste add lemon juice. In a jar full of water put corn silk and keep the jar under direct sunlight for a day. In the evening add some honey to that water and drink. Sources of Essential Micronutrients: Vitamins and Minerals

04:46
Essential micronutrients as the name suggests are nutrients our body needs only in small amounts. These are the vitamins and mineral. In todays we will talk about sources of vitamins and minerals and the function of micronutrients. Vitamins and minerals are essential micronutrients that play a variety of roles in our body, from building to repairing tissue, to aiding digestion, and maintaining nervous system functions. There is daily recommendation of all the micronutrients that we should consume to function normally. Deficiency of vitamins and minerals results in diseases. An example is scurvy due to Vitamin C deficiency in sailors who went on long voyages during 16 and 17th century. Keep in mind though there is also an upper limit for the amount of vitamins and minerals one must consume on a daily basis. When we consume too much of a particular vitamin or mineral, it can stay within the body, making blood levels more toxic. There can be unpleasant and even damaging side effects to having too much of micronutrient also. Sources of Vitamin and Mineral Functions Vitamins are either water-soluble or fat-soluble. The fat-soluble vitamins are A, D, E, K. These all require fat for digestion. Vitamin A plays a major role in vision, reproductive health and the immune system. Vitamin A and D play a key role in bone health. The best sources of vitamin A are egg yolks, milk and liver. The best source for vitamin D is sunlight. Vitamin E, has antioxidant properties and helps prevent cell damage. Vegetable oils, nuts and seeds are a great source of Vitamin E Vitamin K is found in leafy greens such as broccoli, Brussels sprouts and spinach. It plays a role in healing and blood clotting and bone growth. The water-soluble vitamins include all the B vitamins, vitamin C, folic acid and niacin: Niacin, Riboflavin (also known as B2) and Thiamin (also known as B1) help metabolize carbohydrates and amino acids. The great source of vitamins B1 and B2 are grains, cereals, meats, and legumes. Vitamin B6 plays a role similar to those of Niacin, Riboflavin and Thiamin, and also plays a role in neurotransmitter synthesis and the synthesis of blood cells. The great sources of vitamin B6 are poultry, cereals, chickpeas various root vegetables. Folic acid plays a major role in neurotransmitter and DNA synthesis, amino acid metabolization and red blood cell function. You’ll find it in fruits, legumes, liver, and wheat germ. Vitamin B12 plays a major role in the nervous system and in message transduction by maintaining the myelin sheath that encases nerves. Because of its important role, B12 deficiencies are serious. Unfortunately you’ll find B12 only in animal based food products such as poultry, beef and dairy. For vegans therefore we strongly recommend them to consume cereals fortified with B12. The work of Vitamin C is very broad. It plays a crucial role in healing and collagen production, it is an antioxidant, and synthesizes DNA and neurotransmitters. Vitamin C does not prevent the general public from contracting the common cold, though that seems to be a common myth. Too much vitamin C can be a bad thing, acting as an oxidant and even leading to nose bleeds and gastrointestinal distress. Best source of vitamin C are citrus fruits and vegetables. Essential minerals that our body needs include: - Magnesium - Potassium - Manganese - Calcium - Sulfur - Iron - Chromium - Fluoride - Iodide - Selenium - Zinc - Molybdenum - Copper - Chromium The main functions of minerals are: • Bone and organ tissue maintenance • Muscle contraction • Digestion • Healing • Cellular functions • Transportation and much more. With all the information we have you might now be confused on what you should be eating and how much. So to simplify things just keep in mind that micronutrients are available in whole, unprocessed foods. If you are able to consume a diet high in a variety of fruits, vegetables, legumes and meats and fish, you probably are not deficient in any of them. If on the other hand you find that you are eating a few of the same foods over and over, you may want to supplement your diet with a few key-missing micronutrients. Everyone Is Putting Butter In Their Coffee, Watch Why! Natural Remedies

03:59
Everyone Is Putting Butter In Their Coffee, Watch Why! Natural Remedies Butter coffee is something that is very trendy. People add butter in their coffee because it has strong, abundant taste and is very helpful when it comes to weight lose. This claiming come from people that have tried it.After trying they never go back to the old, black coffee. Tablespoon of butter and coconut oil is not something that we add to a coffee, but you must know that it is perfect combination. Use a blender to prepare this coffee and to unify the coffee with the liquid fat. As a bonus you will get a great foam on the top . If you are in a hurry you can simply add some butter to your hot coffee and let it melt. The best time to consume it is early in the morning . It will : 1. It’s A Better Alternative to Sugar and Whipped Cream Using butter in your coffee gives an almost creamy, latte-like texture, meaning you can skip the whipped cream and two spoons of sugar you normally use to get the same effect. And if you’re making these creamy concoctions at home instead of grabbing a Starbucks’ Grande Caffe Latte, you’ll be saving yourself over 17 grams of sugar. Too much sugar can lead to some serious health problems – like obesity, tooth decay, fatty liver disease, diabetes and more. 2. Omega 3 Fats Omega 3 fatty acids are essential for normal growth and play an important role in the prevention and treatment of coronary artery disease, arthritis, inflammation, cancer and high blood pressure. These fats are vital for our health, yet our bodies cannot produce them – meaning we must obtain them from our diet. Eating grass-fed butter (as opposed to grain-fed) can provide your body with a much needed boost of omega 3s and work towards regaining that healthy balance. 3. Vitamin K Known as ‘the forgotten vitamin’ as it is so often overlooked, Vitamin K helps in blood clotting and keeping the bones strong into old age. Vitamin K is found in leafy green vegetables, natto – a type of fermented soy bean, blueberries and grass-fed animal products, such as butter. 4. Contains CLA for Weight Loss Conjugated linoleic acid (C L A) has long been touted as a ‘miracle’ weight loss aid. In a 2004 study, a group of overweight women lost 9% body fat in just one year thanks to C L A supplementation – without making any changes to their dietary or lifestyle habits. Not only does C L A burn belly fat, but it protects against cancer and encourages muscle growth. 5. Keeps You Full for Longer Naturally, drinking black coffee alone won’t keep you full. However, when you add butter to your coffee, you’ll be increasing its caloric and fat value – stopping hunger pangs kicking in. In fact, fats are an important component of a healthy breakfast as they provide the most concentrated source of energy and prolong emptying of the stomach after eating. Many fans of bulletproof coffee swear it gets them through to lunch without any re-fueling (although many others say this is not the case and a mid-morning snack is required). 6. Can Reduce Caffeine Sensitivity and the Acidic Effects of Coffee Many people suffer the jitters after a cup of coffee – particularly that first cup on an empty stomach. Others can feel queasy and unsettled as the coffee is simply too acidic for them to handle first thing in the morning. Adding butter to your brew can reduce these effects as the fat content lines the stomach, protecting you from shakes and nausea. 7. Increase Energy Levels While we all know that coffee alone provides a quick energy boost, this can often be short-lived. But adding butter to your drink can provide more sustained energy as fat is the most energy dense macro nutrient.

Top 15 Healthy Foods Good For The Heart And Blood Pressure

03:51
#1 Tomatoes provide vitamin C, lycopene, and alpha- and beta-carotene. Interestingly, cooking may actually increase the health benefits of this lush fruit because although cooked tomatoes have less vitamin C, their lycopene content is more available. #2 Apples are high in vitamin C and dietary fiber (a medium apple has 4 grams of fiber). According to the researchers from Harvard University, for every 10 grams of fiber you consume, your risk for coronary heart disease drops by approximately 14%, plus, fruit fiber was found to be especially protective. #3 The polyphenols in grapes can help to protect you from heart disease by suppressing the process of atherosclerosis, a type of heart disease resulting in the buildup of low-density lipoprotein in artery walls. This condition can cause a stroke or a heart attack. #4 Oatmeal is high in soluble fiber, that can lower total and LDL cholesterol because it acts as a sponge in the digestive tract and absorbs the cholesterol which is then eliminated from the body. #5 Red cabbage protects against heart disease, largely due to its high concentration of beta-carotene, resveratrol, and vitamin C. According to a study conducted by the Department of Epidemiology at Harvard School of Public Health, one serving a day of vegetables and fruits, especially those that are high in vitamin C, like cruciferous vegetables, results in a 4% lower risk of coronary heart disease. #6 Bananas have one of the highest potassium contents available. Low potassium levels are associated with a risk of heart disease, high blood pressure, stroke, cancer, arthritis, infertility, and digestive disorders. #7 Oranges have the cholesterol-fighting fiber pectin. They are also a good source of potassium, that helps control blood pressure. In one recent study, 2 oranges per day boosted blood vessel health as well as it lowered blood pressure in men. #8 Cantaloupe may prove useful in the treatment of different forms of heart disease because of its anti-inflammatory abilities. Heart disease, including atherosclerosis (hardening of the arteries), is usually attributed to high levels of inflammation as one of the leading causes. #9 Mango contains a good amount of potassium which increases the fluid level. In addition, the high levels of fiber and vitamin C in mangoes help to lower serum cholesterol levels, specifically Low-Density Lipoprotein. #10 Flaxseeds contain omega-3 fatty acids (the best source), pectins, and dietary fiber to boost heart health. You can take them in milled or ground form to reap the greatest benefit. #11 The potassium, fiber, vitamin C, and B6 found in kale support heart health. An increase in potassium intake along with a decrease in salt (due to its sodium content) intake is the most important dietary change that sufferers of a cardiovascular disease can make to improve their health. #12 Garlic seems to reduce LDL and total cholesterol, especially in people who have high cholesterol. However, HDL cholesterol and triglycerides do not seem to be affected. #13 Walnuts are a good source of omega-3 fats which are beneficial for the heart, particularly when you use these monounsaturated fats in place of trans- and saturated fats. Thus, you raise your “good” HDL cholesterol and cut your “bad” LDL cholesterol. #14 Asparagus boasts two nutrients which help lower LDL blood cholesterol - saponins (nutrients that stop the digestive tract from absorbing cholesterol) and soluble fiber. Asparagus also contains potassium, which helps regulate blood pressure, and vitamin K, that can help with blood clotting. #15 Black beans are packed with heart-healthy nutrients, such as folate (vitamin B9), antioxidants, and magnesium. Additionally, their dietary fiber content helps control both cholesterol and blood sugar levels.   Thank you. This was our video with healthy foods for your heart or a heart healthy diet. If you like the video, give it a thumbs†up and share it with your friends! If you want more recipes and tips, subscribe to the channel! Know Why Vitamin K is Important Vitamin K, an essential fat-soluble vitamin, plays an important role in bone and heart health. The term vitamin K refers to a family of compounds with a common chemical structure of 2-methyl-1, 4-naphthoquinone. These compounds include phylloquinone (vitamin K1) and a series of menaquinones (vitamin K2) Being a fat-soluble vitamin, your body stores it in fat tissue and the liver. Signs of Vitamin K Deficiency A deficiency in vitamin K can lead to defective blood clotting, increased bleeding and osteoporosis. Some of the signs and symptoms include easy bruising, oozing from the nose or gums, heavy menstrual periods, gastrointestinal bleeding, blood in the urine and excessive bleeding from wounds, punctures, injections or surgical incisions. People with chronic malnutrition, alcohol dependency or health conditions that inhibit absorption of dietary vitamins are at a higher risk of suffering from vitamin K deficiency. How Much Vitamin K You Need The U.S. National Institutes of Health recommends the following as adequate daily intake of vitamin K in micrograms (mcg), based on your age and gender. Certain illnesses may alter the amount of this vitamin that you need each day. Consult your doctor with any questions. Best Sources of Vitamin K To get vitamin K, you can always take supplements after consulting your doctor. However, there are many natural sources, too. Leafy greens and cruciferous vegetables are two of the best sources of vitamin K. Some examples include kale, collard greens, spinach, turnip greens, Swiss chard, Brussels sprouts, cauliflower, parsley, broccoli, asparagus and lettuce. Other food sources include natto (fermented soy), spring onions, prunes, cucumbers, beef liver, green tea, sea vegetables, fish, eggs, dried basil, wheat bran, and fermented dairy products like yogurt and cheese. Here are the top health benefits of Vitamin K. 1. Regulates Blood Clotting One of the primary functions of vitamin K is to regulate blood clotting, which requires a particular set of molecules that continuously circulate through the bloodstream. It plays a key role in amalgamation of prothrombium, an automatic process that happens during injury due to tears in the blood vessels. Also, vitamin K helps transport calcium throughout the body, which is needed for regulating blood clotting. At the same time, this vitamin helps improve blood disorders called myelodysplastic syndrome. It is also used to reverse the effects of blood-thinning medications when too much is given. Furthermore, it prevents clotting problems in newborns who have low vitamin K levels. 2. Improves Bone Health This important vitamin plays a major role in improving bone health and reducing the risk of bone fractures. Vitamin K is especially important for postmenopausal women who are at risk for osteoporosis. Your body needs vitamin K to use calcium to build bones. An adequate amount of vitamin K, especially K2, is needed to activate osteocalcin, a protein circulating in the blood that binds calcium ions to the matrix of bone, making bones stronger. In fact, people with adequate amounts of vitamin K have greater bone density, while low levels of vitamin K are linked to osteoporosis. 3. Supports Heart Health Vitamin K is also good for your heart health. First of all, it helps lower blood pressure by preventing buildup of minerals in the arteries (mineralization). This allows the heart to freely push blood throughout the body. 4. Fights Cancer Vitamin K is effective in the fight against colon, stomach, liver, oral, prostate and nasal cancers, due to its anticancer effects. A 2013 study published in Evidence-Based Complementary and Alternative Medicine found that vitamin K2, a naturally occurring menaquinone, exerts therapeutic effects on both hormone-dependent and hormone-independent prostate cancer cells. 5. Enhances Insulin Sensitivity Vitamin K is also beneficial improving insulin resistance and reducing the risk of diabetes. Many Americans are developing varicose veins and leg swelling thanks to busy careers that require long periods of sitting at a desk and risky fashion choices that harm blood circulation. Statistics show that varicose veins affect more than 20% of adults in the US. In the initial stages, there are ways of reducing the severity of symptoms and preventing the progression of varicose veins. Most of these methods can be used at home. As with any other health issue, varicose veins should be treated properly. Bright Side gathered for you the most common yet effective methods for dealing with the development of varicose veins. A study showed that some herbal medicines can have a positive effect on venous insufficiency symptoms such as swelling, cramping, or restless legs. Dietary supplements, such as grapeseed extract, rutin, or a plant called gotu kola, are known as a good treatment for spider veins. They’re available in the form of pills, capsules, or ointment. Varicose veins develop when small valves inside your veins stop working properly. In healthy veins, there are a series of tiny valves that open and close in order to allow the blood to flow smoothly to the heart in one direction. If these valves get damaged or weakened, the blood flows backwards causing the veins to become swollen and enlarged. There are multiple things that can cause varicose veins like: age, weight, long periods of standing or sitting, pregnancy, genetics, being female, and so on. Here at Bright Side we did some research on how to treat your varicose veins at home and how to prevent them in the future. Tomato seeds, contain salicylic acid which has properties that are similar to aspirin and work as an anticoagulant, for preventing blood clots and improving blood flow. In addition, tomatoes are rich in lycopene, which concentrates in our cell membranes and prevents damage to the lipids in our cells. If applied to the skin topically, it reduces the appearance of the damaged veins and it influences the thickness, strength, and fluidity of our membranes, allowing nutrients to be absorbed and preventing toxins from entering. Increasing blood circulation is essential when it comes to treating varicose veins. Olive oil has anti-inflammatory, toning, and soothing properties that, after being absorbed through the skin, will reduce the size of dilated and enlarged veins and will activate blood flow. Olive oil also has a high content of essential fatty acids, vitamin E, and minerals. Due to the high content of Omega-3 fatty acids, it improves the passage of blood through the veins and restores the function of the unidirectional valves. Garlic is used for many conditions that are related to the heart and the circulatory system. Garlic produces allicin and ajoene, which are sulfurous compounds that have the ability to improve blood circulation. They contribute to the prevention of inflamed blood vessels and to the prevention of blood clots. Garlic has very powerful anti-inflammatory properties that are ideal for reducing the swelling of varicose veins, as well as, the discomfort that they can cause. In addition, garlic has quercetin, which is a flavonoid that helps strengthen the veins and blood vessels, preventing them from suffering any damage. Lemons are high in vitamin C, B6, A, E, folate, niacin, thiamin, riboflavin, pantothenic acid, copper, calcium, iron, magnesium, potassium, zinc, phosphorus, and protein. The large amounts of vitamin C helps protect cells from damaging free radicals and prevent oxidative damage. In addition, it helps to prevent varicose veins, high blood pressure, and skin wrinkling according to a study done by the American Society of Clinical Nutrition. Aloe vera gel also contains salicylic acid and other antiseptic compounds that kill off the bacteria that cause acne which makes it a great natural remedy for breakouts and an excellent cleanser for the skin. It is also packed with minerals, enzymes, antioxidants, and vitamins A, C, and E, which all work together to reinforce the skin’s barrier. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Our Social Media: Facebook: http://facebook.com/brightside.mini/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/brightgram/ ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For more videos and articles visit: http://www.brightside.me/

DEEP VEIN THROMBOSIS 12 Remedies To Prevent Deep Vein Thrombosis DVT. Deep vein thrombosis, or deep venous thrombosis (DVT), occurs when a blood clot forms in one or more veins located deep inside your body. These blood clots usually develop in the legs, but can occur in other areas also. A blood clot forms when blood does not circulate normally or clot properly. Some signs and symptoms of DVT include swelling, cramping pain, the affected area feeling warmer than surrounding areas and a change in the color of the skin near the affected area. Most people do not have symptoms, making it difficult to diagnose the problem at the early stage. DVT can be life threatening if a blood clot in your vein breaks loose, travels through your bloodstream and reaches the lung. This can block blood flow in the lung, resulting in pulmonary embolism. Together, DVT and pulmonary embolism comprise a condition known as venous thromboembolism (VTE). For preventing and treating DVT, you must be aware of the risk factors. These include having a blood-clotting disorder, obesity, pregnancy, an injury to your veins, surgery, some types of cancers and their treatments, heart failure, inflammatory bowel disease and family history. Prolonged bed rest, taking birth control pills, smoking and older age also put you at a higher risk. Here are some of the ways to help deal with deep vein thrombosis.. 1. Elevation and Compression 2. Exercise Daily. 3. Ginger Ginger also plays a great role in treating DVT. A natural salicylate, it can block vitamin K and thin the blood. It also boosts blood circulation in arteries and veins. Plus, it helps prevent high cholesterol, which can cause plaque buildup and inhibit circulation. 4. Cayenne Pepper This natural blood thinner also helps in the treatment of DVT. The compound capsaicin in cayenne pepper promotes blood circulation and helps prevent blood clots. It also strengthens the arteries and capillaries. Cayenne pepper also normalizes blood pressure and reduces cholesterol and triglyceride levels. 5. Eat Foods Rich in Vitamin E Vitamin E contains antiplatelet and anticoagulant properties that help prevent blood clots. It inhibits platelet aggregation and antagonizes the effects of clotting factors. According to a 2007 study published in the Circulation journal, vitamin E supplementation may reduce the risk of venous thromboembolism and those with a prior history or genetic predisposition may particularly benefit. 6. Turmeric This wonderful spice also has blood-thinning properties and can help improve circulation. Curcumin, the active ingredient in turmeric, helps prevent blood platelets from forming clots. It also reduces the risk of plaque buildup in the arteries. Its anti-inflammatory property helps reduce pain and swelling. 7. Garlic Garlic promotes blood circulation and inhibits the formation of blood clots. It also helps lower blood pressure. 8. Apple Cider Vinegar Apple cider vinegar is another great natural remedy. It improves blood flow and circulation, thus reducing the clotting as well as p 9. Fish Oil Fish oil has omega-3 fatty acids that contain antiplatelet and fibrinolytic properties that help treat DVT. It helps prevent arterial blood clots and aids in dissolving clots, potentially both arterial and venous. Fish oil also helps reduce blood pressure and cholesterol levels.
