Pine Pollen “a great anti-aging substance”
The present paper was designed to investigate the effect of pine pollen against aging in human diploid fibroblast 2BS cells and in an accelerated aging model, which was established by subcutaneous injections with D-galactose daily for 8 weeks in C57BL/6J mice. Pine pollen, 1 mg/mL and 2 mg/mL, is proved to delay the replicative senescence of 2BS cells as evidenced by enhanced cell proliferation, decreased SA-β-Gal activity, and reversed expression of senescence-associated molecular markers, such as p53, p21Waf1, p16INK4a, PTEN, and p27Kip1 in late PD cells. Besides, pine pollen reversed D-galactose-induced aging effects in neural activity and inflammatory cytokine levels, as indicated by improved memory latency time and reduced error rate in step-down test and decreased concentrations of IL-6 and TNF-α in model mice. Pine pollen inhibited D-galactose-induced increment of AGEs levels thus reversed the aging phenotypes in model mice. Furthermore, the declined antioxidant activity was obviously reversed upon pine pollen treatment, which may account for its inhibitory effect on nonenzymatic glycation, NEG, in vivo. Our finding presents pine pollen as an attractive agent with potential to retard aging and attenuate age-related diseases in humans.
Probably the most crucial antioxidant the body makes
Unconjugated vitamin D and its metabolites were investigated in the pollen of Pinus nigra Ar. and Pinus sylvestris L. by TLC, HPLC and competitive radiochemical determination of 25-hydroxycholecalciferol, 25-OHD3. It was found that vitamin D, D2, D3, was present in the pollen in amounts about 2 micrograms/10 g and 25-OHD3, 24,25-dihydroxycholecalciferol, 24,25- OH, 2D3, and 1,25-dihydroxycholecalciferol, 1,25-OH, 2D3, between 0.1 and 3 micrograms/10 g of pollen, dependent on pollen species and methods.
Will restore healthy levels of testosterone
The recent research on chemical components and pharmacological function of pine pollen is summarized. Results show that pine pollen contains protein, aminophenol, mineral, vitamin, enzyme, coenzyme, fattiness, flavone, nucleic acid, monosaccharides, amylose and phospholipid, etc.Furthermore, pine pollen has many pharmacological functions, including anti tiredness,anti-senility,liver protection, improvement of cardio-cerebral blood vessel and sexual function, and so on.Meanwhile, the exploitation and utilization prospects are given.
It helps regenerate the body’s …tissues..bones..
These results suggest that the pine pollen might be beneficial in the treatment of chronic inflammatory disorders.
