Bird Digestion Tutorial

03:39
A bird’s digestive system is somewhat different from our digestive system. Before we take a look at digestion in birds, lets first review the basics of digestion in humans. When we eat, food enters the mouth. Here, we use our tongue, cheeks, and teeth to manipulate, chew, and swallow a food bolus. Saliva in the mouth helps to both break down starch and it also lubricates the food. Once swallowed, the bolus enters the pharynx and then enters the esophagus. In here, peristalsis pushes the food down into the stomach. The stomach is where fat and protein digestion occurs with the help of hydrochloric acid, hormones, and enzymes. The contents pass into the small intestine. The liver, gallbladder, and pancreas aid in digestion of other macromolecules by secreting hormones and enzymes. Nutrients are absorbed in the small intestine and they go through the hepatic portal vein to the liver or to the lymphatic system. The rest of the food enters the large intestine in which water reabsorption and vitamin K production occur. Finally, waste collects in the rectum and is expelled through the anus. Now that we’ve had an overview of our digestive system, we can examine birds for comparison. Birds also start by placing food in their mouth, but because they lack teeth, they either swallow their prey whole or tear it into smaller pieces so that they can swallow it. Once swallowed, the food bolus enters the pharynx and then travels down the esophagus and enters the crop. The crop stores food before it enters the stomach, which unlike ours, has 2 chambers. The proventriculus secretes acids, hormones, and enzymes for protein and fat digestion. Because birds don’t chew food, the contents also enter the gizzard. The gizzard is a group of tough muscles and previously swallowed stones called gastroliths these help grind up the rest of the food. Indigestible pieces such as bones and fur are ejected out of the gizzard and pelleted out of the mouth. The remaining contents re-enter the proventriculus and then after completing gastric digestion, food enters the small and large intestines. Raptors have slightly shorter intestines than us because meat is easy to absorb. The caeca reabsorb water and break down fiber. The final products from the rectum collect with uric acid in the cloaca and are expelled through the vent." ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Collaborators Mikie H for artwork and animation Aaron A for narration Research for tutorial from Backyard Nature website

1. Benefits Of Spinach For Weight Loss: Spinach leaves benefits in weight reduction as it is low in calories and fat. It is very nutritious and has a good quality of fat soluble dietary fibre. This fibre aids in digestion, prevents constipation, maintains low blood sugar and curbs overeating. Thus, this leafy vegetable is often recommended to dieters because in dieting, it is important to avoid repetitive eating. 2. Anti-cancer: Spinach is rich in flavonoids- a phytonutrient with anti-cancer properties. Thus, it has been found to be effective in slowing down cell division in human stomach and skin cancer cells. Moreover, spinach has proven to be effective in providing protection against the occurrence of aggressive prostate cancer. 3. Promotes Eye Health: Spinach contains antioxidants lutein and zeaxanthin in plentiful which protect the eye from cataracts and age related macular degeneration (ARMD). Zeaxanthin is an important dietary carotenoid which is absorbed into the retinal macula lutea in the eyes, providing light filtering functions. Spinach also contains vitamin A which is required for maintaining healthy mucus membranes and essential for normal eyesight. 4. Maintains Healthy Bones: Spinach is rich in vitamin K which is vital for maintaining bone health. A cup of boiled spinach provides around 1000% of the RDA of vitamin K which lowers and controls the over activation of osteoclasts. These are the cells that aid in breaking down the bone structure over a short period of time. Vitamin K also promotes the synthesis of osteocalcin, the protein that is essential for maintaining the strength and density of bones. Spinach is a good alternative to dairy products as it gives proper substitute to calcium, thus preventing the occurrence of osteoporosis. It is an important protein diet for vegans as it helps in building the muscle tissues as well as supporting the collagen growth. 5. Lowers Hypertension: Hypertension or high blood pressure is responsible for causing kidney disease, heart ailments and stroke. Consuming spinach is beneficial in lowering hypertension as some of its constituents help to reduce stress and anxiety. The nutrients in spinach play a critical role in keeping the balance of Na- K pump by lowering the K (potassium) in your body. Vitamin C also plays an important role in lowering hypertension. 6. Relaxes the Body: Spinach keeps the body relaxed and completely stress free. It contains tremendous amounts of zinc and magnesium which enable you to sleep better at night, thus making way for more effective healing. Magnesium helps in replenishing your lost energy within seconds. A good quality sleep rests your tired eyes, thus relaxing your body as a whole. 7. Promotes Gastrointestinal Health: Consuming more of spinach promotes gastrointestinal health. The beta-carotene and vitamin C present in it protect the cells of the body’s colon from the harmful effects of free radicals. Besides, folate prevents DNA damage and mutations in colon cells. 8. Brain and Nervous Function: Spinach maintains proper brain functioning specially during old age. Consumption of spinach on a daily basis makes your brain young and active, thus enabling you to think intelligently. Spinach contains folate, vitamin K and vitamin C which help in modulating the hormone production of our nervous system. Vitamin K promotes healthy nervous system and brain function by facilitating the synthesis of sphingolipids, the crucial fat that makes up the Myelin sheath around our nerves. Thus, spinach can prove beneficial for correcting behavioral and cognitive issues. 9. Prevention of Atherosclerosis and Heart Attack: Excessive fat deposition can cause thickening of the human artery wall resulting in Atherosclerosis. Heart attacks are caused due to the hardening of the artery walls. Spinach is rich in Lutein content which prevents thickening of the walls of arteries, thus reducing the risk of heart attack. Besides, spinach contains a high quality nitrite which not only helps in preventing the occurrence of heart attack but also cures the heart diseases associated with fat deposition. 10. Lowers Blood Pressure: Peptides contained in spinach are effective in lowering blood pressure as they inhibit the angiotensin I-converting enzyme. 11. Anti-inflammatory Properties: Spinach contains Neoxanthin and violaxanthin, the two anti-inflammatory epoxyxanthophylls that regulate inflammation. Thus, it is beneficial in preventing inflammatory diseases such as arthritis, osteoporosis, migraine headaches and asthma. 12. Eat This EVERY Morning You Will Look 10 Years Younger!

04:40
Forget forking out lots of money for expensive chemical-loaded face creams in the hope they’ll protect against wrinkles, banish puffy circles, or rejuvenate a rapidly ageing complexion. The saying "You are what you eat" is literally true. What you eat is actually more important than what you apply on your skin! Eating the right foods can help you age better, both on the inside and outside. Everyone can look younger and healthier simply by changing what they eat and how they cook. Just some simple adjustments to your diet can make a big difference! Here are some of the best anti-aging foods to keep you looking young and your skin at its finest. 1. Avocado One of the super foods packed with anti-aging super powers is avocado. The delicious and creamy rich avocado is considered to be one of the world’s healthiest fruits because of its nutrient contents such as vitamin K, dietary fiber, potassium, folic acid, vitamin B6, vitamin C, copper and sensible calories. Avocado is a high-antioxidant food that contains lutein, a type of carotenoid that protects eye health and preserves healthy, youthful looking skin and hair. Carotenoids are the group of antioxidant phytochemicals found in veggies like carrots, squash and sweet potatoes that are known for blocking the effects of environmental toxins like pollution and UV light damage. High amount of carotenoids in avocados have been shown in scientific studies to be able to improve skin’s density, thickness, tone and general appearance. The monounsaturated fats in avocado are also beneficial for improving your skin's elasticity. They are vital for maintaining good moisture levels in the epidermal layer of your skin that make it looks glowing and healthy. 2. beetroot The benefits of beetroot have been backed by countless studies, but it seems most people are unaware of its nutritional value. These bright red root vegetables are a rich store of vitamins and minerals rarely found in such high concentrations within one food. Being high in folate, beets stimulate the production and repair of cells, which in turn helps prevent premature aging. Studies have shown that the high levels of folates and antioxidants can reduce the severity of skin wrinkles by 60%. The high carotenoids concentration in beets also helps fight age-related macular degeneration and ensure clear vision. The methods of eating beetroots are endless — juiced, sliced, shredded, you name it. You can sprinkle beetroot with lemon if you do not like the taste of it. 3. White fungus White fungus is commonly known as the poor man’s bird’s nest because it is a rich source of collagen. It is said that eating white fungus could help keep our skin young believing that its collagen content is comparable to bird’s nest. Bird nest is a costly collagen supplement in Asian countries, it costs about 50 times more than white fungus. So it is clear why white fungus is dubbed ‘poor man’s bird nest’. Asian herbalists have used white fungus for more than 2,000 years, primarily to increase fluids in the body, for dry coughs, and for palpitations. It has been used as a tonic herb and as a beauty enhancer to prevent aging. White fungus has also been utilized by royalty in Korea for centuries to maintain youthful looking skin. It is said to aid in anti-aging and maintaining that youthful glow that Korean women are so famous for. Often sold in marketplaces as a herbal remedy to replenish body fluids and slow down signs of aging. This mushroom comes dried and immediately bounces to a jelly-like texture when being soaked in water. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Like us on Facebook: https://goo.gl/eBW5tz Please subscribe my channel: https://goo.gl/1ROjWP Please click the bell button to get notified about my videos. Birds k liyah grit bananay ka tareeq or grit k faiday. how to make grit for birds. Video no. 87

09:17
LIKE | COMMENT | SHARE | SUBSCRIBE Do birds need grit? This is not only a common question of concern to bird owners, but a source of disagreement as well. Understanding what grit is, its purpose, and the possible problems which may result from its use, can help us in deciding whether or not to offer it to our birds. Most of the information presented here has been gathered and summarized from the well respected book Avian Medicine: Principles and Application by Ritchie, Harrison and Harrison. The Purpose of Grit Grit is used by birds to aid in the digestion of whole, intact seeds. Birds' digestive enzymes work well in digesting the inner portion of seeds, but have difficulty with their fibrous coating. The fibrous hulls of whole seeds, such as sunflower seeds, act like a barrier, preventing digestive enzymes from reaching the nutritious seed within. Grit, in the ventriculus, aids in grinding and wearing away the outer shells of the seeds, enabling the digestive enzymes to reach the valuable inner portion. If there is any other purpose for the use of grit by birds, it is not yet known. What Is Grit? The term grit is applied to two different groups of substances - insoluble grit and soluble grit. Insoluble grit, the type being discussed here, is composed of minute stones such as silicates and sandstones and is used in digesting unhulled seeds. Birds, such as pigeons and doves, which swallow the entire seed, require such grit. Insoluble grit cannot be digested and will remain in the body until expelled. Soluble grit is organic and includes crushed shells (such as oyster shells) or cuttlebone. Soluble grit is mostly limestone (calcium carbonate). Since it is easily digested by acids found in the proventriculus, there is little danger of it accumulating in the digestive system. However, while soluble grit is a source of calcium, it does little in aiding the digestion of whole seeds. Further, instances of heavy metal toxicity have been reported with the feeding of soluble grit which has come from areas with polluted waters. Which Birds Require Grit Since the purpose of grit is to remove the outer coatings of whole seeds, it would seem that only birds which consume intact seeds, such as doves, require grit in their diet. Grit is not required in normal, healthy, psittacine (parrots) or passerine (canaries, finches, starlings, mynahs) birds. Since these birds remove the fibrous hulls from the seeds in the act of eating them, the digestive enzymes have no barriers to prevent them from acting upon the seed. In fact some species of parrots have ridges on the inside portion of their upper beak which are believed to aid in the shelling of seeds. The seed is held in place by the ridges, while the lower beak is used to crack and remove the hull. Birds on a formulated (pelleted) diet also should not require grit. Avian Medicine: Principles and Application reports that there have been many examples of healthy birds which have not had grit for periods of 15 to 20 years and show no signs of poor digestion. On the other hand, it is believed that birds with pancreatic or physical digestion problems, may benefit from some grit. However, in such cases an avian vet should be consulted. In the US, the use of grit is usually discouraged, especially if offered freely (ad libitum) which may lead to obstructive gastritis. In Australia, where grit is frequently given to pet birds, few problems have been reported. At the moment there is no explanation for these geographical differences. If an owner does feel that grit should be given, Avian Medicine: Principles and Application recommends that it not be offered freely, but as a compromise, cockatiel size birds can be given 5 grains of grit biannually (every 2 years) and cockatoo sized birds may be given 1/2 teaspoon biannually. Potential Problems Caused by Grit If given free access to grit, some birds may overconsume it, leading to crop, proventricular or ventricular impactions. According to Avian Medicine: Principles and Application "This problem is reported commonly in North America but appears uncommon in Australia. The cause for a regional variation in the occurrence of this condition is unknown. Birds showing compulsive grit consumption should be evaluated for hepatopathy, pancreatitis, renal dysfunction and general malnutrition." join Whatsapp Group :- https://chat.whatsapp.com/invite/KrZIeCZoPc2DEHT7Hhd1b9# Watch birds related all topic:- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FUDkiK9j9uA&list=PLvyyYMRyK2VPTS1q9TyvHv2WxgFRw1nmg Facebook Page:- https://www.facebook.com/birdslover4 Don't forget to Share, Like and Subscribe my channel.

Today's video is only a short one. If your bird opens his beak at you, you're very lucky – you've just done something that made him very happy! (Click to expand:) Cucumbers are healthy, important treats for birds. They contain significant amounts of vitamin K. They are also a decent source of pantothenic acid, copper, potassium, manganese, vitamin C, phosphorus, magnesium, biotin and vitamin B1, as well as feather growth-supporting silica. These minerals all help get through a moult better. As you see, Leporello currently looks very orange; this is because after moulting, it takes a while for the red pigment to accumulate in the feathers. Electrogen D+ BULB

00:31
Timeline MediaPro Another Quality Product from The Winning Formula: THUNDERBIRD Brand Head: Francis Martinez Brand Managers: Albert Uy and Francis Ong Creative Director: Robert Harn Directed by Mario Sarmiento Produced by Grant Lee Product Description: ELECTROGEN D+ is an oral rehydrating formula fortified with vitamins, dextrose and glycine for maximum absorption. It replaces loss fluids and electrolytes during hot weather, wet droppings, diarrhea and vomiting cases to prevent acidosis and death due to prostration and electrolyte imbalance. Massive doses of water and fat-soluble vitamins are also included to support body functions especially during stressed periods and hot weather when feed intake is low. Dextrose provides an immediate source of energy especially during cases of diarrhea and poor feed intake in calves, piglets and poultry. It does not need to be digested, hence can be immediately absorbed in the intestine. Without adequate dextrose, electrolytes are absorbed slowly, thus slow-acting. The presence of glucose ensures that electrolytes will be readily available in the body to correct imbalances due to disease and stress. To further hasten electrolyte absorption, glycine is included in the formulation. Research proved that glycine facilitates electrolytes and water absorption in the intestine in the presence of glucose. Product Benefits: - FAST ACTING FORMULA (formulated with the ideal electrolyte-sugar-amino acid combination that guarantees immediate water and electrolyte absorption; fast rehydration is very essential due to the athletic nature of fighting cocks) - LOADED WITH ANTI-STRESS AND SUPPORTIVE VITAMINS (high doses of fat soluble and water soluble vitamins are included in the formula; these are essential for the maintenance of normal body functions and energy production needed by the highly active lifestyle and strenuous training of fighting cocks ) - ASSURED SAFETY (manufactured under ISO 9001:2000 and GMP compliant processes - our guarantee of world class quality standards) Technical Information: Each kilogram contains: Sodium chloride, 99,890 mg Sodium citrate, 85,793 mg Calcium gluconate, 18, 921 mg Magnesium gluconate, 10, 044 mg Potassium chloride, 6, 564 mg Dextrose, 200,000 mg Glycine, 70,000 mg Vitamin A, 11,000,000 IU Vitamin D3, 2,500,00 IU Vitamin E, 3,500 IU Vitamin K, 3,500 IU Vitamin B2, 3,000 mg Vitamin B6, 3,300 mg Vitamin B12, 19,800 mcg Niacin, 17,600 mg Pantothenic acid, 12,100 mg FORMAT: Soluble Powder INDICATION: THUNDERBIRD ELECTROGEN D+ combines all the vitamins, electrolytes and dextrose needed by highly active and athletic fighting cocks, supporting energy production, agility and alertness during conditioning and actual fights. Help me raise 1 million chickens! http://farmmarketingsolutions.com/grow-more-chickens See the videos for every week: http://farmmarketingsolutions.com/raising-chickens-for-meat Books and resources mentioned in this video: http://farmmarketingsolutions.com/store This week we talk about feeding chickens on pasture and what some of the variables are. It can be as easy as buying a bag of feed from the local feed store or as complicated as mixing your own feed ration. Getting started with broiler chickens is easy. Feed, water, fresh air, and proper temperature and protection from the elements. After that you can get as scientific as you want. Me personally, I love the science behind it all and I feel like even after years of growing broilers I still learn something new every day. At the end of it you just have to have fun and enjoy what you do in life. Farming and agriculture can bring you some of the most rewarding moments that you will ever experience. In this video, VINS Wildlife Services staff members tube-feed a double-crested cormorant a fish slurry, and give the bird an injection of Vitamin K for internal bleeding. The bird was found injured in a road in Springfield, VT and is recovering from his injuries at the Vermont Institute of Natural Science (VINS; Quechee, VT). To read more about the plight of this cormorant and to read about other birds in our care, visit our blog at http://vtnature.blogspot.com/. RACING PIGEONS AND THE PEANUT

04:36
PIGEONS AND THE ROASTED PEANUT. NOT THE RAW PEANUTS. YOU CAN FEED PEANUTS. CHANNEL: https://www.youtube.com/c/Dannyracingpigeons RACING PIGEONS AND THE PEANUT Adding brewers to pigeon feed.راسينغ، البيجيون، أيضا، ال التعريف، بيانوت Vitamin B12 is low or even absent in most plant foods. The most popular and effective form of supplementation is with yeast, such as Baker’s or Brewer’s yeast. Another source is inactivated yeast supplements such as the Australian Pigeon Company’s ID Yeast. All yeast contains not only Vitamin B12 but also additional micronutrients. And birds love the taste. RACING PIGEONS AND THE PEANUT Another required supplement is Vitamin A, which is found in greens, such as silverbeet, spinach, and carrots. Pigeons love a plate of mixed chopped greens and diced carrots. Vitamin A can also be provided with diluted carrot juice. Vitamin A in the plant form carries no risk of toxicity as it is technically beta-carotene, the natural precursor to Vitamin A. RACING PIGEONS AND PEANUTS Cod liver oil is also a good source but it does contain gizzerine, which is associated with the development of stomach ulcers. Also, cod liver oil will rapidly become rancid if exposed to the sunlight. Rancid oil can lead to a Vitamin E deficiency. Riboflavin needs to be added to the diet and this is also found in yeast. Yeast supplementation is recommended by incorporating an inactivated, or sterile, dry yeast, such as ID Yeast, after pre-moistening the seed with seed oil. The dry yeast adheres to the seed and is easily consumed. RACING PIGEONS AND BREWERS YEAST RACING PIGEONS AND THE PEANUT Also found in yeast is the vitamin, niacin. Niacin is also in sunflower seeds, however, sunflower seeds, unless purchased from a reliable source and stored properly, is easily contaminated with an unhealthy fungus. Supplementation of folic acid is necessary. Folic acid is found in yeast products and wheat germ or wheat germ oil. Wheat germ is often the base of the better conditioning oils such as Polyseed Oil. . RACING PIGEONS AND PEANUTS Vitamin K is actually two—Vitamin K1 found in green, leafy vegetables and Vitamin K2, produced by the normal bacteria in the bowel. Both need to be supplement. K2 levels can become deficient with antibiotic use or if the birds are not allowed to eat their own droppings. Racing pigeons եւ գետնանուշ The final vitamin needed to be supplemented is Vitamin E. रेसिंग डोंगी और मूंगफली A good source of Vitamin E is vegetable oils. Amino Acids Racing pigeons AT ANG PEANUT 赛鸽和爱人 Supplementation of the amino acids lysine, methionine, and trytophane are necessary. All of these are found in yeast products and wheat germ oil. Lysine is also found in legumes such as peas. If your feed mix is comprised of 30% or more of peas, then lysine deficiency is not a concern. 賽鴿和愛人 Calcium is a necessary addition and can be found in a range of soft grits such as cuttle fish, sea shells and calcite. Always have a blended soft grit and pink mineral mix available to the racing pigeons. RACING PIGEONS AND BREWERS YEAST Sodium, an ingredient of salt, must be added. Sodium is also found in some grits and pink minerals. If fed grain only, pigeons will ‘crave’ salt and eat sodium-containing supplements voraciously, putting themselves as risk for dehydration if there is no free water available. Pigeons AGUS AN PEANUT RÁSAÍOCHT Make salt a part of the optimal diet for racing pigeons. A good amount is about 0.1% of the total diet. These are the amounts in the better brands of pink mineral. PVM Powder is a good source of salt, containing 11 grams per one kilogram. The additional minerals you need to add are manganese, copper, zinc and selenium. These are all found in yeast products. The amount of iodine available in the seed mix varies, depending on the amount in the soil in which the seed was grown. Additional iodine can be found in yeast and in water supplementation. For water supplementation, Lugol’s Iodine is recommended. Using Lugol’s Iodine, make a concentrated solution of 2 ml. of iodine to 30 ml of water. Then add four drops of this concentrated solution to each liter of drinking water. In the third and final part of this series on nutrition, we will look at additional nutritional considerations. A diet recipe is also provided by Dr. Colin Walker. The novice must realize at the outset that young racing pigeons which do not leave the nest properly reared are a waste of time and effort. There is a lot of truth in the old saying that most of the long hard races are won or lost in the nest, and the beginner should do his best to ensure that his squeakers are a sound and healthy lot. Youngsters which leave the nest in poor feather and weed body, . Cayenne Pepper Health Benefits - Mom Prepares

03:25
http://www.youtube.com/subscription_center?add_user=MomPrepares What is cayenne pepper? Also known as the African red pepper, American red pepper, Spanish pepper, bird pepper, or Guinea pepper - It is a red pepper that grows as a perennial in tropical areas. It is well known in in a ground up form as a powdered spice used with many foods. It is not chili powder, red chile powder, paprika, or red pepper flakes. Cayenne pepper is different from those spices and has many health benefits. Turns out that cayenne pepper has many health benefits, but use it in moderation and with caution. The seeds of a cayenne pepper can be toxic and excess amounts can lead to serious problems. If you are on regular medication or supplements make sure to talk to your doctor before using cayenne. It is very high in vitamins A, the B vitamin complex, vitamin C, calcium, vitamin K, niaicin, iron, and the minerals potassium and manganese. Cayenne pepper has been used for heartburn, delirium, tremors, gout, paralysis, fever, dyspepsia, flatulence, sore throat, hemorrhoids, nausea, tonsillitis, scarlet fever and diphtheria. It can help heal ulcers, remove plaque from arteries, stop migraines, rebuild the flesh harmed by frostbite and warm the entire body. It is also a catalyst used in other herbal formulas. The high amount of potassium is very beneficial for heart health. Dr. John Christopher, a famous herbalist, said that he could stop a heart attack if he could get the patient to drink a glass of warm cayenne pepper water because the cayenne immediately equalizes the blood pressure and feeds the heart with the nutrients it needs to function properly. Oxford Polytechnic Institute in England did experiments that showed by adding 1 tsp of red pepper sauce and 1 tsp of mustard to meals you can increase your metabolism by as much as 25% . Increased metabolism can help reduce weight. You don't even have to ingest cayenne pepper to get benefits from it. Its active component is capsaicin, which gives the pepper its heat. By putting it on topically the capsaicin helps release more neurotransmitters which inhibit the pain nerves for a little while. This can help with rheumatoid arthritis pain, muscle pain from fibromyalgia, and nerve pain from shingles. The capsaicin in cayenne peppers helps clear mucus and congested lungs. But be careful because it is also the main ingredient in pepper spray. A hot cayenne pepper tea during cold and flu season works faster than many cold remedies in relieving congestion and stuffiness. Gargling with cayenne pepper in the water can help sore throats and strep throat. it can also helps prevent tooth and gum diseases. The Loma Linda University in CA showed that cayenne might help prevent lung cancer in smokers, Here are some other ways to add a bit of cayenne to your diet. Cayenne goes well with vegetable sautes and canned vegetables. Keep some handy with your black pepper so you can add a bit to any meal. Try a pinch in hot cocoa Add it with lemon juice to collards, kale, mustard green and other bitter greens. Don't put cayenne pepper in freezer meals until you are ready to serve them. The cayenne will become too spicy and overpower the food if it is in the dish for a while. This is just a quick touch on the health benefits of cayenne pepper. Let's get together online! Unfortunately, nutrient deficiency can occur if we are not getting enough of these nutrients to meet the needs of our body and lifestyle. One very important nutrient for our overall health is vitamin C, as it can play a vital role in fighting against unwanted disease and boost our immunity. Vitamin C also works as a powerful antioxidant that can eliminate and protect our body from damaging free radicals and oxidative stress. This vitamin can also provide numerous health benefits for those who consume it. In addition to boosting our immunity and fighting disease, it can promote the health of our cardiovascular system, boost cognitive function, reduce inflammation, prevent and reduce muscle soreness and promote the health of our bones and eyes. Be sure to discuss with your medical practitioner to see how much vitamin C you should be getting per day to meet your own body and lifestyle needs. Now, lets discuss some foods that are high in vitamin C. 1. First, broccoli is an incredibly healthy vegetable that can promote our health many different ways. It is packed with many different nutrients, including high levels of vitamin C. In just a one-half serving, raw broccoli contains 42mg’s of vitamin C, which is about 67% of the daily recommended value. 2. Surprising to some, but red peppers are an incredible source of vitamin C. Red peppers have long been used to boost our immunity and prevent disease. In just a one cup serving of raw red peppers, there is 190mg of vitamin C, or over 315% of the daily recommended value. 3. Well known for their sweet and delicious taste, oranges are a popular choice for those individuals looking to increase their intake of vitamin C. This popular citrus fruit is loaded with vitamin C, with one large orange containing about 80mg’s of this important vitamin. This works our to be about 160% of the daily recommended value. 4. Not quite as popular as oranges, guava is gaining popularity around the world due to its excellent source of important vitamins and minerals. Not only can it promote our healthy many ways, but it is also a vitamin C powerhouse. In fact, it has one of the highest concentrations of vitamin C out of any other food choice. Just one guava contains about 375mg’s of vitamin C, or about 625% of the daily recommended value of this nutrient. 5. Another vegetable choice that is high in vitamin C is kale. Kale is well known for having many health promoting abilities and for being very high in many different nutrients. Specifically, it is well known for its high levels of vitamin K and A, but is also very high in vitamin C content. In just one cup of raw kale, there is about 80mg’s or 134% of the daily recommended value of vitamin C. 6. Lastly, another great food choice that is high in vitamin C is kiwi. Although smaller in size, kiwi is extremely high in vitamin C, and can help to boost our immunity and inflammation. In just one kiwi, there is about 165mg’s of vitamin C, which is equivalent to about 275% of the daily recommended value. Thank you for watching the video! Please like, comment and share.
