Trimble Earthworks + Engcon Tiltrotator Precision Grading

Оценок: 1660 | Просмотров: 307253
Using the John Deere 200lc with Trimble Earthworks and the Engcon EC226 tiltrotator to grade out a garage floor at a 1% pitch. These two systems working together is unreal. Almost no hand work to be done! Like what you see? when swing is operating, is the boom automatically being controlled to regulate bucket tip height?

That is bad ass. I’m all tensed up in my chair watching. Good work

When I worked on building sites we did that job with a shovel, and a damned sight more quickly. And nobody stood around watching either! Digger operators do differ.I could work near the bucket with one of the men,but I wouldn't get into the trench with one of the other chaps at the controls. Only fast reactions prevented me getting my head smashed on one occasion was enough for me! The dipper swung around too fast and I hit the ground just in time,I dived flat and that saved my life.

You have adopted the Swedish way of using an excavator. Now you should start looking at making the wheelloader more "swedish" im thinking GPS for the loader and a bm adapter so you can change from buckets to forks etc. Great driving also!

This has been standard in Sweden like 10 years , but from what i read in comments is like its something very uncommon in US ? I mean using a engcon/ steelwrist whatever brand of tiltrotors? . Iam an excavator operator myself and there is like ZERO machines here without it.

I have a question about engcon joysticks. Could it have been possible to use unused buttons to control the Trimble rather than using external buttons.

I'd like to see the gains this machine could make in digging the hole in the first place. But a stone slinger with a good operator would make this look even easier. Imo

I was just wondering? I have seen that other guy that likes Volvo. And this young man seems to like cat. And with all the brands to choose from witch one will last the best under hard hours? I mean as for as purchase price and repair price ? After say 5000 hours if that's alot for these machines. With all the same set ups. What would list the longest with lots of hard hours?? Thanks
Sherman Brown (1 месяц назад)
How big is your operation? If you aren't big enough to get corporate recognition from the company you are buying from, then I would just focus on the local dealer. Even if you buy the best machine on the market, but your local dealer is a pain in the ass, it will be horrible. And all equipment is pretty good nowadays if you are buying new, usually there aren't that many differences between them in performance.
Sans Decorum (3 месяца назад)
Cool technology on tap for sure. But after watching the guy use an older excavator to stack beer bottles and top them with a golf ball; personally, I wouldn't be too concerned. Always enjoy watching someone with serious skills. Practice makes......well, near perfect anyway.

So I’m also a job foreman for the family company. Looks like you and I have a similar job role. My dad and I have discussed the engcon and Trimble system. I’d even by happy with just the Trimble system. It looks so much more efficient than a laser and a guy walking around with a grade stick and the engcon looks incredibly handy. Looks like it saves you A LOT of tracking around. Very cool

Hey Tom sorry to keep buggin you with questions but I’ve been watching your videos trying to answer my question but I can’t find what I’m looking for. We got a new cat 325f with the Trimble TD520 installed. For some reason it is reading the laser but not accepting it. The cat tech been down 3 days in row now and we’ve gotten no where. When it dectects the laser strike it beeps but the icon on the display doesn’t light up to accept laser strike or decline it. (Doesn’t matter if in auto accept mode or not). Is the icon suppose to light up or do something when it detects laser strike?? Thanks

Raizen T3000 (5 месяцев назад)
Yoshh hello aloha iaorana! I do not call it precision! in addition you are well equipped with good equipment trimble GPS and with a bucket engcon tiltrotator. You are still far to reach a good level you lack experience, fortunately there are people with shovels and rakes to finish the corners and edges. You know with a good level of experience we need nobody even to finish. So finally everyone to that way of working and doing a nice job.
Kepuuu (5 месяцев назад)
Ive said this before and will say again. You need to use the buckets straight section on the back as a guide when leveling. Saves the machine and works way better than scraping with the lip.
Kepuuu (5 месяцев назад)
Gerard Braam Yes it does but does not affect when bucket is that small and the excavator is decent sized. I personally only spread material with the lip roughly and level it off with the buckets flat back against surface, like everyone else here in Finland.
Gerard Braam (5 месяцев назад)
Straight section has more resistance i guess?

For a small landscaping company that puts about 100 hours on their mini ex per year setting steps, boulders, excavating, and grading etc would you recommend a Trimble system or tilt rotator for it? Could that system pay for itself or be worth it since we only use it 100hrs out of the year? Thanks for another great video👍
derKarl (4 месяца назад)
the trimble system (with laser) works perfectly for complete projects from start to finish... starting from the layout at first (grade check) going on to excavation as well as working with filling materials like gravel and sand... land scaping work as well as stone walls and ditches/drainage trenches... there are tilt rotators for mini excavators as well but they cost nearly the same as the big ones... so it is way more cost effective to get the trimble system at first because if you have a laser you connect it with you can use the laser for all the other surrounding works as well... the tilt rotator system makes sense when you do a lot of work with pipes and sewers... because then you can work around those things without repositioning the machine (the smaller machines lose a a bit more lifting capacity compared to the big ones when you scale those units up) I am with the Ninja... if possible... get the trimble system first and then once you are used to it think about maybe getting the tilt rotator as well... perhaps with a larger machine
Dirt Ninja (5 месяцев назад)
Yes, get the trimble system first. I think that is a better and cheaper investment at first. Once you learn what it can do you will probably start to use the machine more and more as well.

Its fun watching your learning curve with the engcon. You're clearly a talented operator and the tilt rotator bucket is clearly a difficult thing to master since there is so much going on at once. Keep it up and you'll be as good as Duckgirl :P

Forgive me if this is a stupid question (im not a heavy equipment operator). Is there a button that locks the buckets elevation once you start sweeping the boom or is it just pure skill that you maintain the controls so good? Its incredible to me how accurate you are in such detail work with that big excavator.
Joel (4 месяца назад)
That's cheating! XD

Awesome work, up to the 5 minute mark when, as I cringed, your colleagues started walking and more importantly working under a working excavator boom. Work practices differ ofcourse, maybe I'm just too safety concious, after all I'm not an excavator operator myself. I have however had to take care of someone who got partly crushed between a bucket and the machine after it's operator had a heart attack at an inopportune moment (although, lets face it those all occur at inopportune moments). Let me be clear though, I am not faulting you, your work or your work safety, merely got me to cringe from personal experiences.
Declan kot (3 месяца назад)
you're more likely to get struck by lightning, than an operator like him, hitting someone
roger cask (4 месяца назад)
Dirt Ninja being a 360 driver myself I could see you were working safe. The bucket looks real close to the guys but the camera puts it out of perspective so I can understand the other people's comments. Rest assured people the driver was in full control.

Mr.Boots The whole OH&S is catching up to the entire industry. In Canada we need work procedures right down to ladder use. No everyone complies, but just a matter of time.
Mr.Boots (5 месяцев назад)
In ireland for start no hi-vis vest, hard hat or boots dont come on site and you would be ran it you were in between moving bucket no matter how good of a driver they are If a health and safety inspector saw it happen they would shut the whole site down too many death and injury claims Not say your a bad/unsafe driver or anything just regulation here
