That is the same as a person who has been born with animea low sugar in the blood with mean the person has to take in sugar to bring their levels up or they can go into confussion. . it can cause the person loose their energy .T o keep the person from being felt drain sugar would be given to that person. levels under 98 is not a good reading if it continue to drop the person can slip in to a some what comma possibility to die.

Hmm... what about people like me... you break your back... then dr.s treat you for 20 with heavy opiates... then your medical insurance drops off for a month, your in a shit ton of pain... yet the opiates do not always work the best... so you take more than is prescribed.... yet they lower your dose one month just to count your pills and when there off by a couple you get tossed onto a suboxone program and then your looked at as an addict... So lesson to all you guys that like to snowboard and ride mx bikes.... be careful.. cause if you break your back you'll never get it back... you'll be in a little to a lot of pain... and if your not exactly on your count your thrown into the same boat the addicts are in.. when your in pain.. you will break their pain contracts sooner or later... and they will treat you like an addict. I wish Noone would get hooked on hard opiates... It makes us people on them instant addicts and criminals. But what some don't realize is people do not like pain.. we are pre programed to move away from it.. take this pill and it will all go away.. well.. there's a crisis cause the government wants one and the only people that will stand up for opiates are drs. And pain patients... if your a street addict... thank our government... cause you cannot manufacture fenthnol and you can't grow poppies except in the Ozarks... the government dictates how drugs get here and what drugs get in.. and they listen... supply and demand.. but no one anticipated this...

The beginning statements about dopamine are totally false. Dopamine does not make u feel better. They have proved this again and again. . They actually teach this now at the state IDRC centers for DUI treatment in the state of New Jersey. Dopamine only carries a message to your brain receptors, simply stating “ hey this will make you feel really good.” It plays no actual role in the area of euphoria itself. Say to someone who has a drug problem. Walmart is giving away free ipods and this person sees the sign at the mall about walmart giving away the free ipods. He just happens to be at the mall that day where they have a walmart across the street. Now Dopamine and “that message being flashed to your brains ability to think before one acts” yeah that, dopamine aka message, overrides the system completely causing that message to go before all other messages and cause you not think how you normally would. Now someone who does drugs over a period of time learns that this message being flashed is the be all end all message. My point is that dopamine is just a message. Can you think, before and after. I bet it comes down to ones ability to rationalize.

When countries legalize drugs, addictions rates go down. We must fight addiction with education. In the 1980s, Switzerland experienced a public health crisis related to heroin use... Instead of criminally prosecuting these heroin users, the Swiss authorities tried “Harm Reduction,” which included free heroin maintenance clinics that were opened to addicts where they were treated, and stabilized. Addicts were given free, high quality heroin, clean needles, access to safe injection rooms, showers, beds, and medical supervision. Social workers helped them deal with issues in their lives and helped them find housing. The results were a success beyond imagination....Today over 70 percent of all heroin addicts in Switzerland receive treatment... https://www.theodysseyonline.com/why-all-drugs-should-be-legalized-for-adults-18-and-older
Aliza Bianchi (8 месяцев назад)
KingJustice98 Just because it'd be an up hill battle, doesn't mean its not the right thing to do. If our country legalized drugs, then they'd be FDA approved so people would know what they were getting, resulting in less overdoses and the government could tax it, helping relieve our national debt. Where there is a demand there is a supply. Addicts will always seek substances, therefore people will always supply them. There is no end to the war on drugs.
Aliza Bianchi (8 месяцев назад)
Diandre Miller Thank you for posting an educated comment! I wish the US copied the Swiss. Or the Portuguese for that matter. Decriminalizing drugs made a huge impact on Portugal.
KingJustice98 (1 год назад)
Diandre Miller Will never happen, ever. Singapore, Iceland present major arguments against your logic. They have extremely low crime rates, and very strict drug laws. As for legalization, congress, the president, and especially the judicial branch would NEVER allow all drugs to be legalized. You have lawsuits from healthcare companies, patients, insurance companies. Entire drug regulations would have to be re-written, other countries would block medications from being imported. The list goes on and on. The Republicans and Democrats will never let it happen, they are full of lawyers and would laugh at the very thought of legalization of all drugs.

This is ridiculous, if you think about it the nerve impulses the synapses, and the Dopamine , in your brain don't get bigger, so who cares if one opioid receptor gets triggered, there's still millions more in your body. Please, please don't pander into this crap about addiction. Sure there are people who are addicted in this world, but human morals are stronger than drugs, and if you don't believe me, which you don't have to, please follow the science and statistics, and don't let your mind be prisoner, to the thought the a simple chemical substance is evil, thank you!
andrew wiencken (1 год назад)
Human morals ? verses what ? morals are a persons belief system and if they believe the need dope to feel good then it become their morals , and sure a person might be able to get through the trigger of one opioid receptor but what about when a thousand are triggered?

they mean you can't just stop without any negatives. and honestly if your mentally weak you can't stop either. if quit cigarettes cold turkey twice and it horrible but I said I would do it so I did it. if your a heroine addict it'll take several times. Infact, some become "possessed" their brain takes over bc they need it so much it's as if they are sleep walking. very scary but that's years & years of hard drugs. however we do live in a society now where we are suppose to feel sympathetic to those who do drugs bc "they can't stop" if that's the case then fine but it's almost never the case

There is no “Cure” for the disease of Addiction. It is a mental, physical and spiritual disease. When you stop using drugs or drinking alcohol you cannot start again. If you do it will be like you never stopped and it will get worst. The fatal progression of the addiction disease never stops. It is the only disease that tells you don't have a disease. Total abstinence for the rest of your life is the only way to survive.

How addiction can rewire our brains is really frightening.
White Noise (2 года назад)
Yes it is. It's so much easier to avoid drugs all together.
Libertarian Atheist (3 года назад)
Addiction causes the lower brain or "reptile" part of the brain to become hardwired to seek the drug in  the same way that a persons struggles to come to the surface of water when they are out of breath or to seek out food when hungry or to move your hand from a hot surface.  It has nothing to do with the thinking parts of the brain or most people could set it down.  I cannot speak for some addictions but as far as "the real thing" goes, in all seriousness, even after withdrawal it is literally like grieving for a lost loved one.

Dylanbingham...not true...substances like opiates and nicotine ABSOLUTELY do "grow receptors" in brain and the longer the usage the more receptors they grow makin it harder n harder to stop use.but yes in fact they ABSOLUTELY do "grow receptors" now not all subtances do but lotta drugs do nicotine perfe t example
fishncapt26 (3 года назад)
Ok its not quite this simple.cause in addition substances like opiates and nocotine grow own receptors in brain so even if got dopamine required in abundance youd still suffer addiction/withdawl without the opiate or nicotine etc regardless of how much dopamine u had flowin thru brain...if was this simple then addiction would be easy as pie to cure all wed have to do is give a nonnarcitic med that jqcked up the hell outta dopamine production!! And poof! Addictiond be cured, so its oversimplifying and being misused, the important thing to take from this vids data is that addicts are not.just choosin or want to be on drug theres a bio physical literal very real shit goin down and actual physical brain need for it and it aint matter of just happy or depressed the lack of drug dont just make addict sad or depressed or lack of joy.if that was all addicts would all be clean lol but imqgine the most pain youve ever had bein in whole.body from head to.toe to back to u name it and then add worst miserable flu and food poisoning youve ever hqd sickness and pain severe severe sickness and pain not sadness or lack of joy is what addict in withdrawl experiences.there shouldnt be anything but compassion for addicts and this vid is showin u its much much more then just the user bein selfish stubbornand enjoying bein high, addicts dont use to get hi or for pleasure or cause feels good, they use so do not SUFFER IN PAIN AND HORRIFIC SICKNESS if u were in bed in pain sick pukin and spraying mud out ass worst vomit n diafreah your entire life and absolute agany for month without something youd not stop takin it either. So have compassi n not disdain for addicts it isnt a choice for.them to use anymore then its choice for.fags to want to suck dick. Its in their bio physical brain and they sickand in horrible.pain and illness for.very very very long time when do not have opiates or whatever addictex to

How to solve American drug addiction: clean up politics and solve poverty. As a society there's no other way. For individuals, I highly recommend looking at some of the fantastic spiritual teachers on youtube who understand the science but also understand people and desire to help you grow, like I'll mention Teal Swan and Infinite Waters. Every person is good intentioned, and every person deserves respect. Peace!
Carlos Castanheiro (6 месяцев назад)
We can't solve individual problems, that's up to each individual, its their own spiritual journey. Best to let it go and accept it, help those that want your help. But if you ask me, the solution lies in information. A well informed teenager will steer away from drugs,if that's his spiritual path. I just let it go, let God. I do think that if all drugs were legal or decriminalized, most humans would self destruct, but i agree it would be better, i just don't think people are ready for it. Even adults act like children. One day the problem will solve itself... When people grow and evolve. Let it go.
Joanna Herring (1 год назад)
Your answer is too simple as well. I agree that the War on Drugs is wasteful and a failure, and has manifested as a War on the Poor and the Minorities. Users should not be treated as the criminals, the manufacturers and suppliers (maybe of some, but not all, drugs) But treatment also often fails. And blanket decriminalization of all drugs also has it's pitfalls. I'm all for the decriminalization of marijuana, which is far less dangerous than alcohol, although I don't use it, hated the effects when I tried it in my youth, have loved ones who have wasted their lives to it, and can't even stand the smell of it. There is some new research that suggests that having a sucky, painful life with no hope (more often felt by those in poverty and affected by discrimination of any kind) are more likely to begin to use drugs at an earlier age, which is more likely to lead to continued use and addiction. These people are also less likely to have the support or resources to beat addictions once they take hold. No amount of treatment can overcome the despair of poverty, the hopelessness of being the target discrimination, or the lack of opportunity for a better than completely sucky life.

Not that simple.and.drug use or addiction is NOT a class or poverty thing the only reason it appears so to the ignorant is their unaware those with money simply go to.dr and get prozac zanax pain meds hatever need. The poor.do not.cannot.afford.dr.let alone meds even if got em from dr! But the wealthy class of americans under fifty.five do as much drugs as the poor do. It aint about money. The only.cure for drug epidemic is to stop war on drugs decriminalize and for.fraction the cost offer treatment instead of prison thats it.period. thats the only cure and.only correct sane intelligent course of action stop the failed prohibition war on american familys aka war on drugs that makes usa by far the most inprisoned population in world presently and only destroys familys.ends lives and makes.cops prisons courrts.cops n crooks n gangs rich. Even jellyfish have opiate and cannabinoid receptors its odd cause its not a accident that every thing has a cannabis or opiiod receptor it couldnt of magically appeared clearly god put it there for reason...why? So that we could benefit from god given medical miracle cures and treatment like cannabis and opiates.instead of cherishing and using these god given miracle cure alls we have allowed greed of law enforcement legal system to lrofit from and lie to us about these god given miracle cure alls and tell us they are bad evil drugs lol uh no. What god made is not a drug god says in bible "I have given you ALL seed bearing plants and herbs to use" the bible did NOT say "I have given you all...except cannabis and opiates" lol drugs are made by criminal gangs out of chemicals concocted in bath tubs if god made it its a gift not a drug and no man and no government has right to keep us from gods miracle gifts.but youre cmnt bout the addictive genes not correct however we all animals all way down to jellyfish do have an opiod and.cannabis receptor, whi hs mindblowing because that key to fit lock in brains receptor just right for opiods or cannabis in brain is an impossibility to of simply evolved there on its own. Lets face it jellyfish and animals never had chance to eat or smoke hemp...so...where then did the cannabis receptor come from in animal life?? Duh lol god put it there...and did so for a reason. All he had do is not put opiod or cannabis receptors in brain and these substances would be useless lol

come on! you're relating to the brain as a cucumber? I think the brain is a little, or A LOT more complex then that! Unless you have a Ph.d. in neuroscience, you shouldn't really be commenting on it, let alone using a blog as your base of evidence :-)
Joanna Herring (1 год назад)
My favorite analogy to describe this purely scientific, physiological, and chemical phenomenon is this: once a cucumber becomes a pickle, it cannot be transformed back into a cucumber. The longer the cucumber stays in the pickle juice, the more pickled it becomes. That does not mean that an addict cannot be abstinent and in recovery for the rest of their lives and become very mentally healthy. It means they do not become less pickled over time - they must be vigilant, manage their behavior, and keep making progress in their recovery to avoid backsliding. They aren't going to change back into a cucumber no matter how many decades they are abstinent, and they certainly cannot go back into the pickle juice without becoming more pickled. "The point that I am trying to make is that addiction is a definite physiological phenomenon, just like diabetes or other chronic illnesses and either you have it or you don’t. It affects about 10 percent of the population and that is that. If you have the genetic predisposition, you can either abstain from addictive substances or not. If, however, your brain has the dopamine dysregulation of an addicted individual, then addictive substances are not something that you should try to use recreationally. In my experience of working with addicts, trying other addictive substances turns out badly and leads people back to their drug of choice." https://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/where-addiction-meets-your-brain/201406/once-pickle-never-cucumber

There are pharmacological therapies that works really well for the "physical" side of the addiction. One of this is called Baclofen and can be prescribed by any Dr as an "off-label" drug. Is used from the 70s to treat muscular spams. Baclofen suppress the alcohol and cocaine craving. You will have to follow a specific protocol for few months and then you simply will not have any need of alcohol anymore. Obviously require the will of put an end of your addiction and a full adherence to the prescribed doses. Check more info on the web/forums: Baclofen & addiction. Not recommended at all to order online! +pinxxpose I'm sorry my reply took so long bro, I hadn't noticed!! One year has passed since your publication, and I still don't think I've changed that much. You definitely NEED some support. Mine right now is my parents; luckily I can count on them and they are really encouraging. You need a beacon, an inspiration whoever or whatever the cause may be... If you only do it spontaneously, it can't last much. How are you doing friend? I hope better. Happy holidays man, best wishes for the next year!!!

+pinxxpose  That's why you go to aa/na.Where people have the same issue and understand.

i empathize with you. i have had a relationship with addiction for a long time. and i dont know how the hell to face the prospect of three years. i personally am not surrounded by the best people. the people i have as any so called support...they have only pushed me to the drugs as they are judgemental, suspicious, and without compassion when it comes to the addiction. i def dont feel safe like i can be honest. i feel like id be completely on my own with it and i have never made it too far when ive quit in the past. it sux to try and quit when no one knows whats going on. you live in that little toxic cycle of shame and guilt.

I do believe it is a disease. We can successfully rewire our brains although it is really difficult.

Drug is a substance that can make you feel different or not. And yes alcohol is a drug too but when speaking about drugs and what to do about them, you will always mention it seperate, probably because it is legal.

drug is a substance that u need to take more to realize the same effect and alcohol is one of them.

once addicted always addicted is not true.the battle becomes the same the first moment you take the cigarette or the glass of wine again cos u lost already before u take it.but why take it again when the addiction isnt there any more cos you stopped smoking or drinking for years?

Naw dude you don't create new receptors... your brain just isn't stimulated as much by the dopamine thats why there is less color.

Addiction is a terribly complicated disease. It is indeed a constant battle.
Shelley Lannon (11 месяцев назад)
Hawaii Island Recovery LET me ask you a question! How much does your facility charge addicts to live in a lap of luxary...And does it take medical insurance....Nothing pisses me off more than a "drug rehab", that costs people to take out a second mortgage on their homes....I will be the first person to smoke all your asses and ASSIST THOSE IN NEED FOR A REASONABLE PRICE....If they cannot afford, I will NOT TURN THEM AWAY.....And my place will be gorgeous....Shame on places such as yours, I'm sure....

anton edvardson (5 лет назад)

globe255 (5 лет назад)
