Hes correct --- I was just diagnosed with Chronic Myeloid Leukemia. My white blood cell count was high (51,000) and the Doctors response was to immediately put me on Spyrcel which costs almost $500 per pill. Does anybody have a source for his claim about a low white blood cell count being a good thing? I can't find that anywhere. I'm sure the main concern is WHY it's low. It can get low from bad things, that's for sure.

My dad has been eating beans his whole life and in high quantities and he past away at. 67yrs old from clogged arteries.Remember beans when not cooked are poison to the body and so you have to over cook to the point of mush so you body can even start to digest them and still then you can have upset stomach and gas.
You are right, beans are the most nutritious food. They have ample protein, potassium, magnesium. phosphorus, iron, zinc, copper, manganese, molydenum. This is the best food for a healthy life. They a lot of polyphenols , which are antioxidants. They should be taken with digestive enzymes, which can break the protein molecules into amino acids. The digestive enzymes should have cellulase, hemicellulase and phytase which break down the fiber to make the iron, zinc and other microminerals more absorbable. Spice up the beans with garlic, onions, hot peppers and salt! Dont worry about the lectins. Cooking breaks up the lectin molecules.
Today I am cooking a pot of beans in the crock pot as usual. They last me 3 to 4 days then I repeat the process. Actually today I also have another kind of legume on the stove, double beans, ha! I eat them plain sometimes, make soups and also cool them for salads. I use them for burritos too. Sometimes I go spicy by adding cumin, chili powder, cayenne pepper, nutritional yeast , pepper and onion powder! Delicious and SALT FREE! Yeah you can say I am a bean-a-holic. Very little gas and not to get too graphic but little odor believe it or not. Before I was vegan (7 years ago) I ate a ton of meat and dairy... believe the gas then occurred more frequent and 10X more pungent!! Beans are good for the gut, rotting animal flesh and fermenting cheese, curdling dairy and various other processed foods and chemicals are not! The world is changing as people are waking up. People are walking again, getting off insulin and other drugs for hypertension and just increasing their overall health! It's a revolution! One that I am glad to be a part of and I have high hopes for my meat eating brothers and sisters as I know in my heart time will see them wake up just like I did.

I have made many changes to my diet because of all the wonderful information you and your WFPB diet friends have shared on you tube. Thankyou to all of you for sharing all of your education . You are all a blessing. Ive lost forty pounds in a short time. The problem is my weight loss is slowing down so I am going to replace the rice and breads I have been eating with beans and more veggies. Do you think this will help? I think my problem is too many starches. Whats your thoughts?

Reducing high and medium calorie density foods, like breads and white rices [which are also processed] for medium and low calorie density foods [huge volume of vegetables - thank you frozen section of Costco] and smaller portion of beans as my daily base.

In 2009, at stage 2 pancreatic cancer, my mom's oncologist Keith Justice in St Augustine literally advised a diet of white bread, white potatoes, and no greens in order to alleviate ascites. I was somewhat incredulous then...ok, confusedb since I'd heard sugar feeds tumors; I'm beyond belief now. Let me be clear, he recommended this diet earlier - maybe near diagnosis, and I asked about it when we went for a visit, and he validated the diet.
I respect what he's saying, but during 17:00-18:30, this conclusion about inhibiting blood vessel growth just seems wrong, because don't arteries provide fresh blood, oxygen, and glucose, not blood vessels? Or, does angiogenesis include artery growth?
I forgot the details but it is something to do with prevention of blood vessels going to support a fatty area...and making the heart and circulatory system work harder than it should. I think...don't quote me.
I just love people making videos on medical advice (even call it THE REAL TRUTH) and then immediately give you a 20 page disclaimer how nothing of what they are saying is to be implemented and any damage that results from following their advice is not their problem... I have never heard of diverticulum going away. It's a structural change and once they're there, they're there. What I do know is that with a plant based diet with whole grains like oats; potatoes, beans, berries, seeds, etc. as mentioned, can prevent symptoms and further creation of new diverticula. I have my hand palms orange and I got judged by people around me... I’ve been vegan for 8 months and I still have quite a few problems with gases and inflammation probably to the amount of food.. I guess my body still needs to adapts..? Thank you 🤗

+Barbara Sheehan the problem with statistics is that you need a degree to understand what they really mean...quite literally it's something in the range of being a half a percent to 2 percent more likely for you to develop cancer from eating processed meats vs if you don't but they like to skew those numbers to say your twice as like etc etc..
+Jahdereh 15 processed meats are fairly recent if you want to look at the millions of years humans have been on Earth. The World Health Organization has stated to the public that processed ( cured) meats can cause cancer.

What if the bacterial environment in your colon is skewed towards pathogenic microorganisms that produce toxic excretions. Wont the consumption of the sort of fibers found in beans feed and accelerate their growth? If not, then how can we be sure which bugs you are actually feeding? And why would certain foods feed certain types of bacteria, deemed "beneficial" and not the so-called "pathogenic" ones?
I am not super knowledgeable about the subject or anything, but from what I have heard is that the bacteria compete with each other(I am sure some types probably leave some other types alone or don't harm them or maybe even symbiotic but I know very little about the subject). That is why antibiotics can trigger a C diff overgrowth, because your good bacteria keep C diff bacteria in check but antibiotics can kill off a lot of good bacteria(not that you shouldn't still take antibiotics if you are in true need but I am wary of them unless I get a potentially dangerous infection, in which case they could be a lesser evil).

Beans bloat my stomach up so bad that I look like I'm 9 months pregnant. Even soaking beans overnight and using Gas-X and everything I can think of does nothing to help with what beans do to my system. I can barely eat lentils. I'm a raw vegan 67 years old blood test absolutely perfect, 15 pages including 740 for B12 count out of 800 at the top. I could go on forever but I won't. Oh I'm at the bottom of the BMI scale as well.

Barbara Mowrey I agree. Everyone is different and if some can manage beans and they feel fine then good for them. I’m one to listen to my body and it doesn’t handle beans well. I’m not a vegetarian but have recently started eating a keogenic diet for weight loss and I feel great. No grains of course or legumes. I’m no longer hungry all the time and eat when and how much my body tells me. We might not be on similar diets but I thought I’d just point out that paying attention to your body’s reaction to food is your indicator if you should be eating it or not. The body knows!
