Maria, 13, believed she had a case of head lice, but it turned out to be much more serious. Maria actually has scalp psoriasis that causes her scalp to scale and nothing she’s tried has helped. Dr Pixie sends Maria to a hair specialist to get the scaling and inflammation under control with the help of creams and steamers. After three visits to the hair specialist, Maria comes back to the clinic and shows Dr Pixie her much improved scalp.

I have scalp psoriasis I started off getting a rash on my tummy just before my little brother was born about 2 years ago and then it got worse and when it it started getting all hard and scabby and i got more of it on my body i figured out I had psoriasis because I went to a doctor my older brother also used to have it. I started going to the hospital to get treatment from dermatologists and got cream and even went in a special UV light thingy i only went in once but the creams and things weren't working that well and eventually during summer it went away on it's own (light/sun helps) then I got scalp psoriasis half way through having psoriasis on my body and i got shampoos for that but they didn't work it's been nearly 2 years and my scalp psoriasis still hasn't gone away I don't know what to do everyone says I have dandruff and this other boy who knows what psoriasis is and had it himself and his grandma apparently also had it according to him despite that he still sings "It's beginning to look a little bit flaky" and I even had to sit next to him for a year which was really annoying luckily i'm not in any of his lessons anymore but people still say I have dandruff
