Thanks for taking the time to do this video. Awesome job explaining the details of PDR. Bunch of other videos on YouTube really suck. They show the work but don’t explain the techniques to PDR. Again thanks for the video and for sharing your knowledge!!!
Ben Martin (17 дней назад)
How does the weather effect this process? I live in Texas and it’s always hot here just curious if that changes anything with the paint or metal
Sweet Project Cars (16 дней назад)
Ben Martin you always want to do this in the shade of high heat. as far as the paint and metal we have noticed no difference of course you dont want to do it with a car that has been sitting in the Texas sun for hours...shade is best on hot days :)
Alex Didrickson (17 дней назад)
I found a smaller slide hammer. It made a big difference. Thanks.

Abdi Hassan (24 дня назад)
25 minutes two dents that's crazy I was thinking buying hail damage car hope if there different options
Sweet Project Cars (24 дня назад)
Well it doesn’t all have to be done at one time you could pick away at it if you want to hail damage car and by the time you get into it you’ll get really good at it and get faster and faster
Tonoha Ramones (26 дней назад)
T.Ramones Will this method work on a dented surface that has already been ceramic coated, i.e., will the glue adhere strongly enough to allow the slide hammer to pull the dent out effectively? Or, will it just take longer? Have you already had experience with this situation? Thanks in advance !
Sweet Project Cars (25 дней назад)
We have never had an issue with ceramic coating not allowing the glue to adhere but if you have dents best to pull them out now before you ceramic coat but if you have already ceramic coated there will be no issues
Checkit88tab (27 дней назад)
How does this method work when there is dents around edges?

Thank you very much on all your videos. Very informed easy and cheap way of doing things on the cars that’s what I’ve been searching for .I have bigger dent in my sequoia can I use the slide hammer for that and do you have any videos for bigger dents . Thanks ,
Sweet Project Cars (27 дней назад)
Jay you can use the tools in the tool list for just about any size dent larger dents are almost easier you glue your big tab on in the center do the initial pull and work your way out to each edge of the Dent they take a little bit longer because their larger but you can get it my. Friend

Flemming Sortkjaer (1 месяц назад)
Great videos Mike, thanks a lot. I have a quistion, i tried to pull out a dent on my own car, at the beginning it went well, but when I had to make the last pull, the paint came off ? Do you have an idea why ? Did I pull too many times at the same point (5 times) or could the glue have been too hot?
Sweet Project Cars (1 месяц назад)
Flemming Sortkjaer sometimes and very rarely if you pull too many times in the same spot it will do that, also it depends on the age of the paint and the quality of the paint, also if you let the glue set too long before pulling it will do that, we let it set about 30 seconds to a minute in around 80f degree weather now that the paint is missing you can finish the dent and then use one of our videos on paint correction to make it look new again.

Hey SWP, your link to the kit on amzn pulls up 3 kits. 79, 119 and like 189 bucks. Which of the 3 are you recommending? I was also wondering if u thought the 13.99 "bridge" puller tool was important? Dont matter to me. I'll buy it if necessary. I got plenty of money! A big ol box slap FULL of hundreds! But seriously, I think I remembered you sayin u didn't use it. Last qstn if you can, some of those pads are at h-freight(knock off's?), u think it's unsafe to use those, or just get the right ones from the start? I do have that HF 6" VS for my car from couple yrs ago, I didn't get the 7" polishing tool one that they got though. Might just go ahead n grab that dwlt one you use and be done w it. Man, I see that you guys hear it all the time, but again, thx for all the vids!
Sweet Project Cars (3 месяца назад)
Hello Michael we always say by what you can afford the bridge puller does work and it is a good tool to have so you can learn to use it it comes in handy for smaller dents Again back to the kits Buy the one you can afford and remember you get what you pay for especially with these. Hope this helps

That’s right it is called real time repairs everything we do and every video we shoot is a real live situation that most people run into. you cannot pull a dent unless you have one
Han Solo (3 месяца назад)
By far the most useful PDR tutorial on Youtube. My car is full of dents because I bought it that way at a discount and my second car has been vandalized many times. I only have liability insurance so it won't cover the repairs so I'm really grateful for this. I believe PDR guys around me charge $50+ per dent so it'd probably cost as much as a paint job when it's all said and done. Thanks again for providing such a helpful video, Mike!
Sweet Project Cars (3 месяца назад)
Han Solo great to hear that my friend glad we could help and thank you for your very useful comment :)

I did the method on my MC fuel tank using a square wooden dowel and hot glue...ZERO special tools. It worked just fine on a baseball diameter dent of about 1/8 to 1/4" depth. The tank looks as good as new. Saved 100's of bucks and all the dire warnings from skeptics.

Great videos!! Love the Chip and Scratch repair video. Followed your steps and made REAL progress and learned ALOT. I do have a simple question on this topic. How do you determine the correct "Pull Tab" to use? Size, Shape?
Sweet Project Cars (3 месяца назад)
Hello Brad great question we like to use a pulltab that is as close to the same size as the dent hope this helps have a great day my friend
Chris Bell (3 месяца назад)
Hi Mike, I posted a comment on one of your chip filling/painting videos - I did it but then noticed it seemed to be dented, you kindly replied to confirm it was a dent. So I've had a go at following this to pull it out but it's pulled the stone chip repair out (probably because of all the rubbing alcohol to remove the glue; not a big issue as I can easily fill that again) but I just cannot get the dent out even after about a dozen pulls. It's an Audi bonnet (at the windscreen end) - any ideas or tips for this? Thanks in advance
Sweet Project Cars (3 месяца назад)
Chris Bell it does takes some practice and if you can do that practicing somewhere else on your car or a friends car you will get it down...
Chris Bell (3 месяца назад)
Hi Mike, still not having much luck with this, I think I pulled some areas up which then looked like they had high spots but I found it very hard to see which areas to knock back down. I was worried about making a complete mess so I've refilled the stone chip, wet sanded and buffed back up. The stone chip repair was great (having learnt from my first few attempts)! But I just don't have the confidence to pull a dent above a pre-filled chip and knock the highs down. I don't want to risk pulling the filling out again and having to sand the area again after filling as I think I'll be going through the clear coat. Bit disillusioned with this particular project I'm afraid :( Trouble is it's right in front of my view from the drivers seat so I see it all the time!
Sweet Project Cars (3 месяца назад)
Hello Chris glad to hear from you in situations like this you just have to keep pulling let it set longer and really hammered out also make sure you clean the area real well before you glue your tab so that the glue can really get a good bite let me know how this works

Mike, great video. I've got a couple cars with dents and I am a DIY guy so I'm gonna try to learn what you taught. 1 question: How do you deal with a dent that is not on a flat surface to begin with? I've got an 05 mustang and my door got dinged right where the metal angles just under the window so the dent goes through a straight edge. How hard or easy is it to pull that dent? Regards, Mike.

Luigi Serralde (4 месяца назад)
What's the difference between the pull kit and the gadget if on both of them you had to go back multiple times to get the dent out 🤔🤔
Sweet Project Cars (4 месяца назад)
Luigi it is our preference to the tool that you want to use, 99.9% of all vents need to be pulled multiple times to get them where you want them to be, sometimes you get lucky if you’re good at it and pull them pretty close to level and a little bit higher so that you can tap them down to where you want them to be.
moneypenni1 (4 месяца назад)
Hi Mike, I've looked but I can't find the slide hammer without a 'T' on the end of it. I like the one you're using better, know where I can get one?
moneypenni1 (4 месяца назад)
I"m wondering if you can tell how or better yet, do a vid on how to pull out or fix dents shaped like lines, rather than 'dimple' dents. There are quite a few straight line dents in my JImmy like someone might have hit it with an axe, although they aren't deep, some are probably 4 inches long in a straight line...:-{

moneypenni1 they discontinued the one in the video we now use this kit and it is fantastic for the DIYer http://amzn.to/2EDTSXY

Just used my PDR system today for the first time. Amazingly, most everything you talked about today, I figured out on my own except the 91% alcohol. I was using 70% and having a hard time removing the glue. Also in the right cases, I now get the need for the knock down tool because you might over do the pull a bit etc. I have the bar light so I am going to have to practice with it. Thanks for posting. Just the best! Bought a truck last summer and I kid you not, the truck body was perfect,,,then a dent a week for four weeks. I was so mad. Car door dents from careless people. Biggest thing when doing these dent removals is,,, this takes patience. Yep, can't get in a hurry. Thanks again for this video. It was superbly well delivered!

You are very correct it takes a lot of patients you’ll get to the point to where you’ll be able to pull the dent up high enough that you’re knocked down tool will be able to level it right out very rarely will you get the dent to come out flat and perfect without the knockdown tool but it does happen good job my friend glad to hear you’re digging into it don’t get frustrated have a great day my friend

I see the pullers on Amazon that come in the kits look cheap. what do you recommend someone buy just starting out. A regular dent puller heavy duty with attachments for other things and then buy the adapter for dent tabs separate or what, Thanks
Sweet Project Cars (4 месяца назад)
Physical Starfighter all the tools we use are in the SHOW MORE of the video description this http://amzn.to/2EDTSXY kit cannot be beaten for the money and it works great for just starting out and even for the more advanced PDR person :)
Physical Starfighter (4 месяца назад)
I see all the dent tabs they sell on Amazon are plastic....Can you tell me where to get the metal ones?

Mike, I have an Outback that my wife dented the plastic bumper in pretty good. How do I go about pulling that? It's a front corner.
Sweet Project Cars (4 месяца назад)
Mike you are very welcome and we are glad to have you here with us :)
Mike Bernardino (4 месяца назад)
I'll give it a try thanks! Keep up the great work
Sweet Project Cars (4 месяца назад)
Mike you’ll save yourself a lot of pain and suffering and maybe a little bit difficult at first but it’ll be well worth it is to try to reach out from the backside and push it out or remove the bumper cover to push it out there’s no real easy way from the front to do it without causing more issues hope this helps my friend

Hello I have a small dent in my door with paint chipped off due to someone at the grocery store what do I do???? Will the paint start chipping even more?
Sweet Project Cars (4 месяца назад)
Well you’re caught between a rock and a hard place right now main objective is to get the dent out, now then see our other videos for filling the paint chip to perfection if more paint comes off while removing the dent then so be it as it sometimes happens but you have to get the dent out first, the paint repair videos that we do will show you how to repair that chipped paint thank you for the great question have a great day

A new subscriber here. You are very talented sir and most importantly legit. I am impressed by your knowledge and ways of doing things. Will buy some tools and follow your teachings. My wife car was under a hail storm and got few dents. $1,500 deductibles in our insurance. No way I will be paying that. Thank you!
Sweet Project Cars (5 месяцев назад)
Glad to hear my friend that we can save you a boatload of money you’ll get good at it than you can possibly do it for others and make even more money

Yes the wifie laughed at the bear in the bar joke. The slide hammer you used was not in the PDR kit shown. I have a nice Snap on slide bar; can you attach a PDR end onto it? I Work from my brothers new shop with out a tool man around to auto pilfer my pay.
Sweet Project Cars (5 месяцев назад)
Nugget Hunter thats awesome to hear and it is addictive buying tools and the other good thing is you get better the more you do it:) Hard Knocks is a great teacher lol
Nugget Hunter (5 месяцев назад)
Thanks' for the links; I purchased the PDR kit with the little air bag. I will practice on my truck door that the neighbor backed into in a snow storm; still snowing again tonight, pretty dented and creased up. If I can fix it I will be ready for that easy stuff. Have been watching your stuff and buying more tools, like that sweet buffer and pads. It must be an addiction the tools and to fix it myself. ASE master Tech from the School of Hard Knocks. P.S. Looking at buying an old 2 bay service station that was converted into office space. Looks like all the old lifts and doors are still there but covered up. Raised floors and dropped ceilings. City Owned, I might get it on the cheep.

Nugget Hunter thank you, see this for the tips https://amzn.to/2HJFDm2 and I know what you mean as we had a Snap-On driver come once a month and loved to give you all the tools you needed and really didn't need, it was like Christmas until you saw the payroll deduction lol

Your "How To's" are great for showing in an understandable way how it is done. And very important is you communicte that just about anyone can do it. I have a couple of projects now that I can do, because you showed me how! Thanks!

Sweet Project Cars (5 месяцев назад)
Thank you very much Jay and it’s pretty much the same technique no matter where the dent is it’s just a little trickier in some areas as you’re talking about
