Having used all manner of phones over the past few years, Jon knows a thing or two about a thing or two. Not only is he well-versed in the dark arts of Android vs. iOS, but testing numerous devices have taken him around the block—and back again—bouncing between all big four carriers here in the U.S. Read more: http://bit.ly/1MA0q9k More tech goodness: http://www.technobuffalo.com Our video gear: http://amzn.to/1rKGljv Deals: http://bit.ly/1JMh2qc Follow us! My only question is why would you be on a phone call leaving the house as if you’re going to do that very often are used to carry AT&T and Verizon and this is eight years ago so that I would have one of the two working number where I was and that usually work now I only carry one in happens to be T-Mobile but I’m never leaving my house in talking on the phone for the cut off is an a problem with me

I really need help my parents can’t afford high speed internet and we have the cheapest plan at at&t and my ps4 experience has been horrible and I run about 100kbps on my PS4 and youtube hardly works. Also my apartments only accepts at&t. Please help!

Make thousands if you use Verizon, Sprint or AT&T. (Text: 813-815-4196) or (hackerjohnson550@gmail.com)

I worked for AT&T in the 1970s-1990s, so I had a preference for them. I know the AT&T today is not the "Ma Bell" I worked for then. For some reason AT&T changed their signal strength, repointed their antennas, or sold a critical Cell Tower that caused us to not be able to make/receive voice calls inside our houe. Text worked. Data, no too. Tried to get AT&T to enable WiFi calling on my OnePlus One phone = no. Borrowed a friends MicroCell = no, AT&T was discontinuing them. So after months of chatting on their Tech Support and waiting on unfulfilled promises that their Network Operations group would address this issue, we switched to Verizon and we have 3 bars of Voice/Text/Data inside our house. Our OnePlus phones were GSM so we had to deal with new phones. Loved our OnePlus Ones, great phones. So we decided if we were going to have to purchase new phones we wanted universal phones that would work with any carrier - ah ha we learned its Multi-mode and Unlocked. During all this "turmoil", we learn about MVNO's - its nice to have knowledge rather than submitting to phone store offers. So we now get our Verizon service but through a MVNO at much less cost. Its convoluted this cellphone muddle, but I highly recommend you understand it all and save a lot of money. As a side note, I also recommend if you have a PC to spend some time learning about Linux and divorce yourself from Microsoft bondage. Both MVNO's and Linux are time well spent.

Tello's a great company, Highly recommended, here's my referall code:P34S934J .Plans start at $5. If you join with this code, you get $10 off your first order!

Isn't the advantage of an unlocked phone that it doesn't have the carrier's proprietary garbage on it

Data speeds are faster depending on carriers. Where you live etc.... Sprint seems the fastest as long LTE coverage available. All your choices were basically the same. Merger blocked AT&T coverage areas. AT&T wants to have full coverage areas cut off switches. To all other carriers greedy bastards!

Can prepaid numbers be transferred between carriers? Here lately version unlimited has been a nightmare about signal to the point it's staying at 1X a good part of the day

Interesting. Verizon is the only service that actually works inside my house. Sprint couldn't stop dropping calls, T- mobile huh, a friend of mine called me from jail and I never got a ring, Verizon I can watch 720p in house. I even nicknamed my area "the dead zone."
Daniel Hill (3 месяца назад)
... And every month with T-mobile there was always 97-200 bucks of overages I had to always dispute. Pain in the ass.

I’ve been with T-mobile for about 18yrs. I do have the issue with buildings, but only if it’s solid concrete buildings. Wifi calling works awesome for me. It use work even if I turned off the cell antenna and have wifi going, but t-mobile did something to disable that. when am out of the country, i only use wifi calling and don’t get charged at all for international rates. I found that wifi calling works better on none t-mobile branded phones. Am currently in a hotel, and my t-mobile service sucks for data, but works well for calls in the rooms. I hope they fix that soon.

Wow I'd either move to another house or stay with at&t I've been with Verizon for about 6 years and their coverage Is AMAZING and even spots where it worked not so well years ago it works great now I get coverage EVERYWHERE if you can't get Verizon somewhere that's a big problem

Sprint has gotten much better lately plus they will give you a free mini cell tower if you get low signal. I LOVE SPRINT!!

Nearly 3 years later, and a different city (San Francisco here), and I had the same experience you had: I've been on AT&T for years. Reception in my apartment has historically been very bad (to the point that I could never make/receive a call or text in my apartment, had to keep a land line, etc). Then, at some unspecified point over the past year or so, it got better (perfectly acceptable, even). But I was getting a new phone last week, and I thought it might be a good time to change up. I'd always heard that Verizon was just BETTER: Better reception, faster data, etc. I was wooed by the idea of better reception in my apartment (because of CDMA networks' reputation for being able to penetrate buildings more efficiently), and they had a great deal going for the S9+, so I bit. And much to my surprise (and dismay), Verizon's reception in my apartment is WORSE than AT&T's was way back in the day! I get, like, NO service AT ALL at home! I DID NOT expect that. I thought it'd be AT LEAST as good as AT&T, but it was like NIGHT & friggin' DAY! Same thing at the office: At my desk, I get, like, 1 bar (that tiny little dot). It strikes me as unacceptable. The data, when I can get it, IS fast, but what's that worth if you can't get a connection? I think I'm going to have to return this phone, and go back to AT&T. I went through A LOT of trouble to port my number over from AT&T, too. I DO NOT look forward to going through all that trouble again. I'm tempted by T-Mobile, as I like the IDEA of them, but the only experience I've actually had with them was having a T-Mobile SIM for a little bit in my unlocked Axon 7 earlier this year. And that had poor reception in my apartment, too. Would it be the same with an S9+ optimized for their network? Do I have to buy the phone from them for $850 just to TRY it?

T-Mobile is best overall, yah Verizon gives the best service but they are rapist 😑they just hold you down and take your stuff 😭😭 T-Mobile great speeds, great price, great customer service and now they own the majority of the "merger" with sprint and will be even better

ROMVS (6 месяцев назад)
To eliminate being cut while switching from wifi calling, there is a settings option that makes aggressive switching from wifi faster and another setting to keep your 4g. Together, this should help with the handoff problem.

What? 3G aka HSPA+ isn't that bad on AT&T or T-mo but 3G is slow on Sprint & Verizon. But you have to be on 3G with Verizon if you want to turn your phone into a Cellular webcam.

I have Sprint it worked driving all the way out to California it work driving all the way out to New York from Texas never had issues I used to be with Verizon I've been with AT&T AT&T went out of their way to f****** when I deployed they charged me to maintain my account and then wouldn't give me back my unlimited data so to hell with AT&T. Sprint has been okay I signed up under an employee plan because there was a VP who had an article on CNET my only complaint is if you're not an employee plan your technical support initially comes from the Philippines tier 2 is in the states. Tier 1 always leads to tier 2 because tier one of those tells you the stupid things like reboot your phone. But overall I've had signal everywhere I always have 3 to 4 bars of Lte even driving through the Hills just coming out of Texas going into New Mexico small mountains I dropped signal for a little bit but not for very long. Where Sprint doesn't have service that agreements so you don't get billed for anything extra and you have service essentially. I hear everybody come down on Sprint but overall they're no worse than anybody else.

I live in Germany and I pay 34,99€ (41$)/ month for Unlimited Talk & Text, 15GB LTE Data with max. data speeds of 225Mbps (1Mbps Unlimited after 15GB) plus Hotspot included. And I can use these conditions EU-wide at no additional cost. :)
Vibrant God (1 год назад)
Personally I like AT&T as my best option because in my area everywhere I go I almost get around 4 to 5 bars. I have switched to T-Mobile for around 2 to 3 months and it did not have as good reception as AT&T. On T-Mobile I get around 2 to 3 bars while on AT&T I got full service so I am gonna stick with AT&T for now

You could do voice and data at the same time with att and t mobile 10 years ago..... These verizon-ites are the only ones that didn't know.

I use Ting and spend less than $20 per month. What I line about this service is that any unlocked LTE or GSM phone will work on the network and I can block services I don't use such as SMS. This freedom allows me to really save money. https://joeygraziano.blogspot.com/2017/04/my-frugal-cell-phone-bill-done.html

I just switched to Verizon for unlimited from at&t. After 5 months we are moving back to at&t due to poor coverage in texas and extremely slow data speeds. Under 1mb down and up. I'll just pay off the 3 phones we got from Verizon and use them on at&t. $1500 mistake later. Ugg

Are you able to move carriers every four months because that is how long you need to stay with them to keep any incentives or phones?
The MayorH (1 год назад)
The reason I ask is because I was thinking about moving to Sprint and if they didn't work moving back to AT&T but bringing the Samsung Galaxy S8 that I got from Sprint. The Sprint salesman said that all iPhones and Samsung Galaxy 8 can work on both carriers due to some new law in America.

I have and work at T-mobile . T-Mobile will provide a 4G LTE cell tower if you call and T-Mobile just recently purchased new spectrum so people who have poor T-Mobile service in areas should notice a great improvement in the future

SPRINT IS TRASH, IT MIGHT BE 50% OFF, BUT IT HAS HORRIBLE COVERAGE, AND MY CALLS KEEP GETTING DROPPED.
beanbag345 (1 год назад)
If you're not tied to your phone, if you use it for calling without eating up tons of data, might try Total Wireless. Unlimited calling and texting for $26/mo., data is optional, $10 for 3GB rollerover, Verizon towers. I've used them two years now, get great coverage with no dropped calls. Haven't tried voice over data, don't need it. LTE works great where I'm at, too, no complaints!
