Each brand of Minoxidil is different, I suggest you refer to the instructions or ask the sales person. We now use a compounded formula with no PG so our instructions are very prescriptive and come with a lesson on how to apply correctly. Please email me for more at email@example.com
It depends on the brand, strength, ingredients and the reason you are using it? We are very prescriptive understanding difference and causes of hair loss and hair thinning. You can email me for more detail firstname.lastname@example.org
+Carolyn Evans my hair is thinning at the edges..i have hair in my crown area but not on front of head ..is this patter hair loss?..can i use this on the my forhead line? Will this have any disadvantage like blured vision ?
That means there are other contributing factors. Please email me for more or search for a hair specialist - Trichologist near you. Email email@example.com. This is not meant to happen and especially at such a young age. We did a video on this last week and a blog on our website, check it out at https://www.hair-loss-treatments.com.au/
Hey Carolyn i am 21 yrs female using minoxidil 5%for my hairloss and baldness in my scalp can i use oil after applying minoxidil and my doctor prescribed me a alpha follidense serum with minoxidil solution .
Is this is effective and safe treatment for me.
As a general rule, you would not apply anything after minoxidil for two hours as it is a powder in a liquid solution. You are young to be experiencing hair loss and baldness, I think there is an underlying cause that has been missed. Please email me for more information firstname.lastname@example.org
Please visit your doctor and describe your hair loss, minoxidil won't help hair loss, find out what caused it? Look back three months. Feel free to email me more of your health history to see if I can help. Email email@example.com
Each brand will have there own recommended usage, please check the packaging. We use a PG free formula that is only applied after proper scalp prep and is not washed off until the next treatment minimum 2 days apart. You can email me for more detail firstname.lastname@example.org

The problem is hair loss is completely different to hair thinning. Please email me to request a copy of our free eBook1 The Truth About Hair Loss and watch our Facebook LIVE series explaining the differences. Email email@example.com and Facebook is Absolique Hair Health Clinic
Minoxidil solutions address symptoms not causes so results tend to fade away. I prefer to recommend a more natural approach addressing both symptoms and causes. Email me for more at firstname.lastname@example.org
5% minoxidil is now available over the counter and said to be safe for women. Be sure you completely understand the cases of your hair concerns and possible side effects of this product first. I only recommend using in combination therapy. You can email me for more at email@example.com
I try to be more holistic and avoid the harmful ingredients that can be in the over the counter products. Always be sure to have a correct diagnosis and address both symptoms and causes. Fell free to email me your story firstname.lastname@example.org
do we have to shampoo everyday before applying minoxidil or we can apply directly on dry hair, I use oil thrice a week and shampoo that time only, so as started using minoxidil do I need shampoo everyday before applying minoxidil ?
Minoxidil products differ, you should follow individual manufacturers instructions. The product we use is has only safe ingredients and is used no more that every second day after safe scalp cleansing, we always stabilize the hair cycle too.
You're so great! Thank you so much for this video. I know you said to only apply with a dry scalp but I have heard some info that applying after wetting and towel drying your scalp can be beneficial because; you remove any sebum, excess minoxidil from the previous application, and the warm water helps open up pores for better absorption. Also, if you apply minoxidil after a shower in the morning, the minoxidil stays on your scalp for 8+ hours for better absorption. What do you think of this? Thanks!
We only use PG free minoxidil and safe products to prepare the scalp for absorption. Scalp Brush Therapy, Scalp Cleanser, Scalp Tonique, Activance then PG free minoxidil. This way we only apply it every second day or 3 times a week!
I am a guy but I thought I'd listen to how women applied it and this helped me so much! I had great results after two months but after six I thought that it might've been getting worse and so I did what "I thought" was massaging it in...but was actually rubbing it off! Feeling like an idiot but hopeful haha. Thanks so much for the video!
Hello, my clients do their hair washing/treatment regime every second day or three times a week. We normally recommend this for you after diagnosis as your scalp and hair condition need to be considered. Email me for more at email@example.com
I don't see why a hair thinning treatment would make your hair fall out? Makes no sense. If indeed this is what it does, carefully consider using it. I would always stabilize the hair cycle to reduce hair fall and understand all associated symptoms and causes. Email me if you would like my help firstname.lastname@example.org
Hello doctor,i'm man , I do not have a beard, I want a nice beard, I buy products Extra Strength Kirkland Minoxidil 5% Hair regrowth for Men, 6 Month Supply but I worry about the effect for sexual disorders Kirkland minoxidil 5%, as a number of user reports, advisory body thanks, thank very much
Hello maam. I was recommended by my dermatologist to use 5% minoxidil on my scalp (1ml) daily once. I am 26 years old female. I am using it for 2 years for now and results are good. The only issue I am facing using this is excess dryness of scalp and the flakes are heavy and nasty. please help me solve the issue. Please let me know about few tips and tricks I can keep in mind so as to avoid those nasty flakes which also contribute to hair fall as well. I found your videos interesting and hence I would like you to help me with the problem.
also there is no need to use a hair dryer to dry the lotion after applying on scalp. This lotion dries on its own.
If you apply in the morning and need to go out then you need to keep the lotion for a minimum of 4 hours before shampooing
Hello. We need to apply this lotion daily on the scalp and roots of hair and even it out with finger. One to two hour prior to sleeping application is what I do.There is no need to wash your hair after two hours of application of this minoxidil lotion.
You can wash your hair as per your routine.
As concerned with the flaky scalp that occurs coz of the drying effect of this lotion, you can apply Apple cider vinegar ( with the mother) on scalp and massage it in , 30 min before shampooing and this with help you solve the problem with flaky and dry scalp. Hope it helped you with your query.
This will depend on the stage of hair thinning you are at and what is your individual cause? Have you had a correct diagnosis? There is more required than just minoxidil. Please email me your answers and more about your individual hair concerns. Email email@example.com
well the thing is i was having mild hair loss. i went to a dermatologist & he gave me this serum. but after reading some horryfing stories of minaoxidil on the net i quit after 2 week. but now i am having insane hair sheding. its like hair hair everywhr😔 . 200+ hair everday . m scared now. wil my hair grow back! i used to have long healthy hair 😟
Used incorrectly without correct diagnosis it can be very harmful. With guidance of a modern Trichologist like myself can be helpful, but is rarely necessary. Please email me your hair story so I may assist. This video is intended and an instruction video only after correct diagnosis and along with progress checks. Email Carolyn firstname.lastname@example.org
I have androgenic alopecia. Started using minoxidil all over my scalp and I feel that I have an urge to use more than 1 ml everytime I apply. Is it a bad thing to do so? I feel that I have to apply it everywhere on my scalp since my hair is to thin. And I have shed like crazy since I started using it 1.5 month ago. Please reply and tell me what should I do?!
When the hair is thin everywhere then there is more than androgenic alopecia going on. Hair loss is to do with the hair cycle or reaction to the minoxidil. Increasing the dose will not address the problems. Correct diagnosis is the key here, you really need to understand symptoms and causes together to get a result. Please email me for further information email@example.com
Is this consistent with other women in your family at your age? If not, there may be other causes that are simple to treat and are commonly overlooked. You can email me your hair story. Email Carolyn at firstname.lastname@example.org
+Carolyn Evans my doctor preferred me Minoxidil and i bought small spray botal of Minoxidil and i used it complete on my scalp but i got no results from it so should i keep using it for 3 months to get results??
Any hair loss or hair thinning treatment needs to be followed for 4 months to see result. Keep in mind what you are using is only addressing symptom not cause so will not have effect when you stop. There are much more natural treatments available that address symptoms and causes once you have a correct diagnosis and understand your genetic hair type and hair cycle. You can email me your hair story to Carolyn at email@example.com
It will take at least 4 months to see changes from any treatment. Make sure you have a correct diagnosis as you are very young to be experiencing hair loss and hair thinning. There is usually another associated cause. Fell free to email me for more information at firstname.lastname@example.org
Im 19 years old boy and my hair was so thin 8 month ago but after that i got hair loss problem and i lost too many hair from every where not only from scalp. So now can you plz tell me any other formula or something through i can get my hair back and regrow them .. plz tell me something.
Help me plz
We do recommend using lower or no chemical formulas of minoxidil.
The product is designed for scalp, so try to keep of hair only because of chalky residue. Email me for more information as correct diagnosis is required to advise correctly. Email address is email@example.com
1. I am demonstrating how to use the product correctly.
2. Even women with a thick head of hair suffer hair loss and hair thinning
3. A womens hair is her mane and her identity, it is not about what you think about how it looks, but how we perceive it looks when women know it has changed.
4. As a Trichologist I help women with many hair loss and hair thinning disorders from all over the world because I understand what they are going through, because I have been through it and recovered :o))
Hello miss Carolyn good afternoon its me raja from Japan.i read all the questions and ans replied by you.varition of questions preceded varition of ans.finally I decided to share my allopica problem with you deeply,if you don't mind could you provide your mail address.
I read loads of great opinions on the net about how exactly Xohairbon Secrets (google search it) will help you cure your hair loss and regrow it safely. Has any one tried using this popular hair loss home remedy?
i had my hair chemically straightend, and since then my hair has been falling drastically. my crown area is now very thin and you can see my scalp. Can i use minoxidil rogaine for women, or what can you recommend? thanks
Is it true that the hair starts falling out again once you stop using minoxidil?(As i've found online!!)
-I'm having HAIR LOSS(LITERALLY see my hair FALLING OUT!) for some time.
-I have been using minoxidil for almost a month
-And I feel that my hair loss has decreased a little
-But what i'm afraid of is that if I'll have to use it for the rest of my life(Would my condition would worsen if I stopped using it?)
-And also, if I should even use it or what..
I have been watching your videos and I like the way you explain things. It would be really helpful if you could help ME this time.
I'm an 18 year old from Bangladesh and I started feeling my hair volume decreasing about a year ago.. :o
Minoxidil is used for pattern thinning only. Always check on the hair cycle before using as it is most likely the main problem. Pattern thinning is not hair loss, the hair does not fall out, it gradually thins. Combination therapy is the best approach addressing all symptoms and causes. Minoxidil formula should be chemical free.
hello i have a question i went to the dermatologist last week and after normal blood work they did a scalp test and results came i have the resting phase i cant spell it lol TE she said i can try mens rogane 5% or wait it out.. Will my hair fall out if i do then stop?
What you describe is related to the hair cycle, Rogaine is Minoxidil which is used for pattern thinning related to DHT, not hair loss. Email me for more information firstname.lastname@example.org
Hi Susan, I find the liquid version is better for women as it does not effect hair styling so much. Be careful not to use it as your main treatment as it works best in combination therapy and with correct diagnosis of course. Feel free to email me with your hair history and treatment plan for review. email@example.com
hi i been diagnosed with Alopecia for about 2 years and my endocrinologist put me on 2 medication and non of them really work for me and made my shedding even worse .. . i recently went back to my endocrinologist for a 3rd time after 2 years and she suggested that i take blood test to find out if my hair loss due to heredity or hormonal problems .. and i would like to know if it turns out that my hair loss its heredity what measure should i take to stop my hair loss? because i have not felt my hair in 2 years .. the texture of my hair feels like cotton candy and its gradually thinning ... any help is appreciated
Dear Sabab, your diagnosis is confusing as Alopecia tends to be Auto-Immune and patchy hair loss. Hereditary hair problems are pattern hair thinning, not actual hair loss, and the same for hormonal type of hair loss unless it is hormonal imbalance. Please email me with more information firstname.lastname@example.org
Correct diagnosis is essential as hair loss, meaning hair physically falling out is a health concern, pattern thinning is not hair loss. A visit to your doctor to run some health tests is recommended. You can email me your results, questions or concerns... email@example.com
Dear Carolyn Evans, I have been using minoxidil for 1 month now and I would like to know how to part my hair correctly before using the minoxidil since my hair is growing longer. Since my hair is curly I find it extremely hard to part my hair in areas where my hair is receding and find the scalp. Is there any tips you can give me on how to part your hair if it is curly? It would be much appreciated. Thank you.
+Tef Dear Tef, Thanks for your comment and question. I suggest to use the tip of the eyedropper to reach the scalp, and then use a drop and press action. I will be difficult to part your hair so go by the feel on the scalp. Hope this helps and please be sure to address all symptoms and causes for best results.
+violet erin There are a few things going on for you and I can make some positive natural suggestions but will need to know a bit more history for your scalp and hair health. Please email me some more information, this is my direct and private email address: firstname.lastname@example.org
Sounds like you may have had the wrong needle length. I personally use microneedle 0.75mm on my scalp in prep for topical Natural Treatments for many years and the only side effect is healthy hair growth. I am not an expert on skin.
+Carolyn Evans I USED* a dermaroller on my face 4 times, cause significant damage to the texture of my skin. I immediately developed tiny, irritated, painful, hard, raised bumps that took 2 weeks to subside and left my skin looking glossy like I had peeled layers off of it.. It didn't smoothen out my skin or help my acne or scars, it made my skin look even more pitted! I was rolling it, not dragging it and very careful to go slow and it just tremendously! I can't imagine how painful it would be on your scalp, my Lord! I have very sensitive, acne-prone skin and my head breaks out too sometimes, so I don't know if dermarolling is a good idea! You can't just put the product on your clean head and let it work it's magic?
+Crystal Anderson Do you use a Dermaroller on your skin? Works the same on the scalp. Be careful to only use every other day and not with high chemical products. For more information email me email@example.com
+nancy ahmed In most cases hair loss starting so young would mean there is a problem with the hair cycle, so the follicles may be open. You can check this with a microscope to be sure, but is promising. Even though 12 years is a long time, I always find open but dormant follicles. Minoxidil alone will not help with this. Please email me with more details so I can help. firstname.lastname@example.org
+Carolyn Evans Yes, the hair loss is generally from all over. However, the part down the centre of my scalp is widening. Also, at the hairline just above my eye-brows looks scanty, and there is no re-growth.
My hair cycle? I can only tell you that I noticed significant hair loss more than 2 years ago and it has not slowed down since.
So, are you saying that I am not a good candidate for the Rogaine therapy?
The main thing to understand is the difference between hair loss and hair thinning!
If indeed it is hereditary hair thinning 5% Minoxidil is sufficient but be aware of the base it is formulated in. For more information please email me direct: email@example.com
Dear Mercedes Rivera, as a hair professional I am teaching people how to use the right treatments in the right way. The fact that I have gained my hair back after hair loss only contributes to my passion for helping people. Thank you for your kind words on my now recovered full, thick head of hair!

whther ma condition of hair is getting good or bad ?
Carolyn, thank you for your videos! I've seen a dermatologist for my sudden and excessive hair loss that began when I took the beta blocker Atenonol. I stopped taking the drug after 4 months, but continued to experience hair loss. In addition, I've had a wide part and high forehead. I'm in California and searched for a trichnologist with no avail. Where can one go to for a good diagnosis?
+GirlyTipsEtc Scapl Prep - Scalp Brush Therapy, Scalp Cleansing, Scalp Tonique, Microneedle Therapy and then your topical treatments, never more than once every 2nd day as the scalp skin needs healing time too.
She's doing micro-needling prior. You can purchase these derma-roller devices in varying needle lengths easily on Amazon. The idea is to create light "punctures" in the dermal surface prior to applying the liquid for better application.
Hi, i've been using minoxidil 2% (Unipexil) for a year and i don't think i've seen any progress so i moved on minoxidil Cooper 5%, it's been 1 month now.
My question is: Should i continue to use minoxidil 5% to see if there is any progress or should i stop, Because the 2% wasn't that effective, i guess.
Hope you reply soon. . Thanks in advance. :)
+tsal good It takes 4 months to see results from Hair Loss Treatments and in the case of DHT you see early signs but may need to work at removing the constriction with combination therapy for longer, as you say up to 1 year and in extreme cases 2 years.
+TheThasvin Minoxidil at 5% has been safe for men and women for many years now. If you are not getting results it is because the DHT is building up inside and Minoxidil cannot stop this and there may also be a problem with your hair cycle. Get your hair cycle checked out by a Trichologist with a microscope to be sure.
Thick hairs have been seen as early as 4 months into treatment, but usually the full benefit from Minoxidil is not see for 12- 14 months. Therefore, many doctors tell their patients not judge the results for at least 1 year.
Base of Aloe? I just started Men's Rogaine 5% today, I am a 27 year old female.
I am concerned about the side affects, and aging... But at the same time am really at the end of my rope with the hair loss so I am ready to give it a try.
Hey Carolyn. Secondary to stress and familial component, I started having hair loss and in about a yr, I almost lost half of my hair. I started using minoxidil few months ago and it has helped a little. My concern is that will my hair grow back, since I cannot completley control the stress for now. I also noted hair on my face. Is that the side effect of using minoxidil on the scalp? How can I control/prevent this. Thanks
There are actions that can be taken to minimize hair loss and start regrowing hair naturally without expensive treatments. Natural, homemade remedies work well for people who take action early. A new technology treatment at argan rain works pretty well for me.
Hi, Today I went to dermatologist and he recommended me the prescription Minoxidil 5% topical application foam to stop hair loss and for hair regrowth. Before using this I started looking for reviews and got scared a bit seeing negative reviews too..Many reviews says Minoxidil 5% is only for men but doctor prescribed me Minoxidil 5%. Do female can also use 5%. and also have many doubts. Just wondering, 1) how long I have to use this? and when I can stop using this 2) Can I just leave it, once I apply to scalp? 3) Could I wash my hair as like before I haven't use this foam. 4) Once applied after how many days or hours I could wash my hair. 5) Can I use tresseme shampoo to wash my hair.
Thanks much in advance for responding.
I also have used 5% for more than 5 years. The side effect is you'll see fine hair growth in your arm, back neck around your shoulder and most noticeably around your side face which you need to shave if that bothers you. Maybe that's why it says not for women for cosmetic reasons. Anyway 5% is strong enough that you'll see the result for sure.
You can use it also as a woman, in spain dermatologists only recommend the 5% formula. 1) If you have AGA, using minoxidil is a lifetime treatment, if you stop using it the new hair will fall off 2) yes you just have to leave it on the scalp it will absorb by itself 3. You can wash your hair before using this product and apply it when your scalp is dry 4) After 4 hours 5) you can use whatever shampoo you like :)
It has been safe for a long time now for women to use 5% minoxidil. I recommend HLCC Re-Stim Plus because it is in a base of Aloe. Make sure you have a correct diagnosis so you are treating the correct problem.
mam I am in ahuge problem. I have excessively used my tugain 2% solution. I experienced heavy hairloss and I am still experiencing hairfall. I have mailed you my problem at firstname.lastname@example.org. please help me out. :'(
Sorry, but you misunderstand. Stopping minoxidil when other symptoms and causes are not addressed can cause hair loss or hair thinning once again. Minoxidil alone will never address all symptoms and causes. Correct diagnosis is the key :o))
When you treat the cause which is DHT binding not just the symptom of the hair thinning you will not have hair loss when you stop using a formula of Minoxidil without the chemical Propylene Glycol such as Re-Stim Plus from HLCC. Please also understand the hair cycle. Diagnosis, symptoms and causes are essential to be understood for long term results.
Many people are sensitive to the carrier agents in Minoxidil and also some to Minoxidil itself. Personally I like to go after the hair cell and cycle correction which builds a strong immune cell system and in turn blocks the DHT with any Minoxidil necessary. Currently conducting microscopic tracking for long term effect, results thus far are positive :o))) let me know how you go with transplants, the surgeons and techniques these days are amazing!!!!
