2/2 Doctors and specialists that he has seen since say they can't help him. His pain continues and has not eased since the 2nd day of his fribronylitics treatment. It will force him to stop anything he is doing and wait it out. The surges are a few minutes long. Australian law says that you need a prescription for coedine. Even coedine barely works but may give him some relief so he can sleep. Alternatives make it difficult for him to do his job as they effect him cognitively. I just thought I'd share his experience as I get the feeling that Pnemonia is thought to be a severe illness but something that can be treated easily.
1/2 This explanation is great. Thankyou. My husband was diagnosed with pneumonia at a very late stage 4 years ago. It just looks like he had a bad flu. He wasn't coughing up anything. He got severe pain and had to be rushed to the ER. His lungs were full of pus and the infection had started on the outside of his lungs aswell. He went through 21 hellish days of hospital treatment ; IV antibiotics, a thoracic draining tube and a 3 day treatment of severely painful fribronylitics (which he was told wouldn't be painful). The fribronylitics was supposed to flush the infection out by melting the lung fibres as the infection wouldn't budge from the antibiotics. It didn't work. He was then referred to a thoracic surgeon. He operated and physically removed the infection. He said my husband's lungs were as white as plaster and one lung was squashed by a large amount of scar tissue. The lung couldn't be moved without damaging it more. 4 years on hubby still has daily severe pain. Cont.
I have pneumonia.🙁 I have to take a breathing treatment every 4 hours,( a inhaler with a spacer) I also have to take prescription liquid medicine, and whenever I go to the doctor to see if it has improved ( I do this once a week) I have to put on a mask and they have a big air tank that I use and they also put some little tubes of different medication.
I have experience Streptococcus Pneumoniae(Lobar Pneumonia) when i was 6th grade(2006) before that i was diagnose w/ Rheaumatic Heart Disease(2004) also cause by Strep, due to my RHD i was rush to the hospital after after having 1 day of fever and shortness of breath and irregular heartbeats i cannot even move due to my fever and my skin was very sensitive when someone touches it stings, medication in the hospital took a week my doctor said i was lucky because a week before i caught pneumonia my doctor have given me my monthly injection of penicillin for my RHD..
I just want to share my experience, thank you for the information it was very informative and catchy at the same time..
I can't breath worth a crap and its getting harder. I have all this crud in my lungs but cant generate any force with my lungs so i can hardly even cough. This is scary. I dont want to go to the doctor cause they never help all they do is waste your time and a LOT of money. Its unbeleivable how broken the hospital system is here. Shame on all you doctors who dont truly want to help people
Community pharmacists are the health professionals most accessible to the public. They supply medicines in accordance with a prescription or, when legally permitted, sell them without a prescription. In addition to ensuring an accurate supply of appropriate products, their professional activities also cover counselling of patients at the time of dispensing of prescription and non-prescription drugs, drug information to health professionals, patients and the general public, and participation in health-promotion programmes. They maintain links with other health professionals in primary health care.
