Lauren Gaboury that's totally okay. Maybe you're sore? When new muscles are in progress, you will feel a little stiff. Give yourself some place, like keep your feet hip width apart in forward folds etc.
Can someone tell me what the position is called that's like downward dog but with one heel in the air. It isn't listed on any position chart but loads of yoga people do it. It's the fucking worst. I can't get my leg past 50 degrees, so disheartening. I don't feel that way about any other yoga move
That's what that position is supposed to be.....the standing splits.... thank you.....now I understand why I can't get anywhere near what they are doing. Of course I can't, I can't do the splits. Why do they say it like that i that's what they want me to do. They all say "just float your ankle to the ceiling" like it's nothing. Whenever any yoga instructor asks you do ANY other split they say stuff like "don't worry if you can't do it" but with this they are ALL so nonchalant about it. I thought I was mechanically subnormal because I couldn't get anywhere near to what they were doing.
