Facebook’s global expansion has been linked to political turmoil overseas, so maybe their ads should focus less on how they “connect the world” and more on why connecting people isn’t always the best idea.

Zuck is a good example of why thinking in an autistic/hyper logical way and dismissing engaging emotionally as being "inferior/stupid" is fucking disastrous. He doesn't really care how his company negatively impacts ppl, all he cares about is achieving what goals he wants. You can say "yeah, and now Zuck is considered successful and wealthy" but his company also fucking causes problems and harm to ppl all over the world. Oh but right, being concerned about that is "emotional" right, why care about collateral damage...
The true problem, as always, are people. For me, Facebook is a powerful tool for uniting people in animal rescue and that is primarily what I use it for. I don't usually post comments, and rarely do I disagree with John Oliver, but I thought I'd pitch in and maybe give someone the idea to use facebook to do some good.
Facebook Says It Is Deleting Accounts at the Direction of the U.S. and Israeli Governments https://theintercept.com/2017/12/30/facebook-says-it-is-deleting-accounts-at-the-direction-of-the-u-s-and-israeli-governments
WARNING COMMUNITY ABOUT FACEBOOK.
They have been harrassing me online relentlessly and even once after I let them know I will tell everyone I can what they are doing to me, literally they imposed a message in red letters that this message could not be sent. I was completely blocked but not today.
I was going to work for them and changed my mind after they texted for me to join for a while I said no, they said. They said, we hope you make it home safe. So now I feel like my life is in danger. So I live in Florida if I end up dead they did it, this is why.
They send countless meassages andriod has stopped google has stopped. They use to interfere with my vid. Stopping it altogether. When I got rid of their phone cleaner app which has the same color as their web page that interference stopped completely. They own wish and wish sells lipstick with dangerous lead in it. You can check by putting the lipstick on paper and rubbing it with gold or silver if it turns black that's lead!!!
But now it's that circle thing that shows up before a vid plays, well it goes on and on until I have to restart phone. It stops but then during the rest of vid it happens again. After I threated to expose them it went down a great deal, but fail to stop completely in harrassing me. They do it especially when I pray online. They are attacking my human rights and are a serious threat to the country. They want control. I heard they control us by checking out what we like and send commercials to make us spend. Well, when I spoke to a family member about working at inventory they didn't stop sending inventory offers or other job offers after that conversation. They sell our info. So joining them is NOT FREE!!! It cost you your privacy and peace of mind.Oct. 14, 2018
The problem is definitely not Facebook. The problem is the people. I agree, Facebook is pretty much trash, but to give some blame to them on ethnic cleansing that has been happening for thousands of years (not just in this country) is just ridiculous. Thousands of people are killed everyday in vehicle collisions, yet you dont see them blaming the vehicle makers, so why blame Facebook for what people post? If you want to give the argument they should curate the content, etc - this video would be all about Facebook censoring people instead.
"a guy who's been universally lauded as a genius and visionary" hahahahahahahahaha You forget the part of him also been universally considered a egocentric alien cumbucket that on his death no one will give two shits about.
calling him bin laden is ironic because the Buddhist monk sees what islam is doing and is preventing any bin laden from spawning on this soil. BTW it all started when rohingya jihadis killed 175 people the world isnt USA.
Been saying for years: All trend feeding social media will cause future wars. Topical curiosity leads to strong biased opinions based on the bias of the first article/video they found; leading to exaggerated polarization of society & eventually war
The only reason John Oliver is finally exposing this is because the limited freedom of speech had still allowed Hillary to look bad.
But, Zuckerberg will do anything to avoid hiring a person. The are too stingy to hire any customer service at all.
I don't agree with putting the blame on facebook whenever something bad happens in the world. That is easy way out and definitely not fair. People kill each other with knives too. Do we blame knife manufacturers for not controlling how people use their product after every murder? Nope. So why facebook? This whole situation turned into a shitty smear campaign.
I was being bullied on facebook so I made another account with a nickname and no information about who I am. Facebook blocked my nickname account and demanded I show them files of my id with my real name. I was like "nope". Haven't used facebook since then and I don't care at all 👋
The politics of Southeast Asia are extremely complicated, like anywhere else. Only the locals really know what is happening, why it is happening, and what to do about it. I was very disappointed in this segment, it was all over the place. People are not obligated to use FB. And it simply reflects the world, in wonderful ways and terrible ways. I both love and hate FB. But that is not the point. People who do not live in Muslim countries, in this part of Asia; their opinions seem very tied up in their own ethnocentricity and colonial paternalism.
Giving everyone a voice to speak, without worrying too much what that voice chooses to say... Isn't that essentially the right of free speech? Blaming a platform for this is not a good shot. The core issue is free speech when most speeches are crap - Sturgeon's law.
7:50 usually history books show that religions basically have the same pagan origins, reason why these symbols are the same from the star to the hand or the sun , from the lotus swallowed by a woman that turned into the version of whatever mary and the immaculate conception etc etc (one same bag of shit, for the usual fag gods 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂) .
9:50 , in fact even without Facebook the facts are/were very rarely shown and explained entirely , newspapers or tv news rarely did/do it as well (and that is not now that the human focus capacity have been tremendously reduced (thanks in particular to Facebook and its alike) that news will really and fully explain facts and situations)
Facebook is like the ghetto, no matter how many new sidewalks you make, no matter how many roads you fix, no matter how many housing projects you begin, the ghetto will be the ghetto, until you work it out of the people. Facebook certainly doesn’t have clean hands, but it’s only a half of a much bigger whole.
I think this is pretty unfair to facebook. It's like blaming a blank canvas for turning into a painting of wish bear fucking instead of the artist. Or blaming the manufacturer of the canvas instead of the person who bought that painting and hung it in their living room. Facebook has just as many wonderful things as there are wonderful people.
You are wildly confusing facebook with the content that people put on it. Facebook is an app that allows you to post stuff (among other things), hate speech is SOMEONE's post on facebook. In myanmar, its stupid people who are new to the internet causing the problems, they just happen to use facebook. Also, understanding the content of written text, especially in foreign language is extremely difficult with algorithms, not to mention determining if its true or false and hate speech or not.
Why blame Facebook for the stupidity of people? Why should information only come from centralized news agencies, they can spread lies just as well? If a dictator could speak loud enough would you blame the air for transmitting the sound to people?
Muslim are the problem everywhere. They do not assimilate with others. Do not respect the country’s law and order. Do not believe in population control. Have zero or no respect for other religions and customs. The entire history of Islam is hate , terror and forceful conversion. Accept it, Kashmir has become a problem as soon the Hindus were thrown out of their own home. Soon this Muslim loving John Oliver will see. Pakistan did a ethnic cleansing of all the Hindus and the total number from the last 50 years gone down from 23% to 1.2 %.
Just go to Saudi Arabia and try building a temple or church you will know how tolerant these peace loving Muslims are.
The "hate speech is language specific" quote was taken out of context - MZ was referring to artificial intelligence, and the fact that it's really hard to design automated systems that can identify hate speech without the involvement of humans. It's "language specific" in the sense that language is highly nuanced and generally can't be accurately unpacked or deciphered by a machine (as any translator will tell you).
Don't care for FB, and JO gives me a chuckle, but yes - frequently this show takes things out of context for the sake of humor. The "fail fast" bit is also out of context - that was referring to new feature releases, not rolling out to a new country. Bending and hand-waving messy reality for humor or political purposes is pretty much a human art form at this point.
Community pharmacists are the health professionals most accessible to the public. They supply medicines in accordance with a prescription or, when legally permitted, sell them without a prescription. In addition to ensuring an accurate supply of appropriate products, their professional activities also cover counselling of patients at the time of dispensing of prescription and non-prescription drugs, drug information to health professionals, patients and the general public, and participation in health-promotion programmes. They maintain links with other health professionals in primary health care.
