I did this 3 days a week for 6 months, doing what Donnie did for a while and then doing what Deena did, and while it got easy, I saw no tone. and at 5'5" 119 lbs, it shouldn't be a stretch to get there. so I'm trying other things before I'm 100% convinced you cannot target the stomach alone. the only way to get a flat tum/6-pack is to work out the whole body... or become underweight. don't do the latter.

Do you have a video for abs and core that is not sit ups or chest lifts?? I have damage to my chest wall and it gets inflamed easily. I can't do crunches in any form. Will only doing plank help that? Thank you.

Probably cause your doing it wrong. If you only feel it in your arms then your probably only supporting your body with you arms. You need to support your body by keeping your core tight. Hope this helped

The slim blonde girl in this vid had the better bodyline due to her core being engaged and so did the exercises more effectively! The older woman was not engaging abs and core effectively which is why we could see her legs and feet twitching around and also her arse was stuck in the air when she planked LOL! The blonde girl is very good though...think she tutors in the stretching vids as well.
I had a similar experience and my trainer told me this was happening because my abs were not strong enough and so I was relying on my back muscles to lift me back up. Once your abs become stronger, you will find that it's easier. Doing a full sit-up might be too much. Try starting off with smaller crunches or use an ab machine (if you go to the gym). Even now, when I'm doing the last set of my ab workout, I start to feel pain in the lower back and I know it's because my abs are tired and I've given up. lol
@Vilma I just happened to glance at this post because this video came right after one that I watch every day. So I have not seen this video yet. But what you are describing sounds like an experience I've had with ab workouts. When I started strengthening the muscles in my back this went away. Your body needs to be in balance so strengthening just the abs and not the back will put it out of balance. For me when I started working on my abs my back was a mess and the muscles were very weak there so I pretty stopped doing a lot of ab training, and put more focus on the muscles in my back. now I'm at the point where I have almost no pain in my back anymore when doing abs. But if that does not work I suggest you find ab workouts that don't cause pain in your back. Believe me there are TONS of ab excercises that do not stress your back.
I love this workout ! Thank you so much for posting this routine. I try doing it once to twice a day. I also use the Thigh Gap video from Donnie once to twice a day. It gave me a good sweat and afterwards I start feeling good. I used to range from 160-165 IBS. Now I am now 145 IBS. I plan on getting my weight down much further and work on making my meal portions much smaller. I love these PsycheTruth videos. You guys are considerate to beginners and it made me feel less discouraged. I am starting to be able to do some of the harder ones now. :)
