It's now August 16, 2018, THEY FUCKED UP AND NEED TO FIX IT! Many pain patients, 30 years of pain management with oxycodone and it worked, I haven't got my meds in 3 years now. because of all this bullshit, No reason for this.
Patricia Warfel (4 месяца назад)
This is just bullshit. The 52,000 number of drug overdoses you cited is from ALL prescriptions. You then clarified that 2/3rds of those were from prescription opiates, heroin, and fentanyl, yet you failed to distinguish how many overdoses actually resulted from prescriptions versus illicit street drugs (heroin and fentanyl). The fact of the matter is that there are two things going on here, with illegal fentanyl flooding the market and being mixed with or sold as heroin, ultimately responsible for the increase in overdoses given that it's 100 times more potent than heroin. Then you have the suicides of patients whose "pills have dried up" because of unmanaged pain, or chronic pain patients turning to street heroin to manage their pain. This is just another all out war perpetrated by the DEA and it's targets are genuine pain patients who don't abuse opiates and take them as prescribed. I never imagined RT would become a bitch of the DEA, pushing the mindless mainstream narrative. If that's the case, why not just push the Russia narrative while you're at it. This is so disappointing from RT.

"Big Pharma" didn't create the heroin epidemic, our government did. A combination of circumstances fueled widespread opioid addiction. This included but is hardly limited to doctors being rewarded for writing prescriptions, underinsured and non-insured individuals as well as insurance companies that approved medicinal bandages for painful conditions until surgery was absolutely needed. Again, not all encompassing. The heroin epidemic came about after a series of broad reaching, strict government regulations took effect. Arguably cruel regulations enacted with what appeared to be intentionally negligent disregard for the inevitable fallout.

I believe the police want the little guy so to support the police the judges ,courthouses, prisons, etc. The drug dealer supports the chain. So weed is legal in most if not all states.and now if you are a drug addict and want to shoot up heron the govt now has safe places where you can shoot up and if you overdose there is someone there to give you narcon. wtf? If the govt wanted to stop the illegal drug trade they could do it but there making to much money from it along with the dealers. But let's screw the people that have true medical issues. uggg

Big "Pharma", didn't create the current opiode addiction. Heroine largely come s from Afganistan!!! Now, how does it get from there to here?? Can you say the military? Doctors are so controlled by the DEA that most won't and are afraid to prescribe for ligetimate pain issues. Yes, big "Pharma" does push a lot of very addictive drugs like SSRI'S or SSNRI'S, which are worse than opiods, but you don't hear about those drugs. You're somewhat misinformed about the whole issue.

This is one of the least evil things they do. The most evil is buying all generic drug companies to raise prices 5000% or more. I agree all of them should be shot for murder. However the reality is on oxy they were prescribing too high a dose. 10 mg per day will never addict you. Even 40 will not if it is spaced throughout the day 5 or 10 mg at a time.

I had started working for Cvs/Caremark as a pharmacy tech in 2004 for the 3 months mail order side. Because of this I was given great benefits which included 3 month supply of prescriptions for just $10. I had Back pain but instead of physical therapy was given 7.5mg of Vicodin of 280 pills per bottle and 3 bottles at a time with temporary refills to be picked up at local cvs or Walgreens. After about a year I no longer was given the meds and had to purchase off the street and when that got too expensive moved on to heroin. First started snorting then shooting, I've been to rehab many times and it's a battle I wish I never had to experience and don't wish upon anyone.

opioids CAN be safely prescribed for long term use! chronic pain needs chronic treatment. the problem has been lack of proper education about how to use these drugs safely bc they usually cannot be combined with certain other drugs that some doctors are giving in tandem! we need to just STOP with the prohibition already & accept that people are going to do drugs. didn't we already learn this lesson with alcohol prohibition? allow adults access to the substances they want to use along with the proper information to do so safely. it CAN be done- I have been treating my pain with opiates for nearly twenty years; the only time it has ever been dangerous were times when I didn't have access to an adequate prescription.

spiderkitty76 (1 год назад)
mberg1974 I did not say this was a US problem. It is a human problem. I disagree that our substance use problem is so unique. We may use most of the official supply of opiates manufactured by the pharmaceutical industry, but people the world over use myriad substances, often using the same plants their ancestors used for centuries. The need to alter the consciousness is universal, & our modern life has pushed that need higher than ever. As always, though, mother nature holds promising solutions. Research is showing that hallucinogenic & dissociative plants, used properly, could alleviate drug dependency as well as many other man made miseries. Of course, there are plenty who have not lost touch with the old knowledge, well aware of these plants & their value. Unfortunately the US & its drug "control" policy has enforced a legacy of shame on many substances. It's great to see science & substance users alike pushing back.
mberg1974 (1 год назад)
spiderkitty76 Yes, I fully agree on the policy part. I think the US should adopt the Portuguese model, which basically means decriminalize all drugs for personal use and approach addiction as a medical issue instead of as a criminal behavior. I don't agree with you on that life in the US is so especially stressful and depressing, life can be pretty miserable in other industrial countries too, like Japan, South Korea & many european countries has higher suicide rates than the US but they don't have a drug epidemic. I think the US drug problem is linked to the very american idea that even occasional pain and depression is unnatural and should be treated with some quick fix substance that will solve all your problems, rather than looking at occasional pain and sometimes not feeling great as a natural part of life.
spiderkitty76 (1 год назад)
mberg1974 What I am referring to is the unprecedented epidemic of sheer misery that our way of life breeds. People are turning to drugs just to get through the day because a typical American's day is miserable. Maybe if our culture took seriously the fact that so many people are living in utter misery and pain, we could actually address the underlying causes of what pushes people to use all these drugs in the first place. Human beings simply weren't designed to live the way our modern society forces them to live. As far as these evil pharmaceutical companies go, I agree with you. If people want to use substances they should be free to do so at their own discretion, without being held hostage by some wealthy corporate conglomerate. I disagree with drug prohibition because it doesn't work, and I disagree with the supremacy of the pharmaceutical industry because I believe in freedom. We would be so much better off if individuals were allowed to grow their own medicinal plants and their own backyards. But no, we can't have that because the corporatocracy can't profit from that. So when I say we have an untreated pain epidemic, I mean that the status quo has led to unprecedented numbers of people experiencing unprecedented levels of pain, physical and otherwise. From the toxic food, to the ridiculous working hours, the horrendous stress, the lack of sleep, the list goes on and on, our society is fairly steeped in misery.

These kind of videos make me crazy. I am a chronic pain patient. Without my opioid, I would be bedfast and unable to contribute anything to my society. With it, I run a small business in my community, working more than full time. The problems with heroin are in no way, shape, or form *my* fault. Nor are they the fault of millions of other chronic pain patients in this country. All we want is to be able to participate in life - hold a job, care for our families, and just maybe be able to enjoy a simple hobby. Yes, there are huge numbers of people out there who are addicted to opioids. That's not our fault. But these attempts to stave off these problems only end up hurting the legitimate pain patients. If the US was *seriously* interested in decreasing this so-called opioid epidemic, across the board cannabis legalization would be a fantastic first step.

Is the blame being put onto Pharmaceutical Companies for an increasing suicide rate. Few people commit 'suicide' by accident. There has been a movement to restrict the availability of pain-killers -- this has led to some people in pain having to search for heroin. This video actually says that "drying up the tablets" leads to many more people seeking heroin. The USA, with the fields of poppies grown in Afghanistan, controls 90% of the world heroin trade. Hmmm...?!! Before the 1990's many people did not receive adequate palliative care for fatal diseases or chronic conditions associated with significant pain. These commentators keep on repeating how much it costs tax-payers to pay for this medication. "Let them suffer". "Why should we pay for someone else's suffering?" That seems to be the attitude. Perhaps the motivations for this campaign are: 1/. The cost of the drugs (they are not expensive drugs); 2/. A desire to hide an increasing suicide rate. It does not look good when increasing numbers of your citizens opt for suicide. A legal man giving his opinion: but has he ever had the responsibility of attempting to relieve severe, chronic pain?

The other victims in this is those who really are in pain and now Dr.s are reluctant to prescribe to them! No, Mike, not all pain is short lived. Neuropathy, sciatica, spinal issues, etc, can go on for years or for life. Some we can even tell if they are faking it, like with the Nerve Conduction test, which can tell (not pain itself) that the nerves are degenerating (causing pain). The question is PAIN. Even the fakers are in pain. Do normal, healthy, well-adjusted humans seek escape through mental alterations? We make poor, miserable people who are of course going to seek escape. Talk about the suicide rates in the country. It's connected. Whether by gun or by pill, people are NOT happy, healthy, or well-adjusted. Fix that, and I think the rest will follow naturally. All you can really say about addicts, is that they are too scared to just do themselves in, as so many others do, and instead just try to make the life experience a little less miserable for themselves. Maybe we should encourage them to stop with the pills and just get a gun and get it over with. Or fix what makes them so miserable. It doesn't have to be this way. It stays this way by our tacit consent.

CIA clan of taking opioids out of doctors offices and putting heroin on the street so disabled people who they consider a burden on society can buy it off the street and get arrested and get thrown in jail or overdose on it and die ,is being foiled buy kratom. It kills pain and it's not addictive and very good for you. The government is doing everything in his power to get it taken away from us and we are fighting hard to keep it legal. They make up all kinds of stories saying people are dying from it when that's impossible. They tried to do that to me in the hospital saying I was dying from a kratom overdose where you can't overdose on kratom. I had taken some phenibut and took a little bit too much of that and that's what happened but they wouldn't even pay attention to phenibut because it's not interrupting their plans. They used kratom and made a report on me saying Kratom almost killed me. This actually broke up my marriage. That's a long story for another time .The government doesn't give a crap about any of us. It is the reason why our society is like it is today...When you stop using drugs or drinking alcohol you cannot start again. If you do it will be like you never stopped and it will get worst. Obviously the war on drugs was being fought on the wrong fronts. Yet is was the drug dealers in the inner cities that were aired on mainstream media's nightly news. The war on drugs is a war being waged by government against inner city neighborhoods. It is-was the corporate drug dealers that were the true front to be fought in America's war on drugs. Then there are the newly acquired poppy fields in Afghanistan that are yet to epidemic.

the war on drugs is a fraud. the guys claiming to stop drug dealers (cia and fbi) are the biggest dealers on the planet. the war on drugs is a war against the bill of rights not on drugs. the dealers they arrest is all just theatre.

Always the same typos with the USA. War of Drugs War of Terror etc.

See it very well. Hidden point in what I am saying. There is an inability for the masses of the public to see what is behind the curtain. I am pointing that out. It is deliberate to only put the low level drug dealer in the news. That is a thorough analysis.
