Carmel High School's Education Professions courses offer students the chance to explore a career in elementary or middle school teaching through a semester or yearlong internship. Explore teaching as a career through planning, writing, and implementing developmentally appropriate lesson plans; completing classroom observations; applying ethical and professional principles when working with children and adolescents; and investigating licensing requirements related to careers in education. Documentation of achievement is demonstrated in a portfolio based on professional teaching standards. Students are placed in an elementary or middle school by the high school supervising teacher.

Community pharmacists are the health professionals most accessible to the public. They supply medicines in accordance with a prescription or, when legally permitted, sell them without a prescription. In addition to ensuring an accurate supply of appropriate products, their professional activities also cover counselling of patients at the time of dispensing of prescription and non-prescription drugs, drug information to health professionals, patients and the general public, and participation in health-promotion programmes. They maintain links with other health professionals in primary health care.
