Why the media is not reporting the truth on Fukushima?

Оценок: 536 | Просмотров: 100499
Paul Gunter, Beyond Nuclear joins Thom Hartmann. For the first time since before last year's March earthquake and tsunami - a nuclear reactor in Japan is up and running again. Despite 200,000 protesters gathering last week in Central Tokyo to demonstrate against turning any nuclear reactors back on - reactor number three at the Oil nuclear plant in the Fukui Prefecture in Western Japan was officially flipped on Sunday night - restarting Japan's embrace of nuclear power. Many of the other 49 reactors that have been shut down since last year - are scheduled to be turned on again later this month. But scientists are warning that the plants still haven't been properly upgraded to withstand a strong earthquake and tsunami - like the one that took out the Fukushima plant, which is still in the midst of a nuclear crisis. Last week - record levels of radiation were discovered inside reactor one at the plant. A lethal dose of more than 10,000 millisieverts an hour was registered in the reactor - that's ten times more radiation than in reactors two and three. According to the operators of the plant - TEPCO - workers are unable to enter the site due to the high levels of radiation. So is it really wise for Japan to be restarting its nuclear plants while the country still tries to resolve the world's worst nuclear disaster?

If the Japanise Government is so stupid for not learning from this and going to green energy now, then they reap what they sow. TEPCO should be sued for not having this problem contained by now. As the westerly winds and tides flow, America will suffer from this for thousands of years to come. TEPCO is incompetent and way over their headz in trying to deal with this alone.

MAYBE BY 'NOT' LETTING FUKUSHIMA MELT DOWN ..WE ARE CAUSING THE RADIATION POISONING OF OUR OCEANS? What happens if we just let Fukushima melt down so it moves the majority of the radiation below water level and toward the core of the earth? It seems, that might be the better choice so that we don't maintain the constant poisoning of our oceans with radiation...... the question becomes.... What is expected to happen if it reaches the core of the earth? We may have no other choice but to let all the Nuclear Power Plants located next to the ocean to 'Melt-Down' as the ocean levels continue to rise easily 25 feet or more in the near future... Scientists estimated we had another 85 years before we'd see the ice in the Arctic completely melted in summer and we are now 85 years ahead of time... Ut Oh... we're F-ed!

Zero nuclear related deaths - unlike chernobyl which had 26. Yes < 100 people have ever died from civilian nuclear power. Several MILLION from coal. 40,000 deaths per YEAR in US now due to coal. Nuclear is the future of power - specially thorium / molten salt. The media does not understand nuclear. Ref: Pandoras Promise, Thorium redux.

+ Alan Stutz Do not pull the plug on nuclear. Pull the plug on the systematic lying about nuclear. The truth about Fukushima is that nearly 20.000 people died in the tsunami. But it is not so spectacular. Thereafter thousands of innocent people are kept as refugees; long time after the level of radiation has reached a level much lower than naturally at many places, where people have lived for generations without being harmed. The final truth is that if Greenpeace shall get enough contributions they must find a danger to fight against. If they can not find a real danger a fictitious danger can be used. The danger is the climate-catastrophe we are heading because we were too scared to embrace nuclear.

ive never kept up with three mile island but, I do know that radiation readings here in TN have started rising and I have seen with my own eyes _ cpm upto almost 200 at the beach on the west coast and am seeing reading off shore of only a mile reaching higher than 3000 Bqr/m3 which is over 309 micro rems of radiation. it will make a man nauseous and start vomiting after just one hour of that exposure, And with all the thousands of reports comming in all across the northern hemisphere even from the emergency nuclear tracking systems showing ALERT levels the government continues to remain mute and not even one statement of late makes you really wonder what the hell is REALLY GOING.ON?+?
Laquisha Adams (3 года назад)
+michael dickman I got this article stating radioactivity is not a problem: http://www.forbes.com/sites/jamesconca/2015/03/16/the-fukushima-disaster-wasnt-very-disastrous/ Though I haven't been keeping up with it in the last few months. Maybe I'll take a closer look when I have some time. I do try to keep an open mind, but the danger of conspiracy theories is not only that they mislead, they can lead others, such as myself, to dismiss too easily. Again, I'm pretty sure it's not as bad as some make it out to be. If you asked me, right now, I'd say it's the general public distrust stemming from 3-mile island (which wasn't that big a deal, ultimately) and Chernobyl (which was due to crappy, outdated technology and terrible oversight) leading to a misguided distrust of nuclear energy. Though I think it's a shame that a generally safe and effective method of generating power has been so misaligned, I will say that it seems silly to place a nuclear reactor in Japan, a country prone to earthquakes and tsunamis. Regardless of whether it is a big deal or not, that just seems to be asking for trouble. As of now, however, I stand by my statement. You are welcome to help point me in the right direction and prove me wrong. If you manage it or if I find something new, I will retract my initial statement in this thread for all to see.

Further the Disaster that is Fukushima isn't (at least so far) of the kind that is instantaneous... Fukushima is a slow drip drip drip into the global ocean of poison...it's not evena  drip at over 300 tonnes of water every day haemorraging into the Pacific..

I hardly think so - why don't you grow up? people's concerns about those reactors are completely justified... scientists estimate that the entire Pacific will be contaminated from Fuku radioactivie discharges within just 6 yrs - that is a disaster.. or do you only call it a disaster when it all happens in just one day? These things don't discharge candyfloss...if only they did although I'm sure there are plenty of nuclearists out there willing to try & convince us that they do...

You want the WORLD to wake up about Fukushima?  Put a radiation detector in every grocery store in the WORLD: like the hand-held scanning devices and let every person on earth measure the radiation levels of the foods they buy. WHOA.  How much of what you eat is contaminated.  Nobody knows because they do not want you to know. The fact that mass processed food is contaminated and poisoned has a much MORE important message.  All mass manufacturing should be ABOLISHED and OUTLAWED.  Global consumer culture and civilization is out of control.  Either it will kill you or you kill it.  Until the 7 billion zombies of the human species wake you: you are toast and your children's reproductive organs will be permanently damaged

I wish the president didn't play the power game that the elites of the world seem too completely control, I wish Brocko would understand that his name will be lost in obscurity of time because he just followed the game like all the rest. If he would only understand that if he just so much ad mentioned to the world that the official 911 report is inaccurate, or if he just implemented a media campaign of just the smallest portion about the real details of Fukushima and informed the people regardless of the threat of panic, that his name would go down in history as being a great leader instead of just another that really made no difference. just try to be a little less insulting towards ignorance because it's hard for some people to believe that these people could be this evil.

+Yabaworld I share your desire for a harmonious relationship between humans and the rest of the biosphere.  We have spent all of our evolution struggling to dominate nature and fighting for resources.  Our brains have evolved to deal with the world in this way.  We now have the technology to stop competing with the other life forms on earth for resources but our brains cannot accept this new reality. One thing that could help us live harmoniously is having plentiful unlimited energy that does not need to deprive other lifeforms of their access to energy. With plentiful energy we could recycle all our waste and we could desalinate water from the ocean to irrigate deserts etc. Plentiful energy would also result in a higher standard of living for the poorest people and would result in a lower birthrate and a consequent decrease in the world's human population. I don't know if this positive future will come about but at least with plentiful energy we would have the possibility to choose this path. Cheers
Yabaworld (3 года назад)
Less than a thousand watts per ton is less than my space heater and yes that would've made more sense to me had I read your comment Quark Soup. But there's different isotopes of uranium. What's been dissilved in the oceans for eons has stabilized and is not the same as concentrations of it being added to the current between the USA and Japan. Surely, it would take eons for it to dissipate, and there will be currents of highly radioactive water out there, dropping trails of radiation behind. There is no way on earth that it's completely fine if we cause nuclear melt downs and dump them into the oceans. Sorry, but the oceans are not your garbage dump. :-P And no, nuclear power is very dangerous. Just look at what happened at Chernobyl. Coal ash is also radioactive. I'm all for living in a symbiotic relationship with the Earth. If you've ever walked around completely untouched woods they are awful to walk around; full of underbrush. But if you've ever walked around woods that humans live in and take care if, they are beautiful, there's more animals, and more room to walk.
Quark Leptonsoup (3 года назад)
+michael dickman You need better sources of information. There has been no effect on sea life as a result of Fukushima. Instead of reading sensationalist websites why not read what actual scientists are saying? The Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute has some very comprehensive but easy to understand studies on this very topic.
Quark Leptonsoup (3 года назад)
+Yabaworld The reason no one is proposing your ideas is because they are unnecessary. The real threat to life on our one and only planet comes from burning fossil fuels. Nuclear power is not a threat and is in fact one of the best ways to stop burning fossil fuels. You need to give your head a shake and focus on the real threats not the imaginary ones made up by anti nuclear fear mongers.

They are saying 3 had MOX fuel, and only measuring the  10,000 millisieverts/hour in 1?  Maybe they can't measure this at all, and coming up with whatever. It only takes a second to die if you go anywhere near 1,2,3 doesn't it?  The conflicting stories never cease.  Does anyone really believe that reactor 4 had a building built over it to steady it….by guys that can only work 2 hours a day each and they are in a heavy encumbered radiation suit and can't even go to the bathroom?  How can they send robots into reactor's that are flat to the ground?  Is there really 9000 degrees of mixed fuel going down under Japan boiling the ocean like a pot of water as I saw in pictures.  Many people are saying the fuel pool in building 4 is a story, something easy for the public to focus on but the MOX is the real problem in what was bldg 3 and this is they say one million times more radiation power, plutonium, etc….so…any serious answers?  Where are the satellite photos?

Quark Leptonsoup (4 года назад)
+ouivalerie Your claim that the cores are 9000 degrees requires the laws of physics to be rewritten.  Conventional physics shows quite clearly that the cores are currently producing less than 2000 watts per tonne of U.  That is around what a hairdryer puts out. If you have a new model of physics that would allow the cores to be putting out enough energy to be at 9000 degrees more than three years after being shut down you should apply for a Nobel prize!

can't find enough evidence either.  to support the claims, the numbers, there would be a lot of mutant babies born by now. Are they killing them all and hiding it?  There would be a lot more sick people…so they are going around showing just a few of the same sick people and it's looking like some people got some radiation and are suffering but it's not very many to match these numbers they are claiming are in the air and ocean and all they can say is it's being covered up massively by internet lockdown now, so where is the old evidence before the lockdown? Almost 3 years is enough time to see a lot of illness and sick animals by now! So they are saying it takes 5 years for cancer to develop, but I don't think it takes that long on the young and unborn and elderly.  This could shed all the light, people need to see... sick people, mutated people, and animals, and plants however, instead people are looking okay in a lot of Japanese videos so….all I can say is the illness doesn't match the horrific numbers of radiation. Fukushima should be sunk by now with all that full meltdown? Sea Life should be dead and washed up and down the Fukushima coastline by now.  What is the truth? Show less

It wasn't too long ago Canada and the U.S. made a deal with the Chinese for CFl's, florescent light bulbs which utilize mercury intended to replace the old incandescent light bulb. Now, this wouldn't be a big deal were it not for the fact that only 10% of these bulbs are being recycled. To be fair, I must admit the manufacturers did print recycling information on the label, but failed to make the print large enough to be discerned by the human eye. The governments of Canada and the United States have allowed the dispersal of massive amounts of one of the most toxic elements known to man so that some corporation could line their pockets. Fukashima happened a long time ago...with our blessing.

Fukushima is a really bad disaster and the u.s. really needs to get involved or their going to have a global hurricane Katrina consequence on their hands. Tepco is doing their best hiding the probems to advocate for the nuclear industry than getting what needs to be done! It's time they get the army core of engineers over there and forget the little song and dance act, because the u.s. isn't going to take 40 million Japanese refugees. So its do or die,we shouldn't be worried about Syria ,we should be worried about this international incident.

+Eric Echales look I know alll about thorium reactors and I know exactly how a nuke plant is engineered, you dont fricken need a nuke plant to make weapons grade plutonium at all when you can use a centrifuge or other processes to refine it, all your doing is separating the impurities of the element. The problem is saving money by not pumping the water up hill to cool the reactor, instead the dip shits put it on the shore line, which is a stupid move when your dealing with a place that has bee plagued by tsunamis and typhoons for as long as history can record.

+jefe Anson American engineers help maintain those facilities. I have met them in transit before at airports. Talked to them at great length. 43 some odd nuclear reactors.............uranium? which is only used because it can be weaponized. That accident in my own personal opinion is as much the USA's fault as it is Japan's. Thorium reactors are now being built by the USA in China and Japan is just starting to plan them for the future. These things were first realized in the 50's and 1000 x's safer. this event makes me sick as i am sure it does you. what makes it even sicker is that a great deal of what is happening is so our country may some day be able to destroy/end civilization. This event is not good. However, might it be better if we investigate more and, try and find out some basic info on this event? In these days,we do not need to add more fear into our daily lives, as its not alot of good news going on. But we should be asking questions, seeking the truth, and then we can put things in perspective.Maybe its a cover up,maybe its real dangerous, surely someone of experience and education in all things nuclear, can give us a better understanding of what is going on.

There have been no deaths directly attributed to radiation from the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster. This from Bloomburg News 20,May 2013.It is odd to me how the news media is not reporting on this story. Is it a terrorist false flag event, is it a nuclear radiatio disaster,Who is in charge.,,,Who is responsible,,Why is no one from the Nuclear Regulatory Comission issued stements,,updates,,Is it being covered up,to keep the nuclear industry viable ,? Reminds me of Gulf Oil Leak and 911 Robert

Following the accident inside the reactor 4 of the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant. The fire was extinguished and the damaged radioactive core was isolated by a combined effort of helicopters dropping over 5,000 metric tons of materials like sand, lead, clay, and boron onto the burning reactor and injection of liquid nitrogen. Why are you so rude and obtuse here ? People are only questioning, commenting on a very dangerous event. We can not all be so intelligent and all knowing as you, sir. robert

I guess that's why Chernobyl is a metropolis of human civilization "Shrug" Oh wait it's still a radioactive ghost town.... Nuclear waste what do we do with it when the fuel is spent? We dump it and pray to god it does not leak out of the pit we put it in. Yes we as a human race have nuclear energy mastered to perfection.
Barney Collington (5 лет назад)
We dont need to "Know" anyone to understand how radiation and natural disasters work, they kill people.
Modern Decay (5 лет назад)
Here's a tidbit. Yes the concept is awesome. But if we built enough Nuclear Reactors to power the the whole planet, we would run out of Uranium in 10 years anyway, at the current rate we will run out in 200 years, so what was the fucking point in the first place?
Denys Vlasenko (5 лет назад)
No one died from radiation sickness at Fuku. In fact, no one _contracted_ radiation sickness. Fearmongering seems to be a human trait...
Landotter1 (5 лет назад)
Agreed completely. We don't have the technology to run nuke reactors... burying waste is NOT cleaning up, either...
Entropian2012 (5 лет назад)
If they don't have the technology to clean up a nuclear disaster "Which has been proven time and time again that they can't stop the disasters" Then you do not have the technology to run a nuclear reactor.

Nuclear power destroyed two cities in WW II. Gee lets build 55 nuclear power plants in Japan, the most earthquake prone place in the world. Accidents, not to worry were Japanese, we build your Toyotas. Everything under control.

Were the American people sold a bill of goods in the 50's about "Atoms for Peace"-you tell me.

WOW! no surprize there, I guess....
Robert O'Rourke (5 лет назад)
its that the corporations of nuclear power and the media are NOT saying THE TRUTH to the people,Even the U.S. plants are leaking,in the south east, the NW and NE U.S. are power plants or storage dumps that are LEAKING NOW as well as Fukashima.
WinterSonata (5 лет назад)
I was puzzled when the media all of a sudden stopped reporting the nuclear disaster that was unfolding after weeks of reporting unfolding disaster in frenzy despite no signs of the disaster had been averted.

because the media lies to us all the time....they like to protect the governments like they protected Obama after he gave weapons to Al qeda which led to the Benghazi massacre of our ambassador.......the press do not know how to show the truth any more

Goodbye in deed. I think the human race would sooner commit suicide than entertain the idea of a single global civilization. The Nation State really is the font of all evil. Our attachment to it - will be our downfall.
Landotter1 (5 лет назад)
Couldn't care a less. one world government will be the doom of modern humanity and I will never agree. There is no regardless of the bilderburgers. They are the reality of what will come and it isn't good on any level. You'll never sell me on this technocratic society, pie in the sky bullshit. You have bought into a complete lie unless you don't like humanity as a whole. Good bye...
trev moffatt (5 лет назад)
Well regardless of the Bilderbergers, one world government is the only remedy. Groups like the Venus Project also advocate a single world government, as do plenty of other groups. Instead of working in the shadows. they openly state their case.
Landotter1 (5 лет назад)
you should watch movies like THX1138 and Logans run Human freedom, culture and all kinds of really cool things will disappear if we go to NWO type existance so NO... I DISAGREE completely. I read a quote from a matriarch of the Bilderburg family once... "If I had never had sons, there would be no wars" Pretty profound... THINK ABOUDIT!!!!

Radiation is far more serious than global warming. It lingers for thousands of years. As JFK said 'we either put an end to war, or war puts an end to us', And the only way to end war is global government and sharing the world's resources. Doesn't matter what clean technology you develop - nations will always, always bump up against each other for the domination of resources. E.g. if we didn't dominate the Middle East - China, Russia, or the EU would. Nash's 'game theory' - is totally correct.
Landotter1 (5 лет назад)
either radiation, carbon or NWO we are screwed. The very people who bitch about conservation and too large population are the ones who keep the consumer markets alive and well and the oil flowing. They want agenda 21 and NWO. Many people have tried and died, to give us the technology to be cleaner. The NWO people will not allow it because they wouldn't be in control of it. NWO is NOT the answer. EVERYONE standing up against them and doing the right thing, IS.

Nobody's free under the threat of MAD - or worrying about Nuclear power plant disasters. I think I'd sooner take my chances with a global government than slowly die of cancer. At least you go down fighting for a better world and you know the fuck what killed you. Permanent nuclear cold war isn't a life.worth living. Its either Utopia or bust. Its like when you reach a critical mass - you either stop smoking, drinking or eating fatty foods or else you die. Humanity is reaching critical mass.

well, enjoy your FEMA camp and end it with agenda 21 THEN one world government. you won't be around to enjoy your ultimate doom as a free human being.

Well I guess hyou can find and watch the Chernobyl documentary for yourself then... anyway, I stand behind my comments. Call me idiot or moron all you like but I know I'm right on all counts... good day sir.

Wrong. The Fukushima 50 were the 50 employees that remained behind until the 750 others were evacuated; Also, your 300 figure is fictional. 0 deaths have been DIRECTLY attributed to the Fukushima incident, due to radiation sickness or otherwise. I tried to post a source article from Bloomberg for this, but youtube wont let me post the url. You are spreading falsehoods, flat out lies, and claiming they are fact.
Matt Chaney (5 лет назад)
1) You're wrong about the half life. 2) The nuclear industry has the lowest accident rate and the lowest fatality rate of any energy industry. 3) The impact of nuclear on the environment is far less than oil or coal. Oceans ecosystems have been destroyed time and time again due to oil rigs exploding or pipes leaking, and CO2 emissions from gasoline and coal plant emissions are both terrible for the environment.
Rob187ok (5 лет назад)
It isn't wise to run just one nuclear plant anywhere on the planet.
trev moffatt (5 лет назад)
One global government is the only way. Otherwise a nuclear arms race is inevitable - meaning more nuclear power plants to produce more nuclear weapons. The solution is clear and obvious. One global government will produce terrorism from nationalists - but terrorism will not end life on earth.
