Congrats to MrRangerZr1, your air filter fix has been chosen by the people! I'll be sending the Amazon gift card to your email shortly! And for your chance to enter the contest and get a shot at winning, email your 30 second car fix to me: scotty.mechanic@gmail.com
Question for anyone to answer. I'm trying to figure out what car to buy for my first. What I've narrowed it down to is a 2000 ish Subaru Outback a 2004 ish Honda CR-V a 2005 ish Chevy Malibu a 2006 ish Chevy impala or a 2000-2004 ish Honda Civic. Any help I can get with this decision?
Vertical videos should be punished. Everybody can hold their phone sideways for filming a video! (the only important thing is, hold it sideways before hitting the record button)
Last two lost, because they were filmed vertically. First one wins, because it's simple and useful.
Youtube doesn't seem to want to let me vote, so you got a post.
The weatherstrip fix reminded me of when I replaced the vacuum-controlled lock hose on a Mk3 Jetta with clippings of irrigation line! They were slow because they were leaking air, but afterwards with the new hoses, they were as good as new.
For video number 2 that wasn’t even a fix. He simply just put back on the OEM plastic piece which got knocked off of the car. But hey whatever floats your boat man.
The half ass repair I did this past weekend was better than all of these. I tore apart my third brake light and replaced the fluorescent bulbs and ballast with LED strips.
Scotty have you ever had a really hard time finding a part??? Well I am right now. I need a engine Dip Stick tube and stick for a 1980-82 Ford 300 straight 6 engine . But it MUST be the one that threads into the oil pan. Not the one that threads into the engine block. I've checked every salvage yard in my area. I've come back empty handed. I've never had this hard a time finding a used part!!!
1:45. ( facepalm)..WHY....why....WHY..do you all insist on recording thing in PORTRAIT orientation!!?? stop this nonsense. This is why you have really thick black bars on each side!
I was trying to think of something to seal up my ‘01 Accord’s plastic timing cover when I did the job last summer since the factory gasket deteriorated after 17 years... #1 you’re a genius! I couldn’t think of that at the time so I used black gasket maker!
ez win for #1
I used that foam strip stuff the same way on my GMC Safari heater core duct and it's required to be used on my WTB 650b bicycle rims to fill space when going tubeless.
Hey Scotty. Years ago they came out with this whistle thing that only animals can hear and you put it on your car and it's supposed to scare deer away. Does that work?
Chances are you probably won't see this so I'll most definitely wait until you upload a video tomorrow I had a question for you had something happened weird today didn't know if it ever happened to you my girlfriend has a 99 Volkswagen Golf the check engine light was on I scanned it it had 11 codes I cleared the codes immediately as soon as they cleared and the check engine light went off the car started running like crap any explanation eventually straightened out the light is not on but this was so weird never had it happen before
Hey Scotty my Toyota (4.7lt V8) makes a clicking noice occasionally (not a knock) when I accelerate rapidly could it be a the lifters. The car has 115,000 miles on it
True story.
I went on a vacation with a woman in 1999. We took her 1994 Camry.
The radiator got puntured and leaked. Would not hold water.
We were in the middle of "Podunk Nowhere" and only 1 store that was about to close for miles and miles. She said she was getting a new car soon so I told her I could get us home. She said ok.
I went into the store and bought a half dozen eggs. I put them all in and immediately filled with water.
Needless to say, but we made it andvsge actually drove the car longer than expected and it held fine.
I really like this segment. You can learn a lot in just a short clip. I can't believe I never thought about using weather stripping for those repairs. great video!
