I'm pleasantly surprised that most of the comments are encouraging and not the sort of crap you usually see about how "They could stop if they wanted to" or passing judgement on these people. Maybe how people look at drug addiction and drug addicts is starting to change for the better, there shouldn't be a stigma.

why are the taxpayers paying for narcan? If the people die from overdose so be it. They will just use again if revived and the cost of medical care is astronomical. We as a society have to be willing to step over the people lying in the gutter from drugs and alcohol abuse or bankrupt our society. look at the mess. enabling them just compounds the problem. We should be pointing to the body in the gutter and telling kids, "don't let that be you".
This may sound cruel...but it`s not even my personal opinion so much as an observation. Every species on the planet has natural forces like starvation or disease or natural predators that keep it`s population in check....culling the herd to keep it strong. As the big time succeedor of all modern apex predators...us humans have no real natural forces or predators to keep our numbers in check. As a consequence we are over running and over using our planet and it`s resources....in growing numbers. So humans may have devised and created UN-natural forces to keep the herd culled...to exit the weak and the foolish...the sickly and insane. Car accidents...cancer... mechanized war...viral and bacterial agents...and synthetic toxins (like fentanyl). Maybe...just maybe..we collectively understand on a sub-conscious or proto-conscious level... that we actually NEED these things...to keep the herd in check...keeping it strong and virile...sane and healthy... helping to keep our numbers stronger and more able to survive natural hardships. If we really were so violently opposed to danger...cars...as an example would have been globally outlawed forever the VERY FIRST TIME there was a fatality...but they were`nt . If we really were so humanitarian and egalitarian...war would never have existed...ever. Thousands of years ago it used to be survival of the PHYSICALLY fittest. Our modern landscape now seems to dictate operating on a different level...survival of the PSYCHOLOGICALLY fittest. The psychologically weak...impared or infirm have a way of being self cancelling....self anniahalating...self destroying. Perhaps we need this mechanism more than we realize. Who knows ...just a thought. I do shit like that...I think outside the box of popular rhetoric and conventional thesis. I don`t do this to offend anyone...just offering up an observation on the modern human condition. I may be way off the mark here...or maybe not. Just throwing it out there as food for thought.
I never did fentanyl just like I never did every other street drugs. I'm seriously so close to start doing fentanyl and heroin and cocaine and xanax.. I'm a alcoholic. I'm trying to quit drinking alcohol and liquor but I'm seriously addicted to it. Right when I wake up alcohol and liquor is the first thing I think about!!
I have a genetic predisposition to get addicted to stuff. I've known this about myself since forever. I've been diagnosed with ADHD, so I tend to be a thrillseeker. I also (luckily) have a low tolerance for any form of medication. For instance; if I've got a headache, I only take half a paracetamol. A full one makes me fall asleep.
When I got kidney stones, my doctor prescribed morphine. I loooooved the effect, therefore I never renewed my prescription; I know myself. Also the reason why I'd never take drugs, even though I'm curious about it. I know it'd go downhill with me VERY soon.
I know I sound like a heartless c*nt, but many drug addicts use their life as an excuse as to taking drugs and it just doesn't wash with me. Life is f*cking hard, for almost everybody. You can't use bad experiences as an excuse, we all go through tough times, but you need to be a little tough and walk it off. Resorting to drugs is just a really looser-ish thing to do.
I'm all for helping people that need a little hand, but you need to want to help yourself out first before you can ask. No one is going to want to waste their time on someone that has just 'given up'.
Sorry, I know I'm ranting. But PLEASE, if you want some help, help yourself first and give people a reason to do so.
The way Britain is we were ill equipped to deal with this problem. Tradegy waiting to happen. Bye bye blighty. (basically lived under American occupation since the end of the war anyway, everyone did).
I’m prescribed 50mcg Fentanyl patches for a non terminal condition. I have something called Complex Regional Pain Syndrome or (CRPS) it’s one of the most painful disorders known to man. I have it in my right hand; it causes my hand to feel as though it is quite literally on fire 24/7. It never stops. It also causes shooting & stabbing pains. The nerves in my hand are receiving pain signals constantly. There is no cure. Fentanyl patches take my pain from a 9-10/10 down to a 5-6/10. Without them I don’t have a life. CRPS is also known as the suicide disease. It’s hard to describe the debilitating pain to those who don’t feel it. It’s worth looking it up, it’s very misunderstood. I got the condition after being bitten by my cat last year. It’s relatively rare. My life completely changed, if amputation was Guaranteed to stop the pain I would have my right (dominant) hand amputated without a second thought. I am now left handed and still learning how to adapt to this disability.
sharefactor Yes it was, we’re unsure whether it was the cat bite or the operations that caused it. I was bitten in March last year. Because CRPS isn’t very well understood the treatment options are scarce. It tends to either be managed via painkillers or something called a Spinal cord stimulator which involves electrical wires being placed into the spinal cord connected to a battery pack which is insirted into the skin of the tummy or buttocks. Because the SCS is invasive it’s used as a last option kind of thing & before having it implanted you have to have a trial because it doesn’t work for everyone. Ketamine infusions is another option but again it’s not carried out very often x
@Vicky thanks for the insight! So it was, in your case, triggered by an cat bite related infection. Could they "disconnect" the sensory nerves in a way you could still control your hand without feeling anything? (numb)
sharefactor Doctors don’t know what causes it. You don’t have to have an injury for the condition to take hold. There are two types; type 1 (involves an injury damaging the nerves which I have) Type 2 which doesn’t involve a nerve injury. The condition can also take hold after a sprain, fracture, knock, operation-like me, etc. You can get it in any limb. It’s relatively rare. I’m just unlucky. It’s changed my entire life but I just have to make the most out of it. If I didn’t have 16 operations on my hand to rid it of infection then I would have died but unfortunately I now live with CRPS. I’m learning about it every day. I’m hoping to help others who suffer from it to raise awareness; sufferers need to become their own advocate because not many doctors have ever treated it. I’m teaching my GP at every appointment 😊
Drug addiction isn't a problem, it's a choice, stop wasting taxpayer money on these addicts. They game on peoples help, money and gratitude at their own convenience so they can justify their stupid and terrible choices.
Fentanyl is so easy to buy in bulk, it's unbelievably cheap and there are loads of analogues that are deadlier and even cheaper. Where I live 90% of the shit being sold as heroin is at the very least laced with fent or a fent analogue if not only fent with some antihistamine and other garbage shook into it. Problem is if you choose to go the cheaper route of getting it direct from the source and you don't intend on selling it you'll be dead within a week. If you do sell it in the raw then you'll be jailed for manslaughter sooner than later. Pick your poison.
I’m a Xanax addict so I can completely relate but I’ve downed my dose from 3-7 pills a day to half a pill a day at the most (1mg) and be careful buying Xanax without prescription, more and more are putting fentanyl inside pills
I absolutely despise the effects of fentanyl, but its the only thing that helps my chronic back pain caused by spinal stenosis. I wear an extended release patch, and am also on another opioid and a couple of benzo's as well. I literally feel like I'm half awake all day. I personally can't see the attraction to the drug, but I was a speed freak too. Got off the crank 22 years ago and if I can hold on til Christmas Day, it will be 23 years. Its kind of hard to say that I'm clean when I attend a meeting, but thankfully I haven't gone back to the meth.
It seems like every 2 years they come up with another way to kill us first the Heroin came then the Big Pharma plug virus, after that fentanyl, after that carfentanyl and now w18 not looking forward to what's next not forgetting about Krokodil which is a living night mare we got to pray for all this souls
The human race has definitely reached critical mass. We are no longer killing others by the thousands, we are deliberately kill ourselves. No one cared to stop this when we had a chance, except maybe China. Too many people, not enough jobs, split and broken families, homelessness, hopelessness, despair. And it is world wide.
This was very upsetting to watch. Most of these people are just lost, trying to dim there past. Now the problem that keeps springing to mind is that yes these people are addicts but that should not overshadow the state of their mental health. Everything has a route and the addiction side is just the tip of the iceberg. It certainly doesn’t help that the police are totally criminalising these individuals, locking them up when they are caught with drugs and or found stealing to fund the habit. Instead they should be trained to offer support and push these individuals in the right direction. Yes you might argue that “some” may just continue to relapse. But we have to try!
Everytime I watch these documentaries I wonder what could drive people to live like this because I have been through hard time myself rape, raised myself from 14 years old, homeless, prostitution, cam model and had to raise my daughter by myself but I have never been addicted in any drug or alcohol.
I’ve been a heroin addict since 13 I’m about to turn 23 in 3 days I grew up in north Philly but moved to Arizona a few years ago. The gear out here is no where near as good of quality. But in the last two years I’ve had 8 friends die back in north Philly from the fentanyl being mixed in the heroin. Luckily out here it’s black tar and know one would mix each .
Lost many friends to Fent. It's so powerful it's scary. I would take a shot of it and would black out before I could take the needle out of my vein. If you know you're doing fentanyl you can at least adjust you're dose but this stuff is a straight KILLER when you think you're getting heroin. ONE WORD OF ADVISE. IF YOU CAN'T STOP USING AND YOU ARE THINKING OF METHADONE TRY to detox at least one time before you turn to methadone. If you get on methadone use it to detox and DO NOT GO ON METHADONE MAINTENANCE you're first time. METHADONE IS MUCH HARDER TO KICK THAN HEROIN.
"WHY???? why the import of china grade fentanyl is so prevlent and easy to score?? this is a international nightmare and a mess of humans who will overdose and die long the course of use....i have read the U.S. national statistics that were recorded for the year 2016- 62,354 deaths associated with the use of fentanyl and then the drug cartels ass this dangerous potent drug to the heroin to sell to the junkies here in america!! manslaughter and mayhem and lots of dead people?? * the cure for these individuals would have to be a mineral elixar -liquid mineral water!! There is mineral water to have-**72 grain mineral water is very potent and can be bought Online as a replacement drug and will bring these folks back to life agin!! lots of this mineral water could save thousands of lives!!
The government needs to do rehab on st kilder for these people so that their is no way to get the drugs in. Sign them up to a programme and keep them there for a year without contact to the outside world, and monitor them with ferried in doctors.
The government doesnt want you to try LSD or other psychdelics because they rip apart belief systems and can wake people up... its time to say no to this way of life you are not some stranger in all this.. you are the whole works and your common sense has been rigged since birth
He said he want to be blind to not see this life anymore, this is sayin like the world is bad not what he is doing it’s bad, so boy you chose this lifestyle, people fly to Britain for a better life working hard to stay there to be accepted, so u are in your hometown and all u can do for you is to use fentanyl, fuck u all drug addicts, some of you don’t have reasons to do that, but even if u have you should chose other ways to live life, WHo tf give those people money to use drugs and eat... I would never give them anything just a fresh shit
I can picture someone in the BBC Three offices doing a roundtable with some producers and saying 'We need stuff that teenagers will watch', and someone sticking their hand up and saying 'Let's just rip off Vice and Buzzfeed'.
The irony is that people were already starting to see through Buzzfeed and Vice started making nothing but shit around the time this channel started gaining traction.
While I won't deny that these are much better put together than any Vice or Buzzfeed video, it's still the same tired two formats they've been milking for the last few years.
THEY ALSO BRAG THEIR MOM IS A MANAGER OF A MCDONALDS BRANCH SOMEWHERE IN AMERICA AS IF ITS A BIG DEAL...HIS NAME IS ALEX AND HE IS A CELLPHNE SNATCHER AND HE STOLE SIX PAIRS OF BASKETBALL SHOES FROM ME...I SAW HIM STANDING ON THE STREET CORNER LOOKING FOR SOMEONE TO ROB...THAT WAS 2008...I SHOULD HAVE BEAT THE SHIT OUT OF HIM
i know a certain politician somewhere in southeast asia who uses fentanyl above the recommended dose by the physician but he claims he is not addicted to it.i read about it in the newspaper....he wants to close down the newspaper.
it's very upsetting to watch this documentary .... I've lived in Hull for 10 year's ... and these people's had families who turned their back on them .... council and social services are responsible for letting these youngsters down ...
When in doubt, triple the dose! Stop when breathing becomes a conscious effort. You're at the door then. Naw, but in all seriousness contrary to popular belief there is safer way to use Fentanyl or any Ultra-strong opioid. That is to say, opioids that are active/effective at therapeutic and recreational doses at the microgram level - as opposed to Diacetylmorphine (Heroin) or Morphine or Oxycodone or Hydromorphone which are active at the milligram level.
What is the safer way? It's that man sat there smoking it. You can titrate the dose that way much like cannabis. Ideally it's orally because you're letting the liver do what it does to every drug you throw down by mouth...it's putting the drug through first pass metabolism. It's kinda robbing you of a certain amount of that drug (this is all dependent on oral bioavailability) in exchange for keeping you safer.
Some drugs will only work well when injected like Dilaudid (Hydromorphone) because taken by mouth the liver robs you of more than two-thirds of the dope. You end up feeling only 31% of what you ate, while injected the bioavailability is near 100% so I understand IV use from a cost-effectiveness standpoint. But I'd never buy Dilaudid. I'd get Oxycodone which is 90-95% oral bioavailability! You get nearly everything when you take it by mouth and your liver also creates a metabolite drug of Oxycodone called Oxymorphone (Opana) which is an even better drug in my opinion. When you snort or especially shoot the oxy, you gain very little (about 5-10% bioavailability boost) and lose a lot, like your vein health, a dimension of the high which only exist when taken by mouth, etc.
But find a drug that, like Dilaudid, works well in the needle...something like Heroin (some junkies say that the rush from Dilaudid is superior to that of Heroin) and you're off and running. So much good fun. Slow, slow weeks earning the cash for your pills and powders, fast, fast weeks shooting them. Soon enough it's untenable to continue this low-reward regime and what's more is that I need five or six times what I used to shoot to get any sort of a decent rush now, so I turn to crime.
My life is condensed to wallowing in 5-10 minutes of splendour that is becoming less dreamy and intoxicating and more routine with every shot...AND you're spending five times as much as you used to when you made a 20 dollar bag last you three days smoking or snorting or eating it. Now, in just a year or two, five of those bags injected directly into the pipeline to the brain are needed for 60 seconds of bliss, an hour of euphoric pleasure and the sudden need for more in six to eight hours. Once the needle comes into play, for nine people out of ten, it's all over...whether they die in twenty years or twenty days.
